They're fun small made fresh to order donuts. The donuts are about two bite size with some really great flavor. You'll likely get a bunch of different boxes so you can try a bunch of flavors. We had lemon, chocolate, Boston cream and fruity pebbles. All were good. All in all I'd say good. Nothing surprising but a good value. Reasonable price, short wait, parking wasn't too difficult for me.

Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! Please don't hesitate to stop by the wonderful Eighty 8 donut shop. These are a must have in the Portland ME area. We had multiple flavors ranging from a simple cinnamon sugar to some of the "speciality bites" and they are all outstanding. The shop is super cute with a little nook upstairs to enjoy your sweet treats if you want to hang out for a minute. Plus, the people who work there are super kind and nice. Great people, making great donuts, bringing joy into the world.

100% DELICIOUS!!! We had the fruity pebbles and the cookies and cream donuts. So the way they work is the small box (shown in pic) they can only make 2 of a kind and not a mixture of each one. The hot chocolate was a bit watered down but still good. The setup of the shop is cute.

We were delighted to discover this donut shop. We love the decor! The service was great and the donuts are even better. We don't get donut shop T-shirts very often, but we couldn't resist the one that they offer here, it's very clever. We will be back on our next visit to Portland.

We went here on vacation through a friend’s recommendation. Let me just say, it did not disappoint! Small warm donuts are the bees knees! Who knew?! Perfect for sharing and sampling! We ordered the 6 flavors and the lemon flair was our families favorite. They ALL were amazing through and it shows why they have won so many awards! Ok, so not only are the donuts amazing but the owners were a joy to chat with too and made the memory even better! It just so happened that as we walked in the owners did too. Their excitement around their business was contagious. And made us all beam, hearing them discuss their journey. They also gave us excellent tourist recommendations. A win win. Finally, the atmosphere is so perfect for a family! You can stand outside and watch the donuts be made through the huge glass windows. My girls loved it and us adults too. The inside is so bright and inviting, and CLEAN! I honestly think I could have eaten the donuts on the floor it was so clean! We found the interior so cute we took a bunch of pics to remember it. We ate our donuts on the charming outside patio tables and soaked in the charm of the city. It was a great morning and we highly recommend it to locals and those checking out the area. The hospitality itself will put you in a great mood!

10/10 absolute winning establishment right here. The service was top notch. The donuts are bite sized and cooked fresh - and served warm ! After doing a local “donut tour” across the few donut shops in town (stiff competition, as they are also really good !), this one reigns supreme in my humble opinion.

Delicious!! Fresh!! Unique flavors!! The customer service was also top tier! The lovely lady was so nice to my toddler and I and she did not mind sharing a bit of history about the business with us tourists. Can’t wait to go back!

Stumbled upon this place on our way to a late lunch, and since they were closing soon, we decided to try. I was reluctant at first because I’m not a fan of cake donuts. However, after eating these (Oreo and 007 flavors), I realize that I’ve never had a fresh cake donut. Unlike the dense, chewy texture I’ve experienced with cake donuts, these were light with a crispy exterior. Amazing! Also, the icing and garnish were very flavorful. A must-try, especially if you’re in the mood for a non-ice cream (lots of ice cream shops around!) sweet treat.

Cute donut shop with novel flavors and the freshest possible donuts. They're made to order! Service time is very fast since the donuts are small bite-sized ones that come in six packs. Don't be intimidated by the requirement to order by the half-dozen. A box of six is about equivalent in food to 1-1.5 regular donuts, but are much more shareable. So order all the amazing flavors! We got 3 boxes and shared them between two normal-sized people. The coffee was spot on, though certainly not the star of the experience.

Loooove this place! The donuts are made fresh to order and are all hand dipped. It's not your typical cake donut at all as it has a nice crisp crunchiness from being freshly fried when you bite into it and then a great soft interior. All the toppings are very flavorful as well!

If you like donuts,you have to check this place out. The small things are a tad annoying, like you have to get 6 donuts of the same kind, and the line and preparation are a little slow. They don't have WiFi access for the customers either. However, you will probably want all 6 donuts of the kind you want, and the reason it's slow is because they are made to order. The quality and creativity of flavors are very high so have to give five stars.

Eighty 8 Donuts are frickin' SICK!! Seriously, they're super good. We tried the Maine Maple, Boston Cream, and Bamm Bamm. We thought we'd prefer the Bamm Bamm, white icing dusted with Fruity Pebbles, the most but the Maine Maple was the best of the batch. Very, very, tasty, tiny donuts. Latte was good as well. Lastly, the staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. Would definitely return.

Totally stumbled upon this shop and what a gem! I am not a fan of Holy Donuts. This place makes heavenly donuts, the kind that just melt in your mouth. Flavors like Maine Maple, lemon Zinger ( just had that - out of this world!), Bamm Bamm, 007, and more. Absolutely worth the cost and my new breakfast stop in Portland. Super friendly staff too. You need to try them, you’ll thank me.

We love Eighty 8 Donuts, the donuts from the food truck and the shop are always fresh and absolutely delicious. Additionally, we put in a large order for our wedding dessert for pickup from the Federal St. shop and the donuts were an absolute hit with our guests, they were almost all gone within 10 minutes of being put out. If you're ever in the area you definitely need to stop by and try them for yourself!

Donuts are not on display. Two choices: either you buy a box of 6 of the same kind, or a box 25 with 5 flavors. Donuts were fresh and hot with caky texture but way too sweet for me.

Had 6 donuts. Thought the price was reasonable until I saw the product size. Smaller than a mini donut. Taste was good and products were fresh, but I'll skip it next time.

Really really good and great variety- bought some to share with the office and everyone raved about them. A little pricey but still a fantastic treat for something special. Was able to stop by without a line (on a Monday morning), place a walk up order for three boxes, and pick them up in 15 min or so.

Holy Donut is a (delicious) tourist trap and definitely deserves the hype, but this place is damn good competition. I think many people would prefer these donuts to the other donut shops in the area. They are some of the best donuts I’ve ever had.

Stumbled upon this spot walking through Portland. I'm a self proclaimed donut lover and the Boston Creme was awesome - one of the best I've ever had. The bite size nature of their donuts are the perfect amount, and the custard are the right ratio and flavor / sweetness to balance out the donut. Since they come in boxes of 6, I had a couple leftovers the following day, and even then the donuts held up well without tasting stale like day old donuts usually do. I'm impressed enough that I'm leaving my first ever review.

We were told which donuts traveled well... So we got Boston Creams to eat there and Maple to bring back to Massachusetts. EXCELLENT! The donut itself is crispy on the outside and soft + moist on the inside. The flavored frostings/toppings delicious.

Amazing donuts. Still crispy, warm out of the oven. Small, not the gobstoppers other places sell, which I think is a HUGE plus. Also lets you sample multiple flavors! But honestly the best part was the kindness of the owners, which overwhelmed us. Visit. Enjoy.

So, this is in my top 3 for donuts worldwide. It's up there with a place in Paris where the chef went to Le Cordon Bleu. We got the maple ones, and it was.... well quite indescribable. The fact that the donuts were hot gave it that Krispee Kreme intensity, but with a crunch and flavor that was outstanding. This is a huge insult to these donuts, but imagine if a 3 start Michelin chef was tasked with recreating the French toast sticks from Burger King and you're getting the idea of what you're dealing with with the maple donuts. I will stop by Eighty 8 every single time I am back in Portland.

These are a MUST DO in Portland or on the food truck. We got two six packs - a cinnamon sugar and a boston creme. Both were fantastic. The ambiance is fun and the brand designs stood out too. They come out quicly and they are hot and fresh. Service is quick amd kind. You will not regret it.
