Reviews of Levain Bakery - Harlem
They’re okay cookies. They taste better warm. I’m just a bit disappointed because I placed a pick-up order on Postmates and they left out one of my items. I didn’t realize until I was already home. Also, I ordered 3 double chocolate chip cookies because I don’t like dark chocolate and I didn’t want nuts in my cookie. Took a bite into my chocolate chip cookies and it tasted like straight dark chocolate. Maybe it was a mistake, but on my own personal preference, I wasn’t satisfied with the taste, which is why I ordered double chocolate chip cookies instead of their dark chocolate. It was way too overwhelming of a flavor for me to enjoy, unfortunately. The cookie part without the chocolate chips was good though— nice and buttery.
Came here to taste their famous cookies and It didn’t disappoint me!! Chocolate and texture are amazing.
Really nice and welcoming staff, good take away coffee aswell
I was really excited to try Levain's cookies, the hype was real. And they didn't disappoint. Best cookies I've ever had in my life. Crispy outside, but super super soft and moist inside and super deep flavour. Just amazing. We tried the original, really nice, but the dark chocolate and peanut butter one stole my heart. Never had a cookie like that one. They were also super filling. What a place.
By far one of the best cookies I have ever had. If your love gooey cookies these are definitely the ones for you. Their cookies are huge, crispy on the outside and gooey- almost like a cookie dough on the inside. Their coffee is pretty good too. Definitely worth stopping by!
I got this package for my birthday and was so happy with the taste. I ate the chocolate with peanut butter chip straight away and then had one after warming in the oven that night. Both ways = five stars.
First off let me start off by saying I have been eyeing this place for a while, as I am an extreme foodie and have an obsession with pastries. I walked in there today as I said to hell with my healthy eating this week. & I got 4 cookies named two chip chocolate chip cookies for my family. When I got home, I heated up the cookies got a glass of milk and sat with my family. The cookies are AMAZING, the thickness, the moisture, pure goodness. I’ve had some great cookies from plenty of places but this was by far the best cookie I have ever tasted. Definitely a hidden gem in Harlem
Great cookies. Very expensive - I think I paid 5 dollars per cookie - but there's no getting around it, the flavour and texture are top quality. Good range of flavours too. Really enjoyed it - just wish it was a bit cheaper!
This place is absolute love! Their chocolate chip cookies and donut are my favourite since teenage. They are consistently preparing the best quality cookies. The best in the city!
Cookie monster here! Omg best cookies in the entire world! And look how ginormous it is, a must try in NYC!
Location: It is located in Upper West side, interior is small and only take out!
Service: not really interact with them, just buy and go! But you might ask them if it is your first time!
Food: Everything was so delicious and ginormous! You will love all the flavors! CHOCO CHIP WALNUT: this the original flavor, this is so good! Best choco chip cookie I had! Big chunks of chocolate inside! DARK CHOCOLATE CHIP: omg so dark and gooey! Perfect for tea! DARK CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER: this is my favorite!! A must if you go! The chunks of peanut butter pieces is just heavenly good! I don’t usually like peanut butter but this is an exemption! CHOCO CHIP BRIOCHE: meh, sorry this is the list I like here, the brioche itself is hard and taste old, maybe only that day. So just by cookies!
Price rating: 7/10, the price matches all the deliciousness! Not bad for all the goodness.
Been here multiple times so I am sure I am going back for the gooey deliciousness cookies! Get the DARK CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER!!
First time trying their cookies. I got the fudge one and it was so good! The cookies are pretty big and warm. Great start to your day with a cup of coffee as well. Employees are welcoming and courteous. Meter parking in front.
Perfect combination of gooey and crunchy in one humongous cookie!! This is our favorite cookie - it's very yummy, chocolatey but not overly sweet. The Harlem location doesn't get too busy like the ones on the Upper West Side so it's perfect for us.
The best cookie of my life. You must experiment it!
If you come to NYC, you have to try Levain cookies.
Those are super chunky and may take you a long time to finish.
I love the walnuts and chocolate cookies.
Bread from Levain isn't my favourite, but that isn't what I go to this shop for.
One of the best cookie spots in the country. Luckily there are many locations. The cookies are fresh, huge, soft, and will melt in your mouth. I would go every week if I lived in NY. The dark chocolate chocolate chip is my favorite. But the chocolate chip is solid too. If you have a sweet tooth and love cookies, do yourself a favor.
I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again! Levain has the best cookies in nyc. Sure you’re gonna pay a small premium, but that’s NYC. There’s lot of other bakeries that charge more and don’t offer half the flavor that these cookies have. We got the classic chocolate chip walnut as well as the chocolate peanut. The chocolate peanut veas out favorite. Fortunately there wasn’t a line, service is efficient, the space is small but very clean and we will continue to always come back when we’re in the area!!!
Love Levaine! EVERYTIME I have guests or when traveling out of town I bring Levaine Cookies!! Always a BIG hit!! Always fresh, Always delicious. Dark chocolate peanut butter my fave, but original chocolate chip is a close second!!!!
Their cookies are the best, everyone who I take there wants to go back. Their Chocolate chip walnut, and Dark chocolate chocolate chip cookies are my favorite. 👍🏾 …
Definitely lives up to all the hype. I never knew a regular chocolate cookie could be so decadent but this one is rich with just the right amount of sweetness. You will definitely need a latte or glass of milk to have along with it! Can’t wait to try another flavor next time!
No doubt the perfect chocolate chip walnut cookie - crunchy on the entire exterior and gooey melt in your mouth in the interior. A bit pricey for $4 a pop, but while these aren’t the biggest cookies they are quite heavy. Cookie I got was warm, they’re pumping them out constantly. Decent coffee as well. Head to Morningside Park and enjoy!
Let me tell you something about this place... You don't have many options but the flavors are there.
The cookies are big and soft with the crunchiness from the outside.
The attention is very good and if you want of course you'll have different drinks to pair with your cookie.
You don't have places to seat because this location is for to go, but two blocks from there you have a beautiful park with benches. Levain is my option for cookie time!!!.
Amazing sweets. I got the dark chocolate peanut butter cookie. Oh, man is it good! Almost no line. Just about a minute wait. I came during the week Christmas Eve around 3.
The only thing was the hot chocolate. With two small sips, I actually only got about 2/3 of the cup actually full. The taste isn’t all that great either.
These cookies are no joke! The classic chocolate chip cookies are crispy on the edges and soft and gooey on the inside. If you have nut allergies, beware because the walnuts are what make them delicious. Make sure you have a glass of milk ready, which they sell there if you can’t wait to make it home for your sweet treat. Fun to watch the massive amount of cookie dough being shaped into perfect mounds.
Amazing!!! I can't explain what is the cookies! They are the best in NYC and in the world! Awesome!!! The local is tiny, but the taste is gorgeous. In Harlem, you don't get big lines.
I wish I could have the cookies recipe. 😍 …
5Stars to this place.
The best cookies I've ever ate in my life.
Definitely recommend. cc/apple pay is accepted.
The best cookies I've ever had. The chocolate chip and walnut is their signature, but the dark chocolate and peanut butter is also amazing. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
I heard a lot about this place and it took some time to finally get there. I’m so happy I tried something that wasn’t their popular item because now I know they’re truly delicious.
Atmosphere: it’s a bakery kitchen with a small sales counter and barstools. It’s very clean and looks very orderly. The staff was very diverse and everyone looked to be in a great mood. Smells not too sweet and very clean.
Food: I tried the muffin and I was so pleased. Damn that’s a good muffin. Lots of egg and butter. Not much sugar. It’s dusted with sugar but the muffin isn’t too sweet and I was happy.
Service: fast and friendly. No one was there when I was ordering. The crowds started pouring in when I was sitting outside. I could hear the counter people greet everyone. Everyone seems to love this place.
I’d return many time. I wish the cookies were cheaper. They’re definitely delicious.
I love this place for the walnut chocolate chip cookie. I highly recommend you try it but make sure it's hot or at least warm so you can really get a feel for the gooey feel of it. The cookies are $4 each and defiently worth it.
Came to Levain Bakery with my girlfriend, and it did not disappoint. Hands down the best cookie I have ever eaten in my life! The chocolate chip walnut is unbelievable. It was so satisfying and tasty. Staff was also very friendly and personable. Amazing.
I had been dreaming of trying these cookies for years!! They fully lived up to the hype!! You have to try them when you’re in NYC.
Three stars for the service (prompt and pleasant) and for the baguette with jam and butter. But it’s the chocolate chip cookie Levain is famous for, and I am struggling to understand why? The size? Because it’s not for being baked, or for flavor. Same goes for the oatmeal raisin cookie. Just call it a dollop of raisin cookie dough. If you don’t care about the ‘gram, skip the cookies. Free tip, Levain: add some vanilla extract and some cinnamon. For the oatmeal raisin, add the same and oatmeal.
These are the best cookies I have ever had and I will try! I'm not exaggerating, the first time I tasted it, my eyes watered from the spectacular taste! Magical flavour and texture!
While visiting, my husband and I decided to stop by, as this bakery was on lists for some of the best cookies in NYC. Many reviews said beware that there could be a long line, but after we had brunch, we stopped by a little after 11 am I believe, and there was no line, only a few people in front of us. We purchased 1 chocolate chip walnut cookie, and it was perfect. My husband and I split it, and it was just the right amount for both of us. The cookies are thick and filling, warm, sweet and salty...an overall great cookie.
A crazy Aussie friend told me about this place and I didn't believe him. Today I was walking by and stumbled upon Levain Bakery in Harlem (the original one I think is somewhere in W 70s) so had to check whether he was right. And he was, I got two chocolate chips and walnut cookies which I have to say where amazing and the best I've had so far not only in NYC but in the U.S. Super tasty and filling, I need to go and get more. Not pricey either at 4 bucks each, money very well spent. They also serve other cookies and cakes which I did not try so I need to go again. Coffee available too but no seating in this place, only take away. OMG the cookies were so good!
Their cookies are amazing. They were warm and gooey. Very satisfying. Tried the Rocky Road cookie wasn't bad at all.
Cookies are just delicious. It's just the only word to describe them. It's love in cookie doe format. 😍 Always fast service and friendly faces. …
Having wandered around Central Park for three and half hours we needed a pick me up and saw this place on trip advisor and google. Was worth the extra walk as the cookies and brioche were outstanding.
Quality bakery !
I tried a couple of their cookies months ago while in NY and I’m still thinking about them! Delicious! No wonder they’re award winning. And awesome service too.
This place has the best cookies in NYC. Simple as that. They have the best cookies. Get the $4.00 chocolate chip walnut. Don't mess around. Get two or three. Tiny seating area. No bathroom. Coffee is good but you aren't here for the ambiance or the coffee. You are here for the cookies.
Chocolate chip walnut are my fave! Some of the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had.
These cookies are my reason for living! Before you laugh, EAT ONE. What you consider high end confection will change forever. The only bakery holding a candle to these guys is Dominique Ansel, and he's a legend. STOP READING, GO GET YOU SOME CHOCOLATE WALNUT COOKIES RIGHT NOW! RUN, DON'T WALK!!!
Best cookies I have ever had. If you DONT like big cookies, with gooey/soft centers, and instead prefer crisper cookies, then dont come here! But this is one of the best cookies I think you'd be able to find otherwise. Each cookie is 4$, a steep price, but they are certainly addictive. I've been to 3 of their other branches in NYC/Long Island and can't get enough still. This location is very small, and the venue looks significantly smaller than their two other NYC branches, but the quality is the same. I only came here once, but it was perfect just as the other three branches, so you'll get consistency in what to expect. Just two tips: don't think about the calories and don't think about the price.
These cookies are sooooo good! They are rich and delicious. A little more like a thick cake cookie. They are a little pricey but worth it. Get as many as you can!
Love their bread, the attention from the nice staff, their paper bags for bread and the smell of coffee from the espresso machine inside the bakery kitchen, this mix of fresh amazing baked sourdough bread aroma and the still, a bit oily very oleasant aroma of brewing a fantastic cup of espresso coffee, this mix is unforgettable.
It was my first time going there and unfortunately it was during quarantine. But they provided excellent service during this difficult time. Also everything smelled awesome. Also attached is a photo of a slice of their bananna bread loaf. Yes that's one slice I can't wait until I can break my fast to eat it.
Cookies here are excellent but it's the people working there that really take this place to the next level. Their the staff is great. Incredibly helpful. Always masked. Always polite. They might have a line out the door and I always try to order quickly, but they never make me feel rushed. I once came in very late in the day and asked for a lot of cookies to bring to a gathering on short notice, and they were able to box up everything I needed and send me on my way.
I have eaten literally every single thing on the menu here, and every single thing was very good to fantastic. Special shout out to the butter and jam sandwich, which is astonishingly good.
Love this place , I've been going there for the past 5 year and it never disappointed me. However @levainbakery it would nice to give the customers a chance to tip while using our cards
Everyone know they have the best cookies in the world. Hands down. No competition!
Super awesome cookie!! Here is my favorite bakery
Awesome bakery, definitely a must-try. If you pass by, make sure to get the walnut chocolate chip cookie. It's a little pricey, but life changing.
A small bakery with a big bite! I anxiously waited till home to warm the massive cookie. The chocolate chip walnut cookie had a slightly underdone middle contained in a crunchy exterior. If you like a lot of chocolate chips, this is for you. The price tag is a bit much but worth it for a one stop.
Amazing cookies! Coffee is good too. Very friendly service. It's a very small place, so you'll probably need to take away.
Kindly staffs, Delicious cookies.
Two chip chocolate chip.
Oatmeal raisin scone.
Chocolate chip walnut cookie.
Amazing Cookies to go with a Delicious Devocion Coffee .
Wow what a moist ooey-gooey cookie. Love the double chocolate chip, and oatmeal raisin (who knew!). They are worth the price. Not in a great part of town, but still a great bakery.
Levain cookies have now become part of every family gathering. Everyone begs me to bring them! They are so gooey, comforting and rich in flavor. Probably the biggest cookie you’ll ever have and worth every penny! The peanut butter chocolate is a fan favorite and definitely the winner in my book. Don’t miss this bakery if you’re visiting NYC!
Chocolate chip and walnut cookie was my favourite! Peanut Butter Double Chocolate cookies are a must try!
Small shop but the lines are shorter than the w 74th location. Some of the best chocolate chip walnut cookies in NYC. Much bigger and heartier than traditional chocolate chip cookies. Prices were $4 per cookie. If you have a sweet tooth, one per person is fairly manageable.
The best cookies in the world.
It’s a must if you are visiting NY.
Oversized cookies that are perfect for sharing. Great staff
Good, chewy & crispy cookies and a pretty good latte! Great service as well. No seating apart from a couple of chairs outside.
All I know is that this place is AWESOME!!!!! I went to get a oatmeal raisin cookie, it was more like a oatmeal raisin biscuit. I will definitely be back.
Lovely place and service! The coffee cake, lemon loaf, and the pumpkin loaf are AWESOME! Thanks LB!!💯💯💯💯💯 …
Fabulous food!!!! Cookies and cakes alike are superb. Please take advantage of this gem, you will not be disappointed. Not to be forgotten are the friendly staff who keep the store afloat.
Today was the first time I'd been to Levain. I got the 2 chip chocolate chip cookies. They were moist, thick and delicious. I will definitely return to try other goodies.
I ordered cookies delivered to my apartment and they were incredible. Huge and soft. They arrived quickly. They even sent me a little postcard with my order. Such good customer service. I'll be ordering their cookies many more times.
Delicious cookies, it might seem a bit pricey at first ($5 per cookie) but it's worth it in the end. I just missed a white chocolate option there.
Don’t know why they don’t have 5 Stars?! What’s there not to like about perfectly baked cookies that take a whole day to eat because they’re large and in charge!! Love Levain. My first time at this location and the quality is always consistent from shop to shop. Chocolate chip cookie lovers…get your bursa over here there or to any Levain!!!
Great cookies if you’re not dairy free.
I loved the triple chocolate 10 years ago before I became dairy free. I asked 9-10 years ago if they’d please make a diary free triple chocolate cookie, or any dairy free cookies for that matter, and I’ve repeated the request over the years to no avail. Please Levain 🙂
It’s worth the wait!!! Look how thick these cookies are. The prices range from 3.50 to 4. There were also some other bakery items.
Best cookie i've ever had! Highly recommend if you visit NYC :)
best cookies in the city if not the whole world!
Chocolate chip walnut is incredible. $4. Very large, gooey and warm. Blueberry muffins also very good - best I've had in New York $3. Chocolate banana bread is another go to for me. They really have great bakery not just the name. Super friendly staff too - always a warm smile and positive experience!
Living 1.5 blocks from this bakery in South Harlem. Definitely it is one of the best bakery in the neighborhood. I love their bread.. And cookies.
Most decadent cookies ever. Try out their chocolate chip walnut and dark chocolate cookies. There wasn't much of a wait at the location we went to (Harlem)
Little tiny place. Saw a hand-ful of options, so unsure if there were more somewhere but what we got, double chocolate chip cookie was delicious!!
Warm, soft cookies 😍 they're totally worth the hype …
Went at 4pm on a Tuesday and there was no line! Delicious oatmeal raisin cookie.
Somewhere in the world, there may be a chocolate chip cookie that is as good as Levain's, but I doubt you could make a better one. Their pastries and breads are great, lemon cake is another favorite that, even as a baker, I really enjoy from them. The staff is amazing and friendly on every single one of my many visits.
I absolutely adore coming here and getting myself a dark chocolate chocolate chip cookie or two. I most definitely recommend this place if you want a nice warm fresh made cookie while in NYC 😊 …
I have not visited this location but i have eaten these cookies many times. Top notch.
Amazing flavour. A desert is equivalent to a full meal for a European 😁
You should definitely try this during your NY stay. …
Best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. Worth the wait
First time at this location the Place was small and clean (very important) plus the lady behind the counter was attentive, we picked up 1 of each favor cookie except for the gluten free option. We Only tried the Chocolate Chip walnut so far I know it’s early but we came away impressed, after being a bit skeptical from other google/ yelp reviews this cookie was nice and crispy on the outside moist and chewy on the inside (heated up in the oven for 2.5 minutes) a perfect combination I’d say, out of all of the Cookie places I’ve tried in the city this place is the best.
Love Levain! The cookies are gigantic, and amazing!! The other baked goods also delicious.
Yummy and delicious! The cookies are a bit expensive, but they are huge and more than worth the cost! Personally, I love the dark chocolate with peanut butter chips, but my friend loves the chocolate chip with walnuts! Whatever you get, they are always freshly made and tasty!
One of the best dark chocolate peanut butter cookies I've ever had. :)
First time trying it and I must say I am very impressed. The walnut chocolate chip cookie is very tasty and the pumpkin loaf is good too. They ran out of some items I ordered but the young lady was nice enough to offer me an exchange.
I tried the baguette w/ butter&jam, and I loved it! Very tasty and affordable.
Some of the most delicious cookies I've ever eaten. Although their selection is limited, there is something for everyone (oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate, etc.). Very small store, but even if the line is long it goes pretty quickly. Definitely worth the $4/cookie price tag since one cookie is enough for 3 people.
The chocolate chip cookies here: Oooh my goodness! Mind blowing! They're chewy, crispy, chocolatey, moist, delicious, and they're huuuuuuuge! My husband and I had them but we need to bring our two children here to experience a REAL chocolate chip cookie!
Highly recommend the oatmeal raisin scone and blueberry muffin 💥🤤 The friendly and kind staff was really helpful. Check it out if you are around. …
Nice cookies - only 4 flavours and a bit overpriced ($4 ea) but if you are in the neighbourhood it worth a try
Their cookies are kind of insane - plus they deliver ☺️
This place is has amazing cookies! They have a limited menu, but these cookies could be a meal or split between multiple people. I can't decide between chocolate chip walnut, chocolate chocolate, or oatmeal raisin. They are all delicious. This is only 1 of the locations, but the lesser known spot so never a huge line. Definitely reccomend the place...
An existential and spiritual rebirth awaits anyone that purchases a Levain cookie. It, and all its variations, are heaven-sent. One bite will take you back to the heavenly cosmos from whence it came. Let us bow our heads and give thanks.
Soft and moist in the middle.
Pretty thick. Size of 3 cookies in 1.
Best cookies in NYC hands down! Super helpful and polite staff as well. The chocolate chip brioche is soft and absolutely loaded with chocolate chips. The sticky buns they make on the weekends are also a must-have. And pound cake lovers will have a blast with their variety of pound cake flavors.
Made a long trip here on a cold weekday. I had the chocolate chip walnut cookie and it was probably the best cookie I’ve ever had. Yes, better than Chip! Everything in the cookie balances out and their dough is amazing. I also ordered a cafe au lait which was yummy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be making more trips here during this cold winter and forevermore.
Hands down best chocolate chip cookies in the whole wide world! Crunchy on the outside, soggy on the inside with walnut chunks. It is pretty big, so great for sharing. Other flavors are good as well, but chocolate chip is my absolute favorite.
This was amazingly delicious stuff. They're using KAF flour which is regarded as some of the best stuff to bake with. Top notch baked goods.
Honestly, the cookies were way too sweet. They are $4 each which I think is pretty pricey, even for Manhattan. The texture of the cookies was good, and the employees were nice. I would recommend this to anyone who likes VERY sweet cookies.
Crunchy, soft and delectable. Its probably the most satisfying cookie you'll have in a long time if not ever. Really enjoyed the chocolate-macadamia nut cookie, probably the best. They have great coffee too, enjoyed it all at central park a few streets down.
I loved this place. Yes, the cookies look like biscuits. Yes, I may have had better cookies, flavor wise. But, these have the best texture! Soft in the middle. Almost cookie dough like, then crunchy on the outside.
Cookies are heavy! I had to carry them home.
They're cookies are so chewy and fresh! I originally saw them on the Insider Facebook videos and they looked so mesmerizing. When u break open the cookies, it's just gushy gooey chocolate in the middle. Although $4 may seem a little pricey for a cookie, it's well worth its price. One cookie can be shared my two people and they honestly stay soft in the bag. We bought them before going into central park on a cold day and by the time we had found a spot (which was a 15 minute walk) I opened the bag to see they were still warm.
Awesome gooey cookies. Great service
Been waiting for years to try a Levain cookie! So glad I got the chance. Friendly efficient staff and great treats!
Best cookie I've ever had!
The cookies are as good as they look. When I went I had chocolate chip and walnuts and an oatmeal cookie available (I liked the oatmeal better).
I also purchased a chocolate chip brioche. The brioche tasted great but it was hard but after its warmed its heaven.
They have have a few locations. I heard a new one on Douglas but this particular one in Harlem is small it has like 4 seats 2 against each wall so I wouldn't say it's like a place to lounge while you do work.
But the overall definitely worth a visit.
I was fortunate to have lived just hundred feet away from this store. But, it was never empty. I always had to wait because of the long queues. But, it was totally worth the wait everytime. Their cookies have no match and I'm glad they are opening two more locations in the city.
I loved their chocolate chip cookies. They put their heart in their creations. Definitely one of my favorite places in New York!
This bakery is worth its reputation! The cookie I ate there was amazing, the $4 price is totally acceptable.
After three years, I'm still thinking about the cookies I got from Levain. I got a 1/2 dozen (chocolate chip and another kind...chocolate chocolate?), and they were THE BEST COOKIES I'VE EVER HAD. The ~$4/cookie were worth every penny...gooey inside, just slightly crispy outside. The staff were very nice, and were working hard to keep up with demand...there was a line out the door. I will 1000% make a trip up to Harlem next time I'm in NYC (I live just outside of Toronto) just to go to Levain.
Oh man, I've come here way more than I should and I blame this for not being able to lose weight ever during college. Levain's is simply to die for. Their cookies are legendary monsters that will help you gain a pound, but you don't even care anymore. I've had the chocolate chip -- wonderful. Moist, crunchy, filled with ingredients of high quality, and ooey, gooey center that can almost burn your mouth if fresh out of the oven. Their chocolate cookie was filled with chocolate flavor and was so, so rich and decadent compared to many other cookies in the city. Absolutely amazing cookies.
Sometimes, if you come at the perfect time, they will hand you the cookies that just came out of the oven and, being someone who thinks burning their hands and mouth is worth it, I think that's the best the cookies can get. It's like having molten cookies that still have this structure intact. Amazing.
Bakery that sells unreal cookies and scones. I've had their cookies in the past, which are crisp on the outside but have a dense, moist and chewy center... and I recently tried their raisin scone and it was so much buttery flaky goodness I wish I had bought 5 more. If you've never tried Levain, you are missing out!
05/03/16: You just can't beat the original. Small upfront but with a lot to see. Cookies were tastefully good and enjoyable. My wife was on a mission to try these cookies since she read about them.
We had one of each and I can say this... we bought a lot big cookies to bring back to Portland, Oregon for our family and friends.
Definitely worth a try and decide for yourself. Wife and I would go back for more.
I had a dark chocolate and peanut butter cookie which was fantastic. They're not cheap at $4 each, but they're not normal cookies, so i think it's fair. The coffee was reasonably priced and good quality. Staff were really upbeat and friendly, both to myself and others.
The blueberry muffin is my fave!! (I haven’t had any other pastry.) Cool bakery that has an open kitchen. A few stools inside, but there is more public seating close by. Staff are always pleasant & welcoming. I appreciate that. I highly recommend! Glad this is in the neighborhood of my job. :) the baked goods are always fresh - meaning they don’t give you the display muffins. Yay!
Amazing chocolate chip cookies and good black coffee. They take Apple and Android pay
PLEASE make a chocolate chip cookie without yucky walnuts! They are too hard to pick out and even when you can they always leave behind their distinctive (terrible) flavor. Could you just divide the batch and make some without? How hard would that be? I tried the chocolate peanut butter chip which was good, but I want the famous original (without nuts)!
Simply the best cookies. Chocolate chip Walnut wins it all.
Still remains an excellent cookie on the west side, I had to get some and I also tried their amazing donuts. They also have gluten free cookies.
These cookies are an expensive habit to break! Indulge wisely!
Excellent service with fresh warm and tasty desserts.Try it for yourself!
I decided to work my way through the full range of cookies before posting, just to make sure.
But yes they are amazing, warm and fresh every time. Must eat still warm for the full experience!
If you're near here don't miss out, but done come after a full meal, you need room!
I came here once about 12 years ago with my dad and brother. My dad had read a review about the "best cookies in New York" and thought that it would be a nice treat. We decided to walk there and spent about 3 hours trekking through New York City to find this tiny bakery that offered cookies the size of my fist. At the time they were the best cookies I had ever had and as we sat on the little bench outside we ate the cookies and listened to the city experiencing a very rare moment of peace and satisfaction.
3 years ago I found myself in New York City again with my partner. I had told him about the Bakery and we decided to retrace my adventure almost a decade before. We arrived at the same place ordered the exact same cookies and I sat on the same bench completely bowled over at how I was having the same experience again.
The baked goods here are incredible and perhaps my sentimental attachment to them sways my opinion but I can't wait until the next time that I am in New York so I can do it again.
I was hesitant to stop by after seeing all the photos and reviews in reference to the lines that wrap around the corner. My local friend also asked me how bad the line was when I said I went there. Well I didn’t pay much attention as to the days or times these lines were so bad but I can tell you that around 9am on a Saturday there were maybe 4 people inside aside from me and two were waiting for their order and one was behind me. I walked right in and got my cookies and left in less than 5 minutes so I am not sure what the deal is with the waiting. I have to check with I get a chance but I could swear they had plain chocolate chip cookies but apparently they do not. I got the chocolate chip and walnut cookies and OMG…I have never in my life eaten a better cookie. It was almost magical how they pulled this masterpiece off. Each cookie weighs in around what a small child weighs at birth. I ordered 4 cookies and he gave me the bag and I almost dropped it because I wasn’t expecting to need such a firm grip.
The outside consisted of a thin layer of crispy but not crunchy goodness. After breaking through the crisp exterior, it quickly caved in to the soft and warm interior. “Caved” in is a perfect description because that is how it felt as you broke through the outside. The inside felt like it just exploded. The flavor of the cookie wasn’t something that could be described as the best cookie I ever had. However, the experience of the exterior mixing with the interior was what bumped up the stars at least two places. I would possibly brave the well-documented lines for another cookie if I wanting to share the experience with someone who hasn’t been there before but I don’t see myself standing in a line around the corner if it were to get another cookie. I would absolutely go there again if there wasn’t a line of more than 10 minutes.
If you're going for cookies, you absolutely came to the right place. They're beyond description -- just amazing. If you're going for morning pastries, this place is GOOD but not THE BEST. The cookies really are the star of the show, for good reason.
Nice huge cookies for 4$ each. Recommended ;)
There is absolutely no question that this incredible establishment deserves every one of this five star rating. The pastries are buttery and delicious, the bread is divine, and the cookies are beyond words. Double chocolate chip is worth every penny - and every calorie.
Levain’s has the best chocolate chip cookies!!! They are gooey, and have a unique, extra thick shape. I have never had a dessert there that is not top notch!
Easily the best cookies in New York.... Try the dark chocolate chocolate chip ones
As if a cookie was just a cookie. Levain's bakery cookies are edible pieces of heaven. Unfortunately I am a recovering cookie addict as of today I will not be having anymore of these cookies ever(or maybe til next week hehe). With a selection of 4 monster size cookies and a couple of more baked goodies I would highly recommend this place to anyone
Loved the baked goods.
Frowned at the prices.
This location bakes fresh on the premises, but there is no seating area. This location is a takeout counter only.
3 stars for no seating and high prices.
No one can carry a 5 star rating for product alone!
(Cookies are about the size of a doughnut and cost $4 as of 12/2/18.)
Cookies are incredible. They are bit pricy at $4 a piece but you get a massive cookie ( about 3x as big as your normal cookie). This location is great since the the food is the same, but the lines aren't as long as the main shop.
Delicious cookies, but very tiny storefront. Be prepared to crowd in.
Always in for a good treat coming here, love me some cookies. Coffee is especially good to wash down the sugary delights. Worth the trip
There are only a few chairs, the place was just meant for a quick sweet tooth fix. Buy and go kinda thing. We did not have the melting gooeey chocolate in our cookie based on the video that we watched. Nonetheless, it was still a delicious cookie. Not the ordinary cookie you can get from a grocery store. It did not meet our expectations in terms of the melting chocolate in the middle.
Lapin and I were in the area and we smelled something sweet in the air. The alluring scent lead us to the doorstep of this fine bakery. When we arrived, there were three people before us but the line was gradually getting bigger. Be warned, there isn't much space so plan on getting your order to go. I got the chocolate chip walnut cookie ($4) and Lapin got the blue berry muffin ($3). The muffin was just okay, it had big blueberries exploding in each bite but the true star of this visit was the cookie. The cashier gave me a freshly made one and oh my god, the chocolate, the warm goooey pieces!! All mines! It was like bits of heaven. My only gripe, I just wished it was a tad cheaper so I can support my habit.
Perhaps the best bakery in NYC. Great cookies! 🍪 …
The cookies here deserve their tourist famous reputation. I prefer the dark chocolate, but pretty much all of them are excellent. If you're in the area, they're worth a try.
Always top notch cookies and super friendly staff. The cookies are perfectly made and super addicting. The quality of both make every of my many purchases here a great experience. A great and must visit place in west harlem.
Small space does brisk business especially on weekends selling colossal soft cookies packed with flavor. Also on offer: great coffee, scones, and brioche all well worth the prices attached. Must try their dark chocolate peanut butter chip offering.
The best cookies around the world!
Yes. This cookie is the best one I’ve ever eaten.
The cookies here are realllllllly good, especially if you’re in the mood for a THICK, moist, gooey cookie, rather than a crispy caramelized cookie.
Some reviewers mentioned long lines - I live down the street and have never had to wait longer than like two minutes but ymmv.
If you’re not a cookie person or just want something a little less sweet, the brioche is really good. I get that more frequently since I know how to make good cookies at home but haven’t had the courage to attempt brioche. Sticky buns aren’t so great. Other pastries LOOK good but I haven’t tried yet.
Overall I don’t think levain is really a destination but if you’re already in the area and want baked goods it’s worth checking out!
No line on a Sunday and just as good as the tourist spot further south
DO NOT tell me you "love" cookies with your "whole heart" or that cookies are your "favorite dessert and snack" if you've never tried Levain's options. Cookies here are like droplets of dough from heaven. Yes, I did write that and mean it. I cannot actually comment on the other pastries, though I've heard excellent reviews. Drop by for a cookie at either location and change your world- for the better!
We tried the chocolate banana bread, double chocolate cookie, peanut butter chocolate, and the blueberry muffin. The peanut butter chocolate cookie was the best. The cookies look like muffin tops but are soft, gooey, and delicious. Must have milk to wash down the richness.
Small place with little counter space... visible back area where baking is done .. we watched them knead big mountains of cookie dough. Ok these cookies are humongous they have weight to them my friend bought half dozen and the bag felt like it was close to 5lbs maybe exaggeration but just to give an idea. They aren't cheap on the choco chips either i heated the cookies up at home and it was dripping chocolate. Everything i ate was delicious if you can warm them up its a plus. Ill revisit
Came all the way from Atlanta for one of these cookies. They are amazing and huge! My favorite is the chocolate chocolate chip. This location usually doesn't have a long line compared to the one in Manhattan
I've just had the cookies and that was enough for me to know how awesome this place is! At first you think the price is too high but then you have one cookie and it just changes your mind. Definitely the best Bakery of New York!
Really delicious scone-sized cookies. At $4 a cookie it is a tad pricey, but worth every penny. Chocolate Chip Walnut is fantastic, perfect blend of cookie/chocolate/walnut with a crunchy exterior and moist interior.
They sell four flavors of cookies and, boy, these people know what they are doing! My favorites ones are the regular chocolate chip and the peanut butter. Be aware, it's very buttery - as any delicious cookie should be.
The cookies are amazing, they're warm, and a little raw dough on the inside makes them super delicious. The cold brew coffee is kinda bad but I guess you go there for the cookies and not the coffee
Never had a cookie so good. They are legit the best and I can’t wait to get the dough when it’s in stores!
This particular one is tiny because it's primarily a take away space. However, the bakery is a site to behold. You can smell and see the baking process. Almost reminds you of a laboratory - but a crunchy, bready one! Dark chocolate peanut butter cookies is my absolute favourite. I don't think I can ever enter a Levain Bakery outlet and not have one of these! Sinfully darklicious! The peanut butter actually melts in your mouth. You do get coffee as well, and it's not bad at all. They don't have restrooms [they suggested Starbucks for that] or much space to sit inside. There's a bench or two outside, but no tables - it's more of a waiting bench.
Drool worthy cookies. When you get cookies from here, do yourself a favor if you take them home: please heat them up on a toaster (please don't do a microwave... that's just savagery) and lean back with some ice cream and prepare to have your mind blown.
We were lucky today and there was no line up so we walked right in and bought three cookies, chocolate chip walnut, oatmeal chocolate chip and chocolate peanut butter. All of the cookies were still warm with their chocolate chips and peanut butter still oozing as we took big bites. These cookies are to die for. Just go buy yourself a few. Now. Just do it.
These are the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had! They made such an impression last time that I made a special stop just for them. The Harlem location is a little small, not much room to sit, but they had plenty of cookies.
The chocolate chip walnut is maybe the best cookie I've ever eaten? The cookies are large so enough to split with someone. Not a huge selection but they also have brioche options as well.
The first few bites are so good, then it's just unbarebly sweet for those who want to enjoy a dessert but not half a cup of sugar. Unless you're eating it with milk or coffee to balance it out. Chocolate brioche is also good but the taste of the chocolate filling used in it is just OK.
Every since they were rated having the best Chocolate Chip Cookie, I had to put this place on my Cookie Hunt. This place did not dissapoint. It was everything and more. I was in Harlem and had to do the Harlem Shuffle to get this cookie, which is $4.00. Happend to find a parkijv spot around the corner and jumped on line. This is a very small location that can occomodate only 4 people inside at a time. I was expecting to get a cookie from the display case, but was treated to a cookie right off the rack. This cookie weighted more than a softball. The crisy outer layer provided a nice crunch while the middle melted in your mouth with cookie dough and chocolate chips. This place was amazing. Cannot wait to go back.
Yes, yes, the chocolate chip cookies are the best in the world. Think of a baseball-sized ladle of dough cooked perfectly so the very middle remains delectably soft. They're large and thick, heavy, like a burger. But really, if you are so mesmerized by the cookies that you miss out on the scones and the blueberry muffins, that is your serious loss. Because you can only eat so many cookies for breakfast before you feel guilty, but nobody would ever fault you for having a scone for breakfast. Seriously - try one soon.
LOVE LOVE LOVE their cookies. Crispy on the outside, gooey in the center. The perfect cookie imaginable.
If you Love cookies, this is definitely the Harlem spot. Be prepared to spend about $4 per cookie. Then take a tour of the neighborhood. I would head North towards 125th st to see the Harriet Tubman statue, Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Bldg and the World's Famous Apollo theater. It's worth it.
OMG, the cookies are warm and HUGE! Their hot chocolate ia homemade, not package
I believe this is the second branch of the original but the cookies are still amazing. The double chocolate chip are for true sweet teethers and all their cookies are nice and crunchy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. Also highly recommend the chocolate chip brioche.
Big and filling cookies. I've eaten the dark chocolate chocolate chip. It is hot and full of chocolate melting as you bite. However, I haven't liked this hotness of the cookie. Also, too much hot chocolate together with sugar in the dough made me very thirsty.
Who would say no to that big, gooey chocolate cookie?!
I love taking a short stroll down here in between my classes and picking up a cookie or two for the day's sugar boost. One cookie big enough for three servings.
$4 per cookie totally worth it. Even better is this new location doesn't have a wait. Their 75th street location can have you waiting down the block but I only had to wait 2 minutes for my cookies. The staff here is really friendly as well.
So good. I indulge on the chocolate chip brioche, splurge on the dark chocolate peanut butter cookies and respect the whole wheat raisin walnut bread. Sorry, no pics because I'll eat them faster than I typed this.
One of the best cookies I've ever had. $4 each. Quieter than the ones either side of the park. No space inside so plan to takeaway.
Very dense, rich and decadent cookies!!
Truly great cookies! We tried chocolate chip- walnut, oatmeal raisin & chocolate peanut-butter chip. We expected to like the first one best, but the other two were Also excellent.
This were the best cookies I've ever eaten. If you eat one it's enough. They are very soft and tasty. I think I will go there soon again.
The cookies here were bomb. They had four kinds of cookies at $4 each. The cookies are so huge and nice and gooey on the inside. My favorite as the chocolate peanut butter one.
Their cookies are fresh and yumny. It's so worth it when you want to cheat on your diet.
We love their decision to keep it simple and do it amazingly well! There’s only four cookie options, but they’re all amazing (Chocolate Chip Walnut). Get a blueberry muffin too!!
Those giant chocolate chip cookies are amazing! So much chocolate flavor in every single bite. It's a real treat to come here and enjoy these amazing sweets.
OMG!!! I don't even have words for how good the cookies are from here. I make it my business to get cookies anytime I'm in Harlem. I'm so addicted that I've even ordered and shipped them to friends. I first heard of these lovely bakery on social media and the madness began for me.Each time is better then the last. I'm never disappointed. I will say this. If your on a diet. STAY AWAY from this bakery LLOL
These cookies are incredible. Based on pictures and blogs, I felt this place would be overhyped, but I can tell you, the hype is real people!!!! From pictures it appears these are cakey cookies, with a crisp edge. The best way to describe the texture is basically like a really soft baked fudgey brownie or half baked cookie dough.
The best cookie i have ever ever ever had in my life!! I really wish you guys deliver in Brazil cause now i am not able to eat any other cookie. Dont go to NY and miss this, is a peace of heaven.
Yummy cookies and cinnamon roll!
Without a doubt, best cookies I've ever had. I don't think I'd recommend anything other than the cookies though. I like this place better than the other one on the upper west side because I think this one's usually less crowded.
This place proves there is an afterlife. Because you know when you arrive in ur version of "heaven" there will be fresh from the oven prepared, Levain Bakery cookies.
I was fortunate enough to pick then up when they came out and we'll I was on my way to the birth of my 1st child and they ruined the moment. Didn't even bother going to the hospital, knew the moment was ruined...
YES SO GOOD. This bakery is right off of the subway stop for 116th St on the A-line. Multiple mornings during our stay here, we hopped off the subway just to hit up Levain for breakfast on our way to Uptown. So good
Much less crowded than the UWS. Same infamously delectable cookies: fresh out of the oven, large and full, crispy outside but magically gooey inside. Skip the line and go to the Harlem Levain to satisfy your guilty (or not-so-guilty) pleasure!
Amazing croissants!! I've never been to France but I imagine croissants in France to taste like this. My favorite is the ham and cheese as it's flaky, buttery, and perfectly savory. I also really enjoy their kouign amann, which surprisingly still tastes pretty good after leaving in the fridge overnight. Highly recommend!
My sister told me about it, and when I visited home recently, I was DETERMINED to get one of the Chocolate Chip Cookies!! OMG!! I should have asked if they ship their products!! Mouthwateringly delicious!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😋😋😋 Next trip home, I'm going back!! …
First Time going and they were delicious.
People think Levain's cookies are good but the key is the chocolate chip banana bread. Good place to go for a breakfast coffee and pastry, quite compact but has ~6 stools to sit on
Absolute deliciousness. Do not spend time in Harlem without treating yourself to a Levain cookie!
I make sure to always treat my out of town guests to Levain. It's not a cookie, its an experience. Thank me later :-)
A secret gem in harlem! These cookies are seriously amazing and it worth to spend a cheat day on them. It's usually not crowded like other Levain locations and the people are nice. There is no seating area available but pro tip: Grab some milk from the Rite Aid across the street and walk to Morningside Park to enjoy your cookie!
Amazing cookies. Huge! They also have coffee.
Right there with you, Isabel. As good as the cookies are, the scones are even better, if you can believe it. Just try them, trust us. Haven't had a chance to try the blueberry muffin yet, itching to get one!
What's not to love about Levain?! Go and try their goods– you will not be disappointed. And presently, there is a limited edition cookie ( that's a treat in itself since)
The best cookie I have ever had!
Amazing cooking. Was not sure how cookies even can be five stars at all before I tried these. Big and delicious, crunch on the outside and soft and warm on the inside, these cookies are the must for any sweet tooth.
The cookies are great but a bit too sweet. Love the peanut butter chip chocolate cookie! The walnut-cinnamon bun is very good too but a bit dry—though I absolutely love that there are big walnut halves in it and not ground nuts.
I'm not a chocolate fan, but the chocolate chip was delicious. the cookies with a nice crisp outside but very gooey and moist inside.
Friendly customer service and the line seemed to move quickly.
WONDERFUL Customer service from Chelsea - their Team Manager! I was unable to place and order on line and called and she not only walked me through it with patience and grace, she made suggestions about things etc and made sure my order got out on a timely basis.
Having a good product is very important, matching it with amazing customer service makes it incredible!
Thank you Chelsea>
I call them life changing cookies! These are, without a doubt, the best cookies I've ever had. My favorite is the double chocolate chocolate chip. Also, it's probably fasterto take a subway to this branch, ans go home, than wait in line on the UWS branch
Best cookie ever! And fast, friendly service.
Hands down my favorite cookie, full stop. They are decadent and delicious and dense in that "why can't they put more cookie in my cookie" way. These calories are worth skipping lunch for!
Products were very nice (oatmeal and raisen cookie & cinnamon brioche). However price was too high ($4 for a Cookie) and the shop layout very unwelcoming (not clear where to queue, people stood in front of the door, no space, sun beating through window).
Without a doubt the best cookies in the city. Personal ranking chocolate peanut butter > chocolate chip walnut > double chocolate > oatmeal. This location also almost never has a line making it much better than the UWS location.
Stopped by to pick up a few treats for dessert and stumbled upon the yummiest chocolate chip cookies in this area. At $4 a piece, these cookies will not disappoint. They have other baked goods too. Friendly staff :)
We came here after Giada DiLaurentiis recommended their double chocolate chocolate chip cookies. So we ordered one of those, and one of the chocolate peanut butter chip cookies. Both were gigantic and amazing. I really wanted to go back, but never found the time during our trip.
I am a sucker for cookies and the best chocolate chip walnut cookie you'll ever have is at Levain Bakery. Even though it's a bit out of the way, I always make a stop at the 74th location on every NYC trip.
This last trip we were in Harlem any way and decided to try this newer Levain Bakery location out. It's a little bigger than 74th Street but looks commercial and sterile inside. I ordered my usual (chocolate chip walnut cookie) and it was not at all warm. It's still a good cookie, but it's the worst Levain cookie I've ever had and hope to have.
Do yourself a favor and skip this location and walk a few blocks to the 74th location. You won't regret it!
My friend bought me a chocolate peanut butter chip cookie from here for my Birthday and it was awesome! It was huge and delicious! I would definitely go back here. I want to try all the cookies.
Excellent bakery though a hike if you are coming from Columbia University. I prefer the cookies, but going for the other baked goods are a good choice as the selection seems to be bigger here than the 72nd Street location.
THE best cookies I've ever had. I tried the chocolate chip walnut cookie and the dark chocolate peanut butter cookie. Both were unreal. Super gooey and moist. Highly recommend!!
Yes, the price is justified.. And they opened another shop couple of blocks away that sells the same cookies without the searing heat in the basement.
Worth it ! Come to Chicago Levain ... Or maybe DONT , will gain a few pounds a week for sure
never liked marshmallows or smores...and then I took one bite.. PURE HEAVEN! Strawberry and Cinnamon Pecan are my faves.. oh yeah and their Rice Crispy treats... and the bark, and the biscotti...OK..I'm sure you get the picture.. GO GO GO
Amazing cookies like you've never had before. At least 3 people recommended that we try it during our visit to Harlem and they were spot on.
A must try cookies 🍪 adress in the neighborhood, far less queue than the other location in New-York Upper West side. Do not hesitate to take other pastries such as the banana bread with chocolate chips, also worth it ! …
The cookies are delicious! A lovely, indulgent treat! Just wish you could get the chocolate chip walnut sans walnuts.
Best cookies in NYC. I love how hard they are on the outside while being perfectly dough-y on the inside! The oatmeal raisin cookie is my wife's happy food.
Always on the hunt for the best bakeries. This place generates some of the thickest cookies and pastries. They are soft and delish. Had the double chocolate& oatmeal raisin. 😋 …
I don't know why but these cookies are honestly the best I've ever had. They are always crunchy on the outside and moist on inside!!
Nice Harlem outpost for the UWS favorite.
As a baby boomer, milk n cookies addict, the best bakery chocolate chip cookie, other than my homemade, with nice size walnuts i can before i bought them...I have to discipline my sweet tooth cravings quite a few times
Absolutely unparalleled delicious gooey cookie. Could be served warmer. Location is a little bit cramped. Will definitely be back though for that scrumptious dark chocolate peanut butter cookie.
This location in Harlem is more of a "know what you want/need" when you walk inside. It's a short entrance and doesn't show much variety of the products listed on the website's menu, instead it shows the top sellers which are the chocolate chip cookies and banana bread. I would suggest the other locations in midtown.
Really always the best Cockies 👏🏼( chocolate almond) …
Cookies.... Glorious, glorious cookies. The only things missing is for them to sell the cookie dough. Although when you bite into it... You're almost getting the straight dough. It's melty, warm and gooey.... Everything you want a cookie in your mouth to be.
Very friendly staff and welcoming. I bought some brioche this morning, nice and fluffy. Made my morning 🌄 😊 …
Normally the service is good. But today I was dissatisfied with the service. I brought a oatmeal raisin cookie as always. The cookie was hard and I want to exchange it but because I touched it they would not give me a different cookie.
If you like cookies. muffins and scones along with great coffee, you'll love this bakery. They're all over the city now and well worth a stop.
The cookies here are amazing, I've tried them all and they are truly taste like bites of heaven.
Most amazing cookies I have ever eaten. You won't regret trying the chocolate chip walnut!
Oatmeal cookie was amazing.
Dangerously good cookies (every flavor is my favorite...), and they are very consistent. Shut up and take my insulin!
The best cookies I've ever had. Hands down. Decent size; you may not be able to eat a whole cookie in on sitting.
Love the dark chocolate chocolate chips cookies it's very rich, Great for chocolate lovers. The baguettes are amazing!! Let's go try it peoples:-)
The people are nice and the cookies are unbeatable. I recommend getting some right after eating at Melba's!
This location is so much better than the one on 74th Street. I am convinced that most weekends one person could get in line on 74th while their friend takes the train up to 116th, gets a cookie, and returns on the train to 74th street before the other person gets their cookie. Anyone want to give it a try?
Love this place. They always have fresh cookies and customer service is great; if the cookies are a bit over baked they are honest with you and everything else about this place makes you come want to go back
As always the cookies are fresh and delicious. The service is great!! My go to spot for cookies.
limited but wonderful selection. They don't overwhelm you with too many choices but everything looks so good! then you figure out which ones are your favorites and order the same things every time! perfect little neighborhood shop for a pick me up
Great friendly little bakery. They even have a gluten free cookie. Everyone who came in seemed to have their own favorite and this was one busy place, even in the winter rain.
Best cookies ever!!! They are the size of scones but not heavy and absolutely delicious!!!
Once tasted, always wanted! Craving for it everyday!
Their cookie is just as big a the empire state. You can have lunch, dinner and breakfast with a single cookie. Completely recommendable in case you are around. Dont miss it
you will enjoy this place and the bakery goodies they have the children would love the chocolate chip cookies recommend this place 90% hope you enjoy chocolate chip walnut cookies Services fantastic staff is very friendly and the children will enjoy a great chocolate chips cookie.
The best cookies I've ever had. They're soft and gooey and delicious.
The fact that I smashed a huge pancake breakfast over at Tom's and then basically rolled all the way over to Levain to still try and fit in a cookie should tell you that there is absolutely no reason you shouldn't be eating one of these amazing cookies right now.
Amazing baked items. Everyone knows the cookies, but you’ve gotta try the scones. (Could have better coffee).
Best cookies I've had in my life! Well worth the price. Wish we had a Levain Bakery in Montreal!
Their cookies are MEALS. Absolute fav is the chocolate walnut cookie. They usually serve warm. Fast lines, friendly workers.
Loveeeeeee the chocolate chip walnut. I'm addicted. For four bucks you get a very decent size cookie that will definitely fill you up.
The cookies are great. Everything else is pretty pretty good too. This is not a low calorie bakery. Enjoy!!
Smells delicious. Small bakery, get your goodies and get out. So good, what a treat! Huge cookies. Best banana bread with melty chocolate.
I got some cookies to take to my family in the midwest. I know they're going to love them!
Great cookies, totally worth it! It's close to NYU so you can walk through while you're enjoying your cookies.
My favorite cookies in town, always fresh off the oven. the wait can go as high as 40min, but worth once in a while!
The bakery is a tiny place with a couple of bar stools to sit and eat. Right next to the Harlem Tavern.
The baked items were good, a tad too sweet for my taste.
Tasty baked goods, packed with delicious food that would make your mouth water! I love the Walnut sticky buns that are only available on the weekends!
The best cookies in Harlem! Staff always friend and quick. Avoid Weekend Morning as the lines can be incredibly long
Big ass cookies! Great flavor, however I can't say the same about the presentation. One of the cookies I bought fell apart inside the bag, it was very messy to eat.
If you are in that rare moment where a cookie is too sweet, just try the baguette with butter and jam! Excellent hot chocolate to make it a "meal!"
The cookies are so delicious! They're great for a gift for someone you truly love! (especially a guy)
Very nice staff, and clean bakery. It's a real treat having those cookies especially now.
I really appreciated on of the bakers washing their hands and cleaning the knife before packaging my order. Their treats are really yummy and worth the price!!😋 …
So delicious. Oatmeal Raisin and Chocolate Chip cookies, and warm out of the oven (sometimes). High quality deliciousness!
Amazing and enormous cookies! The chocolate chocolate chip is my favorite. Scones leave something to be desired.
The best cookie you'll find in Manhattan. Also - the line here is infinitely shorter than what you'll find at their UWS location...
Best cookies ever. But make sure they're warm, they're still great cold, but not the same.
Place is really small but the service is very nice and the chocolate chip with walnuts & the oatmeal raisin cookies are awesome.
Clean place and amazing service. Hospitality is beautiful from the workers. They just need a pamplet for directions on different ways to eat the products and how to reheat each product.
Don't overdose on this deliciosity of the cookies. Four (4) stars because I haven't tasted everything. Pricey but worth every bite.
Cookie was amazing. Crunchy on the outside, nice and chewy on the inside. I had the Walnut chocolate chip A1
Delicious and best cookies ever. And no wait compare to the 79 something street location. Same quality!
Crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside. The chocolate chips are liquid and the rest melts in your mouth with it. AMAZING cookies!
Best chocolate chip cookies around. Large, soft & warm. Worth the $$$
Best cookies around hands down!
They are about $4 a cookie and so worth it!
Staff is so polite and friendly.
You can't go won't with the Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie! Looks like a biscuit. Slight crunch on the exterior, warm and soft in the interior of the cookie.
The cookies are world changing. Huge and they still taste amazing throughout the day!
Earns the reputation as NYC's best cookie place . . . and rightly so. Please try their scones, brioche, and muffins as well.
Those cookies are to "die" for. My personal favorite is the classic oatmeal raisin. So fresh and yummy.
The biggest and tastiest cookies you may ever have. You haven't seen a cookie until you have seen a Levain Bakery cookie
I absolutely love these cookies! I live in upstate NYand every time I'm in the city I get them.
It's ok, but underwhelming. The baguette was rather dry. And they don't make sourdough. Come on, these days you have to offer sourdough.
Best cookies ever
They somehow make the cookies taste like cookie dough even after being fully baked. They are amazing!
I had a chocolate chip walnut cookie soft and big like a scone. I truly wish I took a picture for ever go again I will take a pic.
One of the best cookies I've every had. Not a ton of options, instead they stick to a few that are out of this world.
Fair prices and delicious options. There's a reason there is a line so often at this place. I wish they experimented a bit more with their flavors , but still a good place :)
The word "legendary" is overused. Levain's isn't legendary. There are no gods or monsters. There are, however, the best chocolate chip cookies in NYC
The cookies are amazing. The service was excellent. Definitely going to make this a go to when I’m in the city.
Small storefront but big flavor. Had to try the world famous chocolate chip walnut cookies and wasn't disappointed.
Never a line at this location! Sometimes there is a line at the store on 74th, but not this one! Their cookies are absolutely perfect!
Delicious and velvety textured cookies that are inexpensive and melt in your mouth with every bite. Not overwhelming with choice.
I'd pay $5 for each cookie! Totally worth it. Clean location the staff is professional and the cookies are out of this world!
Best. Cookies. Ever.
Courteous staff, amazing cookies (I mean they're HUGE, well cooked exterior, soft interior, full of flavor), and never been disappointed when I go there.

THE best warm cookies the size of my fist. Outer crust and soft middle. Mmmmmm
awesome tasty huge cookies!!!
Just as good as the original location but without the insanely long lineup. It took us less time to drive to this location and get cookies than to wait in the line at the other one.
The cookies are so amazing that even if you don’t like cookies, you’ll be delighted with them!
These cookies are sooooooo good I highly recommend them what u waiting for go go yours now.😘 …

The peanut butter dark chocolate cookie was amazing. $4 but very big and soft!
Wonderful cookies, although a little bit pricey. No line at this location, unlike the 74st location
Some of the best chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies that I have ever tasted. Warm and fresh with a slight buttery crunch.

It’s great. Yes, it’s pricey but 1 bite is enough for a day. Huge line in UWS but no line in Harlem location
Cookies to die for. Eat your heartout with just one, two for reassurance. I recommend them.
Very good cookies, perhaps the best in NYC. Not too sweet.
the 'cookies' are more like a scone/muffin hybrid, but they're amazing
