I am Dominican. Not natively born, but lived in DR for a few years while young. Now, I love myself some Dominican (experienced writer here)!!! I preface this to say...its not a very good rendering of traditional Dominican cakes. However, its not worst either. Its just meh...I was sent here as I was in the neighboring area. Please don't judge the Doña (owner). She is older, limited, and yes, we should always be respectful (even when they are not)! I can tell she tries hard. I walked in an she ignored my presence for about 10 mins before addressing me (she was on the phone). I waited patiently and gave her a smile and received one in return. Yey! If you want a really good Dominican cake go to Grinny's in Paterson! They are moist, have a huge selection, flavors and offer lots of styles. They service you best in person, but call for hours before you arrive. You will never have to wonder if your cake will be on-time, excellent and not stale. Happy celebrations!!!

I LOVE this place and the owner is so sweet! I ordered my son's 2nd birthday cake 5 days before his party. I was nervous because the cake design I wanted I wasn't sure it would be done correctly 1- because of the time frame and 2- because for his 1st birthday I ordered somewhere else and it didn't look like the photo I had given them. BUT Momy walked me through step by step and told me what she could and could not do. It was ready when I picked it up at the time we discussed and every single person that had a slice or two or three at the party couldn't stop saying how good it tasted and how adorable it was! She's gained a loyal customer over here ;) Gracias Momy!!!!

The cakes are amazing. The lady recommended for me not to put the cake inside the fridge so it will be good to eat the next day and it was better than many times that I bought because I used to out it in the fridge thinking that it could go bud but nope, it didn't happen. It was amazing.. The store is inside a small place but you only go there to pick up the cake, so don't judge the place but its appearance. The price is good for the size of the cake, it is a pound of flour for $50.00 regular cake with fillings. I got strawberry and dulce de leche (caramel sauce).. amazing!!!! I do really recommended. I bought it a day before my daughter's birthday.

Before this place I use to go to the Bronx to get a authentic Dominican Cake. This is much more convenient and worth it. They have different kinds of fillings and they will mix and match. Please note this is a Dominican style cake not your traditional American cake so the taste us different. Very delicious. They bake by pound so a 1 lb cake usually can serve about 20 people.

I’ve ordered cakes there twice and I always liked the cake.. The only issue I’ve had is communication. I don’t speak Spanish and trying to place an order is a big chore.. One time she hung up because she kept saying no English I called the next day and ask to speak to someone that spoke English.. If you’re Spanish speaking you’ll have no issue ordering..

Best Dominican cake ever. Everyone that tested it wanted more and wanted to know where we got it. Be patient when ordering person at counter tries to multi task and make sure to order early, at least a week in advance.

Good Dominican cake for cheaper, and the owner is customer friendly, she would go above and beyond to provide the cake that you want! They also work very well with icing look like foundant. I would definitely recommend Mommy's bakery for your next event!

(Translation) I ordered a cake for my son's baptism which I had to pick up at 5pm, I called at 4pm to see if I could pick it up earlier, they couldn't find my order, I had to give him all the information more than 3 times, the girl who answered me She left me waiting to go to the kitchen, she came back and told me that it hadn't been decorated yet that she would call me when it was ready. They never called me, I had to go to mass so I asked my brother to pick him up at 6pm and he wasn't ready, they delivered him at almost 7:30pm. The cake was very tasty but it was made in a hurry, it was higher on one side than on the other. I definitely did not like that it was not ready on time and for what they charge they should be more responsible. (Original) Ordené un cake para el bautizo de mi hijo el cual tenía que recogerlo a las 5pm, llame a las 4pm a ver si lo podia recoger antes, no encontraban mi orden tuve que darle toda la información mas de 3 veces, la chica que me contestó me dejo en espera para ir a la cocina, regresó y me dijo que aun no lo decoraban que ella me llamaba cuando estuviera listo. Nunca me llamaron, yo tuve que ir a la misa entonces le pedi a mi hermano que fuera a recogerlo a las 6pm y no estaba listo le entregaron casi a las 7:30pm. El pastel estuvo muy rico pero estaba como hecho al apuro estaba como mas alto de un lado que del otro definitivamente no me gusto que no estuviera listo a tiempo y para lo que cobran deberian ser mas responsables.
