Reviews of Blue Dog Bakery & Cafe
The Cobb Salad was amazing!! Wasn’t expecting it to be so huge. Very filling with bacon, avocado, egg, grilled chicken and tomatoes. This was my first time here and I will absolutely be back when I’m in this area. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
I love this place! The pastries always have a great texture and flavor. They also serve the best coffee. The staff was very friendly and the space is in a great location. Definitely a gem for Louisville!
Not a Keto friendly astablishment but will cheat any day for the craving fix of delicious bake goods. The salads are excellent and the desserts the same. Great meeting place to hang and OH!!.. The coffee😵😍, strong an full of wake you up go gettness. The coffee is NOT watered down like most places, NO matter how you like it.
Took my mom for a lovely breakfast. They've added a wonderful avocado toast to the menu and they always have wonderful drinks and pastry options. Definitely a must when you come to Louisville or visit Frankfort Avenue.
Love this bakery. You can tell they take pride in their dough! Every item was perfection! From savory to sweet, croissants to quiche, and coffee, we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast here.
There’s a few tables and two benches out front and no dining in currently, also lots of people coming in and out so grab your food and seats ASAP or watch others enjoy good food ;-)
Great, interesting bakery and coffee place in Louisville. Pastries are lovely and very tasty. Prices are a little high for eating there too often, but the quality is very high. There was a bit of a line to get in. Seating is mostly outdoors, a few seats were open indoors.
My favorite bakery in Louisville. We always take out of town visitors for breakfast/brunch.
I’ve never had anything I didn’t like, but I highly recommend the pain au chocolat (my kid’s favorite), the kouign amann (my favorite), and the breakfast sandwiches.
Get there early or some of the more popular baked goods could be sold out. This place is soooo good!
Super delicious pastries! There are so many beautiful pastries and baked goods to select. The place was very crowded, we were there at 9:30 and the line was already long.
I love coming to Blue Dog Bakery for a slow early morning either during the week or on the weekends. There is usually always a line (that’s how you know this is the spot to be!). I highly recommend their house drip coffee, a special of the day pastry, and a seat on the front patio!
The food was good, flatbread was tasty! The tartine had a soggy texture and was maybe a bit too salty. The pastries were SO GOOD. But I was disappointed when they told us they only have kouign amann pastries on Friday and Saturday. I like to try those wherever I go.
First time in Louisville! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here at Blue Dog. The environment is casual and comfortable, I felt like a local. Poached eggs and breakfast burrito were delicious. My favorite was the smoked salmon pizza; usually smoked salmon is too salty for my taste but the quality was so high, there was minimal salt so you can taste the quality of the salmon. We got a breakfast pizza to go for later :)
I live in NYC and try to visit whenever I’m in town. The space is warm and the staff are always inviting. The baguette is well crafted, having a crisp eggshell crust, interior having a variety of smaller and larger air pockets. The menu offers variety and is well made. Items are fresh and consistent. The addition of the “toast” with jam, a classic French staple is perhaps the simplest entry but the most satisfying for anyone who loves Paris. Overall a great option, that never fails.
Best bakery in Louisville. Great bread and desserts. Don't arrive too late or most bread and sandwich options will be sold out. I arrived Friday at 140 pm (lunch finishes at 2) and the options were very limited. Still really enjoyed the items I was able to find.
Great coffee, incredible bread and croissants, and check out the lime curd... so good! Charming location on tree-lined street.
We stopped here for brunch and food was amazing! This is the loved by the locals as we saw several frequent visitors who knew owners and servers! Baked good were really nice, i loved the macaroons, so fresh! I tried the poached egg pizza for the first time and it was surprisingly good! I will visit again!
I really enjoy this quaint little bakery. Everything was delicious, the staff was super friendly, smelled exceptional, nice bathrooms, excellent teas and coffees, decent prices, and wheelchair accessible.
The place was packed but they were moving fast. Staff were friendly and responsive.
Food to my surprise were less than average given the all the other reviews. All options looked delicious but the taste was just average
I have not had a Pain au chocolat (ou chocolatine si tu veux) this delicious in the United States. I have never been disappointed by a pastry or a bread at Blue Dog.
Additionally, I appreciate the use of Illy espresso. All in all, a wonderful stop for brunch.
We stopped in early this morning, 7:45, the bakery was open but table service does not start until 9:00. we had a choice of fresh baked goods. We chose fried egg and chorizo croissant and egg spinach croissant. That with a cup of coffee was just right. Sat outside at a sidewalk table. Very pleasant!
I adore this place. I've never eaten here without completely finishing my plate and contemplating ordering more. The service is always lovely and always outstanding. I'd recommend this cafe to anyone who ever asks. I can't speak highly enough.
The most awesome bread place in Louisville. Great pastries. Great atmosphere.
Excellent breakfast options, delicious sandwiches, fresh bread , coffee and a succulent list of beverages options in the East side of Frankfort Ave
The fried egg sandwich, some Illy coffee, and some fresh baked bread to go, perfection! But let's not forget about their breakfast pastries, which are exceptional!
Awesome brunch place! The food was cooked well, service was quick and kind, and the food was presented well. Not a place for picky eaters as alot of the meals were very specific flavors. Loved the food!
Delicious! What a wonderful restaurant and bakery! Staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was amazing like all restaurant should be! Blue dog always has that little extra something that puts it over the top! Fresh ingredients! Hey must visit if you’re coming to Louisville or if you live here!
Expect a wait on Friday/Saturday (I’ve waited 25-30 minutes in line before during peak hours) Or just order on their website for pickup before you drive there.
This bakery is THE place for pastries in Louisville. I would take a bullet for their chocolate croissant. Their quiche is the only quiche I’ve ever liked. I love their bread. I feel so aesthetic eating here, exactly like I walked into a French bakery. If I were independently wealthy I would eat here every day and not get tired of it. The people are always kind.
Very nice shop. Good selection of savory and sweet options. Staff seemed to care about the details.
Great atmosphere and an incredible selection of impressively hand crafted pastries and drinks. This place is dripping with aesthetic.
Fun and fresh atmosphere! Loved every bite! Reasonable priced! Recommend getting a chocolate chip cookie and coffee afterwards!!!!! Will go again!
If you know, you know. If you don't know you absolutely have to go here and find out! Great for grabbing something and running or staying and enjoying a slow meal. Odds are you'll have to wait for a table though.
Okay so this was my first time eating at Blue Dog though I have heard many awesome things! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the food was great and it has that home kitchen feel to it! Definitely will be returning!
The wait around noon wasn't so bad today so me and my fiance got right in. I can't remember our server's name but she was really sweet and very nice. Everything was delicious and came out quickly.
If you're looking for an exceptional boulangerie, look no further. Beautiful and delicate pastries for those seeking both savory and sweet. Incredible Baguettes. Plenty of convenient take and bake options for larger parties. The quality and charm of this place is not to be missed. Make sure to get there early. Friendly staff.
I went there today for the first time and ordered a turkey sandwich. The food and Baguette was very good! The staff are very friendly!
Very nice and quiet place with a variety of baked goods. They serve nice coffee and their staff is friendly and polite. I ordered a cherry galette and a danish, and both were delicious.
The only thing that I had a lack of was packing. They just stacked these two buns in a paper bag with no napkins or wrapping and it was a bit inconvenient to eat them outside.
However, it's a minor issue. I'd definitely try something else from their menu.
I only had a mocha, and didn’t try a delicious looking goodie, but the mocha was fantastic! Not too sweet, but the perfect balance of chocolate decadence and coffee frothed with milk😋.
Staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was lovely.
Perfect pastries
Delicious sandwiches.
You should rush, otherwise they are out of most items.
Prepare to wait 30-45 minutes for ordering.
Great place got too excited to wait to eat, haha. I got the toasted baguette with ham and provolone cheese. To die for also Irish coffee and breakfast wine...a little hot in here but GREAT ATMOSPHERE
Lives up to the hype. Expect to wait for a table if you are dining in, but it is totally worth it! Fresh, delicious brunch.
Nothing like the aroma of freshly baked bread and hearty, scrumptious sandwiches! A quaint , pretty place to go with a super friendly staff and sandwiches that’ll keep you quite full that are packed with flavor! The coffee here is delightful too.
Amazing and delicious selection of Danish and other european style pastries and coffee. The best in Louisville 💯. Recommended. …
Super professional staff, smiling and focused. Gave me good information about the pastry selection and recommended a coffee choice. i had a few specific and esoteric requests and they accommodated without a hint of condescendence. On top of that its well done and cute inside, and the pastries and coffee were great!
Have purchased their divine bread at Full Stop before, decided to go by their cafe and - wowie! Beautiful space, tremendously friendly staff, delicious offerings. Their safety protocol is exceptional. Really happy to hear about their online ordering feature too. A very relaxing pleasure in times when doing errands can be quite nerve-wracking. Excellent service. Fantastic bread!
Food is delicious. They make great bread that is served in several restaurants locally. I wish it was bigger. I hate touching elbows with the table next to me. Also, if t here is any way they could make their bread softer so I didn't feel like I was going to chip my tooth every bite - that would be great.
Cute little cafe with delicous muffins, tasty treats, and fantastic bread (when available...)
Costly. Bakery had very good items but for actual brunch or breakfast not a great selection. Enjoyed the outdoor area. Good coffee!
The Blue Dog is a nice cafe and bakery tucked away on Frankfort Rd in Louisville. Their baked items are really good and so is their menu/food; however, you need to get there before the regular breakfast or lunch hours crowd or you might have a lengthy wait as the cafe is rather small with limited tables. It can get hectic at peak hours then the otherwise polite and friendly servers seem frazzled to adequately care for all the customers. The last time I was there, we had to ask for 2 forgotten items twice before they were delivered to our table. Overall though, this is a worthwhile and popular place to eat with fresh, traditional food with flair!
The food here is great. They have a variety of options and all of them taste darn good. However, the cost for these dishes is pretty astronomical and the portions are tiny. I'm a small guy named my wife is small too, and we were both still very hungry after our meals. Compared to other restaurants you can get twice as much food and just as good quality. If money is not an issue, it's an awesome place for brunch and the outside seating is great on a cool morning.
My family and I have loved Blue Dog Cafe for years, but recently I've noticed that their kouign-amann have been over cooked. This is a great disappointment to me because the pastries are one of my favorite parts of my visit to the place. After getting one during my last several trips and being disappointed I don't think I'll be getting one again. I was also extremely disappointed to discover that the size of the pizza and the amount of toppings have decreased yet the price has stayed the same. This has caused my usual five star review to fall to a four. If the pizza didn't taste so good I probably would never come back at all.
I stopped in at Blue Dog yesterday to pick up some baked goods before heading back to Canada. The variety is insane!! I left with some rosemary bread, cookies, and a morning bun. They use really great ingredients for the baked goods and you can taste it.
We then dined in their cafe. Their breakfast options are great because they use their own baked goods. I had an egg sandwich on a bun they make in house. It had great flavour, I just wish it and the accompanied beans were hotter. The sandwich definitely sat in the kitchen for a bit because the yolk had already solidified on the plate when it arrived.
This was a great spot and so happy I incorporate it into my holiday. I will definitely come back.
I recently had a kouign-amann for the first time on my Philly vacation and had to see if any bakery in Louisville also made these delicious desserts. Blue Dog popped up and I visited them this morning. This bakery had a richness in both variety and quality of their pastries and breads and I absolutely love this place! My first (and only) choice for a local bakery that is close to my home!
Man. These are some of the best pastries I've ever had. I haven't gotten anything from Blue Dog that disappoints. I would add that, in my opinion, the chocolate chip cookie is the best I've ever had from a bakery. No shade to Please and Thank You, they attempt to do two different things.
The highest guality baked items (chocolate croissant and queen a mon) I have had in a long time (crumb, taste and cross section. They do a great job with the coffee too. Didn't have any prepared food but I bet it is good too
Crunchy, flakey, chewy, and always fresh, their breads and pastries are refined, perfectly executed versions. Adventurous, sophisticated flavors shine brightly in their pastries and muffins which are thankfully not overpowered by sugar. Their bread has been my favorite in the city for well over a decade.
BEST PASTRY IN LOUISVILLE! Closest to French pastry as you can get.
Stopped in for a quick business lunch. Decor is very cool, service prompt and friendly, coffee was awesome, and the bacon egg and avocado sandwich was great. I generally try and stay away from baked goods but this place looks awesome. I'll have to come back and try some more things.
The BEST morning eatery in town! A European feel and incredible food and fabulous coffee! The pastries are out of this world! I am a local and absolutely LOVE this place! We're SO LUCKY to have this restaurant in our city. Great staff too.
Thank you so much! Hands down best bread I have ever had, ever!!!
Everything at blue dog is amazing. The bread obviously, but their pastries are incredible. The quiches, croissants, and kougin amanns especially are some of my favorites. They always have a bunch of different stuff so there’s lots of options. I haven’t been to the cafe in awhile but I remember it always being great as well. Everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful.
All things considered, this the best place for brunch & lunch in Louisville. This is where I take out of town friends & clients for a locally owned top quality lunch. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is comfortably upscale without overwhelming while still approachable and familiar at the same time. Oh, did I mention the bread? Fresh baked on premises with quality ingredients. It makes their sandwiches among tops in town. Try the bacon & free range egg pizza - it will surprise in a pleasant way. The pastries & desserts are a standard treat that I must bring home to loved ones each time I come. Editor's note: they are my client in a redevelopment project just 2 blocks away. I expect equally wonderful food and a place that matters from future Red Hog Cafe + Butcher in the summer.
Best lunch spot in town, in my opinion! I love the turkey sandwich but recently they had a chicken noodle soup that was sooo good! All of the team that works there is so friendly and accommodating!
So I've only been here once but the food definitely left an impression. I had the poached egg and bacon pizza which was delicious and way too much food for one person. I barely made a dent in it by myself and my husband enjoyed his bacon and egg sandwich so much he wouldn't help me eat it. I suggest bringing help if you plan to eat a pizza or a large appetite whichever you can come up with. Excited to go back and try some of their delicious looking pastries and other menu items.
Always great dessert items. Heavenly bread
Food is exquisite and will melt in your mouth. Prices are moderate to high depending on what you order. The coffee was way too hot for me to drink. If you want to sit and eat there be warned you have to ask the counter for a table and may have to wait to be seated. This may be a bakery and have that in their name, be assured you have to wait to be seated although the only place that states this is on an outside table that sits in the sun and yes they will tell you if you try to sit before asking. The staff is courteous at best.
Love this place! On our most recent visit I ordered their incredible toasted baguette and my husband and daughter enjoyed the breakfast pizza. Ben our server, was perfect. A nice place for lunch too. Great atmosphere and service is always top-notch.
Great selection of baked goods as well as wonderful service along with it.
As for food; the Egg in the Basket pastry is good as a savory breakfast. Also the Pumpkin Maple Bun' was very nice and crisp on the outside and sweet and velvety on the interior.
Overall is was amazing and would recommend it to anyone who is nearby and isn't afraid to try something new.
Awesome bakery for pastries and breads. It is definately not like a box store bakery. You get what you pay for and the taste and quality are excellent!
Great bakery and breakfast/lunch spot! Also pretty easy takeout/pickup experience. Looking forward to being able to frequent Blue Dog more whenever things begin to normalize from a covid standpoint.
By far and away the best bakery cafe in the city of Louisville. Excellent coffee and the pastries are created meticulously. It's a joy just to walk in and smell the creativity. It's all good.
One of the only American places you can get real European-style pastries and breads. The flavors are incredible, desserts are amazing. Love it here.
The establishment was filled with people.
Everyone was happy while waiting in line. The staff was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious.
I love this place! I can't say enough about it. The croissants are out of this world, you cannot find anything a better in all of Louisville may I say even Kentucky? They are made fresh every morning. All their baked goods are made there on location every day. Some reviewers complain about the bad service, but I would disagree. This place is not a fast food place its a place to come relax enjoy the atmosphere have a good conversation and enjoy your food. Yes you may have to wait, but that's because the place is small and super popular and busy.
They have the best Macrons I've ever had
Not a lot of variety in their menu but everything we got was good. The grilled cheese for kids can be enjoyed by adults as well- simply amazing!!! They have the best muffin in the world! Light, flaky, just the right amount of cinnamon-sugar and chopped pecans. Even if you dont like muffins, you will love this one because its not truly a muffin.
The apple turnover was great; made with croissant bread and the recrystallized sugar on top was very good. We ate the Cobb salad and Nicoise salad. I chose the Nicoise salad, wasn't sure of how I would like it from the description. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and how filling it was. Everyone says good things about blue dog. All the employees are friendly. Will go again.
I wish there were more places like this in Louisville! The pastries and breads are amazing. The coffee is wonderful too. The cafe area is super tight, so I tend to get items to go if I’m by myself.
I love their chocolate croissant, and their small menu lets them focuses on quality ingredients. It gets pretty busy so anticipate a wait and bring a jacket if it happens to be cold because there are quite a few tables outside. This is my favorite bakery in St. Matthews.
It's the closest thing to France you'll taste in Louisville. The name says bakery but the flavor says Boulangerie - I come for lunch but I do not leave without a baguette 🥖 …
Great food and nice little shop. Good place to grab a meal on a nice day.
Dishes with exquisitely balanced flavors at the perfect portion size. I appreciate the hard working and informative staff. The chef, Andy personally delivered our starter (a delicious creamed artichoke soup). You will be seeing me here often!
Very nice atmosphere for morning brunch or coffee. It's a beautiful little restaurant on Frankfort. I tried the Spinach & Egg with goat cheese quiche and it was delicious, I'll be back to try more! The only complaints I have are the limited hours and the food is slightly overpriced.
We love Blue Dog! The food is glorious, and the staff are super friendly. They always remember our, and other customers favorite pastry. I would give them 1000 stars if I could!
We had the baked goods with coffee! 😋
Their Morning Glory is the best! Awesome bakery.
Offer a huge variety of homemade breads & pastries. I have never been disappointed with my purchases from there.you may experience a wait for a table but with the variety of items listed on the menu differently worth it . don't forget to save room for desert . Family friendly .
Great bakery, and a lovely restaurant for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
Their breakfast is fabulous! We always visit when we are in town, and I cannot express how amazing their desserts and baked goods are. Yes there is usually a wait to be seated, but well worth it.
Very good bread and pastries. Reminds me of my time in Paris. Superb menu and friendly staff. Always crowded though. If you get there relatively early you shouldn't have a wait if you want to dine in.
Lunch here requires patience. The wait isn't short, but the food is tasty. It can be loud and crowded, and the plates seem a bit pricey for what you get. Be sure to grab a loaf or two of their delicious bread before you leave.
5-stars for bakery
3-stars for cafe
Staff was friendly and outgoing! Food was phenomenal.
Everything they had looked delicious! Great bakery items and coffee. Menu for table service is small but every item our party of 4 had was excellent. Definitely would return to try more items.
Lovely European style bakery. Pastry sold out fast
Best pastries in Louisville. The line can get long but it's worth it!
Really nice spot for brunch. I've always left extremely satisfied. The food is fresh, delicious, and features many local ingredients. Make sure you get dessert, it's worth it!!
The food here is so amazing! Blue Dog has a great environment. I had never been here before and asked my server Hannah to pick something off the menu for me, and she knocked it out of the park. I will absolutely be back here!
My husband and I had lunch there recently, outside under the awning. The turkey, swiss and bacon sandwich was delicious and more than I could eat, and my husband loved the pepperoni pizza with arugula. Only downside is very little parking.
My favorite eatery in lousiville Must try. Especially kouighn amahn, French pastries offered only on Friday and Saturday. The bread is the best in Louisville. The brunch options are also incredible, I recommend the tarting.
Only good bakery in town! THE BEST! Very close to baked goods you would get in Europe! Try the nine grain bread and the caramel apple scones if they have them.
The place is small and you do have a wait. The server tried to sit us at a table with other people. The food was good but my bacon was cold. I probably won't come back it is just too small and too crowded.
The staff was kind and knowledge. The baked goods were delicious. The wait was short. I recommend it (specifically the breakfast pizza and Cobb salad) very highly.
The molasses oatmeal raisin cookie is truly my favorite food product and without a doubt the very best cookie on the planet!!! How they are able to get them chewy on the outside, soft on the inside with that perfectly crispy edge...oh and they have a lot of other good stuff too!
As a Cafe I expected to see more seats, the breakfast or brunch menu is very limited, I just got a tea and croissant , good quality
Great levain French bread, delicious pistachio swirls, and ginger scones. Nice atmosphere café!
First time there, and their lunch was Great..! Soup and Sandwich special was the Bomb 👌 All of the help in here were very helpful with any questions about their products and very Personable... 5 Stars for Sure! …
Fantastic local eatery. Great bakery and top notch pork. Just four stars because of higher prices, occasional crowds and long waits and espresso is made with pods.
I have not eaten at the café but have heard good things. I go up here a couple times a month to get a few loaves of bread. It's one of if not the best bakery in the USA. Their bread remind me of what I would get when I lived in Europe.
Quaint bakery along Frankfort. We sat in the table area for breakfast. Shared the yogurt & granola and we ordered some pastries which were brought from the bakery to our table by our server. Great Illy coffee too.
Very good food, quaint atmosphere. Their Flatbreads are huge and tasty.
You get what you pay for. By that I mean 6 dollar pastries. YUMMY. Also their fresh bread is to die for. Love this place. .
Great chocolate croissants and oatmeal molasses cookies. Tipped by John Mariani's recent article about Louisville. Rest of bakery goods looked great and will have to try later this week during our visit to Louisville.
Use to stop by here on my way to work in the morning. Coffee always great as is the various selection of eats. Not overly hipsterish or pretentious. Highly recommend.
Pastries are awesome, bread is to die for if you like a San Francisco Cisco style hard crust. I prefer to do carry out. A true gem of a place
Don't miss to visit this place!
There is no better bakery in Louisville for flaky pastries of all kinds, the incredible Kouign Amann, and their french bread. They have the Secret.
Chicken cobb salad is fresh and delicious. Gourmet bacon, chicken, blue cheese and perfect vinaigrette
Love love love this place. Every single bite is wonderful!
Loved the place, relaxing little spot with great menu items, local brews and fresh pastries and coffee.
Excellent Flabread breakfast.
Great lunch date with the wife. Cobb salad was fantastic. Pastry was delicious albeit expensive. Nice location on Frankfort.
Best bakery in Louisville. Not only do they make great breads, but they know how to use them on their menu.
Not only is the food delicious because of its freshness, I love visiting this part of town. Today is a rainy day, and the restaurant side is full, but the energy is very positive and the staff though rushed and busy have such lovely smiles!
The sandwiches serve to highlight just how amazing their handmade bread is. Excellent service. Pleasant atmosphere. Just lovely.
Best bakery in town. French style bakery so a lot of their breads are vegan. They also offer a fantastic brunch.
Excellent choices for breads & baked goods, sandwiches.
I've never had a bad experience here, food or service wise. Both have always been excellent. Be prepared to wait 15-30 minutes for a seat during peak times!
The food was so yummy. I wish the line for the bakery moved faster because I didn't have time to order a million things to go.
It's a consistent 4 Star place, but just wished that it's open for regular service.
6 star on their cookies!
Awesome pastries! Great spot to sit and study. Coffee was not my favorite but the pastries were amazing!
OMG! Only the best bakery in town!
Go early on Friday and Saturday to get the Kouign-amann and other delights! Call in your wish list the day before to ensure you get what you want!
They have a very good Reuben, my son enjoys the grilled cheese and their treats are great. If you haven't tried this place give them a try.
The best place in town for have breakfast 🍳, the food is to die for, my favorite is the eggs Benedict and the crepes, I'm always order the same, you won't find them anywhere else in the way they make them, a little pricey but worths the money 💰 it's always very busy specially weekends but the service is very... …
Wonderful bakery! The only negative is the extremely limited hours. Don't just head over, call or check online to see if they are still open. Otherwise, highly recommended!
The egg pizza is one of the best meals in Louisville. They also have the best bread and pastries in my opinion.
The best bread in town! When I can't stop in the bakery, I stop at the local vendors that carry their bread. I know the delivery days for all near me. You won't be sorry.
Best bread ever. Had a berry danish, it was heavenly.
Delicious, picked up brunch for today and a sausage casserole for tomorrow.
Everything that we have tried from here has been amazing. Only change I would make is adding a sourdough "loaf". Having fresh sourdough bread to make sandwiches would be heavenly.
Local gem. This place has fantastic baked goods and an excelent, though limited, menu. Stop in for a coffee and a snack, or so breakfast here, and you won't be disappointed.
Great bakery goods, unique foods very clean cut atmosphere. But in 2016 their lack of diversity behind the counter costs them 2 stars.
This is the level of place you have to go early because they sell out of bread. It's not the kind of place that will take a shortcut to make more, faster. It's the best bread in town, imho
They do a great job here. The food is well done and the service is also very good. great stop for a light lunch.
AMAZING bread and baked goods. The food is great too, but the bread really brings it all together. I cannot give their bread enough praise.
We loved this place! A perfect place for a brunch. Very delicious food and an awesome atmosphere.
Love their bread, sandwiches and salads. Sometimes difficult to find parking, but worth it.
Great selection, friendly staff!
Their selection made me feel as if I was back in Paris.
Bravo,
Ciao
Great options of french pastries, trendy atmosphere and friendly personnel!
Beautiful space with even more beautiful pastries and bread. Staff is unbelievably helpful and friendly. Worth a trip!
I am giving 3 stars because I don't want to harm the business... I am visiting Louisville and drove across town to eat at this place as it says it is open and have good reviews online to find out that it is closed...
Very very busy and rightly so, fantastic coffee and even better baked goods Looking forward to getting back to Louisville.
Near ideal bakery. The croissants, the rhubarb galette, the quiche all excellent. The coffee is also very good
Love, Love Love it!
It is always a wait :-(
but the quality is superb!
European style bistro. The highest of quality on all planes of products and services.
I always seem to end up there on a busy Saturday morning. The buzz is electrifying as everyone gathers. Great place to treat yo'self!
My first time there. Had an amazing blueberry muffin. This place is a must visit. Keep it local y'all.
I've gotten some of the best pastries and baguettes here. I am never disappointed!
I cannot recommend this bakery enough! The spinach and egg croissant and 9grain bread is phenomenal!
The standard for bread in Louisville. A cut above. They have great pastries and a nice lunch too.
Fun atmosphere, just wished they had more of a variety of food to choose from at the counter at 10:00 am
They have had good bread for years. I hope to get to try their new joint, Red Hog, sometime soon.
Pastries were just delicious!!! Service was great!! Fresh and tasty. You can sit inside or outside. 😊 …
I highly recommend the Blue Dog ! We were in town for the weekend and wanted to try something new, and we were very impressed :) do yourself a favor and have breakfast there sometime !
So grateful that this bakery is in our neighborhood! Fresh and tasty bread, pies, and macaroons.
Very pleasant experience. Great food, great service. Always crowded but worth waiting.
Enjoyed the variety & selection of things to choose from. The customer service was excellent.
I love this great staff good service good coffee too pretty clean family friendly
My coffee was never empty and my belly was extremely pleased after eating here staff very friendly will come back for sure
One of Louisville’s hidden gems; exceptional bakery and lunch bites. Long waiting time for Lunch & weekend’s
Best baguettes in the city, delicious Turkey sandwiches, kouign amanns, and croissants. Everything is good here, seriously.
Food was wonderful, the service was terrible. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. After taking our order our server did not return to our table until after another server had delivered our food.
They have a me menu that undersells and over delivers in a big way, also the best baked goods around
Perfect in every way except you sell out too quickly on some if my favorites like the spinach egg croissant.
Darian was very helpful and glad I took his suggestion to visit Red Hog for items needed for meat and cheese board.
This is great for a chocolate croissant and the atmosphere is very fun and cozy inside or the sidewalk patio is great for people watching its. Very hip.
Great food great service
The best bread in town. You can't go wrong with blue dog. Whatever you get is awesome
Great food, eclectic menu. You can dine Al fresco if the weather permits.
WOW! Just WOW this place is SO great! A little more pricy than some places, but worth it, in a great location with friendly wait staff.

Great spot for breakfast/brunch/lunch-or just stop by for a baguette or croissant- coffee is great too!
Very good food and atmosphere. Pricey but average for the area..
Great service and food but it was a little too close and noisy to have a relaxed atmosphere

They have a French butter bread that is out of this world, we turned around and got another before heading home.
Pros: aesthetic and tasty food.

The hours posted on Google are incorrect. The bakery & center service opens at 7am, with self-seating available. Full service is available from 9-2, and the bakery closes entirely at 4.
