This is the real deal. I found a great source for cream cheese danishes. So tasty, with a hint of lemon. Triangle shapes. I ate it all up with a cup of coffee before realizing I should have taken I picture for this review. Heights Bakery has donuts, all kinds, and the glaze donuts are amazing! Plenty of free parking. The shop is so small, only 3 people are allowed inside at a time. When I showed up there on Saturday morning, the was a line of 5 people outside ahead of me. No worries, the line moves quickly thanks to the friendly, efficient staff inside behind the counter.

Delicious! I tried the long johns donut, cranberry orange muffin, and coffee cake. It all tasted great especially the coffee cake. I wished I could have taken a picture when all the pastries were spread out yesterday. Anyway, the baked goods are flavorful and heavenly!!!

By far, the absolute best donuts in Minnesota!! Of the 24 donut shops/bakeries that I have tried so far, this is THE best. I can not say enough good things about it. Every donut and pastry is perfect and haven't had one that wasn't. One of the few bakeries I keep revisiting and would buy 100% of the time if it was closer to my home or work. Heights Bakery is an 11 out of 10.

Solid donuts that seem very traditional to me and perfect for the long twisted style. Also seem to have fresh moist apples in the fritters which I don't think I've run into before but enjoyed, banana ones were great too. If you call ahead you can get you pick of the menu even if you can get there til later

I am a donut connoisseur, so I know a good donut and the Heights Bakery has great donuts. One of the best apple fritters I’ve ever had, a great glaze raised, good chocolate and maple bars (aka Long John’s), and tasty cake donuts. Will definitely be a return customer!

This place is an average donut shop. It’s not awful, but there’s not much different from other small shops. I guess 9am is too late on a Thursday? They had some decent donuts, and they get a lot of business. Could def be worse. I think an average person would find this place just fine

Hockey Legend Lou Nanne says that Heights Bakery has the best donuts in Minnesota. That’s pretty high praise so I figured I’d check it out. It’s a small place. Lots of donuts and choices though. I had a chocolate glazed cake donut, a chocolate raised donut and a lemon filled pastry of some sort. Very good all around. I don’t know if they are the “best”, but they certainly aren’t bad. Really good donuts. Even better prices. Dollar for dollar, these are the best donuts I’ve ever had. And it’s not close. The low prices encourage you to buy more pastries, which is good and bad I guess. There is nowhere to eat the donuts in the store if that is your thing. It’s literally a showcase, and that’s it. Grab and go. Perfect for covid-times. I’ll definitely be stopping in again as I go up and down central seemingly all day most days. Give Heights Bakery a try. If it’s Lou Nanne’s favorite, it’s good enough for you. You think you’re better than Lou Nanne? You’re not. Try some donuts at Heights Bakery. You’ve earned it.

Been living in the area for over 10 years and visited this place for the first time this week. Its a bit of a gem in the Fridley area. Really nice doughnut selection and the croissants were really good. As much as I love Dunkin Doughnuts for their coffee this place has better doughnuts for cheaper. If you go with the croissants go next door to Jerusalem Market and pick up a jar of the Puck Cheese. You can thank me later!

Best donuts in the Twin Cities!! A hidden gem for sure. The cinnamon twist rounds are my absolute favorite (which are being refilled in my photo of course...so the tray is missing)!! Although everything there is delicious and they have a huge selection too! The ladies working are always to smiley and sweet too!

How can one go wrong with donuts?! Heights Bakery really knows how to craft their donuts. Also their take on a cronut is beautiful. Small town charm, great prices, and wonderful food.

It seems we've acquiesced to living with an oversupply of partisans, hustlers, and crooks. To quote folk singer Todd Snider: "Republicans, that's what scares people these days...that and Democrats." There is hope in the countervailing force of donuts. Let us gather in our local shops and eat together. If we all did this every day, we'd have little to worry about. Heights Bakery is a good place to start. Their maple long john with nuts brought the word "apotheosis" to mind. I'm not sure I know what that means but it sounds like a good thing: "This is the apotheosis of a maple long john with nuts." Go forth, brothers and sisters, and eat our world into a better place.

Best donuts (and other deliciousness) in MN!!! Must go!!! I’ve sampled a lot of good baking here, and God knows MN is full of top notch baking, but this place is the best I’ve had so far. Their donuts are not the run of the mill fried confection. Their dough is soft, dense and flavorful without being drenched in glaze. And their flavors are on point. We’ll be going back for more! And I have it on good authority their other baked goods are worth the trip (bread loafs, rolls, etc) too.

Stop by, already! My coworker introduced me to the treats here and I am so glad he did. I had never tasted such fresh and delicate desserts! The Danish pastries are the best I've ever had. I've made a point to try Danishes from every new bakery I go to, and none have compared to the ones here at Heights. Pistachio muffins are a favorite as well.

This place is at least a 15 mins drive from my location but worth it every time. My favorite is any fruit-flavored filled croissant. Absolutely excellent. I love that they have so many blueberry items, they're all excellent. Great products & great prices, it's my favorite bakery as someone who values flavor more than decorations.

Been going here since they opened up. For first timers, I want to let you know that they are not open all day, they open early morning and close around 10am. The donuts are great, you can tell that they put in effort into their craft. They also sell coffee, milk, and juice. They have a great variety of donuts and the people behind the counter always have a smile on their face.

The best fresh-baked donuts I have ever had. Just be aware that they are closed on Sundays... which always seems to be when I crave their Donut Deliciousness. Also bear in mind that it is a family-owned business (which I like) so the entire shop closes for family vacations.

Classic local bakery, tasty breads and pastries and nice folks working there. They're better than the 4-star I'm giving them but I can't give a 4.5 rating. Selection is a little limited - but they always have good stuff and I always buy more that I should eat ;-)

The best donuts in the Twin Cities! My favorite is the twisted cinnamon round, but you can't choose wrong because everything I have had is amazing. Their buns and bread are great too. I have ordered cupcakes and cookies for parties before and everyone loved them.

Where to begin? This is an outstanding bakery! Bought glazed cinnamon bread the other day that was the best I've ever had. Their bismarcks are nicely filled and all the pastries are so delicious and fresh. To top it off, everything is very reasonably priced.

You know I love this place. It old school. Good stuff for a good price. Nothing fancy like a Rustica croissant but great for donuts and breads and just good stuff priced fair. I went to get a long john with Maple glaze and toasted coconut but all they had left were some white frosted ones. The lady said if you want I can just take it's d slap some Maple on top and coconut it for you. Craving satisfied!

Awesome little gem!! The banana donuts are fantastic, and the almost as big as your head apple fritters actually have apples in them! I live in crystal and drive up here for treats and buns!! PS—to the few people “complaining” about being closed in July—this is a family business—I think they’re entitled to some time away. They always post on their door weeks in advance that they will be gone so if your a regular customer you would know this anyways! Thanks heights bakery for all the awesomeness!!! ♥️

Consistently good donuts. They have a large variety of donuts too, from raised, to French and cake donuts. Not to mention the cronut is the best - really heavy, buy delicious. I have yet to try their other bakery items, but with the consistent quality and flavors of the donuts, it has to be good. The lines aren't usually too long, except on Saturdays. Also don't expect to sit down to enjoy them - this is strictly take out.

A family-owned bakery that focuses on doing a few things very, very well! Their breads, donuts and pastries are some of the best I've ever had. I'm a sucker for the Onion Rye bread and the Sour Cream Danish. The staff is always helpful and friendly...even on their crazy Saturday mornings.

I personally cannot eat their baked goods as I’m celiac but I stop by almost every weekend to get my husband and kids something yummy on my way back from the gluten free bakery. The cronut is a favorite in our house. They love them. Actually, they love everything I bring home from here. The staff is extremely friendly and the choices are great. I’ll definitely return almost weekly so long as they keep up the awesome work.

More reasons to go than not. Good Vienna bread! Nicely affordable- little beverage area. Which is really smart for A neighborhood bakery.. Decent prices as well. Although some stuff out by the counter ((in the customers area)) is really dusty...... That needs to be cleaned up !! Thats my only real knock & it cost them A half star. As does their average chocalte frosting.

Superb donuts, the raised glazed are the best! Icing does a great job of covering the whole donut, texture is nearly perfect, with "perfect" describing a Krispy Kreme doughnut. Price is a little on the high side, but worth it. Keep in mind there's no place to sit inside, just enough room to place and receive your order at the counter.

Consideration #1: It is wise not to judge a bakery by its size... This bakery has world-class offerings, in my opinion. The bacon cro-nuts are the best in the Twin Cities, and then some. The bismarks... the sugar cookies... the Apple fritters... and especially the cake donuts... The hardest part is refraining from gaining 20 lbs in a month on these, and it's so tempting to just say, "It'd be worth it!"!

The pastries and prices are great. Their communication and service really miss the mark, though. It's almost impossible to contact anyone at a higher level than the person behind the counter, and even those people turn from delightful to snappy and defensive if you ask about it. They have no answering machine and no email, and sending a message via facebook only seems to trigger an automatic response about how they can only accept orders in person or over the phone (I was not trying to place an order). Their hours are subject to change at any moment without any further notice than a sign in the door. If it weren't for the suspiciously poor communication, I'd give them five stars.

Old fashioned bakery known for their raised glazed donuts and cronuts, especially the fantastic maple bacon cronuts. They have a variety of filled crispies including the seasonal rhubarb which is terrific. They have poppyseed Danish and almond Danish as well as a variety of long johns and filled donuts etc.

I’ve gone to a lot of bakeries in the Twin Cities. They have incredible bread, the employees are great, and the prices are cheaper than most other bakeries. Wuollet’s bought out Hans and some other bakeries and destroyed the quality. There isn’t too many bakeries left, but out of the ones still around this is by far my favorite.
