Reviews of FRENCH RIVIERA Bakery Cafe
Yu Yu
We ordered a heart and healthy scramble 🍳, a spicy chicken avocado burger 🍔 and a cappuccino ☕️ The overall experience is amazing thanks to the waitress who patiently explained to us the menu options, the nice ambience, the good coffee and the tasty breakfast plates! I was disappointed with the croissant though as I was expecting an authentic French croissant 🥐 but it is at least crunchy and edible so I maintain the overall 5 star ratings for this café. We will be back to try the quiche and lavender latte 🤩

One of my favorite places for breakfast in all of Houston. All of the baked goods I've had are incredible. Highly highly recommend the almond croissant, it will melt your mouth.
Great coffee selection, as well as an ample breakfast and lunch menu.
Highly recommend the omelets. I would say that they are good to share between two people, the egg plates come with a croissant or baguette, can't go wrong with either.
The freshly squeezed orange juice is a good way to start the morning. Good environment, cute inside and outside seating!

This has been our the most favorite coffee shop in the Houston. They used to have a small size shop and seeing this business grow and keeping their quality still at best is because how dedicated the owners of this place. Everything in here is so delicious and tasty. I would definitely suggest the eclairs. Theirs is the best, also their green lentil soup with veggie sandwich option is amazing. Definitely recommend this place to make memories.

What a lovely spot in the Galleria area! Came here for breakfast and the place was bright and airy with a great atmosphere. The food was great as well and served with a choice of french baguette or croissant. I went with the baguette and it was fresh and crunchy. I think i will be coming here often

Here's my honest review.
I Googled 'the best croissants " in Houston, and French Riviera came up. I will have to say that every year I go to France, so I know a thing or two about a good croissant and baguettes.
I ordered to eat in, two croissants and two cappuccino. Jam and butter were not offered with the croissants and had to ask for it.
My thoughts:
5* for the staff's attentiveness and friendliness.
5* for such a cute storefront.
3,5* Sadly, I was a bit disappointed with the croissants as I found them heavy and not crispy enough. The inside is too dense and chewy.
A great croissant should be light, feather-like and with a crisp, flaky crust
4* for the baguette. It's almost perfect but found the inside a little too dense (not enough holes when cut open).
4* I also ordered a Salad niçoise. It was fine, but not satisfying as one in France.
Anna I.G.
They're butter croissants are THE BEST I have tried in Houston.
The lattes are also good. I really appreciate that I asked for no foam and they actually served me one with no foam. As easy as you would think it is, doesn't happen often.
The macaroons are worth trying. They are well made, texture is good. The cappuccino tastes a lot like coffee, the pistachio is a bit off. It is harder to appreciate the pistachio flavor in it.

This is mi favorite place to have breakfast. Never made a review before but I have been coming to La French Riviera since I move to Houston 5 years ago. Today we hace a ham and cheese croissant, ham and cheese quiche and a eclair as dessert. Perfect as usual
Nini Nuvo
This quaint cafe will make you feel like you stepped into Paris. The breakfast, lattes, pastries were all delicious and unique and yet homey. I will definitely come back.
Gourmet Traveler
Nice place to have coffee and pastries. Latte was strong enough. Croissants was light, flaky, and delicately sweet. And Quiche and eclair are my favorite menu at here.

Been to French Riviera more than 10 times now, and the food is consistently good. Interior is clean and bright, breakfast and lunch items are tasty, and service is prompt and friendly.
My go-tos are the country breakfast and almond croissant. Omelets, baguette sandwiches, and coffee beverages are also very very good.
Na Ta
Awesome place for breakfast! The omelets are huge and tasty. Latte was so pretty I was hesitant to drink it. Have to go back for more pastries.
Butters
Came a few minuets before closing, so got everything to go. This was a fantastic iced vanilla latte. The quiche was amazing and so was the tarts. Will definitely be back.
Hande Berilgen
A perfect spot for breakfast.
Very chic, elegant, quick and practical.
I love there coffee. It’s Sefafredo Zanetti.
It is heavier then regular places but I personally sometimes need this level of coffee.
I am always addicted to their chicken and tuna salad. With the croissant option.
Has a great amount of dessert options.
Outdoor and indoor seating available.
No pets are allowed. Do not even try they will not. They have limited seating outside.
Has a lot of seating indoor.

Delicious food and what a cozy cafe! I enjoyed the BLT on a croissant and bought some sweet baked goods. I would love to eat here again and try more things on the menu.

This is my favorite breakfast restaurant of all. The owners are so nice, the staff is also so nice. Food is fantastic. The almond croissants are their most famous item, so they go fast. I recommend their pastries like cream horn, eclaires and cream puffs. My husband gets scrambled eggs, the portions are very large that two people can eat. Their sub sandwiches are good too. Their coffee is good, I have had their regular coffees, americano, capuccinos and iced lattes. They are all good. Their bathrooms are clean. I have not tried their lunch menu except for their pasta which I didn’t like. Back to their breakfast menu, it also has great prices compared to the other breakfast restaurants. Everyone I bring here loves it, it is a hidden gem for breakfast or french pastries. I only wish they didn’t close at 2pm on weekdays as I always look for pastries late afternoon. Also, they are closed for 3 weeks every year in July and this is the time when I miss them the most as I always have guests in July..

Scrumptious French Bakery in Houston!
Great for breakfast or brunch. Good size menu. Their croissants are incredible, flaky, and buttery the perfect combination. All of the pastries are marvelous. I love their PANNA COTTA it's divine.
I highly recommend French Riviera Café.
E BRO
I like every thing about this place, except one thing. To enter and to exit the restaurant you have to walk through the outside patio where people smoke. So you start and your meal by walking through cigarette smoke. That is really disgusting, they used to use an alternate entry hat kept you away from the smoke.
Scott
I have been going to French Riviera for over 12 years. I remember their old location that was so small you could barely get in the door. The food here NEVER disappoints. From their made-in-house pastries to their coffee and menu items you will not be disappointed. The consistency of their products is impeccable and their staff is helpful and friendly.
Come here for a quick meal in a great atmosphere.

Always the place to go for Crossaints and coffee. We have been going here for over 20 years and it gets better everytime. Family run business with French charm with a big Texas heart.
Dana
Delicious, fresh pastries. Cream puff and almond pistachio croissant were out of this world good.
Bianca Baldizon
I love this place ❤️ coffee is always on point, strong and bold and flavorful. So good. And the pastries are always so fresh. Quiche is my favorite.
Mike Mireles
The wife and I visited recently…her idea, she was looking for a good almond croissant. Apparently she found it! 😄 She had one of those and a chocolate croissant. Loved them both! I got the eclair and it was great! Vanilla pastry cream in every bite. Service was great and the staff was nice. Inside was cozy and green. It had a great vibe. We are defiantly coming back. Oh! And the French baguette I got to go…made some great sandwiches at home.
Rawrraguilar
Everything was delicious! The coffee and the pastries ! I wish they had more vegetarian options because all I could eat was the avocado toast and it was very simple. Everything else was great! The patio was big and we enjoyed their pastries and the ambiance. Will be back to try more stuff.
Aryan Hosseinzadeh
I like the lively vibe, doesn’t like the egg that much, that’s why it’s 4 star
K C
We had a salmon salad and a chicken salad sandwich. I could taste the smoked salmon but my dish was otherwise tasteless.
The chicken salad, in the chicken salad sandwich, had absolutely no flavor. We kept eating it and trying bite by bite, no flavor.
I will be back to try their sweets though!!
Eric Lei
The croissants they sell are huge and cheap, and the tarts are absolutely stunning😋😋 …
beechan84
It's such a wonderful find. I had the almond and dark chocolate croissant and the fruit tart. Both were amazing. We took a baguette home and it was so delicious!! ❤ Very nice staff and tables are wiped down after being used. There is also sanitizer available when you come in and masks are required to come in.
Nicholas Linzenmeyer
Delicious little cafe, the flat white was amazing, the iced latte was a little watery, the chicken salad sandwich was very good, pastries delicious. The service was fast as well. Definitely recommend this place.
LH Tam
French Riviera is always our most favorite breakfast/brunch place to go. Their pastry is the best, especially the apple pie. The salad is great.
Yasamin Naghavi
Always a great time with your friends and family!!! Their cappuccino is one of the greatest!
Coraline
This was my second time visiting this Cafe and I left it feeling the same way as the first time. It was just ok. Nothing special and not something I would go out of my way to revisit after having tried it twice now. They do have a decent selection of food and drink items. We tried the Quiche Lorraine and the tirimasu dome dessert. All item's look delicious and well presented behind the glass display. However, it was unfortunately disappointing. We both found the food to be rather bland and plain in taste. I have definitely made better myself. The positives are that there is ample seating both inside and outside. Parking seems to be easily accommodated also. Service was friendly enough. Such a shame about the food though. I come from a country that truly enjoys bakery style treats. This was disappointing.
Reginara Anholete
Beautiful French Cafe , well decorated, food is good but cappuccino is really special. They have an outside tables wich is amazing to be in spring time. I ordered a quiche Lorraine but after read the reviews I want to go back to try some croissant. Definitely recommend

On Saturday 1/8/2022 I had an to go order for Spinach Quiche, and as you can see on picture it was with Ham. I went to mention about this to place in 1/15/2022 and i was told it was 1 week ago, it was too late for me to mention this and they could not do anything. Everything normally is handled in person in this country such situations. During their operation hours i am at work and Saturday is only day i could go in and get correct quiche so i did not call and visit 1 week later and this was response i received. This was unsatisfactory for this location. Instead of making it up to me i was told i should have called. I am sad to see this happened. !!!!!
UPDATE** They corrected their mistake i am glad to see it. I like their food and i am happy to see this is solved. Thanks
Derek Gantt
Came to pick up some bakery items. Got pastries; tiramisu and small eclair (blurry photo), and bread; Texan Croissant (sausage inside) and raisin orange brioche. Everything was yummy as they looked though tiramisu (maybe cheese) was a bit saltier than I know. Service was fast and friendly. Since it's a cafe with breakfast items including good selection of pastries and breads, there are many choices. Want to come back.
Thanh Nguyen
Food was simple and nice. Ambience was deserving of five stars. Outside seating with umbrellas available. Inside, the tables seated two people each so we had to move chairs around to add more people.
Jenyfer Lopez
This place is tucked away in a shopping center, right after my chiropractor I stop here. There food is fresh and hot. My face is the spinach & swiss quiche with a doubled iced vanilla latte.
They also sell specialty cookies, linens and books.
Dina Beck
Their coffee is good, strong without being bitter. There are many tasty things to try, but my all time favorite is their rustic scramble with avocado, ham, and tomatoes served with a baguette. Come early to avoid the lines.
Benjamin Chung
Dunno why, prices feel a tad pricey, but the food is really good.
We ordered the Alfredo pasta and then our friends saw it and ordered it too.
Also ordered the cubano sandwich. Has jalapeños, so you've been warned!
Sam Patel
Best cafe in Houston. So "french" it reminds me of a Paris Cafe ... great food, great confectionery, awesome deserts ... you have to try it.
Irina Tk
This is a lovely place for breakfast with delicious pastries 🥐 service is great. I can’t give 5 stars because of the coffee 😂 it is really bad, but I will come back for sure without any expectations to get a good coffee. …
Dayana Harvey
Nice place, always check your food before you left the bakery, sometimes the give you the wrong order. Decent prices and food taste good.
Norma Ashmore
Delicious croissants. Others in my family liked the chocolate variety. We all LOVED the Quiche Lorraine!
Jocelyn Perez
Best Brunch Ever! Food is beautiful & filling. Staff is helpful & friendly. It's the closest to authentic French Cafe around. Love it!
Jemine Oakes
Genuinely the best croissants ever! I heard they use the best butter to make them. I usually get the vegetarian omelette and potatoes instead of spinach. Never disappoints. I also love the spicy chicken avocado sandwich. Meanwhile, my husband eats all the sweets. All. Of. Them!
Aiyana Nixon
Delicious pastries and real deal croissants. The pastry selection is beautifully presented to both the eyes and the mouth. Great espresso drinks too. If you are a connoisseur of baked goods, visit the French Riviera!
Lan Truong
Delicious cafe with an atmosphere reminiscent of actual France. Highly recommend their crossiants and other baked goods
Pete Wood
This is a singular bakery, one without peer, unequaled, in a class by themselves above all others in Houston. Simply the best bakery in Houston.
V Parsadie
Food was absolutely delicious. Had the ham and cheese croissant, almond cream croissant, biscotti and hot chocolate. Eveything was tasty. This place is a treat.
Jeff Suderman
Had a two-hour café meeting here. Excellent French pastries and food. Great euro-style coffee and pleasant French countryside ambiance!
Beejal Shah
Excellent food and service! Beautiful inside and outside. Coffee and pastries and sandwiches were all well-presented and delicious. Pistachio eclair is highly recommended.
Fumi Balogun
I really enjoyed my coffee date here! Our fruit tart was yummy as well as my vanilla latte! Everyone was friendly. The place is spacious and we enjoyed the beautiful weather by eating on patio. Will definitely return :)
Mike T
There's nothing to complain about the eggs they just taste good. The croissant is the best part of it
Kenn Soendergaard (RealLifeDad)
Plesently Surprised to find such a cafe in this area. Service was great and honestly the best croissant I've had in Houston ever! And I'm not easy to please when it comes to croissants. A must visit!
Saad Khan
Really cool spot, food was great and the coffee was good too. Ordered an Americano and a 3 egg scramble. Both were good.
Shachar Mazor
Was a food coffee. And great hot pasteries , didn't really liked the cold ones. But is a matter of taste.
Danik MK
Really good Swiss Cheese Croissant and Latte! And really nice people who works there!
V M
Caramel latte and almond croissant. The Best!
magda “Mags” swisher
Clean. Not much warmth from clerks behind the counters. Very friendly and courteous server, Lina (? sp, maybe Lena?) Food, good. Dessert, scrumptious. Very nice for having a leisurely lunch, which I did with my very good friend.
Vivian Cheng
$6 for a plate of veggies, should be more like $5. Asked for an americano to go, but they gave me the mug instead.
Hanh Thien Tran
Many types of tarts, cakes and croissants are high-quality made and really tasty!
Sarah
I love this place! For any meal time this makes a delicious option. They are always consistent and high quality. Their coffee is amazing and they have many flavors to choose from. Their desserts, sandwiches, and salads are sooo good! A little pricey, but definitely worth it.
Alexey Grand
Very nice French cozy place! All taste perfect! Thanks guys !🥐🙏 …

Louis and John were great! Great stop for mid morning pastry and coffee😇Bon Appetite☕️🥐 …
Aaron Rouse
Always a nice spot to stop in at.
rob g
It's alright. The coffee is only good when Louis, Jenny, or Robert make it
Matt Asendio
Prices are a little high but it is the galleria. The food came out fresh and hot and the croissant was freshly baked!! I'd come back!👍 …
Ian Hill
Love the French Riviera, best croissants I've had in Houston. Coffee is decent.
Rene Aguilar
My favorite place for Saturdays! The coffee is awesome, Omelettes and sandwiches delicious!
Karen
Best coffee here. Bakery awesome. We have breakfast every Saturday here. Sometimes pastries and sometimes Farmers breakfast. May even stop by for lunch for a 2nd visit
Cesar Espinosa
Fave breakfast spot! Have a lot if great memories here
Kristin Citan
This is a really cute place. Offers more than coffee, breakfast and lunch. Our omelet wasn't very that great and the latte was awfully small for the price.
Jani S.
This is truly a treat if you enjoy delicious, elegant pastries. I came here a few times when I was pregnant 5 years ago & was very pleased with the food! I will be back soon to get some coffee & pastries. I recommend this place for a nice brunch date.
Juank Ruiz Lopez
They have a good variety of sweet bread and bread in general.
Evelyn Thomas
Lady in charge was nice, guy appearing to be her husband wasnt very accommodating (to us) Sandwich was great. Still did not get what I wanted, which was to experience fresh French pastries freshly prepared in-house, if they were they didn't taste like it or maybe I ordered the wrong item. Almost $100.00 dollars later I'm just like this is why I don't try new expensive things, expectations are not met.
Ira Key
Excellent experience. I was here 7 years ago. But almost forget how good it is.i will be back soon.
Chi Nguyen
Nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy coffee with nice bakery. The owner so nice and great service too.
Natalia Golardi
Lovely relaxing atmosphere, phenomenal croissants an desserts
Javier Mestre
This is a great place for a french style breakfast. High quality ingredients, always consistent on whatever you order. Ordered a 3 eggs omelette with 4 add on ingredients and it is outstanding. Tried the Raisins & Orange Brioche from their selection of pastries and it is served warmed. Great service also with just perfect atmosphere.
Kathryn Hatfield
First visit today and quite impressed. Great breakfast choices and a beautiful pastry selection. Really lovely space with many seating choices. Friendly service and great outdoor area with umbrellas and olive trees in pots. You're given a choice of bread or a croissant with breakfast - ALWAYS get the croissant. The bread is billed as "baguette" but it's not, it's a bolillo, and isn't served with butter or jam or anything to put on it. Dry bread isn't that great. The rest of breakfast was excellent.
Major downside for me - single-use plastics even when dining in. My cold brew came in a single-use plastic cup with a lid and a straw, even though I didn't need any of those things and could have used a mug or glass. I wasn't given the option. Then, even worse, the cream came in those tiny single-use plastic tubs. I think I needed 5 for a large coffee. So much waste! I hope they re-think that practice because otherwise this place is great.
Yang Chen
Great coffee and croissants

I was very impressed with their desserts in the freshness of their food. I would say this is my favorite dessert place in Houston right now. I went there for my birthday and I got the Napoleon strawberry cake it was absolutely to die for!!! I love the decor of the place it's very French style and it just kind of makes you feel like you're in France... This is just a great place to hang out in general and I definitely recommend trying their dessert.
Pallavi Rai
Bad omelette and avocado toast,
Good croissant and decent coffee.
Summer B
Great & delicious for brunch or breakfasts! Croissant is crispy, buttery and melting in my mouth. Earl grey tea is also a pleasant!
Racquel Marsh
Was my first time, food and pastries were amazing, however they brought me the wrong dessert, one that cost less than what I paid. Did not attempt resolution as I assumed I’d read the wrong label in the window, realized what happened after I’d already eaten it all. The workers were fast and efficient but not particularly polite or welcoming.
shyda Kadar
I absolutely love this place , from the food to the people are amazing !@
pastries are out of this world , sandwiches made fresh for you !!!
Salvador Bueno
My FAVORITE, family owned and operated breakfast spot in town. They offer wonderful lunch as well. Mr. Robert and his family take pride in the food they serve.
I loved the breakfast sandwhich on a croissant, and the ORANGE JUICE IS HAND MADE (not like any other orange juice you will taste in town). Will always come back here
Marianne Hutchkins
This place seems to be always full. It’s a coffee shop with such good energy, everybody is relaxed, smiling and happy. Great attitude.
I only had a latte and a brioche ( I had breakfast earlier at home). It was super yummy.
I can’t wait to go again, empty stomach, to try more delicious things!
Fantastic place.
Duane Dixon
I love the atmosphere, the coffee, the food, it's all great. Great for conversation, people watching, general hanging out. Usually it's crowded and worth the wait. Typically it's slightly a challenge to find a parking space on weekends, especially brunch hours. The wait is not too long to order food, the staff is always helpful and considerate, and the food comes out quickly enough for a restaurant the is rather busy.
Every time I've been there either with the family or with work colleagues the food has been great at all times of the day. They're usually closed for a good part of July, off on family vacation. The espresso, lattes, mochas, cafe americanos, regular coffee, all taste great. They use illy coffee. I prefer decaf and it tastes great and my wife loves the regular coffee as well.
jasmine Hall
Amazing place to eat! I've been going here since they were a tiny bakery one block down from where they are now. I highly reccomend the BLT sandwich with French bread. So good! And the orange juice was freshly squeezed and so delicious. Croissants here are baked fresh and taste so good. They have one of the best croissants in town. Also the opera caje was so amazing! I'm a pastry chef and that cake was hands down delicious.
Sandra Pham
I've driven past this bakery so many times but never stopped in. When I finally got the chance I was ecstatic. When you enter you are welcomed by a bright and pastry-filled air. You can tell everything is baked freshly one-house. I opted for the grilled chicken salad and of course a an almond chocolate croissant! The croissant was perfection. I can't wait to come back and try our the rest of the pastries highly recommend for brunch/ lunch!
Bettina L. Lucas
Yummy place for lunch!!!! Always great service, the atmosphere is eye catching but not overwhelming, and it's not so noisy that you can't enjoy a conversation.
I had soup and a sandwich and I love that they put the tomato in between the meat, not next to the bread, so it wasn't soggy!! Great attention to small details.
Cesar Muniz
Over 4 years ago a co-worker highly recommend this place and now I wish I tried it the day it opened as this place is comfortable, classy, the people are kind & cultured, and of course the food is delicious! The food is tasty, rich, warm, and definitely not American, so no excess sugar or shortcuts taken in the cooking process.
namratha reddy
The place is really welcoming, perfect place for brunch,in house bakery is really perfect to indulge!!!
Ann La
Causal and simple brunch place. Many baked goods and a good size menu for breakfast or lunch. Food came out really fast. Everything was hot and delicious. They have a cute bear art latte but that day, my bear came out lopsided. Other than that, friendly service. Good size parking lot. It can get crowded sometimes during their peak time.
Julia W
Beautiful, well executed pastries and patisserie and food. I was exceptionally delighted. The croissants are delicate and light even with fillings. The baguette is like air wrapped in a delicate, crisp shell. The location is beautiful and fairly spacious. Counter service for both the bakery and dine in orders. Don't forget to buy a loaf for home!
Rida Bouqdir
I Have been coming here for the last 10 years. The place, staff and service keep getting better and better. The food and pastries are top notch. The place is always spotless.
If you are in the mood of having a very good taste of the French cuisine (bakery), this place is amazing.
aalexx_ 818
Very very good restaurant clean and good people
Lizbeth Garcia
Amazing little cafe, love their desserts and their chicken Alfredo pasta was delicious. Meals are given in large portions I always leave with a doggy bag. The coffe here will definitely wake you right up, plus the cute designs are a nice touch.
Erandeni Torres
I have been here a handful of times and the food is always good. I usually like to get an omelet and coffee. Some items are overpriced though. The last time I went out of my way to come here instead of supporting Starbucks. I got a double espresso and a macaroon. I was in a hurry so I got them to go and paid around 7 dollars. Sorry but if I'm going to pay four dollars for a double espresso it better be organic. I would still recommend. Just treat yourself if you really want that three dollar macaroon...
Rob Cross
I have visited this place several times. Not even once have I been disappointed. The food is the highest quality you can find. I have been in France many times and I can tell you with confidence that they do know how to represent a french bakery. Every time I bring someone new to this place they leave in love with their variety of products and flavors! I cannot speak about their other products like salads and soups because I haven't tried them yet...I can't get past their pastries! THE BEST! Oh, and they also have excellent costumer service!
Ruth Arnoni
This is a wonderful place to go for breakfast, lunch, snack or coffee. The food is always fresh, and tasty. The coffee and pastries? Fantastic! It's such a nice place to go when you want some time away but you're close to everything. The staff and owners are so friendly. I've been going for years but thought it was time to let everyone else in on the fun.
Rachael Sass
This was a very cute place! Modeled after French bistros, this has the iconic chairs and tables you'd expect to see. I ordered an omelet that was very tasty as well as an Americano, which was also very good. Service was good and people were friendly. Also, the baker makes these amazing, handmade alligator sour dough loaves!!
Brad Schaider
The food is GREAT, very authentic. A very different experience if you are just used to La Madeleine. The coffee is alright, better than a lot of places for sure. My biggest complaint is the lack of information available from the owners. The first time I tried to visit a couple years back, I show up to a deserted restaurant with a hand written note on the door "Closed for summer vacation." Would have been nice to know before I made the trip. Another, this past weekend on each of the entry doors there are 2 signs. One is a permanent hours of operation, on the other door is a hand written "new hours" with conflicting information. Why not, say, put the new hours OVER the old hours?
Its not hard to help your customers out. In fact via Google Reviews, Yelp and an "unofficial" Facebook page you can find out quite a bit. But why not enter the modern age and tell your potential visitors what's up.

I’ve eaten brunch here several times and highly recommend it! The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is consistently excellent. I’m very happy to have such a great cafe in my area.
Allison Aquino
This is one of those places where you can feel the love in the food. All the the baked pastries and desserts are made artfully and I might argue the macarons are the best in Houston, flavor, look, and texture. The atmosphere is lively and comfortable with attentive staff and beautiful decor. This place is a treasure.

Tuna croissant is something else! 100% recommended
Isabel Abarca
The employees were unbelievably sweet and well mannered the customers are just atrocious just so saditty so disrespectful and it's usually the elderly people and people have staring problems just because I'm of a biracial couple, suffice to say I will not be going here ever again despite the nice employees
Ana Briceno
Great food! Awesome waiters, they are very helpful, and one even went out of her way to get us something we wanted. Fast service too. Over all a great place!
Nisha D'Souza
Croissants are to die for!! Ambience is good. Good service. I had a chai latte. Felt the cinnamon powder was a bit too much. Their other foods like quiches, pastries are very good as well.
Peter Krippner
They moved and don't have a new sign at the new location. Luckily it was within eyesight. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the croissants were very good. Apple tart and eclair were excellent pastries. Coffee was at a high quality. Great start to the day. I love their new location with plenty of seating.
Carissa Hudson
OMG they have the best croissants i have ever tasted. I got the blue berry and cream cheese. Its flaky but soft. I could eat these all day. Found me a new spot for breakfast pastries.
ladybug80
This place is amazing. I usually have the cinnamon roll. The omelets look delicious but I don’t like eggs. Their coffee is amazing.
Houston Hacienda
Specialty & self serve coffee is good. They should add milk to their coffee bar, as an alternate to cream. It was packed with the brunch crowd. Sevice was fast & all the food looked fresh. Will come back for breakfast.
Marisol Vecchini
Definitely my favorite place for breakfast and lunch! Ambience, food and customer service is excellent 👌 …
MARCO MEJIA
This was my first time going and I was thoroughly impressed with their menu. I was impressed with their selection of pastries and food. I can honestly say these were the best croissants I have ever had.

I go here to satisfy my fresh, flaky almond cream croissant craving. I used to go to Whole Foods for my fix, but French Riviera is way better. I also like the almond chocolate croissant.
I'm so glad they moved to a bigger space because it's a much more pleasant dining experience when there aren't patrons huddling near your table waiting for you to finish eating, so they can snag it.
It's pretty loud, and I wish they had wifi, so I can spend mornings here, but I realize that would present a problem of people occupying tables for far too long!
Mike Nebgen
This place is consistently delicious, extremely clean including the bathrooms!, fairly priced. And I have personally witnessed them strictly enforcing Covid protocols as they have asked people to leave and escort them out if they refuse to wear a mask.
Jasmine Gadelmola
Their pastries are amazing!!
Morela Rodrigez
The food is good compared to other places I have been near by. The stuff were friendly and gave me my food fast. Prices are a bit high but it is worth it.
Dianna
Food:
- criossant - very soft and buttery
- 2 eggs over easy and 3 pieces of ham - good
- cappuccino - very good, and had a cute latte art bear :)
Ambiance:
- You order at cashier, they give you a number, you find a table and they bring the food out to you as it's ready.
- A pretty large cafe with a lot of windows and some plants inside.
- There is also outdoor seating on the patio
Yusuf Mutlu Atici
Good food delicious European treats. Heads up they close early afternoons, double check the time listing.
Meri Ferguson
The food is very fresh and delicious, and it came out fast even though they were busy.
Alicia Bryant
Came for a brunchy vibe and yeeeees food was good, atmosphere was very inviting. The pastries and everything were as the reviews stated FRESH! Maaaaaaaan I know this is basic but the marinara was the best I've ever had. New regulars!
Raf Rod
Excellent food coffee and desserts. One of the best breakfast restaurants in town. Fully recommended.
Carlos Santesteban
This place has the best service, the best setting and the best food and croissants. Also it is very affordable. My friend the other day referred to it as "meet you at the famous palace French Riviera.."
Julio Oviedo
French Riviera has now moved to a larger, much nicer place right next to its old location. The croissants are arguably the best in all of Houston, very nice and buttery. My personal favorites are the Ham & Cheese and Almond & Cream, I highly recommend them. Apart from the aforementioned croissants (as well as other varieties, pain au chocolat, etc) you can order a croissant sandwich (available in regular or large sizes), where you select the meat and fillings that go into it, also very delicious.
Aside from croissants, quiches and savory items, they also have a wide selection of pastries. I highly recommend their eclairs, my favorite from what I've tried thus far, the cream filling is amazing.
The downside to all of this, however, is the price. At around $3 per croissant/pastry, it's not exactly cheap, but the taste makes it worth the cost.
Juliana Chan
I found out about this place because of their cute latte art! When i went they already moved to new location which is much bigger and larger parking lot. Food was ok, coffee was better! Love little place that feel kinda country French 😆 …
Ernie Keessen
I went a little after noon and sadly their pastry supply was seriously depleted. I hope for better luck next time.
Wendyta Gonzalez
Good croissants and coffee. Anything special about this place, is kind of pricey for what they offer. Staff is really nice and friendly, they have such a nice patio, parking spaces and is self service.
Sami ELMURR
It is an excellent place to have fresh French pastries and food. Sitting outside under the umbrellas was very pleasant and comfortable. I recommend it.

Jesus Arriaga
This is a great place to eat breakfast or lunch. The cofee is great and the bakery is home made. The food ingredients are natural and the dessert shelf is amazing. Think of this place as a Madeleine but without the food chain standardization and homemade food
Virginia Richmond
Omg best best best pastry place I've eaten. The chocolate croissant was heavenly and so was the rest of everything they have there. Line goes quickly so don't be discouraged.
Scott C

Jean-Marc Buytaert
I've seen the French Riviera Bakery grow from their little corner store to their (relatively) new, much nicer, and bigger location just across the street from their previous location. Being French, I have fond memories of eating pastries from when I was a kid growing up in the southwest part of France. I've been to a lot of different French cafés and bakeries in Houston, but the French Riviera is that one that has the most authentic taste. Whenever I go there, whether I'm eating a "Pain au Chocolat" or a "Ham and Swiss Baguette Sandwich", I am brought back to those memories and feel like a kid again. Thank you, French Riviera for bringing making Houston my home away from home with your delicious and authentic French food. On top of that, the owners are always super friendly and will gladly speak French with me. I highly recommend this place to experience a bit of France culture while enjoying a nice lunch.
J. D.
Delicious doesn't even begin yo describe the yumminess I consumed. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was out of this world. I'm anxious to go bavk this weekend 🤘😋 …
