Reviews of Temple Pastries

1st time here. My bike buddy recommended this place.
Very cute setting. Indoor and outdoor tables.
Their pastries are beautiful and tasty.
I got pistachio. Perfect sweetness.
I would love to try other pastries.

This is an interesting pastry cafe. The pastries and cakes have true craftsmanship. I am a fan of John Lobovitz, an American chef who has made Paris his home. He recommends the best croissant in Paris. Best is of course a personal opinion. I usually use the humble croissant as the benchmark for a pastry shop/ bakery. At Temple, the croissant are good no doubt, but why overbake them to dark brown? Is it the flour as mentioned by Christina Wood on her Temple website? In any case, I am not that fond of slightly burnt bitter taste of croissant.
Cafe business is difficult. And the most important is the product, that is 50% of the success. The rest is customer service.
A customer who comes into the cafe is already there to buy. I was there with my meetup group and I came in one day before to make sure the place had ample room. Without going into details, I was dismissed with a lack of empathy. What is ironic is after the lack of courtesy, the young staff asked me if I wanted something to drink! Maybe part of their job initiation.
I had a purpose, so I came in next day. The staff seemed stressed and unable to smile and there was no joy...it was very clinical, anything else, would you like a drink etc etc.
I would hope there is more attention on staff training and making them feel part of the enjoyment of working there.( There is a bakery that is a B corp, someone should check how happy there staff is and learn from that).
Then, I feel, with the prices at this cafe, I would be able to buy a cheap ticket to Paris only after few visits. So would I come back again? Maybe not.

Absolutely fantastic pastries! And the latte was very good as well. Great atmosphere, light & airy. Plenty of seating. Not a lot of gluten-free or vegan options but they do have some beautiful and interesting macarons. I'll be back, for sure.

The main plus point here is their variety, it's probably the most I've seen at any patisserie in the city. However, most of their items are unmemorable; the flavors aren't punchy enough, and the pastry isn't flaky or buttery enough. Exception is their sesame shortbread cookie, which has an indulgent buttery sesame seed spread on top. The berry cookie is good as well.

My massage therapist told me to check it out. I finally came here to see what this place is about.
Interior is welcoming, indoor seating is available for 2 floors.
As for food, relatively high priced menus. I got a porchetta sandwich, artichoke sourdough flat bread, chocolate buckwheat cookie, and pear walnut galette. The first two were too salty for me.
I will not buy them again.
Chocolate buckwheat cookie had a very delicate taste. Not too sweet and nice crunch, just right for me.
Pear and walnuts galette also was very good. Slight sweetness of the pear, crunchiness of walnuts mixed with gorgonzola cheese. Great combination with nuances. I loved it.
I will go back and try other things and may update my rating.
Street parking only. It is in CD, parking may be challenging depending on the time.

One of my go to places for a quick coffee and a light snack. It is right outside my house so that is kind of nice I guess but parking is pretty much available. I think I have tried a lot of their baked items. Recently I tried their orange blossom glazed doughnuts which were good, evenly fried and had a very subtle flavor. Their macarons are also pretty decent. They have a bunch of croissants and I would definitely recommend trying that. I always like how the breads are lined up but I have not tried that much. I did try a focaccia and really liked it. Coffee is from broadcast so pretty good as well. The service is fast and if u r planning to on the weekends then usually there is a queue. Pretty fast moving but they may run out of choices. The seating area is also pretty good and only recently I realized they have seats on the second floor as well and it is mostly busy, or at least the handful of times I have been there. A long time back I tried a savory doughnut, jalapeno cheddar I believe which was okay. All in all it is a nice cafe and I do recommend checking this place out.

Temple makes great croissants. It gets everything right. Even when it looks a bit ordinary, the first bite always cheers me up. If you are a chocolate enthusiast like me, you'll definitely want to try their rye pain au chocolat. Rye flour brings a touch of sour to tone down the the usually sweet pastry while the darker color gives me a sense of tranquility instead of energy.
Temple Pastries is creative with a rotating menu. They usually have just a dozen pastry items including the staples and seasonal items, plus some cakes and desserts. Every time I visit the store, they always have something new that catches my eyes. It could be the meticulously laminated peanut butter strawberry jam cruffin that you simply can't get elsewhere, or the sweet potato everything croissant that I tried and relished. As someone who doesn't like donuts, I even gave their chocolate donut a try because...it's from Temple.
Overall, I like their tip free policy. You pay the listed price and that includes both tax and tips. It's simple and transparent. However, I find their service a bit distant, borderline condescending, probably they know they make pretty good stuff. Just like you can get Temple pastries at Broadcast Coffee, the bakery has a coffee bar that is Broadcast Coffee. For the record, I don't like it. Got a latte here once, pretty sloppy stuff, no latte art and not even full 8 oz.
The store is bright and sleek, there are seatings both insider and outside. If you do get something here, sit down and take your time to enjoy the space.

My go to party box of pastries! You can’t walk out without trying at least 10 items. So many variety and constantly coming up with even more.
Anything that is “croissant-like” is going to be bomb. The creme filled cruffin, the ham and cheese croissant, the croissants, all amazing.
The macaroons have improved and are delicate and tasty. The shortbread cookies are so unique with Asian flavors like miso caramel, kinako, sesame and furikake.
Go early!! Or pre-order!! There will be a line!!
Parking can be difficult in the one way streets but if you’re lucky, there is parallel parking on the main road on Jackson.
Upstairs seating is cute and lofted with plant decorations. Downstairs has limited booths. Outside has 2-3 small tables.

One of my favorite places for unique pastries! I love their selections of savory and sweet croissants, macarons, cronuts as well as their breads. I’ve had their challah and it was amazing as French toast! Prices may seem steep but remember it is tip free, so if you think about it not bad at all considering the quality of their products. Today I got the shallot croissant, gateau basque and Parisian flan. The latter two are seasonals. Everything so delicious!! Definitely an underrated bakery (which works out because their lines aren’t as crazy as other bakeries). Must try if you’re a pastry lover!!
M Harrington
One of the best pastry places that I ever been to as they have all the right elements of excellence in baking croissants. The design of the store is just perfection. Great neighborhood following
Erin Yoon
A cafe/bakery perfect for a biophilia, a connoisseur of unique flavors, and a lover of baking smell and baking white noise. Their pastries stand out from the usual ones you see in other cafes and bakeries, and the interior is flourishing with colors from plants and the furnitures.
Their chai tea latte's flavor was bit more on the weaker side. Also, if you are here to focus on work, the baking smell could distract you easily 🙃
Perry Merrity
Seating is limited and it was packed on a late Saturday morning. But they moved the line efficiently. The pastries were SO good, but so is the coffee. They have creative drinks as well as staples. Highly recommend if you're in the area!
Gutsylady Traveler
I was visiting my girlfriend when she surprised me with some delish cruffins. They’re a cross between a croissant and a muffin. It was my first time I tried this & I fell in love immediately. They even taste better if you microwave it for 12 seconds.
Can’t wait to visit this place in person.
Trinh Mao
I've been here a couple times for the pastries and they've been good overall. I enjoyed the chili verde pork donut, coconut raspberry brioche donut, and blueberry almond tart. The dark chocolate macaroon was a bit too rich for my liking, and fruit cream cheese Danish was not bad but not my favorite since the corners of were a bit dry. I haven't had any drinks yet, since I always have my own coffee.
Ava Elliott
I absolutely love this coffee shop and will be going here more regularly. They have extremely unique pastries such as the cherry love cake, the milk bread, beautifully crafted macarons, wonderful croissants, and mouth watering donuts. But hey it's not all about those pastries... Temple pastries drinks are fantastic and well crafted. I can taste the hard work in every cup. A unique example of a good drink is their tumeric chai. The prices were relatively affordable for me but it's true that with good quality comes higher prices. Their building is very aesthetic and good looking. Let's just say they have amazing style in their food and in their decor. I would totally recommend going here to try it out.
Lindsay P
Cute place! Used to be my absolute favorite bakery but the quality seems to have dipped a bit over the past 6 months. Except for some special weekend-only treats, there are few savory pastries. If you’re looking for something sweet this is a good place (though I recommend skipping the donuts). The disco pony coffee drink is amazing!
Livi N
If I lived next to this bakery, I would surely gain 50 lbs. I have to say this is the best bakery I have ever been to this far. I’m sure I will come across another just as great, but for now this is the one I think of often. There was a long line going out the door, typical of the best bakeries in Seattle even precovid. My horchata custard donut was so good. But it was actually the miso caramel white sesame cruffin that took the cake. I didn’t expect much from something that looked so plain but it was crazy good. Everything was yummy!
Zoe Amaris
Hands down the best croissants I’ve had in Seattle - maybe even the West Coast! The pastries are flaky, moist, and are not super oily like oat croissants. Also, the rye flour in the ham and cheese croissant and the chocolate were amazing! The nuttiness balances the ham and the chocolate respectively. I also tried the sausage croissant and it takes like a Chinese sausage - how fun!
Jaewook J
Croissant specialty cafe located along S Jackson street in Seattle. Croissants are very flaky, buttery, and right mix of chewy and soft texture on the inside. Coffee is good as well, not too much acidity from the taste.
Given the location and quality of their products, the price seemed reasonable. Some may find them overpriced, to pay $6 for a croissant, but given the quality and the claim that the cafe is managed tip-free, we felt they were reasonable.
Be sure to get here very early if you can, otherwise they may be sold out. On weekends, even more so.
Parking is available on street, seating is limited and often very crowded. More suitable for small party sizes, or as a take-out.
Daniel Revier
I also wrote a review for Broadcast Coffee. To me these places are one and the same. The pastries are great here. I've never been disappointed.
I particularly like savory pastries so the croissants are my favorite. The ham and cheese croissant is a classic and my first recommendation.
Anthony Monteforte
All the pastries are delicious. Some items seem to be here all the time and some are more seasonal (the pumpkin cheese cake pastry being my current favorite), different selection during the weekend than during the week. They also have broadcast coffee.
dereck xu
Their croissants are the best I have ever had. The pesto croissant is heavenly. The cronuts are not really my thing. I cannot really blame them since I am not a fan of doughnuts.
Samantha Smiley
All their pastries are top notch! Coffee takes a little extra time but is well worth it.
Maria McManus
Their coffee specialty drinks are super yummy! The sparkling pony drinks are where it’s at. Don’t be afraid to try their specialty espresso with grapefruit or the other citruses they use, it’s a unique flavor combo and now I look for it everywhere! Their pastry especially their fruit and cream filled cruffins are addicting and perfectly fluffy and flaky and delicious!
Sirisha M
Must try their sun dried tomato pesto croissant. All their baked goods are amazing and I would skip their coffee since it’s not the greatest pairing with the wonderful pastries they offer
Caitlin Conley
The decor and space is the best part about this cafe! I don’t believe any of their indoor booths are open to sit inside currently, but they have little cafe tables outside. Beautiful plants line the walls with high ceilings. We stopped by a little later on a Saturday so I think they were running a little low on pastries, but we got some coffee (they made a great almond milk latte for me) and a few cookies, which were delicious and fresh! The banana chocolate peanut butter macaron was definitely worth trying.
Andrew Kim
One of the best croissants in Seattle. Didn’t think their donuts were as good as their other items.
Ilayda Karabayir
Chocolate croissant is soo crispy and delicious!!! Amazing place overall. They really need to have a second person to help the cashier who takes the orders instead of one person getting the order and preparing the food. I saw many people leaving the line because of the long wait. Other than that it’s a great local business that I love!!
Jimmy Luo
Quite honestly the pastries are well above average and the coffee is above average — that said, the line is wayyyyyy too long, it’s like 30 people deep and moves at the pace of 1 person per minute. Furthermore, everyone seems way too cheerful and happy. I worry if it is a cult ??? This is not an ironic or sarcastic review. These are my genuine concerns and thoughts. I’d skip the line if I were you.
Daniel Montesomething (synthbeans)
Beautiful coffee shop with friendly baristas and impeccable interior design.
All the coffee I’ve had there is amazing and I’ve been working my way through all of the pastries they sell, which have ranged from pretty good to absolutely incredible, and they cycle through seasonal options so there always seems to be something new to try. If you’re in the area looking for coffee and/or a sweet bite to eat, would highly recommend coming here.
Marypat Meuli
Delicious and expertly crafted pastries and baked goods. An excellent mix of sweet and savory.
Jack Palevich
Nice selection of pastries in a pleasant space. Would rate 4½ stars if possible. (Was very nice, but not outstanding.)
Ordered Rye Pain au Chocolat, Cardamom Almond Brioche, Tea pound cake, Date Almond Scroll, and Milk bread.
The Cardamom Almond Brioche was too dry for my taste, everything else was good.

I got a mushroom swiss quiche this morning. I was there around 8am and it was still warm.
It felt a bit spendy at $10. However, it had a wonderfully high ratio of mushrooms -- more mushrooms than eggs, I think! After eating it, I felt it was an excellent value.
I really appreciate the tip free standard.
Thank you, Temple Pastries!

Very tasty pastries. I live closeby and have been here a few times, a couple criticisms:
1 - The coffee operation they have here is excruciatingly slow. Each time I've come to even get a simple coffee and pastry it's like 10-15 minutes between ordering and coffee-in-hand. This last time my Americano wasn't even hot. Not a good mark.
2 - There are no actual Trash cans here, only recycle and compost which are very poorly labeled. While I appreciate the vision, the outcome is that both are contaminated with items that don't belong in each (or either). Too much faith in the user. Just because you don't have a trash can doesn't mean you don't create trash; for example the Polystyrene lids they provide for the to-go cups. If you want to help the planet then pick a better lid.
All in all I'll probably still come here from time to time but they could really serve the customers a lot better.
Robb Haydon
Once you try these treats you'll be in the know!
The chef is to be praised for their unique ideas and attention to detail. I'm almost positive they took the time to brown the butter for the chocolate chip cookies and the addition of salt helps bring out the sweetness in each bite.
I suspect this place will be worth a visit every month or so, they seem to have seasonal rotations. The bourbon butterscotch, cranberry thyme, and eggnog macrons need to be enjoyed now, before the next batch of unique flavors rolls out.
Prices might seem high, but remember these are top tier creations and the business does not allow tipping as they provide sustainable jobs. Once dine-in becomes an option I'll be looking forward to feeling more of the vibe this place has to offer.
Victor Broto
You know, I usually like coffee shops for their vibe. I love them if they're a place I like to hang out at. I don't like hanging out much at Temple: the atmosphere feels a little void and untied. The furniture doesn't fit well. The layout is very weird, with awkward empty spaces.
But the coffee, ah the coffee. And the pastries, ahhhh the pastries.
And don't get me wrong. You can hang out in here. I do it all the time. It's just funny for me how much I end up coming here even though I don't totally love how the space comes together.
Mark Wood (Rev. Dr. Mark A. Wood)
Fantastic pastries. Unique creations using high quality ingredients. Definitely a place to visit if you love baked goods. Broadcast Coffee is co-located, so you can get your quality coffee or tea to go with a cinnamon cruffin or almond brioche. Take out only during COVID-19 restrictions.
Aileen Chung
Consistency of this bakery is amazing! Croissants are to die for and always new creations to try. Not your typical bakery and also love that they include cost of living consideration in the prices <3
Brandon West
Masters of croissants. We had two savory (gruyere and shallot, asparagus and prosciutto), two sweet (guava cream cheese, banoffee cruffin) and a savory Japanese cauliflower curry donut. And the coffee drinks were also on point. I fear that this place will soon have a line at all times.
On Any Given Seattle
Loved it. Everything looked great. Thank you. I’d even work there.
Ricandel
I love their croissants (actually taste like a real croissant and haven’t found that elsewhere yet) and the milk bread is great too!
I also really appreciate the non tipping policy. Would definitely recommend this bakery !!
Herakles Li
Got the Rye Reuben Croissant, Smoked Paprika and Jambon Donut, and the Roasted white Chocolate Cronut. All three were really good. The Jambon Donut was probably my favorite. Definitely recommend and order ahead of you don't get there early. They run out!
K Min
Beautiful interior but my latte was over steamed and unfortunately I'm just not a big fan of Cronut.
Huong Le
Awesome pastries. Everything I got so far has been delicious. I love the aesthetic look to these pastries as well as how yummy they are. It is a little pricey but the quality makes it up for it. Also they have random happy hour near closing where all pastries are 50% off so follow their Instagram for that
Chris Gress
This place is always top notch. I live closer to other popular bakeries in the area, but will always make the trip here. 10/5 stars
Macy M
WOW. the lime and ginger donut was great. but the banoffee crouffin was the real highlight. line moves quick, didn't enjoy the drip coffee.
Kimberly Pham
Great location, delicious pastries, and coffee. The reason why I gave this place a 4 is that I'm a bit disappointed at the price increase but quality went down.
They're no longer putting the artistic passion and time into the drink. Doesn't look creative, felt like going to Starbucks; nothing is unique.
When they used to be across the street, under the name of Broadcast coffee, drinks were creative and felt like a touch of love in them. Made me felt cozy and happy to see such a beautiful cup of coffee. Now just nah just a cup of coffee/tea. :/
As you see my pic now and before 🙄😭
Update:
So nice for them to start serving the actual cup and silverware again. Ceramic cup and presentation are back! Now I m giving them 4.5 stars.
jenessa sneva
World class. Everything I’ve tried is flawless. I had a Reuben croissant there that made me so happy on my day off
Eve Matson
Tasty cardamom almond brioche and gruyère caramelized shallot croissant. Looking forward to trying the donuts and other stuff.
August 2021 update: churro donut was tender and yummy - the chocolate sauce tasted like cocoa powder in a great way. The koign amann was top notch, too. The plain croissant was also great - so many layers! I liked dipping it in the donut sauce :).
Also OMG the cardamom almond brioche is divine.
Krystalina Rattanavong
Delicious unique pastries and servers great coffee from Broadcast. The croughnuts are nice and buttery and melt in your mouth. They also have a jasmine tea macaroon that taste just like a jasmine milk tea. The butterfly pea milk bread is also a must try!
Michael Z Zaki
This is one of my favorite places to get coffee, chai, and desserts! A lot of their baked goods are things I've never had or seen before and it's such a delight. The people, the space, and the food make a great experience. I live nearby so frequent this place a lot. Definitely recommend!
Michael Uzmann
Called “The Cult of the Croissant” by owner Christina Wood Seattle’s Temple Pastries has achieved a fervent following in its short existence, and on Thanksgiving Day the Bakery was found operating as usual on South Jackson Street though based on pursed lips and blank stares it seemed as though some employees weren’t excited to be there.
Inspired by local-seasonal Ingredients, offerings prone to frequent changes highlighted on this holiday by 3” Pies including gooey Chocolate Pecan or Caramelized Apples beneath a mountain of Creme Fraiche, Wood’s Viennoiseries all warrant a taste whether Pain au Chocolat built from Rye or Kouign Amann still-molten at the base.
Not prone to the outlandish exploits of Ansel and others, instead creating rustic Cookies such as Chocolate Chip using bitter Nibs or Oatmeal imbued by Figs, Cake Donuts achieve high marks thanks to an oilless texture but plenty of moisture while Date & Almond Scrolls and Pumpkin Cheesecake Croissants each attest to skilled lamination and a lack of reliance on added Sugar or unnecessary additions.
Carly Revier
Our go-to coffee/breakfast spot. Temple has friendly staff, great coffee, and even better treats! You'll find the most selection of pastries on weekend mornings, but weekdays have a decent variety too. They also sell their coffee beans if you'd rather brew at home.
When they are allowing indoor seating, the atmosphere is clean and inviting, though don't expect to work too long from here because there are no electrical outlets to plug in your laptop (at least, not that I've found yet)! I'd love to be able to work from here on occasion, but I also understand that they probably don't want to encourage people to stay all day and take up room other customers might need.
Overall, a lovely cafe that we love being able to walk to from our house in Leschi!
Rob Lisy
Food was good, wait was insane. 30 minutes on a Sunday morning.
If you're down to chill in line and eat good stuff, it's a nice place.
Jonathan Tran
One of my favorite bakeries / coffee shops in the city. Pastries and coffee are always good when I stop by.
Caty Caldwell
Cute, intimate, local coffee and pastry shop. Sells Broadcast coffee (yay!), but the pastries have been a bit dry lately. Gave it two tries before reviewing and was a bit disappointed that the classic croissant was very flaky and burnt on the exterior while undercooked internally. I’ll be back though! I feel better about supporting a local shop over the Starbucks up Jackson.
vino chandrakumar
My absolute favorite place for pastries and coffee in Seattle. Great place to work for a few hrs.
Gareth Snow
I've had a ham and gruyere croissant and a variety of their macarons.
The croissant was delightfully flakey and fresh, and the ham and cheese came through very well, instead of getting lost the way additions to croissants often do.
The macarons look fantastic, taste great, and come in a number of really interesting flavor combinations.
Sam Lin
My favorite coffee shop and bakery in the same shop! OMG!!! I AM IN HEAVEN!!!Make sure you come early (Before 10) in case the bakeries sell out! 😍 …
Ashly Doran
Food and drink were AMAZING. My only complaint was that they cleared my table when i went to the restroom and had half of a cronut and half of my hibiscus tea left 😭. …
Margaret Wilcox
Locally made pastries with great coffee and customer service!! I would recommend to anyone wanted fresh baked goods!
oren
Amazing pastries!!! They are like works of art and taste as good as they look. Currently the togo setup is very good with marked waiting points, hand sanitizer and separate entrance from exit.
Quan Le
You can see them baking the pastries and putting out fresh ones constantly. Lots of great unique flavors. Got the hibiscus cronit and did not disappoint.
Dani Lichliter
The pastries are so good and the atmosphere is super cute! Line was long but went relatively quickly.
Ben Lefor
Very tasty pastries! But, be prepared for a long line as they can get very busy
Diana Tran
The croissant, chocolate chip cookie, and cruffin were soooo good! Super fast service and everyone was really nice. I feel like it’s spendier than some places but not the most I’ve seen. Will most likely return in the future for some coffee and to try out their pastries!
Dharti Patel
Great pastries and great coffee!

PSA: all reviews are given 5 stars as I am opposed to ratings that allow users to make judgements about an establishment without reading the details.
I have not found a cafe (Broadcast Coffee is inside Temple Pastries) that does as much at such a high level as here. Cold brew is incredibly good and super consistent, and the pastry selection is outstanding!!
Vibe of the cafe is chill, bright and cherry (hoping there is a day that they reopen the beautiful looking lofty 2nd floor area).
Staff is incredibly gracious and offers great service, always keeping the lines moving. They understand how to flex their staff to different positions to limit wait times. It is greatly appreciated, as I work in the area and often times need to get in and out quickly.
If you are in the CD, come check this lovely place out!
Jordan Siskind-Weiss
There’s often a very long line but the pastries are worth the wait. The first time I went to temple I was blown away by the creativity and execution of their baked goods! They have a wide variety of options that include classic pastries from all over the world, usually with a bit of a twist. Amazingly, their pastries aren’t just creative but perfectly executed—Great British Baking Show level tasty.
Clayton's Auto Repair
Awesome pastries by a small local bakery, croissants were very flaky and buttery!
Morgan S
I didn't realize Broadcast coffee moved into a new site across the street! It's bigger and they've teamed up with Temple pastries. Highly recommend!
Great coffee and both savory n sweet baked goods fit for a small meal.
Unisex bathrooms with good access.
Monica Jones de Borges
Amazing pastries. Incredibly creative and unique flavors. Delicious. Macaroons are yummy. Coffee is fantastic. The service is terrible. Not pleasant. One feels as if they are bothering them when ordering food. Not helpful. And generally unhappy. It's too bad because the pastries and coffee are wonderful. The staff at Broadcast on Yesler are really kind and helpful. I hope they get some pastries.
Danae Chopelas
I have been eagerly awaiting an excuse to try out temple as I live in the neighborhood, and have been admiring their beautiful space as they develop it. Today was the day!! There was a long line, but it moved quickly and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We got 2 coffee drinks and a rye pane au chocolate and a cardamon, bergamot, chamomile donut twist. The coffee was fine, maybe a little messy and needed to be stirred, but the pastries!!!
Both were amazing!!! We were especially impressed with the rye puff pastry! (Like, how?!? Puff pastry is hard as it is, let alone adding a heavier grain to it! And it complimented the chocolate perfectly). The donut twist (usually a simple affair) had a beautifully balanced and nuanced glaze with so many delicious complicated floral notes.
The space is beautiful, minimalist, white with clean lines and high ceilings and so many glorious plants! I'm very excited for when they can have customers seated indoors (currently they have a very lovely outdoor seating area due to covid restrictions). Definitely my new favorite neighborhood spot! Will be back again, and again, and again!
Younes Nouri
Good bakery, but not great as a coffeeshop. We have had a few encounters where staff give you the attitude. If you're looking for a good neighborhood coffeeshop, the original Broadcast on Yesler and 20th is nearby and they serve the same coffee and staff are much nicer overall.
Krystal Son
Unique tasty treats with presentation!
Dennis Wilkins
Great cold brew, even the canned cold brew is good. Pastries are creative and mostly tasty. Sometimes the most creative pastries end being a little bit of a let down. Espresso drinks are typically well-pulled. Lines can be pretty long on the weekends.
Valene Eschelle-Lievel
OMG this is the best pastry place in the entire world! I am speechless. The flavors are all perfect! They mastered every flavor. Would love to meet the chef. So impressed and delighted! Love everything about this place!
Ashley DeCorçey
I'd give it five stars if they had more normal pastries, but they're a foodie yuppie place.
That said, they open early Saturday, have a good atmo, and don't make you wait forever in line, and their bathrooms are nice.
It's a good place to be when it's cold outside, but no inside seating yet.
Charles Johnson
I can’t stress how amazing this place is. The cruffin is probably the most magical thing I’ve ever eaten. I also had the gruyere shallot croissant and had to sit down because it was that good. Living a few blocks away from this place is dangerous without a solid workout plan. I can’t recommend visiting here enough if you’re looking for a pastry fix. Every pastry I’ve tried has not disappointed.
Melanie Forbes
Weekends are often busy, but their selection is so inventive and fairly well-stocked. Prices feel a little high, but service is included in the price so that there is no tipping.
Karsten Aichholz
Very delicious, friendly staff and short queues. Would give 6 stars if I could. Worlds above the usual bakeries you find in Seattle and the fact they are explicitly tip free means you don’t have to fret about how much to tip the person that puts your donut in a bag.
Kinga Pabiniak
You have to try theirs CRUFFINS! Especially the one with cream cheese!
arianna jimenez
The pastries are delicious. The coffee drinks are solid. However, sometimes the attitude of the staff is unnecessarily obnoxious.
Will Hughes
A great addition to the neighborhood! And fresh roasted coffee to boot. A great selection of pastries, croissant, macarons, tartes! My croissant was delicious but strangely slightly burned on top and undercooked inside. They were very busy so I'm sure it was an aberration.

The rye chocolate croissant was unique and delicious. Lots of layers with just the right amount of chocolate. I'd come back as this cafe has lots to offer.
Chynari Wysinger
Delcious!! Bought a wide variety of pastries and macrons. Also had a Hazelnut Macchiato.
Bradley Smull
Superb in every respect, And easily the best croissant I've had in the Central District!!
Eric Frederick
Worth waiting in the long line. Great coffee and even better selection of pastries.
Dan Tat
Tried a few pastries here. Cardamom Almond Brioche, Rye Pain au Chocolate, Rye Ham & Cheddar, and a macaron. The brioche was good but the outstanding items were the croissants which were nice and flaky. Will stop by here again!
Philip Lau
The croissant still doesn't top sea wolf but it's pretty good. The doughnut was solid and they have a pretty cute storefront. Lines a little slow and it can be quite long.
Kathleen Connor
Wow, delicious stuff, and very cool space, traditional delicious pastries and what seems to me to be some very creative and original ones as well ( though I am certainly no expert, haha!) it is nice to have such a great bakery in the neighborhood..☺️
Caitlin Bercovici
My only cautionary tidbit is that this is not the place to go for breakfast; the usual breakfast fare that one might find at a cafe or diner is absent here. They do have excellent coffee, and several delicious pastries that could suffice for breakfast (the shallot & gruyere croissant, for one), but you won't find egg sandwiches here, save for a couple of options that often sell out quickly. What you WILL find is a delicious assortment of baked goods that are perfect for second breakfast, elevensies, and other between-meal snack-type foods. Many of the pastries straddle the line perfectly between snack and dessert. I come here when I'm feeling peckish and wanting to treat myself. It's a lovely tasty urban oasis.

I recently had a classic croissant, hibiscus cronut, and a ham and cheese croissant. And these were so good I immediately texted friends saying:
“Temple Pastries on jackson street makes some top tier croissants
Great layering, crisp outside, fluffy inside, buttery flavor”
I’m definitely returning
Nici Bissonnette
I regularly worship at Temple on Sundays, as they have blessed the central district with the finest, flakiest pastry dough south of Beasalu. Head to their Instagram page to see what seasonal specials are available on weekends only!
Daniel Englehart
Good coffee, great pastries, and relaxing place to read or study.
Alison
This place is just so wonderful and I count myself as extremely fortunate to have it so close but that's also a burden because everything from the cookies & macarons to cruffins to croissants to breakfast sandwiches and beverages are all high caliber delicious and if I don't restrain myself I'd gain a lot of weight. It's so good!
Sarah Alexander
Been on my list for a long time. I loved the vibes… Totally recommend the Raspberry Cruffin and the Baklava Donut. Also got great coffee from Broadcast Coffee Roasters!
Jo
Beautiful and delicate pastries await you at this temple to patisserie. I recommend the Rye Pain au Chocolate, any cookie and the apple pear tart. (a spectacular treat)
Bonus points for providing employees a living wage (no tips needed) and scrupulously following covid procedures.

OMG, wow. Such a fabulous addition to the neighborhood and the city of Seattle. We make the trek to this shop, passing up many other pastries along the way. Every time we are so impressed! My most recent favorite...a collaboration with Schmaltzy's...pastrami reuben croissant.
Richard McKinney
Incredibly thoughtful/welcoming/efficient team in a beautiful space.
Love that they've priced fairly and are tip free!
Michael Apollo Lira
I FEEL IT IN MY SOUL whenever I get pastries from here! Genius baked croissants and delicious franken-baked abominations and goodies. It's a one of a kind gem.
Arjunn Gopi
Love the coffee and fresh bread!!! Vanilla almond crossiant was out of this world!
Ambience is great. And it’s two blocks away from my house. Will be a regular!
Carol Iwasaki
Lots of variety and great pastries! We love the Broadcast expresso that they serve. Big space indoors allows you to wait in line under cover if raining. Street parking only.
Kapil Agrawal
I tried a freshly baked chocolate rye croissant. Super flaky, airy, and balanced (not supersweet). One of the best chocolate croissants I have ever had!

pastries are amazing, coffee beans are great, but coffee drinks made in store tend to be *scalding* and taste slightly burnt.

Nice place and nice people. Aggressively no power outlets - anywhere. None. Makes it really hard to work. Ok if they don’t want it but it’s not a good spot to work from. Sadly.

Karen Go
for almost $8 (12oz sweater weather latte), i’d expect better steamed milk and latte art. i enjoy the pastries here a lot, but today’s latte was very mediocre
Tobey Layne
Hands down, the best croissants in Seattle, in my opinion.
Anna Baatz
Perhaps my one of my favorite pastry places in Seattle! Their croissant/danish doughs are just superior. Loved the pistachio but could even go heavier on the flavor with pistachio paste inside :) a sample box of their goods always brightens my week! Great for sharing too. Also excellent cardamom buns- make sure to warm them back up for optimal munching!

Visited early in the morning
I bought a pastry full of sugar and milk bread.
The pastry was enough to captivate the taste of the child.
Bread.... Well... The basics of baking are bread. But... the bread...
Even just eating bread is sweet.
It seems that I was not faithful to the milk bread. heavy
Focus on the pastry.
