A great place to meet and like other reviews have experienced, very friendly staff. There's only a few players of donuts which aren't bad, but my single chocolate marshmallow was over $6 after tax. It's not worth it. I'm glad to see shops like this open in the area, but there's not alot of variety.

Best donuts ever, and we tried all the flavors available that day. I especially loved the vanilla custard one. And love that all the fillings all made with fresh and seasonal ingredients. We got exceptional service. The baristas we're super friendly and knowledgeable. We got 3 different coffee drinks and all were made perfectly. Oh and this location in 1st St was super cute! Love the aesthetic.

I’m not a huge filled donut fan… but I do find myself coming back and back to general porpoise. The Chocolate Marshmallow is definitely my favorite, along with the recent Huckleberry Jam seasonal for August. It’s quite pricey, at 5.50 pretax per donut the last I went. but I heard the worker say that a batch takes multiple days to make, so maybe it’s worth it. Definitely reserved for special occasions or when I’m really feeling down though.

Such a lovely place. Clam hut sweet environment as you can see from the environment. When we walked there around 1:30 (just to kill time while waiting on the ferry) there’s only Berry Jam flavor left. The gentleman is so nice to serve us. It’s good on slightly sweet side and worth for $5. My two girls more enjoyed their plain ones (sold 6 for $6). Their water is great and easy to cleanup ourselves after eating.

Will definitely be back. Great freshly-made doughnuts! We chose the baci chocolate (similar to hazelnut), chocolate marshmallow, and vanilla custard filled doughnuts. The doughnut itself was light and fluffy (and surprisingly not greasy!) The filling was a light pudding-style consistency that wasn’t overly sweet. The inside was clean, spacious with plenty of seating.

When I initially tried the donuts over the years, I wasn’t a fan. It had a greasy aftertaste. However, this day it was good! They have 5 flavors each day. 3 standard and 2 specialty flavors. We liked the huckleberry best, then lemon. Chocolate and vanilla were good. Coffee was just ok. Beautiful space - surrounded by artist, Jeffry Mitchell’s famed elephants!

Unfortunately no vegan action for me but my parents loved the lemon curd and strawberry jam donuts! Hey, coffee wasn’t bad. Staff was cool and answered our questions and apologized for lack of vegan option. The decor and interior is neat and uplifting. Nice open space with available seating.

Their Chai is good and my brother said their matcha latte was exceptional as well. The cold doughnuts were a bit disappointing this time, but were still pretty good. The filling could be a tad more generous, but the flavors were decent. This location has plentiful seating and very interesting and artistic elephant lantern lights overhead!

Yummiest donuts ever and great coffee too. I also love the location. It’s in a great area to walk around in. The inside of the shop is also dazzling with the beautiful granite floors and cute and minimalistic decorations. The floating elephants on the ceiling are my favorite. 10/10 experience. It is definitely a must go to place if you’re in the area! Also kind and friendly staff especially that Jacob they have over there.

The cutest doughnut spot ever! I love this location it’s got some cute boutiques around. The doughnuts are amazing! I love love the custard filled ones. In addition they generally have grapefruit mimosas that taste delish. The atmosphere is simply cute! Love the floor tile and the chalk boards. Their customer service is also on point.

Beautiful interior and even more beautiful and tasty doughnuts! Visited while on vacation and wished I could take some back home with me! They were so good! The coffee is also great as well. The people working were a delight and talked about the types of doughnuts and the flavors. The pink interior is just so adorable. Honestly missing their lemon curd doughnut so bad. Will have to take another trip to Seattle just to come to this place! Thanks for making my vacation even better!

Visiting Seattle and had to try these amazing donuts. We tried all the flavors (vanilla, date, blood orange, lemon curd Choco) and every single one was the bomb dot com! They also have dairy free options for drinks and bangin' matcha lattes. The service is friendly and it's also a beautiful space!

The best darn doughnuts in Seattle. The sugar dusting will get in your beard (if, like me, you look like an urban lumberjack), but it's totally worth it for the subtle lemon flavors or the not-so-sweet vanilla. Also, the coffe rocks and the view is pretty.

Donuts were cold, and this was only minutes after they opened, I was the first customer there. They were very tasty donuts though. I had a salted caramel cream and some other type filled one (which I suppose is why they are kept cold) Both good in flavor and light in the belly as far as donuts go. Had an Americano which was only so-so. Espresso was too light of a roast for me.

The doughnuts here are a transcendent experience— they are in a delicate puffy sugar coated pastry, with different kinds of interesting fillings. The espresso and coffee and overall experience is also wonderful; be sure to plan on sitting for a few minutes. Like all of Renee Erickson’s restaurants the interior is very bright and airy and well put together; a great place to spend a slow morning. Beware though, they often run out of doughnuts!

I'm not much of a donut guy but General Porpoise is to hard to resist for a spoiled morning. Even my friend that does not like donuts at worked tried it and loved it. The staff is extremely friendly and the coffee is a smooth flavor, very much unlike some other burnt brands out there. If you want an amazing donut, damn fine cup of coffee, and a chill environment, swing by this must see shop.

This location is really bright and has great coffee. The staff was friendly and talked to us a bit about the coffee selections before we ordered. This location has more meeting space than the Capitol Hill location. They were out of vanilla donuts (my usual favorite), but the honey yogurt was awesome too!

great selection of regular flavors that they always have in house and a rotating selection of seasonal special flavors. really enjoy the heck out of this place. doughnuts are more pricey than your usual place but employee tips are included so it isn't that bad actually

All they do is coffee and doughnuts but they do the doughnuts very well. I brought my son here on his 18th birthday per his request. We usually go to the Capitol Hill location but tried the Pioneer Square one this time. Both are so cute! Very clean and the people who work there are very friendly. The doughnuts are fresh, soft, delicious! A special treat. Both times I had the coffee, at the Capitol Hill location, it was awful. But the doughnuts are worth a special trip!

If you want something SWEET, be sure to grab a chocolate marshmallow, whereas if you're looking for tangy grab the lemon curd. Either way these are so good they could have no filling and I would still love this place. They also have an excellent selection of coffee from roasters all over the US.

Looking for coffee in the area of the train station led us here. The Pioneer area of Seattle being what it is, an area transitioning from homeless drug addicted mental illness blight to gentrified hipster cool smugness, this seemed a good close choice. The coffee was good. The pastries were exceptional! The huckleberry doughnut was awesome and the talent of the baker was obvious. That was a decadent indulgence. And the price reflected that. But that’s Seattle. The place leaves me with one word: confused. General Porpoise with an orca on the logo. French bistro coffee donut shop with a blue hair counter barista (blue dyed not old age blue hair; it’s Seattle so smug avant-garde cool is a must). And then the lighting fixtures of elephants told me that confused was what this place was. Not many other choices in the area for train travelers so 3 stars.
