Don’t remember how I stumbled upon Pharaoh’s, but these donuts are worth the trip for either location. What you’ll find here are the best textured donuts no matter what kind you enjoy. Grab a dozen with some variety and I promise you won’t be disappointed. The employees are friendly and the prices are extremely fair compared to the superior quality - served with love! Good vibes, awesome donuts!

Excellent donuts. Soft and airy with a wide variety of flavors available. Cheesecake, Death by Chocolate, Choclate Custard just to name a few. If you are in downtown it is worth a stop to enjoy the best donuts in St. Louis City.

Feels like a hole in the wall but don't let looks deceive you, this is THE place for delicious donuts! When I am craving the best I go to Pharaoh's. The glazed is bomb and the apple fritter is a personal favorite. Why not grab some donut holes while you are at it. They also have special ones each time I've gone in. Yum!

This is the BEST kind of donut shop. Small, and off the beaten path. Located in downtown St Louis, if you blink you might walk right by it! But the donuts are some of the very best I have ever had(2nd only too Peterson’s Donuts in Escondido, California) they melt in your mouth. Go get some NOW!!!

I had the new Pumpkin Spice Cake Donut today, and it was the best donut that I have even eaten. I patiently waited for them to premier it, and my patience totally paid off. It was the perfect blend of pumpkin flavor and subtle yet appreciable spice taste. It also had the perfect sweetness. I could not have been more pleased with the flavor and texture. I have been eating a ton of pumpkin/pumpkin spiced flavored foods lately--cookies, pancakes, gooey butter cake, ice cream--and this was the best of them all! You 1,000,000% must try this donut while it lasts. Pharaoh's Donuts make the best donuts in St. Louis! I highly recommend this place. The new location is an upgrade from the old location, but don't let this Downtown location fool you. The cinnamon roll--especially when it is warm and freshly glazed--is truly the best that I have ever eaten. The cake donuts are fantastic, and the blueberry cake donut, crumb cake donut, and red velvet donuts are all amazing. I highly recommend this place!

The donuts here were fantastic! They were some of the best I have had! The service was quick and the staff was very friendly. All this on a busy Sunday morning for them. The overall interior of the establishment: lobby/foyer, entrance, public spaces could definitely use a face lift. We initially thought we were walking into the wrong place. It was a little decrepit and scary looking. Other then that, great presentation on the donuts! We will be back when in the area again. Thanks!

These donuts are absolutely amazing! 😍 Fresh, warm, and made with lots of love! The staff are always so nice and patient when you're selecting your goodies! This new location is absolutely beautiful! It's so open, lights of lighting, and ample amount of seating. You can eat those delicious donuts and watch the hustle and bustle of downtown traffic! 😍 Go and check them out you WILL NOT be disappointed!

Good donuts. Some of them are too much for me. As in too much sugar. If that is your thing you have found your place. Some of the more plain donuts were my favorite. Lite and airy. Definitely a hole in the wall place. In fact it looks like you are walking into a closed business its such a hole in the wall.

Battle of the Doughnut 3 Saturday morning is a time for sleeping in, watching cartoons and trying out another doughnut shop that an insistent co-worker suggested. Arriving shortly after the shop opened, I watched a man walk out the door with three boxes of doughnuts. I began to wonder, what was going on in the small business located on the corner of N. 7th St. Don’t expect a fancy shop with massive machines and a dressed-up dining area. This is a straight up, real deal when you push through the one working door. Yeast, cinnamon, and the sweet smell of sugar will pierce your nostrils when you make your way up the slight ramp and turn left to the reach the counter. I started with a simple glaze and cinnamon roll. I stepped over to a counter to check out my purchase and lost my mind. Both items; fresh, and slightly warm, made me shake my head in disbelief. Is this how a junkie feels when he gets his first hit on a pure drug? I was hooked! I had to go back for another cinnamon roll, adding an apple fritter to my order. Just as I was about to reach in the bag, the male clerk said, “You may want to sit down before you eat that.” Oh, it was on and I did what he said. My toes curled in my shoes after I took a bite of the soft, warm, slightly crunchy fritter. Rodney (the male clerk) was right, I will be back for more. Overall: These doughnuts should be against the law but since they’re not, all I can say is you must try them at least once. Great job to the Pharaoh weekend crew.

Super fresh and delicious. We had yeast and cake donuts that were perfection. At the time we were there, the selection was among 4-5 types, but they were replenishing with others as we left. We are pretty spoiled by high donut standards, and even with those standards, these are excellent!

Was truly blessed to find this Black owned/family business in downtown St. Louis. The line wasn't long (for a Saturday) the customer service was awesome and the donuts...oh the donuts make you melt in place. I will definitely be back. This place will take all the business from World Fair once the word gets out...oh and they do the Bakers Dozen too...

Fantastic donuts. We got 4 to try them out, and each one was fantastic. Really nailed the classic donuts like plain glazed and old-fashioned style cake donut. To me, that’s the sign of a great donut shop- doesn’t hide behind fancy flavors or gimmicks. Solid, actually good donuts even stripped back. We also tried the cinnamon roll donut which was fantastic - somehow felt like the perfect combo of a donut and cinnamon roll. Had a yeastieness to it and was truly spectacular. Worth the stop, plus the folks inside were super nice.

Heard about them and needed to try it. They really nailed it with the donut - inside and outside, all of the ones we tried were delicious. Glad we were just driving thru or I would go here everyday. They do close at 2pm so you'll want to go in the morning, we were lucky to get them as a dessert for the road after our lunch stop. Service and location was great as well.

3 1/2 years ago we stopped in for doughnuts, they were the best I'd ever had...today we go in and they are still the best. New location same great doughnuts. The apple fritter is the best as well. If you are in downtown St Louis...this is a must if you like doughnuts!

The reviews I read were correct when they said this is a hole in the wall. Super run down looking. But the reviews were so great that we decided we had to try the donuts anyway. In my opinion, they were good but nothing special. And the staff were extremely rude to the guests in line behind us - they told them to put on a mask if they wanted to be served and the customer asked if they had one he could wear. The staff member very rudely told him no and to leave, all while the cashier was wearing her mask pulled down (not covering her nose at all). I can understand having strict mask policies, but there was no need to treat the man so rudely and if you are going to enforce strict mask policies for guests you should enforce them for staff as well.

I went to Pharaohs this morning and had a great experience. The owner was very friendly and made great conversation. The donuts were incredible. Very fresh and absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the apple topper donut as the apple is so tasty and compliments the donut and glaze perfectly. I can't wait go back and would recommend this place to anyone!

Donuts are ok, I've had better. They are the only donuts store close to me but I go out of my way to get donuts elsewhere because it just doesn't smell good in there. Doesn't smell good or like donuts at all and they never make my fav wich is powdered cake. For some reason they will not make powdered cake donuts.... Weird

The donuts are excellent best I've ever had, I think it's safe to say best in the state but there is almost hardly any chocolate long John's. And the young lady that works the cashier on Wednesday and Thursday has a nice nasty attitude and I guess if I was young and silly I probably would have lost my temper when she threw my change in my hand. I just shook my head. Great product but there is always an employee that makes you consider going somewhere else.

I had heard about Pharaohs Donuts. I stopped by the donut shop because I was in the area. Parking is limited. A second driver is recommended to move your car if needed. The donuts are so fresh and delicious, they might be worth a parking ticket.These are the best donuts I have ever had in the STL area. I will definitely be back!

I live around the corner and wanted some donuts. I sent my husband to get us a variety because I was working. I was simply blown away. They were fresh, moist, and delicious. They were so good a bought some more home a couple days later....and I am trying to lose some of this Covid weight. He raved about how nice they were and this time he was on time to get the long john he was too late for the first time. I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone.

They have the feel of an old school style classic donut shop. We had a custard filled, blueberry, and a few donut holes. They were good, but certainly not donuts I’d drive across town for nor stand in line in the cold. They didn’t have that soft crunch I believe a good donut achieves. The custard filled donut was the biggest disappointment as the custard tasted like it was canned. The chocolate icing was ok, but also not fresh or rich tasting. Overall, I’d go back in a pinch, but if I was out and about, sadly QT makes a better donut. After seeing other reviews, it seems like they may have other donuts that weren’t available when I visited at 7:30am and it wasn’t crowded. It is worth noting the staff was super friendly, despite sounding like they were dealing with some irrational door dash customers.

I worked at a bakery for 8 years and have tried a lot of doughnuts. These are the best. The chocolate long johns are always freshly iced, and the blueberry cake doughnuts are crispy and moist. I recently hosted a bridal shower and we had their doughnuts, and the guests raved about how delicious they were! I can't recommend these enough.

Had these the last time I was in St louis, it was my first time, and really loved this place. We got a dozen of mixed donuts, a little bit of everything, and they were all delicious. Located just a couple blocks from the America Center, an easy walk if you want a sweet breakfast.

We made an unplanned visit into this donut shop. As we were walking to get some lunch at Medina Grill across the street, we saw a family enjoying some donuts and we asked where they got them from and they directed us to Pharoahs donuts. Although we got there at 11am and they were practically sold out, the employee took the time to go over each of the available donuts. We ordered a half dozen, and now regret that we should have ordered more. Coming from the suburbs of Chicago, we thought we tasted all donut flavors, we were wrong, Pharoahs Donuts have to be the best we’ve ever had, well worth it.

This was my favorite donut place when they first opened...the donuts were ridiculously good. After recently moving back to STL and having them again I was disappointed as the donuts no longer had their perfectly soft texture and delicate and sweet icing. I hope this was just a fluke

It's okay. The donuts weren't labeled so I had no idea what each donut was. There was a giant line, didn't feel like saying what's this one? what's this one? what's that one? so just went with the old standby glazed. Tasted like any other glazed donut I've had.

This place is really good. A co-worker and I stop by this place at least once a week. I have tried most of their different types and have not been disappointed. I highly recommend their cinnamon twists. Sometimes they have a small version, but normally they're huge! The crumb cake donut is great too!

Hands down best donuts in the city. You can smell them from a block away. I found out about this place during the Taste of Downtown St. Louis a few years ago and I've been hooked ever since. EVERYTHING is good: donut holes, regular glazed, cinnamon rolls, long johns, jelly filled, etc. It's so good and Black owned and GOOD.

Pharaohs Donuts delivers the classic donut shop experience. All the usual favorites are available as well as some fun other flavors. If you are in the downtown area, you should swing by! Be sure to bring some cash though. They take cards for everything except tips and of course you are going to want to tip!

Best donuts in town; they absolutely melt in your mouth. It's a little difficult to notice from the exterior (unless the sandwich board is out front), but you can smell it from a block away, and it smells AMAZING. The specialty donuts are great - I'm a huge fan of the cinnamon rolls - but the simple glazed donuts here are just as excellent.

It's well priced and the donuts are really good. It's a small business very personable. The address on google is wrong. If you are on Pine just keep going a couple blocks down it's on 9th and Pine. Definitely going to be our go to St. Louis donut place. I would definitely recommend going there.

Great spot for delicious fresh made donuts. I've been here twice and the food is inexpensive and the service is great. Perfect for a quick delicious breakfast or snack. Only a few blocks from the convention center and locals and tourists are welcomed alike. Most importantly, you can't go wrong with any donuts.

I'm not a donut person at all but my son is what you would call a connoisseur and so due to good review we stopped by the other morning. Good central location but is in a odd spot the donuts really were great and insanely fresh. I asked my wife and son what I should rate a 4(due to being under a parking garage) or 5 star and with no hesitation said 5 star even with the tent setup outside under the ramp lol.

I’ve been looking for good stuff like this since I moved out of NJ a little over a year ago. Absolutely the best glazed donuts I’ve ever had. Never had ones with such an airy consistency before. Cheesecake topped donut was great too. Brought home glazed, cherry topped and strawberry filled and they were a big hit. I’m usually in St. Louis once or twice a month and will need to make it a habit to stop here.

The best donuts I've ever had! found this place on a road trip with a one night stop in St Louis. My family still talks about these amazing donuts. Every other donut I eat now seems extremely disappointing. Got another road trip coming up and we are adjusting the time we leave so we can get to Pharaohs before it closes and grabbing 3 dozen glazed raised to go.

This place has, without a doubt, the finest donuts in st louis. The yeast donuts here are of amazing quality with a unique flavor, marvelous texture, and satisfying size. They have excellent cake donuts as well, offering all of the traditional flavors with some interesting and original inventions as well. Nothing here comes near to excessive or gimmicky, there are true and solid donuts. You will never be disappointed and the staff is extremely friendly.

Let me paint a picture. It's a cold morning in early March. I'm looking for a place to eat breakfast. No luck until I see this donut shop and a small line out the door. Why would people wait in line for a donut? I certainly wouldn't wait even two minutes for a Dunkin Donut. What a surprise. I finally get to the counter and I say to man, shoot, I was hoping to get some plain glazed. He told me I was in the right place, behind him on a huge bakers sheet were 50 beautiful glazed donuts. They serve them warm and my goodness, I've never had a better donut. Just remarkable. As with any good donut shop, they had white milk and brown milk. The donuts are not fabulous just because they are warm. An employee makes and cuts the dough in right behind the glass so all can see. The cook in the back told me there is an art to donut making. I love to see that kind of pride. My donuts were not overly glazed as sometimes donuts can be. You could taste a hint of the yeast used in the recipe. There are not a lot of small family, black-owned businesses. It was fun to see father, daughter, brother, cousin etc. They were all on the same mission. To make the best donut around. And check this out, if you buy a dozen donuts, you get a bakers dozen. A throw back to a kinder and better time. This is not only a great place to eat, but a cultural site not to be missed on any trip to St. Louis. Yeah Pharaohs. A+++++++++++

This environment reminds me of the donut shops in Chicago and New York. Pharoahs made donuts for the elderly couple who use to own World's Fair Donuts before it closed and went with new owners.

Awesome hole-in-the-wall place. Staff was friendly and attentive. We watched them make long johns before ordering a few donuts at the counter. The glazed donut and apple fritter was out-of-this-world! Literally melts in your mouth. My wife said it dissolved. A donut with flavored icing was a bit dried out, but the banana and chocolate flavor was great. We can only wish to find a place like this closer to home.

Donuts are pretty good. I've heard their Apple Fritters are the BEST. But I've been there at least 4 or 5 times and they've never had them available. Their Long Johns have tons of icing on them unlike most places that skimp on the icing. Cool local mom and pop donut shop. You can even see in to see the dude making donuts as you walk.

The location has recently moved a few blocks west of where it came up on google maps, and the donut prices have gone up a bit since they opened, but the donuts are still very well priced. I think there were close to $1 a peice. The glazed yeast donut was perfect and they also make a good cake donut. Btw: I worked with donuts for 6 years at a mom and pop shop in Chicago so I am belive I know a thing or two about donuts.

I normally don't care too much for eating donuts but this place is an exception. These donuts are just so soft for their own good. I could obviously tell the donut twist I had from here was fresh and soft to the touch. The donut does not necessarily have to be warm and cooling down to know it is fresh. Softness explained it all, just the way I like it. And it was not at all greasey. I found this donut to be jumbo for such a small price of $2.00. You also get a choice of 2% white or chocolate milk at an extra cost if you want to add milk with any donut of your choice. For a breakfast stop on your way to work if you work downtown or any time of the day, I recommend Pharaoh's donuts.

Best donuts in Saint Louis. Although there are those who might be somewhat apprehensive about Pharaoh's due to placement of the shop in a parking garage basement, these incredible donuts should be able to entice even the most harsh of critics. You can always count on a good selection of classics (Long Johns, Boston Cream, etc) being available for purchase along with some other donut offerings that appear to rotate in and out. There are not wild flavors or creations like you might find at other donut shops around the region, however, the donuts from Pharaoh's don't need to rely on novelty to entice customers to come back time and time again. Prices are very reasonable and the great folks running at Pharaoh's are very welcoming.

This place is the epitome of hole-in-the wall. Maybe only one sign with muted colors advertising its existence nestled among closed buildings. The interior: disarray, disrepair, fluorescent lights and a perpetual haze of heavy, greasy smoke. It looks like someone decided to set up a donut shop in the closet of an abandoned hotel. I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS PLACE. I was not a fan of sweets or donuts until I had one of their flaky, buttery, perfect basic glazed donuts. They know how to execute a classic. There is literally nothing better in the city than one of their fresh-made, still-hot cinnamon apple fritters. The kind of tasty that makes your whole face tingle. I legitimately plan on waking up at 7am and eating at least a dozen of these bad boys on my birthday. Also, the staff is just as sweet as the donuts :’)

Just stopped here this morning on National Donut Day after many other shops had run out of inventory. When we arrived, the staff at Pharoah's were cranking out delicious donuts as fast as they could! There was a long line of customers and although each person ahead of us seemed to clean out the case, more donuts would magically appear. The glazed donuts that I picked up were almost too hot to eat when we got them, they were perhaps the freshest donuts I have ever had! I shared my dozen with my coworkers and everyone loved them. The staff were super friendly despite the constant rush. Their cashier in particular was super helpful and welcoming. It is indeed a challenge to find the place if you're not in the know but it's well worth the effort (and kind of fun) to locate this simple donut shop that does it right!

Donuts are quickly becoming the next trendy pastry, and shops are popping up all over with fancy Instagram-worty donuts. While Pharaoh's has a few of those, their specialty are the classics: cake donuts, raised donuts, and long johns. And they do the standards better than anyone else. The cake donuts perfectly balance density and fluffiness. The raised donuts are so light you'd think you were eating a croissant. The frosting and glazes perfectly sweet, but not too sweet. The shop is a hole in the wall that you'd never find unless you were looking for it, but once you're inside you know that they take their donuts seriously. Right when you walk in you smell the yeast and can see them make the donuts, and the staff are all incredibly friendly. It truly doesn't get better than Pharaoh's. If you're in St. Louis, this is THE destination for donuts.

I love a great donut. Most donuts do not fall into that category, most donuts do not come close the their full potential. Pharaoh's Donuts are not most donuts, they are a revelation. I am a yeast donut guy and I have my favorites that I will always love. That being said, these are the best yeast donuts in town. They are soft chewy pillowy perfection with no oily saturation. How can they reach such heights of perfection where so many others barely succeed if at all? Before Pharaoh's there was only one place that I would buy cake donuts. Again, Pharaoh's has reached heights of perfection that others will only be able to dream of. On top of the most important reasons to visit Pharaoh's, they also have great service and it is always great to support minority owned businesses. What more could you possibly want?

These are the best donuts in St. Louis. Let me tell you about Pharaoh's donuts. Getting there is like a video game quest. Do not be deterred. These donuts are worth it. Right now,there is a ton of road work happening on the streets around the building. It isn't apparent that the street is even open, and parking can be a challenge. Be resolute. These donuts are worth it. The building itself is confusing. There is no lobby, and the entrance is unclear. Go in the door that is near the sign with a pharaoh on it. You will be faced with three doors. One has a sign saying "other door" with an arrow. The arrow points at a locked door. Choose the third door. You will enter a space that looks nothing like a donut shop. Maintain the course. Turn the corner. You will see a display case. The donuts look standard. Your heart may sink. Keep courage. Choose your donuts. The workers are friendly but firm. All the choices are good choices. The yeast donuts are soft, but haven't absorbed too much oil. They are even better than the yeast donuts from Donut Drive-in. The cake donuts are a revelation. I fear someone may have sold their soul for these recipes. (It was a good trade.) I am an expert at donuts. I know a good donut. I worked in a donut shop in high school and valiently try every new donut joint I come across. And I maintain that these are the best donuts in the St Louis area. Go, now, to Pharaoh's Doughnuts!

Pharoah's Donuts has an unassuming exterior, with no windows and just one entrance door. When you enter the interior is dark and there are no donuts in sight, but the smell is in the air. Keeping waking and around the corner you will come across the counter where you will find the do nu case. I honestly expected a lot more choices they only had about 5 different donuts to choose from, I was a bit disappointed. I settled on a classic apple fritter and a simple glazed donuts. The price was a dollar for the glazed and 2 dollars for the apple fritter. Both of the donuts were warm and fresh. The apple fritter was slightly crunchy with a lot of cinnamon packed inside. While warm I enjoyed the flavor, although once it became cold it was very chewy and not pleasant to eat. The glazed donut held up much better warm and col compared to the apple fritter. It was light and fluffy with a perfect yeast ring around the donut, a sign that it was given time to proof. Pharoah's donuts was definitely good, but not great, and by no means stacks up against John's donuts. When John's is right around the corner there is no reason to choose Pharaoh's over it unless you are really in a hurry becuase the donuts are not as good and the prices are more expensive.

Truly TG Pharohs was open at 6 a.m. I was visiting family in DT STL, and had to get up early to pay for another day of parking. Found them on Google. Walked over n grabbed 6 hot donuts right out of the fryer. The young female cashier was so so welcoming with tremendous customer service. Just a plain, basic donut that was so so warm, tasty, & filling on a cool, crisp MO morning with a good cup of coffee & view of the Arch brought back childhood memories of Grandparents, cousins, Cards games, fishing n hunting. Donuts are good, just an unpleasant smell when you walk through the door, it's also hard to find if you don't know where to go.
