Old school bakery doing donuts the right way. You can tell they let their dough mature. Great chew while still being light and fluffy. Fried perfectly without being greasy. Their kolaches are delicious too with all the classic fillings, including poppy seed!

Wanted to find a locally owned doughnut shop and we found this gem. Location was easy to find for us and the business is very small. We grabbed a dozen donuts and wished we grabbed some more to take home! We will need to begin to make this a regular stop when we come to Omaha. Nothing that we tried was bad and we would be very hard pressed to pick just one favorite!

Some things should never change and this is one of those places. Olsen's Bake Shop is a historic place with memory making delectable pastries. Everything is great here. Even the acidental apple and pecan maple danishes are heavenly.

Support independent!! Not only are the baked goods fantastic but the ladies are best! The shop is truly a gem. It has all the cookies and pastries displayed in a glass case. The Hoska was amazing!!! Hoska is a Czech Christmas bread that I ordered with my Thanksgiving pie. Sorry, it didn't last long enough to get pictures.

This no frills bake shop puts out great tried and true classic glazed doughnuts, crullers, iced cake, glazed croissants, etc. The cake doughnut had a great golden color but the cake recipe itself was a little bland. I like a little spice or oomph in my cake doughnuts so these just tasted a bit mild. Quite sweet icing but it wasn't too thick. They're also a bargain at just $1 per doughnut! Some places are selling crazy toppings these days but Olsens sticks to the classics and does them well. During COVID they are limiting capacity to 3 customers at once (it's quite a small shop). So there will likely be a bit of a wait--I think I waited 12 minutes around 10 AM on a Saturday. It's a cute little shop, it's been there quite some time by the looks of it.

This place is a neighborhood staple and one worth going to if your new to the area, new to this place specifically, and especially if you.miss Donut Stop. It's an old school donut shop that still have a self-serve pot of coffee with a cup under a buck. The service is friendly and the prices can't be beat. But go early, they sell out quick.

We have been getting fresh sweet rolls and donuts from this small family owned bakery. The absolutely most delicious in all of Omaha. Fresh baked and fryed the day you purchase them. Get there early as they go fast. The also bake other things. Stop in it worth the drive.

Just discovered them yesterday and probably my favorite donuts in Omaha. You could get the straight plain ones and the donut itself is great. Each donut is a little over a dollar and they're so good. Highly suggest.

This is most likely the best doughnut shop in all of the Omaha & surrounding area. The doughnuts are made by Mrs. Olsen & Family in house from scratch every day. Everything in here is fantastic and fresh. You can taste the difference and no other competitor even gets close. To add, they even have a variety of fresh cookies. From chocolate chip to sugar to peanut butter and then some. They are about a 3" cookie in size. My favorite is here is the glazed croissant and the pecan roll. They're just an explosion of flavor and the rush of satisfaction is out of this world. Give them a shot, its well worth the time and the drive. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

We stopped in to pickup donuts at a local bakery and this was a pretty good choice! They were dealing with internet issues from a recent storm but they were still super helpful and nice. The donuts we got were good and there was enough variety to plan another trip in the future.

Always so good. The donuts are amazing, the crossiant donut is the best. The prices are way good. Just get there early in the day, they sell out pretty fast. They only allow 3 customers in the store, so you may need to wait outside

Olsen Bake Shop makes the best donuts in the city, no contest. Crispy exterior, tender inside, and not covered in breakfast cereal. This shop makes a knockout plain cake donut. The simplest things are the hardest to do, and Olsen does them. Don't pass up the cruller. Plus, the family that runs the joint is very friendly. The downside? You'll never enjoy supermarket pastry again. It doesn't come close to Olsen.

Came for the glazed croissant and was not at all disappointed. My grandma loved the pecan roll. The history here is also wild, both my mom and grandmother went there when they were younger and shared some stories, so its great that more people are still able to enjoy these treats. *Ps - Archetype Coffee sometimes carries their crullers...so amazing as well.

Peanut butter Danish Friday’s are my favorite day of the week! I love the soft dough and melt in your mouth glazed donuts. Cookies are bomb! As their next door neighbor, I wake up with the divine smell of donuts every morning, and with cookies fresh out the oven every night. I dream of bakery. Love this place!

This is one of Omaha’s treasures and had been around for a long time. *Make sure to bring cash as they don’t take cards* The donuts are not expensive for a dozen and are so delicious. It doesn’t seem like a super fancy place but their donuts are so good that it is crazy.

Great little old-time bakery. The ladies are friendly and helpful, and the donuts are divine! They have a perfect glazey-crispyness on the outside, yet the inside is as lite as a delicate French pastry. The glazed croissants are heavenly! Definitely make the trip to this little Omaha gem. Quite possibly the best baked good selection in Omaha; Classic pastries and donuts that are always worth waking up early for. My favorite treat is the frosted croissant but there’s a lot I haven’t tried yet. Get there early, or all the good stuff will be picked over.

Wow! I am a huge fan of one of their competitors as I live out around the 120th & blondo area... and I still love that one... but these guys are in the same category and I am left HUGELY impressed. Very, very well done donuts. And especially the cream filled - much thicker (in a good way) consistency than most. Best in town on that category.

I wanted to buy doughnuts for the workplace and big-chain superstores aren't good for everything - I wanted real, home style quality that you get from Mom an Pop places. I found this on the map and though no times are posted on the door, I showed up a bit before 7 am. A little after 7 am I was about to leave worried about finding somewhere else when another gentleman pulled up and said they normally open up about 7:15 am. Business happens when the fresh doughnuts decide to be ready. I waited a couple more minutes and the door opened as the red neon open sign started glowing. I was not disappointed. The staff knew the locals who started flowing in, the owner (Mrs. Olsen) stopped and talked a while with us. Her grandparents and parents passed the shop on to her and the place has been a bakery since 1906. This is a small piece of history! The doughnuts were a hit at work - they just melted in our mouths and the compliments wouldn't stop. You have to go try this place and thumb your nose at the big box stores posing as bakeries. This is the real deal and sadly these places are disappearing from our society. I'll be back.

After over 45 years of buying from Olsen's Bake Shop, I say there is none better. I love their cut-out cookies more than my own home-baked cookies. My husband loves their plain old cake donuts and he swears they melt in your mouth. They now can swipe your card on an IPad so its no longer necessary to bring cash. They do not disappoint.

The glazed donuts are unbelievably good. Hands down the best donut I’ve ever had. The customer service here isn’t good and I dislike that you can only pay in cash. But the donuts are sooooo worth it.

Yep, you did it. You have followed your nose to the right place. Those sweet smells are of the decadent delights that await you behind that door. Step through and find a couple ladies ready to help you that were as sweet as the doughnuts. I found my way into a cheese Danish(10/10 would eat again)and what I thought was a run of the mill maple long john, well I was severely mistaken. Bite one, pillowy soft and maplelicious, as expected, but bite two is where things got interesting, what to my taste buds delight was that new flavor? Yep, you guessed it it was not only an exceptionally well baked long john with a maple glaze that tasted as fresh as if the syrup was flown in by William Shatner from his secluded sugar shack in the Canadian wilderness that morning, IT WAS FILLED WITH CREAM TOO! Word to the wise, only bring a couple bucks, it will help you limit how much of these baked delights you can buy. Well worth the drive, even if you are not in Omaha.

Well Olson's is that place where it doesn't get any better.....it not a chain store.....it's not a grocery store and it's not publicly traded.......but there Donuts are the best dam donut you will ever taste.....so if you remember how good it was when you were a kid.....then stop in a get a dozen.......and if you have children...start the tradition cause they will like em better than candy...did I forget it looks like a donut shop from an era gone by..... don't miss out....
