Reviews of Rocket Baby Bakery
Talk about a great breakfast sandwich and a great regular sandwich! This is a great local bakery with fresh bread and pastries, coffee, and sandwiches. We have enjoyed the ham or bacon with egg breakfast sandwich as well as the turkey club a couple of times and both are well worth the trip. They also have really good orange juice. Definitely worth checking out and for much more than the few things that we have tried.
The breakfast sandwich was incredible. Heads up: takes about 45 minutes from when you call to order.
The ciabatta bread was perfectly crunchy yes soft inside. I got the lemon aioli, bacon, and avocado addition and I highly recommend that. The side salad was a little wilty, but I didn't care about that much.
My wife got the chocolate almond croissant and it was delicious.
Can't wait to get another breakfast sandwich and try the Sriracha mayo.
The staff is always really nice. The baked goods are superb! I purchased a Surprise Bag to spoil my family and Sam did a great job. It was full of blueberry delights! I just wish the inside would reopen. It was such a great place to meet for coffee and a treat.
They're always super friendly. I love the walk up window and so does my dog. Even one of the employees recognized my dog from a previous visit which was super cute.
The breakfast sandwich is amazing and coffee is always good. I usually go on Saturdays so I wish every day was Saturday ☺️
The absolute best bakery!!!!! The staff is just phenomenal and the pastries are sinful. Keep me away from that almond croissant!!!!!! It's beyond amazing!
Make sure you try the vegetarian's rule sandwich, Salsa Bagel with cilantro, lime and jalapeño cream cheese and the Tosa sourdough too!!! All so good!
I love their banquettes but I was surprised they no longer allow you to enter inside to pick up. Pretty inconvenient and annoying. You used to be able to wait inside for your order. Now since they've increased their business they don't want people I've. Come on. This is Wisconsin. At least allow a few inside . Won't be going back.
First time here but will not be the last. Fantastically fresh yummy bakery treats, breads, etc. Only open 8a-2p every day and you may order ahead online until noonish, but order as early as possible because popular selections sell out. Whether you go in or pickup at the window or curbside, they've got you covered. Huge outside seating area when the weather is ok. Beware: The croissants are freaking huge... Two servings from each... Fresh, flaky, buttery goodness! I suggest the plain, double chocolate or brown butter (latter has a brown butter custardy filling & brown butter icing. see pic😋). And you'll want to take home their unique breads. Sourdough multigrain is good & hearty, but could use a stronger San Francisco sourdough flavor. Best bakery by far north of 94, easy to get to on North Ave in Tosa.
Best bakery in Milwaukee for pastries and bread. Sandwiches are really good too. Just try to avoid the lines on weekend mornings by ordering ahead.
Without question, the best bakery in the city. From their bread (especially their baguettes), to their croissants, to the great selection of pastries, there's nothing Rocket Baby doesn't do well. Order a Kouign-amann and don't look back!
What a great bakery! Donuts, breads, macaroons...lots of other choices! COFFEE!!Fast and friendly service during morning hour. Tables inside to sit and enjoy your donut and coffee. Love the outdoor patio!! Planning to come back on a nice evening to enjoy the cool picnic tables and benches.
NOT your budget bakery depending on what you want to buy; but a great place for a special treat.
And... there’s a bicycle pump/fix station right in front. Never seen one of those before. How thoughtful 🙂
My oh my, please stop on by! Yummy, decadent pastries, Anodyne coffee, and their pizza is not to be missed! Giant squares of ooey, gooey, cheesey goodness on a crispy, chewy crust! Their pastries are luscious and definitely are not on the small side so bring a friend!
Taste: 5/5. When I visited I had the egg and cheese and blueberry cream cheese danishes which were both delicious. All of their baked goods looked wonderful and they had a better balance of sweet and savory options than other bakeries that I’ve been to.
Service: 5/5. While their inside dining was closed due to staffing issues, the seating next door and the surrounding area were both cute. Their staff were kind and even provided recommendations.
Vibe: 5/5. Although I’m sure being able to enter the bakery would have improved my experience, there’s nothing wrong with a walk-up local bake shop.
Cost: 4/5. The food that we purchased here was delicious, but could have been cheaper on a dollar-to-calorie basis. Not somewhere I’d eat at every weekend, but perfect for a once-in-a-while treat.
Nice people, nice looking, and most importantly: nice tasting. Just a Nice bake shop.
Cute place! Love the desserts; great variety and quality. The breads we've gotten a few times were black/burnt on bottom making it difficult to slice; we ended up cutting it off but flavors were great!
I was visiting and staying just down the road. I walked here and grabbed breakfast 2 days in a row and loved it! They have a great coffee and baked goods! They know what they're doing here. The staff was friendly and they were well organized!
Walk up window was quick! I had a death by chocolate brownie. Super chocolatey, but the top frosting separated from the brownie. It came straight out of the fridge so it was still cold
Absolutely fantastic bakery right around the corner. Really great bread, pastries and coffee. Staff are very friendly. I've gone many times now and never had anything short of a perfect experience.
It's just always so good. My favorites are the Tosa sourdough, honey wheat, and chocolate croissants. I'd be even happier if they'd bring back the double chocolate croissant! Always nice people and high quality baked deliciousness.
I can't imagine a better bread for a tuna melt than their pain de mie... And absolutely the best baguette in Wisconsin... Croissant as well... Actually, everything is really well made!
I really love this place but I wish they would reopen the indoor seating/dining...our group of friends and family would meet here often for breakfast or lunch because of the ambiance inside, and we all live in Waukesha...we made the trek in because we loved it so much to be able to sit there and enjoy but we go elsewhere now...are there any plans at all to reopen your dining area?
Tge macarons are amazing! I was a bit disappointed with the first bite of the pistachio one because the shell was a bit too crunchy but I was blown away by the flavor. The creme brulee macaron was perfect. Probably the best macarons I've had in Wisconsin.
Wanted cinnamon rolls so after calling around remembered the store. Sat outside and ordered 👌 Picked up but it was more than I bargained for and exceptionally tasty. If you don't have help eating order one. …
Stopped in for pastries, specifically chocolate croissants. I don't eat any of that stuff myself, though everything that I picked up was devoured by my family with great happiness.
This place has some of the best bakery and pastry items in the area. Incredible fresh, friendly staff, and big on flavor. Though it doesn't have a ton of space indoors, it has plenty of outdoor seating.
I found this bakery shortly after moving to the area and I love everything I have gotten there! I highly recommend the lattes, rotating flavors of danish, sourdough bread, and the grilled cheese sandwich. I take my young grandson there and it’s been perfect during the pandemic to be able to get our items and then play at the adjoining pocket park. The staff is top notch, too!
Loved their fresh breads and pastries. Had their breakfast sandwich with bacon and siracha mayo and fell in love all over again!
1. most critical to me is customer service and then the quality of the food; they are kind humans. However, their delivery service is horribly long. It takes 2 hours for a delivery of your food to go out within a 4 mile radius, I live less than a mile away. It's utterly ridiculous. So when trying to order from GrubHub instead, they don't release the whole menu to grub hub, so you can't order what you want for faster delivery.
UPDATE: upon asking about GrubHub or UberEats, apparently the company doesn't want to use those services because they have their own delivery driver, which is limited to a 4 mile radius and takes hours to get your food. Again, not helpful to your customer base. You could consider making your delivery driver strictly wholesale orders and use social delivery services for individual food orders to accommodate your customers. Just a thought.
2. The food: the baked items aren't flavorful IMO, so in this case, to each their own, but the signature blueberry muffin tasted like a bad shortbread cookie and all the blueberries are at the bottom of the muffin, not dispersed throughout and their cookie was mealy. Also, they both lacked sweetness.
3. Their breakfast sandwich is why I come back. Oh and the Cinnamon plum tea is wonderful, but don't sacrifice closing a lid properly to leave the tail end of the tea bag out; thankfully I was wearing a waterproof jacket when it spilled all over me!
4. Also, on busy days they frequently get the order wrong.
5. Overall, it's an okay spot, for some you can tell they love it...
You can't get their specialties anywhere else! They are delicious! We have had everything on the menu!
I absolutely love everything I’ve gotten from Rocket baby. They get really busy but still manage to pump out hundreds of sandwiches a day. They have the best vegetarian sandwich in mke!!!
I've had Rocket Baby's bread for years and it's always been great but recently I've tried their croissants, danish, morning bread, muffins, babka and tropezienne. Oh my god. I'm obsessed. I want to order pastry every week now. They are so freaking good. The tropezienne, I've never heard of but it has the lemon custardy filling in the center and I can't even tell you how good it was. I went somewhere else and I got a danish and it was disgusting. Rocket Baby has officially ruined pastries from anywhere else for me. They just aren't on the same level as Rocket Baby.
This was a 10/10 for us! Visiting from Chicago and a friend told us to go here. I was a little worried since there's no indoor seating options right now and we weren't able to take on the go, but the online ordering was fast and easy and there was plenty of space on a patio right next to the restaurant outside. Highly recommend the BLT (add cheese!) and the S'mores Croissant. The toasted vanilla fluff on the top was amazing, but what made it unforgettable was the graham cracker flavored dough. It hit the spot (mmm ice cold diet coke) and everyone was so nice. Note: we went on a Monday at about 11am...I can definitely see this place being a bit of a zoo on the weekends, so give them some grace if that's the case!
Delicious cappuccino and noteworthy service. The bakery looked delightful, but I was after a good cappuccino. I definitely recommend stopping in!
We will be back! I tried out Rocket Baby for the first time this week and I'm so impressed. I ordered a few pieces of pastry online right away at 7:15am for curbside pickup. I called when I was there, and although they were insanely busy, someone ran my order right out to my car. This piece is so important to a busy mama with a toddler in the back seat! The food... WOWWWWW! I could eat the passion fruit tart every single day. It was sweet, tart, decadent all at the same time. That chocolate almond croissant was a tie for my favorite. Creamy almond and chocolate filling with about 200 almonds coating the outside! We also ordered a chocolate chip cookie, which was chewy and just the way we like it and a pumpkin muffin with the most amazing cream cheese topping. Thank you for creating unique and tasty bakery!!!
I’d say the bakery is pretty good. They used to donate bread to our non profit so I have a lot of respect for them for doing so. I don’t know if they still do, hope so!
The chocolate chip cookie is pretty tasty and so are the chocolate croissants. Nothing there really blew my socks off, but certainly quality products.
I never make reviews, but Rocket Baby is an exception. I had the Bacon Cheddar Chive Croissant and it was the greatest thing I have ever eaten. It was unreal. HIGHLY reccomend!!!!
Wonderful bakery! Love their bread and pastry. The absolute best Kouign Amann I've ever had (and they even taught me how to say it correctly! )
Their turkey club sandwich on sourdough bread was so satisfying. Just enough avocado without being overwhelming
The outdoor seating is fantastic. It's placed in a great little area with a lot of friendly foot traffic. The baked goods are consistent and at a high level. I recommend the Rocket Pocket, that thing is one of a kind!
We stopped in at this charming little spot on our mini vacation through Wisconsin. We just wanted a snack, but ended up going back for more as EVERYTHING was delicious. The pizza was our favorite, but the croissant with bacon and cheese was absolutely perfect. It was surprisingly the best pizza we've had since we have lived in Michigan, and we got it out of state!!! (kinda sad, right?) The girls at the counter were helpful and super friendly. One of them came over, asked about the food and we ended up talking with her for 10+ minutes.
The sandwiches looked amazing, as did the soup and salad.
I would say this restaurant may not work for you if you're HEAVILY into eating large portions of meat or cannot do bread products. It did seem *slightly* expensive, but it was also the best place we ate on our trip, so maybe that makes it worth it :)
All in all, great place and totally worth it!
I can't lie, this pastry was worth the 5-Hour Drive! The girls are fabulous. They're very attentive and extremely polite. There's only one that I have tried that I'm not at all wild about and I could not tell you what it is but it's got a lot of stuff going on! If it helps it's Square biscuit like with sesame seeds on top.
Love Rocket Baby Bakery! The baked goods are amazing. I love show fresh everything usually is. I was a little sad to see that my macaroons were stale, this was the first was the first time I've experienced it. I went around 9am, they were probably left over from yesterday. I got bread, croissants I got, macaroons, and coffee. The staff was amazing and very helpful. I will definitely be coming back! I have to make special trips here before I head to Madison!
Stop here. Cafe is excellent, pizza excellent. Cookies were excellent. Very impressed!!!
One of the best bread I ever had. No just fresh but delicious. Staff very friendly and open. They have great coffee and breakfast menu. It was hard to choose, I will have to go back to try everything. The place is clean and fresh. I love the plants by the window. They take care of the plants, and they're customers.
I love their variety of sweet and savory pastries! I havent found anything I dislike. They have really good sandwiches and beverages.
Love the baguettes here!! Miss the Bayview location, but definitely worth the trip. Almond croissants are delicious as well. Really never had anything here I didn't like.
Never had a bad item from this bakery. Even things that I was "meh" about from the description but tried anyway were awesome. Delightful baked goods, not-so-delightful service. This is the fourth order I've made where something has been left out and/or the wrong item given. I'd speak to them about it, but they aren't picking up the phone at all this morning.
Had the breakfast sandwich, with turkey bacon, might've been the best sandwich I've every had. Seriously good. Cortada was pretty decent too. 10/10 major "Go"!
First time walking in. The lemon bar is really yummy. Great balance between lemon & sweet/tartness. The bite size brownies were dry. Nice selection of breads. Get there early because the pastries sell out fast
Lovely French bakery with delicious pastries and bread. It’s located next to a little pocket park which is perfect for eating your food at. I especially love their baguettes and chocolate croissants!
What a wonderful bakery. Delicious bacon cheddar croissant. Gorgeous outdoor seating right next to the bakery. Had a ham & cheese sandwich that was great, except the ham was too fatty for my taste. Overall, great spot. A must try in Tosa.
Always outstanding quality food. Turkey club sandwich with avocado and lemon aioli on sourdough bread was great. Very busy this Saturday morning, so service was a bit slow, and they were out of croissants by 10:30. Never gonna stop me from going back as often as I can.
1st time...nice bakery/coffee/light eats place. Relatively quiet so the four of us could talk without telling. Wonderful cherry Danish and poppy seed muffin. The bread selection looked great...we will be back!
I ordered a mocha and when I received it I didn’t trust it bc it was suspiciously light for 16 ounces no foam. So I open the top to a disappointing 10 ounces of coffee beverage. The baristas are nice and they frequently give you half full drinks which is the 4th time at least that this has happened which is just such a disappointment for a $6 coffee plus tip.
Best baguette in town. Lake Park Bistro gets baguette from Rocket Baby. I have not had anything off the sandwich board yet. Pastries are fantastic, great savory scones and the pizza they have at lunch is so flavorful and has a crunchy crust! The breads are fantastic. My favorite is the cranberry walnut bread that makes a great turkey sandwich!
This place is so good. If you’re not sure where to get a good pastry, sandwich, croissant, then look no further than here. Employees were also very friendly and helpful!
If I could give this bakery 10 stars I would. I could have wallowed in their delicious pasties all day. Great ingredients and skilled bakers make this place a destination restaurant. I was happy to wait in line for a super quality product. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
The food here is phenomenal. The attitude of the workers however when we came here on a Sunday after noon was nothing more then them pushing us out the door. We ordered our food at 1:30 and were then told everything was going to be made to go because they were closing. And it conveniently took 30 minutes to get our food. Another bonus was that they were blasting theater music so loud we could hardly hear each other.
The staff here are phenomenal. I really enjoy coming in to see smiling, helpful faces. I really enjoy the danish and all the baked goods to be honest! Today, I thought I'd try a sandwich. All of them sounded delish, but I tried the Harris. It was outstanding. It came with a yummy salad to boot. Rocket Baby is by far one of my favorite bakeries in town.
9/27/19 UPDATE:
One of the owners has been in contact with me and has more than made up for this error. She also reassured me they will have additional training with the staff to prevent this from happening again.
I will happily be returning to Rocket Baby, and continue to support this great local business that truly cares about their guest experience.
It is, after all, impossible to resist those chocolate croissants.
Thank you Rocket Baby!

I had ordered a desert for my boyfriend's birthday, a week in advance. It is one they make every year for Valentine's day, a heart shaped raspberry macaroon - his favorite.
I went to pick it up and, after about 15 min of scrambling around to find it, and a phone call to the pastry chef, they told me the pastry chef didn't make it, they didn't have it. She thought it was for the next day, even though the order form had the correct day written on it. I had already been charged $20 (it usually costs $15 for V-day, if your order in advance).
She apologized and offered me 20 raspberry macaroons instead. The first box she gave me had several smashed macaroons. After another 10 min of waiting, she gave me another box of macaroons and a refund of $10.
To say I was disappointed is an understatement, I was almost in tears.
I had been looking forward to giving this gift to my boyfriend for his 35th birthday as a surprise, since I know how much he loved them.
I have always held Rocket Baby in a high regard, with high-end, quality offerings. I understand mistakes happen, but with a week's advance notice, this is just incredibly unprofessional. The staff was very young and inexperienced. After 25 minutes I left with 20 macaroons, that I had to pay $10 for, and no heart.
We can’t say enough how impressed and grateful we are of Sarah at Rocket Baby Bakery. She was beyond dedicated and went beyond and above expectations to ensure that we received the desserts and treats we dreamed of. Her customer service amid the pandemic was bar none the best. Her willingness to be open to an ever-changing vision and ensuring our desserts met COVID restrictions was greatly appreciated. She makes it her personal mission to make sure that your desserts taste amazing and presentation is beyond expectations.
Rocket Baby is an awesome place. It has great food, bakery, and coffee, and the people that work there are always kind and provide fast service. The building has a cool color scheme and the outside sitting area is new and very neat. There is a very small free parking area behind the outside sitting area, but you should have no problem finding free street parking nearby. I highly recommend Rocket Baby for a beautiful morning breakfast and coffee, by yourself or with a friend or family member!
The employees are always patient, professional, and polite. I love coming here for a quick treat or some bread! The macaroons are a bit overpriced as are most of the treats, but it's worth it. My personal favorite has to be their "Monkey Bread."
The best monkey bread on earth!! My friend goes here every week for bread and brought me along and man it was excellent! Its run by a french couple and their family. Lovley place, warm and inviting..
This bakery is just the best. In addition to a variety of amazing sweet and savory treats, they have a really great sandwiches menu. Parking can be scarce in the area, but they are definitely worth a short walk.
We love supporting this local bakery and cafe! Their food is delicious...and I quote my husband when he said 'this is the best breakfast sandwich i have ever eaten,' haha. They have a variety of options and are located in the popular North Ave area of Tosa. We will definitely continue to be back!
Rocket Baby Bakery has a nice selection of baked goods. I always get something different every time I go. The line moves fast and they have always been super friendly. Lots of outdoor seating and some indoor seating.
Everything here is absolutely delicious. I'll pop in to grab a baguette when I have dinner guests and usually leave with an assortment of croissants and sweet treats.
I spent $3.00 on a baguette last week, and it isn't quite as large as the ones you can get at nearby supermarkets for a dollar less, but much better quality. Plus, it's not much of an up charge when you consider you are supporting a local business.
I find that Rocket Baby to be relatively on par with many of my favorite bakeries in France and North Africa; although, it is quite pricey, but I have resigned all hopes of getting a baguette for a buck or less in the USA that would be worth serving to guests.
The bakery here is phenomenal! Try the morning bun with your latte, you won’t be disappointed.
I ordered the bacon, cheese and chive crescent. No disappointment, a nice and tasty pastry ( sorry, no pick ). No indoor seating and outdoor ordering at this time. If in town, visit this bakery.
Their bread is second to none and the curbside service is really swell. Great location and plenty of space to enjoy a coffee and croissant in the sun!
Awesome macrons. Good cheese pizza. Lemon and pistachio were the best macron flavors. Didn't get to try the chocolate croissant they were sold out. Definitely want to go back.
We love everything about Rocket Baby and really appreciate their efforts to re-open creatively and safely! Thanks! Their online ordering works smoothly for same-day items like bread (we love their multigrain loaf!) and their walkup window feels very safe to this at-risk oldster who is being very cautious. So I can put in a pre-paid bread order, walk over, and at the window, add a coffee and treat. Staff are masked and they've added hand sanitizer to their doorway counter/table. Just have to navigate around a few unmasked corner park denizens, but seating out there is distanced and it's all in the open air. And...everything they bake is delicious!
Good food and bakery! Food can take a little bit of time but is worth it.
TL;DR: Coffee good, good looking/sounding food, vegetarian options - meh, vegan - 0.
So a little disclaimer: this review is almost exclusively about the coffee. I believe I had a slice of pizza here once upon a time, but the recollection is quite fuzzy so I can't really comment on it. I did of course see many of the sweets you would expect from a bakery and they were all quite tempting. A little slim on the gluten free items, but it's a bakery, after all, so not much of a surprise there. Also not a lot of dedicated vegetarian menu items and no vegan options that I am aware of. They do offer a decent amount of lunch fare, though, with much (all?) of it sourced from local businesses such as Yuppy Hill, Usinger's, Growing Power - and Anodyne Coffee, which brings me to what I know a bit more about regarding Rocket Baby Bakery: the coffee. A familiar name in these parts, Anodyne Coffee can be found in abundance throughout the Milwaukee area. They have some pretty solid roasts, so the only question really is whether or not it's brewed correctly. In this matter I'm going to give Rocket Baby a thumbs up. They have consistently brewed a good cup for me, the last of which was a medium roast with sweet overtones that bordered -almost- on a flavored coffee, but never condescended to that level of vile gimmickry, making it quite enjoyable. I might have to keep putting it to the test just to make sure, though.
The staff is great! 😃 Extremely welcoming and friendly. 🙋♀️👍Charming, quaint atmosphere.
The cappuccino & BlackBerry macarons are delicious! 🍮☕🍵😄
Was my first time there and most definitely will definitely not be my last!
HIGHLY recommended! ☆☆☆☆☆
I love this place. I have never had anything I didn't love. The service is always friendly as well. The chocolate croissant is beyond sinful and if you warm it for just a few seconds you will be in heaven. Go try it... you will thank me after your food coma.
Who doesn't love baked good! (low carb people, but they wouldn't be looking here unless they are hoping for a low carb option. There isn't one and don't spoil it for the rest of us.)
I love everything here. Including the bran muffins.
There used to be a coffee snob who made coffee there. But it looks like they are not working the front anymore so enjoy the coffee too.
The food is wonderful. Not very friendly. Owner was seated next to us and glanced as we walked in the door. No hello (we were only customers besides the 2 people she was visiting with). The lady that helped us was short with us. It was very cut and dry ordering. I have to say the pizza was fantastic. Cashier stared at us periodically...Just put a smile on your face. Say hello or at least goodbye. Girl writing on the window as we left glanced up as we left and continued writing.
I wish there were more bakeries like this one.
Lots of delicious options on baked goods. Coffee is decent.
The chocolate croissants are my personal favorite.
Nice and clean inside.
I heard they had the best chocolate chip cookies in the state. I live 45 mins from Tosa, but happened to be in town on a Monday with my kids. I decided to make a stop to check it out. Unfortunately, when we arrived, they were all out of their famous chocolate chip cookies. Needless to say, we were all disappointed.
Great place. Very friendly and welcoming and not packed. I accidentally ordered the wrong thing, and Dez fixed it with no charge even though it was my fault. The music they played was also great. Breakfast sandwich and cortado were perfect. Will be taking some pastries home as well. Everything looks amazing.
Place was clean an the young lady that helped us was very nice. Didn't care for the croissants I had, they weren't flaky. If i lived in the area I would come back to try other items.
Inside seating closed for staffing issue. But you can still order from the window and take it to go. Good service, good food.
All the food was great! Awesome service even though it was pretty busy! And I think the best macaroons in Milwaukee! I would have posted a picture of those but I ate them too quickly!
There breakfast sandwich is a thing that i can't get out of my mind. Super tasty. Fresh bakery and solid coffee.
I haven't been to this bakery. But John K. at work just brought some treats in. I am eating the best Almond Croissant imaginable. Strike that - I never even imagined a croissant this delicious. Can't wait to try other items from this bakery!
Tasty but the prices doubled in a year...also my scrambled eggs were heavily peppered!!!! Let me decide if I want pepper!!! They offered to remake them (20 more minutes) but my friend had her food and we were waiting for a tow truck...got a shrug instead of an offer for ANYTHING. Even when they saw me throw away the entire plate. I then paid $4 for something sugary because I had to eat then they put the wrong thing in the bag and I had to drive all the back after dropping my friend at her car...the girl blamed me for "pointing at the wrong thing"
???? REALLY???? total cost $20.!!!
Small place, with a BIG atmosphere.
Each time I have the pleasure to visit. I'm impressed with the quality of everything.
I'm not wowed by the enormous selection. But, everything I've ever tried. Has been over the top. And, made with such pride and mastery. That I'm impressed, pondering, how long, did it take to make. And the enormous attention to details...I feel like I'm eating a piece of art. Then I realised that Love is the magic that holds together the heavenly goodness that I am eating...
If You havent been. Treat yourself. If they don't have your favorite, not to worry, because what ever you try will be better than what you wanted....
Please thumbs up if You like this review...
Delicious bread and good coffee! Came here with a baby on a baby date. They have a changing table in the bathroom which is a huge plus. Great atmosphere and great place!
The staff is very nice and friendly, but I was a little disappointed with the macaroons we ordered for a party. Before ordering I tasted them and they were great, but all of the vanilla ones we got were stale. I also asked for an assortment and only got 3 kinds.
Best baguette I've had outside of Paris. I have never had anything but the bread, tho. Tosa Sourdough is a must try and I get all my bread there now. Very affordable and consistently good.
I enjoyed my pizza and lemon macaroon. I prefer to eat gluten free but they only 2 desserts that were gf so I skipped it but was bummed. Cute interior and staff was friendly.
A great little bakery and coffee shop with a hand full of tables inside and a huge outdoor space. Great service and decent coffee but what sets this place a part is the top-notch bakery items: from scones to muffins to so much more.
My favorite bakery/cafe in the Milwaukee area. The food is always spot on, the coffee dependably delicious, and the staff is generally great. My only complaint is sometimes not being able to get a seat!
The products are wonderful. However, the friendliness of the staff is hit or miss; some are very welcoming, some make it clear that they are doing you a favor to take your order. The phone is where it consistently falls apart; several times I have called to place an advance order, only to be told - "oh we don't normally make those, that was a special order overrun that day. Sorry; you can't have it", or "sorry; you missed the deadline for ordering. We'll have a good supply that day though; stop in and take your chances". (sorry, I'm not taking chances; I will have to buy elsewhere and know for sure I will have what I need). They are closed on Monday (everyone needs a day off, I get it) and then Tuesday at noon is the cutoff for placing an order for Thursday (not really advertised anywhere - and what if you were working and couldn't call them before noon?). I realize there has to be a cutoff but advertise it clearly, so its not a disappointing surprise. What's most disappointing is that that news is delivered with a very unsympathetic 'sorry about your luck' tone. Today was the 3rd strikeout.
$8 for a loaf of plain simple bread; you got to be kidding me now?! Those children working behind the counter don't make that much an hour after taxes, most likely. Where is greed for profit going from day to day it really surprises me all the time. Don't get me wrong, I paid for the bread, it was good quality but again, not worth $8 I can tell you that much.
11/20/19 Update:
I appreciate the reply and to be honest I saw one coming. To add some more details in regards to the $8 loaf of bread so things are a little more clear:
I was looking to purchase a regular white bread that I can toast easy since some breads are shaped "irregularly" and don't fit the toaster really. I saw "Pain de Mie" on the shelf and asked the employee what kind is that exactly since I had issues with the names of the breads in the past where I purchased a wheat bread and it turned out that it was a sourdough even it wasn't in the description so I had to ask for clarification on this "Pain de Mie" version. I was told that it's just a plain white bread and that is what I wanted so I got it. When the time came to pay for it I saw the $8 charge but felt silly to argue or even mention it to the teenager at the register because I didn't want to get one of those teenager looks and felt it's pointless. So, I got the bread and like I mentioned in the original post it was good quality but not worth the price. I also have to mention that I do know what Brioche is and this is definitely not a Brioche.
Where am I? Is this Europe? Paris, perhaps?? That's what walking into Rocket Baby feels like -- a Parisian boulangerie. The breads and pastry selections are always the best and, I don't know about you, but I could live on fresh, crusty bread with unsweetened butter and a glass of wine or beer. Wonderbread will never cut it; the loaves that Rocket Baby makes will. So delicious. They've also got good coffee. Want a mini-vacation? Go to Rocket Baby, get a scone and a coffee and sit back and relax. Ah, Paris...
Bread= always great
Breakfast sandwiches = superb
Weekly specialty = always worth getting
Croissant pastry = well laminated and yummy
I had the breakfast muffin. Interesting. A whole egg in the middle😊 …
Rocket Baby is my go to bakery! Their macarons are one of my favs, they have a wide range of flavors. Everything else is amazing as well. You can’t go wrong with stopping in for a beverage and snack, it will make your day!
Best French style bakery in town. Authentic baguettes ans other breads. Super macarons (crème brûlée wow) and croissants! Very good lunch dishes too.
Ordered a polish rye bread for my grandma and various other things for myself, they have a great system for curbside or walk-up pick-ups and EVERYthing is delicious.
Love their brekky sandwiches (fluffy egg—add the meat) w/salads. Possibly overpriced, but still worth it. Outside seating super cute. And u guys... monkey bread. Omg.
A must do! Best bakery in the Milwaukee metro area. Delicious pastries and macarons, great coffee!!!
I was on the hunt for maccaroons and I found them! I bought two of each flavor and they were delicious! If I had more time I would have sat in their nice outdoor seating area.
Try the focaccia. Seriously. I almost cried it was that good.
The other food is equally as emotion inducing. You can tell they put a heaping scoop of love in every bite because each one goes down like the hug your father never gave you.
For the stoic and unemotional: just go for the flavor. You'll thank me later.
We where there about 930AM fairly quick service, friendly staff, and everything was CLEAN!
Delicious sandwiches for breakfast and lunch, wonderful bakery items, friendly service. An East Tosa gem!
Favorite place to grab a baguette or loaf of bread. It's amazing! They offer sandwiches as well that are phenomenal in addition to their other bakery items.
The breakfast sandwich was wonderful. The croissants and breads are authentic, and I think i had the best latte I've ever had. This is a wonderful place.
Order literally anything on the menu! Delicious and very well-made. Great coffee and specialty drinks! Also the muffins, pastries, even breakfast food or pizza! Just all around a great place.
Great stuff.
Only issue we had was we ordered a mini baguette and as far as I know we paid for it, but it wasn't in the bag when we got home-to Chicago!
We should have checked before we left the store
Fantastic croissants, and Monkey bread! Great bakery, always a variety of pastry, and some fantastic breads!! You have to try this place just for the pastry.
Amazing pastry and breads! Very nice for early morning coffee and a pastry or last minute bread pick up. The Today's sourdough bread is my top choice!
Great baked goods, breads are priced reasonably enough to be a staple when we lived in Milwaukee.
Coffee and staff are great, just wish it were bigger!
Lovely location and charming decor. The staff is extremely helpful, polite, and cheerful! The pastries were absolutely AMAZING to say the least! I will definitely be going back soon!!!
The bakery food was really good, and the pizza and sandwiches looked very good as well. Price was right. Only issue I have is their website is not mobile friendly, and that is where you can find the menu.
Best breakfast sandwiches and French bakery in the Milwaukee area. Went on a work trip to France and came back craving some baguette and this was the only place that for filled that craving!
Even though it seemed like it took forever to make the breakfast sandwich I ordered, and yes, it is somewhat expensive, I'm still giving this place 5 stars. All of the baked goods and the sandwich were top notch.
I've lives in Tosa for a couple of years and keep coming back for their Danishes, breakfast sammys, and croissants. Absolutely amazing! Better than ANY bakery or cafe in the area!
No in-restaurant dining but takeaway is handled very well. Outside seating available. As high quality as always.
I really like this place and I am told so do a lot of others. When we came they were not real busy but that is not the norm. Soup and sandwiches wete well prepared. Service was very efficient and friendly.
One of our favorite parts of living in tosa was walking to rocket baby on the weekends for coffee, breakfast, pastries. Busy place, but friendly staff. Love the space outside as well.
They have really good bakery items here. Also, their breakfast sandwich is the best I've ever had.
I get up on a sunday morning at 6:30 to get crossaints or danish at this wonderful bakery! I'd go here every day if I could. I dont know how they make a crossaint so delicious but i hope they never stop!
Very friendly! The food is Excellent! you can take like every ingredient! Everyone that works there are experts on their products! Genevieve, Andrew, Erika, and Amy are a fantastic team!
Cutest bakery, great staff and amazing food!
All around great place! Breakfast sandwich, danishes, and coffee are my go to, but everything is really good! Staff are always friendly and professional as well
My sweet tooth loves Rocket Baby! My favorite item is their monkey bread. Nice sized portions at a fairly reasonable price.
If you haven't been, it is worth the trip. Extremely friendly staff and amazing bakery items. You will not be disappointed!
Great latte using Anodyne coffee. Tried the bacon cheese croissant which was very light and tasty. Will go back!
OMG the granddaughter of a army cook turned bakery owner this place brought back so many memories and the morning bun was perfection! Such a quaint place to chill with a dear old friend.
First time stopping - staff was great, good customer service, very clean. I asked for a reccomendation and went with an almond crosant - it was life changing! I will be going back to try some other items in the future.
The staff is friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is fun and lively and the food is delicious. Try the Bacon Cheddar croissants, monkey bread and breakfast sandwiches!
Yummy croissants! Great pastries, breads, and coffee. Will definitely return to sample my way through the menu.
We had a few macaroons and a chocolate crossisant.. delicious and if in the area will stop again. Macaroons better than trader Joe
The best almond croissant I've ever had. Also great sourdough bread. A must stop.
Had the blueberry and the apircot danishes. They were so good didnt have time to take a picture before they were gone. Great staff
Best sourdough loafs in Milwaukee, wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Great little neighborhood bakery with good sandwiches and service. Wasn't spectacular enough to drive out of the way, but a good stop for locals, and it's quaint enough to hang out and kill time flapping one's jaw.
Some of the best bakery in Tosa. Love cappuccino in the mugs. Be sure to pick up a loaf of bread if you stop for a morning treat!
Wonderful food and coffee. The bacon cheddar croissants are to die for! The staff is also great!
So good. Everything here is just so good. I especially love their Tosa Sourdough, but have enjoyed their baked goods, sandwiches and coffee.
This is not a gluten-free restaurant and does not offer gluten-free products. Not sure why it shows up in the search results as having gluten-free options. It does however, great food and nice atmosphere. Moderately high prices.
I go every two weeks. Great bread, great service! Love this place!
The carrot cake is 4.00 a slice and definitely Not worth the price. Its frozen and taste is Not consistent. Try another item is my suggestion.
My husband is from Germany. We have been searching for authentic Polish Rye bread just like he was used to in Berlin. We found it at Rocket Baby Bakery!
Would like to see more of the selection.
Wonderful pastry from around the world.
Monkey bread is addictive, scones are divine, everything is so delicious.
I love the food, but the service was a little slow, but that could be because of the nice weather and there alot of people. Nice customer service
Their food is delicious. They forgot a sandwich in my order, but I was able to pick it up later.
Such a wonderful bakery in a great location. Their croissants are the best. Bakery is always fresh. Staff is very friendly!
Such good pastries and breads. It's a small shop so don't plan on camping out there with a large group during peak hours.
The blueberry danish is the best!
To die for! The monkey bread is the best I've ever had. Perfect for going on a Sunday and getting a couple different breakfast treats :p
Super cute bakery. The have a TON of baked good to choose from. They also offer breakfast and lunch choices.
Chocolate almond croissants are some of the best I've ever had!
Awesome almond croissant
Superb Sour Dough Bread. I tried the sausage pizza very tasty but a thinner crust would have taken it over the top.
This was the only coffee shop open near downtown Wauwatosa this Sat. @2pm! Still the Anodyne coffee & homemade pop tarts were delicious.
Rocket Baby had something for every taste-all fresh, no mass-produced, we need more places with that healthy commitment-from treats to salads to great beverage choices and things to take home.
Best macarons I've ever had. I also love their brownies more than life itself
So amazing. Staff were great. Food was over the top delicious. Really good atmosphere. We wanted to stay there all day.
Good Anodine coffee. Great pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Wonderful service and atmosphere. Outside/inside seating.
I'm a essential for us special delivery, (delivering Ecolab) very polite and helpful and offered me a blueberry lemon Danish that was awesome
Food was decent. Prices were a bit high. The people were the worst part of the experience. Staff was not friendly, they made us feel like a bother.
This is our absolute favorite bakery. We love everything they make and go there as often as we can.

Closing at 5 for the winter is a little too early, but the bakery is quite tasty, if a bit expensive for the sweets.
Food was good, but little pricey.
Don't like the look of these chairs but I must say they are a great place to hang out with some delicious Rocket Baby!
