Reviews of Zylberschtein's

One of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had! Super delicious. They are busy on the weekends however, well worth the wait. The pastrami sandwich was a bit too salty and overcooked for our taste buds however, the breakfast sandwich made up for it. Also, a nice variety of pastries. Overall a good experience!

Got myself a pastrami sandwich on a bike trip to this bakery. Everything is a bit pricey here but the pastrami was really special. I was suggested to eat it fresh and it was a pleasant experience. Pickel was juicy and was quite good. I also got a sesame cookie and it was great. The staff is super hospitable. They have some open space to sit and enjoy your food. If you are really hungry go for the bigger portion. Its still small.

Is it expensive? Oh yes. Is it worth it? For when you're craving *really* good pastrami, for sure. Going with five stars instead of four just because the pastrami and egg bagel is absolutely worth it for when you wanna treat yourself. And the bagel? One of the best in the city. Be prepared for a line, but good pastrami in a place that isn't known for it does require a bit of a wait.

What a great place for lox bagels! They have a heated outdoor seating area which is nice. I’d love to try their sandwiches next time. The lox was good, for the price I wish they added more salmon, this is coming from someone who ate lox bagels in NY. Overall good spot!

Fresh Challah and the bagels are unbeatable. Closest thing to a NY bagel - shoot they’re probably better. I highly recommend signing up for their bagel club, if you live within their delivery zones that an added bonus!!
We have also ordered and enjoyed every one of their holiday prepared meals.

I am a sandwich guy and I love pastrami, so I had to try the Frankel (breakfast sandwich): two eggs, pastrami and cheese in a bagel. $13.75 + tax is a bit pricey for a small bagel sandwich, but the pastrami is...simply exquisite. Thick cut, lean, tender, and sapid, I love it. The same goes to the pastrami sandwich, which has slightly larger portion of pastrami (still looks small for $18 though) on rye bread, with a small box of potato salad. Overall, I don't think I'll be dreaming about it at night but it's nice to try them out.
I also tried Zylberschtein's croissant, which is quite special. It's on the sweet side but it also has a hint of sourness. The texture is too solid without enough flake and air but overall, I had an interesting experience. The Challah, which is only available on Friday, is rich and appetizing, I basically ate the whole bread in one afternoon.
Take out service only at the moment but there is a roofed patio in the street.

This has been my favorite bagel place I’ve tried so far in Seattle. I got their breakfast sandwich with pastrami, a macaroon and a chocolate babka. All were fantastic. Will def be back again to try more.

Pricey but worth it for an occasional splurge. My partner and I shared the bagel and lox ($18), which came with a decent amount of lox on a heavenly bagel and delicious chive cream cheese. We also split three different baked goods - the croissant, filled brioche donut, and raspberry rugelach - and they were all fantastic. Also the plain drip coffee was delightful! We took home a half dozen of the bagels, plain, sesame, poppyseed, and everything ($13). Definitely coming back!
Update 4 days later: the bagels grow stale super quickly so only grab as many as you're able to eat in maybe 2 days? Six between just my partner and I was too many!

Solid delicious Reuben sammy. The bread is meticulously grilled with the perfect amount of buttery crispness yet delicate enough to not scratch the roof of your mouth. Excellent proportion of meat to sauerkraut to cheese and rye bread. The meat is a tiny bit salty but balances out with the rest of the flavors. Also wanted to note I ordered the Seattle style and felt satisfied, if you are wanting a New York style, splurge on the big one! The dill pickle was fermented style and yumms, an often times overlooked sandwich accessory.
I also tried the Russian potato salad which was yummy but I was most impressed with the artfully cooked and seasoned fries, golden crispy perfection!
Last, a few hours later I tried their blueberry danish. Firmer than expected but excellent buttery flakey croissant like texture and not too sweet. The center was denser with just the right amount of custardy berries, hit the spot.
Planning to go back and try the sourdough breadand Rugelach!
Reubenator Reccomended!

TL;DR: Superlative ingredients and components, marred by middling execution. Arrive early, or you probably won't get what you want. .
Let's get this out of the way right now: it really IS one of the best bagels you can get in the Puget Sound region. The pastrami and corned beef are both great. And just look at that whitefish salad bagel sandwich! Their coleslaw complements the sandwiches quite nicely; it's one of the better slaws I have had. The roasted garlic cream cheese is an absolute win. Great taste, and as an added bonus, repels vampires and personal space invaders.
The Frankel breakfast sandwich is THE breakfast sandwich you are looking for. It is perfectly executed with an egg fried just right, a hefty dose of their pastrami, melty cheese... so all the protein, fat, and carbs you need to rip-start your morning. Okay, I bet all of their breakfast sandwiches slay, if pastrami ain't your thing.
Skip the classic potato salad, which is bland and exactly the thing that turned me off of potato salad until I learned potato salad can be made tasty. Get the slaw with your sandwich; it really rounds out all of the sandwiches we tried. My Reuben had mild, un-melted cheddar cheese (?!) and no dressing. We got the Bronx Delight, which is supposed to come with mustard, but also lacked any dressing. Their doughnuts are similar to malasadas, and made well, although ours was overcooked on one side.
I would give them another whirl because they really care about their ingredients and components. Despite having such a busy morning, all the staff acted like they were sincerely happy to see more customers, even the difficult customer in front of us. PSA moment: in these contentious times, please tip good service staff generously.

I've been twice in the last four days. 😆 First time was to scope it out before hauling the family along. It's worth a drive if you need to, it's really wonderful. Great bagels, and their breakfast sandwiches are super delish. The quality of all of their ingredients is top notch! Will go again many, many times I'm sure. …

Tried the Byalis and Babka. I've never had a Byalis, and I really enjoyed this one. It was a soft, moist bread with a chewy crust and a good amount of caramelized onions, unlike anything else I've had. The babka was out of this world, it had the right balance of chocolate, almond, cinnamon and sweetness. Too many layers to count, and a crusty exterior.

Been here a few times. Bagels are OK (more hard than soft and chewy), pretty pricey considering the sizes but not bad when you just want a solid sandwich/breakfast. Most expensive lox bagel I've had, also just OK.
Had the croissant sandwich this time which was 👌. Service is always good and usually only 5-15 min wait.

I've come here a few times and everything I've had has been great--wonderful flavors on a peaceful little corner. You can tell they care a lot about the quality of all their ingredients. I also really appreciate they've used hand painted signage.
That being said, I find being asked to pay 20+ dollars for a modest sandwich a bit insulting. I'll do it once in a while because there's very few spots like this in the PNW, but the pricing is exorbitant.

I was excited to go check this place out this afternoon. I called first to make sure they had indoor seating since another place we were going to go didn’t. They said yes but when we got there we realized there was no indoor seating so we ordered to go. The woman taking our order at the window didn’t seem to be with the program so to speak. They put a sign up after we arrived that they were out of bagels and at first I didn’t think I’d be able to get my bagel sandwich which she acknowledged was true, but then later asked kitchen staff if I could still get a sandwich on a bagel and they said I could so that’s what I ordered. We also got a Reuben and a Corn Beef sandwich both 8 ounces. For whatever reason, it took a really long time to get our food. Even the people after us got their food before us. I think we were waiting about 30 minutes and I still don’t understand why it took so long but at one point I actually thought they forgot about us. All the other customers before and after us had gotten their food and left. My son loved his Rueben and I enjoyed my breakfast sandwich however my husband’s corn beef was extremely salty. I took a bite and agreed. He said it was close to being inedible but only ate it since he spent $30 on it. We spent around $100 with tip on just 3 sandwiches, needless to say this was a lot. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be back.

They do everything right. Bagels with plenty of cream cheese, Reuben packed with fresh corned beef and sauerkraut, breakfast sandwiches and pastries to die for. My favorite deli in the city!! Pictured are the Reuben and the 15th Ave. breakfast sandwich

[Edit, original review below from October 2022]
I come from New York, where the creation of bagels is very nearly a religion, a secretive cabal of knowledge that has been passed down from baker to baker for over 150 years.
Zylberschtein's bagel is an incredible product. The ferment on their dough creates something incredibly complex in flavor and texture, and they are a more than worthy evolution of the bagel continuum.
But the service at this place is completely mind boggling. A modest order of sandwiches can take 40 minutes. I ordered two bagels and two danish, that were literally in sight. It shouldn't have taken more than a minute thirty seconds to put them in a bag. It took them ten minutes.
I just don't understand what is with these people. They are either intentionally slow, or the fabric of reality warps at the window, and time no longer has meaning on the other side.
[original review]
The bagels are good, all the baked products are top notch quality, but the service here is insanely poor. It was like watching toddlers try to run a kitchen.

Best bagels/cream cheese EVER! Would not return however after receiving the rude reply from the owner below. (My issue is that, according to the staff, apparently you have to wait in line even if you ordered online and the order is ready to go. I would love to expedite the process for everyone and be able to grab online orders at the pickup window.)
Edit: This is for the owner that responded to this review… I arrived at the restaurant, waited in line for a bit, then moved over to the pickup window after noticing it. No one asked if we had an order to pick up, so another customer asked how we can get our online orders. The staff person who responded said “well, we usually have people wait in line with everyone else to pick up online orders, but I guess I can go grab yours.” I would suggest training your staff on the purpose of ordering online instead of telling me about it. I ordered online to skip the line, but that isn’t what happened to due your staff. It wasn’t busy at that time either fyi.

Massively overrated.
I heard good things about this place, so I finally decided to check it out and have a Saturday morning breakfast.
They did not have the Potato Hash.
Their avocado toast with egg on top was ok but nothing special about it.
For a place serving breakfast, i was surprised they don't have orange juice.
Their bagels are very small.
The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars and not 1 or 2 is because the bagels are high quality.

The bagel and cream cheese were delicious you can stop there if that’s what you want to hear. However, my gosh, when are the extortionate prices for food in Seattle going to stop? This would easily be $100+ for a family of four to have lunch….basically in a parking lot next to dumpsters.
Amy Weinstein
We ordered Passover dinner for four and it was the best decision I ever made! Pick and prep were super easy, the portions were generous and it was all delicious. The matzoh really blew my mind. The whole family complained that we’ve been eating cardboard for 20 years for no reason...guess we have a new Seder tradition. Thanks to Zylberschtein’s for making this holiday special!
JULIE POSPISIL
I had an AMAZING and so very DELiCIOUS pastrami sandwich and a slice of their FABULOUS carrot cake today! My friend and I were doing the yummy, yummy in our tummy song! Love Zylberscheins and their great team! 😊 …

Very poor customer service! Was once an awesome Deli. 6 mos ago, ordered and waited for my food. As I waited, 3 people complained their order was wrong. One customer complained she did not receive one item. Josh, the owner, gave her another item for free which was nice. Today, I ordered online. Order confirmed. Paid nearly $50. Order confirmed for pick-up in an hour. Was there in one hour. Waited at the side window. No body came. No customers inline. 5-6 employees standing around drinking. Made no effort to come to window. Went to front window. No one came to window, yet employees just standing there. I had to yell through the window to get their attention. Was told they did not get the order. Said their system was off line. They were not paying attention to orders being placed online. I waited 1 hr and drove 20 minutes one way only to be told my order was not ready. I cancelled the order.
Update 1/9/2023. Amended my review. I received a call from Josh, owner, this afternoon. Just an awesome and genuine guy and owner of the Deli! Josh has a great reputation in the community. There is a reason. He fully addressed my concerns, and helped to understand Saturday was unusual with their online order system offline. Thank you Josh for the conversation!!!!

Hit up Zylberschtein for some Pinehurst Poutine and won’t be my last trip!
Stacked high with crispy hot fries, warm gravy, in house pastrami, local cheese curds, AND top it off - a fried egg.
Friendly service & they even just added a little outdoor seating area so I can sit and enjoy in the Seattle sun with my pup. Can't complain about the pricing as I know the quality of ingredients they use is top tier and they really value supporting local businesses in the process.
This is a local Pinehurst fave spot, and I am lucky enough to live close enough to smell when they pop things in the oven. Check it out!

One of the best bagels in Seattle. Insanely tasty croissants and doughnuts. Actually, gonna say best doughnut in Seattle, especially raspberry. Sometimes they make mistakes with the order, but they always correct with no problem. Worth the wait in line.
Rachel Rankin
Best food ever! Just tried the Pinehurst Poutine with an added fried egg and wow, amazing. It was SO MUCH food I literally ate only this for a whole day and still didn’t finish. Needless to say you are getting your money’s worth.
If I could change anything I would prefer thinner fries. Given I am not a poutine expert, this might just be how they’re generally made, but I like more crunch and less scrunch.
One last note — the pastrami on top was to die for. I realized I have never had good pastrami after tasting this dish. Thanks for the great meal and Shana Tova! I’ll definitely be back.
Christina Thrash
This place is amazing! No exaggeration, the pastrami was the best I've ever eaten. I had the Frankel bagel (pastrami, egg, cheese) and my spouse had the corned beef hash (which was also fantastic, and their toast is DELISH), and we shared a pear and almond danish. So good. Omg. So so good! It's a tiny little space so if you're planning to eat in around noon on a weekend, you might have to wait for a seat. We got there shortly after 11 am and snagged a spot right away, but it filled up soon after. 10/10, you have to try it!

Sunday foodie run to the next new deli opening in the area... this time up to the Pinehurst hood for sampling Ztlberschtein's (say that fast 😅) pastrami, matzo ball soup, avocado roast, and all sorts of fresh baked yums. The homemade thick cut slices of rye bread are the bomb... but watching the bagels get (properly) bathed in water, I had to see how they fared. While we waited for a fresh batch, talked up the owner and suddenly a blueberry Danish appeared "while we waited". Shortly after the bagels arrived... both with fresh strawberry jam and cream cheese. I can still taste the difference the water mineral content makes in the dough, but solid showing. Definitely on the return list.
Andrew Lewis
Great neighborhood spot with a fresh, friendly interior. Bagels are still really great, especially with the fancy cream cheese. The chocolate cake sample was rich and delicious. The coffee was well made. Can't wait to get back and try some of their lunch foods!
Mary Pat Casey
Yum. The tofu sandwich was excellent. The cheese and the sesame bagels had sold-out by 1pm. Looks like will have to again ... 😊 …
Christopher Walker
Fantastic deli serving Pine Hurst where Standard Bakery used to be located. Full breakfast options. The corned beef is the real deal. Bagels are perfect. Service is friendly and fast.
Larry Le Lievre
Great place! Pastrami is really good, and the NY cheesecake was divine. A bit pricey, however, but worth it if you're craving some delish house-made pastrami.
Jacob R
For a perfect breakfast there would only two things I would choose between, Eggs Benedict or a lox bagel. While there are plenty of place I've been to around the area that have great, I've always been disappointed in the selection of places that I could choose between to get a really great lox bagel. While we have amazing lox here, the bagels have always been incredibly bland, or it seems to just be a conduit for the cream cheese and lox. However the bagel really needs to be more than that, it needs to be the blanket that wraps everything together.
Luckily I think Seattle finally has a place where you can truly get a great lox bagel in Zylberschtein's. Came here for brunch on the way up to whidby Island, and was immediately impressed by the ambiance of the Deli, seems like they really do a good job of even in a small space creatinf a comfortable space for diners to sit and enjoy their food. I of course got the bagels and lox and chose to have it on a everything bagel, I can honestly say that this is the first time since I've been in NY that I actually felt that the bagels were done justice. Incredibly impressed with how crispy they are on the outside, yet fluffy on the inside. Beautifully well done. Really excited to come back and try their reuben, matzo ball soup, and potato salad.
Blaine Le Comte
We first tried their food when they did a pop up on Lake City way and boy were we happy to have gone to try the food. I had the soup and pastrami sandwich and they both were amazing. We found out where they were opening their bakery and waited. We would drive by every so often to see if they were open yet. As soon as we saw they had opened we went in to have lunch. I had the Chopped Liver sandwich with Russian Potato Salad. The Chopped Liver was great. Lots of flavor with a smooth satisfying texture. The potato salad had great flavor and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. When you go be prepared to wait in line because I do not see this place not being a little busy with food this good. There is some parking, but be patient, it will be worth the wait.
It is Saturday,7-6 and we stopped in for lunch and I just had the best Pastrami sandwich I have ever had in my life. I am not sure if I can order anything else when I come here. The pastrami had the best balance of fat and meat. It was tender, full of flavor and melted in your mouth. If you like pastrami you should stop in and try the pastrami.
Claire Jenkins
Outrageously good pastrami. I enjoy their pastries, although the bagels are good but not like a true East coast bagel. I love the Frankel however and would gladly eat here any time.
Anna Heffernan
I was pretty disappointed that I paid $18 for a lox bagel lightly toasted and got a pretty burnt bagel that was less than 4 inches across. It was tasty, I just wish I had known how small the portion was
Kyle Northcott
Generous portions, delicious sandwiches. Bagels are just ok IMO - very dense / chewy. They sell out early so plan accordingly. Wasn’t a fan of the black & white cookie (way too dense for me) and the rye bread wasn’t as fresh as it could have been, but overall great neighborhood spot.
S Di
Amazing bakery with an awesome selection of breads, sandwiches, sweets and specials. As one of the few places for authentic Jewish foods, that just happens to be high quality, I can't recommend the place enough.
Lincoln Perino
Delicious! Baked goods that I've tried have all been terrific as are the sandwiches. Definitely worth making part of your routine
Stephanie
My go to joint to pick up baked goods including bagels, donuts, cookies, croissants and whatever tasty pastries are present for the day. Always a friendly and welcoming person to help you with your choices. Nothing I’ve eaten from here has disappointed - the jam filled donuts are my fav so far. Give it a try!
Alissa Bilfield
The five stars is for the bagels and schmears, absolutely fantastic. Fair warning, the sauce from the bagel breakfast sandwich turns everything to mush and flavors are very strange. A simple breakfast sandwich that showcases the bagel would improve the situation. Babka muffin a bit dry and hard to pinpoint chocolate flavor. Come for the bagels for sure! They may just be the best in Seattle, especially the sesame.
Steve Heinz
They took about 15 minutes to toast one bagel, with nobody in front of me. Then they forgot the cookie I ordered.
NYC quality bagels, but don’t go if you’re in a rush.
Dan Maskell
Very tasty bagels. The cinnamon currant bagel (Fridays) is great - sweeter than expected but that's not a complaint. As of August 2022 masks were still required, window service only.
Sarah Neville
Great deli, happy I stumbled upon it. I had a Joleen on sourdough for breakfast and it was delicious; there's something a little "extra" about the baked goods. A bit more flavor. If you're going on a weekend morning, I'd highly recommend getting there early; it was getting busy when I showed up, and I heard quite a few 86es from the employees!
Andrew Lee
I’ve kept up with the transition from Standard Bakery to Zylberschtein’s and I’m happy it’s gone well so far. I liked Standard Bakery’s breads and pastries a lot, but I’m glad they’ve expanded their options ever further. I visited on a late Saturday morning and there was a line of maybe 5-6 groups. I liked how they’ve opened up the place – I do wish they had more seating but while they were making the transition I had heard from someone working there that they were thought a restaurant next door was going to sell, but they didn’t so they had to scale back the seating. Nevertheless I was able to find some seats at the window. My partner and I had the half pastrami and matzo ball soup, a salmon and lox bagel, and a slice of almond Bostock. The Bostock was delicious – the challah was rich and had a lot of almond flavor. I also enjoyed the pastrami a lot – the pastrami was seasoned nicely and the bread was glistening with fat. It is cut thicker than other places I’ve seen but that didn’t bother me. The lox bagel with cream cheese was amazing as well. The lox tasted really good – not too salty, the cream cheese was the right amount of tangy and rich, the bagel had a good chew to it, and the onions, capers, tomatoes, and cucumbers were all fresh. The cucumber pickles and green tomato pickles were nicely acidic as well. I can’t wait to try their other offerings.
chloe meisner
great for brunch, love the poutine and bagel sandwiches. They can run out of things so go on the earlier side if you can.
Anshu Saha
I loved their Cortado and apple filled fresh brioche bun. So fresh and yummmmyyyy! My toddler loved it too 💝 …
J. Kenji López-Alt
Awesome pastrami sandwiches and doughnuts. Bagels are decent but lacking in crustiness.
Jim Freed
Love this spot. Great food, fast service, highly recommend. Only issue I have experienced so far is inconsistency. I ordered the 15th Ave once and it was a basic (yet delicious) crossing, egg, bacon sando but the second time I ordered, it came with greens and a spicy stone ground mustard, which made the breakfast sandwich hard to eat. Must have been a mistake since mustard does not belong in a breakfast sandwich. Will go back and try again. Home made breads, bagels, pastries, deserts, etc are incredible. Highly recommend.
Steven Palefsky
Great bagel and cream cheese. Pastrami was delicious, a little expensive for the small sandwich you get.
Kianna H
Great hidden gem of a place if you are looking for Jewish cuisine. They certainly have a wide variety of goods available. I recommend coming in early to make sure they haven't sold out of your favorites. I really enjoyed the danish and basically any breakfast sandwich is a great choice. Some of the other pastries were either a bit dry, or just heavy when they didn't ned to be. Pastries are on the less sweet side, which I enjoy. Great place to pick up a pound of pastrami!
jonah sigel
Phenomenal bagel and lox. There is no indoor eating options and a healthy line outside but it’s well worth it. The bagels, hot and fresh. The lox the perfect mix of salty and crisp. I had the cilantro and pepper cream cheese and it was epic. I took out some pastrami for later and it was really really fatty. Stick to the bagel and lox!
Susan Stocker
This amazing place is our go-to and, lucky for us, it's just a couple of doors down from us!
The kitchen manager is amazing -- his customer service is above and beyond.
The owner cares and wants you to be so happy. He really, truly does like to feed people. And we love eating what he feeds us!
The latkes are the best I've ever had.
Their pies, which we purchase every year, are the best!
Their cornflake cookies are the best!
Their matzo ball soup is the best!
Anything you get here, you can feel confident it was made with love and with the finest quality, local ingredients.
Nick McClure
The food is probably some of the highest quality baked goods (and sandwiches) I've had in Seattle. The lunch menu is fantastic and all the fancy croissants and pastries make me feel like I'm on the set of the Great British Bake Off. Also the bagels are fantastic too!
I will warn people of two things I hope they fix soon. (1) the ordering mechanism on the website may say you can order / pickup on certain days/times, but they won't be open or have stuff until different times. And (2) check your order if it comes in a bag- a few times we've ordered N items and got home only to find N-1 or N-2 items inside. While consistency isn't the best here, the quality of the food is very high.
Brandon Olander
A wonderful Jewish-style bakery. Stopped here for a breakfast sandwich with the wife and the owner was out front happy to talk us through the menu.
All of his recommendations were great but my favorite was the Frankle. The everything bagel was savory and a perfect balance of rich fried egg and salty pastrami is an amazing sandwich. My wife loved the 15th breakfast sandwich as she is a flakey croissant critic and loved these to butter up the bacon and egg inside.
One thing. Don’t expect to keep a clean and tidy experience these are loaded and hot off the grill so a full contact, napkin assisted, experience is necessary.
Not to be missed though are the pastries, don’t sleep in these as the breakfast and the berry pastries are delicious.
Will be back for more.
M Devan
Bit crowded but worth checking out . Their morning buns , bagels all were good.
S Lamson
Good fries,, different Reuben than your used to.. waited a bit too long than what you'd expect for an abbreviated menu.
daniel jordan
The best bagels in Seattle and their baked goods are pretty high on the list too.
Kathryn Rittweger
Food is pretty good. The challah bread is delicious. The cookies are very yummy. The cashier is great while the other staff always seem annoyed for you to be there and it’s worse if you ask for something like napkins or a fork.
Shai Pesate
Ok so it’s no NYC’s Katz’s but… I tell you what, their Reuben made me cry. Not only because of the price🫣 (expensive) this is Seattles best Reuben NYC style. You close your eyes and take a bite, this sandwich takes you on a ride through the boroughs! Wow this thing is good!!! My wife also passed out from the lox bagel that was one of the best we tasted. So if you miss the deli back home or just want to taste something heavenly, come see these guys.
Justin L
Coming from both the East Coast (NY area) and a Jewish family it pains me to say this but I'm just not a fan of these bagels. I cannot speak for their other Jewish dishes, only the bagels.
Heres why: it all boils down to flavor and bagel texture. The flavor is lacking in the dough for me. An issue they also have with their Cheesecake Squares. For texture the bagels just didnt have that token outer crunch I was looking for.
For bagels I feel will offer if anything more variety and flavors Blazing Bagels down the road has dozens of options. Yet still they don't hit the mark that a classic NYC bagel hits either.
Angie Thibault
My east coast self was so happy to find this place. Best bagels I've had in Seattle.
Dave Bock
Wow! This place is amazing! I had the Ruben with Russian Potato Salad. Bread tasted like it was made that morning, toasted to perfection, Sour Kraut was perfectly balance and the Corned Beef had to be scratch made. Piled high and served warm, it was the best Ruben I've ever had. The potato salad was accompanied by some pickled Green Tomatoes which were out of sight. Had a slice of amazing white cake with Blueberry compote for dessert but could only eat a couple bites because I was so full. Will enjoy the cake for a midnight snack.
If you're in the area and hungry search out this gem, you won't be sorry.
Lakmini Bulathsinhala
Good bagel but slow service and sometimes the cashier (the guy with long brown hair) will forget your order.
Natasha Lillo
Bagels, coffee, donuts OH MY! Such friendly staff, and heaters outside - a huge plus! Will be going back 🫶 …
Fred Wiesinger
Had the "frankle" breakfast sandwich today, and I have to say it blew my socks off! The pastrami was like brisket, which I love, and the eggs were perfectly done. Make sure you have some napkins when you eat it though!
Also picked up a fresh loaf of challah bread since I went on a Friday, and that was similarly superb.
Joey Romness
I've been enjoying Zylberschtein's since the start of the pandemic and they have been lifesavers during these tough times. Josh (the owner) is absolutely fantastic and so kind and everything they make blows me away. Easily the best bagels I've had outside of New York and their sandwiches are also all fantastic. Cannot recommend this place enough. Please support them and give them love.

My first time to this establishment, had high hopes of finding a proper bagel in Seattle. My bagels were a pretty big disappointment...they were clearly over-baked (with a too-crunchy/brown exterior and a tough interior) and the majority of the toppings had come off into the bag. I am hoping that this was a fluke, but even so, I think their consistency needs improvement.
Also ordered a Reuben sandwich, which for the most part was very good -the meat was very tender and juicy and the bread/cheese/sauerkraut were great! My only suggestion is that the meat could use more seasoning to elevate it to a more Katz-deli-like taste. Their classic-potato salad, though, was so underseasoned and flavorless that I didn't even bother eating it.

Amazing humans there and the Frankle sandwich on bialey is the most delicious combo with pastrami and egg wow cooked to perfection! And did you know bagels and breads at the end of the night go right to the food bank how cool is that - great community spot and great giving back too ❤️
Rich Williams
Best food, best customer service, short preparation time…(pease understand the food is so delicious, a line can quickly form - but don’t fret if this happens - it’s worth the wait!) Pro tip? Don’t call - download their newest menu and order ahead online!
What’s not to love!?!?
Zylberschtein’s has become THE delicatessen to warm your heart and belly.
Oh, and the fruit-filled donuts?
no skimping on filling or flavor…heavenly.
I am in love!
Zachary Weatherly
The pastrami is incredible, and the bagels are the best in Seattle. Don't let the prices drive you away, they are worth it because this place does it right! Makes everything in house (including smoking their own pastrami) with local ingredients. Always friendly, and very fast.

Great little neighborhood Jewish Deli and Bakery.
The meats, the breads, the dressings, all made in house.
Please wear a mask at their request.
Little patio off the side to hang out and eat.
Let them know it's your first time 😉
Bridgette Furrow
Nothing bad to say about this place. Great bagels, coffee, pickles, and apparently one of the best Ruebens.
Jonathan Yang
Still my go to bagel place, but way overpriced in other areas. I thought it was expensive a couple years ago and recently visited to get a Ruben. Prepare yourself for sticker shock. For me, it wasn't the type of Reuben I was hoping for, which is thin slices of tender meat. This version is very thick slices of slow cooked meat, which you might love, but just didn't do it for me. YMMV.
Ryan King
Best Bagels in Seattle, hands down. The pastrami is melt in your mouth delicious. If you haven't been, you must go. Also, they offer regular bagel delivery to your home!!!
Elizabeth Zampino
We go here weekly. This wonderful deli has helped us through the pandemic. For weeks the only face we saw outside our household was Josh’s. We love love love the bagels, pastries, sandwiches… soup. It’s all good and truly worth every penny. Support this local deli!
Michael Lynch
One of the best bagels I’ve ever had! Bagels were just coming out the oven. Try the seasonal cream cheese - absolutely amazing. Super friendly staff and worth the small wait. Currently still walk up for ordering but they have an outside patio area to sit and eat.
Myrna Barrera
Bagels are a bit too dense for my liking and the veggie Frankel could have benefitted from some cream cheese to prevent dryness. The salmon from the lox did not taste fresh.
Julie Harrison
The food is excellent! A bit pricey but worth it! You get a large portion, and like the old saying says "you get what you pay for"! Two fairly minor complaints: a ridiculously long line to pay for a phone in order. When we arrived, the employee said ordering on line was the way to go - as you can prepay. However, I had already tried to order on line but it said "out of stock" for corned beef hash (and this was their own website, not grub hub, etc) but when I called to double check, they actually did have corned beef hash available; so I had to call in the order. But hey, thanks for the tip! ha ha :) Also, I got the lunch box and they asked me what type of cookie I wanted. No cookie was in the order though. I don't eat a lot of cookies, but it is a bummer to pay for one and not get it.
Nick Pauli
Pricey but wow the quality of the meat is basically unparalleled. Sandwiches are excellent, but I'm just getting that meat by the pound from here on out. Plain bagel was decent.
sabryna mcnally
I live in the neighborhood and eat these fabulous bagels often. (Now I am no Karen…) However a female staff member in glasses made me feel like an idiot and was quite rude. Made me uncomfortable to come back.
Elisabeth Knottingham
Great food, great staff. A local favorite so be prepared for a bit of a wait sometimed, but totally worth it.
Shannon Giannetti
Such a great offering of NY items! I was able to buy a ton of pastrami and corned beef as well as fresh bagels & lox for my NJ transplant father - he was very happy.
Also weekend poutine is AMAZING.
Richard
The pastrami is great and the breads and cookies are so good I buy in bulk then freeze some. Their stuff frozen is better than many other places fresh.
Susan S
I love eating local, and I am so picky about my ingredients. You can always count on the very finest quality ingredients at Zylberschtein's. I have never had anything but the best here -- and it's quality you can taste right off the bat.
Their prices are reasonable and fair -- especially considering the quality. The owner is fantastic and truly cares about your experience, the community, and his product.
Their chef is amazing! Today I had the veggie has, two eggs, and toast -- for $13! What a bargain, and how delicious it was. Then for a treat, I had the twice baked coconut croissant. Oh, boy! Heaven!!
On the weekends (and during the weekdays) I am super busy and don't have time to sit down at a nice restaurant and wait, etc., but I like quality food. This is the place to go if you need good food, and you want it fairly quickly (but don't worry if you want to linger -- there's plenty of seating, and they never rush you out at all). You can get it to go as well, and it stays nice and hot.
And everyone here is so friendly and nice! Josh's mom makes the cheesecake (which is peerless -- truly) and lots of other things, too.
A true family owned deli/bakery where they'll get to know you and smile when you walk in. I love this place.
Andrea Naert
Took my mishpoche (in-laws) to lunch yesterday. We got a Reuben, a pastrami sandwich with fries and a turkey bacon avocado sandwich. Three cookies for dessert, too. Due to weather, we headed home to eat. The sandwiches were generous and fresh. The sides, Cole slaw and fries, complemented the mains with a crispy accent to the rich meats and fillings. The cookies were fresh, a wonderful transposition of sweet chewy cookie to bittersweet dark chocolate. I've been raving to my family about this place for two years and it is heartening to be proven right!
Katie S
Massive glow up for Standard Bakery! I love this place. The deli is cozy, the drink selection delightful, and the food incredible!
Love love love the food allergy friendly staff, I deeply appreciate the care and thoughtfulness they put into their food.
I love all of their bread and the salt bagels are just, a dream come true in your mouth. Every sandwich I've eaten here has been A Sensory and Flavor Experience and I savor every bite. (Plus, those pickles! Delicious!)
My roommate loves to walk here in the mornings and pick up pastries and a latte. My sole complaint is that they don't have decaf coffee and come on, who needs coffee when you could be eating another bagel?
Great place. Have some matzo ball soup. Feel better.
(Also, like, all the staff are ridiculously cute and I love all of them???? Bless.)
Tashana Kolanowski
As someone from the Bronx NY I will say that Zylberschteins has the best pastrami on rye sandwiches and the best bagels and lox this side of the Colorado river. Everything I have had there from the potato salad, the jelly doughnuts and chocolate seven layer cake has been sooooooo tasty and good. Unfortunately for my ever increasing waist line they are just a few blocks from our home and we are frequent visitors but we are so happy they are here.
Nicki Rosling
This is a fantastic place! The staff is extremely welcoming, they love to talk to you about the food and this family owned establishment.
The food, AMAZING! I had the Hot Pastrami and potato salad. I took the food bank to my work and shared it with my staff. We were beyond satisfied!!
I had my first Hot Pastrami sandwich in New York, I can tell you honestly it did not compare to the Hot Pastrami sandwich I had here @ Zylberschtein's! Beyond expectations!
I cannot wait to try more of their amazing food!
Kalyssa Eversman
Best Pastrami 5EVER!!! 🤤❤️
I had the Frankel breakfast sandwich with a fried egg, pastrami, and cheddar. It was so filling and so delicious!
Also tried one each of the marionberry and Mexican chocolate donuts that I split with a friend. Two was MORE than enough! They are quite large, but I liked them both. Great dough, but I probably preferred the softer, jammy middle of the marionberry over the chocolate filling. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but was more of a thick ganache consistency.
In my haste to eat I forgot to take photos of the food, but I did snag one of the most recent menu! 👍
*Fast, no contact service at a walk-up window. Call your order in for pick-up if you don't want to wait in the cold.
Ty Reed
The way that I often judge a business has two components - on the quality of the product they provide when things go smoothly, and on the quality of service they provide when things don't go smoothly.
In both cases, Zylberschtein's came through.
The biggest piece of advice I would offer someone considering getting food delivery from this place - CALL THE STORE. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. Online ordering is all done through third party delivery services like GrubHub and Postmates, and for some reason, it's kind of a mess with this establishment in particular.
My initial ordering experience online was bad for a few reasons, but the biggest one was that I was never able to get my food. I sent a polite but detailed message to the email address Zylberschtein's shows on their website not really expecting a response.
To my surprise, I received a phone call from Josh, the owner, a few hours later, who was very apologetic and offered an explanation for why things had gone awry.
Based on the fact that he responded at all, I gave them another shot, and am so glad I did.
This time I called the store to set up a delivery, which was brought promptly, and they even threw in a couple of extra items to make up for the mix up the day before. The food was delicious (we got the regular Reuben and the tofu Reuben) and of very high quality.
I'd give this place 6 stars if I could based on how great the food is and their commitment to customer satisfaction. Highly, highly, recommend.
David Rickabaugh
Always great food and friendly service. The Frankel breakfast sandwich is not to be missed!
Missy Eula
The Best Ruben Ever!
Loads of thick slices of meat- not greasy or fatty, at all. Perfect amount of cheese and Sauerkraut.
I actually think it might beat out NY deli’s!!!
Kristi Horn
Sampled bagels, pastrami sandwich, chicken salad sandwich, and cookies at a local pop up event. Everything was fricking delicious. Signed up the next day for their bagel club. Best bagels I've ever tasted.
Jameison Snyder
Best bakery, sandwiches, bagels in Seattle👌 Pinehurst area😎Hollywood James approves. …
Heather Zweig
So busy but with the wait. Amazing bagels, great unique treats and quick service. So happy to live close by.
Sami Lee
Fun bakery. Went early Sunday morning and there was already a line. Got the bagel and lox—one of the better bagels in Seattle. Want to go back to try the sandwiches and bread
Baselle 5000
Their everything bagel haunts me...in a good way. Had one toasted with lox cream cheese and a coffee. Smashing! There is also outdoor seating with shade a few steps away
Albert Tremonti
This place has one of the best corned beef sandwiches I've ever had, but the downfall is that the sandwhich prices are way too steep. $17 for the corned beef sandwich. The bread is the size of regular bread ( the small slices). There everything bagel was absolutely amazing and very reasonable price. I will be back for more bagels for sure.
Andrew Kim
best bagel in town.
Amber Nosek
My experience with Zylberschtein's catering was 5 star, amazing, crowdpleasing! I threw a Saturday morning birthday get-together for my husband's birthday, and we wanted a bagel bar. Zylberschtein's provided delicious food, perfect amount for the size of my party (including a last minute guest number change the night before!), and it was an absolute hit. We can't wait to do this again next year with Zylberschtein!
Michael G. Barash
I thought the flavor of the food was outstanding, but for the price I would've expected a larger sandwich than what I received. I'm used to the large NY deli sized sandwiches and was a little disappointed to receive a sandwich on the smaller side. But quality and flavor are most important, and in that respect Zylberschtein's did great!
Steve Edwardsen
First real bagel I've had in Seattle, everywhere else it's wonder bread with a hole in it. I've had to toast them every single time just to choke them down. No need here. So yummy! Update: Swung by to get a hot pastrami sandwich, the meat to fat ratio is perfect and cooked just long enough to melt dreamily in your mouth. Was given a sample bread stick while I waited and it was the most delicious thing I've put in my mouth. Need to drop by and get more.
Maia Hammy
Favorite neighborhood hangout for delicious breakfast and lunch items, plus bakery items. We really love the bread and pastrami, but honestly everything is exceptional. Also, it's great that this place, now expanded with a few sit-down tables, has become a real community gathering spot. Dog friendly and handicap accessible (with one nearby parking spot) when it's not too crowded, which is rare.
Roger Knopf
The pastrami is good and portions are large. Unfortunately my reuben was soggy and the bottom piece of bread disintegrated. The matzoh balls in my wife's soup was cold in the center. We had to ask for forks as they hadn't replenished the supply out front. Finally the napkins are really insubstantial in light of the juiciness of the sandwiches. We needed like 10. Overall it seems like their food is pretty good but they don't pay attention to customer service.
Aki Tanimoto
Best bagels and pastrami in the city. I've been scouting out other delis in the Seattle area and this one is by far my favorite. If you're used to New York style bagels, this place may satisfy your cravings.
FYI - it seems that all of the bagels are sourdough based, which may not be to everyone’s taste.
Gabriel Rothman
Quite expensive for what it is. Got the pastrami sandwich and matzah ball soup. The pastrami meat itself was very good, but the bread was average, and the sides were not to my taste. The soup broth is pretty standard chicken broth. The low point was the matzah balls. A great matzah ball should be like a fluffy cloud! These were grainy and dense. Was going to give 4stars until I tried the matzah balls :( There’s a lot of hype for this place, so a bit disappointed. Will try other things on the menu if I’m in the area again.
Helen W
Best bagels in Seattle. I went here when they were still Standard Bakery and I'm so happy that the quality of their food hasn't suffered since the rebrand. They even help me be a better low-waste human by taking my reusable bags to bag my bagels, so I go here to buy a baker's dozen at least once a month. Get there early, though! They sell out fast.
Eyal
pretty dang good bagel sandwiches. it's a little too pricey and sometimes they undercook the bacon, which, for 17$ you gotta get it right. great spot overall though.
Mikhail Talalov
My wife ordered a thanksgiving dinner take out. I picked up a day before the thanksgiving day and a piece of pie was missed. My wife let them know and the guys GOT A WHOLE PIE ON THE THANKSGIVING DAY DELIVERED. Great job going extra mile! Thank you!
Amanda Lopez-Castanon
I was disappointed. I had been craving hamentaschen for weeks, months even and needed a fix. We don't have many options to find those delicious treats here but after searching a bit online, I found Zylberschtein's and said to my family in my out loud voice 'oh boy, today we are getting bagels and prune hamentaschen.' I was excited and placed an order for pick up at 10am. After paying, I found out the order was not going to be ready until 11:45. Fast forward to 11:40, I approach the window to check on my order. Nothing. Checked again at 12:05, nothing. Checked again and at 12:15 it appears; 6 bagels, 1 avocado toast and egg, 1 bagel with lox and cream cheese, a 4 oz portion of lox alone and 6 hamentaschen. Upon inspection of the bag, both mine and my husband's faces sunk with disappointment. The hamentaschen fit in the palm of my hand with room to spare. They were mini mini but the menu didn't state that. They were also more pie then cookie in texture and the filling was almost disintegrated...poor little cookies. The poor bagels were pretty tough and seemed older then they should have been. The lox were nice in flavor and texture. The sandwiches were decent too. My stars are for what's right. The wait, the hamentaschen and the bagels made this experience far less exciting than we had hoped for. I made and attempt at hamentaschen last night because if this is the only place in Seattle to get them, that'll be a never again for me. I hated to write this review as the line never stopped while we were there so I know folks love this place. The yelp reviews were great too so I hope this was a one off bad experience.
*****This is an update written 6 days after my review: My mouth is still agape...I received an email from Zylberschtein's today informing me of a forthcoming refund for the cookies and bagels. Totally unnecessary but WOW, that is customer service to the Nth degree! Thank you Zylberschtein's for reading reviews and making things right. Again, not expected or at all necessary, but very much appreciated. As I said previously, I hated to write the review and still don't feel great about it. I'll be donating the refund amount to a food insecurity organization in the area. Peace!
Kahealani
Frankel on an everything bagel. Bagel was tasty.
Shoshana Beitchman
This was one of the BEST bagels with lox I've ever had! Highly recommend Zylberschtein's!
James Finan
Since I live up north, I was so pumped when I heard this place was opening. The bagels are perfect and the sandwiches are insane. Best pastrami and corned beef in Seattle, hands down.
Extra points for having the sign and painting done by @Zacher1.
Glenn Brumbaugh
Zylberschtein's is the closest experience I've found in Seattle to an authentic NY Kosher deli. The corned beef was juicy and flavorful, and the portion was healthy. My only suggestion would be to tone down the mustard which had too heavy of a horseradish/wasabi type component and masked the wonderful corned beef flavor. Pickles were spot on and staff very friendly. I highly recommend!
Daniel Engelskirger
Delicious hot pastrami sandwich! The pickled green tomatoes were excellent, pickles were crisp, and we finished with a delicious piece of cheesecake. Took some bagels home for breakfast. We will be regulars.
Nathaniel Walizer
Reuben was soggy when they finally decided to make it ... after I went back to the window twice. It was decent and my friends' bagels were good.
Kathryn Saini
Well, I just had the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. The Frankel. Pastrami, fried egg, cheddar, mayo and greens on a sesame bagel. Will 110% be coming back again.
John Kuehlman
I love this place. All the food I have gotten there has been amazing. However I finally tried the baegals on their own. I felt like they were really hard to chew and to rip off. Maybe I got not so fresh bagels?
Jordan White
The Frankel is top 5 best breakfast sandwiches in the city. I have little experience with the rest of the menu because I just can’t help but to order one every time I visit.
Andrea DeWees
Awesome neighborhood bakery and breakfast/lunch/brunch joint. Unique Jewish-inspired menu. They also have poutine! Yummy open-faced breakfast sandwiches on fresh baked bread. Will definitely be coming here again.
Ash K
Update for today, Jan. 12: If you haven't had lunch yet to get ready for the big game you definitely want to check out today's specials! My husband and I split the veggie hash and it is delicious! It's got kale, carrots, potatoes, and beets topped with two eggs. I really hope this goes on the regular menu because I'm always on the lookout for good veggie options. If you've ever had a quesadilla from Patty Pan this is similar, but the addition of the eggs and bread take it over the top! We also got a taste of the butternut squash soup and it's probably the best I've ever had. Put it in your face!
James Buscaglio
I ordered a catering from here for a birthday party. First off, customer service was great, from the ordering process through pickup. Second, the food was spot on... This is not only my opinion but also everyone's at the party who spoke highly of the quality and taste of the meats and breads. I highly recommend Zylberschtein's for great service, good local foods, and an all-around great experience.
Karen Harvey
Very pricey, twenty dollar sandwiches! Delicious whitefish salad on a bagel. Potato salad needs a little salt. Rye bread is disappointing, stick to bagels.
Olivia Shutts
Born and raised NYer here! I moved out to WA right after college, and the change in food was..... Difficult, to say the least. I had yet to find a good bagel in the state until I for this bakery. OH. MY. GOD! IT IS LIKE BEING RIGHT BACK AT HOME IN NY EATING A BAGEL! These are absolutely amazing bagels, and I cannot wait to try everything else the make!
Eamonn Monaghan
Excellent quality of ingredients and authentic preparation. Everything was tasty. 20 bucks for a sandwich means extremely high standard for 5 stars. Will try again.
Dave Miller
Yummy pastrami sandwhich. Love the pickle an the fries are delicious as well. I also grabbed a few salt bagels as I was leaving they were so good they didn't make it home ate them all. Great place go early it gets busy.
Subhrangshu Nandi
we ordered bagel and cream cheese. in order to justify the $5 proce they probably added four servings of cream cheese on untoasted bagels. not impressed. the avocado toast is one of the most blande food items i have had. not worth it.
Christopher B
Rye bread is great. Ruben sandwich was delicious. A bit pricey but it's the only real Jewish bakery between Seattle and Portland. Will be back.
Liah Natas
General manger was dancing, had immaculate energy while serving us.
A Karen pulled up in a porsche and complained about having cookies that were slightly broken in her order, despite her wack energy they calmly replaced her cookies with a smile on their face, before Karen whipped away in her porsche
Good job guys impressive work attitude and customer care 💗💗
Benita
Hot pastrami was yummy. The pastrami, mustard and bread was incredibly tasty. I love a good deli like this. It was a comfort food moment and they came through! A bit expensive though.
Scott Masterson
The bagels here are good by Seattle standards. But dont come expecting a real NY quality bagel like some people are saying.
Anony Mouse
Expensive, but worth every penny.
Had a ham and cheese for our son,
A Ruben for us.
And a nice bagel with cream cheese and green onion. Personal favorite.
Looking forward to the leftovers.
Jesse Lieberman
When standard bakery first opened up, I quickly became a fan. I'd stop weekly for pastries for brunch, when they announced a fundraiser for a deli expansion I quickly donated.
Far from a N.y deli, they managed to maintain a lovely neighborhood atmosphere where they cook all their breads and pastries fresh. The products are all made from high quality materials and the effort shows. I love seeing the seasonal pastries they offer, everyday there's something new.
Thanks for choosing Pinehurst Josh, your bakery is a treat.
Julia Littlefield
The food here is delicious and obviously made with a passion for quality, and the staff are all so friendly. I wish the portions were just a little bigger for the price, but, again, everything is super high quality. Got a lemon tart to eat later in the day but ended up shoveling it in my mouth in the car like a raccoon because I just couldn’t stop after I took a taste.
Thomas Demonbreun
If you get a Reuben from anywhere else, then shame on you. Absolute perfection!
Austin England
ALWAYS so good!
Kerwin Perez
Great bagels! The frankel bagel has really good soft juicy pastrami
Daniel
Good deli compared to other delis I've been to in the area. It was over the holidays, and unfortunately, they were out of a lot of items. Having grown up on good London Jewish delis, in all fairness, I can't give 5 stars... but I'd go again.
Brittney Geleynse (The Witch Princess)
Bagel and lox is the best I've had in Seattle! I had a sesame bagel and they put all the toppings, tomatoes, onion, cucumber, and capers, on the side. Simply perfect!
Jon Solomon
It's new so maybe things will improve. The bagels arw very small and very pricy. The texture was pretty chewy from out to in. I am still wrap my head around a can of Dr. Browns cream soda for $3.20.
Ashley Gillaspie
This is the reopened Standard Bakery. Josh has made a warm inviting space to enjoy a great bite to eat. Service is friendly and fast, and of course the food is delicious. I'm so happy they're open again! They love Pinehurst and Pinehurst loves them!
Michael Jacques
Now THAT'S a sandwich
Edit: If I could, I'd leave two 5-star reviews
Andrew Fatman
Delicious pastrami sandwich, but expensive.
Garrett Smith
Fantastic option for east coast bagel seekers in Seattle. This is what a dozen bagels looks like 10min later
Robyn Nolan
Rye bread was v small, and dry. Onion board is not. "board" but a square. Kinda expensive for most items I ordered for the freshness and size. Meh.
Mike Hayes
Nice, chewy bagel with a solid crust - the way I like it. Comes with loads of cream cheese😀 …
Alyssa Williams
By far, hands down the best pastrami I’ve tasted! Extremely thankful for this walkable, tasty deli/bakery in the Pinehurst neighborhood. Much needed. Well done!
Carol Cooper
Ordered pastrami sandwiches. it was great.i should have ordered coleslaw on the side. Very juicy.
Untitled Untitled
We love this place. It's the perfect breakfast destination for a short morning walk. Good, premium food and cozy seating. Best pastrami sandwich I've ever had.
Joe Caropepe
Great food. Fun seeing the open kitchen with 8-10 people enjoying their work.
Limited seating - community table for 8 and a small window-front bar for 8 more. Tables outside in nice weather.
Cynthia Wisekal
Great place to buy bagels, lox and cream cheese. They also sell to die for jelly donuts. This was my first visit. Will be back!
Peggy Conway
The egg and bacon sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. I will be back real soon.
Nasim Bahador
Their breakfast was OK. But their Rubens are drool worthy good!!!!
David Zimmerman
I love eating here! Everytime I visit from Bellingham I always stop here! This restaurant alone makes me want to move back down here! The food is awesome! Thank you, Josh, for always making me feel welcomed!
Rod Swisshelm
Order ahead as the sell out early. In my opinion, the best bagels you can get in this area if you are looking for a taste of your NYC home.
Kegan Warner
The wait was a little long, and the day I was there it seemed like orders were a little disorganized, BUT, oh my, the food was worth the wait. I will absolutely return the next time I'm in Seattle. I wish I lived nearby so I could attend one of their dinners.
Matthew Hatle
Once you pop that Reuben into your mouth, it's game over and you can finally stop worrying about finding the best Reuben in town.
The fries, my God. Stop reading this and go.
Shaun Kuo
You're definitely paying for quality. Pastrami sandwich was on the smaller side for me, but it was absolutely delicious.
Guy Astley
The block party was fun.
Nice music
Matthew Chism
Fantastic (and expanded!) "level up" of Standard Bakery. Everything you loved before is made better by house made sandwiches, salads, pastrami, and more.
Justin B
The food and people here are amazing. Great relaxed family run atmosphere and their baked goods and pastrami are seriously on another level.
Sozae Victor
Best breakfast sandwich in Seattle. Best bagels in Seattle. Best sandwiches in Seattle. Just go if got haven't already.
Larry Cole
Food was as usual spectacular
Had the corned beef hash. Service was a little off and that was unusual. Out of coffee and no forks available. This was immediately and apologetically corrected
darce schweigert
Josh you ROCK! EVERY TIME I've been there, 4 or 5 times ,you have made me feel like a special customer...The food is always great ..
But the reason I comeback is you and your personal passion for what you do . Keep up the outstanding product and service you provie...Z's is my goto sandwich place thanx again Darce Schweigert.....

The meat was amazing. The bread was very good. The service was pleasant. The potato salad was bland. I will be back and try a different side.
Lauren Contreras Loreto
Amaaazing little bakery. Delicious breads, bagels and their brioche donuts are to die for. Very friendly staff too!

Best bagels in seattle. Whitefish salad remind me of home in Miami. So good.
TOJA
Pretty long wait, but it was for a weekend brunch, and it was worth it!
I got the 'Frankel'.
Quality of the bagel was superb and the pastrami was really tasty as well!
Sarah E.
Delicious bagels, breakfasts, bakery treats and coffee! Staff are ever cheerful. What a fabulous addition to the neighborhood.
Hattori Hanzo
Total spent $35 > got two sandwiches. 1 was really good, 1 was not so good. Portions were small.
David Schanen (musicscene)
Wow, I can believe I've been missing out on this place thats just a hop skip and a jump directly north. Awesome pastries and excellent bagels, with friendly service to boot.

The 15th Ave made my friends back home jealous...
Jong Lee
The pies were delicious! I’m not much of a pie person but there was more crust than filling.
Katie Smith
Woah. Sooo good. I had the bagel and lox and the sesame cookie and they were out of this world.
David B. Cross
The best Jewish deli in Seattle! The corned beef sandwiches are delicious!

The only kosher bakery left in Seattle. Always has Challah on Friday, has sufganiyot at Chanukah and amazing blueberry pastry!

Great place and amazing chocolate chip cookies. After the renovation the deli/bakery is even better. Staff is very friendly.
Joe Waddington
Delicious every time. Join the bagle club, you wont regret it.
Richard Silverstein
Great bagels, Pastrami sandwiches, though meat is cut too thick for my taste.
David Bruce
Hands down the best bagels in Seattle. And their savory pastries are also second to none in my opinion.
Megan Foote
Top notch bakery and an equally amazing staff! Do yourself a favor and try everything!
Shawn Schneider (Holden)
Kosher deli pastrami on rye with mustard. Mmm mmm

The best place for when you are craving a bagel with lox and cream cheese + tomatoes, cucumbers, and capers.

Located on an unassuming side street in North Seattle, this deli serves up great options for brunch or lunch.
Sean Ward
