We brought our children to Heitzman's today for donuts and ended getting a wide assortment of donuts, cinnamon rolls, sweet bread, danishes, and pretzels. Everything was delicious. The staff were super patient with our large family as we deliberated and asked questions and the price was really reasonable for what we got. I can't yet speak to the quality of sandwiches, but they looked fantastic and my wife and I are already planning a chance to go back for lunch sometime. They have a nice open dining area as well if you wished to eat there. Overall, highly recommend!

Excellent Job! Ordered this cake over the phone and was completely satisfied when we saw the finished product. I only requested a plain white cake with a blue "R" on top and they suggested the borders and roses. I'm glad they did. Will be ordering from them again.

We can’t thank you enough for working with us on our brunch menu for our wedding! So many compliments not only on the breakfast food, but the hot-brown was a major hit! The sliders were a great touch just for the groom to make a breakfast burger bite! The service for the midday brunch timing was impeccable! I can’t recommend you enough.

Do not get this one twisted with the Heitzman on Bardstown road, because they are seperate business’s i believe and quality wise SO MUCH BETTER! We have made it a weekend routine to dine in the cutest, comfy dining area. Personal my favorite fresh doughnuts with a hot egg/cheese on a bagel. *Look no further in town for the most delicious cinnamon rolls too!

Quite an experience. Walking in you smell the aroma of baked goods, salivate at the many options for your palate, view their lunch tables, and choose. Their desserts are mouth watering. Special orders do not phase them. This example on their counter reflects their creativity.

We had our daughters engagement party recently at Heitzmans. They have a party room that you can rent after hours. You are the only ones there so it is totally private. The room is great, the food was fantastic! We had a total dinner with drinks and dessert. Our server Megan did a great job also. Everyone attending our party complimented everything and were glad to learn about the venue. I definitely will use them again, its nice to be treated special.

Called a week in advance to ask if they could make a Cannoli Cake. “Yes we can!” I placed my order and this is what I received vs what I expected. I did request the writing and the cannolis on top but other than that it was a plain layer cake. Not one to be too particular I thought , “Well, maybe it tastes better than it looks?” Well that’s a big NO! We cut into the cake and saw a simple layer cake. The “cannoli” filling was barely there and couldn’t be tasted over the thick white icing . The cake itself was dry and crumbled . Being this was our first experience with this bakery, I did give it a generous three stars. I will try it again due to its reputation and may/may not be able to change the rating.

Great pastries, were out of several, sandwiches and meals overpriced. Cakes DELICIOUS! You can buy a huge slice of various cakes for about $4 + if you're not interested in buying an entire cake. I bought the white cake white icing and ate on it for days... Really terrific!!! I've been coming here for decades, and our business did business with theirs, very reliable management & employees are nice!!! Thumbprint butter cookies can't be beat and are hard to find elsewhere.

The crew at the Heitzman bakery has once again proved why they are the preeminent purveyor of pastry in Louisville. With expert help from Marguerite, my mother was able to send King cakes to all of the far flung members of our family. The cakes were as good as the best of New Orleans. Each was delivered in a timely manner and every recipient was very happy with the tasty pastry. Heitzman is always our first choice when we need the best.

We used Heitzman Bakery for our wedding cake in July of 2021. We, unfortunately, had to reschedule our date three times due to COVID. Heitzman worked with us with every reschedule. This is by far the best bakery I've ever been to. A great friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The girl behind the counter with the nice makeup said she had only been working there for a week but she was beyong amazing and sweet. She served the huge bible study group I brought in last week and everyone was so pleased. The donuts were great and the coffee was fresh and hot. They offered samples which ended up having me buy a butter kuchen from them. We ended up staying for lunch. I got the special which was a chicken salad sandwhich and soup. I got the chicken and dumpling soup and it was so tasty just like the sandwich. Everything came out quick and hot. Very pleased can't wait to host another study here.

These donuts are on point! Fresh fresh freshly baked. It's so soft and melts in your mouth. I had to cut a piece of each one to try it. If you have a sweet tooth, go for it.

I love Heitzman’s wonderful creations. When my daughter married they of course did a magnificent cake topped with real flowers! I truly love their kuchens - fruit, and most of all cinnamon kuchen! Their danish are all wonderful and my favorite is the caramel pecan. I love their breads and cookies. Their deli foods are wonderful as well as their catering foods. I very much hope that there are bakeries in heaven. If so Heitzman has its spot all ready for it!

I took a chance and ordered our wedding cake through this bakery without sampling it, etc I called 3 days in advance, and went to pick it up the day of the wedding. It was larger than I expected and the roses were perfect! (I added my own caketopper since I already had one to use). All night, I got so many compliments on it! The cake was with white and the texture was soft amd moist. Completely satisfied with my order!

Heitzman Bakery came through again with a gorgeous pink polka dot 2 tier cake with the baby girl monogram for my daughter's baby shower today! It was just delicious (vanilla and strawberry layers are the best!). Everyone loved it and wanted to know who made the marvelous cake!! They also did beautiful cookie favors(again with the baby's monogram). They were just precious! I always purchase cakes there whether it is birthday, wedding cake or Easter bunny cake! Love the butter kuchen and the springerle cookies. I always get birthday cakes here and have never had them mess up a name or make a silly mistake as I have with other bakeries and they taste good. Fully intend to get my daughter's wedding cake done at this bakery.

Both times I spoke with very nice workers. The price was good and the delivery came on time. The person I purchased the cake for, loved the cake and said it was very good.

Used Heitzman for our wedding cake, it was beautifully decorate, delivered on time with no issues, and exactly as discussed when we met with the cake designer originally. Excited to receive our anniversary cake in a year as the almond and strawberry cake went quickly! Would definitely recommend for others looking into wedding cakes.

They did a fantastic job of creating a replica of my parents’s wedding cake for a 50th anniversary celebration. The cake was not only beautiful, but it was also delicious. Service was spectacular! Delicious food at a wedding I worked! Most of it was gluten-free, too! Heitzman's did the catering & the cakes (yes I sampled a slice also!) Yummy! Food was ready when wedding party ready, they also did a cocktail hour inside, then moved the bar out to the tent seamlessly for the reception. Very smooth service!

After reading some of the reviews I was hesitant of ordering but I was in a time crunch and this was the only bakery that could design a speciality cake I wanted. I am so glad I did. We ordered a 4 layer rainbow cake and all of our guest loved it. By the end of the party we only had half of the last layer left. Also we received outstanding customer service from Megan.
