This bakery is fantastic. There are so many options. It's hard to just pick a few things. So I got a box and filled it up with whatever I thought was good. I was not disappointed. These baked goods were great. The taro cinnamon roll was fantastic. There are so many options you can't leave with just one thing.

My first time here at Kamehameha Bakery. The place was very clean. The prices are reasonable, and the variety/selection was amazing. The staff was so helpful in helping me pick out my pastries. This is a great bakery if you are in the town area.

2/21/2021 My husband saw a video where someone was talking about the Chantilly Rolls so off we went. There was a lot of parking in the lot. When we got to the bakery, there was no line. Due to covid, they only allow three parties inside at a time. He picked two Haupia Malasadas and two Chantilly Rolls which came out to $4 and change. What great prices! I didn't try anything because I was overwhelmed with the amount of pastries that they offered. Next time, I'll be sure to look at the menu before we go. The ladies were friendly and boxed the pastries quickly. On the bottom of the store menu, they have an allergen notice that says products may contain dairy, eggs, gluten, and nuts. As we were leaving, the line outside had grown to about 15 deep. When we got home, I tried the Haupia Malasada. I'm not a fan of Malasadas at all but this one was light, not oily and dense, and the filling was heavenly! I'll be sure to get this the next time we go!

Everybody in Hawaii was so kind and authentically loving. They all seemed to love sharing their culture with us. This place was one of the few places where I felt like I was completely unwanted. They were annoyed that we wanted to buy so many items. What a shame. The pastries were good, but the experience tarnished the taste.

Hands down earned that 5 star rating! I'd definitely say its one of the best bakeries I've been to. The poi donuts are to die for! The strawberry malasada was also one of my favorites! If you're here visiting and you need a sweet treat head on over it's so worth it!

This is a great local place to find poi malasadas as well as your run of the mill donuts. They have fantastic long johns as well. The apple fritter may be the best and biggest I have ever had!

The poi donut was delicious, probably the second best donut I’ve had - the first being Leonard’s custard malasada, but if this donut was served hot and filled with custard it would likely win. I would’ve liked to try the haupia filled poi donut but my stomach can’t handle coconut right now, I bet that’s really good. I ended up trying a couple other things, the long john which is a custard filled donut and it was fine but Leonard’s custard malasada knocks it out of the park by a mile. The glazed croissant was really tasty but way too sugary for my stomach. The butter roll was solid, it’s just like a dinner roll. The staff wasn’t really friendly but not rude either, they probably know that people will come there no matter what because the donuts are so good

Taro donuts? This is the place to get them. Opened way before the sun rises (2 am) the pastries are being made. So when I went at 6:30 a line was already forming. I ordered taro and strawberry donuts. Couldn’t resist the malasadas, too. All were very good. Next time I’ll try the hot cross buns.

Oh my goodness - deliciousness beyond WORDS!!! A must stop- come early. Staff was so helpful explaining selections. The selection was so amazing. Make sure to try the poi treats. Parking is challenging but worth the challenge. They do have two ten minute spots in front. Remember to take a number when you arrive.

I heard about this place from a friend. Are you tired of dense super cakey donuts then look no further. Delicious melt in your mouth, buttery goodness I drove 34 minutes from Kapolei to see what the hype was about and they lived up it every crumb the box was full before I took the photo the Taro root donut is by far the star of their show (not shown in photo because it’s in my stomach)

Our friends introduced us to this place on our last visit so we had to come back. We went about an hour before close so selection was a bit limited but they had the poi and strawberry donuts which is what we came for. We also tried a hopia malasada which was also good. At first I questioned the poi donut but more than flavor, it gives it a nice textural element. These are great to get for breakfast or snack.

OMG!!! Literally the best dount I've ever had. My advice to you is to skip the long line at Leonard's Bakery and come to the famous Kamehameha Bakery. In my opinion these are some of the best treats in Hawaii. I purchased the Poi Glazed Taro Donut-Malasadas. It was beyond delicious! After the first bite I found myself eating three. Trust me you have to try these at any bakery you come across before leaving Hawaii.

I just can't tell you how good Kamehameha Bakery is. Located at 1284 Kalani Street D 106, they are always friendly they're happy and always able to answer your questions. The donuts and baked goods are fantastic and are made daily with love and aloha. It's a very popular location for locals as well as Travelers. They offer additional packaging if the products will be leaving out of state and traveling elsewhere. Each time I come and visit Hawaii I always stop at Kamehameha Bakery

Good price. Poi-glazed donut is fan-freaking-tastic. No joke. They've got some butter/sugar coated roll that is great to split over coffee. At the very least stop in and try the poi-glazed donut for a change of pace from the typical glazed donut.

So this place came up in my search for the best malasadas on Oahu. I first went to Leonard's bakery and was sorely disappointed!!! Oh so much so! That's when I decided that I was going to come here. Got here around noon on Sunday And based on what I had read I was scared that they would be out of them. Thankfully they weren't. I had learnt my lesson to not buy too many before trying them so I just got 3. As soon as the lady handed them to me I tried one and it was heavenly! I ordered 4 more right then because I didn't want to have to stand in the line again! I brought them back home with me and am still enjoying them ( 2 days later )! Forget Leonard's and come here people! These are the best malasadas!

Poi glazed donuts anyone ? How about Haupia Malasadas ? This place has all that and more. The bread pudding for like $1.50 was phenomenal. The donuts heavenly. The custard filled long John was on point. I sampled several items and not one thing was over $2 or any less than good. It's no wonder that lines are out the door... Or could that be because they only let 3 parties in at once...? I will be back again and again.

Great and reasonably priced! The staff were very friendly and there were safety dividers at checkout. Everything that we ordered were good but the ones that stood out were the poi malasadas and cream cheese donuts. The highlights of this bakery are mainly the donuts with topped filling.

We fueled up with the poi donuts before our hike to Koko head. We loved the donuts and too bad we only bought so little because we didn't want to eat too much before our hike. Let me tell you a secret. They open early. Like 2 AM early. We came in the afternoon and there was almost nothing left...they sell out. So take a word if advice...come early...4 AM early....you will have the best selections then. They are KNOWN for their poi donut... When you place your order tell them Joe sent you... they're going to say Joe Who... that's me 😃

Had a difficult time understanding what we were getting so we just winged it and I’m glad we did. Their doughnuts and breads are so soft and delicious, I can understand why there was a line out the door. Happy accident as we were looking for a taro doughnut and google brought us here! Definitely glad we did. We got Hawaiian sweet bread with a coconut jelly like filling, two sweet bread doughnuts with icing, a cream topped (my husband’s favorite), and a jelly topped (my favorite). Absolutely divine and we had a hard time putting them down!

Glazed poi donuts go fast, so go early! The apple fritters are also bomb. However much you plan to order, make sure to get an extra half dozen. The glazed croissant donuts and poi haupia bread were also delicious. Friendly service, but there's a small fee for credit cards. Use cash!

This is an old school bakery where you can find just about everything at reasonable prices. Also carreis a great assortment of different kinds of malasadas. I prefer these over "L's" in the pink box. You will find that the items here are much more reasonably priced. Tourists don't know about this place...yet.

Great little hole in the wall that a friend (who is a local) told us about. The poi doughnuts are the best! You have to get their quick, because they do sell out. My suggestion, make some during the day, just in case. Either way, it is worth a visit just to get the poi doughnuts.

Great local bakery. I had their poi donut a few years ago and fell in love, but my last visit the donut was pretty dry and not nearly as purple.... but I also tried the strawberry version and that was delicious and moist! You can see the difference between the two in the photo. So not sure what happened to the poi batch... customer service left a little to be desired. Wish they had signs in front of all the different pastries so I wouldn’t have to annoy them by asking what they were!

This place is a truly amazing, real gift from a God! The Malasadas will take you to a heaven! I never thought I will find a perfect donat taste in the USA until I visit that bakery! It taste just like a real traditional Polish 🇵🇱 donat! I love this bakery and the prices are outstanding. Staff is very friendly, it's a real local Hawaiian bakery. Make sure you visit that place! They open early on the morning. My sister and I walked in to a warm welcome and greeting from the staff. There was one in particular whom stood out. She made us feel very welcomed and immediately took our large order for our church congregation. We had requested if she could cut the pastries into bite sized pieces and she had no problem doing it for us. I believe her name was to the likes of Jane or Jaime or Jay. She also explained the ingredients in certain items, also mentioning that the custard is made with vanilla pudding.(which I find yummy). It was such a success at church, everyone enjoyed the delicious pastries. It was my first time there and it won't be my last. Thanks to a friends recommendation, I look forward to being a loyal customer and will definitely recommend this establishment.

Everything we tried there was excellent and we are particular about our baked goods. We especially enjoyed the poi malsada with the coconut filling! We really wanted to try the poi donuts but they had sold out before we had gotten there so you might need to go really early to try them.

Simple and amazing. Malasada galore, from chocolate, custard, plain, sugar, jelly, and coconut cream... Jelly pastries and so much more. I can't eat here often but there staff is friendly and they open early. The line grows fast for a reason. Paying cash is the fastest way, get a dozen your family will be pleased, if you get one or two you will just end up coming back.

This is another local hotspot. They open super early and close early so be sure to come early for your poi malasadas. The donuts were good but I didn’t get the taro flavor, aside from the slight purple color, you wouldn’t know it was taro. Great donuts nonetheless and friendly staff.

I had seen reviews of this bakery and thought we should try it out. I'm glad we took the time to find it. It's definitely a bit off the beaten path and harder to find. But the cinnamon bun and donuts were so tasty. I didn't get a malasada because I didn't even want to compare them to Leonard's. And truth be told, they were sold out of their signature haupia one. The place opens at an insane hour, so things can sell out fast. If you have your eye on a particular goodie, try calling in an order. A few people were picking up so it can be done. Also, don't forget to grab a number right when you walk in. It's a busy place!

Poi doughnuts are so good that Krispy Kreme is starting to shake in their boots. Also the only poi my mainland friends will eat. I prefer these doughnuts because of the crisp outside and soft inside. Bakery lines can be a bit long but they go fast and the pastries are worth the wait. If your wanting malasadas either get there really early when they are hot or go to Leonard’s. Getting there early will also make it less likely they will sell out of the poi doughnuts before you arrive.

I've had Kamehameha Bakery on my bookmarks for a long time after researching for bakeries on Yelp. The reason - the poi doughnut. I love poi. I love doughnuts. So I had to have one. I actually had a poi doughnut from another bakery, and it was good. But the one at Kamehameha Bakery, imo, was superior because of its texture and glaze. It's fluffy and airy, and the glaze ties it all together. I feel the poi is there for color, but it does taste different than a regular doughnut that I can't describe. All I can tell you is you got to go there and try it for yourself. You won't regret it. We also got two other pastries, which were coconut based. One was basically pan de coco, and the other was a haupia malasada. Both excellent, and were very good for breakfast. I was really only there for the poi doughnut, but once I told my parents I would pay, they added more to try! It's a small bakery, and it's best to get it to go. Remember to take a number inside. They do take credit cards, but I believe there is a minimum. Best to bring cash anyway.

Really neat local bakery. Open early, but also busy early. Reasonable prices and lots of options. One downside is that they have a huge selection with nothing labeled. So there is lots of pointing and guessing between you and the servers. Somewhat of a language barrier there too. I would recommend having some idea of what you want, or bring ready to feel a little awkward as you point at pastries.

This place is legendary since its days on school street. New location is well organized and brightly lit. Make sure to get a ticket so they can call your number to serve you. Arrive early daily else you may not be able to get the local favorites of either the poi malasada, strawberry malasada, strawberry cream cheese danish, regular glazed donut and long johns. Prices are really affordable so you can get a lot for your money. They also sell canned/bottled milk, water, juices. Pre-order the day before if you have a large order, ordering for Friday's or during holidays. Ask them to foil line if you .ca not pick up first thing I the morning or need to gift so that the oil/sugar does not soak the box. Let them know if you plan to take this to the neighbor islands and they will pack accordingly. Open 7 days a week and they take cash and credit card. Plan your order by the number of donuts per box so they can get you the right size. My favorite is the moist banana bread, poi malasada, danishes and regular glazed.
