Such a cute little place for Japanese desserts. We’ve had the ice cream and crepe cakes, both of which are always excellent. Every time we’ve gone the entire staff has been so friendly and accommodating, even during busy times. Local places like these are such a bright spot in our community. Keep up the great work, Doki Doki crew—we love you!

Cute and chill place! Clean, self order kiosk, cute artwork up. We came a couple hours before closing, and most of the items were out, so come earlier if you want a greater selection. Staff was friendly. Food (we ordered crepe cakes, ice cream, taiyaki fishes, and ube coffee drink) was good! Limited parking in the back. Looking forward to coming back earlier in the day to try out their other items.

If you ever wanted Japanese desserts while in Salt Lake City Utah, I would recommend that you try this place out. Friendly staff and aesthetically pleasing and tasty desserts. My favorite from this visit was the Sakura Crepe cake and wished I had more chances to try their other offerings.

Place was cute and the service was great. We purchased each flavor of the taiyaki, they were good but the custard was the best. We also purchased a slice of the pistachio/raspberry crepe cake. It was delightful, definitely worth the try.

This was our second time coming here. The first time being right after they first opened, which was a mad house with long waiting lines. On the weekend day we went in the afternoon, there was a short wait and the desserts were brought out promptly. We tried a crackling panda cream puff, a strawberry filled donut, a passion fruit crepe cake, and a mixed soda drink called Tigers Blood. It was all so good. Went again recently and tried a the Nutella donut and a pistachio raspberry crepe cake

Very good. We had a pretty good variety of different treats. I had a peach Ombre drink that was very good. The crepe cakes were tasty. We enjoyed our Tayaki. The jiggle cakes were very jiggly as advertised but also interesting to me texture wise but my daughter loved them. We did learn that the creme brulee is a light egg flavored custard and would have opted for an original or ube or something sweeter BUT they replaced the cakes with a fair replacement and took good care of us. It was a fun visit and the passion fruit crepe cake was our favorite treat.

First time visiting a place which consists of only desserts and it was so delicious. Ordered a blueberry crepe cake and it was so delicious, that I just couldn't stop eating. The texture of the crepe cake was so good. There are a different flavors of crepe cakes available, so need to try them all some other time. The place is small with a lot of anime references. People with knowledge of anime will have a good time here. The ice cream was yummy as well. Taste - 5/5 Ambience- 4.5/5 since I like anime Overall- 5/5 Definitely a must visit place to try the crepe cake slice.

Cute little Japanese dessert place in downtown. Finding parking is little difficult considering its location. Tried Taiyaki ice cream and crepe cake its my first time trying these desserts and really liked them. Presentation is too good.

Crepe cakes were lovely, light, and not overly sweet. Honestly not my preferred type of dessert (I like strong flavors) but I understand it’s a personal preference. I preferred the passion fruit cake, you could taste the flavor of the crepes in it unlike the chocolate cake. The textures of both cakes were lovely! I wish the passion fruit topping went edge-to-edge on the top of the cake. Even though some was mixed in the filling, the balance of flavors was much better in the bites with the topping. I didn’t taste Nutella in the Chocolate Nutella cake which was disappointing. My expectations would have been better managed if they just called it a chocolate cake.

Found this place after searching for desserts in downtown Salt Lake City. Small place with about 8 tables. Came in on a Saturday late afternoon and was not crowded. I must've been lucky though as shortly after sitting down, there were about 8 people in line. Cashier was very friendly and helpful. Ordered a little bit of everything to try. Living in Japan for many years, it's always good to try Japanese restaurants and bakeries in the US cities. Ordered the blossom crepe, strawberries and cream crepe, mango crepe cake, mango cookie, and tiger blood hombre drink. She immediately brought out the crepe cake and cookie since they were already made. Although already made, they still tasted very fresh, soft, and delicious. The layers of the crepe cake were amazing and impressively thin. Tasted of fresh mango and not mango flavoring. Within 10 minutes, the crepes arrived. They were plated and presented with an amazing level of detail and perfection. Just like in Japan, the presentation is everything. Just as good as the presentation was the taste. Both crepes were very good and I wouldn't say one was my favorite. Both were equally as good, it came down to what taste you preferred. The hombre drink was a mix of watermelon, strawberries, and coconut. I particularly enjoyed the fresh coconut flakes and the strawberry pieces. I'd highly recommend coming here for desserts, especially if you're in the mood for Japanese desserts. The level of detail was equally matched with the tastes.

Cute little spot for dessert. I did a quick take out of their famous passion fruit crepe slice. I got there 10 mins before closing. The lady at the counter was very friendly and patiently advised me on their various dessert options. I had a little difficulty in finding a parking spot. They are located on E 400 S Which was very busy at that time and was going through some construction work.

Wanted to try the cake made of crepes. The texture was unexpected. Kinda like eating a sponge. Didn't enjoy it. Also had they egg yolk Vietnamese coffee. That was nice.

This was great! We went in Saturday night after Pride, the place was pretty full, but it was quick to order and pay at the kiosk and we were able to get a table for the four of us. Cute decor inside, and the dessert was excellent. We had two taiyaki, one matcha and one chocolate, which were both killer. The taiyaki themselves were filled, mine with a chocolate, maybe Nutella filling. Fantastic. I love the warm waffle with the cold ice cream. My partner got the banana caramel crepe cake, which was super delicious. Not overly sweet, no artificial banana nastiness, really great. We'll definitely come back next time we're in the area and want some sweets.

Great desserts if you love Japanese vibes. I say this because their desserts are not drowning in sweetness and sugar but this is exactly what you can expect for Japanese desserts. I had the house special fluffy pancakes and loved how fluffy they were and the lemon custard filling was my favorite part. I also tried the blossom crepes and the coconut sticky rice was delicate and well done and complimented the kiwi and passion fruit well. Not a super sweet dessert but very delicate and didn’t leave you feeling heavy and full. Fresh fruits were included on both desserts and this was definitely noted. Added later: the taiyaki ice creams are my favorite. Each flavor I’ve tried so far has blown me away, the chocolate is great, strawberry, passion fruit. I’m eager to try matcha. The crepe cake is also amazing. Loved the berry flavor.

Though expensive, I can't fault a place that offers such a unique and authentic dessert experience. We went on a Tuesday evening and it was packed. Ordering is done on a kiosk. It seemed like it would have been faster to have an employee take orders, as it seemed to take each patron minutes to figure out the ordering. They have a variety of crepe cakes, cream puffs, and drinks. Some items were out since we were there shortly before they closed. We tried the oreo crepe cake and it was about $10 for a slice. It was absolutely delicious, thankfully. Tons of flavor and amazing texture. Felt very fresh, and was served with homemade whipped cream and fresh fruit. The shop has a few normal tables and a few Japanese-style tables where you sit on a mat on the floor (experienced Ikea shoppers will spot them as dog beds, lol). Very neat space, though!

Fun experience at Doki Doki! I've been wanting to try them out for a long time since seeing a post on TikTok about it. Love that there's a Japanese Dessert option, and such a cute location. Love the anime decor and the cute little seating area on the deck in the building. I forget the names of the dishes, but we all enjoyed what we had 👍

Such a cute place!! We came for the taiyaki ice cream and it was delicious! I ordered the passion fruit and wow, it was so flavorful! I loved the sitting area where you could take your shoes off and sit on cushions to enjoy your dessert. The owner was so sweet. The whole family loved it! We’ll definitely be visiting again soon!

Amazing new find for us! The Mille crepe cakes are like fluffy heaven and the craqueline cream puffs are deliciously creative too! Can’t wait to try this place again next time I’m in town.

Came here w/ Willyum’s fam and my goodness are they foodies. What we ordered and our feelings: Bischoff crepe cake — this was our least favorite thing we had. It was sweet and yummy, but everything else was much yummier. Passion fruit crepe cake — the passion fruit spread was the the yummiest thing to me. This was one of my favorite desserts ever. The crepes could have more flavor, but the texture was light and paired perfectly with the powerful passion fruit. Raspberry pistachio crepe cake — this was super delish. No ones fave, but if you like this combo it was great. Tigers blood ombre drink — this was so yummy. It was Willyum’s favorite. It did have a very candy-like flavor, but we enjoyed it. We added boba to ours. The drink Millers ordered, but couldn’t remember: SIL ordered a drink w/it jelly in it and we didn’t like the jelly, but the drink was good. The flavor could not be identified. Some chocolate ice cream thing with a fish cracker on it — the ice cream was creamy and delicious. It was Willyum’s other favorite. The fish crackers were really fish waffles and they were soooo delicious. The chocolate one was meh, but the other one was like regular waffle with boston cream like filling and we wished we had 50 of those.

This was our second visit to Doki Doki. The passion fruit mango taiyaki was our favorite. The Ube fluffy pancakes with the bright purple I've and green kiwi made for a really good flavor combo. All around great place to stop for a treat. Parking in the back.

Delicious food. It was well worth the drive. We tried several different items. I didn't get a picture of the taiyaki because they were quickly devoured. I couldn't believe how friendly and helpful all the staff was. I'm pretty sure I found my new favorite dessert place!

Doki Doki is a GEM! I have been here a handful of times and I’ve never been disappointed! Below is pictures of the crepe cake and taiyaki oreo ice cream sundae with Nutella and chocolate sauce! It is a small little shop, but if you walk to the back they have more seating (including outdoor seating that is heated in the winter). A fun switch up from your typical ice cream shop!

If you’re looking for a fun dessert place for something other than ice cream, give this place a try! I preferred the passion fruit crepe cake slice because it really let the flavor of the crepes themselves to come through. The chocolate/Nutella crepe cake slice didn’t have a strong Nutella flavor. Great atmosphere.

Saw this on social media and stopped here while visiting Utah. The Crepe cake was incredible! Loved the mango sticky rice crepe - never had anything like that before. The fluffy pancakes melted in my mouth - soooo good!! On top of that, I loved the atmosphere. I will return with friends!!

Everything was wonderful. The pistachio filling was very tasty and so smooth. The peak a bo bear had such a good combination of textures with the cracklen on top of the pastry.

Taiyaki ice cream is amazing,, crepes are good..their cookies are yummy. Trying to get my hand on their moffles and pancakes but they tend to get sold out if going too late. Had the princess peach ombre drink and it was good. Cafe is small and sandwiched between two other shops so easy to miss. Really easy menu and they were quick and friendly!

Wow! I still have cravings for this. You can put dark chocolate syrup, Nutella, and biscoff cookie crumbles all on a soft serve ice cream with a crepe fish on top!?!? They also have some great other cake and crepe options that I will undoubtedly go back for. The passion fruit flavor will also slap you good.

Pretty neat place! I got the icecream and it was neat! With tip, I got 3 of them for $25. The mochi addition was a little disappointing but I make homemade mochi and thats my comparison 😂😅 I will try this place again. I really want to try the pancakes. I do hate the location though because downtown is the worst 😅 people forget how to drive down there 😅 otherwise, it's great!

I had the absolute pleasure of trying out the Doki Dokie Summer Collection. So many amazing new sweets and treats, it was hard to choose! 》I ordered the New Peach Taiyaki Ice Cream, These beautiful Pistachio and Orange Anise Crepes with Fresh Raspberries and Their Brand New Fluffy Pancake Parfait in the Passionfruit & Mango Flavor. 《 The Taiyaki Ice Cream was thick and Rich and so good with the fresh slices Peaches and Peach sauce. SOOOO Yummy! The Crepes were so light and thin, the Pistachio Cream was super flavorful and very Nostalgic. LOVED the orange sauce, I was really trying not to lick the plate. 🤣 The Fluffy Pancake Parfait was incredibly light, the Passionfruit Cream was super bright and gave an awesome balance to the sweet. 👏 Everything I tried was Phenomenal! Not only do they have their own free parking lot in Downtown SLC, unheard-of!! They have such a fun space for sitting, relaxing and enjoying all the wonderful treats they have to offer.

We used to love Doki Doki when everything was made from scratch with love. Their menu had a lot more options that looked and tasted heavenly. For the past year or so, their exquisite menu was scaled down gradually and now pretty much they have are their staple crepe cakes (still really good) and their latest cream puffs. And sadly, their yummy taiyaki ice cream with different flavors are not even available anymore. Seems like their new focus is toward catering to parties and subscription boxes. Not sure if it is worth the drive anymore to stop by.

My first time ever having a crepe cake! I was super intrigued on how a crepe cake would taste like, especially how my foodie friends loved chatting about this place and the wonderful flavors of the crepe cakes. I finally tasted the passion fruit crepe cake (I bought like four slices of it, makes up almost a cake size right?!). I’m (proudly) ashamed that I ate three of the four slices….hahaha! The passion fruit flavor is so wonderful and just gives your taste buds a party in your mouth! The cake itself is not super sweet, slightly sweet and the passion fruit gives it a perfect balance of tart to the slight sweetness, which really makes u just want to keep eating it and eating it - trying to come up with the perfect conjecture of what is exactly happening with this wonderful combination. The owner, Irie, is as sweet as they come! Super friendly and just so down to earth! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting her when she came up to an event in Orem and in Pleasant Grove. Visited the store front once and looking forward to the next!

Updated Review: I am writing to inform whom it may concern, that I need to modify my regretfully uninformed critique of this fine establishment’s delicatessens. The strawberry cream puff donut is superb, astonishing, and fresh beyond expectation. The peak-a-boo bear cream puff was too good to be captured in film, except for rare, once in a lifetime appearances. The passion fruit Taiyaki ice cream dips effortlessly with the Tsushima Strait inspired fish shaped waffle, that mixes to a grander sum of its components. Despite their aversion to human ordering mechanisms, this establishment deserves a retraction of a review fit for an American diner, and supplanted with a full-fledged 4 star review (pending replacement of self-ordering kiosk). Original Review: Came for ice cream, but they were out of ice cream. 1 Star.

The food was so delicious! Sadly there were a lot of items they didn't have when we got there (like taiyaki), but, the food we got was absolutely wonderful! We got a slice of crepe cake and some ice cream. Both were very delicious! The crepes were so incredibly thing and well made; they were so silky and simply amazing to enjoy. The owner gifted us some cream puffs when she found out that we were coming for some treats after my daughter’s cardiology appointment at Primary children’s. everything we tried was so fresh and delicious!! We had the ube crepe cake, passion fruit crepe cake, and pandan coconut crepe cake! They were all amazing, but the passion fruit was our favorite! We will be back and we will definitely tell all of our friends!

The food probably deserves 5 stars, but the way you have to interact with the store is abysmal. No matter what, you have to use a kiosk with no help from staff unless they happen to wander by. When things in the display case were labeled buy 1 get 1 free, but the system didn't allow you to request it, when the clerk came by finally, she said that had changed hours ago to buy 2 get 1 free. When we pointed out the sign, she ignored it. Terrible way to get some tasty treats. Be prepared to have to fight to get something rather than discussing with staff to understand what different items are. If staff wander by, they are helpful. But they have to wander by.

Our first visit here, ordered our food through the kiosk. All our items were on our table on less than 15 minutes.the staff were friendly. The deserts we're phenomenal, especially the the cheese cake with the ube syrup. Best dessert we've had in a while. Definitely recommend

This place had the best rolled ice cream and I’m really bummed they got rid of it! I went with a group though, and can speak on there opinions on other parts of the menu: Fish Biscuit Ice Cream: the proper Japanese word is escaping me right now, sorry! However, really good soft serve with an alright fish biscuit. My friend thought it was good, but found the fish biscuit a little overwhelming. Crepe: My friend felt overwhelmed by the amount of stuff and filling in their crepe, but enjoyed it nonetheless. Aesthetic is everything here, and it’s a really cute cafe. Just wish the location had more space and parking. Otherwise, a great place for any weeb and/or dessert lover! Only three stars because they removed what is everyone favorite part of the menu.

Cozy place with a cute aesthetic, and nice, welcoming staff. We ordered a coffee dalgona, matcha dalgona with boba, an ube crepe cake, and fluffy pancakes. The dalgona's were overly sweet, to a point where we couldn't finish them. The crepe cake as well as the fluffy pancakes tasted overwhelmingly of eggs and we couldn't taste their original flavors. Totaled around $34 with tip, and most of the food we ordered went unfinished.

Tonight I went in for the first time! I ordered the passionfruit crepe cake with vanilla ice cream, and a slice of the pistachio raspberry crepe cake with the cinnamon comb ice cream! Every single thing was insanely delicious. I'm beyond impressed! Everything tasted just as beautiful as it looked. Customer service was so super friendly and quick too!

The staff was super friendly that deserved a 5 welcoming and helpful. However, this rating is on would I come back and would I recommend. Doki Doki is not a place I would have sought out had it not been for my kid wanting to come here. Crepes were ok, the Fluffy pancakes were good, both were nice appearance wise. If you're in SLC and you like Spirited Away stop by if not pass.

The desserts are yummy and the atmosphere is cute, but they said there would be an hour long wait for fluffy pancakes, which is absolutely ridiculous. But, I ordered a raspberry and rose ice cream, which was actually a delightful flavor combination!

Very great place. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially great for casual get outs, would be nice for a date. The staff was very friendly, the location is nice, nicely decorated, the food came out quick. This crepe was not expensive and came out looking like this. Very beautiful, the flavors were superb despite me ordering a basic one. Very perfect crepe, all around great place and I would recommend.

5/5 for everything except finding this place! There isn’t a sign outside for it so at first I wasn’t sure where it was but thankfully the metal doki sign was visible from outside (if you’re close enough) and we were able to find it. Overall, really fun experience and the desserts here are top notch and reasonably priced.

A great place for dessert! I've tried a lot of the items on the menu and none have ever disappointed me. The only thing that really disappoints me is the "McDonald's style" ordering kiosk. It's super slow and most people are confused on how to use it, which really slows everything down.

I can't express how much I love Doki Doki. I've been to the shop countless times and have enjoyed their selections. I'm not one for cakes, but went with a Crepe cake for my wedding. Everyone enjoyed a bite, and actually had two servings of cake. We went with the pandan flavor with two tiers. The cake was served on time and arrived without any issues. Doki Doki is one of the best spots to hang in SLC and I love supporting my local business - especially love the fun anime decor inside.

What great dessert. I contacted them little late to reserve one of the crepe slices and they responded very fast. I had the tiramisu with dark cocoa one. It tasted really good. They also have different delicious dessert to try. I would try the toast next time. They open around 5 pm during week days and I recommend going early if you want to try the crepe slice.

I stopped in specifically for the crepe cake. It was a nice environment, and the cake was exceptional. It was pretty expensive overall, but it was fresh, and light. Of you hate how excessively sweet most cake is, then the crepe cake is the ideal choice.

Overall the place is great, staff was very friendly, it was a meeting place for few of my friends, it was kind of them to let me wait without having to order anything. Finally friends came a lil late and we ordered a few different types of ice creams. I would like to say, they prepare it in front of you, and it is so amazing to see the process. I ordered the Princess Peach with Boba drink and the Taiyaki (vanilla soft serve) with lemon filling, passion fruit sauce, biscoff crumbles and Pocky garnish. The drink with it's sparkly limeade base, sweet fruity flavor, and chewy boba was refreshing. The Takiyaki waffle was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The lemon filling was sweet and creamy while the passion fruit added a tangy tartness to the rich vanilla bean frozen yogurt. The biscoff cookies were crumbled just right and added some great texture to the otherwise creamy dessert. I will definitely be back!!

Well my first thought was we were at the wrong place when I walked in and there was just a gentleman sitting at a podium taking orders. No ice cream anywhere in sight. There are ice cream menus though. We proceeded to order, based off of what sounded good. Prices are actually very reasonable $6-$7considering the time and effort and the art that goes into making these delicious ice cream cups. I have never seen rolled ice cream didn't know what it was. So after a minute of walking around I was able to find out where they make their creations. These handcrafted rolled ice cream of art, are definitely something you want to check out if you never have. The ice cream stays very cold and very delicious down to the last bite I don't think mine melted whatsoever in 93-degree. I am a big fan and definitely will return.

Today was my first time coming here and I am in love. The quality of the dessert is phenomenal and the atmosphere of the building is amazing. If you're staying to eat I would reccomend sitting at the window or in the cubby if you can manage.

Let’s just say, it makes a pretty picture. We went here to try something new and though it was an “OKAY” experience there’s a lot we didn’t know by going there. So for all the ppl going there for the first time PLEASE READ. First, be on the lookout for parking. Apparently this location is hard to find and parking is limited. Second, the moment you walk in there will be a big white Kiosk that you will have to order from and then you can self-seat if there are any seats available. The place is small and there are no signs telling you what to do when you get there. The workers didn’t give any instruction and just walked past us and another family before us a few times and didn’t say anything at all. Next, the name you put down on your order is what they will call out and deliver to your table. Lastly, no orders are actually taken by staff, this is all orderable online or by kiosk only. We tried the White Chocolate Ube Taiyaki with Biscoff Crumbs and a Macaron & had the Hibiscus drink. The drink was too sweet for me & I didn’t realize it was a soda versus juice. The Taiyaki was alright but it literally just tasted like Vanilla Ice cream and warm pancake!! So it was alright for us but we won’t be going back..

Thanks to Doki Doki, this year my birthday cake was bespoke. It was truly the best cake I have ever had in my entire life. If you have never had a crepe cake before then I highly encourage you to take a number and get in line! You will savor every bite and then desire even more. Their offering of flavors is curated and inspired, the establishment is clean and well located, and the staff was friendly. The picture shown is not from inside the bakery, but I found the presentation of these cake slices to be sublime!

This place rocks!! The icecream is amazing and can be altered any way you want, but what made this experience so good for us were the employees. My husband and I went here for dessert for our first year wedding anniversary with some family members visiting from out of town. We had mentioned in passing that it was our anniversary, and thought nothing of it. A few minutes into our icecream (I recommend the frostbite - delicious!), one of the ladies who had made our icecream came out with a huge crepe filled with icecream and fruit (on the menu this is "The Honeymoon") as an on-the-house treat for our anniversary. Totally made our night! Thank you for the wonderful surprise and generosity for our anniversary, it really meant a lot to us that you took the time to do that. We will absolutely be back!

Had heard this place was one of the best Japanese dessert places in town, but I really didn't get the hype. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either. Granted maybe I need to go back and try a few more items on their menu, but I mostly left the restaurant disappointed with my order. Food & Presentation I ordered the custard tayaki with the taro ice cream and biscoff cookie mix-in. The taro ice cream tasted good and the biscoff cookie was a great addition, but they really missed the mark with the tayaki. The tayaki is made open (which I have never seen before) and so, therefore, there isn't very much custard in it, and it's already pretty small, to begin with. Thinking that this was only due to the esthetics of the fish being in the ice cream I ordered two single taiyakis and they both were just as small and open as well. I also noticed when I got home that I had been overcharged and paid 14 bucks for 2 taiyakis when in reality 14 bucks would have gotten me 4 single taiyakis. The presentation though I will say is their saving grace. Having the fish be on top of and "eating" the ice cream was very creative. Vibe and Service The vibe of the restaurant is great, but nothing to brag about necessarily. I do love their decor and the little nook they have on the left-hand side so that people can eat on the floor. I also thought the area near the windows with sitting pillows was a good touch. The service was good! I'll have to go back and try some other items on the menu and update this review, but honestly, my first experience there doesn't really make me want to go back, unfortunately.

Came from Lehi to try the “crepe cake” and apparently they don’t always make them. You’d think on a Friday night they’d have them. Tried a regular crepe and it was ok, but I wouldn’t come back for that. Also… it’s mid June 2021, can we drop the whole requiring a mask to order, then take them off 5 feet away when you sit down? It’s a silly ritual at this point.

Doki Doki is a hidden salt lake city gem. Absolutely love everything that I've ordered here and always look forward to going back. Highly suggest the pancakes, it's like eating a cloud. The taiyaki is also very tasty and I appreciate the customization options. Since everything is made fresh to order, there is a 5-10 minute wait for each item, but the atmosphere of the cafe is nice to sit in and time flies by.

YUM!!!! Most unique and fun crepes I have had! I had the Blossom and my daughter had the Hazel and we both thoroughly enjoyed them! They were a little pricey but the portion was huge. Prepare to wait a while but it is super worth it! Also - be sure to check out the parking map that is on their website. The free parking during the day is behind the actual building. There are signs everywhere so you don't get booted or towed. They were sold out of their Japanese butter cookies which they told me is typical for Saturdays so I will be going back early in the week next week (as recommended) to try those! Also tried the Tropical Paradise ombre drink which was amazing. You're missing out if you don't try this place!

Havent had a spot wow me for a while and this one has wowed me. I got the pink blush japaneese crepe which consisted of a marbled crepe filled with nutella assembled as an ice cream cone filled with whipped cream, strawberries, cheesecake (yes cheesecake!!!), and topped off with chocolate ice cream then you have a choice of unlimited toppings!! I picked chocolate chips and oreo. This concoction was amazing initially i was spooning off heaps of chocolate ice cream with cheesecake then when i got deep enough i was tearing off the wrapper and biting into it like you would an ice cream cone and a delight of textures and flavors was coming through between the soft delicous crepe, whipped cream, nutella,strawberries, cheesecake,molten ice creamm.. boy i was in heaven. The crazy part is this whole thing was 6.99!! And its so damn filling. To put things into contrast waffle love would sell you a waffle with only 3 toppings for $10 and its not as filling or good. My sister got the sweetheart rolled ice cream and we watched them crush strawberries and oreos and incorporate them into vanilla ice cream over a cold top then rolling it all together unlimited toppings on this as well! She went with kitkat and m&ms. 6.99 as well. We also got the oolong milk tea iced with tirimasu foam on top. This was different but so darn good, the foam is so heavy and delicious you have to tilt the drink 45 degrees when drinking it for the tea to come through and mix with the foam its so delicious. Recommend this place for sure check it out its a hidden gem in SLC. Parking is tricky and tough to find though.

My husband got the takiyaki and that is what I would suggest. It takes 20min to make but it is really yummy and highly customizable. Just moved to Utah a few month ago and found this nice place for some Japanese style desserts. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff but most of all very delicious desserts! The wait time can be a bit longer sometime when it gets busy but they usually come earlier than they have estimated. Saw some negative reviews lately mask policy and the place out of certain desserts option, these reviews don’t make the place look bad, they just make the writers seem entitled and ignored, come on Utah you can do better than this!

I was hooked after just one visit here! I had a taro taiyaki and it was absolutely phenomenal. AMAZING in all aspects. Every employee we talked to was very pleasant. There was a small malfunction with the payment screen, and even though it wasn’t a big deal, they gave both me and my partner a coupon for next time as well as a discount on our current order. I absolutely love this place. I come every other week, if not once a week. There is a wait time for your desserts, but most places that have good products have a wait time. It's not fast food, nothing is premade, it's made to order and a lot of people do not understand that. There is usually a sign on the estimated time you will have to wait for a specific menu item. The estimated time is also on their menus which can be found on instagram. I love how lively and fun the place is as well. Good food with good people.

The tiayaki is great. Lots of options to customize for just 6 bucks. We got there shortly after they opened and a lot of stuff was sold out but I think they get fresh stock in the late afternoon or evening. Wish they had an actual menu. The code thing didn't work for our phone. Maybe because they print it in light purple. Everything is made fresh so be prepared to wait for things that need to be cooked. Doki Doki is a fantastic space with some of the best desserts in the valley. I have been going since they opened a few years back and they always are so delicious, with my personal favorite being their crepe cakes. Yes, they still have a mask policy due to high risk family members. If you're immature enough to think that's a personal attack go somewhere else, they don't need your entitled attitude

This place is an amazing hidden gem. They offer the rolled ice cream in various themes and flavors. What's even more amazing is that they put additional toppings on it that goes with the theme of ice cream you get. Anything from mini cookies, to cheesecake. What I liked as well was that they have started adding a couple options for vegans as far as the base "ice cream" but it was kinda limited on what they put for toppings since there isn't much out there to substitute. Still, I was very happy with my choice and my family was impressed by theirs. It's hard to see from the road but you have to give them a try and you won't be disappointed. The service was spot on and the guy that served us was incredibly respectful and polite. If you are reading this review, go here right now!!

Cute place. The ice cream was good although the ube wasn’t as ube as I would have expected. Can’t say much for the staff because I only saw them when they dropped off our food. My only qualms were the staff were in the back talking the whole time I was there and they don’t sanitize the tables and chairs after each customer. Normally that wouldn’t be so bad, but we are in a pandemic, a little sanitizing never hurt anyone.

They seem to be really popular and their crepes cakes are as good at the Lady M ones on the east coast. Their drinks are overpriced though. Also table was not clean but was not their fault because they were super busy and basically all of America was understaffed anyways. We went there on a Thursday night and they seemed to be out of a lot of stuff on their menu.

The COVID management of the way the indoor seating was being used scared me away from wanting to eat anything indoors. That said, I was there to try the rolled ice cream. I knew the crepe cake slices would be fantastic, but also knew without advanced planning, I'd not be able to get one. The rolled ice cream was excellent. It certainly put itself in the top tier of anything out there. Another time, I will make an effort to get some crepe cake, and when I can be comfortable sitting inside a fluffy pancake.

Oh my goodness. My boyfriend and I are both huge fans of japanese cuisine, and this place tickled us pink. They were out of a few things that we had wanted to try, but for a good reason. The line was constant, and so I am sure that they were serving things out constantly. Just gives us a good excuse to come back. :) The servers were SO kind, and they got our desserts out so quick. Once we got them, we took our first bite and fell in love! We were going to take pictures, but we ate them so fast we didn't even have time. Doki Doki is my absolute favorite dessert place in SLC. I make sure to stop by almost every time I drive down from Logan. Everything is handmade and SO delicious, the place is adorable, and the staff/owner are so nice. Some people have complained about wait times/things running out, but like I said everything is homemade that day typically so it’s to be expected🤷🏻‍♀️ 20/10 I recommend to everyone I know!!!

I wasn't sure what to expect since I wasn't super sure of what made the food Japanese, except for the pancakes. But when you walk into the shop it's super cute & the vibe was very Japanese. It's a beautiful, minimalist place. Now the dessert was incredibly delicious! I had the rolled tiramisu ice cream & my partner had the kiss kiss crepes. Each was incredibly delicious & beautifully made! The tiramisu was so creamy & tasty & the kiss kiss was not overly sweet. It was perfect. I can't wait to come back!

Such a cute and clean cafe. The taiyaki was yummy, custard inside was really good as well. The only complaint i can think of is it took them 30 min to "clean out the ice cream machine and prep the taiyaki" but we had the time so it was no biggie. Employees were kind. I’m a huge fan of Doki Doki. Their food is always fresh and she is innovative - bringing in amazing flavors. This is one of the top dessert spots in SLC. You get great Asian fusions without the over-the-top sweetness of other places. The owner is the best - she really cares about everything she makes and is so kind. My favorites are the crepe cakes (especially passion fruit), taiyaki (better than I had in NYC), and her fluffy pancakes. Must try.

A must try dessert location. My husband and I used to live in Japan and we miss Japanese desserts. Doki Doki has absolutely nailed Japanese dessert and everything (and I mean everything) is amazing. They make everything (down to the chocolate sauce) from scratch in their kitchen ever single day. The store's decorations are cute but i should have took the outdoor table because it would get noisy inside when they got busier. Doki Doki has seriously upped the asian dessert scene! We recently moved back to Utah after being gone for 3 years. Prior to moving, the asian dessert and drink scene was seriously lacking, especially in SLC. There were a couple of boba shops popping up, but not much. Fast forward 3 years and the food scene appears to have diversified much more. Doki Doki offers a variety of asian desserts including sweet crepes, crepe cake slices, Japanese fluffly pancakes, rolled ice cream, taiyaki soft serve, and of course boba drinks. The Japanese crepe cakes are made with 20 thin slices of crepe and are absolutely delightful. They offer 2 different flavors weekly, but also take custom orders as well. You can order a whole beautiful crepe cake! My favorite is the matcha crepe cake, which is something I haven't had since living in NYC. The matcha flavor is on point. The rolled ice cream is my husband's favorite hands down. Their rolled ice cream is much creamier than most rolled ice cream places and I love how they spiral the rolls up to make little towers. The rolled ice cream does take longer to make, but is well worth the wait. I'm a big fan of their rolled ice cream. Now onto the taiyaki... I was so thrilled to see that there is now taiyaki in Utah! Taiyaki is a fish shaped soft waffle cone, lined with a flavor of your choice, and pairs with soft serve ice cream. They change up their soft serve flavors weekly. I have had both the matcha and the cereal-infused milk flavor. I loooved the cereal infused milk flavor. So creamy and the perfect level of sweetness. My favorite drinks here are the ombre drinks. Not only are they pretty with the ombre color effects, but so refreshing! Whenever I am in Salt Lake I wanna swing by for a tea (the princess peach is so good). Ok, now onto fluffy pancakes! Fluffy pancakes can be difficult to find in even some larger cities. My friend ordered this once and I got to try a bite. Definitely worth trying out! Overall, Doki Doki is a super cute shop with delicious treats and different nook and crannies to sit in. The owners are very sweet and friendly. This is definitely my favorite dessert shop in Utah by far. Five stars for excellent asian desserts and kudos for taking the dessert game to a new level!

They seemed a little short handed, but believe me it's worth waiting a little longer for you sweets. The rolled ice cream is very good and they style it very fancy! However, every time I've gone here it takes them at minimum 15 minutes for them to bring the ice cream out. If you ordered two you may as well start eating because by the time you get the 2nd one you're already done eating the first. Another downside is they dont really have a spot for you to watch them make the rolled ice cream like other places around, which is a bummer because that's one of the most fun parts of the experience. The last thing I'll note is that the last time I went there we ordered a ice cream that used vanilla ice cream but they said they were out. Since I had already ordered mine (one that had chocolate) and paid for it, I said I'd just get a refund and we'd go somewhere else.. however they said they would "check" and they ended up having enough for not just 1 but 2 more orders. Seemed weird? Anyways, like I said the ice cream is great but the slow service and not watching them make it really brings down the stars for me.

Their cakes are amazing but twice I have come to get them (preordered and prepaid) and the first time was told they forgot to make it and to come back the next day and this second time was told I’d have to wait over an hour for it even though I called ahead and was told to come in. The first time was for a birthday and I had to go buy a cake somewhere else and the second time was for a going away party which I had to delay. I’d love to keep coming here because the cakes are so good but they’re unfortunately not reliable at all

So if you’re like me, you’re a little sceptical of trendy foods. It’s not that they’re bad, per se, but usually overhyped. So when I first heard of the crepe cake thing, I was ready for disappointment. I could not have been more wrong!! The Ube flavour was absolutely delicious, and the crepe cake has entirely eclipsed normal cakes, in my opinion. I LOVED this experience and doki doki did a wonderful job making my husbands quarantine birthday a lot brighter. I will definitely order more of these in the future!!

Food looked good, but was asked to mask up to order even with people eating unmasked right next to the counter as well as all the unmasked people crammed in line waiting to order. Seemed a bit pointless, so we chose to politely say no thanks and left. Either you are concerned about a contagious virus and you require masks to enter or you are not and don't worry at all. They were not rude about it, likely a rule imposed by the owner. Masks were provided, so if that doesn't bother you, please enjoy. When the goofy mask rule goes away I may try them next time I find myself in SLC.

My original review was going to be 1 star, but Doki Doki made things right in the end. I ordered a crepe cake on 11/11 for 11/21. It was paid for and my confirmation email said to call them for a pick up time. On 11/21 I called them at 2:00pm, but the call wouldn’t go through (it said the party I was calling was busy/unavailable). I called a few more times before my boyfriend and I decided to stop by. When we pulled in to the parking lot at 3:30pm, I received a text from Doki Doki saying “Hey Jessica it’s doki doki we are too busy and need to refund your cake we are so sorry we had a viral tiktok and are packed out the door. I will refund and if you ever want to order again I’ll give you 50% off.” When I tried calling the number, the person had shut off their phone. Since we were in the parking lot and needed the cake for my daughter’s birthday, we went inside to talk to them. They definitely weren’t packed out the door, but they did have more customers inside than the last time we were there (which was also an unpleasant visit). The person we spoke to (and who had sent the text) was the owner’s boyfriend and he explained it takes 3 hours to make a crepe cake, and because of a viral tiktok they did (since they were losing business), they didn’t have the time to make my daughter’s birthday cake even though I had preordered it. We were unhappy with that excuse, but we were more unhappy that they didn’t give us any notice. We understand things happen, but texting us at 3:30pm on the day we are picking up the cake is unacceptable. As we were driving home, the owner of Doki Doki sent me a text saying she heard about our cake situation and would like to make us one, free of charge, and deliver it the next day. She was very nice and extremely apologetic. She and her boyfriend stopped by the next day and delivered the cake. My daughter was elated to have the cake and we were happy Doki Doki made things right. As for the quality of the cake, it was absolutely delicious. I love how it has great flavor, but it's not too sweet. It's the perfect balance and the owner does a wonderful job making them (she's self taught).

It is a cute cafe but it felt there was a lot empty room and walls ~ i got the impression they were striving for a cute Japanese style which I think they are headed towards the right direction but it feels like they stopped. A lot of their staff is youth and I believe they can take advantage of their creative minds. In my experience Japanese cute cafes dont have a limit they do go over the top LOL and that combined with good & creative desserts and good service really leaves costumers wanting to come back for more 😉

Doki Doki is a must for locals and tourists alike! With a cute and unique aesthetic, Doki Doki has delicious (and oh-so-Instagrammable) treats that seem to be authentically Japanese. Be sure to try their fluffy pancakes!!

I wasn't sure about the foam tea, but after trying it, I found that the combination of the cream cheese foam and oolong tea go really well together. You just have to drink it the right way, to get both layers in your mouth at the same time.
