Heard about these famous donuts and obviously had to give it a try. I can definitely tell you they’re AMAZING. So simple yet delicious without the crazy $$$. They’re baked fresh daily and tend to get pretty busy so I’d recommend making the stop in the morning/ early afternoon.

Pretty good overall experience. Was going through Indianapolis and heard about this place, so I had to give it a shot. Quick service with great prices. Paid a little over $9 for a dozen of mixed donuts. Just know that this place is CASH ONLY. If you don't have cash, their is a gas station right across the street that has an ATM. The donuts were good but are a tad on the small side. They had some nice texture and of course it was sweet. They make cakes here too!

Long's bakery has been a staple on the west side for decades. The glazed donut is by far the best in town. They also have a wonderful variety of other classics like the cake donut, also with icing the Long John's, jelly, cream horn's, apple fritters, brownies, I mean this place has everything. If you want a great donut and your on 16th Street. By all means stop At Long's. I find that the best time is between 1-2 pm not so busy. But other than that this place is crazy busy and you'll have to wait but The ladies behind the counter are super friendly and super fast. So have your cash in hand cause that's all they take here. But believe me... it's worth every penny and worth the wait!

The best donuts out there. The cinnamon fried and the glazed yeast are my personal favorites, but I’ve never had anything that wasn’t delicious here. Cash only. We went around 1pm on a Saturday and the line wasn’t bad and moved quickly. The woman with purple hair who helped us was really friendly.

Nothing about this trip will be easy. Parking is lousy, But oh my goodness this is Indianapolis’s best donuts. The glazed donuts are the best you’ll ever eat. And the apple fritters are my absolute favorite. This place will not disappoint. The line is long, the parking is horrible. And when the donuts are gone, there gone. Worth every bit of the trouble. Get here early for best results.

Long's always reminds me of the bakery my grandfather and I would walk to for donuts on the weekends, when I was a child. The donuts are just as I remember from that time. The staff is always quick and friendly, sometimes too quick as there is so much to choose from. The only downside to Long's is they only take cash, something I rarely carry. That said, when I have cash on me and I'm in the neighborhood, Long's is always a must.

I came here a few times. Last time I stopped here it was a rude old lady in the front taking orders. It was at least 3 years ago, since that day I said I will never comeback, but today my daughter wanted to tried this donuts and it was great experience, it was a Spanish lady on front very kind and friendly, also another lady was helping out and both of them are ver professional employees. For sure I'll be back.

Here is heavenly fresh baked goodness!!!! These are THE best donuts ever. Even with a mask on we could smell them in the air outside. This place has been in business over 50 years in the same FAMILY. It's the best ever, don't forget cash only. Hands down the best baked goods anywhere.

Awesome doughnuts yeast doughnuts are made fresh daily if you get them warm they taste even better. They have various brownies like the peanut butter chocolate (shown), German chocolate , and two others. long johns are good. The only thing that is expensive there is a gator which cost $3 for a short one and $6 for a large one. The apple fritter taste good they now have Cinnamon and glazed twist. It is normally busy there (it's because it taste so good)

We were immediately greeted with a good morning and a smile by staff. The aroma of freshly baked goods smelled like a dozen of lit scented candles. It was very hard to choose what to pick. And the cost was way cheaper than any other donut shop I've been to recently. A must try for anyone in the area or traveling through, just be sure to have cash because they are CASH ONLY.

The best darn donuts ever. My husband didn't want a birthday cake for his birthday. He wanted Long's glazed yeast. Woke him up singing happy birthday at 6am. Just so he could have a warm Sugarland ( glazed yeast donut) in his mouth. Love their powered yeast also. All there goodies are good.

Obviously an Indy staple! . . . Last week I had to order six dozens for a meeting at work . . . LONG'S CAME THROUGH WITHOUT A HITCH! The kind woman who answered the phone (I called Wed. for a Friday pickup) was courteous, efficient and knew how to communicate. When I picked the order up Friday, everything was correct and ready to go. My guys devoured the donuts within two hours...I'll definitely be back for my big orders.

I used to stop at Long's bakery coming from school back in 68! It was good then and it's still good today. My aunt and uncle lived on the west side of town but I went to George Washington so we had to go downtown and then transfer that's when I found out about this wonderful bakery.

So when I'm in Indy this is a must stop for me and my wife. She loves the Blueberry cake donuts. I can't get enough of the hot glazed yeast donuts. The Mary Ann's are so good it's crazy. If I lived closer I'd be there every day maybe twice a day.

This is an absolute gem not far from downtown. The staff is delightful and welcoming. They are very helpful with us newcomers and helped us through the menu. Wonderful donuts and the carmel Alligator is excellent - worth the trip!

Came by for my first time and it was intense. Go knowing what you want. Bring CA$H! No credit. I felt like the Soup Natzi episode on Seinfeld, because the line is long. The difference is they have friendly help. I had a sweet lady help me as I did not know what to order. She was patient. I could hear a few behind me huffing. Don't let it bug you. I ordered a half dozen of Boston cream filled. Very good! You can ask for warm donuts and I'll do that next time!

These are the best donuts in the world and they have tons of sweets to tempt you. They only take cash but have an atm on site. Parking is challenging and if you're there warly then be prepared to wait. But if you're lucky to get a box of yeast donuts hot off the fryer then you will be convinced. Just try not to eat them all on your way home.

This will ALWAYS be in Indianapolis staple! The only thing I wish they would do is start allowing credit card purchases as I feel they miss out on a lot of corporate money not doing that. A lot of businesses only work off of credit cards and don't have/allow petty cash. I remember one contractor I was working for wanted to place an order for hundreds of donuts for all the workers on a job site and was unable to because they did not accept credit cards. That lost business goes to competitors whose donuts are not nearly as good. Its 2022... time to adjust the business model.

Everyone has their favorites, but I've never met anyone who didn't like Long's donuts! I called in my order on Wednesday for an early Friday morning pickup. When I arrived about 5:20 am, there was already a couple of guys in line. By the time they opened at 5:30 am, the line had grown to somewhere between 5 and 10. My order was ready, the staff was very helpful and friendly as usual, and the recipients were thrilled to have donuts to start their day! Unfortunately, I don't have any photos from this visit, but have some previous ones that I will try to add in the future.

First time visit. Pretty good donuts for Saturday at 8pm. It was busy. They were out of a few things. Apple fry was my favorite. Haven't tried the jelly yet. I was told they're better when fresh. Still yummy and very sweet. Went well with coffee too.

I grew up in Indianapolis, but haven’t lived here since I graduated. It was a family tradition, ever time I came for a visit, my grandfather would get a box of Long’s. I moved back to Indy over the summer and couldn’t wait to get Long’s. This was my first time standing in line and purchasing a box of glazed for my family. The line was long but moved quickly. I was disappointed that the donuts weren’t warm BUT they still tasted just as I remembered. My only regret is that I got a dozen instead of a half. I can’t stop!

Not sure how I have lived in the city so long and never had Longs.. I can see why this is such an Indianapolis staple. Absolutely Devine! I am so glad that I chose to get a "sampler" of what they offer, as well as a dozen glazed yeast to compare to all the others, A+. Longs is definitely now a family staple.

I am writing about Long's Bakery. I have pics I posted from the outside because it is ALWAYS crowded on the inside. The staff are friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable about ALL OF THEIR PRODUCTS, There are not just donghuts, but almost everything you could dream about, like visions of sugar plums dancing in the children's head's. LOL. There are also alligator cakes, they make Mexican Wedding🧁🍩👩‍⚕️ Cake cookies, and my favorite the longjohs with a cream filling. ( YUM YUM ). I bought 12 the last time I was there, and only got to eat 2 out of 12!! My husband and great nephew saw to the rest. I cannot blame my family though, due to their softness and wonderful taste. The only thing that makes it a little harder for me is because it is ÇASH ONLY, NO CHECKS OR CARDS. LONG'S BAKERY WITH ALL of its cakes, cookies, and doughnuts is worth having to use cash instead of card. I will try for more pictures of the inside next time, I WILL. BE GOING. BACK. FOR. M O R E !! LOL.

I've been hearing about Long's Bakery for a long time! My grandma who is well into her 80's has been going here since she was younger. Do not be dissuade by the outer appearance of the shop- for it is a GEM of a place located in Indiana! My friend and I got 1/2 dozen donuts (2 cinnamon twist, 1 Apple fritter, 1 blueberry, 1 glazed twist, 1 chocolate covered Bavarian creme) and it cost me $6.20 for ALL. Definitely loved the blueberry donut. I usually just get chocolate donuts but I think I saw another Yelp review where they raved about the blueberry so I decided to give it a try.

This place has been here for a long time. I would come her as a child, 30 years ago. It's staying power is a testament to its consistent quality, as is the line to order. We waited about 20 minutes to order last time we were there, which gave me enough time to run to the ATM across the street to get cash, they don't accept anything else. I went with a glazed twist, and it was delicious. If you want donuts, this is a great spot to get them. They also make cookies and cake, but I haven't tried those. It is reachable by a path that follows the white river that originates at riverside park, so it makes a great stop along that walk that can take you all the way to downtown.

I am from the area but moved away years ago, so I hadn't stopped by Long's in a ... well, long time. With restaurants reopening, I decided to stop in for some donuts from my childhood. Aside from the socially-distanced line, it was the same I remembered from my last visit. The yeast donuts are definitely their best, but only when fresh. To be honest, I have found no good way to reheat them without the dough becoming gummy. So only get what you'll eat in a day or two. All of the other filled donuts are okay, but nothing spectacular. Overall, Long's donuts are very good for reminiscing about simpler times, but (and this may be blasphemous) I think there are better donut shops out there for the price (and that also take credit card).

These are well made, very soft donuts. However, they are too sweet for my taste. But the biggest negative is the location. I did not feel safe leaving my car parked on the road outside the bakery. So my husband went into the store and I stayed in our vehicle. Thus, I didn't see/select the donuts myself which is the primary reason for 3 stars.

As a visitor to Indianapolis I had read about Long's Bakery and had to try it for myself. UNBELIEVABLE donuts. The glazed cinnamon roll was the single best bakery treat I have ever - EVER - had in my life. Ever. Their chocolate donuts - oh my, so good. Can I give them more than five stars??

In my opinion, the only donuts worth the calories! My favorites include the Blueberry Cake, Boston Creme and Classic Glazed. Echoing every other review, Long's is cash only and the line can (and will likely be) out the door, so plan accordingly. That said, staff are friendly and work quickly. If calories didn't count, I'd be here every weekend. HAH!

In my humble opinion it’s the best bakery in Indianapolis! Yea sometimes it gets crowded and line is long towards the sidewalk but they have very great service that get in & out. I really recommend you should at least try some of their delicious donuts and pastries.

Overall pretty good donuts here. They're known for it so not shocking that they are not bad donuts. I won't go so far to say they're the best donuts ever, though. They are just pretty good. Some Hoosiers would have my head for that but that's just how I feel about the donuts. Still, 5-star for the donuts. They will not disappoint. However, the boxes and packing is somewhat disappointing. Last time I got a half-dozen box that included one Bavarian creme and a jelly donut along with three regulars. The Bavarian creme, by the time I got home, was flat as a pancake. It had somehow collapsed in. All it's chocolate icing was attached to the jelly donut as they had not put in a paper to separate it either. The donuts were wedged in the box a bit too tightly. So the Bavarian creme was basically horrible and the jelly was now chocolate iced. :( I would have hoped a place that's been doing this for decades would have this figured out by now and either have flat boxes or bigger boxes with paper in between iced donuts to prevent sticking. We still ate all the donuts (I have teenagers, they eat anything) but I was disappointed. Also note: this is a cash-only business. No CC. I made the mistake of stopping by once without cash and had to walk right back out. Nothing more disappointing than getting excited for donuts and walking out empty-handed. I think in this day and age, not having CC payments is really not OK. Even if you charge a premium for it, I would've happily paid it. When you do cash only, it just makes me think they're trying to evade taxes and makes the place feel shady. Please add CC payments.

Stopped by this long standing establishment. I gave it 5 stars because I like donuts and baked goods. No shortage here. The staff was patient, helpful and friendly. Met a gentleman today when I was in line waiting for my turn. He had been going here since he was 4 years old and was 69 now. He said the neighborhood had changed for the better but the bakery was still the same. If you are in the area and need (Want) a donut or baked good stop by and make a purchase.

Took my mom here for the first time, she wanted Krispy Kreme’s but not while staying on the west side. She loved the fresh warm yeast glazed, we both eat two before pulling out of our parking spot. She thought I was crazy getting a dozen glazed and half a dozen cake, until she tasted them. The warm glazed yeast just melt in your mouth. Thinking about them is making me hungry, going to have to wake up early and make another doughnut run in the morning.

Hot and ready when you get there. There may be a line, but believe me it's worth the wait. Always friendly service and as the line moves forward it gives you a chance to network with others. I wish I had one on the Eastside of town. I'll be back for the jelly donut next time.

Lovely place to visit! Absolutely in love with the cinnamon fries. Amazing prices for the size of all of their baked goods. It’s frustrating to visit other places and see $4 cupcakes. The lines move fast so it’s well worth the wait and there’s a line on either side of the bakery so be sure to check which is shorter if you’re in a hurry. Cash only and there’s an ATM in the gas station across the street if you forget. A cool place to get a quick snack.

Two major downsides are tied together; first it's cash only, as a result there were panhandlers in the outside that would chase people to their cars to pressure them into giving them their money. Been getting the BEST yeast donuts from here for 30 years but when I bought a dozen on 8/23/2021 I realized the donut has changed considerably & not for the good! This used to be the lightest, airy donut with a light glaze of icing that flaked off at the slightest touch. Now it’s just average & like what Meijer & Walmart bakeries put out - more cake like, heavier, and the glaze is poured on extra thick & stays sticky. This IS NOT Long’s donut! I hope they go back, this is just another donut & certainly not worth standing in line for.

Longs has been my go to breakfast spot for years they have just about any donut you can imagine. Plenty of options for the picky eaters, fast and courteous staff. It helps to get in there a little early but you can get hot glazed yeast donuts anytime. If you have a hungry pack of kids or just grabbing some donuts before work you cannot go wrong with longs.

Before I go any further, I need to let you know I am a long standing, dyed-in-the-wool, "me love you long time" Krispy Kreme fan and there's nothing you insane Indianapolis loyalists are going to do to change that (so stop picketing my house!). That said, Long's Bakery is a very nice bakery. It's clean, the staff appears to be well practiced regarding hygiene (No hands that touch money touch food). They have a diverse array of offerings in both their donut and bread selections. They have an enclosed glass case presentation which limits the impact of flies in the warmer seasons and sneezy kids that can't turn their heads fast enough in winter. Depending on what time of day you go to Long's the wait can be off putting because of the aforementioned fanatics but I guess that's the price you pay for choosing a local icon to dunk in your coffee. However, if you know you're going to be tight on time and your picking up a box for the office; calling ahead is an option that will take some time off of your wait. All in all, although not my first choice for donuts, it's definitely a strong second and I don't have any reservations recommending them. There! I said it, now can I have my kid back?!

I have stopped in here for donuts many different times over the past few years, and they always seem to have the freshest, softest donuts that taste like they just came out of the oven a few minutes prior to my arrival. The ingredients they use are some of the best tasting I have had anywhere. The prices are normal for donuts. There is usually a long line of people as this place stays very busy and is well known to the locals in the area. Even with the constant line of customers the staff seems to always be pleasant and helpful. If you have not tried their donuts I highly recommend that you do.

Phenomenal. My friends took my wife and I when we visited Indianapolis last week and it was phenomenal. Yes, you should be prepared to wait outside in the heat due to the social distancing parameters allowing a limited number of people in at a time. Also there is no indoor dining (at least not currently) and they only take cash. Otherwise the doughnuts and cookies are excellent and very fairly priced!

There's a reason for the long Long's line. I have yet to find better yeast donuts than Long's... The other Long's baked goods are also excellent. The goods are 5 star quality but I hate that they're cash only. One visit I forgot they were cash only after waiting 20 minutes in a long line and if it wasn't for a friend in front of me to pay for my goods, I would of had to leave to go to the ATM machine... pay ATM fees to take out money.. then get back in the long line at the very back... that would of truly SUCK... and I would've did it to because I traveled from way on the other side of town just to get Long's... I understand the reason for the cash only is to save costumers money for the charge that the card companies charge business for using credit/debit cards, thus forcing the businesses to either eat the cost or pass the cost onto the consumer by increasing price of the goods. I think the remedy for this for Long's would be to offer a discount for costumers who pay cash (current price currently) & regular price (increased cost for Long's to accept credit/ debit cards). That way the customers who would need to make a trip to the ATM before going to Long's aren't paying the higher ATM fees than the smaller fees added to their Long's goods. The question Long's needs to ask is how many customers have they lost because of their cash only deal for those who don't want to get robbed by ATM fees or those who have cash but realize once in the business they want more than what they have cash for and only buy for what they have cash for. If I was the business owner that question would keep me awake at night.

We were surprised by three things though; the location that isnt so great, they only take cash and they only sell donuts- no physical place to sit once you buy them. If you enjoy good coffee with your donut, they only have filter coffee there so it's not the best to go with their delicious baked goodies. Hands down this place has the best donuts in the city and maybe the world. Lol Make sure to get a fresh yeast donut because they are delicious and yummy. Everything is great. There is always a police officer near by so go when ever, day or night. The lines are usually super long but its worth it and they go pretty fast. And the prices are normal, not expensive. If you have a large order, call it in the night before and they will have them ready the next day AND you don't have to wait in line. Just go to the cashier and they will get you checked out. Oh.....they only take cash.

If you're ever in Indianapolis, Long's Bakery should be the first place you go. It's small and you'd probably miss it if you're not paying attention, but that really adds to the charm of it, kinda like it's your little secret place. The info on the bakery's history is a great addition. The staff is very patient, especially since I was so engrossed by all of the options they had. Of course the sweets are AMAZING!!! The brownies and blueberry donuts are out of this world. Did I mention it's cheap? I'd give 10 stars if I could.

The good: There's no crazy concoctions here or "limited time only" flavors, just the classics that you know and love. Which means that they can focus on quality and delivery. The plain yeast donuts are great, and everything was fresh and delicious, but our favorites were the twists (glazed and apple-cinnamon). The atmosphere is home-y and humble, and the service was friendly and not pushy when it came time to order. The not-so-good: I've heard that the lines can get incredibly long, which would hinder the experience for sure. We waited 10 minutes or so, but 20 or more would be reason to wait another day. Also, the cash only aspect of it is a downer. Food: 9/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10

Wow! This place was amazing! At first it looks like there isn't a huge variety but every single thing my group got was delicious. We got a Mary Ann at the last minute to share amongst us and boy am I glad we did! It is like a high class ding dong and soooo yummy! There was a line of customers of all ages and races (who know a good thing when they taste it!) but it moved quickly. Staff was friendly and helpful. Long's Bakery has been there off of 16th Street since 1955, and for the last 64 years has been gracing Indianapolis with the best donuts the city has ever had. Never a disappointment, they're always warm, fresh, and the line for them always goes out the door. They take cash ONLY, which makes it even funnier that it's never been robbed. I mean, who's gonna rob a place that would have an entire city looking for you? Inexpensive, and positively delicious, they only reason you may find yourself going somewhere else for donuts, is due to their single location.

Absolutely incredible stop for donuts. Not only are they delicious, but they are super cheap! The only downside is that the location is cash only; they don't accept checks or cards. I really think it's worth the minor inconvenience. I recommend the cinnamon fries, the yeast donuts, and the glazed twists. They have a huge selection that has something for everyone, and none of it is bad. I have not tried any of their cakes or other bakery items, but they always look great!

Great bakery! Long's is an iconic West Side Indianapolis bakery! Famous for their doughnuts that are made fresh daily, and are delicious! The only reason I didn't rate this awesome bakery at five stars is that there is often a lonnnnng line, which can extend out the entryway and wind all the way down the sidewalk alongside Tremont Ave. to the end of their building! Long's bakery has a wide variety of cake and yeast Donuts. Their signature Donuts are there yeast Donuts and they are very delicious. They also have a variety of brownies and cakes and different kinds of pastries including cookies. I would highly recommend Long's bakery. Be prepared to stand in a decent-sized line though because they are very popular for their donuts however their staff is also pretty fast so you won't be standing there long regardless of the size of the line.

I've been buying Donuts at Long's Donuts for many years. Their donuts are always fresh and always delicious. They have a wide variety of donuts. I think the prices at Long's Donuts are better than just about anywhere else. Part of the reason for this goes back many years period Long's Donuts only accepts cash. Most probably this keeps their overhead costs low. They translate the savings to the customers. It doesn't matter which location you visit, there will definitely be a line. Sunday mornings are the longest lines of any day of the week.

Best donuts in Indy! I go to the downtown location. Never been to the southside one. Parking can sometimes be a pain. Normally when the lines are long, they get people in and out. You can only use cash which is sometimes a pain because I almost never carry cash. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Place is clean, and the yeast donuts are LIFE. Going to Long's is a treat.

Oh My! There are no words to describe how delicious these donuts are! It is so busy but so fast. People working are very friendly and can help with questions. Everything we had was so fresh and tasty. My favorites were the vanilla long johns and the blueberry. Plus, donuts are between .55 cents and .75 cents. It is crazy!!! There have no parking so you have to park on the street, but that stops nobody. Trust me it is worth it!!! We will be returning.

Impression: Small donut joint that is made for donut production. You don't eat here, you simply pick it up. Workers are fast-working and know what they're doing. If there is a long line, it moves relatively fast... however, there is a line in the morning, guaranteed, so arrive early. Pros: Wide variety of all kinds of donuts. They carry both of my favorite donuts: glazed chocolate cake donut and glazed blueberry cake donut... so good! Donuts are nice and moist (sorry if you hate that word). They literally have every kind of donut you could want and have the ability to cater to whatever your needs are. At work we sometimes order several dozen donuts for meetings... if you do this though, CALL AHEAD. They will have it ready for you so you don't spend time in line waiting for them to fill it and they can fill it also as they are able and have it ready for you. They also have milk. Cons: Parking is super weird. Their is a parking lot just to the east of the store.. but I don't think its really for customers. Pull into the gas station and just park there in front of the store (BUT NOT ON 16TH STREET!). Conclusion: Great for picking up donuts for friends or bringing to work. If you want donuts just for yourself, they can obviously do that too. Great for: large orders of donuts to go, small orders of donuts to go... notice everything is "to go". You don't eat them here.

Excellent donuts. The workers push boxes, which are fine if they will be eaten right away, but w/o preservatives they go stale quickly in a box. Jelly filled are best, but stale the quickest, even I bags. And be sure the clerk keeps them flat--icing is fragile and can slide off if not flat.

Also please have patience, especially during this COVID19 pandemic. The employees are very dedicated to their highest-quality craftsmanship, and they work as fast as they can. The average visit will only be about twenty minutes, depending on the hour of the day, they have their rush times. They open very early, and there's usually a line at open. DO NOT BE DISRUPTIVE, DO NOT RAISE YOUR VOICE, BE NICE! They have a hotline to IMPD, who you can bet are more than eager to remove trouble, and there should never be a reason to call them. The folks running the place obviously are doing it right, considering how long they've been in business. Parking is street-only, again, pack your patience. YOU WILL GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH! If you've never gone, go!

There is a line out the door every weekend for a reason. I ran my first marathon in Indy so I could eat Longs when I finished.

This place does really great business and have been around for a long. I didn't like the fact that it is so cramped for the business it gets and the hours that they are open. Plus the CASH ONLY is a downfall if you are from out of town, I had to go across the street to the gas station ATM and the fact that there is no parking available for all of its many customers is not a plus either. I had to park in the alley behind the establishment. If you are not willing to wait in line for 10 to 15mins then call ahead. Despite that the donuts are good. It will be awhile before I come back but I am coming back. Just bring cash and call ahead!

The yeast or glazed donuts is what everybody comes for - especially when they're hot and ready. But I also like the cinnamon swirl ones. One of the few places in town where social, economic, and racial barriers address left behind and people get in line in an orderly fashion without any didn't just waiting to get one of those donuts

Not the same as they used to be but, still the best donuts in Indy! Called in an order still had to wait in that famous line of theirs! Donuts are not the same quality as they used to be though,they seem to be a little drier than they were when I was a kid! Still, I would rather have these donuts, than anyone else's in Naptown! I grew up on the westside location do my opinion is based solely on this shop! Give them a try you won't be sorry you did! Only reason I gave 4 stars was because of the wait after called in order, and because donuts were dry this time around🍩

I'm not from Indianapolis so finding Long's Bakery was pure chance... I'm glad I did!! It was a lil overwhelming because I was new there and it was hustling but the chocolate covered cream filled was yum yum yum YUMMY!!! They are cash only so be prepared AND I'm not sure if this makes a difference but I went at 10am on a Sunday and stood on line for 15-20 mins.... So worth it!

ATTN: THIS REVIEW WASN'T MEANT FOR LONG'S...ITS MEANT FOR PANAS!! I HAD WALMART DONUTS THAT WERE BETTER THAN PANAS!! SORRY LONG'S...I LOVE YOUR DONUTS!! The donuts are ok. I don't understand all the fuss over the donuts. The shop is nice and clean. Very friendly staff. They have a wide variety of drinks. I think they may have some type of sandwiches in the cooler up front where the drinks are located. It's closer and more convenient then Longs Bakery... but it doesn't even compare. Just my opinion. Panas does not put hardly any filling in there bakery items. I mean, c'mon with the jelly. Jelly is not a high commodity/expensive food item. And there's like 1/16 tspn, of Bavarian cream in the Boston Cream donuts. Why bother? I hate searching through the hole for the cream, just to discover no cream...very disappointing. But...if Panas would just add a little more fluff and stuff, I think they could give Long's a run for their money. If you go, try the apple donuts. No cream required I think the drive-thru is an excellent idea. Should bring in alot of customers this spring. So.. c'mon with the fillings Panas!! You Can Do It. Update!!!! I had a good experience it normally is a long line so that was to be expected but a cashier serving a family bin front of me was rude and mean cause they didn't speak English as a first language and obviously knew the cake donut they was pointing to but kept asking what donut are you talking about and please read the sign until the cashier that took my order asked if the wanted the cake donut I have never had a bad experience here but that event has tarnished my love of Longs

Absolutely the best donuts in town. Listed as a top 31 donut maker in the country by Thrillist, and top ten in the country by others, Long's is the king of yeast donuts. No hipster chocolate ganache and bacon donuts here, just pure, unadulterated, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. There is a line out the door most times, and its cash only. For a competitive cake donut, go to Taylor's bakery.

Long's Bakery is an Indy staple. Because it's so popular, there are usually lines in the morning, especially on the weekends. So give yourself some extra time there. Also, parking can be difficult sometimes, so you may have to park down the road and walk. So if there's rain or snow, be prepared to walk in it. Their doughnuts 🍩 and bakery 🍰🥐🍞 items are wonderful though. You'll definitely find something you enjoy. Happy Eating.

I am so glad that this place is still in business. University Pastry Shop (the cousin of this bakery that had the same donut recipe) went out of business some time ago. My grandmother worked there and may have managed to find the recipe one day in 1968 ;) Long story short the donuts are really good.

The things that I have heard about this Bakery made me believe that this was the best place ever............. I was extremely disappointed when I finally got the chance to go. The danishes were dry. The brownies definitely were extremely small and overpriced. The donuts were good but not to the point that everybody makes it seem.

The absolute best bakery in Indianapolis and the surrounding area. This is the ONLY bakery we bring in to work when someone incurs a donut violation. Get there early (before 630am) or else you will have a bit of a wait. And remember to bring CASH!

Definitely a MUST VISIT for anyone in Indy. I have traveled the world to many places, and I was raised in the home town of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and I will say without question that Long's doughnuts are in my very 1st place position, tied with Mr. Donut in Tokyo. Long's baked goods are immaculate. Everything I have ever tried from there is absolutely perfect in flavor and texture. Fantastic 'old time' feel to the place with a small, no frills lobby. But be aware that they are in fact ***CASH ONLY***, however they are excellently priced. The neighborhood surrounding Long's on the west side can be a bit "interesting", so utilize situational awareness in the area. Lines can be long, including out the door onto the sidewalk during peak times. But, the line moves fast, and the wait is worth it.

The yeast doughnuts are so good! But the wait is a bit long, maybe that’s why they call it that! Last time I went there was an officer on duty which was nice since it’s in a rougher part of town. Suggest you go during daytime.

While I haven't actually been in to the bakery, I can put my head next the dozen that a coworker brings and imagine the wonderful smells coming out of that place. Long's classic glazed donut is very light and airy. It is on the edge of being almost too sweet, but I feel like it is less sweet than a Krispy Kreme original. I am always excited for Long's donuts and want to try a hot fresh one at some point.
