The minute I walked in I knew it was an awesome place. This place is amazing for people, I’m so happy I went there!! I got a single taco and fries, both of which were really good and filling! I’m definitely excited to try more of them! It’s also really nice because I have inflammatory arthritis so a lot of processed foods are a risk for me to eat because they have animal products, but this place is vegan so I don’t have to worry. I can eat anything and it won’t hurt me! It’s nice to not have to stress about what to eat. The environment and staff are very friendly and inviting, and I can’t wait to go back there! I loved that it was very leftist as well, it’s always a good thing to know you’re in a safe space :)

Visited here because of the show “Fresh fried and crispy.” The restaurant looks very warm and arty with all the quotes and arts besides you. It’s also very cool that it’s all plant based restaurant. We ordered Audre Lorde’s chicken sandwich and Zora Neale’s spicy chicken sandwich with small kale salad. The kale salad was fantastic and the dressing was just amazing. I wanted to order a full salad even though I was full. The spicy chIcken sandwich, you couldn’t really tell it’s a plant based chicken because the sauce compensate for that and it’s delicious. Maybe it’s because of the plant based chicken. The “fried chicken skin” couldn’t really stay with the “meat” for my chicken sandwich. It doesn’t taste as good as the spicy one.

Amazing vegan and vegetarian food! The best I've had! The menu has a great variety and the quality and flavors are outstanding! If you can't do lunch then stop in for a baked good they have the BEST vegan chocolate chip cookies!!!

So glad we found this spot. Good Gluten-free foods are hard to come by but when I say this was the BEST WAFFLE, not just gluten-free, but ANY waffle I have EVER HAD ANYWHERE I mean it! We got there just before the rush and we were happy for that! This place is a treasure, cozy, art work is stunning & food is fantastic!

Black owned restaurant & vegan friendly. I made 2 visits; 1st:(I arrived after 3:30pm & the kitchen was closed) ordered 2 each of raspberry matcha cupcakes🧁🧁, cookies & cream cupcakes🧁🧁, ginger cookies🍪🍪 & 1 hot matcha latte🍵. Cupcakes & cookies are soft. I like the cupcake frosting- it have a light whipped texture (my favorite type😋). I shared the desserts w/ my brother & he enjoyed them also. 2nd: I did mobile order carryout before work for the Tom's throwback cheese burger🍔 meal w/ a side of fries🍟. The meal was delicious & filling! Interior have plenty of inspirational quotes & Cbabi artwork decorating the walls.

I think I just picked poorly. The kale salad was the best part of #9 Maya Angelou. It was surprisingly really delicious. The chkn strips were not bad with the buffalo sauce, but alone were okay. The macaroni however, was no bueno! It had a plastic taste. I wouldn't get that again, but would give them another try for the other options they offer.

Not vegan? Don't worry. This place will fool you ALL DAY with their delicious food. I continue to be delighted with how Reine and crew create fluffy cupcakes and all sorts of breakfast and lunch options with great flavors and textures. Order in advance for special events - their cakes are the best!! So glad to see this spot continuing to thrive in the Shaw neighborhood.

Came here to celebrate my birthday because I had seen the restaurant on a Netflix show. I was very happy with the service and food. The lady at the register was very kind and offered a recommendation to us for what to order. I ordered a Audre Lorde chickn sandwich with a side of fries(it comes with a bag of Goat Chips but I wanted fries). The chickn sandwich was the best vegan chick’n sandwich I’d ever had and the cajun seasoning on the fries was nice. I can’t quite place what the chickn was made out of but I enjoyed it. My nonvegan family came and they enjoyed what they got as well. They ordered a spicy chicken sandwich(Zora Neale Hurston) and Make it Funky burger. I wouldn’t say I’d recommend the Make it Funky to a nonvegan because my mom said she didn’t like the bacon pieces but I think it should be expected that it won’t taste like actual bacon lol. Now to the desserts we ordered, (I forgot to take pictures) we got the fauxstess, strawberry crunch, 2 chocolate peanut butter bars, 2 chocolate chip cookies, and 2 banana pudding cupcakes. My favorite by far was the fauxstess but I also enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie. I don’t love coconut flavored things but I still like the banana pudding cupcake. Everything else was eaten by other people, but the general consensus was that everything was delicious. Will be returning here sometime in the future!

I am not vegan, but I was looking for a local, Vegan restaurant to take out of town guests and chose Sweet Art. We were not disappointed! I had the "chickin" strips with the Kale salad & both were delicious. The strips were so tasty & perfectly seasoned that I could not tell they were Vegan. Others had similar experiences with the strips & burgers. The cupcakes & cinnamon rolls were also very good. The staff is friendly, the place is clean & has a nice vibe. I definitely recommend it!

A leader at the hospital where I'm employed recommended this restaurant to us for lunch. Let me say I'm not vegan, I am in every sense of the statement a meat eater, but this food was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the Tom's Throwback Burger and cauliflower bites with maple-mustard sauce. I will eat here again, to try other menu items. Here's to expanding my taste-buds. Job well done. I wish I would have remembered to take picture before I devoured the food, got it next time.

We heard about this place on Daymon Scott “Daym” Patterson's YouTube channel. We ordered the sweet veggie burger & spicy chicken sandwich. The sweet burger is very flavorable with a light meaty consistency similar to meatloaf. The spicy chicken actually looks like chicken & is very spicy. Enjoyed the experience & will be returning to try their many specialties. There was no inside dining.

I could not believe how incredibly full of flavor the food was. I got the buffalo chick-n sandwich with kale salad… OMG, even their kale salad had the best dressing on it that I’ve ever tasted in my life. Thank goodness, a vegan eatery that makes vegan food full of flavor and NOT bland! (Btw I am not even vegan and was super impressed… I go to vegan places a lot because of my vegan friends).

From the celebration of African american culture shown all throughout every spot you look, to the delious vegan options you have to choose from. It's A 1 for me and the cashier's are amazing as well. Omg!!!!! As a lifelong vegetarian, I have to be honest and say THIS IS THE BEST MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! I had the Zora spicy chikn sandwich. It was juicy, crispy, crunchy, SAUCY and spicy. It was on a homemade bun with lettuce, tomato and homemade vegan ranch. It was simply incredible. The fries, oh man those fries. I don't know what seasoning they had them but they were the best french fries I have ever had. Then we had the most amazing strawberry lemonade cheesecake cupcakes. Everything we had was incredible. Incredible is actually not even a good enough word. Run and get some now you won't regret it!!!!

OKAY NOW! There wasn't a thing I didn't LOVE about this place. Okay maybe one thing, there was a long line to order and hard to find a table. But that just goes to show how amazing this place is! The menu is so creatively designed and the taste of the food aligns with this creativity (I mean to make this entire place vegan..!). I especially love the appreciation of black artists and black culture this place has, from quotes everywhere, to beautiful paintings all over the walls. I wish was in town long enough to eat here every day because everything on the menu looked amazing. I don't remember the exact names of what I ordered but I tried a lentil plate with the love and magic kale salad, both incredible flavors. I also got nachos, as a vegetarian who loves cheese, couldn't even tell they were vegan, so many delicious components to them. I also got the mackin' cheese, my first time trying a vegan one, it was very creamy and had a unique flavor. I would come back to STL just for SweetArt!

Sweet art is AMAZING!!! Their fries are the best and their burgers are great! I have yet to try their sweets because it’s always sold out which is a good thing! One day, I shall have that sweet cinnamon roll. They will bring out your food to you. Just call the number when you arrive. Plenty of street parking. Try them out!

Delicious food. The portion size for my chicken sandwich was HUGE. The kale salad was absolutely scrumptious. I've seen several comments pertaining to wait time . I ordered and it was ready by the time I arrived which was about 15 minutes. Once I arrived I didn't wait any longer that 5 minutes before my food was brought out. Only Con is i wish they had meals or combos, instead of individually priced items .

Wow wow wow. What else can I say!! Everything I tried from SweetArt today was delicious. I tried Octavia Butler's burrito (chili beans, sweet potato, cilantro chutney) with a side kale salad, and an iced matcha maple latte. The burrito was so packed with flavor, and it had a nice kick but wasn't spicy. Good portion size too. Do not sleep on that kale salad - the dressing has a pleasant umami flavor which I wasn't expecting to get from a salad but now I will be ordering this every single time. The matcha latte was lovely too but I was hoping for stronger matcha flavor. I echo everyone's comments about the beautiful art on the walls and great customer service. I will be coming back to try more - but not without my kale salad.

This is one cool place. It offers an amazing vegan menu that everyone will love. I went with a big group of colleagues and none were vegan nor vegetarian except me! Yet everyone loved their lunch! They also have a great selection of homemade baked goods!! The place has a soulful vibe and the service is amazing. Highly recommend! Bring your mom vegan friends too!!

This is literally the holy grail of vegan soul food. Thought the hours are limited and the pickup situation during COVID has to be well thought out in advance I would go through all the trouble in the world cause the food is just delicious. They change their menus daily so go into the website to get the most up to date offerings. I LOVE this place - I am from Kansas City and this is a MUST stop. The funky burger is legit all vegan - service is outstanding. I can’t wait to eat the vegan cinnamon roll to go....😉 WAIT for it....yep the cinnamon roll didn’t make it out of the restaurant - it was crazy AMAZING. Have them heat it up and it just melts. They always make me feel at home and fall me by name when I walk in - thank you for being family. One more call out - you MUST try the cinnamon rolls at least once.

My son and I stopped in here for breakfast while traveling because we heard they had amazing vegan food, and we heard totally correctly. Stop by for the vegan Banh Mi, stay for the incredible cinnamon roll. Everything we got here was fantastic. The server we had was friendly and super helpful. The coffee was hot and delicious. The other breakfasts looked good too, but the vegan breakfasts were to die for. It's rare to find a great place to eat breakfast when you're vegan and this really knocked it out of the park. I'd give it more stars if I could. Don't miss this place if you're in town and vegan!

This place is incredible! They have a very creative menu filled with vegan and allergen-friendly breakfast and lunch dishes. Their large pastry case really puts the icing on the cake! I'm not vegan, but I've had some uniquely flavorful dishes here that I was beyond satisfied with. Their weekly special cinnamon rolls are worth getting there a little early for, and the cookies are also high quality. The food and pastry menus both have seasonal flavors to keep you coming back to try more of their creativity. Service is excellent, the artwork is beautiful, and the music in the background makes for an incredible atmosphere. I can't rave enough about SweetArt!

My bakery item was delicious. My SO is allergic to eggs but wanted an eggy biscuit. Not only did they have a vegan version but they also had vegan pimento. The inside is small and loud but there are seats outside that are directly in the sun. So the atmosphere could be better but it's worth it for the uniqueness and quality of the food.

We were driving through, coming from Washington DC and going back to the Bay area and we looked online for a gluten free vegan restaurant. We read the reviews, the prices, and the menu and we were so excited because everyone said that it was so good. So we ended up driving out of our way just to get some of these supposed great foods. When we arrived and the menu was almost completely different. Apparently it was Google that misrepresented the menu contents. If you want a clearer picture of what they have, go to their website. We were also looking forward to the gluten free bakery items and come to find out they have very little selection unless you pre-order a whole cake or pie. The food was definitely not that great. I'd give it a 3/5. The main message I am sending is don't get your hopes up too high.

My most favorite place to go ever! They have the best food .. homemade quality flavorful! The nachos and chicken wrap are my favorite along with the kale yeah salad! The vegan main event cookies are amazing as well as every other thing on the menu!! The restaurant is very clean, everyone there is amazingly awesome in phenomenal and the food is the best! My favorite place for a Saturday breakfast/brunch. They are always so friendly and do anything to accommodate special requests. While meals are always delicious- the bakery is where this place shines!! To not be deterred by any of the vegan or gluten free options- they are are all above and beyond delicious

Best vegetarian/vegan chicken sandwich I've ever had. Hands down. Delicious vegan cupcake (I got the cookies and creme and friend got the fauxstess cake). My dining companion really liked the burger and kale salad she got, too. Loved the atmosphere - beautiful art, cool repurposed old stove as counter, nice display case, big tables (some shared, some individual), lots of natural light. A few outdoor tables available. Heads up that the acoustics make for a noisy environment, which made it difficult for my dining companion to hear our conversation, as she has some hearing challenges.

It's all over the website but I didn't noticed until after I placed my order they are experiencing high high volumes and food may take a while. We ordered our food at 1:50 and didn't receive it until almost 3:30. If I would have noticed the message we wouldn't have ordered so spontaneously. Plan ahead but great food.

The staff and owner is very professional, helpful, and caring about their customers and always willing to go above and beyond to assure customer satisfaction. Definitely ranked the highest quality vegan restaurant I've ever experienced. Everything about this place is amazing. Our family isn't Vegan but my GF wanted to try it based on a recommendation from a college teacher. I tried the Chicken Sandwich and it was great, the consistency isn't the same as chicken but the taste was almost spot on. The kids (we didn't tell them it was Vegan till we left) had the Grilled cheese and Nachos, both of which I tried and they were amazing and the kids ate most of it. My GF had the Veggie Burger and Mac and Cheese and she loved them. I was so impressed with the food I recommended it to my brother and his wife. The atmosphere is calm and the decorations and paintings really show the owners personality. The Staff was cheerful, patient and helpful. My only regret was not asking what and how they make some of their dishes. Really impressed and would stop in again next time we roll through St. Louis.

Got the sweetburger and side kale salad. Salad first: amazing dressing, seemed to be a peanut or sesame based vinaigrette. Really tasty and provided some acidity to balance the bitterness of the kale, which was crisp and flavorful. Carrots and red onions added a nice crunch. Just overheard another customer complimenting the dressing, so clearly I'm not alone. The sweetburger: website advertises it as world's best, which is a claim I'm taking seriously. Has a nice crust and holds it's shape as you eat it, which are essential in my mind for a good veggie burger. It is indeed sweet, which I think is from shredded carrot. Little heat there as well that slowly creeps up on you. The bread can make or break a veggie burger; too hard, like focaccia, and each bite will extrude the burger until it's on your plate and you've got yourself a bread sandwich. Fortunately, this roll is a soft, artisanal number that suits the texture of the burger perfectly. Lettuce, tomato and a thousand island like sauce don't add a ton but don't hurt either. Glad I made it out here. Staff is friendly and constantly smiling, setting a welcoming vibe. I'm going to definitely make a return trip.

Recently visited New York City and did a 4 day vegan food tour. I visited a total of 10 vegan restaurants there (bakeries included) and I can confidently say that none of them was better than SweetArt. It’s seriously the best vegan food out there! Not even the food capital of America could top it.

SweetArt was amazing!! We heard about this place from the show Fresh, Fried, and Crispy. I got the Buffalo "chicken" sandwich. I couldn't tell the chicken wasn't actually chicken. 🤣🤣 . The "skin" on the chicken was perfect and crunchy. I really enjoyed the bun and the house ranch as well. We both got coffees, which were pretty good. The food took about 5 minutes longer than they said it would, but the food was worth it. I will be coming back.

We were coming from out of state for the week of Christmas and I wanted to know if there were any adjustments to the store hours due to the holidays. The website did not address it, I called several times and even left a message with no return phone call. That was disappointing which is why I'm rating 4 stars. Fortunately, we were able to try the restaurant out.

Sweet Art made our wedding cake (vanilla with raspberry frosting, all gluten free). They’re fantastic to work with. Reine worked with us on multiple food allergies and made the cake look beautiful. I’ve never heard so many guest compliments on a cake! Everyone loved how it tasted. I highly recommend them, especially if you have a gluten allergy and want a cake for an important occasion.

The food is fantastic, but took 2 stars away because the wait time and customer service are some of the worst. We arrived at our designated time to pickup our food only to be told it would not be ready until we got a text and they were running 15 minutes behind. We waited another half hour and still no food or text. Asked for the manager who said that they were waiting on item and it was almost ready. Waited another 30 minutes. Asked to speak to the owner, who said no text means the food isn't ready. We told them that others who ordered after us had already gotten their food and left. When someone finally checked on our order, they hadn't even started it yet. After an hour, they gave us the option to wait and it would be out in 15 minutes or cancel our order, but gave no apologies, discounts or freebies. After waiting that long we decided to wait another 15 minutes. We finally got our food and it tasted very good, but based on the overall experience we would never recommend this place to anyone. Because they were recently featured on Netflix, they seem to be catering to this new found fame and forgetting that many of these new customers will be "one and done" and are neglecting those who would be repeat customers. Chasing that extra dollar won't get you very far, but treating people well most definitely will. Best of luck to you in the future, but you've lost a substantial amount of repeat business from our family and friends for sure.

I haven't actually been here since before COVID-19. However, I plan to go back very, very soon. This is an amazing business, and I love everything about them. The people, the atmosphere, the food, the food, the art, the food. Even though they only offer curbside takeout right now, when I was there last, stepping inside was like stepping into a scene from Sesame Street - a diverse crowd of incredibly happy, caring, loving people, who all seemed glad to be there (staff included), serving great food to friendly neighbors, among beautiful art. And I may or may not have seen a Snuffleuppagus. I am a big cupcake fan, and had to try the Fauxstess, which was amazing. I'm not vegan, but delicious is delicious.

Ordered curb side pickup last weekend and EVERYTHING we ordered was absolutely delicious. Our food was ready exactly when our text said it would be, the street was a little crowded for pick up, but our order was brought out to us quickly once we arrived so that wasn’t a big deal. My fiancé is not vegan and said the Buffalo chickn Zola sandwich was the best chickn sandwich he’s ever had! I enjoyed the cauliflower bites, kale salad and yummy cupcakes! I recommend trying the banana split cupcake, the flavors were amazing! The brownie was also incredible… We can’t wait to go back!!

This bakery is amazing! I have loved every cupcake that I have had there and the prices are extremely reasonable. They have a wonderful selection of cupcakes that includes vegan and gluten free options. Quite frankly, their vanilla vegan cupcakes are the most moist and delicious cake I have ever had. I have never ordered a cake from them but I have seen some of their designs and they are stunning! They also have a wide selection of breakfast and lunch options available (I haven't had the chance to eat a meal there but they are next on the list). The cafe area is beautiful and very family friendly.

Ate here for the first time today. Curbside pickup. We ordered at 3:30ish and it took until 4:15 to get our food but no regrets at all. There were 6 cars waiting as well so glad they are doing business. My friend and I both got the ‘chicken sandwich’. I am a vegetarian and she is not and we both loved it!!! I got the mac n cheese which was average and didn’t really Remind me of traditional Mac n cheese. She got the fries and they had the best seasoning on them — savory with a small hint of sweet. We arrived too late in the day as most desserts were sold out. We will definitely be back. Also the staff was super friendly.

I love this place. I recently moved to Nashville but anytime I visit St Louis this is my go to place. If your not a morning person I encourage you to do something different and wake up and get breakfast here. I love the area and the staff are amazing. The food is beyond delicious it’s heavenly. You can never go wrong with a breakfast burrito if your starving or the biscuit they have. The breakfast tacos are good if your hungry but not starving. The cupcakes change every month and it’s always good. If you ever get a chance to try the hummingbird cupcake buy it. Also the vegan chocolate chip cookies are not for sharing it’s that good. The lunch menu is also good. My favorites are the burgers and nachos. These are very filing. If you ever have time to come on a Friday try the basement plate. It’s very filling. Also follow sweet art on their Instagram so you can see some of their tasty dishes as well as face book.

So I have been several times and the food is fantastic and I love that it’s black owned. However it does not get 5 stars for me because the 2 workers they had running the orders on Friday 3/11 at about 145pm did not come to my car and ask if I was picking up a order but walked to all the other cars and got their order. I arrived at about 130pm and had to re-place my order when I got there(my fault I didn’t submit order) and still did not get my food until after 2pm.

This is hands down my favorite curbside service experience in town. Current Review (2020): I still think this place offers great food for the most part, however, during the pandemic, the quality of customer service has deminished noticeably. Which saddens me. I love that they offer curbside delivery and online ordering, however, with these additions, they have removed accepting phone orders. Their website is not currently geared towards customized orders and does not offer a place to do so. When you add this with the establishment no longer accepting phone orders, this results in them not being able service customers with food allergies or dislikes. Bummer!! Hopefully, someone is monitoring customers feedback and reviews and address this issue soon. I look forward to eating here again soon. Old Review (2018): Absolutely LOVE this place and I've only been twice. 1)Immediately walking in I was surrounded by black art. Pictures of people of color and meaningful art all around. 2) I first had the Maya Angelou and wasn't too impressed with the mac and cheese but their cupcakes, especially red velvet was banging. 3) The next meal I tried when I went back was the spicy chick'n sandwich. Which is by far my fave. Although the cupcakes are extremely expensive, they are light and great and I will be back to the establishment for future visits.

This is our new favorite breakfast place. It is hard to get breakfast with Vegan options. But they have such a great menu. The Bah Mi is amazing. The burrito is also very good. Tacos are good for breakfast, but they have chili on them and that might be a stretch for some for breakfast. Lunch is great as well. Their “chikn” is also Vegan. But you would never know. It is so delicious and would fool you into thinking you are back to eating chicken tenders at the kids table. So many delicious options. I only wish I had tried it sooner.

The food is always phenomenal at Sweet Art. Whether we come in for a meal or simply for dessert, we've yet to be disappointed. They offer an amazing vegan selection, but if you're tardy to the party, you will miss out on some delightful dessert options prepared fresh daily. An added bonus is the amazing art work that adds color and personality to the place. The entire atmosphere gives off that cultural and creative vibe you sometimes crave. I do miss the vegan fish sandwich they used to have on the menu. I hope I am present they day they reintroduce that item back to the menu.

Pros: Food is fantastic! Whether it's the lunch items or bakery goods, I haven't had anything bad. The best lemon cookie I've ever had was from here. The spicy chicken sandwich SLAPS. Cons: On Saturdays it seems they regularly forget items in my order. The first time it was two sauces, the second time it was one sauce, and the third time it was my brownie (fortunately I caught that one before I left). Make sure you check your bag has everything before you leave!

That was very much in effect here. So many delicious things to choose from. I got a buffalo chick'n sandwich which was delicious. SweetArt is one a kind and makes some the most delicious vegan food I've ever had. Upon moving here back in 2017, I was blown away by how many vegan dessert options they had, from chocolate chip cookies to fauxstess cupcakes to cinnamon rolls. I also bought their Valentine's day box one year that featured four different kinds of vegan cupcakes and they all were amazing! Since then, I've branched out to trying their savory options for breakfast and lunch and so far everything I've gotten has been great. I want to highlight their fried chick'n salad which I have fallen in love with - this is one salad you won't be sad eating! :) I only wish I lived closer to downtown so I could frequent this place more often. As always, five full stars for this locally owned small business that I can't get enough of!

There isn’t an item on the menu that I don’t like at this place. Their vegan burgers are so good. With that being said, the takeout times are still a problem. If you’re short on time for lunch, you can’t trust the pickup time on your order to be close to accurate. Plan for an additional 15-20 min.

OMG!!! Hands down the best Vegan food I have eaten yet. We had the Nachos and the Buffalo chicken wrap and all we can say is WOW... So much flavor and nice big portions. The Nachos were fully loaded, messy and crazy good. The Buffalo chicken wrap was huge and oh so good. Best vegan brownies ever! We ate three! This cafe, restaurant, bakery really made our day here in St Louis where we passed through for a night on our road trip. Everything was delectable, from the sweet to the savory. We weren’t even sure we really liked cupcakes but then we couldn’t stop eating the maple one even though we said we’d just have one bite. Really unreal deliciousness, even for the non vegans out there (and not everything is vegan, although plenty of vegan options). An amazing place for a vegan and some vegetarian eats. the place is real laid back and has a great neighborhood vibe to it. the owner is frequently in the shop tending to customers or working on art that is displayed on the walls. We have tried the make it funky burger, a number of bowls and some breakfast items as well. everything that we have tried has been great! one of the best things is that that also have homemade vegan desserts. if you have the opportunity to try the fauxstess, it is a must. I would say its better than the real thing. A great place for weekend brunch or weekday lunch, although it isnt huge so it may be hard to get a table.

The first thing I did when I got to Saint Louis, a couple of weeks ago, was to order the burger with the kale salad. Oh my goodness. It was wonderful. I have eaten in several vegitarian restaurants. This burger was something special. I ate there 2 days in a row. The staff was super friendly and it was a great atmosphere. Positive and calm. You are surrounded by beautiful art. I’ve visited this shop a few times over the years; it’s in my neighborhood and I love supporting local businesses. When you walk in the door you can feel this is a space made for people... ALL people. My mother ordered my daughter’s birthday cake from SweetArt back in July. We were hugely disappointed when we got the cake home - it had no support inside so the cake had started to shift. This was exacerbated by the uneven cake layers (massive gobs of icing were used inside the cake as an attempt to level it out). Once I started cutting the cake, the layers were so wet that it literally fell apart in my hands. The flavor was also lackluster. My mom lives in KY and I recommended she order the cake from this "local awesome bakery". She was utterly disappointed and heartbroken. I felt terrible that she shelled out a lot of money on a cake that did not meet expectations. My daughter (who turned five), took one bite and said "I don't like it." Going in to grab a quick drink or treat is a great experience. I can’t say I’ll ever spend the money on a custom cake again.

Every bite was fantastic!! The sweet burger was delicious, kale salad had some kind of magical dressing on it, and the salted chocolate chunk cookie was perfection. I LOVE this cute little eatery/bakery! I live in CA and requested a Vegan birthday cake to be made for my Bf who lives in STL. Not only do they have incredible customer service. The Vegan Red Velvet Cake was beautiful, delicious, and TASTE just like the real thing! They were able to place a picture of me and my bf on top of his beautiful cake. I Did not design the cake at all; SweetArt ended up making a tall single tier cake with beautiful floral details around the edible picture. We couldn’t have been more happier. We loved the cake so much that we didn’t want to cut through the picture so We ended up wrapping and freezing the top of the cake (leaving the bottom half to eat!) for our personal trip down memory lane next year! Omg!!! I just became a vegan about 2 weeks ago and have been out trying different vegan eating spots and this is by far the best!!! I had. I got the Southwest burgar and a vegan strawberry cookies and creme cupcake and let me tell you, I thought I was eating an all beef burgar that's how good and tasty the burgar was. My spouse and I were heading to St. Louis for a brief time. We had looked at the vegan and gluten free options for dining, and chose SweetArt as our first dive into St. Louis food. When we arrived the place was busy with lunch customers. It was good to see a thriving vegan cafe and Bakery turning tables and to go lunch orders. We stepped up after deciding from all the amazing choices. I got the Southwest Burger and the spouse got the Nachos. We also asked if the owner was around. I had touched base with her on Instagram, letting her know we would be coming. She came out to talk to us. She was pleasant and upbeat, and excited that we actually showed up! I let her know how far we'd driven (425 miles), and that we were there for an art show and my spouse's birthday. She didn't have any cookies ready, and claimed she would bake something just for them. That is service you don't find everywhere. We put in our order and sat down and waited. The art on the walls are by the Baker's husband. And ALL of it is for sale. It was very cool to be inside a funky, almost retro Art Cafe, which just happened to be vegan. The food came out looking fabulous and like I could faceplant myself into it. The burger especially was dripping with sauce, with crunchy onion rings and fresh LTO. The food tasted as good as it looked. We ate, relishing every bite. We can't get this kind of food back home. I almost couldn't finish my burger, but pushed through to the last bite. The nachos were divine as well, popping with flavor and crunchy tortilla chips. Reine finally brought out the birthday cookie, still warm from the oven. It smelled heavenly. My spouse took in a deep sniff, then dug in. I dug into my brownie. We were finally finished and grabbed to go box for the brownie I was taking back to the hotel room. If you are ever in St. Louis, don't miss this spot. First, food and service are perfect, no compromises there. I have two suggestions, the minor one being: please provide a clearly visible drinks menu, and a baked goods price list. And the major one, costing one star (and I am glad to reverse my rating once this is fixed): I was shocked by the amount of disposable items handed out. Even for dine in, there are cups that aren't even marked compostable, and they come with a plastic lid by default. They ran out of silverware and handed out plastic cutlery, again not even compostable. I hope to give full 5 stars next time, leaving no trash behind!

I could cry with how good they are. SO moist, the texture is not crumbly they are sweet but slightly salty with the perfect amount of icing, so they hit each taste bud like a fire work. Before COVID hit, I did make it inside to enjoy the amazing local artwork and the friendly faces behind the counter who not only greet you but make the most caring point to bid you farewell and thank you for coming. Their hemp milk dirty chai is also amazing, so don't sleep on that. Ummmm and that savory menu...drooling... Needless to say. this is a local favorite that I can't get enough of.

Ordered the sonia.sanchez’s spicy love chik’n wrap which came with the kale yeah salad. also ordered the red velvet cupcake. Everything I ordered was phenomenal. The food was fresh and flavorful. I was skeptical about the avocado ranch on the wrap, but it was my favorite aspect of the wrap. Wrap is not spicy at all to me. The kale yeah salad was unexpectedly delicious. I'm craving some right now. Whatever dressing they put on the salad is out of bounds. The kale is not the bitter, veiny kale that so many are afraid of--it's a different variety of kale that taste more like broccoli than anything. The cupcake was soft and moist; not too sweet. Icing was cream cheese and was creamy. I should've gotten the larger one. Cupcake prices are cheaper than some of the other cupcakeries in town. Only thing is I wished the portions were larger.
