This place is classic. We grabbed two bagels to go, the bagels were soft and tasty. Atmosphere is on point for NY style bagel place and it's very reasonably priced. Also, we did not find the owner rude whatsoever. I'd recommend!

Overall a great spot with a nice selection of bagels and cream cheese along with other sandwiches on bagels. I personally had the French Toast bagel with cream cheese and a Vanilla Latte. The bagel was amazing and I'm a fan of a big portion of cream cheese which is a thing here. The coffee was good but I couldn't drink it for 30 to 40 minutes after getting it since it was oversight incredibly hot. I would come here again though and recommend it.

These are seriously the best bagels I have had in Colorado! Authentic NY bagels! They are amazing and perfection. The owner puts her heart and into these and you can really tell! And that’s why she wants them perfect. I absolutely love her sassy crass attitude, it makes perfect bagels. If this was NYC she would fit right in.

This place has amazing bagels. They're got and fresh and you can buy them single or by the baker's dozen. I grab a bag to bring to the office all the time. It's usually busy, so plan accordingly. They also do coffee and make a pretty great latte.

Hands down best bagel in Denver! I love to get the everything bagel with the chive and onion cream cheese! We live in the neighborhood and frequent this shop. The owner can be too much for some people but she’s been great to us and spoils our dog with some leftover meat scraps here and there! What a treat!

This is the only bagel place I go to in the Denver Metro Area because they do such a great job. There’s nothing flimsy about the amount of toppings, smears, or the bagels themselves. The owner is always working along side their employees which means a lot as a former food service worker

By far the absolute best bagels I have ever had. Unfortunately, I have moved out of state and can no longer support the company. That is unless they decide they will start shipping bagles. If that were to happen, I would be ordering at least once a month.

Excellent coffee and bagels with all the classics you may want. Nice location. Reasonable outdoor seating areas. And It’s OPEN...!!! (as opposed to some other chain coffee shops that force you to use their app to pick up a cup of coffee)

The entire experience was great. The line moved quickly (Sunday 830am) and all the employees were very friendly. They each greeted all customers politely. Each employee serves a customer and then prepares their bagel. Then the same employee brings the customer their meal. I really liked that about the place. And I got the 5th Ave sandwich on a salt bagel and it is delicious and huge. Will be back next time I'm in CO.

Great bagel shop at reasonable prices! The staff working behind the counter is super friendly. The atmosphere is great with real New Yorkers sitting at the counter. The bagel sandwich is delicious and there are juices and coffees to accompany. The New York Bagel Cafe has a wide variety of bagels from the classic everything bagel to cinnamon raisin. I usually stop in on sunday mornings to pick up a bakers dozen and all the bagels are very fresh. It is tough to beat a warm sesame bagel that doesnt even need to be toasted. It is a unique style of bagel for sure, but if you can stop comparing to actual ny bagels for a minute, they are good in their own way!

Loved this little slice of heaven that's been there for almost 45 years! The menu is quite extensive, thought the coffee was delicious, the food was GREAT - super, super fresh bagels! This place reminds you a little bit of being just outside Yankee Stadium - great atmosphere, great food, and great prices! What more can you ask for??

This place used to be right around the corner from my home. 4 years ago I left Colorado and kinda forgot about it. Last week on vacation our hotel was down the street and I had to stop. I was pleased to see they were still open, busy, and making great bagels. A sausage, egg & cheese on the French toast bagel is just want the soul ordered. One of those places I miss a little more now.

Delicious and amazing but loosing money left and right. It’s 2021, we have a business that has survived (thank goodness) and yet there are no delivery (grub hub,door dash,Postmates,etc)options? Terrible pictures on their website that don’t do their food justice? I have literally been eating here since it’s first location back in the day (Salt bagel all day) and I’m struggling to understand why the one location shop has not moved forward with the times. I don’t get it and sadly I can’t order from here this morning.

9 years enjoying this little gem. I've read the other reviews and do understand. At times it's a stressful little joint. The orders are not perfect. BUT, the quality of the food is terrific. If I have to take a few onions off my delicious bagel sandwich when I requested no onions... Oh well, I can handle it. Great place. Delicious bagels and bagel sammies. Support local business and give this place a go you will not regret it!

4 stars because these bagels are delicious. The owner/manager is extremely rude and inconsiderate. There are many other reviews about her on here as well. It’s unfortunate because our family loves to eat these bagels. If you choose to eat here, my advice is to order online and pickup so you don’t have to deal with the owner being so rude and acting like she hates you being in her presence. I have waited to write this review, because I wanted to give multiple chances to see if it was just an off day, etc.; but it is the same every time. I respect the owners of restaurants because of trying times in our country, but please consider being nicer to your customers! It goes a long way! Lastly, please still eat here! Best bagels ever!!

Amazing family run bagel shop!! The owner is the type of person to give you the shirt off their back (she literally did just that when I mentioned a decoration of theirs I always admired, she insisted I take it home...an incredible and humbling experience!) The bagel sandwiches are delicious (add cream cheese if you like it extra cheesy...) And the coffee is really smooth. Thank you New York Bagel Cafe for being our neighborhood gem!

I've been coming here for 20 years. Got along great with the former owner Ernie. Every visit you could count on consistency in the friendly staff, bagels, and the same regulars each weekend. Things changed a few years ago when it was sold to a person who I can only describe as "hates the general public". With the new owner came obvious changes. The staff stopped smiling, the regulars were gone, and the bagel you received one day was quite different from the next. If you're just visiting the area, or an infrequent enough patron that you can shrug off rudeness, this is a fantastic place to stop for a bagel and coffee. However, any frequent patrons will eventually be distracted by the curt, unfriendly attitude the owner has towards both her teenage employees and guests. Come in 30 minutes before close, expect a reprimand. Return a bagel because it was made wrong, expect theatrics. Even the signs placed around the store for Covid exude extreme unhappiness. I've brought several guests here and their opinions have all been the same: "great bagels, but who was that unfriendly lady?" Look, these are tough times for small businesses, I get it. But my advice to the owner is to sell off the business to someone who actually wants to be there each day before you drive off enough regulars to permanently lower the valuation.

This place is a hidden gem! Unassuming on the outside, but super cute and well decorated and welcoming on the inside. I've always wanted to live close to a shop like this and now I do! So excited to walk down here in the mornings with my wife and dog and eat on the patio! Try the lox & spread and the sausage, egg, cheese bagel. Both are delicious!

Been going here my whole life! I’m 27 and my grandparents who lived in the neighborhood would always take us here. The old owner was amazing and so friendly! I don’t know what has changed but my last 5 experiences have been awful! The food is amazing don’t get me wrong but the staff and the owner are soooo rude and it makes me extremely sad to see my favorite childhood restaurant change in such a negative way! I gave it 3 star because of the bagels but if I didn’t enjoy them I would never return to this establishment

This place was a joy that my son took me to. The wonderful food (and some unusual dishes - but NOT weird), mixed with a comfy atmosphere made for a very enjoyable brunch for the Mrs.& myself. I loved that it wasn't too hectic. I'm from the East Coast, I'd prefer NOT to see a New York "PACE", or New England RUDE in Denver. Besides, they're good people, so check 'em out. I went there once while visiting my son & I really enjoyed it & had to get a doggie bag the SERVINGS are SO BIG.

I love the bagels at NY Bagel. They're authentic for sure. Visited on Monday to give them some business in these Covid times to help them out. The six bagels I ordered were all undercooked and the only way to describe the cuts they did was a hack job. That was a first. I hope it was just an off day because they make the best bagels and the best bagel sandwiches! They're so good, I'm giving them ONE free pass.

The employees were amazing but the good was ok. The bagels are not fresh and a bit chewy. The burrito s aren't fresh either but good flavor. No indoor seating nice carport of tea. The muffins are good. I think Enstiens bagels are better honestly. Cream cheese isn't all flavorful as well.

Only giving 5 stars because of all the staff except the OWNER. She pushes her customers away and is rude. Not the first complaint about her either. I dread the idea of her being here when I come in. She belittles people. Let the young people manage the register because they don’t take everything so personally. She literally is condescending to her guest. WE ARE PAYING. She literally wasted 5 minutes comparing about how a customer was ordering but she was ordering correctly….lady. Avoid the customers to stay in business.

Consistently yummy. (<-- Is all this 5 Star rating used to say) In fact, they are the best bagels around. Been coming here since 2009, this place is our monthly breakfast treat. BUT their quality control factor has become as bad as a McDonald's for their online orders. It's like their employees can't freaking read. Or count to four (4 items). Twice, (TWICE!!!!) they have forgotten to include the cinnamon roll for my youngest daughter. The second time I drove back to remedy the situation, and they did make it right. But that's 10 extra minutes of driving that makes me wish there was a competent bagel shop even if it were further away. The amount of money that I have lost in up charges for additional items on bagels that were not made correctly would equate to several sandwiches by now. You can't even call or leave a message letting them know that they made your order wrong. This could be rectified with a frequent flyer program punch card, but that'll never happen. The owner reminds me of the soup guy in Seinfeld. She knows that her bagels are the absolute best around so she doesn't have to worry about pleasantries, or treating people like humans. Or even losing a few customers along the way. Oh man have I seen her yell at customers, like wow! Don't ever try to garner sympathy from her, she will tell you how she had x many children and always managed to make it work. I don't usually rant on the Google reviews like this, just look at my other reviews. I'm just heartbroken that a local shop is self sabotaging their business. 6 star delicious factor with 0 star experience factor averages to 3 Stars. 9/19/20 update Forgot the cinnamon roll again. For the fourth time. But I counted to four and helped them and they fixed that before I left the store. They skimped me on the sausage in my champs bagel giving me only a breakfast bagel but charging me more for it. Still tasty but ughh. They are so consistently messing up my order as of late we might have to switch to Einstein which is sad cause they are not consistently delicious. I will now be removing a star for every time they mess up by order and adding a star for every time they get it right. 3 - 1 = 2. 9/26/20 update Grandma joined us for breakfast, they got all five items. Yippee, this week they can count. Left the sausage off of the champs bagel again making it just a breakfast bagel for several dollars more. I mean, the words 'breakfast' and 'champs' look a lot alike. Keeping with last week's promise 2 stars - 1 star = 1star remaining. Can I give zero or negative stars on this platform? I'm really hoping that we don't get to that point, but we'll see. 10/25 and 11/15 update (Sorry to the NYBC for not being thorough for 16 days, I know you guys were biting your nails waiting for me to update this) I'm happy to report that they have gotten the order correct two times in a row and I will be adding two stars to the rating!! That being said, I started repeating the whole order in the special instructions panel. One might say that is a bit extra on the role of the customer, but it seems to be working. And I will continue to do so. Congratulations to the owner on hiring some literate staff. 12/29 Happy bday breakfast to me. Way to get it right (albeit with special instructions), have another star! 1/17 Way to earn that 5 star rating. You've also earned the right to not have special instructions restating the order. Looking forward to see how you perform being treated like a normal business. Delicious btw. 6/12/22 (1.5 yrs later) UGH. They had a great run of delicious convenience, but alas...no more on-line ordering ahead to skip the long lines (we are not accepting online orders due to staff shortages). This extra inconvenience makes me feel like they want to model their business off of the soup place from that Seinfeld episode. Nice place for breakfast or quick lunch. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because they get your order wrong more often than not. It has not deterred me because their bagels are still delicious. I love the strawberry white chocolate ones the best, please offer them more often. Orders are consistently wrong anymore. Used to really like this place and spent a lot of money here. However, they never listen to your order and no apologies when it's incorrect! The worst is that when they do screw up, they don't remake your sandwich, they just switch out the ingredients!! This is a nightmare for people with allergies. Hmmm, can we say cheap?! No idea why they are like that either. They get a ton of business and overcharge for everything. The bagels are delicious but just not worth the money you spend to never get what you order!

This cafe is cute, lots of bagel options and if you have a child that can't quite eat a bagel but is learning how to eat the will gladly accommodate his needs. I asked if they could cut up some eggs for my son and next thing I knew they made him a full breakfast that he could easily pick up and feed himself with. I was impressed for a little bagel shop they did well. I would say I like the staff and it was very clean as well. I will eat new York bagel again.

In regards to the recent review posted by Shannon Miller, her story is not completely accurate. She is a frequent customer that comes in to solely complain and treats the employees with little to no respect. We typically do not respond to these reviews, but it is crucial to share what actually happened. When she came in the other day, she supposedly placed an online order, which we did not receive on our end. When trying to suggest possible things that could’ve happened, like it being ordered at a different NYB, Shannon became defensive and extremely rude, and instead of giving us time to figure out what actually happened she stormed out. She insisted on a refund instead of letting us make it for her. Due to the fact we did not even receive the order in the first place, giving a refund was not physically possible, and unfortunately she didn’t stay long enough to hear us out. The bagels here are really good! It's just a walk away from my apartment, and a quick drive from school, so it's a nice little shop. People kept complaining about the signs making them feel like kids, but these mask signs are not at all as bad as they make it seem. They are just trying to remind people of the law, it's not a big deal. I appreciate a law abiding shop and I'll come here more often because of that.

This spot is the real deal! Being from the West coast I did not know how amazing bagels could be until I visited my husband's family in New York. These are the only bagels we've had in Colorado that compare. Sitting down in a booth with a fresh toasted bagel, hot coffee and newspaper is such a simple pleasure, I try to make it here at least once a week. Love the neighborhood feel and everything about this place.

Great place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is polite and helpful. The young man who rang me up asked how I was doing and it didn't seem like just reflex. The bagels are delicious. They are liberal with toppings too, plenty of cream cheese on my cousins bagel and plenty of peanut butter on mine. Free refills on coffee is a great perk too.

The food has always been incredible. We love coming here on the weekends as a family, especially since it is so close. We’ve sent Multiple friends and family there. This morning we called in to see if they were doing Togo orders. An older woman answered and was rude from the get go. She apparently couldn’t hear me and was EXTREMELY rude when TELLING me to hold so she could get someone else. The lady I put the order in with was really nice and I appreciated her Professionalism and cheery demeanor. My husband went in to pick up our order and that same older woman was rude again to him. We’ve never had a pleasant experience with her and might have to change our weekend bagel shop because she’s so unprofessional and nasty.

Great bagel place. Huge portions and tasty sandwiches. They do go a bit overboard on the cream cheese, and skimp on the salmon. However, the prices are good, and they give you a lot of large capers. Overall one of the better bagel places in the city.

Place is good, although their bagel mixture dough is quite dense/flat and not light and airy as your normal bagel. Still not bad though. Sandwich combinations are really nice and like that its local. Also nice they have a few tables outside to sit on.

It's good, I go here relatively frequently, because there's not a lot of choices for morning coffee in the area. The bagels are average, the sandwich versions are plentiful, service is hit or miss with the amount of teenagers working on the weekends. I'm skeptical of places with hazelnut coffee.

As a New Yorker these aren't quite New York bagels. NY bagels are far thicker, fluffier, and these were also slightly undercooked. Good selection of bagels, though was hoping for tofutti, which they didn't have.

The most authentic/delicious bagel place I have found in CO. As a New Yorker, it has been so hard to find a decent bagel here, and it was such a pleasant surprise to find a bagel place that knows how to make an everything bagel without adding oregano or some other nonsense to it. Just moved to Lakewood, CO from New York state and we were worried about finding a good bagel place in the area. This place is amazing and I keep coming back! Highly recommend coming here for your morning breakfast and coffee. Update: over a year later, and im still obsessed with this place. Moved to Littleton, but we drive 25 min just to go here to grab bagels. Not the best coffee, usually i get an espresso drink for that reason

Only issue is with how they serve drip coffee... Just move the freaking cups out of reach of customer! If customers aren't supposed to touch them. Every time I order a coffee no one hands me a cup and I reach for my own. Only to be told I'm not allowed to reach for my own cup. I have now started to ask for my cup as I order it. Just move them away from customers! The only reason I withhold the 5th star is out of spite. 🤪 This place is awesome!

Probably the best bagels in the area, if you prefer NY style bagels to the bread doughnuts at other places. Staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. Food quality is very good, and we've never had a problem with an order. Definitely worth the stop.

Always good, always friendly, my friends and I enjoy meeting at NY Bagel to eat, drink and visit. I met a gentleman here today that was having coffee and a bagel and had a bag of 2 dozen bagels to go. I asked if he was really that hungry, he responded that he lives in Highland Ranch and if you want good bagels you get them when you're at the good bagel bakery. He can't drive to NY Bagel every day so this is what you do. I'm fortunate enough to live within 4 miles of NY Bagel!!!

Great bagels, great menu. Decent prices. I hate that they microwave everything and use egg Patty things instead of real eggs. It's cozy, comfortable, and a cool place to hang out. When you custom and order, I feel like the elders get all up in the cashier kid's business, and the kids obviously roll their eyes for that interjector to just butt out (which was indeed confusing things more because she wouldn't shut up and let ME explain what I ordered). Otherwise they are fast and efficient. I with they had a gluten free bagel option, even if it's pre-packaged from Udi's or whatever (so I can eat with my whol family) but that's and the eggs and the microwave are why they get a 3.

Took us longer than we're happy to admit to try out NYB cafe. It's a little tucked away in a strip, but this joint is a solid breakfast spot for the enlightened who want a bagel and coffee and realize that Einstein's is actually not that great and Panera is expensive and takes forever.

Love this place. 2nd review and probably 20th visit by now. Consistently good bagels and service. They did get a new electronic ordering system that they're still working the bugs out of, but it isn't changing the kind service and quality. Good for kids, ours live the board games (only three and missing components but that kind of ads charm), not a lot of seating on busy times, but outside options of the weather is nice. Free WiFi is nice. Typically very clean despite the heavy traffic. Feels like you're supporting the locals more than other chains. Thanks for this place and all the hard work!

My pups and i are homeless, passing threw. Pinned down by a snow storm we slept at the post office. Next morning with the snow blowing side ways we went in for shelter. Spent the afternoon having coffee. The staff was kind to my two service animals and i. We came back couple days later, still battling with the storm an having no shelter.
