I enjoy how close this A LA MODE pies location is to Woodland park Zoo. I always make it a point to stop in for a slice or two of pie when we visit the zoo. I enjoy that it’s right across the street from the west woodland playground as well. We can spend all day in this area of Seattle. We will start with a visit to the zoo. Next we will eat our lunch in the woodland park rose garden. After that we will walk over to West woodland playground for some playtime. Finally we will grab some pie after to take home as a treat, gotta save the best for last. On a hot summer day the kids will opt for some of their yummy ice cream. They always have amazing customer service and the pie selection is broad, something for everyone. I love their French apple pie with the crumbles, lemon meringue, and blue Hawaiian. The sour cherry is also a good option! A la Mode Pies has been voted as Seattle’s favorite pie shop since 2009. I highly recommend a visit, it’s also nice to support a small business who truly deserves it. Enjoy!

We opted for pie instead of cake for our wedding, and A la Mode was the perfect choice. The tasting we had in advance was delicious, payment & communication were both easy and quick, and delivery on the day of went off without a hitch. They even provide elegant & classy pie stands, so you don't have to worry about a thing. And their apple pie is SO delicious. Would recommend!

When you just have to have pie and you happen to be in Seattle, this is the place. Almost always the service is friendly, just one time I think the counter person was having an off day. But really, go for the pie! My all-time favorite is the Star-Spangled Sour Cherry. My pal likes the Key Lime. There’s plenty to choose from in this tiny but mighty place. Such a treat.

We ordered a few pies for our wedding and had a great experience - email communication was quick and easy, we paid in advance via invoice, and pickup was simple. The pies were amazing and held up really well (we picked up on Sunday and didn’t eat until Tuesday). Group favorite was Marionberry but it was fun to sample a bunch of flavors. Highly recommend!

Heavenly pies and wonderful selection. You can make any of their fruit pies vegan, and they've mastered vegan pie crusts. I recommend the apple and peach (photo - right) pies. The key lime (photo - left) pie is beautifully presented but could be perfected by making it more tart and less sweet. Looking forward to them trying their hand at a vegan key lime pie. <3

This place has AMAZING pies. We ordered slices of White Chocolate Banana, Bourbon Butterscotch and Pumpkin Pie, they were very filling and absolutely delicious. The crust is perfect and you can taste all the spices in Pumpkin Pie, white chocolate goes well with banana. Specially the Bourbon Butterscotch is very very delicious and my Fav. Go and grab one ...Bourbon Butterscotch is a MUST TRY. Pumpkin Pie is also tasty as seasonal grab.

Always get my Thanksgiving pies from A La Mode and they have always been great except for this year unfortunately. My apple pie had raw dough and very undercooked almost raw apples. Not sure what happened but I'm sure it's just due to the crazy rush around Thanksgiving. Still love this place though.

Happened to drive by this gem today and popped in for *a slice* and walked out with four hand pies. The staff was kind, courteous and bubbled warmth. Can’t wait to order their pecan tart for thanksgiving. Oh and the four mini pies were the bees knees.

Great pies if you actually receive what you've ordered, and not what's available in the store. The order was put in advance, they ran out of those pies and offered a cheaper pie instead. I understand things happen, but it should have been handled differently.

Always a treat! The Sour Cherry is a staple, the smoked coconut cream is unbelievable too! Lots of seasonal options and their home made ice cream is a must have if that's your thing :)

Tasty pies but rather overpriced. I got to take a pie making class with Chris which was really fun... But you don't actually get to make the pies yourself. Most of the dough and filling was premade and you just roll the dough and put on the crust. Definitely a fun experience and the pie I took home was phenomenal but I thought it was very overpriced

We picked up a Hawaiian pie (Blueberry, pineapple & coconut) for desert at the ocean, and ordered a "White chocolate banana cream" pie for pick up (48 hours advance order). Each pie was awesome and very tasty. The folks here were very friendly and helpful in our our decision. P.S.- I think I failed to true express how awesome the Banana Cream pie is...or should I say was :)

Real tasty pies. The crusts are great compliments to the sugary goodness they contain. It's a quaint little shop and opens long enough to satisfy those later night sweets cravings. Also it's within walking distance of the Woodland Zoo in case you need to wash out the salty snacks with some sugar

First I want to give 5 stars for the pie. Not disappointed at it. I want to give 0 stars for the lady who works at Phinney store. First I thought she was having a bad day but I’ve been there many times and every time I am treated so poorly. I used to buy it every week but I got so tired of her behavior that I just buy it when my husband really wants a slice. She does not say thank you, she does not smile, or does not answer when someone says thank you. She is always rolling her eyes and one time she said to the person in front of me: You going to order or what? She is mid 40’s and the only person working there with this attitude. You have the best pie in town but the worse employee in town as well so please be kind. No one wants to deal with your bad mood, we just want to buy a pie!

One of my favorite pie places in Phinney. Years ago I came here to taste the coconut cream pie and compare it to Tom Douglas's. And you know what? This is definitely better. Now you can only get the coconut pie on the weekends, but their other pies are worth a taste anytime. Blue Hawaiian is fruity and sweet; Mexican Chocolate is spicy, smooth, and chocolatey; and both versions of the apple pie are super tasty.

Pies - yes they're great as always. My experience today as a customer - no. Went in today to pick up some pies for a friend. Walked in with no greeting but rather was asked what I was looking for when I was looking for the menu. Then when I was looking at the available pies, I can clearly see the person working in the front giving a look to a co-worker as if I'm acting suspicious and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. My whole interaction with this person was unpleasant from beginning to end, even when asking a simple question of whether they had a certain flavor available. Maybe it's been a string of recent events they've had to deal with, but I'll stick with the stores I'm familiar with.

We love their pies. Customer service is lacking but who cares. Their pies are like a warm hug from your aunt during the holidays. Fresh, light, with a true homemade taste. Try the Oreo, coconut cream or caramel pecan pie when available.

Mexican Chocolate is my favorite flavor. I'm a connoisseur and very particular about the flavor/heat ratio. A la Mode Pies has it down to *chef's kiss* perfection. That alone won my loyalty, but they also have great service, generous portions, and a menu full of pie and non-pie options. Such a joy to have this place in the neighborhood!

Pies get 5/5. Hands down the best in Seattle. Have to dock a couple points on logistics and operations. First year we ordered with them they gave our pies to another customer. Second time this year they lost one of our pies. Made the second one quickly but there was hair on it. We'll probably go somewhere else, or try the team in West Seattle.

Their pies are insanely expensive, but probably the best you will find in Seattle, and maybe even the entire state, so worth it if you need good pies and don't want to make your own. Deduct 1 star because they don't answer the phone or emails. Maybe overwhelmed with the holidays, but still an issue. Order online and pick up works well.

Been coming here for a number of years, but had an oddly unpleasant experience today. We ordered a chai latte and two slices of pie (Mexican Chocolate and Cookies and Cream). The latte was almost entirely milk with next to no chai to be found. Our two pie slices, fresh from the display case, were both still partially frozen - I don't know if they have the fridge set too cold or what, but biting into what you expect to be cloud-soft whipped cream and finding ice is extremely disappointing (especially at $8 a slice). The slices also seem to be smaller than the last time I was here. I don't know if the pandemic has affected their business more substantially than it seems, but I may be considering other pie options if this is the quality/price A La Mode is now providing.

My mom visited me in Seattle this week for one of the first times in the seven years I've been here. I wanted to show her the best of the best. A La Mode is my go-to dessert place. They make the best key lime pie I've ever had in my entire life, and I am a conossieur, trust me. I thought I used to like cake more until I found this place. Usually because it's so popular I have to place an order for the whole pie to ensure it will be there for me. When I showed up to pick up my pie, the dude in front was mortified and realized there wasn't one left and I had prepaid. He offered me a pick of the pie in the display case, we chose Summer Peach - DELICIOUS, told me to email the general manager, and stamped the rest of my stamp cards for next time with a plethora of heartfelt apologies. I emailed Chris, the GM, when I got home last night. This man, you guys. THIS MAN. First thing this morning I got a call from Chris who was so apologetic and sweet and kind, I've been a huge fan and customer for a long time so I was thrilled and honored when he offered to !!hand deliver!! a key lime pie to me the same day. I've never had anyone go so far and above and beyond to correct a silly mistake. This could have been handled so many ways and I really appreciate the grace with which it was handled, it really made me feel like I mattered as a customer. 10/5 stars for the pie 20/5 stars for the customer service You guys rock. Keep making pies, I'll keep eating em, and I'll keep recommending you profusely. Truly a Seattle staple that has earned its place to be here permanently just as much as Canlis.

We visited A la Mode Pies on Phinney Ridge to seek out dessert options for our wedding. We arranged a free tasting and were amazed and delighted by the number of pies we were able to try (16 slices!). There was an impressive range of sweet and tart, light and rich. You could tell there was so much care and talent put into the pies and Chris was an absolutely delight to meet. He listened to our needs and helped us set up an order of exactly what we wanted for the wedding: the spiced apple and the marionberry. Both pies were a hit at the wedding and our guests couldn't stop raving about them. The apple pie, in particular, was a mountain of fruit that provided a beautiful display on our dessert table in addition to being delicious. We absolutely recommend A la Mode Pies!

This place is a great finding! Their sweet cakes are never too fat, never oversweetened, always perfectly fresh. Knowing from own experience that there is a tiny chance to come by a place serving quality desserts in the US, I could say that every A la Mode's customer is a lucky person:) My must-try favorites are lime key and strawberry cheesecake though I would recommend all cakes I've tried there. The service is nice and friendly, too

It was a short visit on a very busy day, but the staff was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, everyone seemed to be enjoying the incredible-looking pies of every variety... and my Florida-raised husband thought the key lime was excellent! The only downside for me was there wasn't anything for the dairy-allergic - but I can hardly fault them for making delicious pie crust with delicious butter 🙂

Excellent pies! No cheap fillers in them & great crusts too! Usually has the usual flavors as well as some unusual combinations, but chances are better for that it seems, in the summer when fresh fillings would be easier to obtain. Would definitely recommend! Worth a special trip even if you’re not close by!

Everything in the case looks beautiful, but surprisingly can be hit/miss. Blue Hawaiian seems more like a gimmicky pie than a great pie combo. It's good, but it's not amazing. What IS amazing is the sour cherry pie, especially since a lot of cherry pies you find are the regular sweet kind. Butterscotch pie meh. Peanut butter pie amazing. So - hit/miss. But the good stuff is great.

We were taking my grandson to the zoo and found out that they were closing due to a charity event. On our way back to the car, we noticed A la Mode Pies directly across the street. We went in and were warmly greeted by the staff as we entered. The pie selection is impressive, in that, they have something for everybody. We ordered our pies and coffee drinks and were promptly served some of the best pie that I have ever tasted as well as some of the best coffee that we had in Seattle. It is kind of off the beaten path but worth the trek!!

This is a really adorable little pie shop, everything is home made and you can even get a decent coffee here. But the pies themselves are quite special. they have all kinds of fantastic options, and mini pies are also available for purchase if you dont have alot of mouths to feed.

The fruit pies we had here were outstanding. Marionberry hazelnut was intensely flavorful from the complexity of the berries and finished with hazelnut in the crust like a sophisticated variation on PB&J. The cherries for the cherry pie were clearly tart ones pitted individually and not canned filling. I also compared their Blue Hawaiian pie to a recipe I found online. I could taste the pineapple more clearly in their version and the ratio of roasted coconut to streusel was better than the clone attempt. We ate off of these pies for several meals in succession. I only wish I had visited the other location for savory pie too.

Decent place for pie and coffee. Almost all of the pies had run out by the time we arrived but we were happy with the white chocolate banana cream pie. This place is constantly flooded with people coming in to collect their orders. Nice street view from within the place. Very good location.

The pies are so good here! I got a slice of the chocolate peanut butter mousse pie and the cherry pie, and then a whole mexican chocolate mousse pie. First two were divine. The Mexican chocolate pie is good too, but the cayenne pepper was just strong enough to distract a little from the chocolate... but still so so yummy.

We visited while we were in Seattle on a recommendation from the place we were staying. Absolutely amazing service and excellent pies. We tried the Strawberry Rhubarb and the Chocolate Mousse and recommend both. Definitely a place to check out in the Seattle area and we look to go back next time we are in town.

Homemade pie! Huge slices! A teensy bit pricy, but very worth it. You can taste the real peanut-buttery love in the chocolate peanut butter cream pie. The marionberry is berrylicious and a bit tart—goes great a la mode! Next time we’ll have to try the blue Hawaiian (blueberry with pineapple?!?! YUM.) Highly recommend.

A la Mode has some really great pies!! My son and I love the Marionberry, while my husband likes the Peanutbutter pie! That said, I was really disappointed pre-thanksgiving when I called to order a pie and was not given clear information. Then I came in the following morning and was only given 3 pie options (not the ones I wanted) and paid 40.00 dollars instead of 29.00!! That was not a great experience!!

OH MY GOSH the freaking Marionberry & Hazelnut!!! Their pies evoke the kind of imagery of someone placing a huge, homemade pie on a windowsill, all thick and perfectly flakey. I am not going to convince myself that I could ever make my own pie, so I'll gladly settle for these people anytime of day. I tried the Sour Cherry and it was sour, so do yourself a favor and get it a la mode. :) An excuse for ice cream is the best kind of ice cream you can get! Also, the ice cream is iceeey. These people do it right. I will make it my business to drive up to Seattle to get this pie, man.

Charming pie and coffee shop. Who doesn't love dessert and they certainly have plenty of pie to go around. My suggestions if the Mexican Chocolate pie with a scoop of ice cream. Key lime is also excellent but feel free to ask the people behind the counter for suggestions. I mn addition to sliced and whole pies they also seeve these mini one person pies. Never tried one but they look delicious.

Ala mode pies is absolutely incredible. The atmosphere in both of their locations are so clean and fresh and the people are so friendly. The pies are simply amazing. I ordered the blue Hawaiian pie for my family and absolutely loved it.

This is absolutely not your average pie place, in fact, it's really in a class of its own. If you're trying to eat the pie there though, you may run into trouble finding a seat. There are three small tables, so it is likely that you'll have to take it to go.
