I will start off with, my family has been on a donut quest this past year. We have been all over the southern metro areas to the twin cities. Denny's has been my favorite so far. Their raised donuts are soft and chewy. They have plenty of variety and are reasonably priced. And their staff was so nice! Overall, this might be our staple donut shop moving forward.

Great local bakery! Visit any day for fresh donuts and bread. Get there early as they often run out before afternoon. There are a few places to sit inside and enjoy a cup of coffee with your donuts. Or place a cake order through their online form. Absolutely the best carrot cake and chocolate cake, but they have to be ordered in advance.

We went to Denny's 5th Avenue Bakery for the first time and loved it!!! We ordered some cupcakes, bismarks, and brownies. The Bismarks have filling throughout the entire pastry, not just a little bit in the middle like most bakeries offer. The cupcakes are moist and the frosting is delicious. I'm a brownie aficionado and these were some of the best brownies I've ever tasted! I like my brownies moist and these were super moist! I like them chocolaty and these were very chocolaty! I like the brownies frosting to be creamy and chocolaty, this frosting was very creamy and chocolaty, but the flavor was unique and unlike any frosting I've ever tasted! It's indescribable, so you'll just have to try it! Finally, the prices are low to moderate and overall all of the prices are a great deal. So, get in your car and drive over to Denny's 5th Avenue Bakery and tell them Mike sent you... : )

I called and worked with Heather (lead decorator) with only two weeks notice of a family member's wedding I needed a cake for to take 'cake cutting pics'. I sent a pic of a centerpiece to give her an idea of colors and design. The cake was ready to go and absolutely gorgeous on the day and at time promised. Although it was used only for pictures at the Friday evening wedding, it was served for brunch the next morning and everyone loved it! Last visit was fairly hostile. I walked in and immediately greeted by an aggressive " what do you want!". I don't know, maybe the remnant of selection of food that's not on display in the window. Possibly let me approach the display of food and see what i want first. I'm in a flannel shirt and pants that's it. For some reason everyone was staring at me like I came in with a sock over my head.

I've been waiting to do this review for a long time! I've been going to Denny's for five years now and not once have I ever had a bad experience. The coffee is always hot the donuts are always fresh and the people are always friendly. Not to mention their good loyalty card for every $50 you spend you get a five dollar gift card back. I will come here for the next five years!

Visually adorable miniature two layer tier cakes! Puppy chow was delicious, but not fresh. Mint brownie was underwhelming; again not fresh as well. They were sold out of Boston creme donuts. Infact, they had hardly any donut selection. I was told "the key is" to come in the early am for those. Customer service lacked. Old lady seemed very inconvenienced when we walked in and refused to serve us, despite fellow younger employee frantically asking for help.

Denny's Bakery provides the donuts for my childhood Lutheran church's coffee hour and they are absolutely the best! When my fiancee and I were considering where to get our wedding cake from, they came to mind instantly and did not disappoint! And the cheese crowns are simply perfection. buy two because you're going to want another one after you finish the first one, I promise! Shout out to the staff there. This bakery is a place me and my dad like to stop in every once in a while. Their donuts are personally one of my favorites. The bread here is good to! As the saying goes, you get for what you pay for. Yep! The donuts here represent that. Great quality, reasonably priced.

I have been to this bakery a few times. I bought Christmas cookies one time and they were grocery store quality not the quality I would expect from a business that all it does is bakery. The second time there I bought a couple of individual cakes and they were good but not great. The third time there I bought a couple of more individual cakes, a cherry pie and some dinner rolls. The cakes were good, the dinner rolls were dry and definitely day old and the pie crust had a very unusual flavor that I did not like at all. I have no idea what they add to their crust but UGH. I have to say I am always disappointed that they don’t have a better selection of cakes and pastries. Every other bakery I have every been too I can walk in and find a nice selection of good sized cakes but not here. All they have for spur of the moment are individual cakes. Weird. I will have to go to Lunds again to get my bakery items until a decent bakery opens up in Bloomington.

We come here for donuts and they are wonderful! Unfortunately, it feels like it’s about a 50/50 chance that we’ll get the ones we ask for. Even when I say,“May I please have one of the frosting/whipped cream filled long John’s,” and point directly to it in the case, I’ll still end up with an unfilled long John or a Bavarian cream filled donut pulled off the back cart about half of the time. They make great donuts, but some of the staff are either careless or don’t have a knowledge of their products. We asked for an apple fritter and received a glazed cinnamon roll. Those aren’t even close to the same thing! Please train your staff.

Very reasonable prices for doughnuts-and they do a baker's dozen, which I love. Really loved their cinnamon butter bread and cinnamon apple bread. Didn't use the cinnamon apple bread right away so it got a little stale and was delicious as French Toast!

This I a great bakery that is always busy. During the Holiday season it's especially busy. I called in a order with items that are very important to our Christmas breakfast. When I went for the pickup some were inadvertently not in the order. The owner got immediately involved. He acknowledged the problem, apologized and came up with a solution. The next day everything was made right under his supervision. This is a great bakery, but equally importantly, they do business the right way !

Several years ago, I fell in love with the cherry fritters, but the last time I purchased one, it was not nearly as crisp or good. Hopefully, it was just an off day. I enjoy the lefse and divinity made around Christmas. They have good products, though as a reviewer pointed out here recently, if they're not using protective masks during the time of the pandemic, then I probably will not return until there is news that they are. It's too serious of a time not to protect your customers, so I'll probably be using a safer bakery in the meantime. Edit: The last time I purchased a cherry fritter in late 2020, it was back to the original deliciousness - very crispy. They're making them good again.

This bakery is fabulous! They have absolutely the best donuts, rolls and other baked goods in the area. In my experience the staff is always friendly and attentive. We frequently buy donuts for our company meetings from Denny's - everyone loves them!

This commercial bakery has a small-town-bakery feel for walk-in customers. Their goods are delicious and the employees are always so friendly, so helpful, and warmly welcoming. It's like going to a small town bakery in a big city. The bakery items? All the standards but done so well. Breads, specialty breads, incredibly soft donuts, danishes, kringles, cookies, cupcakes, cakes, and custom cakes. They even have "Decorate It Yourself (DIY)" kits complete with toppings for fun gatherings, or just for your own decorating enjoyment. This is where I go to find family favorites like julebrød, julekake, almond/cardamom kringle, and even kolaches seasonally (huge assortment), and blintzes. By the way, get there early to score one or more of their carmel rolls or carmel pecan rolls - they sell out quick.

Pros: Prices are phenomenal Wide selection Friendly staff Cons: Some of the items were a little firm (Donut holes were not as soft as I would like, cookies aren't my personal style as they are more crumbly than soft, but the quality is not bad) Coffee levels were low, due to coming in an hour before close I would imagine. I had a vanilla frosted glazed fried donut and it was superb, as was the maple glazed Long John with a bacon slice on top. Also, my mint brownie was exceptional. My girlfriend had an apple strudel and an almond spritz that she says is 10/10 As previously stated, the donut holes weren't the best and the cookies weren't my style, but if you're in the market for fresh baked bread, they have a large amount that I didn't try although I plan to soon. Stop by and check it out!

Great local bakery that doesn't get enough hype. Only demoted 1 star since they never have lemon bars past 3pm & the chocolate cake in the mousse bomb was a bit dry. The nanaimo bars, coconut & rvc squares, & cake pops were all texturally appropriate, flavorful & fresh! Their cake is what other bakeries wish they had!

LOVE THIS BAKERY!!! Donuts are so good and the prices for what you get is great. Also they are local business so I love the fact that I'm supporting locals when I get my two dozen donuts every other week here. They make all of their items in house and also make a ton of baked goods for the local restaurants and hotels.

Bakery is great, but for some reason they seem to mess up orders more recently and I mean COUNTER orders. Now I have to look before I leave, kinda of sad. Ask for 6 sugar donut holes, nope I got 4 and 2 glazed, HOW. asked for 2 CHOCOLATE french, nope give me vanilla. Come on, ask 3x if needed, I know I said it twice, but if not sure, DONT GUESS.

Went in for the first time and wasn't impressed. Picked up a few cookies and some doughnuts. The glazed twist was ok the blueberry old fashion was very hard and not a whole lot of blueberry flavor. I had a bite ofod the gourmet chocolate chip cookie and was not a fan. The family hasn't tried the rest yet. I did go back in because they originally under charged me. The forgot to add on one of the donuts. The girl that rang me up said nothing but ok that will be $1.10 I mean a thank you would have been nice. I don't see myself returning.

I discovered I locked my keys in my car and they offered to help call for assistance and where extremely kind. I went to Denny's this morning because I NEEDED an old fashioned cake doughnut. They are hard to find. I was so happy when I saw they had them. I didn't purchase enough to meet the $5 "credit card" transaction minimum. I announced that it "sucked to be me" stated I did not have cash and turned to walk out - BEHOLD - to my surprise the beautiful, kind, generous and amazing purveyor of doughnuts said "WAIT"! I am not going to reveal the details, but let's just say I am now a loyal customer of Denny's and will make sure to bring cash or at least purchase $5 worth of doughnuts from now on. I don't know her name, it doesn't matter, but I can tell management (if she wasn't management) has taught their employees the value of repeat and continued business based on high customer service. Well done Denny's. I'll be back despite the fact that I never NEED a doughnut.
