Customer service is great. The owner was serving us and she's as so nice! She told us how the shop opened in June during the pandemic. There isn't seating inside but just across the street is a cute open public seating area. We got the chocolate chunk salted cookie, the vegan triple chocolate cupcake, mocha, and chia with oat milk. I recommend all of it! The vegans triple chocolate cupcake was perfect, moist and light.

Dropped in on a whim, SO GLAD i did!!! They were sold out of most things so close to closing, so i grabbed a strawberry “pop tart” pastry, and 2 vegan, gf cookies for my friend (so glad they had these options!). The pop tart was INCREDIBLE. The texture was absolutely perfect- pastry is light, flaky, and shattery, perfectly crisp on the sides but perfectly soft around the filling. Delicious strawberry filling, not too too sweet, doesn’t overpower the buttery pastry. Seriously recommend!

This bakery made a cake for a work function. Their brown butter vanilla flavor was yummy and the cake was so moist. I'll be back to order or pick up treats for them.

I was in the Central District after school and craving chocolate cake. I am a big baker and have been baking my whole life so I've had very few chocolate cakes that meet my standards haha but this was SO GOOD. My grandma took one bite and said "this is delicious!!" - also an avid baker. I also love supporting women and black owned businesses so this checked all the boxes. Definitely will come again soon! *Edit - just tried the chocolate chunk cookie, strongly recommend both:)

I picked up a cheesecake and pop-tarts to share with friends over dinner and everything was delicious. I placed an order online, and the owner called me very quickly after ordering to let me know that the items I'd ordered online weren't in stock. The owner suggested some alternate flavors. The pastry is well crafted and there is great attention to detail. The classic vanilla cheesecake is beautifully flavored, especially in a classic dish with many comparisons. Honestly, these pop-tarts are so reminiscent of childhood, so full of some perfectly gooey jam, and a great balance of well done pastry, tasty filling, and a beautiful frosting to make me feel like a kid again. I'll definitely be back for more!

Great addition to the neighborhood! Lovely bakery, great pastries, friendly staff, minority and LGBTQ owned--what's not to love? Try the pop tarts; just trust me on that. Spouse also loves the chocolate chip sea salt cookies. Photo of pop tart added.

Brownies are serious business here! Towering in height and loaded with chocolate chunks. My pro move is to get the deal on six assorted cookies: 2 each of salted chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and oatmeal with white chocolate. (They all freeze well, too, so don’t fret about stocking up.) Also a very fine iced coffee, which pairs great with brownies and/or cookies. Look forward to trying some cakes next.

That's a strawberry poptart back there! Creative and delicious. We also ordered a dozen confetti vanilla and chocolate with cream cheese frosting cupcakes, are those before photographing. Will be back!!

Black queer owned business in the central district right in front of a bus stop. I love their strawberry pop tarts - hand made and a must try! Try to get there early because sometimes they do sell out pretty fast if someone does a big online order.

Ordered a chocolate cake for a birthday party and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone at the party was asking where the cake came from. The owner was so sweet when I picked the cake up, will definitely order from her again.

The dozen salted chocolate chip cookies are amazing! Perfectly gooey inside with a little crunch on the outside, buttery, sweet/salt deliciousness. Easy to order online with convenient pick-up times. There is a loading zone parking space right out front. I can't wait to try more, but the cookies alone are worth a drive.

This review is long overdue, but I got a fantastic and delicious cake here in July for a birthday! It was also really beautiful and thoughtfully decorated. While picking up the cake, I discovered the home made pop tarts and brownies - so good! Highly recommend for special occasion or anytime treats!

This small, black owned business is nestled inside a house. Go up the outside steps and enter with your mask on. The friendly owner took and prepared our order! A selection of ice cream, cookies, pastries, coffee, lemonade and even a bottle of kombucha on offer. Neighborhood street parking.

I live in New York and spoke to Hana about a personalized birthday cake, balloons, & a card I would send to her to be delivered to a venue in Seattle. She was nothing short of amazing in listening to my vision and doing everything she could to accommodate and to create that vision. Unfortunately, the venue was cancelled. Hana once again worked with and communicated with me regarding returning the card and a fair refund. (She had worked HARD and that should always be taken into account). Damn, her desserts are good! I ordered a couple of cupcakes, a brownie and a cup of hot chocolate. Yum, yummer and yummest. I am going to order again. Perfect taste and texture - I can only imagine how nice her kitchen would smell all the time. A humble request to the internet - please order a lot of stuff from her, so that there's none left by the time I want to order, because that's the only way I am going to be able to control myself.

Shikorina is a fantastic local bakery / pastry shop. The smells from all the baked goods are noticeable as soon as you enter the front door. The owner and chef Hana Yohannes welcomes you from behind the front counter and is as warm and welcoming as the pastries. All the food taste great and I highly recommend this spot for a unique off the beaten path shop. Our family's favorites are the poppy muffins and the poptarts. I normally am not into gluten free or vegan friendly foods, but you can't taste any difference with the deserts here.

I ordered a couple dozen individually wrapped cookies for my sons covid- friendly birthday party. There was an order mix up that was brought to Shikorina’s attention an hour before the event. She went above and beyond- dropping by the party with the cookies that were left out (and extras). All of the parents asked where the cookies were from- they were so good! I am extremely impressed with everything about this shop. The treats are delicious, the customer service goes above and beyond, and they even use compostable packaging! Stop by the shop or place an order from here- you won’t be disappointed!

I ordered a brown buttered vanilla cake ahead of time from Shikorina Pastries. It was beautiful! The cake was really nicely decorated - and now I wish I took a photo to share but i dug right into it right away because it looked so tasty (it was!). You definitely need to order ahead of time since the business is just being established (meaning, you can't just walk right in and browse a case to order stuff). But the cake was very good and worth the wait of pre-ordering it a day or 2 ahead of time. I highly recommend it.

this place is SO good. my boyfriend popped in and bought a pop tart on a whim and it was amazing!! we’ve been on a long road trip and have been sampling bakeries everywhere we go and this pop tart was far and away the best pastry we’ve had. it’s probably for the best that we’re about to leave before i find myself here every day!

This place is FANTASTIC. The location? Great! The staff? Friendly and helpful! The food? I want it in my mouth pretty much all the time. The prices? Very reasonable. The mission is also to make sure people get their needs met and they have a sliding scale if you're on a tough budget. Just discuss with them and they will do their best to help accommodate you. I will definitely be coming back for more.
