Reviews of La Segunda Central Bakery
The absolute best Cuban sandwich I have ever had!!! The bread was fresh, slightly crispy and toasted. The inside is where the magic happens. The pulled pork, ham, salami, swiss cheese, and that special sauce. WOW! It's very good. The only thing is that it's very small inside so wear a mask but do go and get the Cuban sandwich. I also got the cinnamon stick and it was on point. I highly recommend this place.
Whenever I am in Tampa I ALWAYS stop here for a breakfast sandwich and a loaf of Cuban bread. There’s is just something about that salty buttery crispy crust on the sandwich that takes me to heaven every time! You have to experience this place! It’s top notch in service too. The staff is super friendly. The pastry selection is superb
I am married to a Cuban … so I have eaten my fair share of Cuban food.
Much to my wife’s dismay … I had to report that the Cuban sandwich here is better than Versailles in Miami.
The sandwich is on point.
The guava turnover is great … but still in 2nd place behind Versailles.
If you are in Tampa and want to try a fantastic Cuban sandwich … go here.
You can't go wrong here. We went for a loaf of cuban bread and ended up with 2 sandwiches and 3 desserts. The bread was fresh, and the loaf was huge. The sandwiches were large enough we got 2 meals out of them and the desserts were the bomb. They close early, so you need to plan a visit early when you're in the area
Really great Spanish bakery! Tried the cookies, love them! Tried the Spanish food, loved that as well! Excellent breakfast sandwiches made on Cuban bread! Definitely worth going to! Speaking as a person of Hispanic origin their Spanish food was right on the money! @americanexpress thank you for issuing them a grant to continue with their excellent service and products and thank you American Express for posting videos about this establishment on Facebook otherwise I never would’ve known about it!!! Good people work here!!!
Great experience! Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Got to talk to a local before going in and she gave us the low down. Super impressed with pricing, quality and taste. Eclair was closest to the eclairs from Paris I've found so far. Recommend!
Wow wow wow. I traveled to Tampa to see the Baltimore Ravens play. so, I stayed a couple of days and I was advised to stop at this bakery. Another coworker suggested a particular location . But I went to this one. this is not a chain. So this is not a Krispy Kreme, meaning, these are real people baking this heavenly goodness. It's not a machine. I don't know who's back there baking , but oh my God!!! :) . I tried to take as many pictures as possible for people to see . They had so many people in the lobby waiting to be served and they were fast and it was clean in there. I purchase one item because I love sweets so I had to really exercise some willpower. But the item that I bought was a Quesito. Look at how golden brown it is.... it's a pastry filled with cream cheese. And the cream cheese wasn't overly sweet. There's some sort of glaze on top of the pastry it reminds you of honey but it wasn't honey. I don't know what it was but like literally I wish I had bought several to bring home
I don't want to mention names but you can look at my other reviews and potentially a bakery (in Owings Mills) can take notes) La Segunda, oh my. This is the god honest truth if I return to Tampa it will be to eat! there were some interesting restaurants I wanted to try and this Bakery alone; I wish I could have something overnighted..
I hope everyone finds these pictures helpful. Make it your business to go to this Bakery. You won't be disappointed, I promise you.
The cuban bread👏the Cuban bread👏the👏cuban👏bread👏....dear lord baby Jesus this bread is good
This place deserves every bit of its fame.
Saw a guy walk out with like a dozen loaves of bread as I was waiting for my food and thought that seemed like an excessive amount of bread, but after getting/eating my food I realized he was wise soul.
Just phenomenal. Every single thing we had was beyond good.
Prices are very reasonable for the quality and flavor of the food.
The food itself will exceed any expectation you may have.
Probably going to want to order ahead if you're getting more than 1 or 2 things.
Very tasty Cuban bread and eggs for breakfast. The chocolate donut was average for me. No dine in, only takeaway.
First time guest. Was looking for quick stop for some sweets and they definitely delivered! Friendly staff, great selection and taste amazing. Definitely will be back!!
This is one the best bakery’s in the Tampa area. ☀️ This bakery has it all. They have great sandwiches 🥪 and are open for both breakfast and lunch. I love ❤️ the flavor and the way they make their donuts. ESPECIALLY THE CHOCOLATE! 🍩 They offer all of the cuban coffees and drinks ☕️
🅿️ Don’t let the limited parking stop you from stopping in and checking out this Tampa original old school bakery! If there isn’t parking in the front, be sure to check on the side.
Absolutely a 5 star!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Looking for a quick place for a Cuban Sandwich on our last day, so glad we stumbled across this place! Best Cuban I've ever had, the pastries looked delicious and my macaroon was delightful
Delicious. Crispy. Juicy.
One of the best Cubans in Tampa, hands down. The bread alone is worth the drive, believe they supply the bread to Columbia.
Super nice location, great staff and very fast. If you’re in Tampa and want a good Cuban, look no farther.
Best Cuban sandwich in Tampa. Flew all the way from LA to experience this. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Cuban on amazingly fresh bread.
A long-standing bakery that serves the best Cuban bread and sandwiches I’ve ever had. Their pastries and other selections are fantastic as well so you’ll always leave happy! The staff is kind and I recommend ordering ahead as they can be very busy.
Solid service, solid food. Had the Cubano and it was delicious. If it's popular with the locals, you know they are good. I'll cone back here again.
An Ybor City classic. The best Cuban sandwich anywhere. I am also partial to the Devil Crab. #yum
Went for breakfast and ordered a cafe con leche and a breakfast sandwich with egg, provolone cheese, and ham. I also ordered a Cuban bread to go. For the money these were high quality items and one can appreciate the gourmet taste of the freshly-prepared fare. The operation is in historic Ybor City and has been around for over a century. A must if in Tampa. I hear it gets busy and you can place an order online for pickup to skip the line. When I went (Sunday around 9:15am) it wasn't too packed (maybe 5 people ahead of me but the line didn't take long). -Aug 2021
Still fantastic. Went with the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich and it was amazing. Also got Cuban bread and sandwich for lunch. Will be back.
If you're in the area definitely go check out this little spot. No sitting area.
You can place order ahead to Just pick up or prepare to stand in line (tiny place)
Cuban bread is HUGE!! and delicious!!
Recommend 💯 btw.. est 1915 !!
Small but delicious bakery in Ybor City featuring a wide array of Cuban pastries. From the espresso flavor to the pastries everything was perfect.
It’s the original and the best Cuban sandwich out there. But don’t skip the pastries! The guava turnover was outstanding.
Definitely a GREAT Cuban Sandwich! How I worked in Ybor for 11 years and never knew about this place for an excellent Cuban Sandwich is beyond me. I will never know. However, finally tried it and it's a great little joint with great food/choices. Thank You!
The best Cuban bread that makes the best sandwich 🥪.
All the other bakery items are amazing.
If you are in Tampa ,this is a must! …
Great service today for Breakfast!! Cashier was so friendly. first time and we loved it. We will be coming back for sure.
My daughter was visiting here from Georgia and she’s a veterinarian and she was heading home. She took two boxes of pastries to take back to the clinic.😊 …
We have visited La Segunda twice now and absolutely love all of the options they offer in the bakery. We have not tried any of their deli items yet, but those look great too. The staff have been very nice and helpful both times and their prices are great. I love their guava pastry, best one I've had. We like to order a pound of their cookies and get a couple of each to try. Definitely recommend trying them out. The Ybor City location does not offer any sitting area it's to-go only. Maybe next time we will try a sandwich and of course more sweets.
Fantastic bakery that you should not miss!
From the food to the baked goods, you will not be disappointed. We had the Cuban salad and the Cuban sandwich, both of which were fantastic.
The Cuban here is authentic, meaning it has the correct ingredients and is hot pressed.
The baked goods, such as the cinnamon roll, custard horn, and apple turnovers were all fantastic. Not a thing was less than perfect.
Best of all, the service was above and beyond as well. Mary Lou was the sweetest lady to deal with, offering help and assistance in any way possible.
Note, you can call in orders, or place them on the net as well, which will help you get what you want and in a much more timely fashion.
OMG! SO AWESOME!
Amazing food! Breakfast & lunch is FANTASTIC! Grab a loaf of Cuban bread while your there! Many tasty treats as you can see in the photos! Must visit spot in the Tampa Bay Area! Wonderful staff! Trust me, you don’t be disappointed! Order online via their website to save time!
Ok Folks if your looking for fresh everything you have to go to La Segunda Central its the best Bakery on both sides of the Bay. The Customer Service is phenomenal a great Crew they're professional, helpful, kind and they seem to take pride in their work they actually seem to like there jobs. It's so refreshing. . Reminiscent of a bygone era.
Folks it takes a second to see just why they've been serving Tampa and surrounding areas since 1917. Its the Standards you see then.taste.
I am sure you won't be disappointed.
The Cuban toast was excellent! Being from Miami, I grew up with Cuban bakeries and La Segunda is older than any Cuban bakery in Miami. The toast was as good or better than any I've ever had. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in Tampa.
If you want the best Cuban sandwich you've ever had, stop into this Bakery. The Cafe Con Leche was excellent, the pastries were delicious. Do yourself a favor and stop in here to eat.
Want a Cuban sandwich? You have to have authentic Cuban bread! They have the best here!
The pastries were fantastic (fantastic fantastic. a dream) - I will never be upset to receive a guava cheese. But there seems to be zero organization in the shop, and we waited over 20 minutes for coffee. It looks like there's a mobile order option, so I'd look into that.
We were looking for a decent cup of Cuban coffee. Google recommended La Segunda. Ordered 2 Cuban coffees, a Cuban sandwich and a turkey sandwich. The Cuban and the turkey sandwiches were delicious. The Dijon was on point, thick sliced turkey and ham. The bread was tasty and baked in house. It had a light buttery taste with every bite. The size and flavor of the sandwiches are worth the price. The coffees on the other hand were plain ole cafe con Leche. I thought I ordered expresso shots but may have gotten lost in translation when I ordered. Order took about 15 minutes which wasn't bad, but they have limited parking.. Remember they close at 3pm so come early.
La Segunda Central Bakery is a Cuban bakery located in a somewhat isolated spot in Tampa. It is over 100 years old and a gem just like the Columbia Restaurant. It is right next to the underpass of 275 and it was probably there before 275 was built and the creation of the highway is likely what isolated it. The reason l mention this is because in spite of its location this small bakery thrives and leaves you with a connection to the past. I went there for the first time last Sunday. I heard about them and started following on Facebook. I decided last weekend it was time to try it. They are famous for their Cuban sandwiches and they are famous for their cinnamon buns along with their pastries. I went in the early afternoon but the place was still bustling. People were walking out with giant Cuban loaves of bread. I can only imagine that these people were buying bread like in the old days for their Sunday family dinners. When l went inside and got a look, the pastry cabinet hits you in the face. It is loaded with all kinds of desserts, some that were unique, but they were all presented well and looked so appealing. I waited my turn and tried to get a feel for the place and choose what l wanted so l wouldn't slow up the show. I originally wanted a custom breakfast sandwich that l heard about but then l saw their Cuban and l couldn't decide which one to choose. Then an idea came to me and I was happy it did. I decided to get a Cuban but with egg on it like a breakfast sandwich. While l was thrilled about thinking of that, l also wanted to try the cinnamon buns. When it was my turn to order the first thing l noticed about all the people that worked there was that they were very friendly. They were all hustling around but they were very pleasant to the customers and they had a good attitude. They all worked as a team and kept the process rolling. The woman who took my order was just that. I told her about my Cuban sandwich with egg and she was okay with rhat. Then l got the cinnamon bun. Then l went crazy and got 3 other pastries that l liked. I could have chosen more but l decided to save it for another time. I like to experiment so l got one of their pineapple sodas and cashed out. When the stuff came out in pueces, the lady at pickup was very nice and would call my name for each thing and wish me a good day. When l got my things, you can't eat inside, so l went out to my car. I opened my Cuban with egg and I was amazed. They put a giant thick scrambled egg on there that was the just the right size of the Cuban bread. They did not skimp at all or use those fake flat egg patties. It made the sandwich great. The egg complimented the Cuban or l should say they complimented each other. The pork in the Cuban was shredded and so moist, not dry, and it was flavored nicely. The pickles and mustard added flavor to the meats and bread. I love egg sandwiches and this idea was fantastic. I had the cinnamon bun later and that was very good to. It was nice and light, not heavy, and it wasn't airey either . Their recipe was spot on. I had the other 3 pastries another day with someone else and we both loved them. They also present everything nicely whether it's in a box, or a sandwich wrapped with a sticker on it. Not many places last as long as they have, but l can understand why this place is a success and a tradition in the Tampa area. These folks have a great formula for success and they back it up with fantastic food and pleasant service. It's a tribute to tradition and quality. I will definitely be back there.
Are you looking for a carry-out restaurant that offers an out of body experience on a cuban roll? Then this is your place. The thousands of dynamic reviews from La Segunda are not a result of the fancy frills that come from a fine dining experience, but rather, these 5 Star reviews are the result of a collective encounter with flavor explosions served up fresh from a basic lunch counter. Do yourself a favor, and order online to skip the line. The Original Cuban is a must-try; add on a few of their authentic Cuban bakery items to round off the best lunch you have had this year.
La Segunda has great pastries and Tampa delicacies like devil crab. They have one of the best Cuban sandwiches in Tampa. The staff is always nice, helpful and efficient.
Always fresh! Customer service is excellent as well.
Only complaint keep the service animals (especially if their hair flies around) on the ground! Lady was in today holding a dog up as high as the counter.
I don't live in Tampa but make sure every time I come to Tampa this is my first stop. Great food, amazing Cuban bread, pastries and coffee. There is a reason this place has been around forever!
Have had delicious cubans here. They are accommodating of my lactose intolerance, including removing the butter from the bread.
The avocado sandwich with egg and sundried tomato is delicious. I especially like the sundried tomato. I liked the breakfast sandwich with steak and egg, but maybe would get it with sundried tomato if I had it again (or get the avocado sandwich instead).
Yummy local bakery and sandwich shop. Very friendly service!
Yes you will wait in a small space, but the historic building and delicious aromas make the wait go easier
Arrived around 10:30 AM to get some breakfasts to go. Two Cubans ($9.99 each), one breakfast sandwich with cheese and sausage ($6.99), one breakfast sandwich ($4.99), two large cafe con leche ($5.49 each), and one cinnamon bun ($2.49) to round out the order.
Food was good. Coffee was robust. Cinnamon bun was average. Lots of good looking desserts in the display cases along with long line of patrons.
Worth a visit but wasn't an extraordinary experience.
Best cuban sandwich I've ever had. Also the guava rings and meat pastries are delicious. It's a Cuban bakery but no one speaks Spanish 🤦♀️🤣 my boyfriend is cuban and speaks only spanish. Good thing I spoke English. Which that's not a huge issue. Otherwise 5 stars 2 thumbs up. …
This bakery will invite you in with the smell alone. The pastries are definitely fresh, staff is very funny and friendly and the sandwiches are to die for. First time only tried the cuban and the turkey bacon avocado but, AMAZING!!!
Amazing food. Place was extremely busy as expected for how popular it is. But well worth it. Online ordering and pickup made it very convenient
Christmas cookies were fantastic. I placed an order for 4 boxes to take with me back to cleveland. My family couldn’t get enough of them. Taking a trip and they all survived intact. Also tried the tres leche and I’m hooked. This will be my every trip go to for sandwiches and treats.
My first time to try and I really like the fresh Cuban bread, guava and coconut pastries.
Came back second, pastries still very good. Of course don’t forget to take some fresh Cuban bread. Sugar cookies a little dry, but overall were very delicious.
Just go here. Easily the #1 breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. The pastries are delicious. Service is friendly and enthusiastic. Only downside is your order WILL take longer than you’d expect; they’re busy because everyone is comes here for the goodness. It’s worth the wait!
La Segunda has been our go-to when we want a tasty pastry to go with our coffee. Don't worry, calories do not count when you walk through the door. There is a nice variety and they even have salads and sandwiches. We haven't tried them yet but have heard great things. I always get the guava and cheese turnover! That flaky delicious square always leaves my lap looking a hot mess but it's worth it lol. Go in, grab a number, and I'm sure you will have a hard time deciding on what to get.
I've lived in Tampa for almost 60 years and I've never been to this bakery. It's a must-see true authentic Cuban Italian bakery. The guava cheese turnover or Danish is a must-have along with a coffee con leche.
I've been going there since 1950 as a child. Whenever we visit Tampa we don't miss out on the freshly baked Cuban bread & the huge variety of pastries, cookies, puddings, & flan. There is always a line with a wait but it is well worth the wait.
I dont usually rate places 5 stars. This place I had to. Prior to my experience here, I was not a fan of Cuban sandwiches. I thought they were just ok. This place had so many reviews, so i had to try it. Let me tell you the cuban sandwiches was the best I ever had. I was blown away. It was stacked w meat and the flavor was amazing. Next time i am in town I will return for sure. I wish I could of tried more from the menu. Parking could be tight, but there is a lot across the street which could be easily missed.
Food was good but it's overly hyped and always a long line. cuban pastries (pastelitos) are oversized, expensive and not as good as the ones in Miami.
Best cuban sandwiches in Tampa!! They also sell Cuban bread by the loaf, half loaf, and small, along with all your favorite pastries.
Strong espresso and delicious sandwiches, all made on their fresh Cuban bread.
Take a number and look at all the mouth-watering pastries during your quick wait.
Popular spot. Guava turnover was good and had plenty of guava. Egg, chorizo, cheese sandwich was just okay. Pastries seem a bit expensive for a bakery (~$2.50 for the guava one). Would be nice if they had some outdoor seating or ANY seating :). Definitely order online to skip the line if you can!
We ordered the delicious hot Cuban Sandwich. And very reasonably priced. The bakery has a 'take a number' system and obviously runs like clockwork. Highly recommended.
OH MY GOODNESS... y'all already know this bakery is fire 🔥. You get out of your car, a block or 2 away and you can still smell the deliciousness in the air. I'M SO SERIOUS WHEN I SAY YOU NEED TO MAKE IT A POINT ANYTIME YOUR IN THE AREA TO EAT HERE. For real tho... totally worth it. …
So polite and welcoming! My friend and I had a Cuban sandwich, soooo good! We enjoyed every bite including some of the pastries they offer. A must go :)
This place is consistently amazing. My favorite cuban in Tampa by far. I've ordered both individual sandwiches and catering platters from here and I will always come back! Great service, great quality food.
My wife and I visited here yesterday to grab a Cuban sandwich and a pastry. They have a huge selection of fresh baked pastries from which to choose from, and a number of sandwich and coffee options. All the food tasted so fresh! Even with a line out the door, our order was ready quickly.
easily the best Cuban I've ever had! Fresh bread baked in house, slow roasted chunks of pork, thin slices of amazing quality ham and that house mustard sauce... YUM. You wont find a better one in TPA!
Best Cuban Bread in the world!!! Took my Granddaughter yesterday. We bought the wonderful cuban bread, guava turnovers, coconut cake and chocolate cake! A 60 mile round trip from my home and she was visiting from Leesburg. Will always drive for that bread!!!
The Guva turnover was excellent, but my chicken empanada was quite dry and served with no salsa.
The other baker goods we got I can’t remember the exact names for but they were great as well.
Love this place. Great staff and food. If you can get out of La Segunda with just cuban bread you are a better person then I am!
This is it!!!! Great bakery & Cuban Food. Everything is so delicious from the bakery treats, to the cafe con leche, to the Cuban Sandwich!!!! Try it all & fresh baked Cuban bread!!!!!
Since moving from Miami to Orlando, I have been unable to find a Cuban restaurant like the ones in Miami. This bakery in yubor city in Tampa has some of the best Cuban pastries I've had in a long time. I wish I lived closer 😪 …
Recently visited from South Florida and ate breakfast at La Segunda twice in four days. The breakfast sandwiches and Empanadas were so delicious they left me wishing there was a location closer to home.. The store was consistently busy but the staff quickly worked through the line and the wait wasn't that long. Not a wonder why La Segunda has been around so long, they are that good.
This was my first visit to La Segunda Central Bakery. The employees were very helpful and welcoming. The food was delicious. I will definitely go again when in Tampa.
This morning I met Sheila and Romelia. Both are friendly with great personalities. Also, the steak and egg breakfast sandwich and pastries I purchased were delicious!
It's rare to see so many smiling faces behind the counter. Maybe that made everything taste AMAZING, or maybe it was the 100 year tradition of technique and recipes. Regardless, it's no wonder this place is iconic.
Great Tampa-style Cuban sandwich. If nothing else, go for the bakery smells. This is a popular local staple and for good reason.
Everything here tastes way much better than the bakeries in all of Miami. The people here are all hard working and very kind. I recommend visiting when in Tampa.
tons of options. everything super fresh. pastries were great. one sandwich was quite good, one not so good. i will visit again and try more pastries.
La Segunda is our schools PTA top choice. Its a one stop shop for Breakfast, Lunch or a snack. Bryant, Romelia and Chance are always great with our catering orders.
They forgot to put the sausage in my breakfast Sammy, so it wasnt as good as it could have been, but what I got was fantastic. You can definitely tell they've had 100 years to work on this.
One of the greatest bakeries in the world. The Cuban bread is a must. The guava flips are to die for. Las galletas es muy rico y sabor. Do plan for a line but well worth it.
La Segunda - you are the best. I just wish you were in North Florida. It is beautiful that something from mis bisabuelos is still thriving 100+ years after they arrived here. You are part of my treasured memories. Thank you - I *was* raised on Cuban toast indeed. I am so fortunate. ❤️❤️❤️
A lifetime of having access to the best Cuban bread seems to have come to an end. Picked some up yesterday and for the second time in a row the Cuban bread was like tasteless cardboard.
I didn’t really like Cubans until I came here. Their bread is addictive lol. Also made sure to try the Media Noche bread on any sandwich.
This place is so good we went twice and stocked up to bring home treats. Traditional cookies were top notch, breakfast sandwich to die for and a great cafe con leche. Did I mention the bread?!?! That's why we went, but everything was fantastic!
Although I personally do not believe they are the best Cuban sandwiches in tampa, these Cuban sandwiches are still worth a stop for. Great selection of sweets for kids. I would call ahead and place your order since making them can take a while.
Everything we got today was soo fresh. Bread was amazing and great Cuban sandwiches. Desserts all looked amazing so ill be back for those :)
O.M.G. Absolutely D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. My boyfriend moved here from Ohio and I am a native Floridian. Taking him to the Tampa icons. You did not let me down.
Fantastic local bakery. Enjoyed it so much I went back the next day to try more. Had a sponge cake/flan pastry that was top notch. Good Cuban sandwich, but the stuffed potato (a crochette) and devil crab cake were the best items on the food menu. They have a unique canoli filling that is sweeter than anything else I've ever had in a canoli shell. A must stop if you're in the area.
A little pricey..Empanada $4..
The breakfasy Sandwiches were better priced $6.99.. no sit down service. Pick up and go..
My experience at La Segunda was so excellent, I've been putting off this review because I wanted it to be as perfect as my time there.
La Segunda Bakery was everything I hoped and dreamed it to be. I have a fascination with Cuban culture and food, which is something that we don't have much of where I'm from. I vacationed to Florida and it turned into a bit of a nightmare, but I promised myself that I can't leave without trying Cuban food, especially with a widely known bakery in the area. I made a quick stop to La Segunda before flying back home and fell in love with the Cuban sandwich.
I'm not 100% sure what was in the sandwich, but there was the perfect mix of fresh bread, condiments, and meat. The bread was so good, I was almost tempted to sneak a loaf into my carry-on. Ingredients I don't typically like, such as salami and mustard, came together perfectly. I ordered a flan and tres leches on the side, and both were melt-in-your-mouth-good. The service was incredible, there was a happy vibe there and the employees seemed to actually enjoy their jobs. Other customers were excited to find out that I was enjoying one of my first Cuban sandwiches. It was so good, my Uber driver came into the bakery with me to take some bread home to his family.
La Segunda was a light at the end of a dark tunnel. I was not enjoying my time in Florida at all, but this bakery was enough to make me want to come back again and again.
Food - Fresh & Delicious
Staff - Excellent service with a smile always
A Must For Any Visitors. Multiple locations.
Great experience. Was not too busy and food only took about 15 minutes. Got the Cuban sandwich and an Americano. Both were very good. There is no seating here do pickup/to go only. Definitely recommend stopping here for lunch if you're nearby (or not). They have a few other locations but this is the original.
Best Cuban around. The bakery goods are to die for.
Thank you today for the great food and having mine and my daughter’s back with the rude very uncalled man today. Just another reason we’ve been customers for many years.
Well....this place is everything I thought it would be. Very fine device and food is awesome. The Cuban was amazing and the pastrys are next level. They have been around a while and this is an EXPERIENCE.
AMAZING!
From the food to the pastries to the staff. 5 stars to all. I wish they had the dine in option too but it’s only take away. Great coffee too.
Highly recommended!
I stopped in here a month ago for a quick bite to eat, and I was blown away from the smiling faces, the service, and definitely the food. I recommend the Medianoche!! Great place, and its permanently on my list to always stop by and grab a sandwich.
Hands down the BEST CUBAN SANDWICH on the planet! I just can’t imagine anywhere else being this delicious and I’ve had my fair share of them. Every time I’m in St. Pete, I’m eating one of their sandwiches and ordering an extra to bring back home with me. They are that good 🙂 …
This place has been baking bread for more than 100 years in Tampa. La segunda bakery have the best Cuban sandwich in the state of Florida, trust me am from South Florida. Their Cuban coffee is very good and very strong. They close at 3pm, so make sure you come in before 2:45pm. La Segunda bakery have the best Cuban sandwich of the state of Florida!
Cuban sandwich was good. The pastelitos were large. Not your typical Cuban pastel. None of the 3 cashiers spoke Spanish. One did not know what pastelitos are. The other one did not know how to ring up an expresso. They need basic training and the owner needs to get Spanish speaking staff. Not the real Cuban deal here.
Can't say enough about this hidden gem. All the local Cuban spots get their bread from here early in the morning. Pick your poison. My personal favorite is the cheese toast with eggs and a sugary cafe con leche. Local favorite. Also cater (called in lunch for the team here before (portions are a tad small)). Must go for breakfast while in Tampa!
Authentic Cuban Bakery. Family owned in same location for over 100 years. Sandwichs, salads, hot meat pies, potatoe balls, pastries, cakes, cookies, drinks, Cuban breads, rolls, catering. Line always moves quickly, order ahead or online to pick up. Fast friendly, efficient staff. Ample parking on property and vacant lot across street. We always make this a stop on our way to gulf beaches! Never disappointing!
First time here and I must say it’s really good! A little out off the highway but it’s worth it for that authentic Cuban food.
The best sandwich and pastries! Chance suggested the chocolate chunk cookie and opened up a whole new world for me! Will be back.
Best cuban bread I have every had! This place is great for breakfast or lunch.
Love this place. The butter toast and coffee is my favorite Tampa breakfast!! The place smells the way I want heaven to smell.
One of the best cubans in Tampa. Also, this amazing old place has been here 100 years, so you know they are doing something right.
Wow! Best cuban sandwich I ever tried so far! And I have tried many! If your in Tampa, you have to make the stop! The line was out the door but moved quickly! That was great! Got my sandwich in minutes! I wasn't even down checking the baked goods! Thanks for the experience, I will be back!
Do not leave Tampa without a stop at La Segunda Bakery! You won't regret it. Their pastries and sandwiches are worth the trip alone. Try the Ybor Muffaletta sandwich and a guava flip!
The customer service was great. The cupcakes and exceed my expectations. I truly enjoyed the entire secret spot for cupcakes
Best Cuban bread and sweets...Great breakfast sandwiches too
Their pastries and sandwiches are really tasty! The staff are super friendly as well
So I had been hearing about cuban bread and tried this place and it didn't disappoint friendly staff and great service
Great food. Large assortment of pastries, cookies and cakes. Parking is limited. No dining in. Call ahead ordering. English and Spanish speaking associates.
I would have given 5 stars but those pickles need work, they are very tiny. Very delicious Cuban sandwich. The bread is crunchy and the meat was fresh and tender. Definitely no complaints about the bread and meats but the pickles need some work. The sweet tea is tasty as well.. Do not plan on eating here as it is grab and go. Overall a very good place to eat.
Amazing catering and desserts! Love their Cuban sandwich!
We were in Tampa shopping and decided to make a stop at La Segunda Central Bakery. People were in line (I see why) ordering their food and when it was our turn I just about wanted to order every pastry that they had but ended up buying a box of different pastries and of course their bread and a sandwich. Loved it all will be back and next time I'll take pictures; I forgot to do it this time. ❤️
Great service. Workers were very friendly. Place was packed, but it didn't take long to get in and out. So many things to try!
Great food! From authentic Cuban sandwich to a wide selection of cookies. Service was prompt and friendly, with a personal touch. Highly recommend for a great price with massive portions!
Delicious Cuban sandwich, Cuban bread and the guava pastries are oozing guava goodness. Go early before the tourist crowds. 11:30am Is best.
Easter baaket was so adorable and only 2.99 😍 you definitely get your money worth …
The food here was OK, but too pricey for the offering of only carry out. Be prepared to pay $35+ for breakfast for two thats 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees. The coffees temperature 🌡 was low so don't order a large coffee it'll be cold halfway thru, sandwiches are served luke warm as well. Overall not bad but for the price not worth I think.
Always great food and even better coffee! I absolutely love going to LaSegunda and leaving with fresh bread, pastries, the best Cuban sandwich and a cup of coffee, lol. You never leave with just one thing!
The place is always BOOMING with people, its a must visit Bakery. I recommend you wake up early and come quick for the freshest, softest, and soon to be sold out bread. They've got all sorts of pastries, a selection of sandwiches, coffee, sweets and more. They were also very kind to me and my group when we interviewed them back in 2016 for Hawk News.
Great bread, pastries, sandwiches. I feel compelled to stop in anytime I'm in the neighborhood
The Cuban Bread and Sandwiches will bring you in, and the desserts will keep you coming back
We take yearly to trips to Tampa and La Segunda is our first stop from the airport. While we've never left there disappointed with any of their goods, the Cuban sandwich, in particular, stands out. It is well ahead of the competition and by the far the best Cuban sandwich in town.
Excellent place! Friendly quick service. Great choices for breakfast and lunch. The Cubans is huge with great bread and full of flavor. The guava turnover was very flaky but not too sweet.
This was my first time eating Cuban and this was so so good. I got a sandwich and the sandwich was thick and full of so many different flavors. Coffee is really good and the pastries are magical. Not only do they look good but they taste amazing! Get the Flan Slice!! Also the cinnamon rolls are very large and fluffy and moist. The guava turnover is tasty. I don't like guava but that was made really well. Staff is very friendly and hospitable. Would definitely come back again! ❤👌🏻
Best Cuban sandwich I’ve ever had!!!
Very friendly staff and fast service. Would 100% recommend!
Small Cuban bakery with amazing Cuban bread, nice sweets, and good Cuban sandwiches. They can be painfully slow at lunch time and I had to take off a star for waiting 40 minutes today. There are way better devil crabs and slightly better Cubans in the area for the price (the ham is cold and tastes cheap but the pork and bread are on point), but this place is a local institution.
Easily THE BEST Cuban sandwich I have ever had!
There's no place to sit and eat, is a bakery to buy and take. I had a pastry with guava and cheese,.wasn't bad but just barely ok almost not ok, don't know if it was fresh but it looked like it was from the day before, the coffee we had a cappuccino and even though the coffee is not a premium one, the flavor was rich and strong so that was good not exceptional but good enough... now the steak sandwich was amazing really good, I will definitely go there again for that one. Not super expensive but not cheap either, those 3 for over 22 dollars, but the sandwich is really big I had 1 cut if 2 and me and wife were full, if had 1 whole for lunch it will be more than enough
My brother took me here for the first time today. Clean, friendly staff, great food and tasty lickies n chewies... DOPE!
I’ve been going to this bakery off and on since the 70’s and my late father since the 40’s. Today I brought my son for the first time. We ordered Cuban sandwiches and palos de queso. Unfortunately, they didn’t have crab cakes nor stuffed potatoes. I guess we showed up too late. I highly recommend this bakery. The food is delicious.
Looked this up on Google and saw a lot of great reviews, and when we pull up the parking lot was filled, and i understand why! Such great inexpensive food & such a friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone wanting to try something new in this area.
Every Cuban Sandwich I got from La Segunda was perfectly made and tasted awesome! I would highly recommend going there!
Would have given 5 stars had I not have to wait almost an hour for an order that was paid for in advance and placed 2 days earlier. Order was not ready at the appointed time. La Segunda is a great establishment and normally provides fantastic service.
What happens when you have been doing something for the last 127 years? You create excellence. Trust me, enjoy.
As a fifth generation Tampanian La Segunda is my preferred choice for Cuban bread. Growing up it was not uncommon for there to be an 18" loaf on the counter and slices of it served with almost every meal. I recently was stationed in New Jersey and didn't realize how much I took having access to Cuban bread for granted. A few days ago I got desperate and decided to order some bread from La Segunda online. I ordered it with 2 day shipping. There was an issue with my address that I supplied and the General Manager Romelia Corrales emailed me to confirm the address was correct. We went back and forth via email several times getting my address situated and Romelia was very professional, polite and very quick to respond to ensure there was no delay in my order. The bread arrived last night and my heart melted. The bread was package perfectly and came undamaged. To my surprise the bread wrapper has instructions for freezing and reheating so I stuck (3) loafs in the freezer and have (3) loafs out to make sandwhiches with to bring into work to share a piece of Tampa with my co-workers. Again, thank you La Segunda for being such an important part of this Tampanian's life and thank you Romelia for being so excellent to work with. I look forward to placing my next order.
Best Cuban sandwich I have ever had!! Everyone in the store was friendly and helpful, we got 7 different things, all of which were fantastic. Highly recommend, we will be back.
I love the place beautiful ladies beautiful foods and lots off munchies. Great tasting food.
An absolute icon of Tampa. Everything here is good and every member of the staff knows what they're doing. The coffee is good. The pastries are insane. The Cuban Sandwich is obviously perfect.
So cool and so much history. I’ll let the pictures do the talking here :) gotta try it
Tampa's one of MUST VISITs place. Everything about Guava here is great. No comment.
Both the food and the service are PHENOMENAL!!! Do NOT go if you are on a diet. The bakery items are amazing and you will want to eat everything. Definitely recommend this place.
The absolute BEST Cuban sandwich my husband & I have ever had. We just happened to come across this place while searching for something to eat, and we are so glad we did. The food was incredible & the desserts were moist & delicious. My husband had rainbow cake & I had a blueberry muffin. We have zero complaints.
We absolutely LOVED this place! The cheese turnovers (quesitos) were amazing, as were the cookies. The people were polite and welcoming, and they offered excellent service. Oh, and make sure you try anything they offer with guava! This little gem is worth a visit if you truly enjoy great pastries at a community bakery. Highly recommend.
I love the food and baked goods this place has to offer but the price has went up.
Wonderful bakery just be careful, prices add up quickly
Literally my favorite food experience I've ever had anywhere I've ever been! My husband and I were in town for four days, and found ourselves at this charming, historic bakery all four days because we could not get enough.
For starters, service was absolute top notch. We were recognized after each visit from the day before which made each visit extra special. Being from the midwest, I had no knowledge on what to expect from a Cuban bakery. Staff was super patient and extremely helpful with recommending their favorite items. We are looking forward to our next visit to Tampa so we can get more delicious pastries, cakes, and the most delicious sandwiches I've ever had on the most incredible bread (traditional Cuban bread & media noche bread)!
Very busy unassuming bakery and sandwich shop. If you want a prepared sandwich, it's probably best to order online and go pick it up. We had an assortment of bakery goods which were so excellent that we didn't have time to take pictures of them because they just flew in to our mouths. Meat pie, empanada, quesito and fruit flip: all excellent.
This place is Tampa. Spanish stores and restaurants get their bread from here. It's very good. Devil Crabs are awesome too. Full bakery
the best bakery in Tampa! loved the eclair
This place, despite it’s historical value, remains humble to its origins. I got a guava turnover and 1/2 loaf of cuban bread for ~$5, and when I tried the turnover it was definitely unlike what I’ve had. Very flakey, buttery, and the filling was amazing. Highly recommend, great value AND great food. 👍 …
Love their vegetarian options. Their avocado toast was amazing. They have a special hot sauce, I'd recommend to use that for your sandwiches.
It was truly Amazing!!! Everything looked great, but the MOJO Chicken sandwich was Amazing!!!
When there's a line out the door, you know it's going to be good.
Awesome bakery with a lot of history, the food is fresh and the original Cuban sandwich totally lived up to the hype!! The bread is outstanding with a nice crust and the house pork with ham totally make this sandwich! The employees were quick and friendly as well! Only down side no parking..so call ahead and enjoy!
Awesome food. I recommend the El Centro, Devil crab and a Cafe con leche!
I found this place with my son, on father day. it was small but looks great they have pastries and they offer few breakfast sandwiches and same on the lunches. my son loves cuban sandwiches . we both shared a Cuban sandwich it was very tasty. my son told me from all the other Cuban Sandwiches he had that this one was the best . so he wants me to take him back . so I will take him again. on the pastries I never had a cinnamon stick well their version . it was delicious its not a normal version the I am use to , but now it is . you should go and try it yourself .
Great sandwiches, great pastries, good cuban bread loaves. A Tampa institution.
Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I ordered a meal using door dash and wanted to pick it up instead of having it delivered.
In the door dash they never updated the order status from preparing order to completed order.
I was parked outside waiting. I go inside after 40 minutes and my order is complete and waiting on a shelf... Ice cold, no longer fresh.
I would have picked up my order immediately if they had updated door dash that my order was ready.
Best Turkey and Cuban sandwiches and studded potato.
Ordering is straight forward, service speed was ok considering the crowd they had! The food was DELICIOUS once we made it home to chow down!
We love the bread. It freezes great. We buy for the month and freeze so always on hand.
It would be nice to have a dining room. This is only a to-go place.
Hands down best Cuban I’ve ever had! The bread was buttery and flaky, pork was well-seasoned and tender. I saved half my sandwich and ate it in the middle of the night! LOL So good! I also had a espresso and guava pastry. Very impressed.
The best bakery around!!! I love all of the treats they have that are baked in house!
I recently tried this place for the first time after hearing all good reviews from my coworkers, and it did not disappoint. The food is delicious and my breakfast sandwich was large enough to last two meals for me, not to mention the cafe con leche is amazing. The staff were all super friendly and it’s just got a great atmosphere in there. It’s a great place to get breakfast on the weekends with family or even during the week if you have a few minutes to spare before work. I highly recommend giving it a try, you might just find your new favorite breakfast spot
As a Miami native, i feel right at home. From the smells, to the music playing in the background. Do not get intimidated by the exterior and neighborhood of the location; this is a hole in the wall that's worth the trip
Excellent. Yummy! I will definitely be back.
Absolutely phenomenal Cuban Sandwich. Currently my favorite place to grab a Cuban. Warm, fresh baked in-house, buttery bread. Perfectly cooked shredded pork. High quality salami, ham, and Swiss cheese. They do not skimp on the amount of these ingredients either. Great dill pickle chips too. This is now a regular stop for me for lunch.
And speaking of the fresh Cuban bread, I am now always grabbing a couple of loaves every time I stop in.
Cuban American visiting from Miami. Flavor well balanced best media noche in the WORLD!!! Service superb
BEST CUBAN BREAD! I have lived in many places, this is the only place where I get Cuban bread. Not only do they have great bread, but pastries. This place does get busy, but it is constantly moving, so it doesn't take long to get your treats.
Beautiful people beautiful place ,my wife and I love this place historical Tampa landmark, absolutely beautiful!
Awesome coffee I ever tried in my life, brownie that I took tasted very good as well, you have to wait a little bit longer here than in other places but believe me it s worth it, I couldnt try other things here but for sure if I ever come back, I will pass again and order something esle here, and by the way the staff here is very kind and smiling))
My 1st experience with La Segunda Bakery wasn't the best and I did leave a review and Blake the manager responded very quickly. He did apologize the for mistake. My coworker and I did order again and Blake did make sure that the food was correct and the food was amazing so was the coffee. My coworker and I will be definitely ordering again. 🙃 Thank you Blake for everything
Pretty awesome place! Absolutely love the Cuban food especially the Cuban sandwich. Pastries are top notch and the staff is quite friendly. The only draw back is parking as it does get a bit congested and it does take a while to get your order. Otherwise an amazing place I would recommend to a friend.
Cuban and Patrinostro were awesome. Bread was light with just enough weight for a satisfying bite. We also had the caffe con leche along with a guava flip and quesito. All were part of a Monday lunch special (sandwich, drink, side) for $9.99. Delicious, perfectly priced and served up with a smile.
Very good food. Service was exceptional. Fast paced carry out situation that can be a little confusing for a first timer but the online order option works great and they’re so friendly the confusion that may be in figuring out where to be is quickly squashed. We just picked up lunch and the Cuban sandwiches were great!
There's two locations, you want to go to this one. The Cuban is good but the other options are just as good if not better, despite what I said. The Muffaleta is brilliantly seasoned and it's complimented deliciously by the cured meats, my favorite of the three being capicola. I also had the patrinistro which is a great Cuban style deli sandwich great if you want something more classic sub style for lunch. Even for ten dollars you can expect to bring home leftovers if you take it to work, or even split it with another person.
I won't even get in to the pastries. There's no way I could explain the expertly baked goods and cakes in detail that would do them justice. I went three times during my fantastic five days in Tampa, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of the locals
To call this a bakery does not adequately describe what this wonderful little venue provides. We arrived around 11 AM and the small order area was mobbed. Besides baked goods, they also offer sandwiches and the best Cuban coffee ever. There are trays of baked goods and confections, many of which I have never seen before and all of which I wanted. Despite the crowd, the efficient staff kept our wait to less than 10 minutes, all of which was taken up trying to decide what to get. The prices are very reasonable and I would expect it would take me many return trips just to sample everything that struck me as delicious.
Best in Tampa for sure. Best cinnamon rolls for absolute favorite...
Been around since 1915 awesome everything homemade Delicious ethnic food Clean and perfect
Best Cuban bread ever and unbelievably reasonable. But you can also get take away foods including their great Cuban and fancy full sweet items. Lots of specialty cakes and cookies. No one should be disappointed.
I have been going here since I was a child. They have the best everything..Cuban bread, pastries, and desserts. The Cuban sandwiches are the best in Tampa, now that I’m vegetarian I get their veggie sub or breakfast sandwich, which are still the best around! Very welcoming and friendly staff. They get busy but it is worth the wait.
The Cuban bread and pasteles de guayaba were excellent. Wished they had a sit down area.
It was excellent. We got a 3 foot long Cuban bread for $2.50. My wife grabbed a guava and cheese pastry and I grabbed a coconut cake and it was all sublime. A real taste of the Cuban culture. Would definitely go there. It was cheap and delicious.
It’s a classic and a must-try for locals and tourists alike. Amazing bread, sandwiches, and pastries; it can get a little crazy inside when it’s busy, but well worth it. Tampa food history.
Great food. Order ahead because it is always packed. Thank you to the server that made sure I was happy although they didn't have what I originally wanted😀 …
There isn't a better place to get an authentic Cuban!!! We ordered a Cuban and Tom's Turkey on pressed Cuban bread on our way to a hotel stay. That's about all we needed to keep us full of delicious food during our first stay away since March of 2020. We circled back on our way home for a couple loaves of the best Cuban bread you can find on the West side of Florida! Delicious! Don't forget their pastries!! I'm addicted to their Guava turnovers!!
This Is So Much More Than Just A Bakery. This is Tampa History. My Father brought me here for years as a child. I'm now coming here with my Great Grandchildren. There Pastries are Second To None. As Well as the Fresh Cuban Bread is Famously Great. You Truly Should Check Out The Cuban Sandwiches which are Made to order. Enjoy it with a Great cup of Coffee con Leche. Every Single Thing They Serve is made Fresh and with Pride. No Matter What You Choose, You will be certain to Enjoy your Selection and the Service is as Good as the Food.
Having lived in Tampa area for 5 years and now living in Indiana... to find out I could have this amazing Cuban bread shipped to us made my family very happy. As a result of my mistake, my first order was a disappointment, but that’s where the amazing customer service of this company (Romelia) separated themselves from most businesses. I received my new shipment of bread overnight and immediately sampled it... it is AWESOME!!!! Customer for life!!!
Terrific cafe con lechie and bakery
Hands down the best Cuban sandwich I’ve ever had. Also had a bite of the Media Noche and it was ridiculous. I usually stay away from any sandwich that has pork because it’s either just ok or I hate it. La Segunda nailed it. You are forgiven for not having croquetas.
Good Cuban. Good coffee . Be prepared to wait on a Sunday morning.
The sandwiches and desserts are AMAZING!! The staff is very friendly. The line is out the door, so that tells you that it's worth the wait and very popular.
Bread is next level delicious 😋 and their Cubans are to die for! We buy their bread at Publix too. Love La Segunada- a beloved Tampa Institution! …
Counter girls were very helpful and took the time to explain what everything was. Everything was delicious.
Fantastic foods, the empanada and guava cheese pastry excellent. Bought a Cuban loaf for sandwich tonight.
My personal question to find out who has the best Cuban Sandwich. I haven't had one in years and I have to say the sandwich was AWESOME!!! I ate is soooo fast🤣🤣🤣...real pork, a lot of meat, flavor was out of this world. Price is nice also ($9.99). On Monday you can get this with chips or cookie and drink. I also bought their freshly baked Cuban Bread and it was sooooo soft!!! The bakery products had my mouth watering and the price point is very reasonable. I'm glad & mad that I live so far from this place but it was definitely worth the trip. Up next, The Floridian, followed by West Tampa Sandwich Shop & finally Columbia Restaurant
Fyi...I got there at 2:15 (45 minutes before losing at 3pm) and they were very busy out the door but the line was fast so no complaints here). You can order online but I HIGHLY advise to first find a parking spot (my only complaint) and enjoy the experience. I'm definitely coming back to try all their sweets, Café Con Leche, etc.
Nice little bakery in Ybor Tampa. Highly recommend the Cuban sandwich. If you like grilled cheese sandwiches get the buttered Cuban bread and ask to add cheese.
The best Cuban sandwich I have ever had. You HAVE TO EAT IT. The bread has an amazing crunchy texture but soft inside and buttery flavor. The special sauce is so good.
The Original Tampa made Cuban bread and the Best Cuban bread one can buy in Tampa. Service was great, order was complete and ready very quickly, also their pastries are also top notch.
I ordered the Cuban sandwich, since I figured it was a must do. The sandwich was delicious, tasted fresh, and it wasn't too heavy like some Cubans can be. I also ordered a half pound of the assorted cookies, and I would say the same thing period The cookies tasted fresh and delicious, and they were very light but with plenty of flavor! The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because it was very busy and it to get my order. That said, everyone that worked there was very friendly, and considering how busy they were, it didn't take very long to get my order. I will definitely return, and possibly increase my rating!
The devil crabs had no flavor. They use to be the go to place for devil crabs. Don't waste your money or time now. The cinnamon rolls although you could tell were fresh made also no flavor, but were soft. The cream horns were terrific and worth the price. The apple turnovers although nice and large had very little apples in them not worth the money.
So good. Loved the almond crescent cookies. Chewy and wonderful. My husband had a huge chocolate concoction called a bon bon that he loved. Highly recommend this place, but apparently this is really well-known because it was steady traffic.
One of the best Cuban sandwiches I’ve ever had. Anyone can get the bread crispy and the cheese melted, but what makes this place the best is their juicy, flavorful meat and delicious bread.
This was one of the highlights of out trip to the St Petersburg area! We enjoyed a coffee while waiting for our order. We shared a Cuban Sandwich which is enough for 2. We also enjoyed a couple of bakery items that were fantastic! I loved my guava pastry. The cuban bread made here is used all over the area by the top restaurants.
I love walking into a place where #1 it smells amazing! #2 it’s packed & #3 it’s a ticket machine!!! Call me weird but this place is amazing from fresh cooked food to the deserts! The display is amazing. Not to mention the food was super good. I also work for door dash and they are timely and considerate of us drivers to. Will definitely be back and recommend this place to anyone. Great job guys
An Ybor staple!! Authentic Hispanic sandwiches. Never really tried their sweets other than cookies which are always fresh and tasty.
The hot pressed sandwiches are friggin delicious omg. I ordered the cheesesteak and they gave me a turkey sandwich. Everything was so good I wasn’t even upset. I just placed another order for a cheesesteak and still ate the turkey. Smh I know I know lmbo!!
The place was busy on a recent Saturday trip, the food was good, my wife loved the cafe con leches, the pastries we had were excellent, I had the apple turnover and she had the guava and cheese. The turnover was standard fare done very well, the interesting thing about the guava/cheese was it didn't really taste like a sweet. Initially I wasn't very impressed, but it seemed to get more interesting as you continued eating it. I would definitely try some other items there that I hadn't eaten before after that guava/cheese pastry.
A pilgrimage to the heart of Cuban bread baking in Tampa.
I am at a loss for words that adequately describe the experience.
Been a Tampa area resident all my life and just had my first Cuban from here this week. Can’t believe I’ve been missing out. Best Cuban ever!
When I tell y'all this was my first time eating they cuban sandwich ohhhh myyy God that sandwich was the bomb everything was extremely fresh from the bread to the lettuce to the meat everything was extremely freshly made beyond amazing they will be seeing more of me lolol I highly recommend them y'all
My wife and I went to get the Cuban toast today and they were absolutely DELICIOUS 😋. Even though the place was busy the service is fast. I would recommend it anytime. So far this is the best authentic Cuban sandwich and bread 🥖 in Tampa Florida. …
So far one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life! Turkey, bacon, avocado. WOW. Can't wait to try others, especially their Cuban. So many treats to choose from, too. Love the authenticity and atmosphere. My new favorite place! Yum!
Local bakery with fresh baked goods. I recommend ordering ahead as it’s usually pretty busy. Decent amount of parking and the food is competitively priced. One of the best Cuban sandwiches in Tampa.
I no longer live in Tampa, but when I come to town I will go to this bakery. It brings me back to my child hood. Great pasteries, Sandwiches and Fantastic Cuban bread, the best in the state of Florida.
Amazing and fresh. The breakfast sandwich may have been the best I've ever had, even though it was just egg and cheese. The best Cuban bread around with a healthy dose of butter probably helped... Well worth a visit!
Great place for Cuban bread and pastries. The sandwiches are also very good. Staff is always very friendly!
Love the place. Smells heavenly. Perfect bread and delicious everything. Anglos don't pay the same as locals. You charged the person in from of us a very different price than us. Ever heard of bilingual? And for that i give you 3. And drop the attitude. If i drive all the way to ybor, and i am polite, least you could do is be professional! And i am not affiliated with anyone... But i ve encountered this almost on every trip there. Shame.
I'm not sure whats going on here lately but they may need to rethink whoever is in charge of quality control. The last 2 times I got bread here it was a bust. One was hard as a rock like it was day old and the last time I went their was a hair baked into the bread sticking out on top. Literally the first chunk I broke off had 3 inches of hair sticking out. I drive from St Pete to get here so I'm definitely on the fence of making the trip again. They make me wanna inspect their bread before I walk away.
So I'd heard about this place from a popular youtuber @shadetreesurgeon and had to try it!! When I got there I thought the decoration inside was very cool and the service was outstanding!! The guy that helped me was very polite and made me feel super welcome, I didn't catch his name but it was lunch time 3-15-21. I mentioned it was my first time and he helped me pick it my meal and suggested side for me to try. Went with a Cuban as it was meant to be a chocolate chip cookie and at the suggestion of another customer a guava pastry! Man it was all SOO GOOD!! I will DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!
I’m obsessed with their Cuban sandwiches. They’re the best in the Tampa Bay, in my opinion. My husband and father-in-law love their potato balls and pretty much all of their desserts that they have on display there. Definitely check them out!
El mejor Cuban bread, sandwiches, sweets n more in the heart of Ybor City area. 15th n 15th.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
To the owner. You very welcome from your Thanks. Amen
I am so very happy with my stop here to get the very best Cuban sandwich I have ever had in my life!!! I hope to get back one more time before I have to leave Tampa.
Really great Cuban coffee and sandwich.
The best Cuban bread ever. However, very disappointed the customer organization today, really it took almost an hour to buy 4 loads of bread and it was not more than 15 people at the store including pick up orders. Picking number it was not effective for all services.
We have lived in Tampa many years and cannot figure why it took us so long to find our way to La Segunda. The Cuban sandwiches are top notch and the bread is delicious as well. Yes, we'll be back and there will be some of their lucious pastries in our order next time.
My first boyfriend introduced me to this cornerstone and treasure right around the corner from our home in Ybor city...I love everything about the place...I now live in Saint Petersburg and can't wait until the opening of the new location in Saint Petersburg...they are the bestest ♥ and everything tastes great 😊 …
If you have not been to this place you are missing out!!! The sandwiches are great. The bread is really good.
Fresh and delicious! This is a great place for breakfast or lunch on the go.
Awesome little Cuban bakery and sandwich shop. Got two cafes con leche, cinnamon roll, cinnamon twist, and guava and cheese turnover. Had awesome looking desserts and cookies as well as a full menu of lunch and breakfast sandwiches. I could go back here again and again!
I’ve been coming to the bakery in 15th st for many years. Sheila is especially wonderful and is always quick and pleasant to deal with.
Great sandwiches, they have taken great care in protecting their employees and you. One person in the store, you order and wait outside or in your car. BOOM. Done. Try the sweets, wonder to behold. The apple turnovers have the wing span of a 747. Drizzled with a perfect amount of dressing. Take it home , warm it up and enjoy you Cuban sandwich and turnover on the porch with a piping cup of joe.
Best Cuban bread in town!! The "old style" Cuban bread too!! Every time I come into tampa I have to stop and grab 2 loads to bring home. Its worth the wait to get your Cuban sandwiches also!! So yummy pressed. Reminds me of growing up in Tampa. Will be back over and over again!!
I definitely recommend this place their bread and pastries are so tasty and the aroma in the shop of fresh baked goods wow!! I ended up buying more than my list. Lol. It a small store but with a bang of great tasting baked fresh 😋 pastries yum! …
Eating breakfast here was all good, but the price was… a little bit high. Media noche sandwich for $9.99 was higher than expected. Also the empanadas for $3.99 each also expensive for what it is. The coffee… well i was expecting something waaay better. Not a real cuban coffee. A little disappointed of this place.
I visited today for first time to celebrate their anniversary. I ordered a Cuban and some turnovers to go. Needless to say there were many in there today at lunchtime but the staff worked efficiently to help everyone. It is probably the Best Cuban I've had ... and I've tried many! The turnovers were scrumptious! This definitely will be a go to location for Cubans !!!
Definitely one of my favorite places, especially for the guilty indulgences. Never fails to delight the taste buds everytime. The chicken mojo is my go to with a blueberry muffin and guava turnovers.
I love love love their Cuban sandwich. Best place for a real Cuban sandwich. it’s a busy week place but worth the wait.
Authentic Ybor since 1915. Get the Cuban sandwich!! Honorable mention to the guava turnover and the tres leches. Pair it with an Americano. So good!!
Great Bakery, amazing team working here, delicious food they have, I'll definitely be back...
I’ve had a lot of fabulous Cuban sandwiches from you guys over the years, but today was hands down the best Cuban sandwich I’ve ever had at your establishment or any other!! I enjoyed and savored every last bite! Thank you!!
The Cuban bread was excellent. Excellent selection of cakes and cookies and pastries. Prices on point. The only downside no where to eat and it took 20 minutes to make my sandwich so be prepared very busy.
Oh my! So very good. From the desserts to the breads to the sandwiches, it's a dream.
Fantastic pastries. It'll be hopping, but it's worth the wait. We went here just for the dessert and I want to go back already because we left so much to try. Unlike the Kennedy location, there's not much room to eat, but plenty of options around if you look and like to eat in the open.
I love getting a Cuban and two sugar cookies ❤️
Mini Cuban bread are great snack especially when staying at the hotel. Pasties are yummy. I hear the Cuban sandwich is highly recommend. Next time.
Nice bakery near the Hillsborough Community College!! We order a Cuban bread and it was long and soft, plus a personal size upside down cake and lastly a huge Cuban sandwich big enough for 2 people 🙃!! Love it …
Stopped here for a breakfast bite after a night out in Ybor. Ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese. The bread was fresh baked and perfectly toasted. The egg cooked just right, the bacon crispy, and the toppings I ordered prepared with care. The staff was extremely welcoming and the space well maintained. It’s clear those at La Segunda take pride in their food and their establishment, and for that I want to say thank you.
I went yesterday to get two cubans and some guava pastries. Everything was awesome! The best cuban I have had in this area!
Worth the wait in line for the Cuban alone! Have a bunch of options and all look amazing! Will definitely go back to try more things
Had an apple flip, sausage and egg breakfast and ordered a Cuban sandwich for later. It was all amazing and such a great price.
Great mom and pop feel bakery. Has American and Latin inspired items. The cafe con leche is amazing! Sandwiches are also very good. Do it as a breakfast for on the go.
Used to be a loyal Brocato's customer until they jacked up their prices yet again, so I decided to hunt for a new place to get a good cuban when I found La Segunda. This was the best tasting cuban sandwich I've ever had, and the fresh bread was heavenly. We also got a couple cannolis that were also delicious!
Unfortunately they didn't have any stuffed potatoes when I was there but can't wait to try those!
I will definitely be back, I only wish I knew about this place sooner!
Came here on a Saturday AM. Bakery had way too many people. The way they were processing customers was disorganized as hell. Had to wait 20+ mins for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Whatever they served me was not a cortadito. Sorry, if it’s in a full 12oz cup, that ain’t it! Disappointed. Not with the flan slice...that was delicious.
Bottom line: cafecito at Cuban bakery has to be on point, streamline your serving process by allowing customers to walk-in only to place their order & either have someone from the bakery run the orders out to the cars or text the customers when their order is ready for pickup. This will reduce congestion inside the bakery.
Definitely recommend. Was in Tampa for a few days so we decided to try this 100+ year old bakery. Cuban sandwich, Cuban bread, guava pastry, guava and cheese all very good. If I'm ever in the area again definitely coming back.
Food excellent got there after lunch, deviled crabs sold out. Cuban sandwich best I have had
The sandwiches and pastries are great, but I can’t say the same about the customer service. I work for a coffee company and my husband picks up the same order from them every Sunday morning for our shop. When Meme was there it was great, she had our order ready every time on time, once she left the order kept being missed. No one would take responsibility, the manger was rude as well. This past Sunday we called to remind them about our order and to let them know we were on the way and the girl on the phone was still rude. I don’t like to give bad reviews, but going to the manger didn’t fix anything. I’m hoping this will help get some problems fixed at this location.
Best Cuban bread around I go there sometimes just to get the bread they also make sandwiches and have a bakery with pastries and stuff I would highly recommend this place very authentic
Cuban are absolutely perfect we got four 4S for one with extra double pork the other sandwiches were so good but couldn't even tell the difference in which one had the extra meat don't mess with perfection to enjoy what they give you just the way it is
Without a doubt...it’s the best place to buy pastries and Cuban sandwiches. The staff is always friendly and the food is great! You can’t dine-in, but the south Tampa location has a dinning area. Still, the Ybor location is #1 and the South Tampa is #2.
I love their pastries. But prices are a little exaggerated especially for pastries..
Bread is fresh. Customer service is somehow poor. I would love to see ONLY Spanish stuff. Overall experience is good.
I recommend it. Hope they stay open little late. 😉 too.
Delicious Sandwiches with their famous cuban bread. Always crowded, but they have a system for each customer to pull a number. Large orders should probably be placed over the Phone ahead of time. Parking available right in front which is great. Good prices and great variety of different bakery items to Take Home!!
We went 3 times on our vacation. Very delicious. Cuban sandwich. Almond crescent cookies out of this world. And the bread out of the oven crusty and soft. Take out only. Worth the trip
The food and pastries are delicious. All
staff are extremely polite and attentive to all that attend. Bruce, the manager, was professional and courteous when resolving issues. I highly recommend anyone to come and get an almond croissant. It is a hidden gem.
Great, small, established Cuban bakery and sandwich shop. Order ahead or be ready to wait. It's definitely worth the wait if you don't order ahead. It's meant to take and go, there is no seating except for one bench.
The have a history behind them. The bread and pastries are fresh, and the staff seems formal and business-like. Personally though, I'm sorry to say, I found the selections a bit lacking, and I've had much better tasting bread and pastries. Not bad, just not superior in any way.
Authentic! Delicious! Lunch options are all great. You get what you pay for but it's so worth it. Try the Fire bird sandwich if you like spicy. Amazing bakery with sweets also.
If you love sandwiches or pastries or maybe haven’t tried a Cuban sandwich yet.. this is one of the places to be! Definitely a good size sandwich for an inexpensive price too
The food is great here. They actually have real cuban bread, which seems like a given but so many places try to pass off other breads. The bread makes the sandwich so don't call it a Cuban if it ain't on cuban bread! Sorry pet peeve of mine. The place has been around 100 years which says something in itself. It was $4 for those cookies just to give you an idea of price. I don't remember the cost of the sandwich but around $8 or so. They have a seriously impressive bakery with pretty pastries, cakes, flan and cookies and you can buy a loaf of cuban bread to take home. Can't think of anything bad to say except sometimes there's a wait but that's cuz they're good
Fantastic place!!! Taste is amazing!!! Friendly staff!
We had great Cuban sandwiches. I did some research before coming to Tampa and found some positive reviews for La Segunda. Well deserved. Only complaint is no seating for eating in.
Oh my. Read about this place online. Came all the way from Scotland especially. Well.....not really. A mouthwatering array of baked goodies! I had the Cuban sandwich which was AMAZING! I thought $9 was expensive but the sandwich was HUGE and jam packed with meats, so a bargain actually. I'll be going back before I go back home.
Bread was so good and delicious. The crunchy outside and the soft inside was mesmerizing and mouth watering. I had to get a full loaf and take it home. We had a cuban sandwich and a media noche which were so well made. We will definitely be going again!
Heavenly pastries, delicious sandwiches (best Cuban in Tampa area) and friendly staff. Only problem is I have to come back at lest 75 times to sample everything!
If you want to get your day started with a smile on your face. This is the place to be at! Every morning that I eat a breakfast sandwich here I have a great morning. The service is always fast and the food is always hot and ready. Also they have amazing Café con Leche.
Love this Cuban Deli in Ybor. I order pressed Cuban sandwich with everything on it. The Cuban bread is to delicious and remains fresh for a long time because they put the palm in it. Desserts, I don't know where to begin. the guava and cream cheese pastry is very sweet. Slice of coconut cake is my favorite. Neighborhood Cuban deli establishment for many years
Great food. Food ready on time.
Great cuban bakery top quality
I fell in love with this bakery immediately, it offers a great selection of pastries and coffee and is exceptionally charming. I would recommend every item I've tried here (from the cuban bread to the pineapple crumb cake to the guava pastries and many more), it's my favorite breakfast spot in the city.
A very nice Baker that also offers bread to buy in large and small loafs, deli style sandwiches, coffee drinks, and fountain drinks. I'm very glad I found this adorable bakery. They had quick service, provided a comfortable atmosphere, and have very friendly staff, and offer almost any bakery item you could think of along with their own signature specialties.
Best cuban bread in town! Awesome pastries, my kids love going in and picking pastries here and the guava and cheese are delicious. Their sandwiches and soup of the day is great too. No complaints. Great place to get some food, pies and cakes.
This was an amazing find. Located in the outskirts of Ybor City, it was a great place for lunch and bakery. Everything was delicious, and was so much food, some sandwiches could easily feed two. However, I tried to go on the weekend and I was unsuccessful on getting in, I went on Thursday afternoon about 230 and it was just incredible . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Great sandwiches 🥪 and baked items. …
A sweet hidden place in ybor city
Best Cuban Sandwich anywhere!!
This establishment bake the best Cuban bread in Tampa and most probably in any US states. Any left over, you can keep it in the freezer and reheat late on...and will taste as fresh as the first day it was baked. Outstanding.
First timer.. Great food, large portions and everyone was so friendly.
We will be back.
Enjoy your day!
R u buying sweet bread and bread is ok but the sadnwich expect something wrong good sandwich but some dont due the job iam ask 3 times for my sandwich dont body made so ist 30 minutes latter i have my sandwich well
The pastries here are excellent, but they also have what I've found to be one of the best Cuban sandwiches in Tampa. We would stop here at least twice a week for lunch while on a work assignment in the area for several months in 2018.
Wow! 1st time here yesterday 😍 I ordered online a breakfast sandwich big enough to feed two people. I also ordered a guava & cheese pastry, wedding cookies & a cafe con leche! Amazing service the girl at the counter was very friendly, definitely will be back! Sorry I forgot to take pics but they wouldn't even do justice to how good & fresh they are. P.s. I went at like 12pm & still super fresh!
Got 2 sandwiches from there. First time I got the Tony’s Turkey. It was ok, but good enough it to eat the whole thing without complaint. The second time I got the Turkey, Bacon & Avocado sandwich. Horrible mistake. There was absolutely no avocado or tomatoes on the entire sandwich and it was completely smothered in ranch. I got through a quarter of it and threw it out. A friend did offer their Cuban bread they had gotten and that was better than the sandwich.
Enjoyed the Cuban sandwich, although it wasn't pressed as I asked, and the Cuban bread was delicious. Plenty of sweets to choose from and very popular. It takes awhile to get served and has a small parking lot.
And I thought "most" Cubans were created equal. First time. Damned good Cuban, pricey, but VERY tasty. There's some magic in their bread and that spicy mustard.
I normally take pics, but it didn't last long. Recommended.
Legit Cuban coffee and pastries. Stopped by for breakfast and was delicious. One pro tip. If you get the breakfast sandwich it is huge. Easily enough to split with a companion. If you do that grab a guava/cheese turnover or slice of flan ;)
If you truly want authentic cuban, this is the place to go. You know the bread is amazing when my favorite Restaurant Chucherias in Daytona uses their bread for their Cuban Sandwiches. The Guava and Cheese pastry is the best I have ever tried and that includes Bakeries in Miami. Its busy and adhering to social distancing guidelines, so expect to wait. A must go to when your in Tampa and that's saying a lot because there is great food in Tampa.
The Cuban bread here is unbeatable. The place is always packed, so be patient and be sure to take a number when you get in. Come early, or they may be out of what your craving. They have a great order ahead option on the website as well.
This bakery was great with a fresh variety of pastries and homemade donuts. Service was good and coffee delicious. I got a Cuban breakfast sandwich which was delicious too. I find all these kind of places in Florida are a bit pricey though. But you get what you pay for.
The bakery was clean. It was not as busy and we just waited over 4 minutes for somebody to take care of us. An empanada is $3. Which is a little bit overpriced. The only type of cheese they have is Provolone, Swiss or White American. They do not carry any other type of cheese! If you're allergic to white cheese you are out of luck.
This place is so great! i follow them on instagram too and they had posted their specialty coffees available only at a certain location. I didn't see that and I went down the road to the nearest location and asked for it - they were confused but were so kind to still make it for me! Needless to say, the Almond Milk Lavender Macchiato was just exquisite! Thanks very much and sorry for the trouble!! :)
Great deserts at reasonable prices. The had the cuban cakes to order. Awesome cookies, not very sweet but tasty. The sandwiches were a good price. Try one "pressed" (heated/toasted). The mustard dressing made the one i tried very good. Turkey and cheese. If it says other breads you can request the cuban or sweet bread for different flavor. The place was full of customers and busy. The employees were friendly and made time to talk with the customers. Great place give it a try there are two in the area..
I have visit the ybor city location many of times over the years, even from a child. I attended Ybor Elementary School and now in my 60's.😉 Still visiting this location.
I remember buying cookies and my parents going there for the bake goods. The food, bakery items, drinks and staff is all Awesome still after all these years .
I had been cravings a Cuban sandwich however due to minor dental work I opt to have 11$ Hot Media Noche sandwhich instead. Mmmgood, however my bread was partially soggy. When in the area again. I will visit again. I want my bread toasted next time. 😁
I agree this was worth the detour. My Cuban sandwich was fresh and tender. I see why people rave about La Segunda.
Oops, the carrot cake was tasty too.
Once upon a time the pressed sandwiches were actually pressed, now they're thrown in an oven like Subways. Bring back pressed sandwiches. That's the way to eat a Cuban.
So when i was a little boy, my mother and i would walk from Columbus and Armenia to Ybor HCC for her classes. It was a long walk with little reward for a kid who's toys were mostly in his head, and who's daycare routine was sitting in the back of a college classroom feeling small. But stopping by La Segunda Bakery at the end of the day made it worth it every time. I would always get the rainbow cookies and maybe a slice of tiramisu if we had the extra change. The cookies had always been soft inside with a smooth ganache and sweet sticky filling that i honestly didn't know what it was, but trusted completely. The tiramisu was to die for. But as things tend to go, i fell out of step with visits and the bakery faded into memory. Now some time ago i had been wandering an old path through Ybor when i happened upon it again! To my surprise, it was still standing, and much smaller inside than i had remembered. New faces greeted me in aprons and hats - some my age and younger. They were friendly and welcoming, and seemed happy to hear my story about coming back all these years. They boxed up my old flames and a few new treats i was recommended. Feeling adventurous and happy, i took my parcels and went home. Determined not to snack on the bike ride back, i was pleased to share my goodies with my best friend. But unfortunately, i cant say the cakes and cookies delivered. At first i chalked it up to the usual disappointment common of people who traffic in nostalgia; the tiramisu i remember as being so soft and death-worthy was now crumbly in places as soggy in others - like it was at least a day old and had gone through thawing. And the rainbow cookies i so loved had the sort of uniformity and tastelessness that comes from either stale or pre-packaged goods (Cakebites *tm* is the brand they most remind me of) and i couldn't really muscle through one, much less the four i had gotten. The coconut turnover was stiff at the edges and soggy in the center, flaking less like puff pastry and more like dandruff as you bit down. The cupcake i had gotten for my best friend had absorbed the taste of the cardboard box, and the impeccable frosting which had initially caught my eye proved to be hard and waxy. All in all, it was disheartening to be served stale food, and to have the growing suspicion that items were not being properly circulated. I'm sure that when the pastries are fresh, they are a wonder to behold, but I won't be chancing it anytime soon. Your staff is lovely, and your variety is impressive, and the hot coffee I had seemed fresh and satisfying! But ultimately, as a bakery, the visit was unsatisfying.
My first visit to La Segunda Bakery. Have been wanting genuine Cuban bread, not supermarket immitation Cuban bread. Small store but the smells of fresh bread& sugary treats was incredible. Customers were served quickly, friendly staff. Some grab& go offerings because there is no seating here. That's ok because I was alone in my kitchen with some soft butter and a 3 foot crunchy loaf of bread. Also bought cinnamon twists& rolls. Can't wait to return
Never miss a chance when I'm in town. EVERYTHING IS GOOD. The sandwiches are so good and my favorite cinnamon rolls.
This place is awesome. As a fellow baker I'm pretty critical of other bakeries, but this place is on point. First off they make it easy to get in and out. By that I mean you can call or go online and order and your stuff will be bagged up ready to grab when you walk in. Next is the staff. Super fast, and super friendly. Finally the food. OMG this stuff is so good. From turnovers to flips and pastries galore, varied cakes, some of the softest bolilo I have ever encountered, Cuban sandwiches and the aroma of all these things that literally made me want to cry it smelled so good. There isn't seating here so you have to grab and go but do just that. Just go.
Best guava and cheese pastries in town!!!
The customer service is off and on some days. It can get really busy so the staff may seem to be over worked and a little stressed. They might mix up your order but, they're very apologetic and do what they can to fix the problem. The service takes long on busy days but the wait is well worth it. The food is great!!! Make sure you take a number as soon as you walk in or customers could skip you in line. It can get really crowded and they can't keep up with you arrived in order.
On days that aren't so busy you're in and out pretty quick. The staff is very polite and welcoming. They seem to remember their regular customers but, don't expect to get any special service.
As soon as you walk in, you want one of everything. It all looks delicious, and it is! Fabulous service from Jasmine. I can’t wait to go back again.
I LOVE THUS PLACE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALWAYS A1, EVERYONE THERE IS SO POLITE, AND THE FOOD IS AWESOME
I was born and reared in Tampa, and find myself wondering why I never experienced La Segunda Bakery until now. I know it's safe to say Cuban sandwiches were invented in Ybor City in the cigar rolling hay day, and probably a safe bet to say La Segunda was the inventor, this place has been here a very long time. Everything is amazing here, try a Cuban and a deviled crab you won't be disappointed, everyone else is just a cheap knock off. They have amazing pastries and deserts as well. LOVE IT!
The BEST Italian rainbow cakes. The BEST upside down pineapple cake, and the BEST bon bon! The process is very overwhelming if it's your first time, but they are super friendly and helpful. They do not get aggravated if you have trouble deciding which delicious treats to try. (Trust me, there's so much to choose from)
OMG. I've lived in Tampa for 45 years. How did I not know about this place? Probably because it is next to nothing but what a fabulous bakery. I went to pick up some cookies for a friend. The place was packed with customers and i thought I would have a point wait. Nope... super efficient staff. The cookies were ultra yummy. I heard a second location in South Tampa is in the works.
AMAZING!! If you are in the area for lunch or have a sweet tooth this is a MUST GO. We got desserts to go and they were fantastic. I had a hard time deciding what to get because everything looked delicious. I was also excited when I opened my cookie bag and found an extra cookie because one had broke in half and they threw it in there. I would give this place 10 stars if I could.
The Cuban was little dry but everything was ok
Amazing historic bakery with sandwiches and coffee and a huge array of desserts and pastries.
What really makes it is the bread. They have just an amazing recipe. Get the Cuban. You won't regret it.
Desserts n Pastries are great. Prefer over Alessy's. New counter staff needs customer service training (pleasant, welcoming demeanor w/a smile goes a long way). ... When a Retailer makes me feel unwelcome or as if they're doing me a favor by taking my order, I'll just stop patronizing the establishment. A pretty face doesn't make up for rudeness.
I can honestly say, La Segunda Central Bakery, is the Very Best Bakery I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. I was born and raised in Tampa so so I'm one of the fortunate ones to have tasted many delicious pastries and their Cuban Bread was a weekend must!! Cafe con leche and Cuban Bread and butter. The best breakfast in the world. Their Cuban Sandwich is the best in the USA! Their pastries and all the treats are the freshest and best I've EVER had. I live in Tennessee now and must say I miss Segunda Central Bakery as I miss family.
Great authentic Cuban pastries and coffee. They also have a wide variety of sandwiches.I will visit each time I come back. The coffee will knock your socks off
This is one of the best bakery's I've ever been to. The Cuban sandwich was 100% the right choice the people were friendly and made great suggestions. They have everything you could ever want
This bakery have the best pastries and sandwiches in Tampa. Also, the staff is friendly-great customer service!
Nice bakery with an assortment of different countries represented in their pastries. Small place, but it's usually the small ones that make the best tasting food! Careful on weekends as it can get busy
Great bakery with so many great pastry
I want to live and work here. Honestly. I've never had better food or service in my life. Everyone was super happy and upbeat and friendly, we had the most incredible sandwich, their selection of baked goods and sandwiches is huge and the prices are beyond reasonable. I'm sorry it took us so long to find this place.
Note: parking is a little weird but worth it.
This is a slice of just here in Ybor that you must check out if you’re in the area. Terrific bakery, sandwiches and don’t get me started on their mojo chicken Caesar Salad!! Everything they turn out is delicious though, you cannot go wrong. Do yourself a favor and go here right now. Before you go, check their hours though. 😉 …
Great bakery, fresh Cuban bread and delicious bakery items, like flan and pecan pie bar, plus assorted cookies and pastries. They also have fresh made deli sandwiches. Take a number, the line moves quick. Love this Tampa bakery, been around since 1919 (or around then). Eat sweets!
Great snack of all kinds love the Guava pastries. The chocolate cake is great but the best thing is the Cuban bread, epically in the morning. They also make great sandwiches. Listen this is the best bakery around Tampa and they treat you like family.
First time visit and really liked it. The Cuban bread is authentic and delicious. Been around for 100 years. Nuff said?
Long wait in line so call in your order ahead of time. Great food!
Delicious breakfast sandwich and everything else looks delicious in the store
The best place for an authentic Cuban sandwich. The baked goods are great for a snack while you wait for you food. The pineapple upside down cake wasn't too big and the Cuban alone is worth the trip.
There's a reason this place has been around for over 100 years. As soon as you walk in your senses will be delighted with the smell of goodness. I've only been once but I can assure you I will be going back regularly because of how amazing everything is.
La Segunda is hands down the most awesome bakery in Tampa! Their muffaletta sandwich is the best I've had outside of New Orleans, and all their pastries are amazing. We make an effort to come here whenever we're in the area!
When I was younger my dad would always pick up Cuban bread from here for family dinners. I tried their Cuban sandwich for the first time today. Delicious! Definitely worth it and would recommend
Best cuban bread! I had a breakfast sandwich, bacon egg and cheese with butter on cuban bread and every bite was amazing. I'm giving it 4 stars because I wish they had a little seating area even if it was outside.
I work overnight in Ybor and always smell this bakery on my way home. My grandfather always gets bread from here for all our family get togethers. Last Saturday I finally decided to swing by and check it out. Wow was I pleased. Its much more than just a bakery. Everything tasted amazing. I've built this place up pretty high over the years and set myself for a let down but this place didn't disappoint.
Best cuban bread in town. Been visiting the place for more than 40 years
Great bakery but if are immunocompromised, You really don't want to go near there as it was packed and no masks anywhere to be found
I have been coming to LaSegunda for years. We now travel across the state for our visits there. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in our last visit. I could tell instantly that there was a difference in the bread. After checking the ingredients, I found that you are now using palm oil instead of lard. I understand that it is probably more expensive to use the lard, but I would gladly pay more to have the original recipe ingredients. I hope you will consider changing back.
Great guava turnover! The filing tasted fresh and not too goopy/starchy. Guava and cheese was good too, just adds cream cheese. Medianoche is bomb, and love the cubano bread (get a Baby Cubano roll for $0.45 if you're curious about it, but can't eat a whole sandwich). Cafe con leche is good but not super special. The queue system is a bit weird and there's a lot of waiting.
GREAT FOOD AND DRINK! The Guava Turnover and Cafe Conleche were amazing!
Really great Cuban sandwiches. We also grabbed an Apricot Bearclaw that never made it home. We ate the whole thing before we knew it.
