Reviews of Petit Pierre Bakery - Phinney
Quick adventure turned into a delicious one. Stop by to grab breakfast, hot cocoa and coffee with the kiddos.
The pastries were fresh, perfect pieces of dough that realized their full potential. The breakfast gallete was divine, the "muffin" was heavenly, and the cinnamon bun was great, albeit too much frosting. Overall, a wonderful place for breakfast or a coffee break.
I've heard great things about their croissants so I came in to give it a try myself. The butter croissant I had was good, but personally I prefer something flakier, more buttery, with a harder crust.
The store smells really nice though, and service was friendly. There are a few small tables outside in the patio and in the street.
Fantastic European style pastries. The Earl Grey filled croissant was excellent. I loved the Viennese style cappuccino with whipped cream and cocoa powder. Like a mocha but not overly sweet. They have a few spaced tables inside and a few sidewalk tables.
I’ve been here twice, so far my favorite was the earl grey croissant , I’ve also tried their almond croissant, custard croissant, chocolate raspberry cake and pistachio strawberry tart. Overall the viennoiseries were awesome, the cake and tart weren’t delicate enough I’d say, a little dense to my liking, but I’m still looking forward to try the earl grey cake.
Cute spot with so many pastry and tart options! Probably won’t try the lavender earl grey mousse again though the lavender flavor is overpowering
My research for a good, honest breakfast place in Seattle stops here!! Pastry are AMAZING, technique, creativity, variety are all present at high level. The croissant that you can buy here are at least as good as the one that you can get in Paris. The fig tartine is out of this world, the plum and custard pastry is simply addictive. Try it, trust me!!
We were huge fans of Celine and we're a bit taken aback when when ventured over and found out about the new ownership. However, their croissants are still fabulous! I wish I took a picture of the filing of the s'mores croissant, because it was full of delicious chocolate cream! I mention this because I saw some of the previous reviews about the filling being scant. They must have started filling them up way more, because it was filled just like Celine did. My husband, little one, and I shared the plain croissant and the s'mores, and we were full after! I do have to say the croissants are different than Celine's, in my opinion. They seem more chewy on the inside and flakey/crispy on the outside. Different, but still delicious.
Only negative (which wasn't a big deal), is that when I was ordering, I realized my husband had the credit card. He was waiting just outside with our little one, so I told the cashier I just needed to run and get the card from him. When I came back, the cashier went ahead and took someone else order and I had to wait. Not a big deal, but not something I'm used to. It was a bit awkward, because when I returned (after a few seconds), I wasn't sure if I should go to the back of the line or cut behind the guy that jumped in front of me 🤷. It was a bit awkward.
Delicious croissant 🥐 Freshly baked every day. I tried “earl grey”, “almond” and “ham and cheese” + mocha, yummy yum everything 😋 …
Delicious French Bakery with a lot of different options to choose from and some unique pastries. I tried the pistacho croissant and it was delicious. It tastes just like a regular croissant but with the pistacho sprinkles and a small filling of a pistacho cream on the inside which is very well balanced. Not as overwhelming or sweet as a Baklava.
The coffee was really good. Definitely plan to visit again and try some of the other pastries!
The bacon and cheese pastries (with the hidden egg) changed my life! It was so good, I wanted to cry.
Update: I did cry the next day when I went back and they were sold out. I should have gone earlier in the morning.
They always have amazing treats.
Their seasonal Blueberry tarts are the best.
Friendly service.
I always end up leaving with a box of goodies instead of a bag. 🍪🧁
Petit Pierre is the best place for a fresh, light, buttery pastry. Pair it with one of their delicious coffees, and just call it a staycation. The breakfast sandwich is delicious, and the staff are so nice. To prove my point, once I mistakenly ordered a breakfast sandwich to their Magnolia location, and showed up at the Phinney location I thought I'd ordered it to. When I realized my mistake, they made me a fresh one on the spot so I didn't have to make the drive to Magnolia. This was totally a case of user error, but they were beyond kind and helped me out anyways. I highly recommend this place and it's more than worth the wait if there is one.
Fabulous bakery... great coffee! Try their cinnamon roll.
This pastry shop is very far from my Seattle pied-a-terre but it has become my reliable source for fancy pastries. The price is not cheap, but you are paying for the quality. Over a period of several months, I have tried everything on their menu and realized that some items are merely good. Nevertheless, I have not found a better high end pastry shop in Seattle. If you think you do, then please comment.
Absolutely delightful coffee shop. People are incredibly friendly, and a fantastic selection of pastries. They also have sandwiches which I plan on trying at a later time. The coffee itself is very good, flavorful and robust without tasting burnt or bitter.
Impeccable ham & cheese croissants, and the tastiest sandwiches! The Parisian is a must.
Lovely food options, prompt service, and incredible quality. I've bought breakfast here twice in the last week and I live over 20 minutes away, so it's worth it 🤣❤️
Amazing European pastries = 5 stars
Poor traffic flow, slow coffee service = -1 star
* I love this place, top tier pastries in the city. Looking forward to see how they grow. Once they sort out the traffic flow and have faster, efficient service, this place will be hard to beat!
The bakery is sooo good here.
[Earl grey croissant] is a must try! It’s not too sweet but smells and tastes so tea/leaf-y. Perfect balance between the croissant texture and cream filling.
[Strawberry lemon curd danish] is on the sour-sweet end, very fresh and won’t get bored till the last bite.
[Almond pistachio mousse tart] got both the look and the taste. The inner layer tastes so nutty
The staff at this location used to be very receptive to questions and feedback about what they have. Now it's all just "we bought that bakery" and "this is a completely different bakery now". It only tells me that it is not the receptive staff and the bakery I got to liking so much. RIP
The reviews below are mostly for Celine, not for Petit Pierre.
French dessert pastries ftw, each around $7 will highlight any dinner party. It's about my third time here and everyone can't stop commenting how fresh each dessert looks, how not overly-sugary, and how cool the flavors blend together. I was surprised that the passion fruit tart ended up being my fave since there were so many left in the case compared to sold out cakes and the almost-gone mango vanilla tart. The Napoleon is mandatory I tell you.
Wow!! The Blueberry Whip Croissant was one of a kind!!! Very delicious, flakey, buttery, and sweet!! I loved it! The Earl Grey one was good as well, but I highly recommend the Blueberry one.
Traditional croissant was good, but the Blueberry kind took the cake.
I would pass on the chocolate croissant. Not enough chocolate. Still good though!
Online pre-order was quick and painless. No waits at all. It was prepared within 10 mins of us placing an order. Service was fantastic. There are also two tables outside for outdoor seating.
Update 11/6/22 - I was so curious to find out if the quality of the pastries would remain under new ownership, and my 6 friends and I can attest to that the pastries are still delicious! Although the selections are a little different, the pastries themselves were wonderful. My daughter ended up eating 2 chocolate croissants in one sitting!
Authentic French bakery that specializes in desserts! We've had croissants, cakes, pastries, scones...everything is so well made and beautiful. Easily the best croissants I've had outside of France.
Great coffee. And delicious snacks, both sweet and savory.
Had the raspberry mascarpone cruffin on the second visit. Delicious.
The croissant wasn't great, it was just like the regular bread, not so flaky as I want the croissant to be. The chai tea tasted like just the warm over sweetened milk, that's not chai tea, no flavor of spices.
The celine was much better.
The owners of this place are incredibly attentive and deliver very high quality European-style pastries & much more. Need a hostess gift? Grab one of their gorgeous small cakes wrapped in elegant boxes. Need a neighborhood place to have coffee and a sweet with a friend? They’ve got a table in the corner just for you! They also have a big common table and extra chairs - consider it for your next meeting or get together!
So glad this wonderful place is in my hood!
Can be very hectic but the pastries are out of this world. I won't say which ones are the best since they are already pretty scarce! Never had anything here I didn't spend the rest of the week craving :)
I’ve been wanting to go to Celine Patisserie for some time now and finally paid a visit. The café is in a pretty new building and the décor is contemporary and subdued. When I visited around 3pm on a Saturday, I was one of two groups. The two ladies working were friendly and nice to talk to as well. I have kept an eye on Celine Patisserie’s social media and had an idea of what I wanted. They had a lot of desserts still available when I visited. I ended up sharing a custard tart with fresh raspberries and blueberries, and then also got an earl grey croissant and raspberry mascarpone cruffin to go. The custard tart was great – it was creamy and eggy and the best part were the fresh raspberries. They were floral and bursting with flavor. They were the platonic ideal of a ripe raspberry. The earl grey croissant was great as well with a creamy earl grey filling. As I was eating the croissant, the whole thing reminded me of a cream puff with the crispy exterior and cream filled interior. The cruffin was really good too. The raspberry jam was sweet and tart which balanced well with the creamy mascarpone. Overall, I think Celine is now one of my favorite pastry places in Seattle. I will be back to try more.
Heavenly and decadent! Great customer service, perfectly baked Quiche, flawless chocolate torte and a perfect macaron! Stopped in on a whim as an afternoon treat on my birthday and found a gem. If you have experienced a Patisserie in Europe you won't be disappointed. We have found our new spot for coffee and treats in the afternoon.
Love this little bakery! Their pastries truly are to die for great. Coffee and other drinks are quite good, too.
I love this bakery, and it's my parents' favorite bakery as well! I live in Ireland right now, and I ordered pastries to be delivered on Mother's Day during the pandemic. The owner delivered them himself! He's very nice and loves having conversations about pastries. Thank you so much, Celine, for making this Mother's Day special!
The pastries here are wonderful. The espresso coffees are wonderful. I am in Paris again. Thank you pâtissiers!
With COVID, ordering online (on their website) is easy along with pick up. We have ordered the earl creme croissant (my favorite), along with other savory and sweet pastries.
I met a friend here for coffee while visiting from out of town. It’s a cozy spot with delicious pastries and good coffee. I look forward to coming back the next time I’m in Seattle.
Love having this bakery in Phinney/Greenwood! While I miss the earl grey croissant from the previous bakery, I love that this place has baguette sandwiches, dangerously delicious.
My favorite bakery in Seattle almost. European style pastries taste so rich and not too sweet. Coffee drinks are very good too. I literally go there every week
I’ve been to Celine many times and instead of sticking my favorite pastry, I’ve tried many, and nothing disappoints! The coffee is great, and the pastries are top notch. The decor is also fresh and they spiffy it up once in awhile as well. The tarts, and macaroons are some of the best I’ve had, and the seating is comfortable and homey!
*There’s been a change in ownership and I haven’t reviewed since, that’s why this review is called Celine*
Overall, it’s an amazing pastry restaurant
We came for breakfast on a Sunday morning and I fully loved this patisserie. Their croissants are flaky and buttery and filled with amazing flavours. We tried the Earl Grey and the Pasticcio and loved them. They also offer a wide selection of cakes and little tarts. We tried the Passion fruit tart and were really happy with it. I will definitely come back in my next visit to Seattle
I just found the perfect place for a breakfast. Perfect croissants and delicious lattes. The ham and cheese is my favorite. If you’re lucky you might get one just out from the oven.
It was difficult to pick which pastries because of how good all of them looked. From the ones we picked, they all tasted as good as they looked, not too sweet and not too buttery.
👍
- Monkey Bread was my most favorite - cinnamony and crunchy.
- Kouign Amann isn't the most authentic one, but it's surprisingly flaky and not overly sticky/sweet.
👎
- Oat Milk Latte was on the watery side.
- Pistachio and Strawberry Croissant isn't my favorite. I didn't quite like the sugary fillings.
- Quiche Lorraine has great flavor but lacks the creamy texture that I like.
The best pastries I have found in Seattle! I tried the pistachio croissant paired with a mocha and was quite impressed with the flavor and texture! The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well. I will definitely be back!
This little bakery had big shoes to fill following Celine. It has delicious croissants, but could add more filling as Celine so beautifully did.
Celine is a nice modern coffee shop and bakery with old world craftsmanship. The Cappuccino was smooth and creamy as was the Latte. The pastries are made with care and with European tradition. A nice place to meet up with new and old friends. Highly recommend.
Croissants were OK. Worth eating, but no longer spectacular.
Kouign-amann was a solid step backwards from Celine. The dough was bready, and the textures were homogeneous and boring.
Excellent neighborhood bakery and coffee shop, with a variety of pastries, breakfast, and lunch selections. Perfect flaky butter croissants. Friendly staff.
Parisienne sandwich was really good! Raspberry beignets were soft and fluffy. Latte was okay.
Alex and Daniela are doing a wonderful job here! Everything I tasted is super yummy and made with a lot of care, you can tell there is love in it. They’re also super friendly and love to chat along, which makes a cozy familial atmosphere.
My mom and I visited this adorable bakery after a conversation with one of my nurses about the best French Bakeries in Seattle! This was her favorite and so we had to give it a try. She highly recommended the custard-filled croissant, which was without a doubt the BEST croissant I have ever had. I also had the creme brûlée danish, and after warming it up in my air-fryer I was in heaven. Between the two of us, my mom and I easily spent over $40 lol The staff was very friendly and helpful and didn’t mind at all as we took our time picking out our treats. I also grabbed a chocolate croissant for my girlfriend because they are her favorite, and I’m pretty sure she inhaled it in one bite 😂 To say that I recommend this wonderful cafe is an understatement! Check it out the next time you’re in Phinney Ridge✨
Very busy on weekends, but worth the wait. The pastries are crafted expertly. A variety of types, something for everyone.
I go all the way from Bellevue to enjoy coffee and pastry in Celine because it is the best place for breakfast I found in Seattle area so far! Try hazelnut croissant, you will not regret!
I loved the visual display of their wonderful pastries. Obviously have making croissants down. My only complaint is I felt there was a lack of filling. Celine’s packed theirs very full.
We have loved this place the last several years, especially the kouign Amann. But today it was not the same. Not nearly as good. Maybe a new recipe. I hope they go back to the way they used to make them. The lunch items look wonderful.
Great French pastries. Many options for croissants. Solid drink options.
The pastries were delicious, especially the raspberry stuffed cruffin and veggie quiche. Coffee was solid. The woman packaging the food could have definitely been a touch more pleasant but the guy who rang me up made up for her hastiness and attitude.
Somewhat unassuming from the outside, but great ambiance and even better pastries! The pistachio croissant was great for a sweet treat and the breakfast galette was savory with what I think was a béchamel sauce. Highly recommend!
Great pastries & coffee. A new spot to have coffee with friends that live in Phinney Ridge / Greenwood. Oh & the men that work here are beautiful!!!
Unique and fun assortment of sweet and savory pastries, including tarts and gallettes! Plus a welcoming atmosphere. I'll be bringing my family back to try all the snacks : D
Great neighborhood French bakery and my Saturday morning go-to. Croissants are on point!
I originally wrote my review when this great place had a different owner and name, but as I read though what I wrote, I see the words are still true with an addition: I have visited the Magnolia Petite Pierre and also found it to serve beautifully prepared and scrumptious pastries!
Petit Pierre is a perfect place to meet up to enjoy espresso drinks and pastries while having a good chat with friends. There is a long table in the cafe just right for larger group meetings.
The cafe owner strives to create and maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere in which patrons can indulge in their delectable french style pastries and fancy and flavorful (beautiful looking as well!) desserts. Then there are the savory pastries (gallettes) which are whole delicious breakfasts composed on slabs of crunchy, flaky pastry.
Tasty espresso drinks and chai are two good choices you have to wash down the scrumptiousness.
You should make a plan to meet a friend at Celine’s soon!
5 stars for excellent pastry, solid coffee.
Recent name change apparently. We've been coming here for years particularly on days where our other favorites are closed. Interesting options particularly for savory pastries.
Overrated. I am a big croissants fan and this is not even close to La Parisienne. If you live nearby, then not that bad, but not worth driving. I came around 4pm on Saturday, and most items were sold out.
Insane baked goods. They serve cafe umbria roast coffee, tasted great too
Absolutely delicious pastries and the owners are very friendly! I love to pop in and see what interesting selections they have on rotation.
Very impressive patisserie, and I would have given it 5 stars if I liked sweets. Croissant was pretty good, but not like in France. And I am also mildly disappointed with every bakery that doesn't have whole grain bread. In France they generally do, but I guess that's just because the French have enough sense to eat whole grain bread. We don't, so bakeries don't bother trying to sell it. What a shame!
Delicious pastries.. savory and sweet. Coffee bar and sandwiches too
Best french pastry store in north Seattle. I had the scone of the day. Tender flaky pastry with dried cranberries that was moist not dry. It didn't need anything on it...simply delicious!
Celine has one of the best breakfast sandwiches in Seattle. My problem whenever I get breakfast sammies is that I want a veggie version - and most places just remove bacon/ham and I'm left with egg and cheese . This sandwich has deliciously sauteed mushroom, creamy avocado goodness, with a little bite from the gruyere (I took it home and added arugula) - PERFECTION. 🤤
I feel like over the years I've ordered a lot from here and it's always so good. This time around I got the raspberry mascarpone cruffin and lemon honey whip blackberry tart - DELICIOUS!
Some of the pastries here are delicious / well crafted. The quality of coffee and some of food options like the sandwiches are all over the place. Great place for a little treat overall.
Nice selection of very good French pastries. Coffee was good too. Not crazy prices. Server could have been more engaging.
Excellent variety of flaky, buttery, and beautiful pastry. Very good coffee as well.
Absolutely fantastic pastries! These are some of the best flaky pastries in the greater Seattle area. They have seasonal pastries as well as year-round staples (the crème brûlée danish is my favorite!) with classic and new flavors, including a few savory ones. They make pretty tasty cakes and tarts, too (though I'm still partial to the flaky pastries)
I got a coffee and a croissant, both were excellent. I would come back here again. A good croissant has a buttery taste, a crispy outside, and a good puff. This croissant checked off all the boxes.
Second visit! The bakery is small, cute and homey. A lot of pastry options. Recommend!!
The cruffin was good but barely had any filling, which I’d usually think is fine if it wasn’t $7 🥲 …
Great pastries. Not too buttery sweet and definitely taste more like premium quality pastries. We tried cream cheese and berries, fruit tart, and chocolate mousse. All tasted delicious and just had perfect sweetness. I have no doubt others will taste just as good. Definitely will be back.
Alexi & Danielle, the owners are fabulous bakers. Their creativity and skill at making authentic french patisserie is extraordinary. They are both so warm and friendly, not to mention hard working. Try the creme brule pastry if you like custards. Their savory pastries are also yummy, as are their gorgeous desserts.
Nice bakery with good selection of sweet & savory croissants and other bakery.
The pastry is a fabulous! If you want to try a good pastries in Seattle, this is one of your best spots! I lived across the street for over a year, and never even knew it was there. It's sort of a hidden gem in Phinney Ridge, where mostly locals go. If you haven't made it there yet, I highly recommend it.
We were looking at créme brulee and Google took us there. There was no créme brulee 🙁 but we did find amazing desserts. Very good! …
My husband and I come to Celine every Sunday morning, I love croissants there, all pastry are always fresh and delicious! Coffee is just awesome! The best coffee in Washington state so far, highly recommend!
Great little patisserie to get Macaroons, croissants and great service. I got a variety of snack for a get together. The person that helped me took his time explained his background and his passion to make great croissants. The chocolate croissants and macaroons were the best to me. I would come back to come back to try other items as I was very happy with my purchases.
Note: Street Parking available and I would recommend to come before noon for more options as it sell pretty fast.
This place is a neighborhood gem, but I’ve noticed people also travel far to come here. Their coffee drinks are consistently one of the best in town. The selection of pastries— both sweet and savory — are inventive and delicious. Chocolate hazelnut croissant is one of my all time favorites. I go through withdrawal, if I haven’t dropped in at least once a week.
Surprisingly good pastries. Dark interior, nice outdoor seating. Of the three bakeries in the neighborhood I like this one the most. There are also 2 places that sell pies, and 2 places selling ice cream. Phinneywood loves their desserts.
Wow! I'm so impressed this bakery got their sugar ratio right, not a single element was overtly sweet (think clawing) and the balance of pastry to sugar was fantastic. I could eat all of it without feeling like my mouth is bitter from sugar.
Their online website needs serious help, very confusing and cluttered UI makes for a poor online order experience.
But in person was a whole different story - coffee was delish and we left happy carrying big takeout boxes!
Can not recommend enough, definitely a Seattle Bakery staple.
If you haven't had the egg, ham, and croissant sandwich, do it immediately. The hazelnut chocolate croissant was delicious too. Didn't try the coffee but will come back to do so. Owners are from Moldova, very nice people. Could be cozier inside but still a great bakery.
A beautiful and extensive selection of sweet and savory pastries.
Not only was my latte perfect but the pastries my wife and I ordered were absolutely fantastic! Here's the kicker, the owners are the friendliest, kindest people who will share a laugh with you as they serve their super high end bake goods. This is my most 5 star of all my reviews. Just loved it.
Amazing bakery! We just came in for the first time and we already feel like home. The owners are really nice and the pastries are delicious, probably the best we’ve had in Seattle. Me and my fiancé were fighting over the last piece of their buttery flaky croissant.
I really like their croissant sandwiches, especially the one with avocados and brie cheese (although it is a bit heavy so I can’t have too much every time). The staff are nice and friendly. The coffee is a bit strong.
A great French bakery. Love their mousse cakes and amans. Outdoor seating is also a plus! I make a point to visit whenever I’m in North Seattle or visiting the zoo :))
We spent a few days in Seattle and were delighted to find this little spot. The coffee is great and the pastries are to die for! Ham/cheese croissants, breakfast sandwiches, chocolate croissants, custard croissants; we Indulged in them all!! Kelsey is such a doll! She took our orders on both visits and remembered us the 2nd time we visited and asked about our hike and our home in Oregon near the fires. Next time we’re near Seattle, this will be our go-to breakfast/coffee spot.
I wish I could give this place more than five stars. They make the best pastries we've had in Seattle. The doughs are flakey and flavorful. The selection magical. They make everything from scratch and cut no corners in their preparation, and you can tell with every bite. They have both savory and sweet pastries, and excellent coffee drinks.
The space is also really nice, with lots of tables and chairs to sit and enjoy yourself. If anyone is looking for authentic European-style pastries, this is the place to go!
There was one last pain au chocolat when I arrived 10 minutes before closing this afternoon.
The server behind the counter found it on a tray when I asked if they had any left as there were none on display, and said, "it must have been meant for you."
Oh yes, it was meant for me. It was a sublime chocolate croissant, equal to any in Paris. And still crispy in the afternoon, unlike some that turn soft late in the day. So delicious, I will definitely be back.
Tried some savory and sweet pastries and both were good! The savory ones were flavorful, especially the croissant sandwich which came with a little side of salad. The crème brulée tart was just the right amount of sweetness. The pistachio croissant was okay. The salted caramel tart with macadamia nuts was so decadent and delicious! Lastly, the maracchino coffee - yum! It's not displayed on the menu, but the owner made a great one. So much, so that we ordered 2 more of it!! It's one of the few coffee shops in Seattle that has it.
The quality of the pastries goes up and down.
PROS:
*The trendy cruffin pastry has arrived in Seattle. (Now you don't need to travel to NY city, stand in long lines to try this tasty croissant - muffin hybrid.) It reminds me of a fancy pop-over, but with a more flakey texture. It is definitely worth buying one, because according to all of the recipes I have seen for the cruffin, the baking process can take several days to make and lots of attempts to master.
*Excellent pistachio croissants! (Sometimes they are over baked and hard on all of the edges. Just walk away from the pastry case if the croissants looks overly brown!)
*This is a real bakery with pastries baked on site.
*Great iced lattes.
*The bakers seem very passionate about creating quality treats.
*The bakery items above are not cheap, but they seem worth the splurge if you like finely made pastries.
CONS:
The quality has been really uneven lately. I wonder if the owners are burnt out. I hope they can work it out.
Nice, cozy cafe! Had the chai tea latte with oat milk here 😁 …
Food and coffee was okay. Pricing inconsistent, service below average. Not up to standard to what else you find in the neighborhood.
Here in Seattle there are many bakeries and coffee shops to enjoy delicious treats. I would say out of my 30 something years of living here, this is my favorite bakery. What I love most is the amazing dessert and pastries that they have including macaroons and the most delicious almonds and chocolate croissants you'll ever taste. I just know that the food is made with love and quality ingredients. The coffee is great and I really enjoyed their hemp milk lattes. Thank you so much Celine for bringing such a Gem to Phinney
Incredible assortment of pastry and amazing looking sandwiches!
Loved the buttery, flaky, and hard toffee crispness of the Kouign-Amann, everything else was just... fine. Tried the earl grey croissant, and while the earl grey custard cream was an absolute delight, the croissant itself wasn't especially buttery, flavorful, or flaky. Not sure if overall freshness or the somewhat wet custard cream was the culprit, but I'm not too interested in trying their other croissants or sweet/savory danishes in the future. Their drip coffee was also just okay. The Kouign-Amann is worth the trip if you're in the area though!
This is my favorite coffee shop in Seattle. The crew at Celine at consummate professionals in their craft and besides their excellent service, they are also the best bakery in Seattle.
I’ve had friends from all over the world come visit me in Seattle and I always recommend they check at Celine. They are never disappointed.
I used to work across the street, so I grabbed pastries here frequently. Everything is delicious. Everything. And it is a darling little bakery with super nice people. A great neighborhood place.
Okay croissant, earl grey custard was too concentrated in the center, had to eat 1/2 of the croissant to get it. Very light tea flavor almost none.
This is my go-to spot for pastries in Phinney Ridge. The coffee is good. I believe they use a classic Italian style roast and espresso machine. The shop is right in front of the Route 5 bus stop that goes straight to downtown Seattle, which is super convenient for me.
We went there for the desserts and were happy to find the wide selection. If I recall correctly, we had the vanilla mousse on a raspberry tart. It was delicious. Mousse was very smooth. Definitely recommendation. Coffee was ok
Stopped by yesterday. The coffee and pastries are good, as usual, but the more I come here the more put off I am about other things. The only bathroom was a disastrous mess, without toilet paper or paper towels. That might be acceptable for a grocery store bathroom, but not a cafe that serves drinks. Also, the staff really need to invest in some discrete fly traps, instead of waving that fly-zapper wand around in plain view of patrons eating and drinking.
This patisserie is highly reviewed for a reason. We’ve been faithful guests for nearly a year now and the most negative thing I can say is that once there was too much cream in my earl gray croissant.
Seriously, come here!
Love the coffee, and bakery goods. Nutella croissant was the hit. Alex and his wife are really friendly and bake really good pastries and make great coffee. Highly recommended.
Pastries are 8 stars, they're so good! Coffee is 1 star, not very flavorful or strong. Service is really good.
They used to wholesale at my favorite coffeeshop (Cracken, if you haven't been, do yourself a favor and go, it's worth the trek up north), but no more unfortunately. It was a great way to get their delish baked goods to a wider audience, but understand it can be hard to keep up.
Anyway, if you're near greenlake & craving the best pastries then look no further.
Best pastries and coffee in the Greenwood/Phinney corridor. The owners are a hard-working couple who love to make you happy with their delightful wares. Very friendly, comfortable patisserie. Try the speciality croissants!
Good selection of a bunch of different pastries. I got the monkey bread muffin and my wife ended up with 2 different pastries if her own. The had almond milk and oat milk for their lattes.
Staff was friendly, coffe was good, and the pastry game was next level. Don't expect ordinary donuts here though, the pastries are fancier than that. There are breakfast sandwiches too.
Look no further for some of the best croissant dough based pastries in the city. Every time I visit Celine I'm consistently impressed with their quality.
Excellent place! The pastries were delicious!
Amazing pastries - both the sweet and the savory! The breakfast ones are my FAV! The coffee is delicious but even better as a latte. Excellent customer service also. Can't get any better all around!
This is hands-down the best bakery in Seattle. And trust me I've been to almost all of them. The baker here has her lamination down pat. The owners are super friendly and the place is very beautiful inside. My only concern would be sometimes the music is too loud but everything else is amazing! You have to try the croissant Muffins with cream Patisserie and white chocolate inside. It blows away any doughnut that you've ever had. Also the kouign amann are exactly what they should be crispy on the outside and Flaky on the inside again because the baker's lamination and baking is spot-on. They serve Illy coffee and I usually don't like that kind but here it goes perfectly with all the pastries. It's my new favorite place. My jeans don't love me but I'll just have to walk there instead to burn off the extra calories.
One of the best dry capucinno I ever had! And I am very picky about it. The French bakery both savory and sweet were 5 srar. One of the best in all of Seattle. Brian my barista was very friendly and showed some tricks for his magical smooth foam that lasted all the way down to the bottom of 16 ounce cup drinking over 25 minutes. Not the froth and hot milk you get at most places.
It's rare to find excellent espresso served at the same place that has outstanding pastry. Celine has both. I was going to say "perfect pastry" for the alliteration but that would imply some kind of static standard of baking. While this is a full-fleged viennoiserie they also always offer some new delicious pastry. Sometimes Alec will revive an old treat but mostly these are innovations. The atmosphere is clean and warm and the service is unvaringly friendly.
Fresh and delicious pastries, from croissants to cookies and tarts. Variety of flavors, including sweet (hazelnut, lemon, etc) and savory (chicken sausage, basil, etc). The texture is always spot on. Light and flaky outside with soft airy inside. New flavors appear on a regular basis.
Coffee is Illy. Expertly prepared and delicately presented. Good variety of tea available as well.
The staff is always friendly. Conversations are always enlightening. Atmosphere is open, relaxing, and clean. Sit at a table and chat with your mates, or sit at the window bar and watch cars go by. There are a couple of tables outside on the patio too. Wifi works great. Parking is street. Please don't park at the bus stops.
Wonderful neighborhood pastry shop.
Excellent coffee and pastries! Cute spot!
A must-come bakery for pastry lovers! Everything still tastes good even if you don't come when they are fresh out of the oven. I just adore the service here! Friendly, kind and generous staffs!
Pistachio croissant. Not the best but pretty good
Probably my favorite place for pastry in Seattle (yes, I like it better than Sea Wolf). Perfectly executed classic pastry from croissants to kouig annan, tarts to quiche. There's even some pastry with modern twists such as the filled cruffins (keep an eye out for the hazelnut spread stuffed cruffins) and pecan croissants.
If you're visiting Seattle, this is worth going out of your way.
Delightful French patisserie. Easy to find parking in the morning. Super friendly service!
AMAZING pastries, coffee was great, staff was SO friendly
Wonderful coffee and decadent pastries. We especially like the almond croissants. But everything is great!
We are so pleased that Alexei and Daniela opened Celine Patisserie in our neighborhood! It's in the old Picnic space, handy to 8 Limbs Yoga. While our part of town is already blessed with Coyles and Rosselini, Celine is special. The croissants and pain au choc immediately take us back to France--they are perfect! We haven't tried all the desserts yet, but the walnut honey cake and the strawberry mousse were superb. Celine uses Illy coffee, which you see all over Europe. Their prices are lower than the competition and represent tremendous value. Don't miss this excellent, family-run cafe!
UPDATE 8/17 We tried the new soups last night--tomato and lentil. Both great! I'm looking forward to the quiche too. Alexei has a new chai recipe which is very nice; not overly sweet like Starbucks. I had it iced on a hot afternoon this week.
8/25 We had quiche Lorraine for lunch today--very tasty. It's good to have an alternative to Ken's Market quiche, which is good but not at the same level. Now I'm hooked on the chai too. Suggestion: consider adding kouing-aman to your pastry line; I'm sure it would be a big hit.
You guys have brought a little bit of Europe to Phinney--yay and merci!
Simply amazing croissants. I would say the best in town. The girlfriend swears by the monkey bread as well. Can’t wait to try more of their offerings.
I was expecting some divine food experience based on reviews. I tried 4 different pastries, nothing special. Prices are decent. Decor is industrial/generic, baristas are zoned out. Overrated.
We go past several very good Bakery's to get to Celine on a regular basis. The pastries, coffee, and owners make for a very pleasant trip every time.
Best croissant in the city, with a creative variety of other offerings. Fantastic fancy little tarts, savory breakfast gallettes, excellent quiche that comes with a side salad.
Just lovely. The mocha was lovely. The au pain chocolate was lovely. The chocolate tart was super tempting. The service was great. The space was lovely.
Pâtisseries were really good! The people were very welcoming. I highly recommend the berry galette and the croissant.
Nice, unprententious bakery. Great croissants and galletes. Coffee is serviceable, but the star here are the pastries. Lots of seating - good place to grab a coffee and pastry and spend an hour with friends.
Great quiche - though it was a little salty and not quite hot enough. The crust was buttery and delicious.
Literally the BEST scone I’ve ever had. I didn’t really think there could be a superior scone, because you know it’s a scone! But the dill and gruyere scone I had was unreal, the “crust” on the top And bottom of the scone was soo good, and the middle wasn’t dry and crumbly but still somehow distinctly and scone. Idk how they do it, but Run don’t walk.
I miss this pastry shop and the wonderful owners. Hope they're doing well. One day I'll come back for some kouign amann and an espresso. This is one of the best pastry shops in Seattle.
This place is a bit pricey, but great quality! I pick up a box for my coworkers & its always a hit! Celine pastries are a great go-to when all the Thanksgiving pies are sold out
Delicious authentic European style pastries with great coffee in an elegant yet relaxed environment. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Good service, nice decor, smooth coffee, and one of the better pastry shops in the area in terms of quality and value. Worth trying out their ham and cheese croissant!
Everything looks and tastes amazing! I was a little confused though since the person in front of me ordered and received a breakfast sandwich but I was told I couldnt order one- not sure exactly why...
Everytime I come I am delighted to try a new pastry. Love the atmosphere and the food. Glad I stopped in the first time. I have all my friends hooked and mad at me for their expanding waistline. Hahaha!!
Amazing ! One of the best patisseries in the US and for sure the best in Seattle! #1 Excellent croissants, great coffee and tea, amazing hosts!
Not a bad choice overall. I ordered a piece of berry cake and an almond croissant, not too sweet, soft texture, not bad for breakfast.
The best croissants I’ve had outside of France! Coffee is great and staff is very friendly. The owners are wonderful people.
Something magical happens here, particularly with the raspberry treats. The chocolate cakes really do have that Viennese texture and flavors. Yummmm!
Great small bakery, they serve Illy coffee, which is hard to find! Their croissant and breakfast bakery is really delicious, we eat with them with coffee everytime.
Croissants are flakey on the outside and moist/chewy on the inside. Awesome dirty chai!
Often new pastries and seasonal toppings to enjoy - refreshing.
Absolutely delicious pastry. A new favorite spot among some really great and growing choice in North Seattle.
The quiche was perfectly baked, the chocolate tart was rich and decadent, the coffe was superb. With excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere, I will be back often.
So so good. We had a tart, quiche, croissant sandwich, and a beautiful raspberry mascarpone pastry. All delicious. Will be back
I love that place but it was so noisy my friend and I could not talk. The radio was not so terribly loud, the people in there weren't so terribly loud. It was just the Acoustics in the room that everything was a hard surface and sounds just bounces around and it makes it noisy at least for me and if I wanted to talk and hear the person across from me.
The best pastries and the nicest people. Lovely, quiet atmosphere.
Love their almond crossant.. bit $$ but worth it
Great cafe with plenty selection of both sweet and savory bakery, also serving selection of coffee to your liking. Great ambient, friendly service, and many sitting options both indoor and outdoor.
Amazing cakes made with high quality ingredients. Their cakes are as good or better than cakes we have had in high end cake shops in Austria
The food is really amazing. Anna and Andre (owners) are fantastic and do a wonderful job. Everyone is super friendly and they have quite the selection to choose from!
Delicious hot latte plus a light and flaky cruffin, so welcoming on a blustery Seattle afternoon.
Couldn't decide what to get--so many beautiful & enticing pastries!
Superb French pâtisserie! Possibly the best in Seattle! Excellent coffee and very friendly staff. Usually little to no wait!
Perfect pate a choux and amazing flavor combinations!
Very pleasant place, nice owners, tasty pastries.
We love it here, everything has been amazing and the owners are kind and fun to talk to. Celine is a gem in Phinney Ridge. Get a cruffin, you'll be hooked.
Best patisserie in Seattle. Love all their desserts. Went there for my birthday and loved every bit of their cakes.
Delicious pastries - I recommend the goats cheese/tomato one. Had great service from Elaina :)
My favorite thing to get here is a goat cheese galette and any of their croissants! When I want to treat myself on the weekend, I usually end up at Celine!
Their pastries are divine AND their specialty coffee drinks are really-truly special. You won't be disappointed!
quiche lorraine was good. nice touch with the vegetable and oil garnish. i have eaten here 3 times and will eat here again.
Best pastries in Seattle. Owners are super friendly and remember you. Love having them in the neighborhood!
Delicious offering of freshly baked goods at the counter, good coffee. The cafe is super clean and the staff is polite and attentive.
This is my go to for good pastries and coffee. Very friendly owners putting out great baked goods, great combination!
Soooo good. Best bakery in the area. The Kouign Amann is a must try. The two running the place were very kind as well. Definitely coming back again... And again... And again.
This place is amazing for pastries! They are incredibly well made and delicious. I am sad I just found this place last week.
Celine's pastries are delicious temptations. Very hard to resist...so, just give in!
Had a great latte, a delicious savory pastry and a yummy nutella croissant! Really nice cafe
If it has goat cheese in it, it's delicious! It's out of my way, but I still get there a few times a month.
Delicious pastries, great coffee and friendly service. Celine is one of my favorites in the neighborhood
Such a wonderful addition to our neighborhood. The space is pleasant, the people are lovely and the pastries are DELICIOUS.
The parties are fresh and delicious. Have you ever had a pistachio croissant? It's delicious!
Pastries and cakes are delicious at Celine’s.
Very friendly. Excellent pastries and cakes. Lovely space and the kids licked their plates clean!
Fantastic pastries, but service can be a mixed bag on weekends when it's busy (forgotten drink order, etc.)
Souper good pastries. Try the kouign amann! Their coffee is a bit different than topical but it's not bad!
Cozy, quaint and absolutely delicious! Great music playing while able to have an engaging conversation. Perfect destination for any occasion!
Delicious food especially Nutella croissant.
Amazing pastries, for flavor and variety and great espresso. Welcoming and kind barista.
So good... Try the caramel latte and the kouign amann. Heaven!!
Friendly, pleasant atmosphere, great service and DIVINE pastry. Do yourself a favor and try the goat cheese galette.

(Translation) Greenwood Ave, just north of Seattle, has another surprise for food lovers. Celine bakery has delicious French croissants, macarons, and all kinds of desserts every Tuesday to Sunday. Celine is hosted by a young couple. They have lived in Europe for many years, so the buns they make are no different from those in France. It's hard to find Illy coffee in Seattle, and it happens that Celine only uses Illy for their latte. The entrance is fragrant and smooth. Celine is spacious and comfortable to sit on. More importantly, the price is reasonable, allowing you to enjoy the authentic French cuisine.
