Reviews of Wealthy Street Bakery
Stopped by here a few times while walking. Service is good, everyone is friendly. Always busy when I go by so must be good. I have had coffee here and it’s always been good. Cinnamon rolls are a bit too hard for my liking but still good. Lots of choices, I’ve seen people getting food and it looks delicious. A pleasant place to stop.
Absolutely delish danishes and croissants. The pastry is very well laminated and has great flavor. Quick and friendly service too!
Cookies were a bit done in my opinion, but that is just my preference. I prefer cookies with more of a chew and less of a crunch, and unfortunately these cookies are pretty crunchy and a bit bland. They are gorgeous cookies just not the best tasting. Everything else I got was amazing though! I am just fussy about cookies.
Tried their mushroom/margarita pizza and it was awesome. The crust is to die for! Perfectly airy, chewy and crispy.
They have a half off during happy hour on pizza and a few other things. If I’m not wrong happy hour is 3-6 pm
Stopped for a coffee on the adjacent R coffee & checked out this store.
Very friendly staff, this was my first visit so they explained what a Scone is, ended up getting one & chocolate croissant. Both are amazing, lots of flavor. Will come back for the cinnamon role.
Amazingly yummy Townie roll and extraordinary Americano! Well worth the stop if you are in Grand Rapids, Michigan!
Excellent Tomatoe Bisque. Great pizza. 30% off between 4:00pm & 6:00pm Monday-Friday. The pizza is fantastic. Excellent Rosemary Sourdough bread. Scones are the best - flavirs vary every day. Townies are their secret weapon in the OMFG are they delicious category. Buy as many as you can afford. Go home. HEAT'EM & EAT'EM. Only available on Wednesday & Saturday. Don't be late!
I visit this place since 2004, always love to come here, the cranberry scone here is the best, the focaccia 🤤 and more. I just love it. …
Definitely one of my favorite places to grab a bite in GR. Their pastries and beverages are amazing, and the staff are always super friendly!
The Ham & Swiss sandwich is the bomb. Quality bread. Nice people. Hot tea. Jazz in the air. They got it all.
Amazing food, drinks, and customer service. We live around the corner and come here all the time to study and work during the day. Fairly busy on the weekends but we've never had a problem finding a table. They have tables outside as well when we feel like bringing our dog. The danishes are my favorite of their selection of pastries. Their sandwiches and pizzas are also top notch for lunch and dinner.
Always a great experience. Baked goods are very good. Lunch is also very good. The kitchen ware shop next door is great too! Why not feel Wealthy?
I love that they offer Gluten Free baked goods and pizza crust. I love that I can come after work and find free parking in back and get a pizza half off for the Happy Hour (love the portobello one).
I do feel the coffee is pretty pricey and the iced Americano I got was $3.25 for a small and overly bland. It had no bite and just tasted like water with a splash of coffee. The drop coffee was also pricey for just being coffee from an airpot.
The gluten free items I've gotten from there always seem semi-frozen. I understand packaging requirements but would be so nice to get a fresh baked GF treat sometime.
I'm just leaving an honest review, here. Overall I really do like this place and will continue to visit.
Wonderful local bakery. We come almost weekly for coffee and a pastry. Great family atmosphere or a good place to study. Cannot speak highly enough of their food selection.
Amazing food but even more amazing people. I picked up my order and when I got home and opened my car door, my chicken parm sandwich threw itself onto the ground. The box exploded open and everything was ruined. I was so upset but I thought, maybe, just maybe, the people of Wealthy Street Bakery would take pity on me if I told them what happened. So I called, and Jim was very kind and understanding and said they'd remake it, no problem. I was so relieved and grateful.
My husband loved the chicken parm (once I finally successfully acquired it), and my calzone was absolutely delicious. And of course all the pastries are 10/10. But knowing that they care about their customers and are willing to do something above and beyond when they're not really obligated to means they've got me for life.
Oh, and as a side note, I very much appreciate that the staff is still wearing masks 💜 thank you for all the care in what you do, Wealthy Street Bakery crew.
Love their cookies especially the island cookies. They always have my weekly order ready for me. Staff is friendly and always willing to help. Pizzas are really good.
I love this place and always have....however I have a difficult time paying $3.75 for a scone which is basically leftover junk and made into something.
Last weekend I went in and got 2 Townies, 2 Chocolate croissants and 2 Scones and my total $24.00.
So if you don't mind going broke when you go here I definitely recommend this place. If you are on a tight budget this is NOT the place for you.
Great bakery. My daughter loves their pizza.
Outstanding quality and value! This a gem and I will certainly be back. I got the Margherita Pizza and it was exquisite. The dough was obviously freshly made and there was a generous amount of fresh toppings. Google recommended them for lunch based on excellent ratings and they were certainly well earned. There's even adjacent parking so you don't have to park on the street.
I love ur Greek salad! Your cinnamon bun's and carrot cupcakes are The Best! You guy's are Better then crispy Kreme and Dunkin donuts combine! I give u guy's A Perfect 10!
This is definitely my favorite bakery here on the east side. I love their wide selection of pastries especially their townies and almond bear claws. I always enjoy getting a loaf of bread here, quick tip you can ask for them to slice it for you and free of charge. They also offer many different types of beverages, hot and cold, and have a wonderful lunch and dinner menu with sandwiches made from fresh baked bread and pizzas freshly baked in their wood burning oven.
I had pizza for the first time from Wealthy Street today - I opted to just go for a basic mushroom and pepperoni but next time I'm for sure going to try the bbq chicken! I wanted to ensure I liked the crust and sauce -- which were both amazing. I asked for light cheese and they made it just how I like it.
Their cinnamon rolls are the best!! They have some gluten free options but very few both dairy and gluten free options as a heads up. They have a happy hour pizza special that looks awesome!
Surprisingly large food menu. The scone I had was great and very fresh. I look forward to trying more food items. Nice little patio and they serve beer/wine, which is a bonus for happy hour!
Wealthy Street Bakery has delicious sandwiches and wood-fired pizzas. The pastries and cookies are delicious, and there's a good gluten-free selection. It's a nice location in Heritage Hill, and makes a nice stop after visiting the nearby Meyer May House. The only thing we don't like is that the wood-fired pizzas aren't available all day, but those wanting a pizza for lunch can head to its sister location, Hall Street Bakery, where pizzas are served anytime. Staff is accommodating and friendly. We always have a positive experience here.
Delicious sour dough bread! Also enjoy the sweet treats!
Their gluten free chicken salad is amazing, but the bread is kind of small so whenever you order a whole sandwich, they have ALWAYS given me 2 (makes since, they charge extra). Today I got one single, despite ordering a whole and paying extra. When I called, they were adamant it has always just come as one. Cute. Won’t be ordering here again, way overpriced for that tiny of an entree.
Five ladies met there for a book club. We had a bite. Before I left I ordered a pizza for home. First time ever. It was really really good.
Their bread and pastries are always fresh. Great coffee too.
Best breakfast croissant sandwich. I got the ham and cheese breaki-san. Friendly, accommodating service. Cute place
I found this place on GrubHub , Wow, happy I did. I got the BTL , you really can’t mess that up and the Bread n Spread, now that has amazing taste. The bread on both was good. The portion on the dips were light but ok. The BLT portion was great. I’ll order again from y’all.
Their croissants, blueberry scones, and raspberry white chocolate cookies are so delicious! Friendly staff and they keep it very clean!
Stopped in for lunch today. My first impression is that this is a popular lunch place. Atmosphere is very nice, taking an old classy place and making it a cozy specialty restaurant/ bakery. I came to check out the Gluten Free and Vegan menu options. They do have a wide variety of GF sandwich options and a number of vegan desserts/ pastries. I chose the Wealthy Street Club Sandwich $14 and was very good.
Best Cookies EVER! Island Cookie is BEST! I cannot go to GR without stopping for them! Cranberry Scones are also yummy! They have a chewy chocolate coconut cookie this month I think and that is also amazing! Staff is very friendly and kind. Ray is kind!! Pizza is so good and reasonable! Tomato Basil soup is amazing as well.
Always busy, yet always helpful staff. I drive for Doordash and go there several times a week.
Love the cinnamon rolls here! The croissants are over baked every once in awhile but all in all a great bakery.
5 stars. Great service and comforting atmosphere. The raspberry coconut cookie bar was sublime.
Really really great baked goods! The employees are nice as all get out! I ordered a cinnamon roll and a pizza. Both were great, the crust in the pizza is to die for! I will definitely be returning for more.
Great pizza and chai but very poor customer service - several staff members were unfriendly to guests. We were also over charged and once we noticed it while waiting for our pizza they gave us the difference. Inside could definitely use a face lift but a good place for students to study, eating big pastries, coffee dates with friends and a quick bite with children.
I had the sandwich and salad combo. Based on food alone, this was probably a 4 star, the half sandwich was a good size and tasty, but the salad was just lettuce and croutons with an ok dressing. However, it was really overpriced. Same as a full sit down meal when we had a couple of coffees. I like supporting local establishments, but this was too much.
I was bummed after I heard so many great things about this place but then when i went I was sad to find they did not offer much for gluten free options. I understand they are a bakery and its difficult. However it would be nice to be able to enjoy a simple GF pastry with my partner while they enjoy theirs
Came here late one night with a pretty big group. Ordered coffee and sandwiches, and both were amazing! The sandwiches were huge, and the bread was brilliant. We were served quickly, and the wait time for food was very reasonable. Will definitely be coming back!
I do not live near Grand Rapids but needed a bakery to delivery pastries and fresh fruit at a function this past week. I searched and found the Wealthy Street Bakery website and decided to give them a try. The fresh pastries and fruit were delivered promptly (exactly as requested) and they were wonderful. I have since visited the bakery for lunch with my husband, and our sandwiches and salads were excellent. Service was also very good. I would highly recommend the Wealthy Street Bakery for fantastic pastries, sandwiches, and salads. Next trip I look forward to going back and checking out their pizza!
To me the people make the place, I found myself unfortunately stranded when my vehicle died and of course my cell was also dead these guys hooked it up, super friendly and helpful let me use a phone and charge mine, let me hang out while waiting for someone to to rescue me. And out of the blue just brought out an amazing sandwich and some much appreciated water, all on the house, truly class acts in a crazy world thaks guys you are awesome
A great place to stop for a sandwich after touring the Meyer-May House.
Is the owner British? Because I swear to God it’s like being back home in Wales! Hubby and I come here all the time for a taste of home. No where in West Michigan has better British/European baked goods! Other reviewers clearly have never left their American home and experienced the deliciousness of REAL baked goodies!
My husband and I just happened to stop here for dinner last night and boy, were we impressed! My husband ordered the club sandwich and I got the turkey with provolone. The sandwiches were very decently sized, and came with home-made chips and a dill pickle slice. My husband, who is kind of difficult to please, was actually raving about his sandwich. The bread was fresh and delicious; crispy crust and soft middle. The chips were addictive...crunchy and salty and everything you'd want from a potato chip. :) We also ordered a oatmeal raisin cookie which my husband hailed as 'the best cookie he's ever eaten'...I'm still shaking my head over that since I make really excellent cookies. ;)
It's definitely a casual cafe...but such a cute little place to go if you're in the mood for a salad, soup, or salad. We live all the way across town, but we'll definitely go there again.
Gluten free baked goods, great pizza on gluten free crust that was kind of biscuit-like, soft and tender. Super staff handled our family of 6. I especially liked the pizza sauce and the hand-cut pepperoni and roasted red peppers.
One of my favorite places in GR. The baked good are excellent, the staff is always friendly and helpful. They did a wonderful job of renovation of the historic building they occupy and they support local artist with changing art displays. This was one of the first and most instrumental businesses in bringing life back to Wealthy Street. And now Wealthy Street is one of the "coolest places to be" in GR. Kudos to Wealthy Street Bakery!
This is a good bakery. While they do coffee here, all the coffee I've had here has been sub par. There is good free open internet and comfortable seats, easy parking next to the bakery. The best part is the baked goods, they are usually really good.
Really awesome place for some good coffee and great bakery items. Their ham and cheese croissant was fantastic and a frozen chai latte was the perfect addition to our Thursday morning.
Beautiful baked goods, hot and cold drinks, great service
Best bakery in town. Big fan of the scones and croissants. Bread is amazing. Gets busy on Saturdays, expect a crowd and standing room only. Coffee is above average, as well. Costs more than Dunkin' Donuts, but you get what you pay for.
The Wealthy Street Bakery is an amazing bakery and has a ton of great pastries. I love their Cinnamon Rolls, they are fantastic! The prices are very reasonable, and the people there are very friendly and nice. Great places for people of all ages!
Tried the calzones and pizza here, they were fantastic. Not something you'd expect a bakery to offer, but they were well made and baked perfectly.
Ordered a latte for the first time there and it was really good. Cranberry almond scones are great and my friend got a breakfast sandwich. She said it was wonderful.
Can’t speak on the actual menu items, but the pastries here are delicious (even if the price is a little high)
Breakfast sandwiches are to die for! The egg patty is so thick with optional meat and cheddar. All the best baked goods from bread to pastries and even coffee and local beer! Oh yeah, and tasty bakery goods, did I mention they're a bakery?
The quality of their products has gone up and down a bit over the last few years. Overall I would say they are trying to save money on the cost of the products they produce, so some of their food is smaller and of lower quality than it was. In general however, I like what the business and buy quite a few things there. My biggest problem with going to that bakery is that the people who wait on you - - while always being polite and welcoming--I do you do not listen carefully. Many, many times I have received the wrong order and didn't discover it until I got home. This is not just a few times. It happens as very, very often. I would actually give them 3.5" stars.
Stopped in for coffee and a morning snack. Friendly and welcoming staff backed up by good coffee, nice range of baked goods, and a pleasant gluten free (GF) selection. GF offerings are always a roll of the dice, but the Wealthy Street Bakery did not disappoint. The Lemon Poppyseed muffin was "ok" but the GF cinnamon roll was second to none. I've been GF for 6+ years and a cinnamon roll fan. GF cinnamon rolls are not easy to come by, and are generally a disappointment. Not so at The Wealthy Street Bakery. Best I've had, and better than some non-gf versions. Magic.
Love these guys. They are so kind, great atmosphere, and decent variety of sandwiches, pizzas, and pastries. Plus, you can’t go wrong serving cupcakes and wine. :-)
Visited in 05-2017 and yesterday, 04-20-2018, both times for a late lunch. The reasons I won't give this 5-stars (it was a close thing), the men's room had bits of paper towels on the floor and we were late getting a coffee with out order. Both of these are correctable issues. Other than that, this place outdoes Panera, and that's saying something. Had the ham and swiss combo, the sandwich was a meal in itself, and I must comment about the tomato slices on the sandwich as the devil is in the details, and they take good care of those details, i.e. the tomatoes were beautiful, not those partially unripe tomatoes you may run into in some of those chains. I noted that they had sea salt in the salt shakers, a detail that I like. I had a cup of the white chicken chili, and it was perhaps the best example of that style of chili that I've ever had (still a big red fan). I'll also give a thumbs up for their WiFi, and that's not something that I say everyday. I should note that there is an off-street parking area accessible from the left-side (when facing the front of the restaurant) that actually winds around the back of the restaurant in an L-shape with quite a few parking spaces (as on-street parking can be difficult in GR in general). It was a welcome respite for both visits.
Went downtown to see some of the pre-Art Prize exhibits, but didn't find too many, so we stopped by WSB for coffee and a snack. Great little coffee shop in the heart of GR we've frequented numerous times. Good coffee, scones, etc. and a fun place to sit outside on a summer evening with your special someone.
Great Bakery, Stopped in late at night. Had a cup of coffee and a cheese danish and it was awesome. Great open and casual atmosphere and a bread lovers delight. Highly recommend.
Best cinnamon rolls in town, simply amazing!
They also have a wide selection of other pastrys and breads. You cannot go wrong with any option you choose.
Great baked goods AND very conscientious of food allergens and cross-contamination concerns. I asked because my son has a severe peanut allergy and was assured great care is taken in those regards. Great neighborhood atmosphere!
Dropped my meal on the way out like a dummy and they instantly offered to make me a new one. Super classy. Delicious too!
Wanted a Reuben Sandwich but discovered only available after 2pm. Ordered a chicken salad sandwich and when they brought out my friends sandwich told me they did not have chicken salad. Finally got my 3rd choice after everyone was almost done wirh their sandwich
I absolutely love the vegan carrot cake cupcake. Even if you're mot vegan give it a try, bet you'd love it. Vegan sugar cookies are great and really big, but a little dry.
You can tell this restaurant really cares about the quality of product they put out. I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich and the white chicken chili soup really hit the spot! We'll be back and looking forward to it!
The best pastry and bread place I've ever had. I love the breakfast sandwiches too. One of my favorite places in GR!
Great local bakery. Tasty
Just had Happy Hour pizza n wine! So delicious !! We had 3 different pizzas. All were spectacular !! Great atmosphere!
Great naked goods with great variety. Staff is very helpful. Site is clean and pleasant. I would go there again.
Best bakery in town that offers a lot of gluten free options!! I love the atmosphere and the customer service is great.
The pastries were delicious as always, the margarita pizza was extremely good. I don't understand how all the reviews are saying the service was bad. Our service was exceptionally friendly and prompt and pleasant.
The scones are mouthwatering! You can totally taste the fresh ingredients in their pastries. I always come here to grab scones for my co-workers.
Usually serve good pastries. sandwiches, pizza, coffee. Nice atmosphere.
Great little neighborhood bakery! Come for the coffee and scones, you will not be disappointed. Lunch there is great too and even dinner- wine available!
Great friendly service! Best chicken salad I ever had. They put is on a bed of greens for me since I don't eat bread. Simple yet delishous.
Great food. Great environment. Love the GF cinnamon rolls! Slightly dissapppinted in the GF bread; very tastey sandwich but the bread literally crumbled to pieces as I ate.
They have so many different choices at this spot. You can even special order stuff and request they set aside certain breads so ya don’t miss out. Nice employees and decent hours to boot
Amazing Mediterranean olive bread (edit: not any more, they stopped making it), just wish they would make more of it. Service has always been good and I always look forward to going.
Baked goods are fresh and hot cocoa was sweet and hot. The room itself runs cold so bring ba warm coat
I can't get enough of this place! The food and drinks are great, and there are tons of smiling faces. I can't wait to try more of their food!
I got the special Valentine's latte drink lavender chai--so good!
I just had the best scone EVER!!! I believe it was cinnamon and white chocolate chips. It was wonderful. I definitely will have another one.
I bought Vegan Challah. I'm not a Vegan but that bread ia so delicious. Friendly staff, fast service, cozy place and easy to park.
Great atmosphere, tasty coffee, delicious breads and pastries. Great for a day out or desserts for a whole party.
I really love this place. The tomato basil bread that looks like a pizza is good. And I love their croissants
Pricing has gone up since the change of ownership, but their sandwiches are still amazing, and they have some pretty great danishes as well!
Best danishes I've ever had. The service is fast and great, all the food and beverages are amazing. Definitely one of the best places in Grand Rapids.
It is still my favorite bakery! Prices have increased a bit bu, from breads to townies, just delicious 😋 …
Quick service! Delicious pastries!! Even had GF options.
Nice offer of baking goods. It's relatively cheap (pastries are bigger than average) so the quality is also slightly above average. Coffee is good.
Got a latte, coffee, scone and cookie and it was all DELICIOUS! We will be back :)
Awesome baked goods, fantastic coffee, not bad prices. Love going here regularly. I definitely recommend Wealthy Street Bakery
Great service and very nice! Mocha was Good! Now I just gotta show up when they have that delicious bread pudding!!!! So Good!

Frozen mocha was excellent! The blueberry scones were out of this world fabulous!!!
Excellent coffee, and I bought a gluten free cookie for my insistent son-and he really liked it.
