Reviews of Fuji Bakery-Elliott/Interbay
Amazing bakery! I really recommend that you try the Crunchy Cream Malasada donnut! It was completely delicious! I also ordered the ham and cheese croissant, one blueberry tart and one chocolate croissant! All of them were fresh and delicious. Service was great and this bakery has parking so you don'thave to worry if you want to bring your car to this place!
The staff very friendly and their pastries are amazing! I just wish I was able to try more of their options, but I will definitely return to try their sandwiches and some other savory options. We got their Ube and Matcha Malasada, Apple Pie Croissant, Custard Bread, Soufflé Cheesecake, Fruit Tart, and two oat milk matcha lattes. We ate everything throughout the day and the next desert was better than the last. Highly recommend for a quick sweet treat!
I went around 11 a.m. and I could live without waiting.
There were many delicious breads.
There were breads that were so delicious because of the cream, and there were breads that were not my taste.
But most of the bread was delicious.
If I visit next time, I want to try macarons.
Very cute spot with many pastry options.
Ube malasada - warmed it up before eating, it’s very soft, right amount of sweet and creamy.
Ham & cheese croissant - a very dense croissant, need to warm it up to make it good.
The location is a bit weird...kind of in the middle of no where and I made a stop during my bus ride just to come try it out. I'm not a big fan of Asian sweets so I tried their butter croissants. I'm not really impressed but it's not bad either. Price is fair and service was fast and friendly so I can give it a pass. I guess it's more known for its Asian bakeries.
Not a great location, a homeless encampment was being removed nearby in the day we visited. Bistro seating out front, but the road noise is so bad that it isn't exactly pleasant. The almond croissant was tasty, but the sugar donuts were just ok.
Travelled all the way from Bellevue to try the “Kare-Pan”, their signature beef curry bread but left with a “Katsu-Sando” and an assortment of pastries, including the Pear Croissant, Apple Pie Croissant, Azuki Malasada, Lilikoi Malasada and Cannele. The Kare-Pan was nice and chewy with a crispy panko outer shell and a rich, mild curry filling. The pear croissant with house made custard and brûlée Tahitian vanilla marinated pears was refined and delectable. The Azuki Malasada had a distinct red bean filling but it was little too coarse for my liking (prefer Koshian). The Lilikoi Malasada was light and soft with a passion fruit filling that was tart and intensely flavourful. The Cannele had a nice, moist custardy interior with a coating that had a nice sheen but could have been crispier. The Katsu-Sando was delicious, still nice and crunchy several hours later. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this artisan bakery for their French pastries and Japanese staples such as curry bread and Katsu-Sando.
Incredible pastries, croissants, doughnuts and so much more! My wife was super pleased to see the gluten free options. Staff was top notch!
Excellent carbs here all around! The ham and cheese croissant freshly toasted is divine, the ube malasada (after being reheated) was a fluffy creamy dream, and the yuzu tart the perfect blend of tart and sweet. Definitely wanna try the s'mores croissant, passion fruit raspberry tart, other malasadas and more savory choices next time :)
Loved cannole, pear Danish, cheese Danish, and butter croissant. Pear Danish is very flaky with abundance of juicy, slightly sweet pear pieces - if you bite into it, flaky outside shatters into buttery pieces and the sweet juice from pear melts those flakes. Drooling just thinking about it.
Cheese Danish are for those who likes cream cheese. There is a large cube in the center which is very dense cream cheese. Buttery croissant is very well made as well.
Didn't really like the curry bun or the crunchy bun. The crunchy bun was too dense and curry was too strong and salty for me.
Fuji Bakery is such a gem. The wide variety of baked goods in the window are all stunning. The curry buns are always utter perfection and it’s unlike anything else I’ve ever had. The friendly staff is frequently prepping while doing counter work, which I think is super cool.
If you need some baked goods in your life, you owe it to yourself to swing by Fuji Bakery!
Solid bakery, nice little stop in between meals or to bring home for some munchies. Their malasadas were a little bit denser than what I expected, I wanted them to be lighter/fluffier. But still great flavor.
They have a fantastic selection of pastries here, sweet and savory. I had the azuki bean paste filled donut, blackberry croissant, and almond croissant. I especially liked the blackberry croissant. I'm looking forward to trying more items here. The staff was very helpful in providing suggestions.
The visit was good. The people were great. The croissants are good. One thing to look into is adding syrup to it. Or putting it on your menu to be able to buy little dunkers of syrup. It is delicious
We LOVE this bakery, so it was the obvious choice for the dessert at a birthday party! We ordered 30+ malasadas and they were a hit!! Everyone loved them & wanted to know where they were from - super fresh and delicious. Thanks for being the star of the party!!
Amazing food. Beef curry puffs are amazing. Literally everything is great.
One nitpick -
Coffee was kinda meh, but it is not a coffee place, so can't be too harsh. Americano was too hot. I burnt the roof of my mouth, so maybe next time have slightly less hot coffee.
Really good pastries. I always buy a bunch of malasadas before holidays to have a awesome breakfast over the days off.
Get there early, afternoons may not have the donuts in stock.
Delicious baked goods available here. But items are also very limited. They open early so go in early otherwise a lot of things get sold out. The bakery is located in a very awkward spot, there is not much parking available. But the baked goods are delicious and worth the trouble. The staff is also very friendly.
So delicious! The ube malasadas are my favorite.
Sriracha Chicken Sando. Matcha and Ube Malasada. That's it. That's the review.
I am usually not a big fan of danishes since most bakeries make something that’s soggy under the filling and minimally flaky all around. But the blueberry with lemon curd danish at Fuji was perfect- flaky, and really nicely balanced sweet/tart flavors.
Everything we got was excellent. Tons of pastry options and some sandwiches.
Amazing gem of a bakery! I decided to pick out my own birthday cake this year and was happy I got it from Fuji bakery. We got their holiday Japanese Strawberry shortcake and it was both gorgeous and delicious! Very light and doesn’t make you feel sick after eating it like other super sugary cakes.
We also grabbed the ube masalada, beef curry kare-pan, and chicken katsu sandwich. Also amazing! My husband and I wished we got like ten more of the beef curry kare-pan it was so good!! Crunchy, savory, delicious! Can’t wait to go back!
I love this place! I had the best ever ham and cheese croissants ♥️ they also have sweet and salt good pastries . I highly recommend 👌 …
Made famous by the Cunchy Cream Donut, a Malasada raised by in-house cultivated Yeast that’s stuffed with Pastry Cream and coated in Frosted Flakes, Fuji Bakery was Seattle’s first Japanese Bakery and it remains excellent today thanks to timeless technique plus good Ingredients.
A little more expensive than other Asian Bakeries with most items commanding $4-$6, Thanksgiving-Eve found the main location bustling as pre-orders paired with last minute choices such as gooey Pecan Pie with an all Butter Crust and more Nuts than filler.
Nine items for $50, a Beef Curry Bun and one filled with Red Bean Paste equally impressive as Crunchy Cream, Viennoiseries show well with expert lamination whether traditional in the form of an Almond Croissant or vertically stacked with Bacon and Maple Syrup.
Part of the scene since 2009, another location further South, Caneles fared a little overcooked in terms of Shell and Custard while basic Banana Bread got lost in the wake of a split S'mores Croissant that surprisingly tasted even better than it looked.
I bought several things from here, but all I've had thus far was the egg salad sando and curry pan, and I'm smitten. Also, super excited to finally find a mont blanc in the US, the last time I had one was in Japan, though the one pictured got a little warped on the trip home. I'm really looking forward to trying the rest of my treats and am already planning to drag my boyfriend here on a day out for picnic snacks. There's coffee, too, and a wide array of different delicious breads! The kind fella who helped me out recommended the focaccia so I'll have to check that out in the future!
This place such a cute little non pretentious cafe. Their food is really good and their bakery items are top notch. It does lean on expensive side but worth every penny.
Great bakery for pastries. Wish they had a full menu online so I can know what to order before hand. Line is pretty tight.
Had the ube, plain (no filling), crunchy and matcha malasadas. My favourites were the ube and matcha - the cream filling was sooo good!!
Crunchy malasada was a bit dry and the donut itself could have been softer in all of the malasadas.
Would 10/10 come back to try their cakes and tarts :)
Fuji Bakery offers a unique variety of Japanese, French fusion pastry and dessert. Not your everyday American pastry. The pastry is made in high quality. inI highly recommend this bakery.
Friendly staff. Good selection of sweet and salty pastries and breaf. The crunchy cream donut was simply delightful, the cream was light and I love the combine texture of silky cream with the crunchy shell. The curry bun has a nice chew to it along with favorable filling. Can't wait to return to try other bake goods.
Amazing pastries. The egg sandwich and katsu chicken sandwich were both fantastic. A definite must go
It was ok. The beef curry bun was mostly air, not much filling. The ube malasada also has very little filling.
The ube and passionfruit donuts were delicious, as was the cruffin! Will definitely be back to try other pastries, they all look beautifully made. No lines on a weekday, so glad we live nearby.
The most delicious bread ever! Try the cream cheese danish. It’s so wonderful.
If you like savory the beef curry pastry is perfect.:)
Super kind service.
This bakery was a wonderful find! My daughter enjoyed the red bean donut, I got the chocolate mousse and my husband got the savory bacon bread bites. All three were absolutely delicious 🤤. …
Soo good , I recommend the creme crunch benines, milk cheesecake, and passion fruit custard or whatever it’s called and the turkey sandwich to try the bread out. I had a little high tea at my house after buying these items and it was cute.
I have been here many times, but am always to excited to remember to take pictures or even write a review. The pastries, baked goods, and sandwiches are worth going out of your way to get some. Heck even the malasadas alone warrant going there. They are easily the best in the state.
Just go and thank me later.
Delicious pastries, the bacon cheese loaf is amazing! A little pricey, but then again it's Seattle!
This place is delicious! Focacia bread is so good! They don't carry it at the international district location. The bakery is at this location so it's the freshest you can get!
More french (croissants, macarons, tarts) than Japanese (milk bread, azuki bread, egg salad sando), but everything we had was delicious! I would have liked to try one of everything!
Excellent pastries. Not too sweet, very flaky, and taste great! Parking is challenging, best to arrive from the south and back into the lot.
Their Japanese strawberry shortcake is heavenly! Stop by the day before to order your cake. They offer a few different sizes. The largest one makes a great birthday cake. So creamy and light. Highly recommend.
They have a good selection of bakery and not sweet at all. Their drinks are very basic but I do recommend their bakeries.
NOTHING COMPARES to the deliciousness of this bakery. EVERYTHING TASTES AMAZING. My only complaint, it’s impossible to get chocolate chip cookies. They simply don’t bake enough, and they’re in high demand. I make like 3 calls a week. This seems solvable, yet the struggle continues, hehe. Other favorites of mine include their croissants which are made to perfection. I’ve been to France several times, and this bakery is better than any French pastry I’ve ever had (and that’s saying a lot). The Beef curry ball is magical, savory and unlike anything you’ve ever tried. Also a fan of the cream cheese danish, the macaroons, and vanilla cream puffs… Basically, don’t come here. I want it all to myself!!!! THE BEST BAKERY IN SEATTLE!
Tried 5 differnt croissants. All good and very tasty. But on the day i visited, there were not much variety.
Ube Malasada: Incredible 5/5
Beef Curry: Delicious 5/5
Chicken Katsu Sandwich: Solid 4/5
Coworker brought these gems in & as a non native visiting, options were amazing & sooo fresh & tasty! Apple & mochi below 🙂 …
Very good Japanese style bakery. The curry buns are insane and the matcha coffee is delicious. Definitely give them a try, may want to get there early before the curry buns are gone!
Super spendy for the product, dog can’t go in, just to pick up even- and taste of treats is ok. Just ok
Everything I’ve tried here amazes me! All their croissants, beef curry ball, bread braids, cakes. Can’t go wrong here. Highly recommend!
This is a bakery, not a doughnut shop. If you’re expecting Fuji-Kreme, you will be disappointed. If you’re looking for inspired dough-based bliss, you can’t do any better than this wonderful place. DO stop in.
I've been the appointed driver to this spot a few times and waited outside in the "parking lot" lol but never went in. Today I walked into this warm, sweet almondy smelling little enclave with neon signs and neo urban soul music. And pastries. I ordered a lemon tart, a mont chocolate ganache (sp?) and a jalapeño cheese baguette. It was almost closing time but the blue-eyed boy behind the counter still had time to chat about a Tribe Called Quest's 'Love Movement' album and Sinead O'Connor's little known reggae songs found on YouTube (WELL WORTH THE SEARCH) The bakery items were very good and I was reminded how much I like my neighborhood.
Awesome! Spectacular! Everything is good. Filled malasada: fluffy, and the filling is so creamy. We tried ube and lilikoi, both were excellent. The cream puff was stuffed full of thick cream. Curry bun is crisp on the outside, yet the bread is chewy and airy. Katsu sandwich was crunchy in a good way.
Amazing variety of delicious pastries. We enjoyed a sampling of malasadas. So yummy.
Friendly staff with lots of selection. We ordered curry beef, cream puff, egg salad sandwich and Katsu sandwich. The curry beef and Katsu are great. The refrigerator temperature might be set too low, the egg salad has icy frozen pieces, which was a bit disappointed. We might try again for different pastries.
Great selections of pastries and cakes. I love their shokupan, Japanese style bread!
The staff's nice and friendly:)
Tried the creme filled baguette and my favorite the blueberry tart. Very yummy! My girlfriend loved the cream filled puff pastry as well.
Sooooooo good. My friend and I are absolutely addicted. Is there a 12 step program for the s’mores croissant yet? 😆 …
Holy cow is this stuff good! Sweet had several pastries an a macchiato. All were outstanding, and the service was super friendly and fast.
The combination of legit french pastries and what seem to be more Japanese inspired/influenced pastries is incredible. I can see why they're so popular. We were in a bit before 10 on a weekday and they still had a full selection, but the rush showed up just as we were leaving.
This place was an unexpected find for me during my stay in Seattle. The pastries were fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. I will go back when I am back in the area.
We had the "Crunchy Cream" which is a crispy fluffy bread filled with vanilla cream inside. It was recommended by the host as being popular. It was fantastic. Very delicious. Crunchy and crispy outer shell, fluffy and light bread in the middle, and appropriately sweet vanilla cream inside.
Will definitely go again to try out other items.
Tried the Lilikai Malasada on the second visit. I personally didn't like it much because of its sour taste from the passion fruit.
They have a large variety of selection. They also offer online preorder and curbside pickup. Their chicken katsu sandwich and egg sandwich are both really good, the toast outside is soft and the fillings have the right texture and were really fresh. The curry puff tasted really good too, with a good curry flavor; the bun is fried though so expect it to be a bit more oily versus normal bread.
Absolutely delicious! Went in with the intent to get the Japanese souffle cheesecake and forgot once I looked at everything else. Ended up getting the crunchy cream and ube masalda. I could keep eating the crunchy creams forever. Also got a green tea white chocolate cookie that was perfect. The light green tea taste with the white chocolate surprised me with how amazing it was. I did look back and see the cheesecake right before the end. Which was all I was hoping for. A fluffy cheesecake that melted in my mouth. Will be going back often!
Really great bakery with tons of delicious choices!
I went there for the butter croissants which I used to get at Stumptown on 12th before it closed, but I discovered many more delicious treats. The Japanese bread is almost perfect for my modified-for-the-PNW Turkish food quirks. The olive stick is really fun. The fruit tart had a strong presence. (Imagine food being like a rock star on stage.)
But the best thing was the chocolate mousse. For more than 30 years, I've been looking for chocolate mousse like I used to eat at this little place in Nişantaşı when I was a teenager. It was so fluffy and light that it was like chocolate-flavored air bubbles. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I loved it, and the one I got at Fuji Bakery was like that, like you could just breathe it in.
The croissant with all European butter was excellent. They have half loaves of milk bread. Great toasted w/raspberry jam. 4 mini sugar donuts, not so great.
A true hidden gem in the Queen Anne/Interurban area. The pastries are among the best I've ever had and the location is understated, but cute.
Everything vis great. Today was a Malasadas Day
Everything here is really tasty and pastries are fresh. It seems that they get a good amount of business!
They have various filled donuts, with ube, vanilla, or passion fruit custards. They've got Japanese cheesecake, shokupan (light milk bread), various other Japanese baked foods.
Some pastries are better value than others, but all of them are delicious.
I like their egg salad sandwich, which is like the ones you get in Japanese 7/11 or Family marts. Costs $5 though. But that just shows you how great Japanese 7/11 & FM are.
Hands down my favorite bakery in Seattle. They have such a great selection of pastries and treats. Their malasadas and curry croquettes are AMAZING. You have to go. GO NOW! :)
I've been here a handful of times and everything is always perfert. Lots of attention to detail with every item.
The Crunchy Cream and Ube Malasada are my two favorite donuts from here. Both are elegant and smooth in their filling - not too sweet or heavy. The Katsu Sando is great if you're looking for something a little more hearty. The mayo and Katsu sauce give it a refreshingly sweet taste.
Great assortment of pastries. Liked their bread pudding bun, the filled donuts and croissants. Was slightly disappointed with the macaroons. It was very buttery and the salted butter overpowered the taste of the coconut. This place is also slightly pricy ($10 for the cup of macaroon) and the prices aren’t displayed for the pastries.
The pastries are delicious and fresh! The donuts are filled super well, and the croissant is also flaky. The staff are friendly, and our dog was allowed inside as long as he didn’t jump up!
Definitely will be visiting again!
The pastries are lite, tasty, and there is a wide variety. Also, the transaction time for the display items is typically very fast. The bakers (to the right) are very nice and helpful. They seemed to have made a rapid adjustment to the current pandemic. This was a good location, I am glad they have managed the graffiti. Though I do not like the color, I understand the starkness of it, draws attention from passer bys.
I would suggest:
1. Educate the clerks on updates to the website, store/kiosk locations, and how to have a discussion WHILE serving the customers.
2. Make sure the clerks do not cross-contaminate surfaces when picking up items, the cycle should be (sanitize hands, leave pincers in cleaning non-toxic cleaning solution between grabs, put item(s) in bag(s), give to customer, THEN manage the touch screen THAT has been sanitized) -- make sure the Credit Card Hub faces OUTWARD, and clean it between customer waves.
Stopped by Fuji Bakery for a treat; such a delightful selection, both savory and sweet! Our take-home box included a cream-puff filled with creme patisserie, a lemon tart, a cronut and a dozen macarons. Cannot wait to dig in!
This is my absolute favorite bakery in Seattle and maybe of my whole lifetime. Every treat and savory option is masterfully crafted and intentional. Never had their coffee though but will in the near future!
I stumbled upon it on a long walk along the water. My partner and I were exploring so we decided to check this place out and boy am I glad we did!!!
I immediately knew we found a gem because people starting forming a line as soon as we walked in (guess we beat a rush a bit) and when everything else in deserted in the area, this speaks loudly.
Got the Ube donut, crunchy custard donut, almond croissant, and a slice of fruit cake. Everything was delicious. I was impressed by the amount of filling in the donuts - they do not skimp!! Every bite was delicious and full of sweet flavors. The ube - wow, I kept expectations low because I haven't had luck with other places but this definitely hit the spot. It was light and sweet and you can definitely taste the ube flavor. The Almond Croissant had a glazed crunchy exterior and a soft almondy interior which is exactly what you'd want in an almond croissant.
I'm so happy I found this place! You know a place is good when they can close at 3 PM every day and still stay in business during a pandemic. I will definitely be back. It's a few miles walk from my apartment but I will use these sweet treats as motivation to get me there!
Wide selection, considering the store space, of various pastries and bakery items. I ordered the cheese pastry and peach croissant -- the flour portions were not too thick (good for chewing) and the sugary portions were well-balanced. Pricing is fair for the portions sold. They have made effort to manage the business through this COVID period with social distancing standing squares and the food handlers make great effort to make sure minimal contact is made before the hand off. Also, the day I went the store clerks and bakers were very polite. Pleasant experience overall -- am rooting for them to do well.
Everything here is amazing! French pastries with a Japanese influence. Matcha and Ube, croissants & gruyère! C’est magnifique! The tender simplicity of the pear croissant is life. It is perfection.
Sure, the pastries are top-notch but so are the sandwiches!
Good bakery, although it stands out in a neighborhood devoid of any other decent cafes/bakeries. They're also often sold out of their best goods by late morning, so it would be nice if they could have a few extra batches for the afternoon crowds. Service is mostly good and friendly, especially the baristas, although I have felt rushed a few times by the person handling the pastries.
The holiday individually packed cupcakes (decorated with a Christmas tree or Santa hat) were a hit we shared with our friends during Christmas. The cupcakes were delicious and the meringue Santa hat was a yummy surprise. The customer service was excellent. My kid was very happy delivering cupcakes to his friends, it make his birthday special. Thank you for that.
Custom ordered a Chocolate Birthday cake and it was amazing!! Frosting was cloud like and unbelievable too! Made all the difference for a birthday with a few allergies and not a lot of time left to source a cake! They had it ready next day and couldn’t have made things easier. We LOVE the daily baked goods in the sweet and savory case too and are regulars there.
I totally understand why the beef curry bun is so popular. It is delicious. I regretted not buying 10 of them. It is super deep fried, keep in mind. It took me aback at first, I guess I was expecting soft bread. And it is soft beneath, but with a deep fried crunchy exterior. And I loved it. Crunchy cream bun (yes, I was expecting crunch there) also great. Ham and cheese pocket got good reviews from my buddy. Nice to find a couple unique offerings.
this place makes some of the best baked goods I've ever had in my life. As a former chef, restaurant owner, and world traveler, I can say this without doubt. If you want some amazing pastries, croissants, donuts, whatever they make I promise you will be happy with it. You definitely owe it to yourself to try their beef curry buns.
My wife and I love this bakery! We order all our special occasion cakes and pastries through them. They might seem a bit pricey but given the quality it falls right in line. Online ordering could use a facelift but in shop service is top notch.
Uggghhhh so good! Fuji is the best bakery in Seattle, hands down. Everything I’ve eaten there has been absolutely amazing. Perfectly baked and decadent. It’s hard to choose only a couple items because I want to try everything! And the staff is super nice. I highly recommend!
Every choice is a good one. Ask the staff what's their favorite if you want to try something new.
Ube malasada doughnut blew my mind. So tasty but not cloyingly sweet. The purple custard has a texture somewhere between Boston cream and royal icing, but not gritty at all, super smooth, velvety.
Absolutely top tier and a great stop on the morning commute! Highly recommend the ube malasadas, the raspberry-lemon croissants, and the egg sando. Coffee has a deliciously chocolatey flavor - prepare to get seriously addicted to Fuji!
I was driving around one day and noticed Fuji Bakery kind of randomly on the side of the road. I've heard many good things about Fuji Bakery and figured the best time to try was when I was driving and randomly stumbled upon it. Parking is a bit tight so please be patient and be careful! The pastries themselves are amazing! The ube malasada and the crunchy cream were amazing! Definitely reminded me of Hawaii and brought back good memories. I really want to try their savory items but that will be another day. If you ever are just driving and see this on the side of the road, stop what you are doing and enjoy some goodies!
Soo good! I can't believe I've gone so long without coming here. Our top tier favorites are the curry buns, the crunchy cream donut and the ube malasada. I've gotten their katsu sando and it was pretty good, but I think their strengths are clearly in their pastry. They do sell out over the course of the day so I recommend placing an order online early. Excited to try the rest of their treats!
Consistently great food. You can tell by the long lines. Staff is always friendly and accommodating of your needs. Don't ever hesitate to ask if they have something even if it's not on display as they can usually tell you how soon it will become available. Parking can be tight, so be aware when making travel plans.
Ordered a cake for the first time for a birthday. The strawberry shortcake wasn't as fluffy as most shortcake I've had and a little too sweet for me. Im sure it'd be delicious for others that loves sweet, like my husband!
An absolute gem for the daily commute. Feast your eyes on the delicate french-style Japanese fusion pastries from chocolate croissants, cream filled doughnuts, eclairs. My payday splurge was the freshly made sriracha chicken sandwich - absolutely delicious!
Call me crazy but these malasadas are better than any I've had in Hawaii.
Delicious. Picked up a wide variety of tasty treats. Really easy to order online and quick to pick up.
My favorite was definitely the egg salad sandwich, reminds me of the ones I had in Japan 😋
Oh My Goodness! This gourmet bakery will surprise and delight you. They offer such a variety of pastry creations that you have to see it to comprehend. our latest discovery was a green tea-hazelnut custard with red bean paste. Just wonderful. We have also had soup and sandwiches there, delicious. We only know the on on the west side of Queen Anne, but there is one in the International district as well.
Every time I drive on Elliott, I want to stop at this bakery. The pastries are simply amazing. You really cannot go wrong with any choices from the pastry case, but my favorites are the crispy malasada and the raspberry danish.
Great bakery and even nicer staff. I’ve been coming here for years. Try the Christmas cake around the holidays.
Such a cute cafe with tasty pastries on Elliot Ave. I crossed the street to go to Starbucks initially and then I decided to try Fuji Bakery. Was worth it!!
amazing pastries, great fresh ingredients, high quality, baked to perfection. fresh fruit in tarts, perfect sweetness in creams and fillings, I've been to Fuji bakery a dozen times and nearly every time, except once, I order their "almond stick" and it was rock hard. not sure if that's what they intended or not, but everything else I have order at Fuji has been excellent. it is amazing bakery and prices are incredibly low/cheap, best bakery I've found in seattle so far!
Love this place and the selection. They have so many interesting baked goods, sweet and savory. Plus, malasadas that are pretty legit! We come here every few weeks when we have a weekend errand downtown.
one of Seattle's gems! the egg salad sandwiches and crunchy cream puffs on my favorite but you can't go wrong with anything.
the house spread makes better toast than anything I've tried.
Wonderful place for bakery items. Wanted to try their katsu sando but they ran out so go early if you want those. However, did get the egg salad sando and malasadas as well as their milk bread, and those were wonderful as well. Great place for coffee and bakes!
Their malasadas are amazing, and the sandos are tasty AF!!!! Try their egg salad w. a touch of cherry pepper relish, it's heaven!!
Excellent baked goods, macaron, and tarts selection. Got their apple pie croissant, chocolate croissant, and malasada (sugar-coated donut) and they were all excellent. Friendly staff as well!
Broad variety of pastries. Very friendly service and certainly delicious pastries.
Wow. Great baked goods and sandwiches and espresso drinks!
One if the best bakeries in Seattle, hands down. Most bakeries slather on the sugar or trick you with color and popular toppings; Fuji prides itself in the quality and texture of their bread in all baked goods. Let me say that another way: Fuji Bakery has the best pastry bread in Seattle. It's light. It fluffy. It's flavorful. It's not heavy in oil. It's a pleasure even long after baking/purchase. This is my favorite bakery.
My go-to place for cakes because I love how the Japanese don’t make things as sweet and sugary as Americans!! Also, there’s Asian flavors like taro and matcha, and everything just seems dainty, delicate, and light. I knocked 1 star because this location has limited hours and closes too early.
Must try bakery, their malasada and other flavored puffs are perfect balance of sweet and doughiness. Last but not least, their Curry pastry is a must have to truly appreciate the meaning of a savory treat!
Original and well executed pastry. A must try in Seattle.
Really neat little bakery with a huge selection of sweet and savoury Japanese/ Asian breaded snacks. Great quality food. Prices are really cheap for what you get! You can spend as low as $3 for lunch. Also has some limited seating for dining in.
Best assortment of pastries in Seattle! Visiting Fuji Bakery is a treat, take a single look at their display case and you'll want everything they have to offer. I use their croissants as my measuring stick for all others, and the rest of their offerings are truly special. I always enjoy seeing what new items they're cooking up - last time it was a matcha cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid!)
Good, but not amazing. Malasada (unfilled), giant chocolate chip cookie, cream puff. Cookie was huge, and plenty of chips. Cream puff was filled with about 8oz of pudding, not my fave. Cappucwas was good.
The employees are fantastic the food is amazing. I've never had a bad item here. The croissants are as close to a real bakery in France as it gets! Outstanding A++
We've been to their International District and Interbay (15th Avenue) locations. Easy to park at Interbay store. Fantastic pastries, donuts is almost too humble a word, but then again, who doesn't like donuts. Our favorites are the malasada filled with yam custard (ube) and crunchy creme (creme filled with corn flakes on outside). Also enjoyed the azuki and the pear croissant. I do want to try everything....very interesting looking tiramisu and other dessert cups.
Great pastries, coffee, and service! Highly recommend. The Ube malasada was delicious as well as the olive stick! Definitely hoping to come back soon and try the sando’s
My friends stopped here to get yummy bakery items when I fell asleep in the back seat. They said it was great, but I'll never know because I still haven't tried there bakery stuff. I need new friends. 😢 …
I've tried pretty much every bakery that claims to be French in Seattle area. Le Reve of Queen Anne, Le Panier in Pike Place, Celine in Greenwood, Petite Pierre of Magnolia, Besalu in Ballard, etc. Fuji has few items that stand out. Almond croissant and cream cheese pastry to be specific. Other Japanese style pastries are pretty bad. I had them much better in Japan. The biggest problem is that they have been recently overbaking their pastries. They should try adding salt to give more flavor than overbaking.
The ube donut was out of this world! Very impressed as this was my first time checking it out. I usually opt for Petit Pierre, I live in Magnolia, but looks like I may be venturing over the bridge for some more Fuji sometime soon.
Great, original flavored flaky croissant with 10% French butter. Variety of other sweet and savory croissants such as banana nutella chocolate and BBQ pork. Tasty milk stick and melon bread. A lot of pastries and desserts to choose from.
This unassuming chicken katsu sandwich in the deli cooler is easily the best thing I've eaten on my entire Seattle trip. Especially for the price: $7.50 after tax!
Nevermind the gorgeous pastries and delectable desserts behind the counter; no doubt they are with their own merits--but this sandwich is in its own starred league.
Minding its own business among the other sandwiches in the cooler, this katsu sandwich has more character than the cavalcade of patrons on the Route 2 Bus line. Its texture is (surprisingly!) delightfully crunchy, moist, tender, chewy but nuanced by being easy to bite into and not being stringy. The thick slab of chicken katsu is very tasty and accompanies well with the spiced sauce and crisp iceberg lettuce, and the sandwich is constructed in a way that makes it not a soggy mess. The bread it is served on of course is the special in house bread--soft, buttery, and velvety smooth. Absolutely worth the carbs.
I could go on, but I'll be succinct: this carefully crafted sandwich is not only incredibly tasty, but deeply satisfying. It's one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever eaten. While I'm here, I'm getting another one.
Easy access, great prices, no pets(for those with canine family members), and sandwiches too!
Love this place so much! They always have a beautiful display of assorted items and I adore their Asian twist on things. Service is friendly & the pastries are divine.
They have Amazing pastries!! The Ham & Cheese and the Almond Croissants were So Good! The Ube Malasada was really good as well. I be back to try more stuff 😆 …
I live on the other side of Washington state. Every time I come to Seattle I eat at Fuji Bakery. They have an amazing assortment of pastries the likes of which I have never seen elsewhere. I love the Japanese infusion in many of their dishes. It's a delitful eating experience that has pure Seattle flavor. The savery and the sweet options are so varied and tasty. There is something here for everyone. Be sure to get there in the morning so you have the best pick of the options. If you are visiting Seattle this is a must eat stop.
You gotta try the Beef Curry & the Ubae bakery. So so good. Savery & Sweet. Can't go wrong with Fuji Bakery
Great hidden gem. This is the bakery for their primary retail location in the International District.
This is it, this is the real deal. Not only are their baked goods fantastic, their service is great as well. Seriously, their croissants and donuts are top notch, better than any other I've had in Seattle.
I hate to tell anyone about this place, for fear of it becoming popular, busy, or the prices going up. BUT, best sugar donuts in Seattle. All kinds of delicious pastries. Inexpensive Stumptown drip coffee. Nice employees. Try the milk stick or the almond stick.
The Crunchy Creme donut is hands down the best thing I have eaten throughout my entire pregnancy. Just writing that makes me want to go pick one up right now!
HOLY SMOKES AMAZING. The crunchy custard donut was the best donut I've ever ever had. So buttery and light and mmmmm. Screw Krispy creme and screw voodoo donuts. Fuji has them easily beat.
Good selection, helpful staff, and pretty good prices. Unless I count when they're out of mustard bacon epis or milk sticks, I can't think of a time I've had a bad experience here!
Big assortment of baked goods, quick service, and everything tasted great! They've got flavors and pastries that you don't really see at most bakeries.
We tried the Apple Pie croissant, blueberry and lemon curd croissant, and multiple malasadas! Be sure to add the Ube flavored one to your order!
Frenchie here, and I can say this bakery is legitimately excellent. Got some really well made croissants and pains au chocolat. I would love to see them make French bread with the same quality in the future - I think this is the only missing piece for me to show up every morning at their door.
Great little bakery! They typically sell out of their most popular pastries by noon so if you want to see the best of what they have, come early!
Some things I'd recommend: peanut butter and jelly donut, chocolate crossiant, beef curry puff, and the Popeye crossiant.
I'm also a big fan of their lunch special. Any entre plus a pastry gets you a free drink. I've only ever gotten the sandwiches (the bread is great) but tried a number of pastries and it's always been under $10
Delicious Malasadas! Better than Leonard's Bakery Honolulu. Lived here forever and had never gone in.
Great interesting takes on standard bakery fare and unusual Japanese delights. Great savory appetizer options for parties - but pre-order or get there early. Serving lunches to go also.
Absolutely delicious. I particularly loved the Azuki (red bean filled) donut!!
Everything here is so good. I could live off the almond croissant. The service is always very friendly, and it's a quick stop from Kinnear Park or the waterfront. Try the dango and azuki donatsu! The milk stick is a fun version of cream pan, but that almond croissant...it's just so delightful.
Hint: if you have trouble getting through the door, wave your hand closer to the automatic door sensor! It doesn't always register.
Wonderful pastries, as the name suggests with a Japanese twist. The salmon brioche and the grapefruit tarts are great, but you won't go wrong with anything.
No frills establishment but they serve Stumptown coffee and super unique and delicious treats! Never had anything I didn't like from Fuji! I also like their lunch deal: if you buy a lunch entree and pastry, you get a free drink which includes coffee, San pellegrino, water, etc.
Hidden gem. Amazing tiramisu and baked goods. Try the macarons the apple gummy is my favorite
Absolutely incredible custard filled donut. I think it might have had corn flakes on the outside for crunch? Would absolutely return next time I'm in the area.
Two words: Matcha Cruffin.
It may not look like much from the outside, but i was seriously blown away by the selection of pastries they offer, and the cozy bakery vibes inside. I drive by almost daily, and now i know I’ll be driving by temptation each time :)
Sooooo good! Highly recommend the egg salad sandwich. The crunchy malasada was delicious. Great service too.
What a fun place to stop at tucked down by the waterside. Parking is possible and the choices are good -- unless you are trying to avoid sugar and flour. We grabbed a snack and sat at the table inside. Oh -- and you are in charge as you warm your own food. Seemed to have a steady business mid-morning on Friday.
Excellent baked goods from savory to sweet.
The baguette, the onion roll, beef ball!, Pork katsu sandwich, crunchy pudding ball, ... Everything we delicious and priced ok.
They did an amazing job making my friend a tiramisu cake for his birthday. Such a beautiful cake and so tasty!
You guys need to make bigger sandwiches and lower the price and all of us construction workers would come there more often not sure how you haven't figured this out Expedia is right across the street and there's a few thousand hungry men there every day! The veggie focaccia bread is the best thing there.
Great Franco-Japanese bakery. Try everything, especially the red bean paste donut. This location is bigger and has more items than the one in the International District.
Good prices. Large variety of pastries. Good baking. The display could be improved to allow each pastry to shine. The service could improved: I felt rushed.
Delicious Japanese pastries. The bean buns are especially good.
This bakery is absolutely amazing. You need to get in there and enjoy their fantastic creations.
This is my favorite bakery. The beef curry bun is mind blowing. I can’t help but order several of their pastries every time I visit, they’re beautiful and delicious.
I deliver Amazon packages here and finally bought a few pastry and macaroons. Now...it's my favorite delivery address! Yum!
Located on a very busy road, the only downside is accessing the location. Otherwise the baked goods are excellent and the service warm and friendly.
Omg I had the best donut of my entire life here...i recommend the creme filled one with cornflakes on top cuz it's out of this world
They have awesome baked goods. There are lots of donuts, breads, and pastries. They also have teas, cakes, and coffee. My personal favorite is their red bean filled sugar donuts.
Two words: CRUNCHY DOUGHNUT! you can thank me later. I can't decide wether it's the delicate creamy filling or outside crunchiness I enjoy more. Have tried other things that are also delicious but we always leave with the OG DOUGHNUT 🤤 …
Amazing spot with great treats. The milk bread is so good I can no longer eat regular white bread. Nothing compares
Great pastry that are not expensive. They combined Japanese flavor into French pastry and it was a wonderful mix. The bakery is right behind the counter.
Ube masalada is one of the best pastries I've ever had. More western options than I'd hoped for, I wish there were more Asian options
Customer service was excellent, variety of items was great. Prices affordable. I had the tiramisu it was rich as nd creamy with great flavor.
A bit out of the way for a lot of folks, but worth the effort. Excellent cannele, great Opera cake, good latte. Nice place to stop along the way if walking in Myrtle Edwards.
Awesome bakery with a mix of French classics and pastries with a Japanese twist. Gotta have a crunchy cream donut and beef curry bun!
Love this place, always fresh pastry and friendly people. My favorites are almond croissant and curry pan 😊 …
Good treats. Sandwiches could use a little help.
Pastry is very good. Cakes are more jelly and whip cream filling than sponge cake. I like to see improvement.
Pastries are so good. Beautiful cakes. Off the beaten path but not too far. Open at 7:00 am.
Sandwiches are delicious and I think the donuts are the best in the city. I can’t wait to try more of the menu!
The pastries are tasty. Just a bit pricey and they don’t show price tags.
Great Bakery on Elliot Ave the Ube Cream Puffs and Coconut Macaroons are to die for
The crunchy cream and the pear croissant/danish were incredible!! Will definitely be back.
Cakes were decent.
I was a bit disappointed I couldn’t try their an pan. However they had a curry bread I liked.
Awesome malasadas! The parking was a little scary for me because I’m not used to backing out into the street
Very good pain au chocolat
The 'pig on the cloud' sausage roll is delicious, but I have to warn you that you may end up with some fairly unpleasant smelling burps. If you're not going on a date later on, go for it!
The pastries, sandwiches etc. are unique and so delicious! The fresh brewed coffee is excellent too. A very friendly staff.
Always make sure you have them double and triple check your order but otherwise best donuts in town
Passionfruit donut was really good! Same with the curry beef one.
The best kept secret in Seattle. A great selection of French pastries. Have never had anything less than amazing.
Great fresh baked product daily reasonable prices. Side parking as well as street.
I tired greentea of everything! i tried NANA BAKERY and here.
I want to give 3 rating. because of the quality of bread. it is really hard and not so good.
Their heavily perfume scented hand sanitizer gave me an all-day migraine and ruined the flavor of the donut.
Always love coming here, the employees are all so nice and helpful with recommendations. The donuts are bomb!
Grabbed some pastries and cakes on the way home!!
Try the beef curry balls, crunchy creams, sugar-dusted brioche, veggie foccacia, and others. You can't really go wrong at this place.
Just the best pastries and a lot of variety. Try the Adzuki doughnuts which are filled with red bean paste and the milk sticks 😋 …
Drove by everyday on my way to work. This is a place with all the sweet and savory treats you want. Try them all.
Beef balls and milk sticks are a must
Sat there by myself eating and trying all kinds of different pastries. Definitely worth the trip. The Canbelles are absolutely out of this world
By far the best butter croissants I've ever had!
Good service. Extremely good pastries. Worth a wait in the line.
A hidden gem on crowded 15th Ave. Great pastries. Told the staff they need to change the sign and make the sign as awesome as the pastry. :)
Great pastries, love the variety. Love the Canneles, Malasadas, Beef Curry buns, cow on a cloud (hotdog buns).
Best doughnut, crunchy cream, I have ever eaten. Can hardly wait to go back!!!
Not worth it. I wouldn't pay $4 for low quality malasadas.
Best bakery in Seattle best bread and pastries around Seattle a must try in Seattle best croissants around
Most shelves were empty unfortunately.
Cute bakery with a variety of desserts from French to scandinavian to japanese. Friendly helpful staff. Would return!
I love everything about this place. My favorites are the Azuki buns, beef curry buns, chicken and pork katsu sandwiches, and the bacon and pumpkin quice. Yum.
AMAZING pastries! I’ve been wanting to go for 7 years and finally got around to going.
That lady in there was so nice to us even though we were so dirty from getting off work.
Fuji is forever! Best bakery I can remember. Now if they only made bagels :-)
So much better than the one in the ID. Better selection of pastries, better flavor, better service. Make yourself a favor and just skip the other one
The people working there are really friendly and the Green Tea Lemonade was delicious!
Great variety of baked goods, nicely displayed. And Matthew was very helpful and provided great customer service!
