Reviews of Bakery Nouveau

A friend recommended me this bakery. We went on a cold November morning on a weekend. There is no designated parking lot, so we had to rely on street parking. This place looked like it’s just take out, didn’t see any seating inside.
Coming to the bakery items, they had a lot of variety!! I was super impressed. I got a classic chocolate croissant which was yum!!
The staff is super nice too, they helped me pick the bakery items.
I highly recommend this place 😀

Amazing bakery, wish they had seating to enjoy the pastries and coffee. Hard to choose from the selection. Tried chocolate croissant and chocolate mousse cheesecake. The croissant was not a traditional one but super delicious.

Great experience coming here for the first time! I was hesitant about customer service based on many reviews here, but the employee who helped me was really nice. I visited on a Friday morning so it was not crowded either. I tried the regular Chocolate croissant, Twice Baked almond croissant, and Apricot Danish.
The regular Chocolate croissant was SOOO good!! Very flaky and just the right amount of sweet, plus delicious chocolate inside. Many flaky layers but also soft! It was perfect and my favorite of the three.
The Twice Baked Almond croissant was pretty good but I think I like traditional almond croissants better. This felt more like a condensed or squished almond croissant. It was a little too sweet with all the toppings and sugar on top, I would rather just taste more almond paste filling but that's probably a personal preference.
The apricot croissant was big, kinda heavy, and okay overall. It felt kind of regular like most other fruit danishes.
Most pastries seem to cost about $5 each. I recommend everyone try if curious! I would go back to try new things next time.

Absolutely delicious treats!!! Stopped by this gem during our vacation in Seattle and easily spent $50 because it was so hard to choose just one or two things. The croissants were flaky and baked to perfection (especially the blueberry filled one). Customer service was good. I highly recommend visiting this bakery when in Seattle.

Nice local bakery for savory and sweet baked goods. Love their croissants and their seasonal raspberry mousse cake (summer). Their whole cakes are also very nice for a celebration and are a good value for the quality.
Sarah Herrmann
Finally! An almond croissant that holds its own in Seattle! I’m sure the not-so-secret ingredient is butter but I don’t care because it’s banging. The coffee also reminded me of Europe (stronger than one tends to get in the USA) and it paired perfectly.
Service with a smile too!

Good almond croissant. Not the best I’ve ever had, but that best I’ve had in the city of Seattle so far. My one “issue” is that the bottom is usually a bit soggy from the simple syrup despite the double baking.
EDIT March 5th: was waiting in line, had made it to the front by the registers and still hadn’t been helped, so I asked a seemingly idle employee if I could get a chocolate almond croissant and then she told me matter of factly that there was a lineup and asked me to move to the back? Presumably she has not seen me 5 minutes prior. So I had to explain that I was in the bakery before the other people in the lineup. Then she got me an almond croissant and if I hadnt checked what she put in the bag I would have left without chocolate almond which is what I asked for. Having worked 3 service jobs before I understand that working with customer service can be tiring so I do try to be empathetic and accommodating but unfortunately from my perception the interaction was a bit rude and left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Perhaps a suggestion to the bakery could be to have a clearer queue and lineup system? I am not sure. Sorry for the rant 😩

I will only review their macarons that I bought on the way home from Kobuta lunch. They were good but I prefer the ones with the white filling than the chocolate. But that's just me 😁 …
Paola Figueredo
A favorite of ours! Pastries are sublime, sandwiches are delicious and cakes have no words. Parking is limited (busy area) customer service is great 💖 …

Just my personal experience :The twice-baked croissant is too dry and too sweet. I was disappointed that I didn't get the aroma of almonds at all. The macaron filling is heavy and sticky. As for the strawberry mousse cake, it also does not have the aroma of strawberries and pistachios(too sweet), and the mousse is not delicate enough. I had high expectations for this store, but I was a little disappointed this time. I believe that the next time I try croissants and savory bread, it will be a better experience. :)

Tons of different baked goods. I really enjoyed the cream cheese danish. I plan on going back in the future to try more of what they have to offer.

Continued my search for the best Kouign Amann in Seattle before flying back to Vancouver tonight. Bakery Nouveau was my next stop after dropping by Rossellini’s in Ballard. Yes, I drove all the way from Bellevue to Ballard and then to Capital Hill. Picked up an Italian Roll with cured meats, provolone, tomato slices, pepperoncinis, and vinaigrette dressed arugula on an Italian roll, a butter croissant and a Kouign Amann. The Kouign Amann was heavenly; it was golden with a very airy, buttery puff pastry interior, and a crispy but not overly caramelized exterior. There were delicate stands of sugary syrup laced throughout the airy layers of pastry. It was no doubt one of the best Kouign Amann I’ve ever had. The Kouign Amann from Bakery Nouveau and Rossellini’s are both exceptional, each with their own subtle differences. Try them both and let me know which one you like better!

This is a amazing bakery! We tried the danish and almond croissant here and it was delicious. There was a line outside the bakery on a Sunday morning - so a lot of people show up here. We also got their chocolate cake for a birthday which was amazing too - it was just very dense and heavy.
Overall I think they have good baked stuff and I would recommend this place.

Bakery Nouveau is a big bakery that offers a nice variety of baked goods: breads, croissants, danishes, sandwiches, cakes. I went for the basic butter croissant, which doesn't look great but actually tastes better.
I found some of their other pastries a bit over the top like the twice baked croissant coated with tons of sugar, or the savory croissants that look nothing like a croissant. Service was helpful but a bit condescending.
Overall, this is not my type of bakery but I definitely see why some people love it.
Update: I went to the West Seattle location one day and it immediately won me back. Better croissant and better service. It turns out that is the original location. I'm not surprised.
Joselyn Murguia
I loved this place! You know a place has delicious food when there’s a line out the door. Even though there was a line, the staff was professional, courteous and fast!
I ordered the BLT sandwich, and it was definitely the best BLT I’ve ever had! The bacon is perfectly thick, crunchy and flavorful. The Brie cheese is a very high quality one that compliments the sandwich perfectly. The bread is soft and crunchy. I recommend this one.
I also tried their Twice Baked Almond Croissant, and it was delicious 😋 My favorite croissants are almond croissants, but this just stepped it up a notch. Recommend!
Will definitely be back!
kinc
Their almond croissant is the best. And i love their hamcheese too.
Lani Jodlowski
Best bakery, hands down! Worth driving an hour for. Their twice baked croissants are amazing, just make sure you go early or they will sell out. This is my go to place for all the birthday cakes needed. Their sandwiches are great too!
Sarah Alexander
Twice Baked Croissants are a must try. 😍 It is a delicious dessert that you probably need to share with one other. They also serve great coffee, baked goodies, many chilled desserts and some baguettes. …

Delicious mornings with their pastries and bread. Filled our Sunday brunch with lots of baked good from Bakery Nouveau. Though they do other ahead, walk-ins are still welcome! (Would recommend ordering 48hours ahead so that you don't miss on their baked goodness!)
Pleasantly surprised by their olive bread loaf, perfect amount of savory flavor with fennel and other spices. Goes so well with eggs!
Spinach Croissant was super flaky ahhh and filling was delicious. Definitely felt inspired by Spanakopita with crispy croissant goodness.
Almond Croissant, really enjoyed the almond butter filling tho wasn't a HUGE fan of the excessive amount of powdered sugar on top.
Kyle Dahl
Overall: A great place to stop and grab a few sweet treats.
The good: I came late in the afternoon so a lot of the items were picked over, but the german chocolate cake helped ease my midday munchies. The slice was packed with chocolate, coconut, and creams, and paired perfectly with my coffee. It wasn't dry at all, even though I bought it around 3PM. It was also quite large and could've easily been split for two. Service was friendly and there would've been a ton of options to choose from if I arrived earlier in the day.
The not-so-good: Expensive. A (hearty) slice of cake and iced coffee ran me about $12.
Food/drink: 8/10
Atmosphere: N/A
Service: 8/10
Elizabeth S. Q. Goodman
I worried because some other reviews mentioned poor customer service, but I value efficiency over friendliness, and they score high there! Got through quite a line in just a few minutes. I don't recommend their challah, but the croissants and quiche are wonderful.
Sandra “Sandy” Walker
It's a bakery that sells all gluten free pastries and breads. Terrific food.
Roshni Patel
Our favorite in Seattle! Recently moved from Chicago and was in search for good flaky buttery croissant. Favorite is twice baker almond croissant! Friends, family, visitors favorite. Butter croissant is good too.
Albert Yeh
I don't know about you. But I will never live in a major city where I can't get a croissant that is just near perfection.
Croissants are in the perfect food group. everything about it is perfect.
I just moved to seattle, and I finally found a perfect croissant at nouveau.
It just requires a professional grade sheeter to make layers upon layers of butter layered in flour. make it fresh. don't overcharge. (it was $3.50 today which is quite reasonable).
I would buy a croissant every day of my life if i lived across from them.
Y Wong
Had a coffee, blueberry ginger scone, ham and cheese pastry and double baked chocolate croissant. Everything was good! Quick and friendly service, sufficient places to sit in the morning. Definitely one of the best bakeries in Seattle!
Jacob Bonzo
Super friendly staff and the most amazing baked goods. Also was not expecting to get a legitimately great slice of pizza. Coffee was delicious, and the service was fast.
Darrell
All I can say is WOW. They really perfected the craft of their pastries and baked goods.
This is possibly the one of the few bakeries in US that has amazed me and taken me straight to Paris after my trip there.
The blueberry/lemon croissant and the pear danish - fantastic. Fluffy, crunchy, delicious!
The macarons - sweet with unique flavors, but not overwhelmingly so.
The traditional croissant - flakey, buttery, and filling.
The only thing that was a miss was the BLT baguette sandwich. The baguette was quite tough.
Service was ok. We felt pretty rushed and the way they handled COVID lines wasn't the best (ex - they should have allowed customers to start at the beginning of the bakery pane and walk down towards the cash register, so it's easy for customers to see which pastries they wanted).
Nevertheless, the pastries were delicious and we are definitely coming back!
Update - chocolate croissant was just OK (not enough chocolate) and the twice baked almond croissant was alright. I have had better croissants. Either way, the blueberry/lemon croissant and danishes were THE BOMB.
Christine
Absolutely DIVINE. I was visiting for a few days and this bakery was on the top of my list. I have a huge sweet tooth so I had to try the twice baked almond croissant and chocolate croissant. Both were delicious but I preferred the almond, especially because there wasn't much chocolate in the croissant anyway. The croissants are large, dense, and so indulgent. It took me a good few days to polish them off on my own. The crazy part is how crispy the croissant remained after 3 days - talk about all that buttah. The only thing i'd change is the excessive amount of powdered sugar on the top. I had to rub a lot of it off. Regardless, this place deserves all the hype and that's coming from someone who is very picky about her baked goods! My only regret is not purchasing more to bring back home.
Yvonne
Came here for some chocolate cake and coffee. My husband liked the coffee and you can get free refills here. I had the chocolate cake and found it on the dry side. I thought it was just the edges which were exposed to air and hence dry but the cake was dry overall even at the center. Usually the cake part is what I like best and I don't care for the chocolate mousse. I definitely found the chocolate mousse to be better than the cake portion of the slice. Really wished I had gotten the chocolate mousse cake instead. Perhaps give that a try next time. My husbands cheesecake was pretty good creamy and rich. The service was amazing everyone is supper energetic and friendly and there is a continuous line. I would have wanted to give it more stars because the staff were so amazing and service is so quick but the chocolate cake was just underwhelming
J. B.
Almond crossant and BLT shown in photos. First time trying their sandwiches, and it was filling, tasty, & made with love.
My usual is the almond crossant. A must have! Flavorful and buttery. Grade A! 5★s! Great customer service and friendly staff.
Nancy Forero
Everything. Here. Is. Delicious.
My hips can confirm that. Try the coffee cake, the peach croissant, the raspberry one, the cookies. I still have not tried the bread.
Andrea Locatelli
Great place for pastries and coffee. The apple caramel tart was just mind blowing! Don't miss this place if you are in the area
Kristina Hays
The best almond croissant in Seattle! We had to drive through snow all the way from Queen Anne to get it! And trust me it is worth it!
Clara Baggett
One of the very best bakeries I’ve been to. All of the pastries/ sandwiches are made from scratch and the workers are all very friendly. The pastries taste even BETTER than they look, which is saying something! I highly recommend the Twice baked chocolate croissant and the Junction croissant.
Sarah Eversole
We got the chocolate croissant, brunch pizza and quiche Lorraine. Each were fantastic. Super fast service as well. Very happy!
Alvin Tran
I've gotten two items here: the Twice Baked Almond Croissant (seems to be everyone's favorite here), and the Kouign Amann. The croissant was super; crispy/flaky on the outside, and just the right amount of buttery/creamy/soft on the inside. It's probably the best I've had so far. Meanwhile, the Kouign Amann had very similar traits to other croissants I've I liked, like the crispy outside and creamy/buttery inside. Overall, I really liked the two pastries I got here!
The service was decent. One oddity was that when I went to pay, the person serving me really didn't want me to use Samsung Pay (note: Samsung Pay uses MST, so it can work with old credit card devices). The person gave me a long explanation about how a previous customer took down their payment systems with Apple Pay, so they couldn't accept it anymore. This explanation made absolutely no sense to me. It's a minor quirk, and most folks can pay with credit card anyway, so not a bid deal, I guess.
One aspect that I didn't like was that the store had a sign saying that they could not guarantee that the nuts in the store wouldn't be cross contaminated with the rest of the food. I guess it's cool that they are upfront about it, but their reasoning for the cross-contamination was that "they were a small shop." This was a lousy reason to me, since I've seen other small shops put in more effort to prevent similar cross-contamination. Basically, this means my friend with peanut allergies can't come here to try the Almond Croissant (which shouldn't have peanuts) because Bakery Nouveau was too lazy to not cross-contaminate.
Regardless, the pastries here were incredibly good! It seems popular enough that there's a notable line, though not as crazy as something you'd see at Pike Place Market shops (maybe a 5 minute wait). I'd definitely recommend you check this place out.

We had a good experience at Bakery Nouveau. They have a large variety to choose from: delicious pastries, macarons, and sandwiches, in addition to coffee and other drinks.
We went with the Twice Baked Croissant, a cinnamon scone, and one of their breakfast sandwiches. Though I thought that the cinnamon scone was somewhat boring, the twice baked croissant more than made up for it. It's like a crispier, gooier version of a croissant, and I'm all for it.
The one negative is that--because it is so small--Bakery Nouveau can get crowded fast. By the time we left at around 10am on Saturday, the line stretched through the entire bakery and it was difficult to find seats. Be prepared to order to-go if necessary.
Sunny Ajmera
Wanted to visit this bakery from long time and finally get to come here today, the place is quite busy but thanks to fast service, the line moves pretty fast. Tried pesto prouschtto 🥪 and it was so so good, the praline dream 🥧 was also good though a bit too chocolaty for me. Almost everyone suggested trying out twice baked croissant but it's hard for me to resist blueberry scone , so rain checked on it this time. The coffee ☕ here is standard, they use blue beard coffee beans. Definitely coming back to indulge in more savory and sweet baked delicacies.
Andrew Hunt
After sampling the fare at dozens of Seattle area bakeries, Bakery Nouveau is the only place I will ever buy a croissant anymore.
Their twice baked almond and chocolate croissants make everything else taste like shame and sadness by comparison.
They are by far the best croissants this side of the Atlantic, and quite possibly the far side as well.
Jory Allen
The chocolates are magnificent. We ended up with a dozen or so and each one was perfect. Yum.
I got a butternut squash pastry with pumpkin seeds, thinking it would be savory and it was sweet. Absolutely delicious.
Pizza was phenomenal, loved the crust.
inga carmack
We didn’t realize there was more than one of these great bakeries until recently. This one on 15th in Seattle is equally friendly and rather crowded but definitely worth any inconvenience. The pastries are always delectible, the chocolates are luscious and the breads and lunch items are always good. We love this place even though we think the prices are no bargain. Quality costs, I guess.
Isabel
Enjoyed the ham and swiss sandwich. Quality food 😋 Stopped in after my appointment at the Kaiser clinic for a to-go brekkie, friendly staff and seems like a nice neighborhood cafe/bakery. Lots of families gathering …
Laura Alexandra
Service was good and I really like the chocolate bread!
Joyful
Nice! Yummy baked goods, friendly service. The Cheesecake with seasonal fruit topping is very good! Quiche is pretty yummy too! They've got a great selection of chocolates, macaroons, and cookies, although I haven't as of yet tried any of them, they look pretty delicious!
Great Cap Hill location, some parking spots right on the side. Place is pretty small as for seating.
understanding israel
Excellent everything. The only place that makes/ the German chocolate cake like mom did from scratch!
V MC
Sweet smells of bread pulls you into the bakery from the street! Good selection of sweet and savory pastries, and coffee was good too!
Brittani Wilson
Ohh my heck this place!!! They are very efficient and I was impressed. I got the smoked salmon, cream cheese croissant and it was freaking bomb. It seems most people get them to go. We sat and enjoyed... Very yum. Highly recommended and will come back!
Karina Villalta
I've been coming to this bakery for a while but I finally tried their pizza and wow, I'm hooked! It was perfectly crunchy and doughy and cheesy! They had such great flavor combinations! I also just live their twice baked croissants and macarons! Check them out you will not be disappointed!
aliyah a
I picked up breakfast for family while on Capitol Hill yesterday. The customer service was really good, the croissants excellent as usual, the cinnamon rolls are soft with a touch of sweetness not sticky sweet and overloaded with frosting like most places. I don't eat ham or bacon but my daughter says the Junction croissants are really good. Eggs, bacon, ham and cheese on their delicious croissants. The espresso was perfect. The flavor was spot on without any bitterness. Now let's get to the bad part...the two pieces of veggie breakfast pizza (photo). Eggs cheese tomatoes kale (?) cheese on I believe focaccia. Salty and soggy on the top hard on the bottom. Really good size and looked super hardy so I figured we'd cut them in half and it would still be more than enough. That would've been true were they edible. The second piece is still in refrigerator the other is in compost. Anyone else notice you rarely receive a response to a complaint in your review? It's like too bad so sad we still have your money....
Patrick Conlan
Inventive, hard working and masterful bakers. The twice baked croissant is a must have but everything is good here. Great coffee as well (in a neighborhood with lots of choice) so get with the program and live a nouveau life!
Mary Carney
Bakery nouveau is a neighborhood gem. Their baked goods are of high quality. They have good mainstay pastries, but I'm always very excited about the rotating options. They sell individual chocolates, along with delicious perfect macaroons. Around lunchtime, they put out sandwiches on baguettes, and all of those are good too. I usually take my goodies to go, but they have about 4 to 5 tables to sit and enjoy your treats. Grab a coffee to go with your pastry, you won't regret it.
Sam Duggan
I ordered the twice-baked chocolate croissant. The interior of the croissant was dense and cakey, and the outside was rock hard. The syrup coating was overly sugary for my tastes. Wasn't super satisfying, but perhaps just not my style of pastry?
Nathan Christopher
Had a wholesome visit in this bakery. Staff were really nice to give me macarons on the house. People here are very passionate and helpful!
Caitlin Conley
Amazing pastries! Expect a bit of a short line on the weekends, but it’s worth a few extra minutes to wait for these goodies.
Hailey Oppelt
This is, for me, the best bakery in town. Their twice-baked almond croissants are one of the best things I have ever had, and I am, for better or worse, very picky about baked goods. They often have a line out the door for a good reason.
Ido Ohad
Everything here looks amazing. Went to pick up an apple strudel for a friend, this thing is gigantic and delicious. This was my first time here but definitely coming back and worth the drive from NE Seattle.
sorankin
Wow, this place is exceptional!!! Glad I don't live much closer to it...I'd weigh about 200 extra pounds!
Master Maggie Li
*Open for to-go only Nov. 2020 - there will most likely be a line outside the door but it goes by quickly*
Bakery Nouveau never disappoints! Everything is good, cakes, breads, etc. My go-to are the Twice Baked Chocolate Crossiant, perfect with a cup of coffee for breakfast.
Lindsey Green
We are new to Seattle and heard that we needed to go here. For my birthday we went and I was so excited to see the many offerings to pick out for my birthday dessert. I chose the limoncello blueberry mouse cake and it was delightful. Not too heavy or overly sweet but super flavorful and well-balanced. The perfect spring/summer dessert. I also picked up a delicious baguette that was HUGE and only a few dollars. Only shortcoming was that it was difficult to find any relatively close handicapped parking (I have a disabled child in a wheelchair) and any normal parking spot for that matter. We had to park a few blocks away.
Sue Daniels
Five stars for the fantastic sandwiches and pastries. The limited seating is a problem, but even so the five stars stand.
Abbie
This place is awesome. The pastries are delicate and lovely. The pear pastry was the star and a revelation. Biggest issue was mediocre coffee and our quiche was heated inconsistently. That being said, I loved every bite.
Onaroon Pureemahawong
Their bakery have high quality. Chocolate Almond croissants is my fav.
Amy
I love everything about this location. Try the twice baked chocolate crossaint!!! (And the seasonal pumpkin pie is the best pumpkin pie I've ever had, anywhere)
Riley Forrest
We traveled to France about a year ago. This is the first place that measures up since then. Croissants were fantastic. Macarons were a bit rich but still quite good.
Jeannie Nieman
Anytime I'm on Capitol Hill I have to stop here. I don't care if it's an app killer and a Diet Crusher. This place rocks. I've had everything from Pizza, coffee, bread, sandwiches, to the wonderful twice baked croissant.
BaoPhac Do
I was pleasantly surprised by this buttery and crusty fish shaped croissant. It's filled with smoked salmon and cream cheese. I will seek out this brand next time I am in Seattle.
JaysonBroker NW
My favorite bakery. Try the Carrot Cake or the Cinnamon Roll. Both are so great!
Chad Skiver
Great desserts, amazing pastries, delicious bread. The staff is super fast and friendly and always goes out of their way to help people.
viswaratha reddy
Twice /Double baked almond and chocolate croissants are the best.
G C
Great ham quiche and the kringle was delicious. This place is extremely popular during weekend so you have to be lucky to find seat.
Ana M
Wonderful pastries! Great quality. Highly recommend them.
Sean Rettig
Frustrating payment system. They still ask you to sign physical receipts, which is just annoying and really slows the line down. Good pastries (I am also a fan of the twice-baked almost croissant), but the bad customer experience sours it for me.
Andrew Stephenson
This is the best croissant outside of France. I'm very picky about the texture and quality of a croissant. I lived in France. I've been baking since I was a boy. I've baked homemade croissants myself. Bakery Nouveau is one of the few places in Seattle where I'll buy a croissant. How about all the other items they bake? Doesn't matter... the croissant is the test, and they pass the test... everything else must taste amazing (and it does!!!).
Fiona Garrett
Came here for a friday treat for myself and oh my god some of the best chocolate cake I've had in awhile. My only issue was there not being enough seating but otherwise great little bakery!
Soumeya B.
Hands down the best almond chocolate croissant o have ever had. None of that fake almond flavoring, pure flaky decadence.
Esther Du
We got a variety of pastries here, I really enjoyed the croissants and twice baked almond croissants! Thought the ham and cheese one was too oily.
Dawn McCord Ruedebusch
I have never been disappointed by any pastry or bread I've had here. Particularly fond of the raspberry goodies they make in peak season. Bakery Nouveau does a nice job of rotating through seasonal items so there's something new to try every time you're in. It can be quite busy so I don't make a habit of stopping in if I don't have the time to wait in line, but it's a place full of great smells and a good way to slow down and enjoy a treat in a cool part of the city.
Prateek Sharma
Had the popular double baked almond croissant. It was pretty good. Crunchy, toasty, fluffy, delicious. It was great, but not stellar or out-of-the-world in case you might have too high of expectations. Great to have if you're in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.
Lindsey Ungar
Literally the best pastries I've ever had in any city around the world.
Rik Schutte
I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say this is the best bakery on the hill. Quite possibly in Seattle. There isn't a single thing they make that's not worth it. If you're a fan of quiche, make sure you try theirs. The goat cheese & mushroom is my personal favorite. Deeply decadent, and perfectly textured.
Madison Beyer
I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always so good. The almond croissant is my favorite and the caprese sandwich is so delicious. Great service and coffee makes this the perfect spot.
Laura Krahel
As someone who grew up Polish, I was looking for pączki to buy for Fat Tuesday in Seattle. I'm so glad I stumbled upon an article mentioning Bakery Nouveau and made it to their pop-up this morning. This will definitely become an annual tradition!
Chris Cacciapaglia
Fantastic bakery, great service, good prices, decent enough coffee. The olive loaf is incredible, I’ve gotten about 7 at this point and they never disappoint!
Jordan Langan
This place has THE BEST croissants, and I’ve tried hundreds. It’s my go-to order. They also got me with the smoked chicken. It looked too good to pass up. There’s bound to be a line (that’s how you know it’s good!) but it moves quickly!
Sandy Solis
Bakery Nouveau never disappoints! I've been stopping by for several years when I'm in Seattle and everything I've had from there is amazing! Great veggie pizza, their breads are excellent and their twice baked croissants are a taste of heaven. Get there early in day if you want the twice baked croissants because they may not have them later in the day.
Phil Simon
Judging by the line every morning, it is no secret this is an amazing bakery. The line moves fast and has been well worth the wait every time I’ve been back. They also switch up the pasties frequently so you will not get bored. My only wish is that they had more vegetarian-friendly sandwiches.. so they’re better for breakfast if you don’t eat meat!
Side note: Get a bag of bagels to go while you are there, they’re delicious.
Jean Pocket
Me and everybody else, we agree: it's worth it, come here.
Highlights: their plain croissants, dry cappuccinos, olive fougasse, baguette sandwiches, quiches, and -- bien sur -- their classic chocolate croissant.
Katie Greer
Could not be happier with our experience. The twice baked almond croissant and the junction croissant were everything and more than we imagined. The almond was almost cake like in the middle. We’ve never had anything like it. The junction was delightfully buttery, savory heaven.
Ting-Yu Lin
You can't go wrong with Bakery Nouveau. Everything is so tasty! They are famous for their chocolate croissants and almond croissants. I love their quiche too but it always runs out so maybe you have to go earlier . I went around 2pm and it was all gone.
Jill Papaleo
Absolutely amazing costumer service. I bought a gift card for my sister who loves this bakery and there was a small glitch with delivery (no big deal, I get things happen) I reached out and spoke with a Matthew who went above and beyond to get the gift card delivered. Not only do they have amazing baked goods but have lovely affable employees! Highly recommend, life is too short not to buy the pastry!
Mitchel Johnson
Really good pastries and sandwiches. Filling and delicious. The breakfast biscuit is filling and the biscuit is perfect. The staff is always very nice and helpful. My only complaint is that their coffee is mediocre at best. Watery and weak, I'd recommend getting food to go and stopping somewhere else for coffee. But the sandwiches and pastries keep me coming back. If you are coming on a weekend you will see a line, don't get discouraged because the line moves quick.
Avocado Black
Recently bought the chocolate cake for my roommate's birthday. It was soooo amazing! There is a very elegant balance of the bitterness of high quality chocolate and brown (?) sugar and it taste perfect for me. the decoration and presentation of the cake looks fantastic. The chocolate mousse is so silky and smooth and flavorful. I can say confidently that everyone there loved it.We finished the whole 8-inch cake. The staff here are very nice also. I've tasted their twice-baked almond croissant and it tastes amazing. New to Seattle but this is for sure one of the best bakeries!
Christopher Collins
Friendly service and super fast given the high volume of customers. The twice baked croissant is really delicious and they make unique sandwiches and carefully prepared lattes. My only complaint is when they warmed my sandwich they didn’t really do it long enough so it was still cold in the middle. Be warned - it’s crowded on weekend mornings and it can feel a bit stressful to order with a big line behind you and so many choices. Very little seating available, and the park across the street is not very nice to sit and enjoy your purchase.
Connie Lee
Long line, I recommend just get pastries because the coffee is why the line is so long. Baked goods is as good as usual. There were several pieces of small garbage on the ground that none of the staff noticed until I pointed it out. They did act on it but makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the central kitchen. Also makes me wonder when was the last time the county went and inspected this place.
Arvind Arikatla
Very good bakery. Twice baked almond croissant was amazing!

One of the best bakeries in the city, imo! I love their cake slices and everything is so beautiful.
I just don't go here too often because there's a huge homeless encampment right in front of it.
Kathryn Martini
Hands down the best bakery in Seattle. French style and award winning. We had their cakes at our wedding and baguette and croissant sandwiches at our Sunday brunch. Today we got a german chocolate cake to celebrate. It's perfect, not too sweet.
Cortny Rector
Tasty croissants and coffee. Some people wrote the sweets are too sweet but i’m not sure what that means 😉 Try the honey latte. I prefer macarons with a creamy center, these are a sticky gel-not a fan. No where to sit but there is a park next door with a few benches, long line on a Sunday but it moved at a decent pace …

We’ve ordered cakes and cookies from this location, and have always been pleased. Recently, I ordered the chocolate cake and a dozen cookies for my husband’s birthday. Friends picked up the goods, but they were not given the cookies. A simple oversight. I called immediately. They did the right thing, and refunded me for the forgotten cookies. They were VERY sorry, and kind about the process too. I believe I spoke to Moises. Nice guy. The next day I received a voicemail from Matthew, bakery manager. He was also very apologetic. He said they’d be sending me a gift card, so not necessary. I was planning on returning anyway, but because of they’re kindness and willingness to make things right, I’m a total loyal customer. Great product! Great business! Great people!
Audrey Flores
It's just the most amazing flaky goodness! I love coming here and sitting down with a croissant or tart. I just wish I could come more often, but I think my jeans would not fit me. The service is always nice and helpful. The sandwiches are divine and hearty. It's a nice place to sit and have some pastries with a friend. So excited that I don't have to go all the way to their West Seattle store
Kate
Oh how I wish I had a photo of the double-baked chocolate croissant I devoured from this place. It was the perfect texture and so extremely delicious! I’ve already told people that they have to visit and plan to go back, often, myself!
As a side note, I own Chatterbox Gifts and was sent there to purchase a gift card for one of my clients. The machine to load the gift cards was down and the manager figured out a way around that! He gave me an empty card and then went above and beyond by going to their West Seattle location to load one so it would be waiting for her on Capital Hill when she comes in. Thank you so much for your excellent customer service. We are both very happy!
Kenji
The cheesecake I ordered was excellent. The only issue I had was that I couldn’t get a chocolate crust on the traditional cheesecake when the website made it sound like I could since it says, “ A cool and creamy classic, baked on either a graham crust base or chocolate crumb.” it made it sound like the customer had the option.

Came in hungry and cranky, left fat and happy :) The spinach and ricotta quiche was creamy, mild and delicious. Service was professional and friendly. The people working here seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. The price was reasonable and the serving size is enough to satisfy.
Having better signage would improve things. Another customer pointed out to me where the prices were on some things, but I still had to ask what things were and how much.
All in all positive, if I am in the neighborhood I'll stop back in.

Bakery Nouveau is good. I felt a bit like a traitor, heading here on a Saturday morning, due to my allegiance to La Parisienne in my neighborhood. Yet, I gotta try something new once in a great while.
Located in Capitol Hill, the epicenter for everything in Seattle it seems, I waited in a long line of hungry patrons. The people waiting in said line represented the primary demographic of the city of Seattle; young, wealthy, educated, and very taken with themselves. It was a homogeneous group, dressed alike, even with masks on. Seattle has a definitive uniform. A couple cut in front of me, oblivious to my existence. I was about to say something, but held back. Why start an issue on a beautiful July day? This couple isn’t going to change. Their wonderment with themselves started at a young age, reinforced by parents who only praised and rewarded. The people who risked demonstrating for equality a few weeks ago were not in this line.
Everything at Nouveau tasted very good; the baguette, the layer cakes, and the cookies were delicious. Staff were coolly efficient, not used to schmoozing. I was just a weird, old guy. Nouveau Bakery is very west coast. The camaraderie of the east coast totally absent. In fact, any European engagement was also vacant. Nouveau was very dot com. I wanted soul. I got very good bakery products. It isn’t my kind of joint. However, it may be yours.

First time here I ordered Ratatouille which came as a sandwich. It came piled 6" high, generous with cheese, and was absolutely delicious. Their Baguette has a nice chewy, doughy, inside with a crunchy crust. Great value and great price for fresh baked food.
Tina R
Wonderful little bakery. I don't eat much bread or refined sugar but I'll eat anything they have here. Everything I've had has been delectable and beautifully presented. I also had a custom made cake here for my anniversary, and asked them to decorate it with infinity symbols. It looked absolutely elegant and tasted like heaven. This bakery is not to be missed!!
Vita Borishkevich
Update: Mathew the store manager went above and beyond to resolve the experience. He reassured me that this was not how the desired to serve their costumers. I went back today and everyone was genuinely kind and friendly, which was such a pleasant experience. The food is amazing every time and always worth the trip.
Even though the food is phenomenal, the customer service is awful. I have been here multiple times, its a must when i come to town, but it can be such a horrible experience. Last time I was in was 2 days ago to get some treats and a coffee. I waited 30 minutes to get in and when I finally did, i was prepared to make my selections quickly. The gentleman that was helping me acted like i was putting him out and I have no idea why. Its just so frustrating to feel like your an unwanted guest. I dont think that treating your customers in such an inappropriate manner should be normal for a cafe.
Miranda Warren
I love this bakery!! Everything is fresh, delicious and thoughtfully made. The staff is amazing and so helpful when I can't decide what to get. This is my go to treat for myself and my coworkers during a rough work week.
Thea Lim
The food is always amazing! The espresso is more hit than miss depending, but it depends on the barista. Drip coffee tasted burnt, so better stick with espresso.
Niti Gupta
The timings of this place is crucial to note. As soon as you enter this place, you will be taken to France. The paintings, posters, graffiti on the walls and the smell do their magic to take you from Seattle to a European town.
This place has a wide selection - ranging from sandwiches, pastries, cakes, croissants, and different types of coffees.
I haven’t tried everything but all the desserts i have tried, they were good but not the best I have ever tried. I take a lot of my friends from out of town here and they love this place because of the variety and ambience.
Alicia Zhang
SO GOOD
I got both the twice baked almond (what they’re famous for and the owner has won awards for) which had the a gooey center but flaky crust and the twice baked chocolate croissant (similar to the almond with chocolate) and a small americano. The coffee beans that they use makes super rich but delightful coffee that is perfect for cutting with the croissants. Be warned that it is a small bakery that a attracts a lot of people!!
Kristin Vick
It's dangerous going in here. I plan on getting a bread for dinner and I end up with said bread, 2 pastries and a slice of pizza. Everything looks and tastes amazing! Close proximity to bakery nouveau is definitely a perk of living in cap hill.
Ryan Rowe
Let me start off by saying the food itself was excellent. That being said, the service was abysmal. We waited in line, which we were perfectly happy to do, for a while. This is understandable given the times we live in and the fact that they've limited their customer occupancy to four people.
However, the wait times were exacerbated by the fact that after customers had completed their purchases some remained in the store past the register, some for many minutes, preventing others from entering. Perhaps a polite reminder to their customers that after they've paid they should promptly exit would expedite the process.
Second, they were quite inconsistent in their enforcement of the aforementioned four customer limit. Mainly, they refused entry to myself and the person behind me when we initially tried to enter citing the occupancy limitation. This would be acceptable, however they counted wrong. Our entry would not have caused the occupancy to exceed four people. The person behind me simply waited a minute or two and re-entered despite the fact that no one had left since his first attempt.
Finally, once in the store we were quite rushed. This was our first time here, so we were unfamiliar with the offerings. After almost every item we looked at or discussed, they asked if we wanted one and if we were done without waiting for our reply. They also provided no explanation or description of any goods we looked at, simply inquiring if this would complete our order. I understand they are trying to move customers through quickly, but perhaps they should consider the above two points before rudely hurrying customers. I was intent on purchasing more than I did but felt so rushed to make a decision that I left the store within two or three minutes. To me, the wait we experienced outside was not worth the level of service we experienced inside. If I should ever choose to patronize this business, I will do so by picking up an online order.

Bakery Nouveau is a cute little bakery a couple blocks east of Cal Anderson. They have a really wide selection of pastries as well as some more savory options. I tried one of their almond croissants, which was crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. Perfection. It also had a really nice brown butter, caramel-y flavor. The almond filling was a little too sweet for my taste, but your milage may vary. Service was OK. The person behind me in line was helped before I was, which was odd. Additionally, the guy who helped me at the counter didn't know much about the pastries they were selling and seemed like he wanted to rush me through the line (I was one of two people in line, so it was not a busy time). That being said, the croissant I had was still very good, and I spent far more time enjoying my croissant than I did interacting with the staff member.
Chris Lagueux
This is a really delightful bakery with high end baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee. They are doing a fantastic job with social distancing and have people at the entrance making sure that the store has very few customers in it at a time and all safety measures are being followed. You really cant go wrong with anything here!
Holly Oleary
Finally found a fabulous bakery. We couldn't decide what to have so ordered several things, all amazing. One was an award winning pear mousse with chocolate. Tasted like heaven will feel like. Macarons were perfect. We had 5 different flavors all yummy. You have to try it to understand just how wonderful it is
Lucas Duffey
The twice baked chocolate croissant was really good, probably the best chocolate croissant I've had. Almost like the had a streusel layer on top to give it a nice granular texture.
Pistachio Cassis was pretty good. A very wet sweet dessert with a nice subtle tartness and crunch. I'd definitely recommend trying at least once, but it was a too sweet for me to get again.
The condensation on the glass made it hard to see the pastries.
Both the thin and thick Pizzas are impossible to cut with the plastic knife. For the thin pepperoni slice, the greasy crust had a nice balance between soft and crispy.
I need to try the quiche, since the eggs on the thick pizza I got were really good.
Adriana Ribeiro
I had an amazing time at this place! The bakery is clean and neat just like you want your favorite bakery to be. The staff was extremely attentive and prompt in their customer service. I had a veggie pizza with eggplant, arugula and peppers that was fresh and delicious. For dessert we got all sorts of stuff like their passion fruit cheesecake, the German cake and the double baked chocolate croissant. The lady at the cashier gave me their house special almond croissant to make my experience even more special. You guy are doing great! Keep up with the amazing work!
Madalyn Gordon
I remain convinced that this is the best bakery in the entire state - they've won international baking competitions!!! Whether it's a sandwich, quiche, pizza, cookie, pastry, or cake - everything is positively delicate and delectable - in addition to being BEAUTIFUL! Get your weekly bread here or a special sweet treat - either way, you'll be happy you came to Bakery Nouveau!
Hannah Wolf
The twice-baked croissant was not my favorite - I actually kind of disliked it... almond croissants are my usual go-to and I thought it was way too buttery and rich. I also thought it was very over-priced.
Hannah Colwell
Best French-style bakery in Seattle. They seriously have the best baguettes in the city. Their pastries are amazing as well- my favorite is the Almond Croissant. They also have sandwiches, quiche, and other lunch options. I mostly gorge on pastries though!
Samantha Colden
This is like a little bit of Paris in Seattle! We popped in to the Capitol Hill branch for croissants and coffee. The displays are absolutely mouth watering - you will certainly work up an appetite while you wait to order (and you probably will wait - this place is super popular.) We tried a spinach croissant and the twice baked almond croissant and both were utterly delicious. They weren't cheap but they were massive and tasted amazing. Plus the coffee was awesome and the staff were friendly. This place gets really busy and there are only a few tables inside, so be prepared to sit outside or take your baked beauties away with you!
Andrew Blackham
It *has* been good in the past. Still visually looks amazing and their cakes and pastries are good, but I've had a couple pastries where Mary Berry would describe them as having an undercooked "soggy bottom." Not sure if the quality has decreased as they scale to meet the high demand, but overall a great experience if you haven't been.
Nathan Hatch
The line can be long, but it moves quickly. I got the mushroom and goat cheese quiche, the caprese sandwich, and the twice-baked chocolate croissant. And they were all delicious. I'll be back to try more of their many other options.
Nadia Payet
Came here on Saturday at 11:30am and the line was pretty long. Their system for lining people up is crowding the room. 10 min wait to order the food but there was a shared table to sit down. The pistachio macaroon was a tad buttery to my taste, but the texture was ok. The quiche Lorraine is American size but the taste is there. Overall good service and good atmosphere for breakfast.
Christine
When my husband and I visited Seattle, they were very busy but the staff were still very polite and attentive when waiting on each customer. The food was delicious (can't go wrong with traditional coffee cake and a chocolate croissant). Not a lot of places to sit inside but there is a decent small park right across the street from the cafe with lots of benches.
Ahsan Farooq
Excellent coffee! The famous almond croissant didnt taste fresh (was too cold). It was barely possible to cut it with a steel butter knife. Macarons were ok but $2 each. Overall experience was not as it was few years ago.
Ben Bozeman
Absolutely best breakfast food hands down in Seattle. The turkey havarti croissant and the pear danish were both delicious. The dining area was a bit small, but had a nice vibe. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the fact that 4/5 of my interactions with the staff were negative. The first one who took my order didn't seem interested and spent most of his time talking to other employees, he also didn't offer to warm the sandwiches which would have been nice. The second was the cashier who was very friendly and welcoming. The third was when I went up to the counter and asked if it was possible to warm the sandwiches. The person said I could and then just stood there looking at me. After about what felt like a couple minutes of us just staring I said "so can I get these warmed?" The person huffed, rolled her eyes, and grabbed the bag from me and walked away. The last two were the ones who brought the warmed items back and they both barely called out the food at a discernable level and also just dropped the food on the counter without any consideration. My croissant was flattened thanks to that. Overall, great place, great food, just really, really bad customer service.
Chris Milliken
Best carrot cake I've had in all of Seattle. Would highly recommend but be prepared to spend.
Annette de Soto
Their macarons are good but not exceptional. I feel like their quality has dropped in the last year or two. Even their sandwiches seem a little less carefully crafted, like things are being put together in too much of a hurry. This location doesn't seem as friendly or as high quality as the West Seattle option.
Brandon Moak
Best bakery in Seattle. I remember waiting in line in west Seattle to get the olive laminate when they introduced it ten years ago, and my love affair with this bakery has not stopped. Despite now busy they are the service is always good and they do a good job encouraging my bad habits by recommending new treats. The must have are the croissants, but everything's fantastic.
Katie W.
Great, freshly prepared breakfast items, sandwiches, and desserts. Seriously some of the best pastries I've had outside of France! Try the twice baked almond croissant - it will change your life!!
Tom Elwood
Delightful clean bakery with a tantalizing display of pastries, delicious sandwiches, artisan lattes with a rich said aftertaste, and real attention to detail. Do you know the kind of sandwich where you bite into it and it's incredibly satisfying, chewy-delicious bread, nice cheese, cornichons instead of pickles, every bite a perfect symphony. The raspberry "ballet slice" was exactly what you want - real fruit flavor, perfect mousse that's not too sweet, and a meringue-like base that's not heavy and balances well with the lightness of the whole dessert. Knocked this one out of the park!
Zac Schasteen
Quite simply the best bakery in Seattle. I was quite concerned for the safety of my family and I when we arrived though. There was a tent encampment within a very short distance of the bakery whose occupants were behaving erratically. We were able to enter and retreat from the bakery without incident through.
Sarah Turnbaugh
Their Kouign Amann is amazing!! It's great on it's own or with a bit of vanilla ice cream. Also a great place to get Pączkis and baked treats for holidays!
Mike
Fantastic baked goods of all types. I went here while on vacation at the recommendation of my sister who is a Seattle native. The croissants were amazing. The sandwiches and macaroons were also top-notch. I will definitely be coming back here next time I visit Seattle.
Mathew Renner
Some of the best food I have ever had. Had a problem today and they made it right.
Matt
Wonderful bakery my wife and I visited when we were on vacation in Seattle. I had a couple pastries and a latte, both were exceptional. Bakery was clean and staff was extremely helpful. We sat outside and the staff delivered our food once it was ready. Would visit again!
Diane Lostrangio
Amazing baked goods. Creme de la creme but be prepared to wait in line. It's rare to pop in and out quickly. If you have the time though, it's well worth it. I enjoy bringing home a few different cake slices for us to sample for a special dinner.
Sara Benchekor
Bakery Nouveau saved the day! We were looking for a last minute birthday cake, not only did they have a wide selection of cakes but it was a absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back to try other pastries! Merci ♥️
Karen Go
Oh, hello double baked almond croissant! This is one of the most tastiest croissants that I have ever had in my life. Second would be the double baked chocolate croissant, also from here.
This place also has great sandwiches and other baked goods and the best part is that this place has great hours all week! A lot of the other great bakeries are only open in the morning and are closed two days a week, but I can always get my croissant fix at bakery nouveau during normal hours.
Nick Wilson
Excellent selection of DELICIOUS baked goods. Good brunch spot and great for sweets too. Didn't get a chance to try their coffee, but I'm willing to bet they do a fantastic job with that as well.
Carrie
Palmiers here are the best! They're huge and puffy with the right mix of crispy outside with a slightly softer inside. The sugar outside is slightly burnt and caramelized which adds to the crispy texture and gives it a smokier flavor. Even though they're big they're not dense at all, so you could easily have it as a snack. Would like to try a few more items but this alone has me sold!
Tatiana
I love this bakery. There was a line to get in, but that was fine, since it’s so small. We got a tiramisu, blueberry lemon croissant, pear danish, and a ham and cheese sandwich. Everything was delicious, especially the sandwich.
Chris S
The pastries here are great, if I lived closer, it would probably kill me, but as it is, having an occasional treat from here is very satisfying. The croissants and the twice-baked almond croissants are great options, most of the sandwiches are good, and the baguettes are really nice. Not everything is a winner; the "hot dog baguette" was interesting, but not really in a good way.
PK Kilty
Some of the best tasting pastries and croissants in Seattle, with an assortment of sandwiches as well. Their cakes and tarts are excellent for special occasions! Our fav seasonal croissants right now: a) leek & gruyere; b) peach, arugula & goat cheese. Spectacular!
Roya Habibi
Per the pictures you see on the company's post, you can go ahead on start drooling over their almond croissants or sweet pastries. But bear with me for a second while I die over their sandwiches... You take one bite and you are instantly sitting on a bench wearing a beret watching a well dressed woman take selfies with her dog in front of the Eiffel tour.
Their ratatouille sandwich is warmed up and tastes like heaven. Their California is on a huge croissant and is to die for. Their breakfast sandwich has the perfect combo of eggs and thick bacon and you want to eat it for every meal for the rest of your life. They have around 8 sandwich that are all AMAZING. Plus their pizzas. Plus their quiches. WOW.... I could go on.
Please do yourself a service and don't try them, otherwise no other sandwich will every live up to this one again in your life.
Shawn Sandlin (EvilBetty)
Delicious croissants and tasty pastries. There's a reason the lines start early and things sell out. Yes, it's all that good. Get anything and everything that's left. The staff are helpful and friendly. Be sure to get extra for the next day!
Shanny Li
This place was originally recommended to me by my French coworker after we had a conversation about how France ruined croissants for me and every croissant I've had in the states since have just disappointed me. Bakery nouveau has a delicious to die for twice naked almond croissant. I make trips over to cap hill from the east side just for that.
Their other pastries are yummy, cinnamon roll, macarons, you won't be disappointed.
I've had their quiche once, perfectly custard like egg filling encased in a wonderful flakey crust.
Highly highly recommend. Do plan to take it to go, I've rarely managed to get a seat here.
Ted Healy
We love their sandwiches! And their croissants are very good. Favorite Saturday morning tradition. Great coffee too. Be prepared to wait for a table or take it to go though.
Serena Freeman
Believe the reviews. Eat here. Just do it. Get yourself a sandwich. For how delicious these sandwiches are, you cannot beat the price. The pastries are all divine. The twice-baked almond croissant is everything you could dream of. OK the danishes are actually not my favorite danishes but they are still good. I'm a bit of a danish connoisseur.
Brittany Fairchild
Man I love this place. The brie BLT and caprese sandwiches are my favorites. Their desserts are yummy, but the best thing ever is the brisket croissant. If you are lucky enough to be there when they have it buy them all. It is AMAZING
Susan E
Delicious! Pricey yes, worth every penny. The roast beef brioche sandwich and blueberry vanilla croissant are to die for. This bakery is consistently producing high quality products with friendly and professional service.
John McDermott
Fabulous food! I am a very picky eater. Almond latte is always on point. The macaroons? What can I say? Beautiful and the flavors are magnificent. Atmosphere is coffee shop and comfortable..
Tanvi Jindal
Got a tiramisu for my husband's birthday and it was absolutely delicious! Everyone asked for seconds! And my husband just loved it! Thank you! ♥️
Rosa D
This place is absolutely fabulous. Just decadently, achingly delicious. When you walk in, you will doubt whatever you thought you wanted because everything is looks just so good.
S & J Rustic Conceptions
The staff was friendly and helpful. The twisted chocolate croissant was heavenly. The best croissant ever. Good coffee as well.
Craig Merker
Best bakery in town! Every time I go, I always get an old favorite and something new, and I'm never disappointed. Bakery Nouveau has redefined the concept of the neighborhood bakery and I'm so happy I live within walking distance.
Tisha Ellis
They baked goods are amazing! Wonderful croissants and pastries. Their mousse/layer cakes are delicious. Totally worth the calories ;)
Amy Spens
The best bakery in seattle, hands-down. Be prepared for long lines in the morning, sometimes out the door and around the corner. Their twice-baked almond croissant is a MUST-TRY, and they make their own of pastry from scratch. Can be very hard to find a take during busy hours, as it's a popular place, so be prepared to take your food elsewhere or to stand while you nibble and wait for a table to open up!
Ken Germann
I went in for cake but it didn't appeal so I got a double baked almond croissant for about 5$, it was good with crispy edges and soft insides.
Reino Garcia
Best Twice Baked Almond & Chocolate-Almond Croissant ever! I highly recommend it!! I've also tried their Macarons and Kugelhopf (rich bread dough with cinnamon, sugar, and rum-butter)-yumm! They also have some tasty looking sandwiches which I haven't gotten around to trying yet. Oooh, I highly recommend their coffee also! It'll pair well with the dessert choices.
Riddell Williams Group
The line says it all. One of the best bakeries in all of Seattle this place is known for many things. Everytime I ask someone who likes this place they turn me on to something new. My go to all time favorite is the Kugelhopf which to describe in words is a sugary rum flavored soft doughy creation that leaves you wanting more. Also they have a great selection of macarons.
Kit Hymel
Their baked goods are the best in Seattle. I highly recommend coming here and getting something to go, because there’s no way you’re finding a table inside. They have definitely become so popular they’ve outgrown their space. The west seattle location is much better if you want to sit down inside.
Sunny Choi
We love getting pastries from here. Their chocolate croissant(not twice baked) is the best in town (in my opinion). Amazing. But seating is limited and there is no parking.
Maria Bazhenova
The best bakery in Seattle. Everything is amazing from the bread to the sandwiches to the unique and large assortment of pastries. A go-to!
Keith Bachman
One of the most legit croissant and baguette bakeries in the area. Highly suggest the double baked almond and chocolate croissants.
Bre C.
Love their Junction sandwich!! Go early as the good stuff goes rather quickly. They also have better coffee than Starbucks! I can drink a shot of espresso straight up from here.
Kerry Rodgers
Guess I got lucky, as it was not at all crowded on a Wed morning at 7.30. The Junction ham and eggs croissant was huge and very good. Could see them preparing more croissant sandwiches in the back. Too bad I couldn't try everything, especially the chocolates.
Delaney O
Very very oily chocolate croissant
Zakkry Endicott
It is redundant to go on about everything they get right but here are some highlights:
* Many happy friendly staff, like a well oiled relay race tour through bakery heaven all the way to a seemingly always immediately available cashier ( I notice there are baristas busy at work to)
* Fresh goods are coming out while you order. It makes you want to get in line and order again.
* Variety.
* Quality. (REALLY GOOD!)
* Abundance: The whole space is gorgeously dedicated to displaying the goods, and there are just so many! I have never seen a dull, empty shelf here.
* Mentioned already above but they have dedicated baristas that make great coffee! I enjoyed my machiatto here. This especially makes it easy to give them 5+ stars!
Max Shenfield
I've been to the Capitol Hill location three times now, and I don't think there's anything in the display that'll do you wrong. The modest looking Kugelhopf is a surprise favorite. It tastes like a fancy French version of Panera Bread's Cinnamon Crunch bagel.
I've been there around 9 a.m. and it always seems to be busy, but even with a line snaking back to the register it only took 10 or 15 minutes to get my order.
Angela Renzetti
Love their iced coffee! It's always hard to pick between a savory croissant situation and a sweet one. So I usually get both! Really sweet customer service too.
Kristian Hartikainen
Nouveau has a large selection of sweet pastries and cakes, but also several options for sandwiches and other savory things. The brie BLT sandwich I had for lunch was delicious, and especially the baguette was good. The pastries also are always delicious.
Agnieszka Szefer
The selection is huge and everything we tried there was good. The actual pastries and sandwiches are also huge, I wish they were slightly cheaper and smaller. The line was very long and it was hard to find a spot to sit inside. It would be so nice to have some tables outside
Tanya Hayes
I will always love the West Seattle spot but you can't go wrong with what's offered at any branch. This place also gets crowded and you'd have to wait a while to get a seat. Love the pastries of course. Ratatouille sandwich is soooo good!
Miles Hicks
Love, love, love! Awesome place, they make their own chocolate and everything. It's close to lots of stuff on Capitol Hill and the staff was very friendly. Literally, everything is good. I especially loved the apple tart.
Nickolas Carpas
I’m actually a big fan of the salmon croissant thing. I don’t actually know how to judge a bakery, but I’m always happy with the sandwiches and the people are nice. What else could you ask for? (PS: I’ve never had the coffee. I usually hit Ladro just down the street before walking over to BN)
Jen H.
Consistently delicious Apricot croissant. Chocolate croissant was so so; solid piece of chocolate on one far side and rest all dough. The breakfast Junction croissant is very tasty and worth a try.
Yewondwossen Adefris
Pammier is my choice pastry here for two reasons. First, $2 price is fantastic. 2nd, their version is thick and not over baked giving it a bit mushy texture which I like. They also serve a coffee so good that it complements their quality pastry.
Vasyl Drentza
4 stars just because I can’t understand why the RESTROOM would be closed for customers, imagine coming yo a bakery and the employees tell you to go to the hospital to use a restroom,
Other than that the bakery is very delicious and amazing.
Robin M
On my quest for the best almond croissant in the city Bakery Nouveau was the clear winner! Their twice baked croissant is all of the best things a pastry can be:
- crispy flaky on the outside with crushed almonds
- tender sweet chewy on the inside
- plump with real almond paste in the middle (none of that fake heavy almond extract taste)
- dribbles of dark chocolate and powdered sugar to finish it off
Yeah, having now found this masterpiece I will have to make it a rule to walk up Cap. Hill every time in order to get one or I will quickly expand out of my clothes.
And...they also have sandwiches, other pastries, chocolates, cakes, coffee...and the best personal service I've had in a while.
Nice to meet you BN, I think we will be seeing a lot of each other.
Jane Hadley
Superb. Fantastic pastries as well as wonderful lunch sandwiches on croissants, baguettes, and other great breads. Lattes are excellent. Nice folks, good service. Right across the street from Kaiser Permanente. I always stop in after a medical visit!
Aaron Wheeler
Excellent pastries and croissants with a wide selection that’ll always make it both easy and difficult to choose a treat!
Mara Dillinger
Great coffee, great baked food, friendly staff despite being busy.
Margarita Wilde
One of my favorite bakeries in Seattle. Their croissants are crispy and buttery, but what really makes them special is their holiday breads. Incredible stollen in the winter time.
Stanley Chan
This is absolutely a must try. The twice baked almond croissant was one of the best pastries I've ever tasted.
David Stephens
The Ballet cake is amazing. The best of a cake, cheesecake, and pie all in one.
Jean Amick
Twice baked almond croissants the best.
Vasu Sharma
I've come here so often that I've kinda gotten sick of the same stuff. They've been the same for last 3-4 years. Same sandwiches. Giving 5 stars coz of the quality. But the quality is so good that you'll go there a lot.
Joshua Pleszewicz
Ham and cheese croissant. Sausage biscuit, when available. BLT with brie. Twice baked chocolate croissant. I hear the bread is fantastic, but this is my sugar-binge, breakfast bite happy place.
Sam Goffin
Twice baked almond croissant or the chocolate variety is a must have for your first time here! Their coffee is good as well and I highly recommend buying all your cakes for family occasions here!
Kulpreet Rana
My favorite bakery anywhere...and I've traveled A LOT. The twice baked chocolate croissant would be on my list for food items on my last day living. Their California Club sandwich is also delicious.
Tejal Raut
Got the dark chocolate cake, luckily they had one when I walked in.
The cakes are really good, maybe that’s why they get sold out pretty quick, so I’d suggest to order one if you don’t want to face disappointment. ( PS: They don’t hold a cake for you just over a phone call! )
Sarah Evanson-Isaac
One of the best bakeries and patisseries around and a great place to get beautiful locally made truffles from a master chocolatier. Seasonal chocolates, pastries, cakes, breads, macarons and cookies, perfect host(ess) gifts. Nothing gluten free (just so you know) except maybe macarons? Rotating espresso blends each month so your coffee gets switched up and stays interesting. Wish I could give this bakery six stars. One caveat though: lines out the door weekend mornings and almost nowhere to sit. People get stressed and the bakery runs out of staples like the $2 Palmier and pain au chocolat. It is so worth the trouble ^_^
Theodore Hellmann
Great bakery - would specifically recommend the baguettes and croissants. Order ahead online (2 days early) or by phone (any time before) to skip the line and help with social distancing.
Ana Puga
Everything here is delicious. The Brie-LT and duck sandwiches are a must. If you're more on the sweet side try a twice baked almond croissant, it won't disappoint!!
David Winkler
Amazing wonderful breakfast croissant with tons of different fillings in a single perfect croissant. Wow.
Also good mozzarella and tomato sandwich.
Collin Chartrand
I stopped here for lunch during my visit. The Tuna Croissant hit the spot. Their Kouigen Amann had the perfect amount of sweetness to compliment my cup of coffee!
The staff was very friendly.
Josephine Forney
They make their own mocha sauce and it is life changing. Same goes for the almond croissants!
Their tea is loose leaf and high quality as well
Celeste Liberty
Their twice-baked almond croissant and macarons (had the yuzu today--so awesome!) are a must. I'm a plain ol' butter croissant kinda girl myself, and Nouveau has one of the best croissants in Seattle, IMHO.
Jerry Mc Kenney
Funny. The GPS picked up my proximity to this BN location. However, I've never been to this store. Friends of mine were intrigued about my experiences at the Burien location; so, while they were at the Medical Center they enjoyed the 15th St. Bakery Nouveau. Cool, ja?!
dsmfwm
Croissants are amazing. Texture and flavor is so yummy. My go to place on the weekends even though there are many bakeries closer to home.
Grant Gonyer
Had a delightful ham and swiss sandwich on a fresh cut of baguette and some of the moistest coffee cakes I've ever had. They seemed to have a great selection of other pastries, definitely worth a drop by
J M
Lovely food and great service but very disappointed they only accept plastic. My son went yesterday and after picking out his favorites was not allowed to pay with cash. He was very embarrassed and upset.
János Szablya
Amazing selection of pastries and sandwiches. Conveniently located. Parking can be a little tight but with little imagination it's not an issue. I eat here once or twice a month even though it is quite a ways from where I live.
Akila
Great collection of pastries. Although they had a smaller spread because of the closure during the holiday weekend, the pastries were fresh and service was great. Great tasting coffee too!
vino chandrakumar
My absolute favorite French bakery in Seattle. Just walking towards it in the morning, you’ll smell the croissants baking!
Rich Medved
A great little bakery with a fantastic selection and always busy. While I've had bakery goods I prefer to theirs, you most likely will find something to your liking and would be hard pressed to find a wider selection. It's on Capitol Hill, right across the street from Kaiser Permanente.
Gina White
Their pound cake is Devine as are all of their cakes. Pasties are good but as they have grown the quality has slipped. They used to be one of the closest to french quality as you could find. But then we are not in France. C' est la Vie 🇫🇷 …
Sara Fish
One of the best bakeries I have ever been to. The salmon croissant, Ham croissant and the double almond croissant are all to die for. Seating in this amazing bakery is limited but service is friendly.
Nikko Huertas
Hands down the best bakery in all of Seattle. This is not a joke. If you have not tried Bakery Nouveau your taste buds are missing out. If this place was next door I would eat there everyday. Best bakery in Seattle.
B Clark
This place has legendary pastries, the drinks are pretty good but the Pastries! Ah! Barely legal
Neil B
Delicious food with tons of variety. I visited Seattle for a week and this was my favorite bakery and one of my favorite eateries of the whole trip. Be prepared for a crowd and it is small inside if you plan to eat there.
Sara Ficklin
Legitimately the best bakery in Seattle!
Kiran Dhamdhere
I got the BLT and some mango lemonade
I have to say both where excellent the only issue i had was with the mango lemonade was not very cold when i got it so something i would reccomend would be putting in the ice first but all i had to do was wait 2 minutes for it to get colder despite that i recommend the mango lemonade its some of the best ive had and the blt is pretty good too
I have been to this place lots of times but i thought i would write a review because my time here was great
Irene Brown
This place is ABSOLUTELY delicious and delightful!
While there is quite a line for the tasty pastries, it was quite worth the wait. It was our first visit and first meal after our flight so our eyes were more hungry than our mouths, but not by much.
We had the fluffy veggie pizza, twice baked almond croissant, strawberry rhubarb pastry, carrot cake, and 70 layer pastry (recommended by our server). All of the pastries are wonderful flaky with the right amount of sweetness, where not to be overwhelming. The carrot cake had a strong coconut flavor, something unique to their recipe.
For drinks, we got a coffee and a latte with honey and lavender. The latte was a special order, but something you should definitely ask for. SO DELICIOUS!
This is certainly going to be my must-have on every visit to Seattle. I can't wait to go back!
Triston Jensen
I discovered this place right after getting back from a trip to Germany on the southwestern border, right next to France. This bakery is the closest thing to what I experienced in Europe, although several times more expensive. I love pretty much everything they make.
Brett Youngstrom
The twice baked almond croissant is delicious. I've also had their carrot cake and it was really good.
Babiedawhl Bankz
I love the bacon lettuce with smoked gouda cheese on baguette...aaahhhhh... Put that Bad Boi in the oven!!!! Take lettuce off or replace with spinach... Sandwich is regretfully delicious... 🥖🥪🥖🍞🧀🥓... Just wished they cooked bacon a little longer. Not brittle but cook the fat out a tad more... But still very good... Guilty pleasure... …
Steve Aykens
Just go there, you won't be disappointed. Twice baked croissants are the obvious choice, but the cakes, cookies, cheesecake, sandwiches, and I'm assuming everything else is delicious! The baker is award winning for a reason!
lynda hurter
We each had a slice of pizza; one of pepperoni, one of Hawaiian. Both, very good! Will try their pastries or yummy looking sandwiches next time.
Betty Gray Smoot (Pluferd)
Lots of yummy selections and attentive staff. Good espresso drinks and the tea cookies I bought were AWESOME! A little pricey but you get what you pay for!
Jessica Ness
Always delicious pastries, with so many solid consistent stars, as well as a healthy amount of seasonal rotation pastries that are DIVINE as well. Great for their plethora of savory pastries, which are always my favorites <3
Deborah Barnard
Too crowded - needs a much bigger space or better use of the one they have. The food, however - so. dang. good. The Phoenix cake is my favorite, also dig their spinach & bechamel croissant.
Matthew Cheng
I loved the cheesecake, wish I could have tried more
Ria Zerostone
The pastry chef is a master. You must try some of these creations! Passionfruit macaron was to die for as well.
Prices were very reasonable as well for such high quality desserts!!! 5.50 for a masterpiece slice of sakura cake. Cant stop thinking about that cake :0 yummm thank you!
Asmaa Quorrich
Quality is good, the bakery is nice but the service is disappointing. We are tourists and drove quite a bit to try it and the person who attended to us was neither nice nor helpful. We said we are eating in and yet our quiche was served ice cold not to mention the attitude. It is a shame
Anna Sycz
Thank you for these delicious Polish PĄCZKI you guys make! Worth the trip to Cap Hill!
Christopher Rosbough
The bakery is fantastic. Freshly baked goods are perfect for a cold evening. And the espresso is especially tasty. Though, no wi fi in 2016!?! I know its French, but even in France wi fi is prolific. This is a good take out place but not friendly for sitting and working or reading.
Jeffrey Anderson
I had a turkey and havarti croissant sandwich and it was freakin heavenly. It had a good sized slice of havarti and a little bit of course grain mustard... So simple, but absolutely perfect. Their coffee was also pretty good.
Matthew Gilkey
A great place for coffee and a twice baked almond croissant. Everything else they serve is pretty good, too. If you experience long lines, just know that it's worth it.
Sam Behnam
I like the place and its almond chocolate croissant however the last time their croissant was unusually small and hence 4 star. I don't think that with popularity they should bring down the quality of their signature item.
James Trent
Pastries are beautiful and varied. Seemed like they could use a touch more salt in both the savory and sweet varieties. Italian soda with housemade almond syrup was excellent.
Ray Castillo Jr.
The pastries are good but they aren't savoury, are too sweet, and overpriced. One of the most overrated places in Seattle. If you're looking for an amazing pastry, look else where on The Hill.
Anita
We stumbled upon this place and were very pleasantly surprised! It’s welcoming and inviting, clean, nice displays, the staff are friendly and the pastries 🥮 and coffee ☕️ are delicious! …
Shemeka Rhome
Bakery Nouveau just made it to the Top 20 of Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in the US!!! I'm totally on board with this. Famous for Twice-baked almond and Twice-baked chocolate croissants (my fave). If you're ever in Seattle, it's a must.
Thanks for your genius work, my namesake, William Leaman.
Tip: The sandwiches and the 2x baked croissants travel. I've taken on a Croque Monsieur on the plane for lunch and the 2x baked welcome presents for friends. BN packs sandwiches and croissants in environmentally friendly brown boxes, sturdy enough to work as a gift box. No mail order. I've already asked (Super Sad Face)
Hailey Young
Love everything about Bakery Nouveau! The people, pastries, coffee, music, and minimal waste/paper products used. 10/10 always
Amy Robinson
We're here at least once a week at our neighborhood bakery. Everyone goes for the pastries, but make sure you take home a loaf of bread. The garlic focaccia has whole cloves baked into it.
Saba Kiyani
Their strawberry pistachio cake is so delicious sweet baked goodness!! I highly recommend stopping by here if in the area.
A+++++!!
Zach Valdry
Amazing food overall, the servers are nice and the twice baked almond croissant is bliss. Definitely check this place out if your in the mood for amazing baked goods.
Sarah Makin
I worked across the street for a while and this was my favorite place for lunch. Classic French style café sandwiches that are absolutely delicious. The lunch rush can get crazy but they offer takeout.
Caitlin Foster
This is a shining beacon of deliciousness in Seattle's culinary paradise. The chocolate cake is dense and lovely, and the quiche is like a happy, fluffy cloud. Pictured: a mini chocolate pecan pie diffused with angelic light.
John Trahms
Fantastic croissants. Was expecting to be able to sit down and enjoy it but this place is designed for you to take the pastry home. Good flavors.
Heather Morelli
The "Queen Aman" was so tasty! And the have paczki leading up to Fat Tuesday - one of the very few places in Seattle to reliably carry these every year. I wish there was a location closer to anywhere north of 90 in Seattle.
Quba Michalski
Best bakery in the area. Wide selection of sweet and savory bakes - all universally good pretty much across the board.
Great spot to sit down for a tea, coffee and a treat - or to pick something for later.
H. Stella Park
Dangerously delicious! Love their sandwiches (particularly the ratatouille sandwich), olive fougasse, rosemary focaccia, kouign amann, twice baked almond croissant, quiches, and seasonal offerings (paczki!).
Unknown
The staff were rude and irritable. They told us not to block the doorway, even though we were standing some distance from it. Afterwards, they were grumpy and passive-aggressive towards us.
TJ Smith
We travel to Europe and this place is just like the places you would find on the streets of Paris!
Speaking French is the only thing missing.
A French cafe that I can communicate with, to cool. Tables on the sidewalk and wine?
Thank You
Almira Rexhaj
Best cake in town.
tony potts
The salmon pate was sooooooo good! It made the wait absolutely worth it. I waited about 15 mins in line then another 15 mins bc they didn't have the salmon pate. It was so good. I seriously could just eat this all day long. I highly recommend it!
Madhavan K K
Amazing pastries. I tried the chocolate peanut butter tart, classic chocolate cake and caramello and they were all really good. The double chocolate chip cookie was also really good.
Gary Kelsberg
Good baked goods and coffee, rude service. When I asked the barista if he could please add sugar while he was mixing my latte he told me to do it myself.
John Van Valen
Originally had a four-star review, but edited for five. The pastries and coffee are absolutely amazing, but plan on not finding a seat, especially during the busy hours.
Konrad Janica
Very friendly and organized staff. No appointment needed for full cakes. The German chocolate cake was delicious!
Roy
Doesn't seem like they raised their prices. When prices are going up everywhere. They could. Thank you for looking out for your customers!!!
Peter Smalley
The best bakery in Seattle - except for their West Seattle location, which is better only because of the cool vibe of West Seattle. Try the macarons, they are the best in the city. The California croissant is to die for.
Roberto C. Nieves (Tito)
One of my favorite bakeries around Seattle. Staff are always pleasant and cheerful. Their desserts are always on point!
Shannon McConnaughey
I can't say anything that hasn't already been said - meticulously crafted pastries and breads. The croissant layers shatter when you take a bite. Both sweet and savory choices are delectable.
Colleen Frakes
Best bakery in Seattle! Known for their pastries, but I love their sandwiches and coffee too. Get there early for bread, they sell out.
Christopher Kauffman
Always a place to go. Even in this small space they have a perfect system in place for social distancing!! Get the spinach croissant ;) you're welcome.
Hannah Ng
very attentive servers who are also efficient!
Joseph Gray
Today the fellow who took our order explained that croque monsieur literally translates to "Mr. Crunch" which is wonderful. And it was delicious!
Leticia Escobar
Incredibly delicious baked goods! chocolates, macaroons, pastries, breads, and savory sandwiches, quiches and pizza. And, the staff is friendly and awesome!
Scott Harron
Wonderful baked goods! Amazing croissants. Delicious cakes and cookies. Worth the wait.
Warren Bailey
Their Praline Dream is absolutely delicious! They're sandwiches were also very good. A bit pricey, but the tastes were quite fantastic.
David E. Morgan
when I say this is some of the best baked goods you will find in seattle.. that's an understatement. it's pretty expensive for what it is.. but I would argue it's worth the cost. the workers were super nice and laid back, yet professional
Sinan Uşşaklı
One of the best bakeries in Seattle, they do run out of selection in the early evening late afternoon. There is not a single thing that I can say mediocre in their menu.
Flames n' Stuff
Great pastries and bread. Everything for a good price. Lines are sometimes a bit long but worth the wait. Great breakfast for a weekend morning.
Sandy Brainard
Staff are kind, friendly, and provide prompt courteous service. I had the California BLT on a croissant, very tasty and I thought it was a perfect serving size.
Pulkit Ralhan
Haven't tried a lot of things, the double baked almond croissant is a 5 star product, the Tiramisu is a 4.
Roger Andersen
Awesome plain croissant and cinnamon scone. Coffee was great. After this snack I was in a great mood. Sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Julie Sebag
You can smell the croissant half way down the block, everything is delicious. Worth a quick sweet bite or to grab a sandwich.
Mindy Trinh
I couldn’t decide what to order, but the people there were very helpful with their suggestions. The cake and macarons we ordered were lovely!
Jared
Every thing here tastes as delicious as it smells. I've never had a bad dining experience in the many years that I have frequented this bakery(or the west Seattle location for that matter)
Deirdre McShane
Twice baked almond croissant is my favorite thing to order! I did try the ratatouille sandwich and it was absolutely spectacular.
Nazneen Malik
We ordered a friend's chocolate cake last year and wasted none of it. It was rich, chocolatey just the way she liked and 100% of us loved it.
Marcus Fan
it’s the smaller, more convenient location of my favorite bakery in seattle. the pastries can perhaps be a bit too buttery but excellent overall.
Heather J
Love Bakery Nouveau! Every time I go to Capital Hill, I stop in for lunch or a treat. Their twice baked croissants are the best!
Breezy Charles
Home of the WORLD'S BEST double baked almond croissant.
Don't take my word for it- get one.
I'm not kidding.
Abhinuv Pitale
One of the best places to get desserts. Try their amazing chocolate croissants. :')
Kjellsea Sequist
Wonderful croissants and cheesecake. Great service and nice atmosphere. Definitely a place to stop while in town.
Joey Bellerin
get your French bread here!!
Frenchy S
Nice selection of French pastries. Sandwiches are very good. Also has coffee shop inside. Usually very busy and many times a long line.
Lee Jang Hyuk men
I went to there for my breakfast. So yummy breads and nice people. Recommend almond croissant and honey walnut scones!
Sergey Krasovski
Almond croissants are mind blowing!
Michael Cohen
From pizza to tiramisu, this place will satisfy your taste buds. I also take out of town guests here to experience a bit of France in Seattle.
Con Rawlings
Mostly good, but also always sort of a disappointment. All too often their bakery stuff has a tinge of burnt taste. And parking??? I keep coming back, but keep wishing for improvement.
Roger Andersen
Great croissants, bread, chocolates and coffee
Jon Knight
High quality cafe at reasonable prices. I bought a cake from here for a friend and they really enjoyed it. Also tried many of the pastries and never leave disappointed.
Grace Farnham
Delicious treats! Great stop for sweet or savory food.
Sangji Lee
Amazing twice baked almond croissant !
Dawid
Great people watching across the street. Most exciting part of capital hill if you ask me. Regardless, great bakery.
mallari srivaani
One of the best chocolate and almond croissants I ever had 😋 . …
Sharon C Gentry
California Club Croissant Sandwich = happiest mouth. Would highly recommend. Great staff & yummy food.
International Petsitter
This is THE go-to place for macarons - they are truly melt-in-your-mouth yummy. It's a bit pricey compared to the abundant number of eateries in the area.
Kevin j
Oh boy! Lots of baked good here! Pastries, cookies , muffins! Staff is very friendly and their products are very fresh.
cathyhammer
My girlish figure would be gone, if I ate there every day. Try their cinnamon rolls, but share! You will fight over the center....oh so yummilious!
HJ H
Love!!! Just tried for the first time on a recommendation and will probably go back tomorrow too. Best pastries in town!
Rebecca Brumfield
Most incredible bakery I've ever been to!
Anthony Greer
I hate this place. It's right around the corner. Everything is delicious. And if I think about it I have to go in because it's the most magical bakery is all the world. Actually, now I've thought of it too much and must go. Don't fall into my trap. Stay away!!!!
Joshua Kaplan
Best bakery in Seattle. Seawolf might beg to differ though. Try the twice baked almond croissant - it's unique and amazing
Deborah Hoenig
Delicious food and very friendly staff. Best croissants I've ever eaten!
Mike Hamman
Worth every penny. We drive down from time to time to get our fix.
Jake
Place is typically busy, but with legitimate reasons. The varieties and quality of their deserts and pastries do not disappoint at all - surely a local favorite.
Paul Snider
Incredible sandwich selections. We had the Italian roll and the steak sandwich with brie. Delicious! Decadent desserts.
RON TANZI
Great sandwiches, sweets, and savory bake goods, Excellent coffee and amazingly fast service considering the stream of health workers from Kaiser Permanente across the street and Capital Hill regulars.
Tom Wu
It’s a small, but lively bakery. There’s usually a line, but it goes quick. The macarons were delicious (favorite is the vanilla).
Ankit Singh
Hard to resist bakery with extremely good selection of cakes and pastries. For chocolate lovers, try their twice baked chocolate croissant or a slice of classic chocolate cake.
Sreekanth JP
Refreshing pastries. Try double baked almond croissant or double baked chocolate croissant. To have a better experience, dont count calories :)
Doreen V
Always amazing sandwiches and their almond croissant is oh so good.
Natalie Chun
The place is not too pricey, but the famous double baked croissants were disappointing and the coffee was very average. I would not make any effort to go back here.
Kevin Chung
One of my favorite bakeries in town. I usually go for the pastries, and love their chocolate croissants!
Tim Brewer
One thing that I like it is far enough away that I can't go there every day. Good baked goods that sell out quickly
James Keenan
Twice soaked Almond Croissant is out of this world! Along with Sandwiches, Breads and more! Always my place to stop when I'm in Seattle!
Julie W
We always enjoy the cakes especially pistachio strawberry or pistachio raspberry during summer. In winter cassis pistachio. The best.
Indranil Ghosh
Although this location has the same menu as it's West Seattle sibling, the sloppy and arrogant attitude of many of the staff members make this location less welcoming. Additionally, it seems to be frequented by childless hipsters who are extremely rude to children. My kid was pushed out of line by a bearded and man-bunned 20- something...
J
Excellent breads and deesert
Arabica beans (GrootRoots)
Double baked croissants are highly recommend. Plenty of savory options if you're not looking for something sweet.
Federico Ramos Puente (Spaniard)
I would give it 2 stars because the place is always packed (which is a great thing for the owners).
The food is amazing and so are the drinks. Very small place thougb, get there early !!!
Carol Windsor

The twice baked chocolate croissant was AMAZING! Customer service was top notch and the house changed was delish!
Larissa Batrakova
Service is nice 👍🏻 food is fine, but not excellent 🙌🏻 …
Samuel Sherrow
Coffee is great, the quiche Lorraine is better than the mushroom goat cheese quiche. However both were great.
Kathleen Beard
Absolutely amazing service, the food was to die for. I can't wait till we can go back and try more yummy foods and treats.
Frederick
Excellent coffee, amazing pastries. They make their own chocolate, so I highly recommend the mochas.
Somenan Thach
Never had a better almond crossiant. One may be too much for one person or one sitting but best I've had so far.
Kenneth Wright (Ken)
Love the twice baked almond croissants. We go the Bakery Nouveau each time we"re in Seattle.
Christine Fliger
First time here, they are in a super busy location, but they are quick and friendly. I had the Croque Monsieur, and it was delicious!
Alice Mixich
Runs out of yummy pastries quite fast so have to be there early, super yummy dessert and sandwiches!! Inconvenient location, pricey, service is okay.
Elizabeth Fitzgerald
Food and people are great. Not enough seating. Twice baked croissants are amazing.
Ernest Edsel
Great prices for incredible food of the highest quality; we always stock up for Christmas and New Year's day, especially the to-die-for Three Cheese quiche.
Jason Lovecraft
Amazing pastries and sandwiches. The coffee could use some work. Waited for ten minutes for a coffee drink with nobody ahead of me in line.
AJ Burt
Twice baked chocolate-almond croissant is incredible!
Peter Anderson
I don't even know where to start. Everything I have had here is delicious. The seating is limited, so you may have to eat on the run unless you want to wait for people to leave.
Mia Vera
This place is phenomenal! So yummy. I love both their sweet & savory offerings. It's all about the quality.
Elsie Choi
Fresh coffee and great tasting pastries. Friendly and efficient staff always make me forget how busy they really get at times.

Akshay Ram

Ally Rigsby
This is THE bakery in capital hill. Fresh and amazing. Caramel apple tart is to die for and the other treats are just....drool...
Jon Lee
Delicious croissants and proper espresso. There is fast service here even though they are busy in the mornings.
Nicole Black
Pastries are very European flavored (not overly sweet at all), light 'dough' as well!
David Montero
Pastries are good, but shelves are not always well-stocked. Can get super busy and there is very little room to sit.
Richard Browder
Always just the most delightful pastries and they have a light and dark roast espresso bean for your latte
pratyusha mungara
Must try the double baked crossoint here. It is heavenly. Not the place you want to count calories 😬 …
Jamie Houston
If there was anonymous addict group for pastry eaters, this would be the kryptonite they'd all fear. You can't go wrong with the food (or drinks)
Yana Denisenko
Yummy! 😋 Best bakery in the area! Great freshest pastries (croissants are the must) 😎 …
Jessica Yuan
My favorite bakery so far. Good coffee and great service as well.
Ethan Mertz
Nouveau is kind of fancy word for bread, but I like the nouveau that this place puts out just the same.
Chris Paxton
Great pastries and sandwiches. Really like the ham and cheese on baguette-- bread here is great.
rachel simpson
Absolutely scrumptious Croissants! If you visit during the busy hours, be prepared to wait. Worth the wait~
Alanna Youngblood
This bakery is incredible. If you’re in Seattle don’t hesitate to drive across the city if you need to... seriously.
Tewfik Boulenouar
World class. Go to the Burien location. The sourly, unfriendly manager of the Capitol Hill's store will ruin your experience.
Charles
Outstanding selection of French favorites, great service, you know it's a good place when the line goes out the door, service was good, they take the time to make sure you are able to buy all the items you want.
Erwin Chung
ooooh, the double baked chocolate croissant of just flat out delicious! In general, their pastries are pretty good!
Jeff Katten
Best pastries in Seattle... but be prepared for a small space. It gets crowded on the weekends and especially on holidays or long weekends.
