Reviews of Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop
Jasna Acharya
Classic American style donuts.
We got the jelly donut and it was perfectly fluffy. And filled with just the right amount of jelly. Really fresh too. It’s also a reasonable price. $1.50 for one donut. It can’t get any better than that.
Cash only.
Bianca Ritorto
Amazing place. Best quality/ price pastries I’ve found here so far. I tried the apple fritter and also the coconut chocolate donut. Both amazing. Also tried the blueberry muffin which was good but not as great as the rest. If you’re in the zone it’s a must try. Cash only but the guys were super friendly so no star lost because of it.

Excellent donut shop. We went in because it was featured in the newest Spiderman movie. Lucky for us, the donuts were delicious. The milkshake was phenomenal. The service was great. They have is a great suggestion for a pizza shop. Magda was our server and she was fun and friendly.
Adrian DiMatteo
Trust me, you want this…every day. Diet-smashingly delicious. Excellent quality every time. Classic atmosphere. Order to go or sit down at the old-school diner-style counters. Can be busy at peak hours, but line moves quickly and staff is friendly. They are famous for their donuts, but the bagel sandwiches and other menu items are also great. Viva Peter Pan!

Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop is the Avenger’s hangout spot! The 60 year old family owned donut shop serves thousands of donuts a day. Marvel fans are here to stay. So many options and literally every single donut melts in your mouth. They stayed fresh for two whole days! Couldn’t resist trying every single one of them.

Just a damn good experience. Pro tip: go sit down and eat there. It's the ultimate experience!
Bagels were great. Coffee was great. Apple fritter thing was great. Service was great!

This place is so good. Classic counter style. The lines are long, so prepare to wait. I ordered a breakfast sandwich as well, which was sooooo good! Very fun for my son. Love it. The staff was helpful, we ordered and waited outside and someone was so gracious enough to bring it outside.

Great little donut shop. Donuts were fresh and the egg cream brought back memories of my childhood. The staff was super friendly and it seemed like they all loved being there. They even responded to my Instagram post within minutes of me putting it up.
Nancy CRUZ
What a great donut shop. Wanted to visit for it's Marvel connection. Donuts were delicious, bagel was fresh. The Egg Creams were the best and the prices are reasonable. Very happy to have visited.

Peter Pan is an absolute must for any visit to Greenpoint. Must take to a McCarren or Transmitter Park picnic.
This place is a rare gem in New York City where you can get quality for a decent price. Each donut is less than $2 and are arguably the best in the city.
The entire shop has this fifties mom and pop shop vibe to it with the teal and pink smocks to match. There are old school stools surrounding the waitress bar so you can order a meal (if you can get a seat) and get a full breakfast too.
The donuts themselves are old fashioned cake donuts which are my personal favorite. They constantly are rotating flavors seasonally with some staples year round.
My personal favorites are the blueberry cake, pumpkin, and apple cider!

Best Donuts in the city! A gem in GreenPoint! Fresh, tasty and so many options to choose from. I loved the cream and coconut and one filled with jam! Also, the bagels are really good. Perfect for any day.
Emil gulloev
Great dough, really collapses perfectly when you grab the donuts and bite in :)
We had the bread crumb and apple crumb donut . I don't think we had to two best donuts. They were supprisingly not so Sweet, (but also not glazed). The creme used could have had more flavour.
Prices are right !!! 1.75$ per donut, not the 5 dollar donut at Manhattan!
Madison Square Gordon
To say this is the best donut shop ever is an understatement. Cash only. Fresh every morning. Sweet polish spot with the most delicious and perfect priced donuts. I eat an Apple fritter a day when I come to town because they are just that good. Other notable donuts: French cruller, raspberry filled, toasted coconut, and their big beautiful black and white cookies
John Lawrence
Old school and very busy donut shop that will take you back in time. Everything goes so quick that it is all so fresh. I've Been going here at least 25 years and will continue for as long as I can.
Janelle L
Best donuts ever! Seriously!! The line is long but it moves fast! I highly recommend the Boston cream donut and the apple turnover!
Omar Tokhie
Have stopped here on the way to work a few times. The reason being the donuts taste amazing, but also the price is almost to good to be true. Your getting fresh quality donuts, at such a great price. The overall vibe of this place is amazing also. You almost feel as if your in the 1980s from the way the workers dress, to the layout of the store. Great nice employees, and amazing hospitality. Just remember, this place in the morning can get very busy at times, and can have a little bit of a wait, definitely worth it.
Added bonus: When visiting this place, you are actually in the same shop that MJ works at the end of Spider-Man NWH. Where Peter visits her, and she doesn’t have a clue who he is anymore. 🥺
Brian Lin
I've been eating a lot of donuts over the last year and the Bavarian Cream here was the first properly filled donut I've had in a long time.
And also absolutely delicious and cheap. Def recommend the Bavarian Cream as well as the Black and White.
Juanes Gómez
Came here because this place appeared in Spider-Man no way home. Since I was tourist-ing in NYC said why not?.
The Donuts are so delicious and the prices are really nice to your wallet. Staff was nice too definitely coming back.
Ricky Ortiz
First time at Peter Pan’s and it lived up to the hype! The donuts were outstanding and a half dozen is only $9. By far my favorite donut spot in NYC for classic/traditional donuts.
Vanessa Castillo
I knew/visited the Peter Pan donuts shop even before they filmed some of the scenes from the last Spider-Man movie but not only are their donuts and coffee delicious 😋😋, their prices are very cheap. Everyone at the establishment is nice and friendly. …
Sara Peyser
Absolutely best donuts in Brooklyn. Don’t be fooled by other spots with pricey menus and crazy flavors (those have their place too) but Peter Pan is OG. You can’t go wrong with ANY flavor. But you must try the sour cream, French cruller and the Apple fritter. Also the breakfast egg sandwiches are killer.

🍽️Food: 5/5
🤵🏽♂️Service: 5/5
🪑Ambiance: 5/5 (SpiderMan!!!!)
📝Notes: This place is iconic! Ever since they filmed Spiderman No Way Home, this place is always packed and I love the vibes :) The staff are really nice and are from Poland 🥰 The donuts are really tasty as well as their hot chocolate 😋 I just wish that they mention outside that they only accept cash, orrrrrrrr they can start accepting card payments 🤷🏽♂️
Jordan Masse
The glazed apple cider is the best apple cider donut I’ve ever had. Cash only counter service diner style donut shop. Gets crowded on weekends but rightfully so. Come early!
Mark Midmark
Got a decent breakfast here, was fortunate to get two seats at the counter on a busy Saturday. Had a breakfast sandwich split with the girlfriend, 2 hot coffees, and 6 donuts to go for ~$17 before tip.
Heck of a bargain!
I enjoyed all 6 donuts we tried. They weren't the best in the world, but the value is incredible and there's a great variety. Well worth the stop!
Uyen Nguyen
The french cruller chocolate is really good, very moist and airy. The donut is pretty normalz at least this one. The place is tiny, but pretty crowded on a Saturday around brunch time. They have a couple seats for people to sit down, but a lot of people seems to do bagel or donuts to go. Cash only I believe.
Hans Buehler
Excellent donuts. The cinnamon rolls are amazing! The brownie is more like a cake, if you like that style. It is cash only.
Andrew Kotick
In my humble opinion, the best donut shop in the city. An old school, no frills, classic donut shop that preserves the feel and prices of the past with no sacrifice to quality. Their cake donuts are unrivaled. Old fashioned and sour cream have no comparison across the city. Peter Pan isn't trying to be anything, it simply is its unabashed authentic self and that's why it's universally beloved. Squeezing up to the counter to have a coffee and old fashioned donut is a sublime escape from reality, if only momentary. One of the places I miss most when I'm away, and I take the train 40 minutes just to get there.
Gilbert Barthelemy
Absolutely without no doubt the best donuts in the five boroughs they are located in Greenpoint Brooklyn it's worth the trip I live in Astoria I was recommended by an old friend years ago and WOW was he right!! I dare anyone to find a better tasting donut not to mention they're freshly brewed coffee I love their jelly and lemon fillings and the best chocolate and custard only advice I give you to get there early morning because by early afternoon they are all gone!! I dare you to find any other donut that tastes better!!
Thomas Prevete
This place has the best donuts and the cinnamon roll is my favorite.
Best one in town.
This is one of Greenpoint's shops that has been here for decades with the same owner, and some of the staff have been there also that long.
They are all wonderful people.
Great breakfast sandwiches and bagels also.
Stephen Adair
Had a bagel breakfast sandwich with an espresso and donut.. everything was absolutely delicious and the staff are awesome. The atmosphere of the whole place is just wholesome and comfortable. The espresso unlike a lot of spots is actually super good. Will be returning with my friend Tony Bagels forsure!
Joe Bianco
Excellent. These are the best donuts in the city and the best I’ve ever had. The yeast donuts especially are exceptional - the peak of donut craftsmanship. Tip - check online for varieties, in store it is busy and hard to see the different options.
H D
It doesn’t get better than this (really!!). I’ve been eating these donuts since I was a toddler and I usually make a point to stop for donuts with my family when in the area. I’ve brought dozens of these to work too - they are unique, generous in size, delicious and don’t skimp on cream, jelly, sprinkles, etc. Why settle for anything else when you can have the best?
Daria P
Cute shop, nice service, but not my favorite donuts unfortunately. To me they were too soft.
Olivia M
Really really good donuts!! Can’t beat $3 for 2 great tasting donuts. Would recommend the apple crumble donut but blueberry buttercream was also good. Note that they only accept cash so make sure you have a couple dollars. Will be coming back so i can try more flavors!
Anna K
I llooooooveeee the Old Fashioned Donut, its my favorite 😍😍🍩 shout out to Kasia, she is super friendly, best service ever!! I like their Bacon Egg and Cheese and I add tomato as well. They have lots of donuts to choose from. They have sitting area. Be patient, it's so worth the wait. 🧡🧡🧡 …
Philipp Siemons
Super tasty and unbelievably airy donuts (so probably calorie free, I guess?😅) for a great price. The one dollar coffee is also pretty good. Wouldn’t have expected so much value for money in NYC, but even on Brooklyn (or generally outside Manhattan) …
Cynthia C. Castellano
It used to be 6 stars but, after pandemic the quality has gone down significantly. They're cheap with their good ingredients lately and there's hardly any cream on their doughnuts. It's mostly dry sprinkles. This is Peter Pan Bakery, not dry and cheap Dunkin- which is what this place is becoming. This place became famous for a reason- that's not what it is anymore. I wish that the new reviewers would have experienced what this bakery was in the 90's and early 2000's. It was 100xs better.
Katelyn Meyer
This place is my special special place. It’s truly a treasure. I was first introduced to this historic landmark over 10 years ago. And have not found a better place since. Always a good time when I go. Feels like it always stays true to itself. Doughnuts are always fresh and tasty and worth every penny. ( which are priced insanely well) there’s a little bar with stools to stay and eat. There BEC on a fresh homemade everything roll is LIFE. Coffee is simple and true. Did I mention I love this place... love the vibe, the owner is wonderful. Pure bliss whenever I’m there. Feels like one of the great last places of old “ New York” and I hope one day to bring my children here.
Danielle Sydnor
So delicious 😋 so many options to choose from such as pastries, donuts, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches. You must get the apple fritter and the red velvet cream topping donut. Excellent customer service and the employees all followed the Covid precautions. Please note this is a cash only cafe. Plus you can not bet the price 😎 This is definitely a great place to visit while in NYC 🙌🏾
Smothered Biscuit
Donuts are decent breakfast sandwiches are amazing, but what’s concerning is the rude staff. The ladies are never friendly, look like they don’t want to serve certain people, and can be just downright condescending. I noticed a couple people have written comments similar to mine. Management of Peter Pan if you are reading this look into it or you will be losing more customers.
Foodstaham
Their old fashioned doughnut is one of the best donuts for the price. It's like the perfect doughnut. They will sell out by the end of the day so go early if you can.
Seth Stern
The best ever donuts in brooklyn and they do things the old fashion way! I stopped eating at dunking donuts because they don't make their donuts fresh made anymore. Shame on dunking donuts! Peter pan is 10 times better and I can't wait to go there real soon!I would strongly recommend Peter pan donuts!
Anthony DeLeo
I’ve had many donuts and many bagels in my life… this place not only upstages but also outclasses every other donut/bagel place I’ve ever been to in my 29 years of living.
The service is on a tier of quality that I didn’t know existed until arriving at Peter Pan’s Donuts. I will be going here every chance I get until the end of time.
Peter Montalvo
Finally made it here and man I already want to go back. The donuts melt in your mouth. The cream tastes amazing. The jelly is clearly made in house because it tastes so good. I could’ve eaten a box of 6 myself! Wow you need to go here if you like donuts! It’s the best I have had in NYC!
Mo's Tasting
Just left Peter Pan donut the service from the 2 cashiers definitely needs works they were busy talking then when they saw me they were debating on who would take my order but overall from the 4 donuts I tried they were like a 6/10 but the s’mores donut was a 8.5 9/10 for me which in my opinion made this trip worth it to me. Also to be fair they also ran out of some donuts so I didn’t try all the best ones.
Also they only take cash but I wish the cashier told me I could of ordered of of grub hub and door dash and just get it right there instead of having me leave to find cash smh.
Soto
One of my favorite breakfast/brunch places in NY. There are only things I love here, the staff, the bagels, the huge variety of delicious donuts, the customers, the layout and of course the breakfast options!!! Worth checking out. Pricing is great too.
Dan C
Such a great place. Love the variety of donuts, the counter to sit and eat, the delicious bagels, the prices, and the overall atmosphere. The cruller was the best I've tried, sour cream donut was special as well. Smoked salmon cream cheese bagel was awesome as well.
Mieke Houbrechts
Best donuts in NYC. Their cake donuts are the best, and it's cheap as well. I've paid way more for way worse donuts! If you live outside Greenpoint and looking to try the best of NYC donuts, you can't miss this. It is definitely worth the trip.
Friendly staff, covid proof, and the super charming look of the store are all a free bonus!
Gilbert Barthelemy
I discovered this place from a gentleman they used to call the mayor of Long Island City Frank 15 years ago he told me about Peter Pan's donuts and Greenpoint Brooklyn he said to me you want the best donut in the five boroughs try Peter Pan's you don't belch them and pass gas like other donuts they are the best wouldn't you know I tried it and I've been hooked since! You've tried to rest now try the bestYou've tried to rest now try the best!!!
Roger Guan
Fresh doughy donuts. They don’t taste like that processed stuff either. Super easy store, feels local, old school and not hipster, great prices too, I think I bought 7 donuts for like $10. Went during pandemic, so really quiet about 2 or 3 people in the line around 12 noon. Masks were mandatory and there was really good crowd control. Line went a little out the door though so stay warm.
Manuel Rodriguez
Love there donuts to me they are the best in with lots of variety just have to get there early because they go fast my favorite is apple crumb cake donut.
julia gometz
So fresh and delicious donuts!! Soft and fluffy. We got the following flavors: smores, red velvet, coconut, Boston cream and frencg crueller. Yu..mmm..m
Lindsey Sarria
The quintessential breakfast spot, phenomenal breakfast sandwiches & donuts. Made fresh all day. If you are in the Greenpoint neighborhood, stop in, you won’t regret it.
Gina Linn
These donuts are amazing. The staff are so nice and patient. Can't wait to go back when I go back to visit NYC.
Gerard Ross
Donuts here are DANGEROUS. They're delicious and not too sweet but airy and light. It's hard not to eat 4 in one sitting but damn are they good
Lyn M.
The donuts are sooooo fresh n tasty. Very affordable too. Full house n long line but moved fast.
Ekaterina Spiridonova
Wasn’t impressed in my first visit, but probably will give it another chance.
I had a Toasted Coconut Donut ($1.25 for any donut) which was slightly tough and chewy.
Coffee $1.00
You can stay inside for that you need to get through the crowd and take a sit, when someone is available they’ll come to take your order. They have breakfast sandwich options or you can have same donut and coffee.
For those who’s taking ~To Go~ orders be prepared to stay in the line for 10-15 mins!!
The wait is worth it only if you’re planning to get a dozen donuts or so.
Eric Coy
The donuts are a good, but I think they are a bit overrated. I had the toasted coconut, cider donut, and the French toast donut. They were quite dry, and weren't as good as a donut from just about anywhere else fresh out of the fryer. I liked the old school charm of the donut shop, but the donuts aren't mindblowing. I would definitely stop here if this was my local donut shop, but there are other comparable or better options throughout the city.
Ashante Greenlee
Even though I went to get my doughnuts when they weren't in the morning and the hottest, these are still great some great donuts to have with some coffee or if you just want to treat yourself after all the city walking. And if you've never tried an egg cream, this little spot serves up vanilla and chocolate egg creams. Fun fact— no eggs are harmed in the making of egg creama
Marcel B
Delicious donuts and worth the long wait in and outside the shop. Make sure you know exactly what you want to order when served because the people at the counter are very impatient.
Jezza
Was an experience and some, we were very luck as a group of 6 to get seats..so busy but such an amazing space and atmosphere. The decor and prices allows you to time travel, a Greenpoint must do!
Eddie Lentol
The baked goods are amazing. The place is iconic!!! The product is consistently the best collection of donuts, pastries and cookies you’re likely to find.
Add to that the fact that they make breakfast sandwiches - good price and great great taste. And, yup… great hot and iced coffee.
Family owned and run. Consistency in the service from a staff of folks who say ‘hello’ like they mean it. They are happy to see YOU.
This place is so outrageously good that it seems ridiculous to write this review at all, because EVERYONE knows how good Peter Pan is.
Shan Poon
It's a donut shop but don't forget the bagels! they don't have a menu, but they do have made to order bagel sandwiches. Lightly toasted everything flaggle with liberal amounts of cream cheese...
The girls behind the counter are cute and very nice.
Natalya Vershinina
Nice donut shop in Brooklyn so many choices they also have bagels everything baked fresh daily
Henry Kalechman
Price wise and taste this spot has the best donuts so far in my book for 2022
Matthew Kirk
Everything about this place is wonderful. Best place I've been in New York.
Navi Digital
Good Lord, I’m obsessed with everything about this place.
The atmosphere, the food, the culture. Unmatched.
Carter Anne
To start with, I'm not a super big fan of donuts, so I may have a slight bias. These donuts were your typical run of the mill donuts, but they do have a large amount of options to choose from. The workers were also very nice, and their prices are incredibly cheap so if you're looking for affordable breakfast this is certainly your place to go.
Zaina Shtaiwi
Best doughnut I’ve ever had❤️😍😍 the sugar doughnut is amazing …
Katie Horsfield
Amazing selection of donuts, pastries and cakes. Delicious donuts. Cash only!
Eva Gil
The donuts are yummy and have great price. There are soft inside and the glaze is a bit crunchy, i love it. The service is ok and the place has an old vibe.
Helene
Amazing donut shop with huge variety of donuts and pastries. Donuts are super affordable at 1.50 each. Wish we went earlier because some of my favs were already gone.
Gregor J. Rothfuss
A very popular place for sit down diner food or to go pastries. The sour cream old fashioned style donut was quite tasty, not overly sweet, and a good consistency.
Andre Basdeo
One of the best tasting donuts I ever had and I am a guy that doesn’t like sweets
Masked Maniac Reviews
Decent donuts. Get there early. Lines get long. They sell pastries and baked goods as well coffee. A few spots to sit if you want to enjoy a drink and donut.
Carrie TAN
Lovely lady owner, very patient and friendly despite the long queues and busy attending take out and dine in customer. Male server still took his time to explain the difference between the different donuts to us. Highly recommended!
YT 3MI
Donuts were delicious and cheap as well($1.50 most of them)I came here because this is where MJ worked at in Spider-Man No Way home and it felt cool knowing they were there.
Jennifer Haack
Amazing donut shop. Nothing fancy (or overpriced) just amazing donuts. The traditional glazed one is just delicious and they also have some seasonal ones like spiced pumpkin in fall.
Julia Kalaj
The donuts are delicious here but don’t go after 2 pm on a Sunday .They run out of donuts early. But they stay open until 6 anyways.
Anya “anyacado” Volz
Best bagels and donuts in Greenpoint. Best price in the city. Best uniforms in the game. Nowhere better to get your breakfast sandwich either on your way to work or on your way home from the club.
Ned W Kelly
Can’t come to NYC without making the journey over here. Sensational baked goods. Retro prices. Retro decor. Friendly staff. Perfect.
Emilio Ramos
The best place in Brooklyn for donuts, period. The total opposite of the small, overpriced, "gourmet" style donuts that have become popular lately. These are big, fluffy, and come with the perfect amount of toppings/icing. Bring your singles and patience though, because it's cash only and is quite popular now that it was featured in a Spiderman movie!
Kylee B
Great donuts and great service! They even recommended a great pizza place nearby.
Matthew Williams
So It was first thing in the morning and I was starving. I just so happen to have a delivery pick up here so I said let me get a donut since I had a bit of a wait. I get on line and turns out it was cash only. Man I was hungry so I ran over to Walgreens for some cash. Came back and boom my order was ready and I still had to pay for the donut. I paid 5 for a 1.75 donut and it was worth it! I over paid but the over payment is worth it and write with saying best damn donut on earth. Don’t do anywhere else go to Peter Pan
Andrew Brownfield
It is like you step back in time, but the flavors are fresh, fresh, fresh. Come here up be happy and leave with a dozen donuts! What could be better?!
A C
Ughhhh, I wish I could eat a doughnut from here everyday!! They're just the best. Such variety and so delicious. I also wouldn't mind to eat breakfast here everyday - super bagels and the friendliest service even though it gets hectic busy. I LOVE it here and you will too!
Emma Fechney
If your not into scrambling for space and organized chaos, this place isn't for you. But if you have the patience and value the charm of matching pastel pinafores, the bagels will reward you. The 4 stars are for those bagels!
Francesca Alexandra
Love everything here! Probably the best bacon egg&cheese bagel I ever had. The donuts are out of this world
Matt Elms
Amazing donuts! From the UK staying in Manhattan, came over to Brooklyn to see the sights (and try these out) and they did not disappoint. Really relaxed atmosphere, grab a seat and a coffee or get them to go. Big choice of different ones available - a shame I couldn't have one of each! Great service from the staff and really great value, too. Would recommend if you're in the area.
Raymond Knudsen
These donuts are a bargain! Taste great and only paid $3.75 for an Apple Fritter and Blueberry Cake. Cash only!
Melissa Vargas
Excellent donuts. Quick and efficient service. They have so many flavors, I can’t wait to go back and try more of them.
Angel Ortega
If you want to eat addicting donuts and never stop, this is the place! As a warning once you taste a Peter Pan donut all other donuts will seem mediocre, so just know you have been warned.
Julia Hsia
I’m soooo surprised by their donut! Both the original dough and the cake dough are good! Sour cream cake donut is soft and moist, and toasted coconut donut is soft, chewy and with texture! Plus, cheap price! $1.5 each.
Susan “Suzie” None of
I love this fonut shop, they have such a wonderful selection of donuts and pastries. Always fresh.
The Brothers Buoy
Here's what you do; go to Peter Pan anytime before 2pm and sit at the counter. Don't just get donuts and take them to go. Half the fun is the experience of the atmosphere here. This is our favorite order: bacon, egg, cheese on a flat everything bagel, salt/pepper, apply own hot sauce. honey dip donut, coffee. If you go with a friend, have him/her get a blueberry buttermilk donut and share. Eat slowly and chat with people sitting around you. The locals that sit and eat here have been in the neighborhood for a loooong time and have some pretty awesome stories.
Hasan Imam
Excellent food quality and many options for donuts and sandwiches. Very friendly place. You can also dine in.
Rositaa
We bad the st Patrick's bagel w cc and some donuts and we enjoyed it very much. Definitely recommend.
Chet Backwudz
The hype is real. Fresh, delicious donuts in an unassuming atmosphere. Highly, highly recommend.
Francesca Colombo
Cute somewhat hidden gem that has a great variety of donut flavors as well as other pastries and ice cream. If you end up here because of marvel, you won’t be disappointed in the actual food and the prices were way lower than I expected for some speciality donuts. I love the red velvet, the s’mores doesn’t exactly taste like s’mores, more like whipped cream and chocolate, and the maple was a bit too sweet for me. Excited to go back and try more flavors!
Sean W
There always line here. The donut was delicious and they have plenty of choice. recommended! The only thing is they only accept cash payment
Dylan Margolis
This is the quintessential donut that, from now on, all other donuts will orbit in the universe of my mind. Cool aesthetic too.
Di Feng Tan
Old fashioned glazed was great. Apple crumble was great. Id still prefer kripsy kreme but that old fashioned has a unique home made taste. Love the place and uniforms.
Mat
Great donuts, they have cake donuts which are very good and traditional yeast. They also make breakfast and lunch sandwiches on fresh made bread.
Erica Chan
Old school donut shop original style decor and family staff. Covid prep. The star, Donuts, are fresh delicious and just the right portion and bite feel Grab a half dozen whenever you walk by!
Clay Vickers
worth a detour. cannot recommend this place highly enough. delicious, fresh food. friendly and efficient service. the kind of vibes other bakeries can only aspire to.
D. C.
Best donuts in Brooklyn. The price is more than fair. Indoor seating from 1PM. Cash only shop
melissa portillo
So place is too small to eat in but let me say I take the ride from NJ to here just to eat bagels and donuts in my car. The line is always out the door but totally worth the wait.
Sally Choi
Donuts are always 5/5 but wish they would accept credit cards or at least Apple Pay :( stinks that it’s cash only but the donuts are 😛 …
Annalise Blake
Love the food here and the service is one of a kind. I strongly recommend trying them out when you have a chance. The food is amazing and the service staff are the best.
A-aron
Best donuts ever! And they don't cost $4 each!
Emily S. McBride
Run, don’t walk, to get yourself a donut from Peter Pan. This giant, delicious, decadent Apple Crumble donut and for only $1.50?? Honestly unreal and now I’m just mad I don’t live closer.
Jim Monti
The donuts are wonderful. We got there right at 4:30 when they opened. Their traditional cake-like donuts taste like a time honored tradition. The light, fluffy donuts had wonderful toppings. It will become a must visit place whenever we're in the city.
Chris Le
There’s a reason why folks line up to get these donuts. Not to mention, Spider-Man No Way Home!!!!
Nero T
The donuts here are really great. I'm still thinking about when I can go back. I got the coconut donut and it was perfect. They also do breakfast here that you can order to go or dine in. A big selling point for the done in experience is the classic diner look this place has. Highly recommend coming here
Levan Lanchava
An awesome retro spot that only takes cash and will take you back on a journey to the 80s. Donuts and apple turnovers are fantastic here
Robin Lee
My fave donut in NYC! The sour cream donut is my absolute fave. The red velvet crumble one is a feast for the eyes and mouth!
Chad Mathews
Such a cool experience. Got to go. Felt like old school New York . Step back in time. Oh and $1 coffee!
Kevin Roan
Best donuts in all the five boroughs! You won't be disappointed. All donuts are fresh and homemade. I recommend the apple crumb and red velvet. Aside from donuts, they make an amazing chocolate éclair with Bavarian cream.
Michael Friedman
Some of the best donuts in America. $1.50 each. I recommend anything with cream in it
Kiara Alfonseca
A classic. Recommend the sour cream donut. It sounds gross, but it's absolutely delicious.
Jessica C
Worth the trip to Greenpoint. It may even become one of your favorite neighborhoods. Amazingly cheap donuts and pastries. Trying this place is a must.
Juliana D C
Hands down top 3 most delicious donuts in NYC for an incredible price. This place is worth the hype and lives up to it's reputation. I don't get the donuts with frosting or filling, because I'm a bit of a traditionalist so I can't speak to those. For the standard yeast and cake donuts, drool worthy. Idk how they fry these bad boys but they have a phenomenal layer of sweet magnificent crunch and delicious flavor and moist goodness inside. Just get the damn donuts. Bonus points for having Manhattan Special Coffee Soda. Sounds weird, is weird, is also lovely. Highly recommend.
Tatianna D
Old fashion diner like atmosphere, their apple strudel is wonderful!! In a town like Greenpoint where it already feels like a time warp, Peter Pan is another addition to that nostalgic feeling. Good prices and a simple but sweet time.
CIRCUIT TREE
I finally decided to head over to Peter Pan Donuts and my experience was extremely pleasant thanks to the girl behind the counter- whose name is heaven spelled backwards- who helped make my first experience killer. The service she provided was nothing less than special (like her name). Thank you PPD. And thans for the sour donut. I loved it.
Nick Jadoo
There are many donuts I can speak highly of here. But as a big donut fan, I can tell you right now I have never had a French toast. They are out of this world. The staff is incredibly friendly and the location in Greenpoint Queens is a lively and friendly environment as well. Pretty close to the trains and worth the ride for these really good donuts
Christopher Milea
You don't need my five stars to know the donuts are an experience, what you need to know is this, THEY HAVE THE BEST BACON EGG AND CHEESE ANYWHERE.
Shawn M
Small joints like this are a dying breed in New Yorkdelicious, cheap, no frills, retro diner fittingsso be sure to visit frequently so they'll stay around for the next 40+ years. Their lemon filled doughnut is great, as is their popular coconut cream, a classic donut with a generous topping of sweet-but-not-too-sweet whipped cream coated in untoasted coconut shavings. But my newfound favorite is one I just had today (and forgot to photograph), inexplicably called "French Toast" (there's not a hint of maple flavor in it). Rather, it's a classic yeast donut coated with toasted coconut flakes and finished with a drizzle of chocolate icing on top. Heaven. Once I recover from my sugar high, I'll try the one I did manage to photograph, a white cream filled donut with what looks like red velvet crumble on top. For now, it's time to finish my coffee and walk off some of these calories.
Hung Tran
Great donuts, but staff needs better effort in communicating to customers in line for pick up orders and having a more lively attitude.
Amanda Chiu
An always busy place that’s efficient as well as knows how to do what they do well in donuts and everything else. No frills here, just quality.
Michael Hutchison
Best doughnuts in Brooklyn! Get the sour cream doughnut and you will not regret it.
Andrew Bauld
Best donuts in the city! The marble and French crullers are the best.
Amoi H.
By the time my boyfriend and I got there, almost everything was gone and for good reason. I got the tasted coconut donut with ice cream (I believe it was flavor with caramel and chocolate pieces). My boy friend got the sour cream cake donut (which is versatile enough to pair with a wide variety of ice cream flavors) with ice cream (can't remember which flavor). Both were pretty good. Note: You need to see room to this place. It's not a light dessert after lunch or dinner. It's we just about a couple hours ago and have taste for something sweet and we may little bit hungry.
Tom Eshchar
I can't believe I hadn't reviewed this before.
I come here every week. Sometimes several times a week.
A very nice selection of super tasty doughnuts. Real ones. Not the American style ones.
Massiel Mojica
Made it to Peter pan donut shop. OMG delicious. Awesome another place to visit when you are in NY.
wanda rodriguez
Been coming here for a few years now -Everything is great. Crumb cake is amazing. Be prepared, the secret is out about this place ever since it was featured in Spiderman No Way Home and the donuts fly off the shelves.
Mike Sheafe
Best doughnuts I've had in NYC, but not what I was looking for coming from the west coast.
Good cake and old fashioned, but the raised doughnuts were all pretty heavy.
Vanilla cream tasted a bit processed, plum filling was excellent.
Allison Lepp
I love everything about Peter Pan’s - I love how it’s very clearly a neighborhood staple in a transitioning part of town, I love the vintage 50’s uniforms, I love the cheap coffee that is *exactly* what you need on a Saturday morning, I love their BEC on everything, and I love that they give me a huge bottle of Cholula without having to ask. Service is always fast and friendly, whether eating at the diner or taking away. Heads up though - it’s cash only.
Whether you have a sweet tooth (sour cream donuts are to die for) or need a dozen bialys or bagels, this is the place to go.
Jas S
Had a cruller and an iced tea. Delicious!
Caitlin
A highlight of my trip to New York. Amazing donuts and bagels at a great cost. Long longs but great and bustling customer services move the line quickly.
Shon Feliciano
Plain and Simple, this is the Best 🍩 Donut & 🍰 Pastry shop there Is !!! The shop has an Incredible Smell of Fresh baked Donuts, Pastries and Muffins, that totally make you want to try one of everything... The staff is great, courteous and polite. The shop is Very Clean. The donuts and pastries are always fresh. I recommend the Jelly donuts, Crueller with Vanilla frosting, Pistachio muffin andtheir Coffee ☕ ... And Honestly just try the first donut or pastry that grabs your eye you won't be sorry.. Highly Recommend A+++++
Angel Torres
Donuts go fast so get there early. This place is heaven
Audra Lambert
The GOAT. Just the best. If you love donuts don’t miss It. Bring cash and do yourself a favor & get the eclair 🤩 …
Nick Felker
You need to get here during the day. I stopped by at the end of the night and they had no donuts left. Even around the early afternoon half of their selection was gone. I picked up two chocolate donuts and walked around Brooklyn. These donuts are great, with just the right amount of sweetness and filling.
Martin Fung
Great neighborhood like atmosphere! Delicious donuts, on both cake and yeast style donuts
Tynia Akinsanya
They're donuts are always on point. Sadly they do not make my favorite item(the red velvet cupcakes) anymore.
D M
The best everything bagels and delicious red velvet donuts that you'll find in NYC are here. Consistency is key and they are consistently delicious and the customer service is top notch every time. The bagels and donuts are made fresh daily in the back and they smell amazing.
Corey Bertelsen
This place feels too good to be true - great donuts at early-00s prices. In hyper-hipster gentrified Greenpoint, Peter Pan is a holdout from a bygone era.
Every time I go they have both the basics (raised, old fashioneds, and crullers are all solid) and some interesting rotating concoctions (like s’mores, pull aparts, and crumbles).
I hope they’re here forever ❤️
Rafael Felix Soriano
Best place for breakfast in the area. Fast and friendly service. Will definitely be coming back!
Billy Smerka Jr.
Get there on a Saturday, get a cruller, get a red velvet donut and and egg cream. 6 stars if I could!
Karl Pinnock
Some of the best donuts I’ve ever had.
DJ Colwell
An excellent old-school donut shop. Hands-down the best cake donut I've ever had and I don't even like cake donuts that much. They stick fairly close to the classics, you're not going to find double-chocolate-peanut-butter-bacon-oreo-surprise-explosion-type donuts here. Prices are extremely reasonable for an independent shop, especially in BK.
Vernon Phillips
The best donuts in New York City!!! You should try them asap.
Sidney Bowen
If your in Brooklyn you HAVE yo go here. Food was amazing!
Scott Higgins
Awesome old-school donut shop. Cash only with no ATM inside. The employees are awesome and will take your order before you head out to get cash if you don’t have any. I ordered the Red Velvet 🤤💯 Check this place out. Enjoy! …
Joseph Imperatrice
Used this location to help raise money for an NYPD Detective with 9-11 related cancer. The donuts are very well liked. Inside has an old school feel. Many donut options to choose from.
John Hipps
First time here. My wife and I enjoyed the donuts. Delicious.
TP T
I tried there best seller and it was ok. The 🍩 crumble as you bite into it. If you are around try it but don’t go out of your way. …
Yalta Zhu
Their old fashioned donuts are great! I love the plain one. But do remember that it’s cash only. I had to run to an ATM blocks away
Raddigan Bros Noise Experience
These are the best donuts I’ve ever eaten!
They are made fresh on premises.
All of the options are amazing.
These are a little donuts either, they’re probably the equivalent to Dunkin’ Donuts pastries amd taste twice as good.
They also taste great on Day two
They have a really cozy seating set up and
everyone who works there is very friendly.
There’s usually a line of a couple of people in the AM.
Audrey
You won’t be disappointed. Their donuts are fresh and fluffy without the greasiness. Each bite is like eating little cream pillows of heaven.
Adam Kerchman
You know it's good, because when you sit down you're across from a group of 80 year olds who have clearly eaten here for the past 40 years. Just might keep you alive longer, tho your mileage may vary
Bethany Kwak
By far the BEST doughnuts I’ve ever had in my life — and I’ve been to a loooot of great doughnut places. How on earth is each doughnut only $1.50???? I’m literally salivating just thinking of their blueberry buttermilk doughnuts.
I would give them five stars, but some of their employees are rude as heck. I work in two cafes, so I totally understand that work can get really stressful, but some of the girls were rude for absolutely no reason 😐 No wonder MJ from the new Spider-Man movie hated working at this place lol — I would hate it too if I worked with some of these girls.
dan73nyc Alvarado
A diabetics worst nightmare!!! It's hell made of sugar and caffeine, but soooo- GOOD!
Bridget Coolick
Great donuts in an old style bakery setting! They have a variety of donut flavors and offer some other items as well.
Zee Pinkney
The donuts are Amazing. I am loving the glazed old fashion. I came in one morning and to my surprise they were warm. It was definitely worth the early morning drive. Very pleasant old school atmosphere 👌 …
raul rojas
One of the best places for donuts and now pretzels with salt!
nicole p
Classic spot with classic donuts, both cake and yeast, in a variety of flavors. I'm not a cake donut person but Peter Pan's were great, though you absolutely can't beat their plain yeasted glaze. Chewy, airy, not overly sweet. Top notch.
Madeleine Jordan
One of the best donut spots in the city if you’re looking for classic donuts. As a fan of glazed, I would definitely recommend the honey dip donut.
Jeffrey Moskovic
Best egg sandwich in Greenpoint. Great bialys, pretzels, apple fritters and of course donuts too. And everything is very affordable. Truly a neighborhood staple.
S Levine
Very large selection of some of the best donuts ever. Good coffee also.
Pablo Ranea-Robles
Awesome place for donuts in Greenpoint, but don´t go near the closure time, much better when they have fresh donut. And try the donut sandwich with Haagen Dazs ice cream!!
Chelsea Green
Dipped my maple donut into hot coffee, and it was perfection - tasted like maple-syrup melting shamelessly into pancakes without managing to overdo the sweetness. Highly recommend this place for a quick stop while you’re shopping/doing whatever you do.
Cristofer Salas
Best doughnuts. The apple cinnamon and coconut are my favorite
Julie Feczko
One of my favorite Greenpoint locals — old school style, cash only (but very affordable) and best donuts in town. Their selection of donuts is amazing.
Shivana M
These Donuts are some of the best I've ever had. They are so delicious and so fresh. The prices are amazingly low and they have a wide variety. It's not like some others with 1 plain don't with different frosting flavors. I always go in planning on buying 2 and buy 2 dozens instead. Go early if you want to get the best selection. They sell out pretty quickly.
Andrea Wu
I've been here so many times, it's a great, fresh, cheap donut shop for cake donuts! I've brought a lot of friends and visitors and travelers here as well. There is almost always a line but it always moves quickly. I've had their red velvet, chocolate, blueberry, French toast, and sour cream cake donuts, as well as a bite of some other regular non-cake donut which wasn't great. I like their chocolate and blueberry the best because it has the most flavor. Red velvet wasn't really red velvety, and the French toast just tasted like cinnamon sugar. At $1.25 (including tax), it's a very cheap donut for NYC. Definitely recommend!
[edit Nov 1, 2021]
Came by here again today, prices have risen and now do not reflect tax. 3 cookies for $4.95 including tax. Still fresh, still lots of choices - chocolate is still awesome, have tried blueberry, apple cider, a few others too.
Kajal Dalal
Some classic and some unique flavors. Can’t go wrong with this place. Bring cash!
Kristopher Kuss
Excellent bagel, egg and cheese. The eggs were cooked perfectly. We got a half dozen donuts. They were all good. The coffee was fine. I will definitely be back.
Apurva
I loved the classic sour cream donut. Very dense and crumby. Expect a line here that wraps around the counter inside, but it moves fast!
Anthony Gibbs
Great donut spot 🍩 …
David W
Cute little place that is setup like an old school dinner with spinning stationary stools lining a winding countertop. Tons of donut options that I didn't know what to choose. Ended up getting the cake donut, vanilla frosted with sprinkles donut, and a twisty donut. Felt all were solid and very fresh. Everyone was nice and attentive and they kept the long line moving. Didn't get the apple fritter like all the reviews suggested because they were sold out. Talking to people in line, they all confirmed it was excellent. I will definitely try to get that next time. Thanks to all the reviews for helping me discover this great little place. Check it out all!
Alexander Chu
So good. Been here four times over the past few years. Still keeping the old school vibe and prices and amazing doughnuts. Cash only. If they delivered, this would be dangerous to my waistline
Aishu
Amazing breakfast sandwich, fun creative donuts, perfect pricing !
mark andujar
Cash only business👎Donuts are good, the blueberry glazed is good and toasted coconut is light and fluffy. Busy place but line moves fast. …
Marcos Torres (FoodPorn NY)
Best donuts in Greenpoint so far!! You must go.
Olivia Bruce
Wow!! What a fun & expansive selection of sweets. The line looked intimidating at first, but the staff made sure it moved efficiently. If you want a box (instead of the paper bag), make sure to ask when you place your order and don’t forget to bring cash as it’s cash only. Enjoy 🍩 …
Simon B
Doesn't get any better than this.
Old school and delicious!
Trent
I came here thanks to Spider-Man: No Way Home and this was a really cool place with delicious doughnuts.
Reecy S
Saw this place on food network YouTube page. About a 35 minute drive from where I live. Found it easily and found a parking spot about three blocks away. When it gets warmer it would be nice to travel. Anyways it was crowded and small. But there was good customer service and quick service. The donuts overall were good. The regular donuts like glazed and frosted, has a buttery taste. The more dense donuts like chocolate cake donut and red velvet cake were dry, but the glaze over it balanced it out. I wanted to try this place for the longest. I experienced it but I don’t see a second trip.
Arbutus K. Cay
One of the only places I have been to thousands of times and am not even a big fan of doughnuts in general. Would gladly be forced at gunpoint to come here every day to consume bagels and the occasional doughnut (blueberry buttermilk is particularly delicious).
Kinga
Hands down best donuts in Greenpoint! Variety of donuts made on site, they also have breakfast and fresh hot coffee
alpha. pee
One of the most original places i visited in New York! The shop itself has an 90's nostalgic atmosphere but in a good way. The donuts are just awesome. Quality is top, the selection is amazing and i still have the taste in my mouth! The bagels are as good and the coffee is great as well. Go for it!
David Robillard
Great donuts with super friendly staff. Definitely worth a stop. I had the red velvet donut and the lemon cream filled.
Nancy Hernandez
Lived in Greenpoint years ago but this is still the best bakery ever.
abagnale87
Love this place, great fresh donuts at very affordable prices . They have a to stay area too, and the coffee is not bad . And yes that’s where they filmed the latest spider man movie
Rocoporco
Best donut! Need I say more? 2/20 Update; I may have understated the initial review. This place has been a neighborhood staple for years. That's no accident. The usual long line and 4 to 6 girls behind the counter should be obvious. Great lil breakfast spot as well. But, seriously the donuts are awesome.
Vengapat
Their everything flagel with scallion creamcheese is to DIE for. I have had it 30 times in the last year. Their donuts are also top notch. The blueberry buttermilk one is delicious. Everything is super cheap too, but only accepts cash!
Eyal Mamistvalov
The Donut I liked the most was the Honey Dip
nanthakumar nirmalakumar
Saw this spot on spiderman and thought hey let me check it out. The spot had an old-school theme to it and the donuts were really good. Very inexpensive and tasty. Would definitely go back when im around the area.
Dana Borrero
Like most of the reviews say, this place is awesome. Been going here for ~7 years and in the last year something has changed. The sour cream and red velvet donuts are still awesome, but something in the recipe or person making it had to have changed because they're quite different than before. They used to be 10/10 and now they're maybe an 8/10.
Still worth a visit for the atmosphere and decor. Cash only!
Siddhartha Gupta
This was a cute spot. The setup led to a rather chaotic ordering process, but the people who work there will take care of you well, and are very friendly! The donuts were good but I really enjoyed their chocolate muffins, and their bagels were awesome.
Kelsey Butler
Finally made it to Peter Pan on my recent trip to NYC, first post Covid and it’s a must!
The Pumpkin cake was my favourite (over sour cream actually), with great cake donut texture. Apple fritter was quite tasty (better than I Initially thought) and had surprisingly good amount of apples and wasn’t greasy.
Only disappointment was the chocolate cake as I didn’t find it that chocolatey?
It’s crazy busy so I definitely recommend phoning ahead to reserve flavours if you want the really popular ones and can’t get there first thing. Eg. Tuesday at 10:30 and Saturday at 10:15, choc glazed was sold out.
Staff were very nice, and whoever manages their Instagram account is awesome!
Grey Cottun
This place is a true gem. The pastries are delicious and so cheap! I dined in and had the sugar coated and the honey dipped. Both were good and I absolutely loved the sugar coated. Also have awesome diner coffee, which is my favorite guilty pleasure. Cash only, though!
Sophia Sustaita
Only 4 stars because of bad service. The waitress threw our donuts on wax paper on the counter with no plates...and had an attitude, and wouldn't get any more plates for my friends 🙄 …
Sammy Perez
Amazing bakery shop ,all kinds of donuts and bagels! The service is spot on,Donna the owner is a sweet ❤️.I buy my favorite bagel and coconut donuts, as well my ice coffee 2-3 a week from here.would definitely recommend to all.
Anirudh Bainwala
My favorite neighborhood donut shop! Still amazing and homely and of good quality despite being on the tourist radar. Proud to be in the neighborhood of this shop!
Also: spider-man no way home was shot here!!
Brian Roddy
The donuts are world class, but don’t overlook the BEC 🔥 …
Matthew Smith
Great place! Locals love it. Personally, I don't think their donuts meet the hype, but that may be my Midwestern tastes influencing me. I come here for the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwhiches which are very reasonably priced, and delicious! Also, the vibe of this place is perfect. I feel lucky to live so near by!
Richard Cracknell
Not let down by this local institution, always busy but worth the wait
George Breiwa
Yummy
Gina McManus
YUM, just YUM!! Long line on a sunny Saturday but it moved fast.. !
Jeannette nettie
Best donuts and breakfast sandwiches ever!! Reminds me of the old school days. Excellent and well worth the wait. I come all the way from LI ! You will not be disappointed
Si Haithwaite
Lines are long for a reason - this place does brilliant bagels and fantastic donuts. Go for the Sour Cream Donut
jesse baskin
the absolute best apple fritter i have ever had. little crispy parts on the outside. PIECES of ACTUAL apple inside. heavy cinnamon, but not TOO heavy. its taste is clearly present but not overwhelming.
my girlfriend who's favorite dessert is apple fritters (I pre-ordered for a gift for valentines day), as well as my roommate, feel the exact same way. couldn't recommend more
BK_ Knight
I've been over here couple times before and their donuts pastries are so delicious! They make fresh brew coffee best buy for their breakfast sandwiches. Really affordable in the hippest neighborhood in my Brooklyn. The place has character you don't see much of a coffee shop looking like a coffee shop anymore it's a great place to have your coffee and treat especially the service people are very friendly kind service waitresses. Most certainly be the place to be.
T Pollari
The donuts are amazing but I have to warn anyone that its really busy so it's not the best sit down and eat place more of a to go place. But the food is amazing and I would recommend one hundred percent. And they don't just have donuts which is nice to go to for breakfast and such. So if your thinking of going I'd say you should because it had really good food that I will crave the rest of my life.
Tiff Locus
I love this place. I order donuts, munchkins, sweet rolls, flagels, and breakfast sandwiches. The lines can get long so come with patience and get there earlier in the morning for a full selection of tasty foods.
Jessica Janniere
Today I was in the area and stopped by to buy a dozen donuts; all different flavors/ varieties. The donuts were fresh and delicious. It was still early in the day. Service was quick and went smooth. My only complaint is that they are a Cash Only business. It was an inconvenience to leave, go to the ATM and come back to make my purchase.
Derek Ruhlandt
Great, classic donut shop; definitely the best donuts in the area!
They have some counter seats (first come first serve) for sit down service and do offer bagels and breakfast sandwiches.
I always just get donuts for takeaway. The line can at times be long (20 minutes), but it's worth it.
It is cash only. Basic donuts are currently $1.25 each, but some are more (you'll have to ask to be sure how much each are).
My favorite is the marble cruller (chocolate and regular cake batter twisted).
Elizabeth Goldberg
Basically the most popular donut shop in the area, and now they've started baking cookies!
Some of the cookies they now offer are: gingerbread, snickerdoodle, sugar, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin (TRY THIS ONE!), peanut butter (can skip, but it'll probably improve later).
I usually stop by for a BLT or toasted buttered bagel. Not sure what they put in their everything bagel but it's delicious! Just be aware that because of their popularity, you might run into lines or they might not have the cookie you want (they're really popular).
Simka Ellis
It's cash only and the line can seem really long but it goes fast and it's worth it to hit an atm. The donuts are soft inside and crispy outside and they have a great variety that they make fresh. They also have a small counter for people who want to eat diner food but I haven't tried any of it. If it's half as good as the donuts then you won't be disappointed.
Christopher Borden
I have been coming here for many years, this place is truly what you think of when you remember fresh Doughnuts as a kid. Variety is plentiful, the staff is super friendly, and they even have great breakfast. If you are in the area I would not even think twice, stop in for some of the best in town.
Brady Rice
getttt their bagels! Don’t ask why, it’s a secret
Lena Cho
Deliciously fresh donuts, but very slow service. Their ordering system is inefficient. They had six girls up front doing orders for the carry out and dine in customers. Instead of having two deal with the seated customers, two doing drink and food prep, and two at the front counter dealing with the carry out orders; they had all six running around doing everything. My husband and I waited a ridiculously long line for two donuts. The wait time was 20 minutes. The donuts were tasty but was it worth the 20 minute wait? No, it was not. Maybe, they can have a line just for donut orders and one for food/drink order line. Oh, before I forget, this is a retro dinner type of restaurant, so CASH ONLY. There are no ATMs in the place, but fret not, there are plenty of major Banks within a one-two block radius (Citibank, Chase, TD bank, and Apple bank). Despite the wait, this is a must visit place. Just beware the lines.
Michael Taylor
This place is the best donut shop in NYC and they have excellent service too
Mark Williamson
The best donuts. Ever. Expect to stand online for take out as the seating has been removed. Oh, yes, bring cash; no credit cards accepted.
Eddie C
5 stars for a donut shop? Yes, let me explain why. Small businesses are slowly disappearing in this city and this place has been a neighborhood staple for decades, churning out freshly made donuts every day at a reasonable price (cheap, by today's standards). I don't know how people find this place, but even during the week midday, there is usually a steady stream of people and a long line on the weekends. It moves quick, though. Skip Dunkin and Krispy Kreme and make the trip to Greenpoint for a unique, old school experience.
David Shorts
Very good bagels. I enjoyed the Everything Bagel and that is saying alot. I have eaten many bagels in my life and this bagel had the right amount of everything. The shop was very small, but the service was excellent. If I lived in the area this would be my regular hangout spot. Every time I visit Brooklyn I will be sure to visit Peter Pan Donut & Pastries I hear their donuts are great too. There were lines of people just for the donuts.
Sharad Tiwari
Great stuff very delicious donuts coffee and bagel. It feels like their food is home made and with love. Like the beautiful girls dressed in uniform, a rear site to see these days. They run out of stuff very fast the trees place is extremely busy but their service is very fast as well.
Justin Meyers
Great donuts at even better prices
Dominic De Martini
the sour cream donuts are out of this world. I love me a good cake donut and this place does it the best. They also have some wacky flavors of raised donuts. Also the interior is fantastically old school. You feel like you walked into the 60's. I hope it never changes and stays around forever
Martyna P.
Good service, huge variety of donuts, great prices
Jessey Mercado
A hidden gem, you must get there nice and early before the meters and alternate side take affect. The bagels are nice and warm with a mouth watering texture. Order and get out of the way this place gets busy and customers are always in a rush. Well staffed so you wont wait long.
S H
Wow. The service here was so amazing. My sister and I stopped in during our trip to NYC. I was afraid that I might be treated differently as I'm not a local and needed time to decide on what to get. The women working here are so friendly and fantastic! I felt so welcomed! And the doughnuts are 5 stars! The were light and airy. I recommend the doughnuts here for anyone. The locals are lucky to have this place!
Nonplus 2op
I absolutely love their donuts! Although flavors are select during some days, on weekends and busy hours, there is every flavor you could imagine.
+ The line is long and moves quickly.
- No parking around the area.
+ Donuts are cheap at $1.10 each, cheaper than most donut shops. Dunkin chargers $1.40 plus tax!
+ Always baked fresh.
Maritza Santos
I love this place. Had my first taste of donut perfection 40 yrs ago and its still just as good.
Ronald Rahman
I had a craving for donuts this past weekend and wanted to go somewhere that wasn’t Dunkin’. I’m glad I made the 18-minute drive to this place. The donuts were great. The coffee tasted great too. Everything was affordable. It’s cheaper and tastier than those franchise donut/pastry places. I’m going back soon for a dozen donuts. It’s cash only, which is how it should be.
Daryl Narain
This Mom and Pop bakery is exceptional. Their donuts are nothing less than being superb. Not too sweet like other chain stores... And they have other delites that I will be trying soon... Highly recommend!
Emily Turney
I had a bagel sandwich here and it was awesome, almost too large but no complaints for that. My boyfriend tried their cake, French toast and red velvet donuts, and loved them all. We wish this place was in Minnesota so we could go all the time! Definitely recommend!!
Gloria Ho
Popular donut shop so need to get here early if you want a selection. Don't be too intimidated by the long line, it moves faster than you think. The donuts are good though i haven't had them when they first come out so i don't find them life changing. Lots of options too, if you come early enough.
Jennifer Getchell
Sooo good. Get there early to avoid lines. It will take some time and lots of calories to try everything! Pictures speak 1000 words.
Billy Woods
These are the greatest doughnuts I have ever had. They are glazed to perfection every single time without fail. Always crowded. Get there early. Good coffee too! Would like to one day try their bagels but I am drawn to the doughnuts every time
Belinda Leung
Love this place! Classic doughnuts are served fresh everyday and there is a huge selection. There's usually a line but it always moves quickly!
Traci
Super old school donut shop with equally old school decor. You come here for the donuts, though and if you're not local, it's definitely worth a drive for both the exotic donuts like red velvet and the classics. At 7am, on Sunday, they're fully-stocked with all flavors.
Bilal Alaji
*CASH ONLY* Charming mom n pop shop with old timey vibe. Small but cozy counter seating. Very inexpensive. Great bagels and wide selection of donuts too. Just wish they had more signs outfront (or on Google) that it was cash only. We only noticed while waiting in line outside thru the window a sign posted at the register and had to run across the street to get cashback at Walgreens.

I come here on Saturday mornings before the crowd. Donuts are bake so fresh there is a slim picking early in the morning. Coffee is good also. This place has like a happy days type feel and their donuts will make you happy.
Andrew Ko
My wife and I were visiting from Michigan and we went here. Amazingly good donuts! Good place for a snack. Definitely filling. Don't underestimate how awesome this place is.
Sharon Turner
Simply the best! Every single doughnut is divine. And I love, love, love how the place probably looks the same as it has for decades.
Dale Sturgill
We went late in the day and selection wasn't the greatest but they were good.
Stefanie Korherr
Yummie donuts and bagels for really good prices!
Daniel Rosenhaus
What an awesome throwback. Huge variety of great donuts and amazing prices, we got 6 and two coffees for $9.05, ridiculous. The maple and white cream are great and compare very well to some of the top places in/around San Fran where they are obsessed with donuts. Definitely worth a visit when in Greenpoint.
Sal
Amazing food in a landmark location. The wait can be intimidating, but if you aren't planning on sitting down, it's really not that bad. A must-stop if you are in the area, but worth the trip from most places in the city. Best donuts I've ever had, by a long shot. Only place I'll eat donuts from in fact.
claud
I was excited to check this place out since I am a donut lover. My favorite out of the donuts I tried was the sugar donut. I enjoyed the taste of the jelly on the jelly donut. I was not fond of the icing in my opinion. The staff member wasn't particularly friendly, she seemed bored and a little irritated.
nicolany
One of the best doughnuts place in NYC! Old school pastries in one of the most characteristic neighborhoods in Brooklyn
Elvis Jimenez
Great place for donuts and coffee the donuts are always fresh out of the oven the staff is friendly and polite good breakfast. Need to stop for donuts Everytime
Michael Guida
Best coconut donuts that have ever existed. Great service, friendly and helpful. The only breakfast spot we go to in Bkln, 14 years and counting. The counter girls are the best, and you'll always have a conversation with other patrons waiting for their order. Great place.
Yuri
Their Boston Cream and Apple Fritter are my favorite
R Scott “Scotty 6 Slices” K
Delish donuts at great prices. Great selection of both the classics and also some very unique donuts as well.

I googled donuts and the cutest name popped up. So we had to check it out. A good 10 minutes walk from the train. The selection was decent. Worth the wait but an eclair should have Bavarian cream! (Really long donut). Their red velvet was so so. Relatively cheap. Wheelchair accessible. Cash only..
A P
Often called the best donut shop in NYC- and I would agree. A simple, old-school donut shop that has no pretense of being healthy, experimental or trying to appeal to a yuppie crowd. They have breakfast sandwiches too if you want those. There is some seating if you are lucky and if you need to use the restroom, you can get a experience of their kitchen- which is sweet! Extremely friendly staff and extremely friendly prices. You want fresh donuts that are not trying too hard to be good? This is the place. Carry a box to share with your friends- or to last you the week!
Peter Kim
I don't know if there's much to add with so many great reviews. Just try all the different kinds of donuts instead of the red velvet because they're all great.
The one criticism of this place -- I went here on a Saturday morning once and just 15 minutes after they opened, they only had red velvet donuts! I don't know if they had a late start to the day or what... But any sort of bakery should be fully stocked and ready to go when it opens. I'm not sure if it's always like this or if it was just a one-time occurrence. But for that, I give them 4 stars instead of 5.
Chris
I've been coming to this great shop since early 90s for the cream chocolate sprinkle donut. The cream taste so natural and sweetness not too overpowering. However they've been seriously slacking off as of late.
Many times well into the morning they're terribly understocked at the height of rush hour. They used to be fully stocked at 6am. I don't know if the baker wakes up late or simply is lazy but there is no reason to get there at 8am to see empty shelves. This is just sad. They choose to disappoint their faithful.
One more thing is the quality. While they are arguably the best donuts ever, it seems as though the Baker has started taking shortcuts which seemingly is showing. One way I've noticed is with the cream chocolate sprinkle donut. It once was so natural tasting and now it is so off putting now I have to scrape off the cream unfortunately.
But there's maybe hope.
Moe's Doughs.
They just opened at 128 Nassau Ave and rumor has it the Baker was the head baker at Peter Pan. Unhappy I guess with diminished quality at Peter Pan , he opened his own shop. This is rumor of course. I tried some today though. Really good!
So while Moe's looks promising Peter Pan I would say needs to get their quality act together, or not. Peter pan is still awesome. Thanks for reading.
PS if you made it to the end don't forget to like
Tom Imperati
Always great donuts and service! I would have taken a picture of my donut but I ate it in under 5 seconds!
Tai Collins
Great food. Pastries to die for… not 5 star cause it doesn’t take Credit. Cash only business are probably laundering money. Join us in the 21st century.
Mark Miller (Best Mark Miller)
Bust spot, but worth the wait and we actually got a seat at the counter.
It's a very classic throwback place from the pink and teal uniforms to the zig-zag counter.
For groups larger than 2 who don't intend to stay, I recommend electing a delegate to stand in line and order. Its just too small inside to have unnecessary people standing around.
RADIZZLE4000
Best Donut Shop of Long Island City, Northern Brooklyn to my experience. Cash ONLY establishment. Staff are nice
J J
Even a long line moves fairly quickly. I’ve never been here when there was a space available at the counter but I live in the neighborhood and don’t mind getting my donuts to go. My favorites are the blueberry and glazed old fashioned. Great place to take out of town visitors.
Luca Bessi
Amazing Donuts !!!!!!!!!!
I go as far as to say the best donuts ever and on top of it they are cheap AF. Also, great crullers, bialys, and bagels. 😍 Spider-man knows 😉 …
John Terelle
I would normally not answer this one in order to keep it a secret for the nabe. But I believe the secret is out. Best donuts in NYC. Maybe anywhere! I once tasted a better donut from Homer the drummer of The Dap Kings for a shop he was going to open but i don't think that ever happened.
Saeed Hossain
Have been coming here for years, really like the place. Line can move slowly, the only reason for docking one star. They have a counter for coffee and donuts and bagel sandwiches. Have a number of exotic and seasonal flavors of donuts. If you can go on at not busy time it's a great way to relax.
A G
These are the best doughnuts I've ever eaten. That's not an exaggeration. I came all the way from Australia just to get these bad boys. The old fashioned crumb is the best thing since sliced bread. The polish ladies behind the counter don't have the best customer service skills but it doesn't matter once the hot, fresh and delicious doughy is in your mouth.
Nathan Selles-Alvarez
Watch out, your arteries will scream! Their donuts have little to worry about competition. Nothing comes close. Nothing.
But please beware. Hit the gym after you hit this place, as it is difficult to resist the temptation. Their donuts are simply on another level. Do not just think of them as donuts, but as an experience.
Andrea Barra (RiverSong)
Fresh, tasty, moist, original and old favorite flavor.
Alexandra Passarelli
For $1 coffee and $1 donuts, these are great!!! Simple and affordable shop for donuts, bagels, egg sandwiches, and coffee. Egg sandwiches are better quality than any food truck. The staff wear cute old-timey uniforms. Right now they have decent Covid-19 precautions - a little confusing, but it's fine.
Steven Motschwiller
Peter pan is a delightful old school bakery with some of the greatest donuts in NYC. They have some cool and clever flavors but their simple honey dipped donuts are truly masterful. Be aware that there is almost always a relatively quickly moving line and they are cash only.
Leopold Mathews
One of my favourite donut spots in the city! They have a big variety of donuts and other yummy stuffs! The donnuts are nice and fluffy! They also offer drinks and other stuffs! The staff is friendly and helpful!
The only downside is it's cash only, everything else is on top!
Stephanie Thorn
Best doughnuts anywhere. $1.50 a doughnut. Cheaper than dunking doughnuts.
Élise Lanciault-Breton
The donuts, the coffee, all was amazing and at a reasonable price! I dont give 5 stars because I wonder how they passed the health inspection test with an A. I could see in the kitchen, no one was wearing hair net, one of the girls was on her phone between 2 bagel order she was making, and last one... I saw on of them put perfume on right in the middle of the food action (she was not even trying to hide it)
Aiko Shimizu
This is one of my favorite doughnut places in the city. They have so many different kinds of doughnuts and they are open from about 4 in the morning!
The red velvet doughnut is one of the most popular items on their menu and while it's good, I personally prefer their traditional old fashioned or the seasonal apple cider doughnuts that you can get in the fall. Usually you have to go out of the city to upstate New York if you want really good apple cider doughnuts, but this is one of the few places in the city where you can get good ones without having to travel that far out.
This place is also a popular breakfast spot even though they have limited counter seating. We tried their breakfast bacon, egg and cheese sandwich just because we read a lot of reviews that talked about how good their bagels and breakfast options were, but we were a little disappointed. The bacon was dry, the cheese was hard and the egg was not fluffy. If you want to try this place, I would recommend sticking to the doughnuts instead of the bagels although there is usually a long line on weekends.
Mehfooz Aziz
Very good & taste donuts & beagle & Danish is Assam
Eli Lyakhovich
Donuts are to die for here. Sometimes the wait can be long because there is always a large amount of people there but its definitely worth the wait. They make them fresh everyday. And you need to try every flavor, its that good. Been going here for over 3 years now.
Isaac VanDuyn
Long lines, cash only, and I don't think the donuts are worth the hype... So why the four stars? The frikkin' apple fritters are INSANELY delicious and unlike anything else I've had. They actually melt in your mouth. They're huge. They're full of cinnamon. Oh man they taste so freaking good. Skip everything else, get an apple fritter...
...and if you're lucky enough to get a hot one, fresh from the fryer... Well, you might as well stop eating food after that, because you'll have topped out.
Christina
Great retro donut shop! The creme filled donuts are tasty and all pastries are fairly priced. I always stop by when I'm in Greenpoint.
Betsy Van Die
OMG - this was my first visit and I can see why it is always crowded. We got here around 11:30 am and they were well stocked with donuts. A very nice, patient, and pretty Polish young lady waited on us and recommended the sour cream donuts when I couldn't decide. This was by far the best donut I have ever eaten and a bargain at $1.10! It was even more delicious than the excellent, larger, and far more expensive donuts at Dough! Honestly, it was challenging only eating one Peter Pan donut. Glad I don't live in Greenpoint or NYC because I would gain a lot of weight!
Loved the cute outfits the young ladies wear and the old-fashioned counter where you can sit and enjoy coffee and donuts! My daughter wanted one of the baseball caps, but they don't sell them.
David Guzman
The pastries here are awesome! Doughnuts are amazing, over filled with goodness and just, YUM!! and smoothe creamy Coffee! OMG..... Can't do that every day though, gets very addicting!! lol, but I gotta say, be there either very early before morning commute to work, or go early right before noon to avoid the neighborhood Lunch rush, because you will be standing in line that pretty much will literally be out the door....🖒🖒 Way to go Peter Pan!! Keep bringing that goodness to the community...
Kristen Lee-Haug
Since we live in Greenpoint. Brooklyn and our entire relationship developed while living here, we wanted to incorporate as many elements, local businesses, and locations for our wedding celebration. Peter Pan Donuts has been a constant throughout our relationship because they are so delicious and live up to all of the hype; we had to include them somehow in the evening. Working with Donna who is so nice, professional, and courteous we were able to affordably order about 15 dozen Powered Heart Shape Donuts filled with their Signature White Cream; that is out of this world amazing. Donna and her team at Peter Pan were able to bake and package the donuts in their own bags and deliver to our Williamsburg venue with just two weeks notice. The donuts in the white old fashioned "You deserve a donut" bags were the perfect take home favors for our guests as they left at the end of the night and were a huge hit! So many guests became instantly hooked and wanted to know where to get more as they were the best donuts they have ever tasted. We cannot recommend their baking services enough for any celebration. We are so happy we could support a local business and give all of our guests a taste of Brooklyn as part of our wedding, we would happily order from them again!
Dan Schwartz
Amazing donuts in this part of Brooklyn. Always fresh and very dense. Not your average light weight Dunkin. Best to me are the apple filled crumb topping and the Boston Cream. Many varieties of jelly filled as well. Have not tried their other menu items but noticed many people ordering bacon egg and cheese sandwiches.
Abby Wheeler
Amazing old school donuts with a lot of variety. Very cheap too! Usually a short line (especially weekends) but it moves quick. A lot of vegan options also
Sowoon S
I love this place. Do try the various donut flavors but my favorites are red velvet and cinnamon-coated cruller. Their coffee is very nice as well so make sure to have a seat and enjoy the donut with coffee! No frills, old fashioned coffee shop vibe is sweet.
Christopher Odiamar
Perfect old school donut place. One of the best cake donuts I have ever have. Perfect consistency for coffee dunking. Also right next to my favorite rite aid. Also top notch glaze donuts.
The Mad Hatter
Doughnuts were delicious and fluffy! Cash only, but they are pretty big doughnuts for what you pay. Excited to go again!
Adam Cohen
Great place in green point, had a sesame bagel, a very good bagel chewy on the inside, crunchy on the outside, just the right size. Everything is old school, from the coffee cups to paper plates, which to me is a real nyc breakfast without the nyc price. Large selection of donuts, not too long of a wait during the week, but all indications are the weekends this place would be packed. Brought home a couple donuts, will post shortly on them.
Holly Leung
Lots of varieties in donuts and affordable prices! Will be coming back again to try all the different flavors!
Michael Edwards
The best 🍩 I ever had. Definitely the best in the five Burroughs. The only negative thing I can say is there prices have gone up but the doughnuts 🍩 are still delicious. …
Trevor Harris
Best donuts in North Brooklyn. These are real cake donuts. Get them while they're warm, they will melt in your mouth. My favorites: sour cream and maple. Sit at the counter and order a bacon egg and cheese that's so big, you'll need a nap when you're done eating it.
Kristian Volsing
Really helpful and friendly staff, delicious donuts and loads of varieties in a retro environment. Great value too
Charlie Shay
Cash only! I love the olden days vibe at this donut joint (it's actually a bakery and they do carry other pastries, but donut is what it's famous for) - from the decor to the staff uniform, it's got a nostalgia factor. The price here is also cheap, and the donut size is quite big. The donut itself was good, but didn't quite live up to the hype. Most of the ones I tried was overly sweet for my liking, although the texture was nice and spongey. My favorites here were the eclair, strawberry jam donut, and red velvet crumb donut.
Tip: If you're dining in, you can skip the take out line and order at the seat instead.
Sam Thomas
Best doughnut place I’ve been to so far in NYC and very reasonable prices, apple crisp and red velvet are my favorites
Alan Wong
I only need to get the Old Fashion from this place. It's simple but amazing every single time.
Red Velvet, Chocolate and Apple Fillings are a close second place.
I love the small diner feel in the back. Could be a nice date spot.
Dennis Grishin
I bought like 5 donuts and ate them within 2 days! They’re really solid for when you’re hanging around Greenpoint! They have just about any flavor. Cool old vibe and an experience!
Chris Gregory
Cheap and decent quality. Not super special.
Jose Cipreny
When in the neighborhood I always stop by for something sweet 😋 …
DARNELL WALKER
Great tasting donuts. Cash only location. Kid friendly. Pet friendly. Wheelchair accessible.
Nick Atkins
If you are in Greenpoint [or don't for that matter] and looking for a good donut, god-well get one. I personally went out in a snow storm to get Boston Creams, Old Fashioned, Jelly Donuts to name a few. This place is more than awesome.
eRika h
This donut shop is the best! The variety is intense and you will want to by them by the dozens. Their honey donuts melts in your mouth. I can't pick a favorite, that's how good they all are. Their muffins are great too.
Crystal Cun
Cake donuts in an old school diner setting. My preference is for yeast risen donuts but if cake donuts are your jam, you can't go wrong here. No fancy flavors, just classics like chocolate and red velvet, for about a dollar a piece. Ask for a donut ice cream sandwich in the summer.
Ryan Lafond
Everything is absolutely phenomenal. We went at 4:30am and it was a great way to end the night. I highly recommend starting your day there.
Mia McCurdy
It isn't a visit to NYC if I don't hit Peter Pan. They make the best Egg Everything Bagel in the city and their donuts are dope. Plus they were uniforms like its 1970 and I love it. Total neighborhood establishment.
Kris Ed
The doughnuts here are pretty good. Pretty fresh. I love that they arent that expensive. You have to go early to get more variety and better selection of doughnuts. I went here later in the night once and they were out of almost everything. The doughnuts I really liked were the honey dipped ones and the french vanilla cruller with incredible frosting.
Havoc James
One of Greenpoints last treasurers this legendary location has seen generations of greenpointers over the years and there not looking to stop anytime soon. You can feel the polish vibes just bursting out of this place and it’s a wonderful old school feel. In my opinion Peter Pan has the best bacon egg and cheese in all of Brooklyn hands down. And there’s nothing better then taking a few dozen hand crafted donuts home to your loved ones to enjoy and share. Peter Pan will never disappoint and the lovely ladies who work extremely hard there give service like no other true hospitality. Long live Peter Pan and go grab yourself a red velvet donut.
Maggie Lau
Delicious and fresh donuts. Bavarian cream donut is fluffy, lightly sweet and perfect. Don't fret, Tlthere are many sweeter options for those who prefer an extra rush of sugar 😉 …
George Li
Yummy donuts and friendly staff. Go get some donuts!
Heather Harteis
I came for a white cream eclair, and I was disappointed. The cream filling had no flavor, just fluff. Honey dipped donut was okay. This place was packed, though, so people must love it. Lots of people were getting breakfast sandwiches.
There is a takeout line, or you can wait for a seat at the counter. It's a small place.
antoinette tafoya
It was good but can't imagine 2nd in the nation. I got a red velvet, apple cinnamon and a chocolate cruller. The first 2 were very thick cake vs the cruller that was airy like a croissant. All a little different than expected but not bad. I'm sure if you can get there as soon as they open you will have an amazing experience.
Vin G
This pastry shop is a historic landmark, and there is nothing else like it in the surrounding area. When you walk in it feels like home; a feeling that it always had and always will have. The pastries themselves are delicious, so I highly recommend this place to anyone with a sweet tooth.
Koji Yamada
Regular customer. Exceptional taste without being one of these pretentious, overpriced flash in the pan places. Great value and the regular food (bacon egg and cheese on a toasted bialy) is excellent as well. Bavarian Eclair, Cream Chocolate Sprinkle, Chocolate Mousse Donut, some of my favorites.
Sheryl Yvette
Worth the trip to Greenpoint! This spot is like stepping back in time, with the counters and stools and the adorable uniforms the young women wear. It's renowned for their out-of-this-world donuts, and they easily live up to the hype. I hated to give them up when they went vegan, but I still buy them for other people.
Mitchel Loring
My favorite donut shop in NYC. So cheap, it's been around for years. Has a great old school/vintage/local vibe. Donut selection is incredible. Sit down at the cool undulating counter area, order yourself a donut and a coffee and start your weekend out the right way!
G. Brett Williams
This is everything you want in an old school donut shop. The donuts and pastries are perfect and the decor and seating look like they came straight out of the late 50s. It's charming af and the donuts are awesome.
Philip Bergqvist
A very tasty breakfast bagel and old fashioned donut. Ordering was a bit hectic since there wasn't much space inside the store. Cash only, but there's an ATM (Santander) just a few doors down.
Dianna
The chocolate cake donut is very yummy. Soft, dense, and moist.
The red velvet is a lot sweeter, and less chocolatey.
The maple has a pretty decent maple scent/flavor, though not a favorite of mine.
Alem Clarke
The donuts were extremely fresh, and have a big variety. On entering the ladies asked you if you want to stay in or order out there is hardly any wait time. This place pays homage to the old time diners.
Dashon Burton
I also visited today, but forgot to tell Google that I did so. That's how great it was. It made me put my phone down, stop reviewing, and enjoy my Sour Cream donut. Do they add mystery ingredients from other planets to make it taste better? I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if so.
Jon Martin
Not much of a sweet person but had to try since it was recommended. Tasted pretty normal to me, but atmosphere was good and prices very reasonable.
Daniel Pino
Atmosphere/layout: 12 to 14 seat counter for dine in service; sell bagels, muffins and other pastries alongside several varieties of donuts (at least ten by my count)
Service: A bit of a line but it moved it a reasonable amount of time
Food/drink
*Apple Crumb - Good
*Blueberry Buttermilk - Good
*Cream Chocolate Sprinkle - Good
*Honey Dip - Good
*Maple Cruller - OK
*Old Fashioned Glazed - Good
*Plain Jelly - Good
*Red Velvet - Good
*Strawberry Frosted - Good
*White Cream/Red Velvet Crumb - Good

If you know, you know. Peter Pan is timeless. You walk in and feel like you're in a movie set in the NYC of yesteryear. This place will leave you speechless, and make you want to come back to Greenpoint in a hurry.
Now the goods. Best donut, period. Whether you like cake or yeast, filled or ring, or are you looking for something special, you will find it here. Everything is affordable; most donuts cost about $1.
Shout out to Donna, Peter, Dmitri, and all the regulars. Extra big shout out to Big Bob Grady.
Alyssa Jones
Peter Pan is sooooo good and is a great little shop if you want to pick up some treats on a budget. I really like the blueberry cake donuts and the donuts that have a whipped cream filling (like the cream crumb).
Kevin Chan
I stop by and always go for a glazed, old fashioned, or boston cream. But now i discovered the apple pie as well. All 4 are great and has the taste of a classic doughnut. Airy and moist for the yeast donuts and moist and light for the cake donuts.
Shop has a old school charm of a classic bakery and the service was great.
Jesse Spector
The line was out the door when we arrived, but we got a seat at the counter quickly. Chocolate cake doughnut: awesome. Chocolate frosted doughnut with rainbow sprinkles: fluffy and delightful. Chocolate egg cream: perfectly done, and served with the rest of the can of seltzer on the side! The only problem is they were out of strawberry frosted doughnuts... guess we’ll just have to come back!
James Zahornacky
Delicious cake doughnuts and great coffee.
Dennis Denev
Get your pastry here . This shop has been here for a long time and donuts taste great.
Bob Stevens
It's like eating pillows. Delicious, light, fluffy pillows filled with creme. I'm not sure where the donut ends and where the creme begins. You just can't go wrong here... Unless you order the coffee.
True to form, the diner style coffee is brewed mean, perhaps to offset the heavenly pastries. While the donuts offer feelings of absolute bliss, the coffee will smack you upside the head.
Devon Reina
The donuts are killer (try the sour cream or one of the classics - although, you can't go wrong). Really cheap and 1$ coffee with free refills. I come here because I think Peter Pan is an important part of Greenpoint. There's community here and friendly common faces. Plus they're fine with me sitting and drawing in the corner for large amounts of time while still refilling my cup.
Deanna Shepherd
Long line but worth the wait!
carmen santana-perocier
The donuts are lite and yummie prefect every time, I never get heartburn from them either. Always a line but moves quickly, just hope they don't run out of the donuts you like!😉 …
daniele mesiti
some of the best donuts in nyc, doughnuts? who's to say! but the servicenis great, they accidentally misheard my order and instead of having her throw it away i just asked 'em to put bacon inside. she ended up giving me the donuts for free, which was super sweet. wish i lived in greenpoint, i'd go everyday
Krohini12
Great donuts and great prices. Real flavorful varieties to choose from. Only downside is the size of the actual place, it can get tight with just a few people on line. Otherwise it is worth the visit!
Joseph Januszkiewicz
Top notch donuts and an old school NY feel. I thought I misheard the cashier when she told me the price for my order because I couldn't believe it could be that inexpensive. Worth going out of your way for.
Haley C
To start, Peter Pan Donut is ranked one of the top 15 donut shops in the country! Actually, they are ranked #2 according to Business Insider! Rankings aside, this place is so delicious! I always bring every friend/visitor to NYC to this place. It's a MUST! Whenever you're in NY, you must make your way to Greenpoint, Brooklyn to try their yummy yummy goodies. My favorites include: Cream Chocolate Sprinkle, Apple Crumb and red velvet cake! Other options include; filled eclairs, cinnamon buns, crullers, and crumb donuts.
P.s. Come with dollar bills because CASH only!
Anna Lab
No frills, old school spot for delicious coffee and doughnuts. It's good, simple, and yummy. Slight downside: it's cash only and I don't always carry that on me. I wish they delivered!
Alex Hall
quaint bakery, extremely cheap, they even have egg creams!!
Stephanie Gross
GAH you are just the cutest spot ever to have a donut! I am still trying to make it over for Halloween to try what I have been told for Candy Corn lovers is an amazing Halloween themed donuts. Beyond affordable everything and very nice staff.
Stephanie Nyung
Love this shop. They are consistently friendly, the donuts are great and the coffee is the best. So affordable. Remember to bring cash!
A. Greene
The best breakfast. Fresh bagels...breakfast available all day. Twice as good as Manhattan and half the price. Conversation at the counter with the OGs. (aka the people who lived in Greenpoint first) Fresh donuts!!! Beware the weekend crowds. Stick to weekdays.
Leslie Salas
One of Greenpoint's gems and one of the best spots for donuts in the city. No-frills and CHEAP! So for those of you who balk at paying $3 for a donut, mosey on over to Greenpoint. Get there early, because by closing the selection is pretty sad. I would deduct a star for the fact that they always seem to be out of chocolate frosted donuts no matter what time of day I stop by, but I can't. Because the donuts are too tasty.
James LaVela
A charming shop to enjoy donuts, coffee, and assorted breakfast foods/treats. The only thing keeping this from 5-stars for me is its ‘cash only’ policy. Usually this is fine with me, but for hygiene’s sake during the COVID-19 pandemic, I really don’t have any interest in paying with cash if it can be avoided.
Steve Fox
Carolina, she's very pleasant, patience, and professional. I had a sausage egg and cheese on everything bagel. I'll definitely be eating here again. Thank you Carolina 👍 …
Pierce Conway
Awesome bagels and donuts. Love the lunch counter feel and the old-time prices. Our favorites were the bacon, egg and cheese on toasted everything bagel and the red velvet donuts.
Roz Kagan
great old school place. everyone goes for the donuts but the bagels are the best i’ve ever had
Eduardo Soto
Great donuts! Some of the best in NYC and they are only $1.10! Be sure to try out the sour cream and the red velvet donuts, though you really can't go wrong with any of them.
Helena
For a mere $2.25 I was able to enjoy a hot coffee and red velvet donut. The small place was packed so I took it to go, but it was well worth the trip. Already drooling thinking about my next visit.
Kendal Seidman
Love the donuts that comes out of here. They have one of the best selections out there. I do recommend trying them out when you have the time.
Esperanza Hope
The glazed doughnut was a little light on the glaze relative to the size of the doughnut, but it tasted fresh. Great value for money, don't forget to bring cash.
M
Want donuts? Can’t go wrong here.
Andrea M.
Cash only place but great tasting pastries 😊😊 …
Jeffrey Zabala
Delicious donuts but make sure you get there early. My friends and I absolutely love Peter Pan donuts. These are some of the best donuts you will find in the city and definitely worth the trip to Williamsburg.
Dana Ohlmeyer
Twenty years, gifting and consuming. French cruller is my throwback crave. But...Post Covid, a donut wrapper freely said she had not had the vaccine. (8/21). I blurted out, “That’s stupid,” stupidly, and was served by another person. Metropolitan Avenue is Covid alley, perhaps, since I met three other shop owners firmly against a vac. Scared to go back.
( BTW: St. Anthony-St. Alphonus R.C. Church nearby might exert some moral leadership to parishioners. Pope Francis has been vaccinated, to protect others. )
Dhimiter Llambiri
Don't listen to what anyone will ever tell you about those other donut places. 5 bucks for a donut... Yea right. Don't get me wrong Dough and Donut Plant are fine but Peter Pan is the essential, the original, the traditional and it has all the flavors that you love.
David Janke
I love Peter Pan donuts. We even make the trip from the upper West side because they are so good! The sour cream and blueberry glazed are my favorites.
chris lowry
Always great donuts and bagels. My favorites are the chocolate sprinkle cream donuts and the everything Flagel (flat bagel).
Brian P
As old school as you can get. This pastry shop has an amazing assortment of donuts and baked goods. Get there early because some of the more unique donuts will be gone.
Kim Juszczak
Old school donut shop with *the best* old school donuts. Dont go in expecting Dough Donuts with it's 5 dollar hibiscus longingberry gold flake crust. Want an amazing Boston creme or honey glazed donut? This is what you want.
Joe D
This place has great donuts. They're not fancypants donuts, just down-home, good donuts. If you want a hibiscus-orange donut with lavender sprinkles you should go somewhere else. If you want a nice, warm, delicious old fashioned glazed donut, or maybe a boston cream or chocolate frosted, this is your place.
Kris R
Best donuts by far! Great prices.
Ashley Lindner
Absolutely love this place! Their donuts are spectacular and muffins are to die for. Super moist , flavorful, and delicious. My new go to spot in Greenpoint.
Hilda W.
Donuts here are like no other place. Best donuts I've ever had!!! 💯 …

I grew up in that neighborhood moved to N.J. 20 years ago and still go back for the donuts and cinnamon rolls. They are the Best! Can't even compare DD

If you are a donut addict, you have got to go here. One of the best old fashioned donut places in Brooklyn. They have all types of donuts but the best are the simple plain ones like glazed or chocolate.

Love this place! It’s such a classic. Tasty donuts in an old school place served by very lovely faces. Have a seat at the bar or take them to go!

Pros:
- cream-filled Bavarian donut (fluffy donut, smooth & lightly sweetened cream)
- perfect filling distribution (each bite had a good ratio of filling to dough)
- red velvet
- coconut
- honey dip
- quick service
- GREAT prices (~ $1 per donut)
- cute, old-fashioned, homey decor
Cons:
- it was a little confusing where to get in line because the shop was bustling with activity, but I think it adds to the charm :)
- normal doughnuts don't cut it for me anymore (I used to be obsessed with Doughnut Plant, but PETER PAN WINS at life)
Bottom line: I went because Tina Fey told me to and I love Tina Fey so much so how could I not. To this day, the Bavarian cream donut is the best donut I've ever eaten and I can't wait to return.

This place is the reason I am glad I no longer live in greenpoint. The pressure of having to buy and eat a donut every time I walked by became too much. They had so many choices I was forced to try them all. Not to mention they insist on not charging alot so I was even made to purchase multiple donuts on occasion. Joking aside they make great tasty donuts in a crazy amount of flavors. The coffee is solid, but don't bother to get suar in it you'll end up on overload.

I grew up in the neighborhood and these have always been the best donuts in Brooklyn 🥰😋. Definitely recommend them especially the crumb cream one😋... …

Cash only- donuts and bagels ultimately - some cakes/pastry too. This is not a breakfast sandwich type of spot. Great for a quick donut and coffee if you have cash on you.

I LOVE PETER PAN! Their doughnuts are divine. I highly recommend the old fashioned cake, the sour cream, and any of the volcanoes... I live in Illinois and I would almost make the drive just for these doughnuts.

Adorable holiday donuts. I love the snowman shaped one. Got a dozen for the kids and they loved it!!
Pricey for donuts but they are good esp when warmed. Coupons available right now。

Best donuts I've had in NYC hands down, and so much more reasonably priced than these new trendy places (yeah, I'm looking at you Doughnut Plant). So many varieties too. I almost feel sorry for the sad little Dunkin Donuts shop down the street.

Get the coconut cream!!!! Trust me I hate coconuts but I'm addicted to it!

The iconic donut diner. Not only are the donuts fantastic but it feels like you stepped into a time machine when you walk in the door. When I am at Peter Pan's, I don't want to be anywhere else.

Fantastic Donuts, the sour cream are my very favorite. They are open despite the pandemic, and the lines are much shorter. Try to come in the morning though as they close whenever they run out

The frosted donuts and glazed were okay, but the black and white glazed stick donut is AMAZING! You really taste the vanilla and chocolate and its soooooo good

One of the only shops I know of that gets customers from all over the five boroughs. Great quality donuts + chocolate egg cream that are priced fairly for everybody.

Fabulous old-time diner feel, with a lunch counter zigzagging through the tiny white space. The donuts are $1 for flavors like glazed chocolate cake and autumn spice, and they might seem unimpressive at first, but once that taste kicks in you'll be fighting over the crumbs. At the very least, poke your head in and look at real old-school Brooklyn.

This place used to be my neighborhood gem, now it's a shell of its once grandois self. It is sad and extremely frustrating that no matter how early you get to the shop, there never seems to be any doughnuts out. Apparently, there's a new lazy baker, who never wants to make fresh batches of Doughnuts to satisfy demands. Not a reliable place to get your morning doughnut fix anymore and the customer service has become horrible as well. Since there never seems to be a person to acknowledge dissatified customers, I'll have to go out and find me a new place :(

Best baconeggandcheese on a roll or bagel in town!!! Donuts and pastries are mouth watering!! Expect a crowd but it moves quickly. Definitely a staple in NYC.

Amazing donuts fresh and tasty, reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and I'm not even a donut person but these were good

I stopped by since I was in the neighborhood since I don't usually come to Greenpoint ever. I was there at 2pm and there was a line surprisingly. The doughnuts were pretty cheap though - $1.10 for a doughnut. Most of the doughnuts are old-fashioned doughnuts. I tried their most popular flavor, red velvet. It was tasty, moist, and not too sweet. It's not bad for a $1.10 doughnut. Just FYI - this place is cash only.

Place has great donuts and the girls working behind the counter are nice, patient and work hard so leave a tip. Will not get a seat at the counter and hipsters with a cup of coffeeand discuss Nietzsche and that lated skinny jeans.
Caje Knight
Fun experience. Good donuts, nothing special about them, just good donuts. If you're close by, stop on in.

Sure I had heard great things about Peter Pan, but the real reason I went for the first time was because of Tina Fey's hilarious quote about the doughnuts. Look it up. She's right- the doughnuts are superb and super fresh. Doughnut holes won't even last until the end of the day without getting stale. And if a fried breakfast isn't up your alley (then we can't be friends!), the back of the shop has a small counter for egg sandwiches and coffee. And, the coffee cake is an impressive, inexpensive treat for the office or friends.

Great price and a variety to choose from. Not to say the least, they're good 😋 …

A staple of the neighborhood for sixty plus years. They do have a bathroom it is all the way in the back with an awkward walk through the kitchen. The baconeggandcheese on a roll is mad good. Also them doughnuts you gotta get them they are made to perfection and always mad fresh. Plus it's a short walk off the G train.

This place has been around since before i was a kid and the donuts have always been THE BEST! The selection has expanded but its the old fashioned that makes me come back to Greenpoint. The only drawback is the line can be horrendous at times.
Kendra Srebro
Usually a long line but it moves quickly! Have your order ready and cash on hand because they don't take credit cards. Amazing donuts and great bagel sandwiches as well.

Dawg this place was alright. Saw a lotta raving about it so I had ta stop in. Lemme just preface this by saying I'm from suburban midwestern america so I'm used to quaint little bakeries in every lil town with a lot of "oh ya sure you betcha" talk and that ish aint get NO fanfare. No celebration it's just there. Aint no hip urbanites comin from across town to check em out.
So what I got here was a big city replication of that experience. At least the prices was good like a buck ten per donut. That's nice. No frills little diner looking interior was classic and authentic. However the service was a bit...... how do I say.... snippy. That's new yoaak for ya though. Mite be fun to just hang out there for a few minutes just to hear how people say coffee "KWAAfee".
I got a chocolate sprinkle raised one, a cinnamon powder cake one and a chocolate cake one. The raised one was unusually good like a lil buttery creamy almost, it was nice. Made me say mmhmm as I ate it. The cake ones was just dry and crusty. Now maybe it was cuz I came in at like 4pm and the ish been sittin there for like 12 hours but that aint no excuse cuz this is america and donuts are a priority.
If you want something quaint this might fit the bill but also you probly in the wrong city anyway. For a donut in this city I say go all out and get Doughnut Plant. It's hip as F, expensive as H, gourmet as a MF, but it's unique and dam good. 3 stars for this ish. Ain't nothin super special rightchere.

I was lucky enough to live by this spot for ten years. Best donut spot in NYC. Anything you get will be great, I always go for the sour cream old fashioned.

Old school donut shop. The coconut donut is heavenly.

A jewel of jewels. Hot blueberry donut, egg/bacon/cheese on a roll, and a hot coffee at the counter
