You go in for one thing and leave with many...usually desserts. And everything tastes amazing. Can't say enough good things about it. I try not to visit too often for my waistlines sake. Although the hardworking owner needs one less expresso and a little more TLC, he doesn't seem to ask his employees to do anything he doesn't do himself, which he usually does double speed in every location in the shop. We all see your hard work and taste it too. It will always be delicious.

The hand carved Cuban sandwich is the best Cuban I have ever had. The traditional is very good as well but the hand carved one is next level. We also got several dessert items all of which were fantastic. They get pretty busy so be prepared to wait but it is worth it.

Alessia has been a favorite local bakery of our's for nearly a decade. The other day I ordered my husband's birthday cake and I had the opportunity to work with Chrissy. When I went to pick up the cake on Friday, Chrissy was an absolute delight. She has been there for over thirty years and her customer service is out of this world. :) This Hummingbird cake was so delicious! Thank you Alessi for a great experience!

First time here we came for their 110 birthday celebration and bakery specials. We had Cuban sandwiches, brownies, macaroons and eclairs. All the food was delicious especially with their ice coffee and fresh squeezed lemonade.

Our lunch and treats were amazing. We especially enjoyed the Hand Carved Cuban. The King Club is unhinge your jaw HUGE you could share with a friend or two. Our favorite bakery treat was the Creme Brulee Bread Pudding. We tried the Scachatta it wasn't our thing It reminded me of spaghetti sauce on a breadstick maybe it's better reheated. I'd love to give them five stars but two issues needed addressing first the soda machine was on the fritz - with the drain backed up and it was pouring uncarbonated straight syrup yet instead of marking it out of order they still sold me a drink cup. Second the bathrooms were gross, out of tp, and the ladies room has a giant crack in the door that made my group very uncomfortable.

Our wedding cake turned out perfect!! We had a tasting and all of the flavors were great. We ended up choosing an almond cake with raspberry filling and it was wonderful! And the design of the cake turned out exactly as we requested

I recently hosted my wedding weekend in Tampa and hired Alessi as our cake vendor for our rehearsal dinner and breakfast/lunch vendor for day-of wedding. I HIGHLY recommend having Alessi Bakery as your vendor for your special day. Everything was on time, accurate, and delicious! The staff is the absolute BEST at their job! I only have amazing things to say about my wedding weekend with exceeded expectations!

The hand carved cuban (pressed) is the way to go. I would ask for more pickles next time, their pickles are good but don't really "show up" in the sandwich and would have taken it over the top.

Picked up the BEST Tiramisu cake on the planet for a co-worker. The whole office asked "where did you get this?!" Alessi earned 10 new fans after ONE bite! There are usually 5 cars before 8AM so get there early! Fantastic Cuban coffee and all types of Latin postres, dessert, available. Don't miss out on a West Tampa staple!

Alessi Bakery is all around fantastic! They were on top of everything and always communicated with us and were very helpful from start to finish. We wound up with a 3 tier lemon cake with a raspberry preserve filling and a buttercream frosting. Our guests raved about our cake! It truly was the best we’ve ever had - and we’re incredibly picky when it comes to food, especially dessert. It was a part of our special day we’ll always remember and we can’t wait to go back for our anniversary to order a small version of it!

Alessi is Tampa’s gem when it comes to flawless bakeries and incredible pastry and cakes! Most of all though beyond the crème brûlée bread pudding which is out of this world, the bakery and special orders are run by the most fabulous lady whose name is Lauren. She has gone above and beyond to make sure my daughter’s bday cakes are behind special every year. I typically get the decor pieces ready and Lauren makes the most yummy cakes ever and then helps me put the pre ordered decor on but as you can see in the photo, she makes things look way extra special. We just love her and her flawless work and won’t go anywhere else! Thank you for your kindness, service and for sharing your incredible talent Lauren!

We have lived in Tampa for our whole lives and know that Alessi's is a Tampa landmark. However, today it was stamped in gold as Jasmine worked through a difficult order with us. She listened, provided options, and led an effort to get us a perfect last minute cake for a new born girls baby shower. She went above and beyond and pinked out the cake for us. Again, she communicated through the whole service and the prices were very fair for the high quality cake provided. Thank you Jasmine!! You solidified Alessi's in our hearts as the top notch establishment they are known for. Cheers!

I always like to go into Alessi to get some cupcakes and cakes. I also did a cake pop order in the past. But last week i put in an order for a edible image and smash and let me tell you how the way these cakes came out exceeded my expectations. The decorator did a great job the cakes were beautiful! I thought i was going to get two simple cakes but they were sooooo beautiful with great details. And they also tasted sooo good! Everyone had a slice even people who dont eat cake had to try from all the good things they heard. Thank you so so much for these wonderful cakes.

I love this Tampa staple. Get the hand carved Cuban it’s the BEST! They also have amazing stuffed potatoes, deviled crab, and Sicilian pizzas. The bakery has so many options sometimes we will come here just for dessert, they have all the traditional homemade favorites.

I moved to Tampa about 11 months ago and finally paid a visit to try the scachatta - Alessi's Bakery was the #1 place recommended. First let me say that I am not a fan of cold pizza, but . . . OMG Alessi's scachatta is so good and addictive. I bought the snack pack and was done with 75% of it before I got home - less than 7 miles away. The customer service was also quick and friendly! I'll definitely be back! Forgot to add that the creme brulee bread pudding was also delish!

Jason is an absolute doll !!! I come in and he has the biggest smile, helped me get cookies and such together for my bf bday. He's so professional and nice punctual I swear every establishment should have a Jason, or 10!! This is my go to bakery, the tiramisu cannolis strawberry cheesecake cupcakes all is so delicious at this fantastic Bakery!! it is a true gem and it's actually very affordable, as opposed to some of the bakeries in South Tampa where you're spending $60 just trying to get five cookies!! And if you're into coffee definitely stop by and have Jason make you up a fresh cup of Cafe Con leche! I promise it will not disappoint!! 💚♾️😍

1st time in. I was crazy excited, this place reminded me of a place back in Pennsylvania. We ended up buying $50 worth of pastries . I would like to note that the lady that waited on me was crazy patient. The strawberry cake was outstanding, the cream horns and turn overs were really good. The cinnamon rolls and pineapple upside down muffins not so much., very dry/stale tasting, but I want to speak on the hot food side. In addition to the pastries we spent $48 on sandwiches. I will never spend money on that part again, if I ever come back. I explained to the nice gentleman that took our order that I have never been here before. Those two rude ladies. I asked for fries when I ordered my sandwich, Also requested lettuce tomato and onion on my Cuban and it was put on the hamburger. When I asked about the fries with my Italian sand. She said you were supposed to ask for fries when you order. I said I did. And in return, she turns to the other lady and says what is she talking about. The other lady responds I don’t know so they walk away. Really? I just spent $100 in y’all business. Did she think I was just trying to get free fries or something? If tge gentleman didn’t hear me then charge me and make them, such disregard will have me spend my money somewhere else. Just a bit of advice; your business either prospers or go down the tubes depending upon whom you have as a spokesperson for your business. Whether it’s a rude cashier or cook. Or a nice, inviting person at your counter. First impressions are important. This is a really nice place, but sad to say I don’t think I’ll be back.

I was trying to find a bakery up to the challenge of recreating a cake from a video game (ffxiv) for my daughters birthday and Allesi Bakery DELIVERED. Just look at the similarity!! We were all blown away and the prices were absolutely reasonable. I will definitely be returning the next time we need a cake!

Had a sweet tooth so stopped in. Picked up a 5 inch key lime pie.The pie was presented beautifully. The key lime filling was pretty dense and sweet. I honestly didn't taste much lime. The pie crust was very good. I think the outer part was meringue. It was dense and good. Overall it was a good pie.

This was my very 1st visit to this establishment and I was extremely pleased. Jasmine answered my call before I arrived and was so extremely helpful and pleasant which made me even more excited to actually come to this establishment. You pull up in the front of the building and you are immediately greeted with the sweet smell of sugar. It may not be the best looking place on the outside to look at but once you step inside you go into a wonderful and colorful world of sweet treats and various foods. The whole staff was very kind and friendly and they have well earned my business. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of going to this place please take the time to go as it is worth it.

Cake was amazing. I went to Publix and they gave me every excuse in the world as to why they couldn't promise me a cake that looked exactly as i described. Alessi's came through big time. They simply said yes, we can do that, the decorator even said i will make it look even better. And oh boy did she! Just look at the pictures, incredible cake with great details without it being over the top or too busy. Publix is a joke, so spend the extra small amount of money and go to Alessi's , they will give you what you ask for, very good work! GREAT JOB!!! 10/10!!!!

This is a childhood bakery that love to come to a least once a week. Now living in Texas, I really miss this place but on my last visit, I can really see they need some more improvements. Service: All employees were very nice and greeted me as I came into the door. They provided me with great smiles and willing answer any questions I might have had. With the minor rush, they were able to get through the rush actual quickly. Food: The food is the one thing that will bring you in every time. With my current visit, I had Cuban sandwich and devil crab. They both were delicious and while waiting, I was able sample some of their great pastries. This is one thing that I never forget as a child that always brought me back. They had some of your old favorites and some new selections as well. Overall: The only reason I am giving them 3 stars because the overall improvements of the store. This bakery has been around for years and I feel they have not taken the pride in remolding the store and providing needed improvements with keeping the tradition of the store. I’ve noticed they remodel since being a child, but I know this store (company) could do better. I will continue to enjoy their food and being part of Tampa’s great tradition, but I hope changes will be made soon.

My husband and I loved our wedding cake from Alessi! We had a relatively intricate map design in gold and it turned out exactly as we pictured it. I got in touch a few weeks prior to change the large flower on the side to one that would match my bouquet and they were very accommodating. In addition to being beautiful it tasted fantastic! Two layers - vanilla/chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling for my husband and spice cake with cream cheese filling for me. We didn't want to waste anything so we ate leftovers at the airport on the way to our honeymoon! Would definitely recommend to any bride!

This is a family staple, a weekly Alessi run for our favorite treats! Everything is fresh and incredibly delicious. The only gripes I have are the parking (it can get rough during the holidays), the staff that does the burgers/sandwiches seem to get annoyed when making things, and the stock. If you don’t get there early you might miss your favorite treats. We love Alessi regardless of the gripes! A must see in Tampa!

Excellent family bakery with a HUGE selection of desserts as well as a modest selection of sandwiches (I've only ever had the Cuban, which is delicious). I live over an hour away, but this is one of the handful of restaurants on my go-to list when I'm in the Tampa Bay area, especially because it's so convenient to access off I-275 when heading home (Polk Co. via I-4) and also easy to reach (and worth the drive) from downtown Tampa. The two pics are less than half of what is on display in the bakery section!

Alessi's made my dad's 75th birthday one to remember! I moved to the UK from Tampa in 2018, so can't be there in person to celebrate. Alessi's online ordering was a perfect solution, and everything I ordered arrived at its destination right on time (9am sharp!) and looking absolutely sensational. My parents were raving about the cafe con leche (still hot!) and how fresh the danishes and pastries were — and my parents aren't prone to raving about anything at all. Ever. I even messed up part of my order and had to reach out to their team directly. Melissa was a saint and helped me quickly and efficiently. I think she even heard it was my dad's birthday and included an extra little treat for him. Truly excellent service and people who care about others and going the extra mile. I should also mention that I've been to Alessi's thousands of times myself when I lived in Tampa and of course it is delicious every time. But this experience really made my dad's day and mine as well, so I knew it was time to leave them a glowing review. Can't recommend them enough! 11/10 on everything

I've been going here for decades. I love their cakes, breads, and cannolli, and always have to pick up a Cuban sandwich while I'm there. My favorites: Creme Brulee Bread Pudding, Italian Rainbow Cookies (my absolute favorites!), Cannolli (the shells stay crunchy and don't get soggy from the filling), and the Cuban, of course. They have many ready-made cakes and treats available in the cases, and take specialty orders as well. If you want savory to go with your sweets, check out the sandwich counter for breakfast and lunch options made fresh for you. Absolutely worth the visit. Enjoy!

Lauren did an awesome job and took pride in her job as she spoke with me on the phone about how she could decorate the cookies, right up to when she came out and personally delivered them to me when I came to pick them up. Although I live in North Carolina, I have been to Alessi Bakery many times over now. Having grown up with family in the Tampa Bay area, we visited them numerous times throughout the years. I was visiting from Texas and had lived there many years ago and returned because of the memories and my Italian heritage. An employee who helped me has worked there about 18 years I think and I forgot her name. She was polite and the guy working with her. Were so helpful. I asked about cannolis with ricotta cheese and another pastry you were out of. She went out of her way on both. You have an angel working there. My order was ready the next morning and I had to hug her. Thank you for the memories they were my mother’s favorite and for years I bought them there and took them to her in Georgia when she was alive. A great place great service. Great everything. I absolutely LOVE Alessi's! They make the BEST tiramisu, but all of their desserts are amazing. The staff is always friendly too. They made our wedding cake and desserts a couple years ago. I absolutely recommend them for any catering. They rock!

We ordered Cuban sandwiches, bought home pineapple upside down cake, some of the cookies, and their signature pizza. All of them were fantastic. The Cuban sandwich can be hot pressed and can come with freshly carved ham and hot or cold. There are so many options to try. The store was busy, yet we were served promptly. It took just under 10 minutes to receive our sandwich once ordered. At the store, you get a receipt with everything you order and then pay when you leave.

I absolutely LOVE this place. They have some of the best pastries and desserts I've ever had. I have tried all of their mini cannolis at least once and I haven't had one I didn't like yet. Also the Black and White Cookies are amazing!! I recently tried one of their Hand Carved Cubes I think that's what they called them, it was a bit pricey for a Cuban sandwich however it was definitely well worth it. This place is an absolute must visit at least once, but I believe if you try it once you will definitely try it again. 😋😋😋 Yummy!!

I've been going to Alessi bakery since I was a small child. Everything is so delicious and the pizza and meat pies I could eat everyday and never grow tired of them. Brownies gingerbread men and women zucchini bread Cookies. You can't go wrong here at this bakery. Friendly people who have been there for years are always quick to give you the fastest best service anywhere else I've ever been. I moved from Tampa about 15:years ago and live in Pasco county now but we all load up at least once a month to go stock up on all our favorites. It's so hard to choose between their giant cuban sandwich loaded with meat or pizza a dinner or meat pies. So I suggest get some of it. You haven't lived until you eat at Alessi bakery. Thank you whoever is in charge now. Im not sure if Phil Alessi is still with us but whoever it is. You have a loyal customer actually my whole family and friends. I'll see you soon and I'll be stocking up on all our favorites. Halloween isn't Halloween without trays of your pizza for our Halloween party. Love you all and best wishes always.

The Cuban sandwich here is absolutely amazing! Having spent much time in South Florida, I know what a Cuban sandwich should taste like. The sandwich here is not pretentious or overboard -- it is exactly what it should be. No designer meats, etc. Just a good sandwich. The bakery itself is also really great. We were in town visiting family. We love to go to Alessi when we visit. Always good memories. Our abuelo work for Alessei in the1950's (different location). Great service, however the devil crabs, while full of crab meat, were over fried and the inside mix was bitter. Not sure what they mixed the crab with, but we had to throw them out. I have been eating devil crabs since they use sell them on the streets of Ybor and was so disappointed this time in Alessi's devil crabs. As a Tampian, I always brag about Tampa's devil crabs and cuban sandwhiches, but can't brag about these. The cookies, desserts and coffee were excellent as always.

I have been to this bakery a number of times for pastries when I visit Tampa and for that reason alone, Alessi's is worth the trip. However, yesterday I had arguably one of the best Cuban sandwiches I have ever had here. No cold cuts--the sandwich had actual slices of delicious, hot roasted meat. The accompanying fries were perfect. I took home some Cuban bread and it was fantastic and even featured the traditional palm frond down the middle. A must-visit in Tampa.

Alessi is a Tampa staple serving traditional Cuban food in the store and catering, and their bakery also offers Cuban influenced items along with some traditional baked goods. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Some of the food is good, but overpriced. They continue to bank on the idea that they have been around for a long time, and it seems to work for them. But, dozens of places serve better food and have more to offer. If they would modernize the menu some, keeping the traditional items, they'd get more business. I had the breakfast sandwich, with Cuban bread, scrambled eggs, bacon and swiss cheese. It wasn't very good. They should at least offer to press it because the bread is flavorless. The bacon, chopped into pieces is way undercooked, and the cheese is hardly noticeable. Their much touted Cuban sandwich is good, but there are far better in Tampa. If you go, go for the cultural experience, not a culinary one.

Our fantasy football league decided to get creative with a custom cake for the champion, especially considering Super Bowl weekend was his birthday and we always present the trophy at halftime of our Super Bowl party. Melissa is the Head Cake Designer for Alessi Bakeries and she enthusiastically embraced our idea. She asked plenty of questions, then ran a few by me, confirmed additional details via email and the result was phenomenal. It was ready exactly when promised and every customer in the store wanted to check it out. She made this cake off a five-minute conversation with me and it was beyond any of our expectations. The cost was only $35 and we all agreed it was worth much more than that.

I have been going to bakery for over 20 yrs. Never thought I would pay 10 bucks for a Cuban sandwich. No problem if it was worth it. Yet it's not. I give 3 stars because I know this was a great place at one time. The past two experiences where ruff. Seems like each time I go there it's a new associate. This could be the reason for the consistency. If you are in the area I would suggest other sandwich locations my rating is not on the bakery. There are to many restaurants in 4 block radius to be taken advantage of by this one. Sorry Alessi but this was the last time. Please take pride in what you do and hire associate's that do the same. I would have taken a picture of my sandwich but no reason for the embarrassment. I hope you fix it soon and recover from this. I ultimately hope the best.

Arranged a surprise delivery in advance and the cookies and pastries were delivered on time (to the second!!). Unbeknownst to me, the recipient's birthday was the very next day so the timing couldn't have been better! I can't comment on whether the birthday girl and her friends liked the treats........their mouthes were always full so they couldn't speak!!! My only regret is not buying some treats for my own personal taste test. I will return to remedy that! Great job!

This place is a hidden gem. Alessio Bakery has apparently been around for 96 years according to the article posted by the door celebrating 55 yrs in 1978. Alessi reminds us a bit of Wright's deli, also in Tampa. About the size of Wright's before Wright's remodeled. We purchased a princess cake to celebrate a friends birthday. They have beautiful offerings, sandwiches, salads, cookies, about everything a great deli/bakery would prepare. Great service.

Amazing Cassata Cake!!! I called Thursday morning around 9-930am and spoke to a lovely woman named Kathy. I was looking for a cannoli pie for my sister but Kathy said they make a Cassata cake and although she wasn’t sure they had any made, she said she’d check and call me back in 15-30 minutes. I was happy that she called me back letting me know they would have one ready for me in the afternoon by 2pm. When I walked into the bakery, I was greeted by a staff member and while waiting for my cake to get a happy birthday ribbon, a few staff members asked if I needed any help (I was roaming around the bakery looking at all the delicious looking pastries!). The staff was very friendly and I have no complaints! Reading some of these other reviews made me sad that people are so judgmental. It’s very obvious to this Italian that the Alessi family takes great pride in their business. Thank you for the yummy cake!! We will be back!

COVID 19 RESPONSE - I was so pleased with the experience here. I ordered a cake online a week before I came to pick it up. I've had food from here a few times. Generally it's okay. Portions are large and the quantity to dollar ratio is more than fair. The quality of the sandwich is just okay. Nothing spectacular, but it doesn't meet up with the quality of other restaurants as well. Odd gripe: the entire time eating there, there's an audio clip that is played over the whole building speakers thanking you for visiting the restaurant. Every time we'd be in the middle of a conversation, we'd have to stop talking until the droning audio clip would finish. This occurred seemingly every 10-15 minutes. Edit since i cannot reply: Sorry for the loss, however every 10 minutes is a bit much, and the volume is way high. I get that you want to thank your customers for visiting your shop, but it's the kind of thing that makes me not want to spend time there or money. Quickly went from "hey this is great, it's close to the office and I should visit more often" to "yeah nevermind, I can't even enjoy being here, we'll go somewhere else."

On numerous occasions, well more then I can count Benny has showed love countless times to less fortunate families around Hillsborough country by donating food.. I have been going to Alessi’s bakery since I moved to Tampa. It’s definitely a gem! I always get the cannolis because, why not?! Great bakery and also the assistant general manager Benny Fernandez hooks me up with the best breakfast sandwiches which come on huge hoagie rolls just like we do it up in the north east. Ask for it pressed too. Highly recommend!

I wasn't able to just purchase a simple slice of cake because there was none that wasn't cake but cheese cake slice cake. I'm lactose in tolerance. I can't eat cheese/cake? Where's just good old fashioned slices of plain icing on cake & not pound cake.

It's Christmas Party Time, we always order their sheet Pizza and Bruchetta. They have a great assortment of pastries, bread, cakes, and deli items. They have been our go to place of all occasions. Staff is very friendly and helpful. If your not sure what to get, just ask them what you want to have it for. They can cover every occasion fro office parties, to weddings to dessert for tonight's dinner. Great Bakery!

Not much bad to say about this place. Their customer service is on point and they are happy to help you place an order or designed a cake. If I had one wish it would be that the sciaciatta and some other freshly baked pastries weren't so expensive for it limits the amount and quantities that I can purchase. That aside I am still a loyal patron to this place.

Their polish meats are very good. I like Quaker Creek in Pine Island but they only have one kind of kielbasa, this place has 4 or 5, I recommend the double smoked. They have donuts on Fridays I think, the big ones with raspberry and plum fillings. They also sell salads and pirogi. The egg and vegetable salad is very good, the beet salad is pretty good too. The deserts look very good, but polish desserts tend to be dry. You are supposed to have tea or coffee with them, so keep that in mind. p.s. They sell smoked fish now. I had the mackerel which was good, but the golden trout...amazing!

Alessi's has been in business 106 years and it'll be 107 this September. Ive only been lucky enough to come here for the past 20 odd years but they never fail to impress me. Breakfast sandwiches are delicious and huge and leave you feeling fuller than you could have thought. Paired with a cafe con leche and a few pastries to go and this breakfast is all you need to get your day going. Great spot!

I really like this place. I like the chocolate croissant in particular. It has a big show room area with he pastries and lunch items market style and to the left is a smaller quiet dining area where you can ear your goodies. All counter service however. Definitely a step up from Panera but not quite Whole Foods. But super convenient and very friendly staff make this a favorite.

Lauren helped my husband with our anniversary cake and seemed very impatient throughout the process. At first on the phone he thought she might be having a bad day but then she told him he had to come in on the fourth of july to explain a basic cake proposal. He came in on the holiday and she again seemed rude and overworked. The coconut cake was great, but we will likely not go back because my husband is the least likely man on earth to have a bad attitude or complain. We haven't argued in years , so this is an honest review of A GOOD LOOKING AND TASTING cake but bad customer service.

The guy who made our food came all the way around to tell us to pick up our food at the counter which was silly he could have just brought it to us but anyway he came back very rude and loud sayInto that he couldn’t have my husband charging his phone next to our table that we would have to move The table I understand rules are rules but he could have been polite about it . I was with friends from work. I wanted them to taste a good pressed Cuban sandwich and decide if this was better than Simply Delicious in St. Petersburg. Only one of them was disappointed in his choice of a fresh burger as it wasn't what he was accustomed to getting. So 4 out of five agreed with me as to the quality and seasoning for their lunch meal. I have grown up with the taste of Alessi's baked goods and lunch meals. As for the one thaet was disappointed I will take him back there and have him try a Philly cheese steak for a better result.

I'm saddened to write this review of my favorite bakery which stood for quality and fine bakery products since I was a child and they were at their original location on Howard Ave in West Tampa. The bakery has gone through rough times. It is not even a mere shadow of what it was. I have not been there since December of 2015. I went there today not knowing they were having a sale or that they were celebrating their 105th anniversary. The sales staff need to take a course oh how to deal with the public. I asked the salesperson for two guava turnover rings which include 4 turnovers per ring. The salesperson told me they were on sale but he could only sell me 4 at the sale price and one at regular price. I thought the person was talking about rings since I was talking about rings. That was a mistake. I felt belittled in front of all the customers that were present including my out of town friends. The rudeness was a bit on the sarcastic side and my friends wanted to leave and go someplace else. The guava pastries were great as usual. The Scachatta which I mind you was the best in town was tasteless. The dough was an anemic yellow and it was fresh but lacks the sweetness, and sauce it always had. There was hardly any sauce and no cheese sprinkled on top. It was bland and lacking sauce. It was dry. I bought gingerbread men for the kids and they lacked ginger. Needless to say, they ate the sugar but left the bread if you can call it that. The coconut macaroons were excellent. The eclairs were "okay" not as good as they've always been. If the owner or upper management read this please turn your company around. I would hate to see an excellent bakery close due to lack of patrons. Train your staff to be more courteous to your patrons. Yes I understand it was busy, but we must adhere to "Quality Rules" it has been the motto since it's inception. What would old great grandma Alessi say? The twin sister that worked there with Angie. They would be turning in their graves. Those were the days in which product quality, hospitality, and customer service ruled.Hopefully, it will be much better for the holiday season. I'm counting on that.

I did a little Tampa staycation this week with some friends from out of town. We were staying in a hotel down the street from Alessi and I took them here for breakfast the first morning. They insisted we go back every day after. It made me realise how lucky we are to have this place and the other Latin bakeries in town. Alessi has a host of great employees, particularly over in the hot food area. The gentleman with the moustache will go above and beyond to make you what you're looking for, even if it's not exactly on the menu. They get a little backed up sometimes but be patient. Over in the sweets, the girls are pleasant as can be, and the goodies are amazing. I recommend the creme brulee bread pudding, the apple cake, and the cream horns. Follow them on FB for their weekly BOGO specials, and go get your fat on!

WOW , i have no idea what the most expensive gem in the world is , but when it comes to bakeries , Alessi is definitely it . They have the real Cuban bread , the one with the palm leaf on top . That's not all i like , i love their flan , too . When they make their rum cake , oh my GOD , it's the best . What is there today this morning to pick up some stuff that we needed everything was good except for the two big cupcakes that had smaller cupcakes on top of them they tasted like they had been in the refrigerator for at least a couple of weeks and I refuse to eat them like that when they taste like a refrigerator I had also gotten some gingerbread cookies those were good sugar cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies those were all so good also got some blueberry muffins those also we're good at the only issue and why I put a three-star review is because of the cupcakes I don't know why it tasted like the refrigerator and they just did not taste good at all

Alessi Bakery has been a Tampa icon for generations their new creme brulee bread pudding will satisfy any sweet tooth, personal favorite Neopolon's are absolutely heavenly. The croquet's are the perfect little lunch as are the meat pies. Alessi Bakery is and has been a part of Tampa history doe 100 years if you stop in try the pizza flat bread, its not the official name for it, but what ever you call it , one word says it all Delicious. Food is generally good, both bakery and food items. Today however, I stopped in to get a few bakery items around 330. Late to get service, customers standing around had no concept of personal space, as well as a worker (long pony tail who announced she was going to the bathroom). She was putting items on the counter right in front of me and didn't have any concept of personal space either. Also the floor was sticky. Annoying visit.

The Mojo Roast Pork Sandwich here is absolutely one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! It is not your traditional Cuban sandwich although they make those great too. The Mojo Roast Pork Sandwich is loaded with fresh hot roasted pork, onions from the mojo sauce, swiss cheese and mojo juice on fresh Cuban bread. It does not need any condiments like mayo or mustard. It is perfection on its own and huge. You can get two servings out of it. A must must try!

When I first started planning my wedding the cake was the last thing I cared about. In fact, I didn't even want one! I was contemplating just buying a bunch of brownies but I heard from so many people that "every wedding needs a cake". I begrudgingly went with my mom to several bakeries in town, all of which laughed at my idea of a big brownie for a cake and instead suggested white cake with flowers on it, no thank you! Our final stop of a very long day was at Alessi's to meet with Melissa. I had dug up some pictures of cakes that I liked the look of, modern looking and in my colors, simple, no flowers. My mom told Melissa I wasn't too thrilled about the cake and wanted a brownie and Melissa said "well how about a brownie explosion cake" as if it were the obvious solution, AND IT WAS!! Against all odds, my brownie explosion cake turned out to be one of my favorite things about my wedding. It was delicious, looked exactly like I wanted, and Melissa and her team went out of their way to accommodate my "Ybor Theme" by designing the cake to accommodate my home-made cake "topper", an Ybor lamp post. We plan on returning to Alessi's every year to eat brownie explosion cake on our anniversary and say Thank you to Melissa Alessy's for their hard work and delicisou desserts!

I ordered the buffalo chicken philly and I have one word to describe the experience: 'unremarkable'. The quantity of chicken on my sub was inadequate for even myself, a relatively small-framed man, and I would not value it at $9.25 any day of the week. Underwhelming experience overall.

Came here and absolutely splurged on goodies, all of them amazing. They had bogo on the guava and cheese turnovers, Eclairs, and a few other goodies. When I came the guava and cheese turnovers had just come out fresh and thank goodness for BOGO because I couldn't stop at one. The first bite of that guava and cheese turnover was absolute heaven. Definitely the best thing I bought there. The pastry was light and crunchy, and the guava jam filling was delightfully sweet with the mild cheese flavor to balance it all out. I've had quite a bit of guava and cheese pastries by now and Alessi's is my favorite so far. I also bought 4 of the cookies: a chocolate filled one, apricot jam filled, fig jam filled, and a traditional Italian wedding cookie. Favorite was the fig filled, but the rest of them were by no means bad. I also got a mini eclair, mini cannoli, carrot cake pop, rainbow cookie, and a 9-inch carved Cuban. The Cuban was definitely delicious, not the best, but really good. Carrot cake pop was good, but the chocolate/frosting the cake was dipped in was a bit too thick and sweet for my tastes. The mini eclair and cannoli were both great- but if I came back, I would definitely get the cannoli again. The rainbow cookie was my least favorite from everything I bought, but it was still very tasty and I don't regret giving it a taste. Overall, a great time and would definitely like to come again!

The only thing Alessi's is missing is indoor dining, which is especially needed in the state of Florida. Alessi's compensates for this by serving some of the best foods you will find under 1 roof. Make sure you save plenty of room for some deserts, especially the ginger bread men.
