Love this spot! Doesn't get any better for me than a vegan bakery + soft serve. I almost always go for a Wizard - all the flavors are amazing though my go-to is either cookie dough or peanut butter cup. The baked goods here don't disappoint. I really like the chocolate chip cookies and banana bread. This is a must stop after dining at City o' City (though they serve these desserts there as well :)). P.S. During COVID they only allowed one party in at a time as the interior space is small.

AMAZING We had a destination wedding near Colorado Springs back in March, and we wanted to have our wedding cake be vegan. All of our guests were absolutely blown away by how beautiful and delicious the cake from Make Believe was! They were even ~more~ amazed when they learned it was completely vegan!! We got the vanilla cake with lemon curd filling and it was absolutely to die for. But honestly, ALL the flavors we sampled were top notch. The whole process was really easy, and the staff were very friendly and really cared that we got what we wanted. Overall, I would 100% recommend Make Believe Bakery for vegan wedding cakes (and non-vegan weddings, too, it's that good!!) The next time we're in Denver, we'll definitely be back for more cupcakes and other treats!

This was one of our stops on Mystery Picnic. We got 2 chocolate chip cookies as apart of our Picnic and ordered the oatmeal cream pie cookie. Thought it would have been sweeter. Overall a great place if you are looking for vegan and gluten free.

Oh snap!! A bakery that is vegan & gluten free?!These baked goods were delicious and baked to perfection! They also have so many more options, even soft serve! There was a little bit of a wait due to the size (only one party at a time), plus covid concerns.

They have a delicious soft serve ice cream that pairs well with their mix-ins. The cookie dough in the wizard was great (and they definitely did not skimp). All of the baked goods I tried were good, and they looked nice as well. The brownies were fun and brought back memories. The Whoopie Pie was a little rich for me, but still a fun treat. I had to wait in a little bit of a line to get in right as they opened, but it was definitely worth it.

Your search for amazing vegan ice cream ends here - they have the BEST vegan soft serve ice cream here, hands down. It’s oat milk based and you will literally dream of it after you have it once - everything there is vegan, and a lot of items are gluten free! They do “wizards” (like a McDonald’s blizzard) with whatever the heck you want, and I can’t reiterate enough how delicious everything is. Their cupcakes, cakes, brownies, and other baked goods are also amazing. Basically just stop by and get whatever your heart desires and you’ll be so pleased - I literally will order things from here to be delivered to me sometimes lol, also there’s almost always some kind of line but don’t worry, it goes fast!

Holy wow this is so good. Never would have guessed these were vegan. I'm in love with the cinnamon rolls, the pumpkin spice cupcakes were so moist and flavorful, the icing light and sweet, and the ho-ho decadent. I def will be visiting this place often!!!! So glad this shop is here

So excited to find this place since changing my diet to be vegan and gluten free. I had a brownie that was soft and fidget and delicious. The confetti cupcake was slightly sticky and dense from being in the cooler, but still wonderful. Also had a chocolate chip cookie... Similar graininess of any GF baking, but taste was still good.

My friend surprised me with cupcakes for my birthday and they were out of this world! Everything you want a cupcake to be — moist & yummy. Icing to cake ratio on point. And they were so pretty!! Funfetti & Ho-Ho are a must!

The ice cream twist on a waffle cone was pretty good and hit the spot on a hot day. The deceptive pricing was a bit annoying. It said 6.50 on their menu but after paying with my card it somehow ended up being close to 10 dollars. If you want that much for ice cream you could at least give me the full portion ? One of the saddest cones I've bought...

Delicious and unique selection of baked goods! All vegan AND gluten-free options! Cosmic brownie is so good, their sweet potato cinnamon rolls are out of this world!! Warm it up and it’s the best, coziest thing ever. Seriously. I looove baked goods and this place has gotten vegan baked goods down. Give this place a go if you haven’t tried it! Highly recommend.

I’m so glad this place exists! Everything tastes amazing, and it’s a nice worry free treat. However, I had to remove a star because while they claim to be 100% vegan, they use the vibrant artificially colored sprinkles that aren’t traditionally vegan. (We call them bug sprinkles, since they crush up bugs to make the dyes). I confirmed with the girl at the counter and altered my selections to avoid the bug sprinkles. If they opted for naturally colored sprinkles, they would be number one in my book! Still, this place is amazing and everyone should definitely try them out!

Really great place for vegan desserts. Friendly staff and the food is fantastic. I would suggest you change the 20% after charge policy- you clearly have many dedicated customers happy to pay what it takes to appropriately pay your staff. So it would be nicer to integrate that cost into the food (i.e. raise your sticker price instead of charging 20% after the fact, it seems disingenuous). We will still pay it; you have a great business and we want to see it succeed. Thanks again, great place.

Make Believe Bakery made my wedding cake and it was perfect! The process of picking out the cake type, filling, and frosting was super fun and easy! My husband and I had a great date night tasting our cupcakes and choosing out favorite. Every single cake there is delicious, it was nearly impossible to pick!! The bakers at Make Believe Bakery kept in contact with me and sent me gentle (and abolutely necessary) reminders when things were due. Overall is was a great experience and if you need a vegan cake in Denver, they are the place to go.

We went here after going to City O and it was amazing. We got the sprinkle cupcake and a swirl ice cream with cookie dough. The cookie dough was not only a good portion instead of the usual tiny bites you get everywhere else but it was also incredibly tasty. Above and beyond expectation. Their frosting is amazing too.

10/10! Got my partner’s birthday cake here and they did an excellent job at taking my peanut allergy seriously - it truly sucks when everyone is eating cake and you have to sit out because of your allergy. Definitely got to enjoy it! Cake was freakin’ delicious, beautiful, and more than I could have asked for. THANK YOU!!!

I love it here and get deliveries from here all of the time. Everything I've tried has been great.. at this point I think I've had their whole menu & I'm never disappointed! Cupcakes are the best thing, in my opinion (but you can't really go wrong with anything)!

When my sister in law said, "we're going for vegan ice cream." I was intrigued. She promised it was worth the drive and I agree. Standing outside in line at the bakery is just as fun as ordering inside. There's an eclectic mix of people in the area walking the streets and you get a good sense of Denver while waiting in line. The bakery itself offers many varieties of baked goods and mile high icing on their cupcakes. They also sell buckets of their cookie dough, which is divine. They use oatmilk in their ice cream and it is heavenly. We all loved the full flavors and variety available. Staff was cheerful and knowledgable. And for those who care, the store name is perfectly placed on the window so if you want to take a group photo with the store name, you can!

Pretty expensive for a cupcake... & the cupcakes still taste "vegan". Not a flexible shop. You get what you get. The atmosphere seemed a little off. One person per shop. Oh and make sure to look at your receipt! (We tried the funfetti and chocolate cupcake.)

Vegan restaurant but also excellent place if you’re gluten free and dairy free as well!! They use oatly for their ice creams. I purchased quite a bit of things and tried scout cookies (wished I would have bought more), banana bread, almond cupcake mini, and a wizard (think McFlurry but better)

This is the most consistent gluten and dairy free option for desserts besides Rhinelander‘s bakery in Old Town Arvada. Everywhere else has hours that are so inconsistent that you never get to go. However, Make Believe Bakery offers consistency, bold options, and delicious flavors (vanilla, chocolate, & swirl) of ice cream. Their combination of their baked goods with their ice cream and toppings make this experience the reason you come back over and over again. Come by earlier in the day because they have one constant disappointment, they sell out of your favorite cream or baked goods. Regardless, their baked good are enough to send you home satisfied.

Amazing little vegan bakery in downtown Denver. Everything is vegan! They have super interesting, delicious products ranging from about 3-6$ per item. They super unique items like oatmeal pies and vegan soft serve. They also mention Gluten free (GF) My family couldn’t taste the difference of vegan vs not vegan. Totally recommendable!

Amazing vegan soft serve! Definitely a bit pricy but the portion sizes are great and the toppings are generous. I love that the texture is creamy despite it being vegan and the cookie dough topping tasted great too. 10/10 would return!

Awesome vegan bakery! I'm not vegan but will still pick up a pastry if I'm in the neighborhood! Even have delicious vegan soft-serve ice cream! This is not a knock on the service or quality of their bake goods which is why I still think they deserve 5 stars but I don't agree with their 20% service fee. I understand it's to provide a livable wage to employees and I think that's important but as the owners that cost/responsibility falls to you. Maybe increase the price of some of your goods, or take a smaller cut and pay your employees what they deserve. I know times are tough right now so it is what it is but if I'm being honest the extra 20% has steered me away a couple of times.

We also asked for a simple mountain design around each tier and it was perfect! Our guests honestly could not believe the cake was vegan -- even our event coordinator was shocked! Wow! My partner is always frustrated how hard it is to find dairy-free food, much less tasty dairy-free food. I decided to try out Make Believe Bakery since they're a vegan bakery. I purchased the 9" DBC cake, and it was AMAZING. Absolutely delicious, and it looked great! Everyone at the party was shocked to learn it had no dairy. Seriously, this bakery was great. I would highly recommend this place, even if you aren't vegan.

We chose MB for our wedding cake service because they offer vegan cakes that are absolutely delicious. Before our first sit down meeting, we had a phone consultation where we could choose about four different flavors. During the sit down meeting we tasted these different offerings in cupcake form. They were very professional in helping us choose the right cake size based on our guest count. We also had a few gluten free guests, so they were able to make some GF cupcakes to accomodate. They were organized, professional and made sure the cake was delivered on our big day. All of our guests loved the cake! MB also offered to make us an anniversary cake free of charge a year after our wedding! Thanks so much Make Believe!

I've decided I won't frequent here as often due to the hidden 20% service fee they have started charging. Base price + service fee + tax + tip is unreasonable. Just pay your people a living wage and include it in your price. It feels dishonest like food delivery companies. Honestly, a vending machine could do a majority of the work here as the soft serve is a bit disappointing. Don't get me wrong. The baked goods are good but not the best in Denver.

Visiting from Florida my friends and I stopped in, we spent over $100 because we wanted to try everything! I had a peanut butter cup wizard “blizzard” and it was incredible!! It was snowing but I ate it anyways, so good. Best banana bread I’ve ever had in my life. Wish I got the whole loaf!! Staff was super friendly:) asked us about our trip and made us feel welcome! I would never be able to tell the difference, and my non-vegan friends are always shocked that it is vegan too! Really can't say enough good things about this place. My family ordered me a vegan birthday cake from here and it was delicious. They custom made the cake to be chocolate with raspberry jam filling and white frosting. Cupcakes are moist and just amazing, HOWEVER, frosting is too sweet. It really doesn’t need that much sugar imo. I have also had the lavender lemon curd cake, it was ok-ish, it was just too sweet some of our guests couldn’t even eat it after taking a bite. Please MB cut on the sugar a little. It just destroys the goodness.

I ordered a cupcake here today. My card was initially declined. The server was so sweet she gave me the cupcake anyway. I returned to pay for my food not long after. They were so polite and kind. Wonderful place! Hard to find places that do dairy, egg and soy free baked goods that also taste good. The ho ho cupcakes are not cupcakes they are mind melting transcendent spiritual experiences that taste like chocolate. They are like finally finding out that you are the vampire queen and riding through the woods on the back of a giant wolf feeling the breeze through your hair embracing who you were meant to be all along. Okay maybe that was a bit much, but good golly they are good.

Okay so coming here was legit life changing. I got a funfetti cupcake and the chocolate soft serve with cookie dough on top, and both wildly exceeded my expectations. My husband and I got our wedding cake at Make Believe Bakery and it was our favorite part of all of the whole meal. We had our wedding about a year ago, and our family/friends still recap how awesome the cake was! The texture is perfect for both the gluten free/traditional cakes (not too dense or too crumbly). We also got a smaller gluten free sheet cake for folks with allergies/dietary restrictions and it was a hit! Everyone we interacted with here was friendly, professional, and patient walking us through the selection process for our cake. Make Believe Bakery provided a wedding cake that was as beautiful as it was tasty! This is the absolute best vegan bakery I’ve been to in any state.

Been coming here for years. I recently got the cookie cake for my birthday; vegan and gluten-free. The cookie cake and MBB’s take on the DC blizzard alone impress me. This is like a traditional bakery; AND vegan. The name is fitting; seems too good to be true. So many different options; bread and cinnamon rolls too. Gluten free options are always available. My favorite is the key lime pie 🥧. I do hope they add in raw options in the future.

So grateful for this bakery! We had a small birthday gathering this past weekend and needed vegan, gluten free option treats for some of our guests. I was able to walk right in and order three of their Funfetti GFO Cupcakes for $5 a piece. Not to mention, I love a place that takes care of their employees and adds the gratuity in. I stopped by Make Believe Bakery (and its sister restaurant, City'o'City) while in town for just the night. I really wanted a sweet treat, so while I was waiting for dinner from City'o'City, I meandered over. I asked one of the women working what she highly recommended, but was quickly told by the next woman in line that I should order the vanilla soft-serve with cookie dough (all vegan, of course). The price was a little higher than I expected, especially coming from Brooklyn, but boy was this delicious. Truly, this serving would have been good for two people — it ended up being my dinner for the evening, and I gave away my food to an unhoused woman nearby. Highly recommend visiting Make Believe, which has so many treats that I wanted to try, and make sure to support more vegan businesses :) Thanks all!

This place has amazing vegan treats and my family can't help but to make the trip up there from Highlands Ranch at least once a week. The portions are big so if your ordering a large ice cream make sure your either very hungry or have brought a friend. My kids love the soft serve here more than traditional ice cream! Go here now! Hands down our favorite bakery in the city! Their lemon cupcakes and oatmeal whoopie pies are DELICIOUS! My wife and I are both lactose intolerant so as soon as we saw that they had vegan ice cream (that tastes incredible btw!) We were sold. I don't normally write reviews, but I just stopped by this place and was really impressed by how many options they had for being a completely vegan and mostly gluten free bakery. I got the funfetti ice cream, and while I did enjoy it, it does have some lingering (oat maybe?) flavor that does take away from the flavor of the ice cream itself. It tastes more like oat than vanilla. All that to say, I'm so happy to have a place like this nearby and I'll definitely be back.

I was SO excited to find this place! I’m vegan and spent my birthday in Denver and wanted to treat myself. This place is completely dairy free and so, so good. I got their Birthday Cake flavored ice cream shake/cup. It was a big cup filled with vanilla soft serve ice cream, funfetti cake chunks, rainbow sprinkles, and whipped cream! I recommend adding a topping of cookie dough bites to it if you really wanna live large!

Excellent cake! We got a six inch, chocolate cake with vanilla filling, white frosting, and chocolate ganache. We were able to get it ordered two days in advance no problem and it was ready to go right when I showed up. The staff is friendly, the bakery is cozy and smells like various desserts. I Back to the cake. It's so incredibly rich. So rich, I don't recommend eating it after a large meal (like I did). So rich, it'll be taken down during the revolution. If you're in the Denver area, please give this vegan bakery a shot!

Found this place looking for vegan nut free restaurants. I'm not sure I would call it allergy free as they had baked goods with nuts in them, but I had no issues with my peanut/treenut allergy. We got some of the mini cupcakes and a hoho cupcake and they were delicious! If I'm ever in Denver I'll be sure to stop by for a quick treat

Just a warning for all my CELIACS out there. This place is absolutely so delicious. But unfortunately just because its gluten free doesnt mean you can eat here. IF YOU ARE CELIAC DO NOT EAT THE BAKED GOODS HERE! Maybe the ice cream. But not the baked goods! The flour can cross contaminate so easily and heat doesnt kill gluten. I got glutened here, which sucks... Because again its SOOO GOOD :,( I would love to reccommend all my celiac friends so go to Gluten Escape:) they are 100%gluten free! Their cupcakes are a bit grainy but they're a great replacement! They also have cookies and brownies!

Not just for vegans! My lactose intolerant girlfriend and I went there for some pastries to celebrate her birthday. She was so excited that everything was dairy free! We got ho hos, whoopie pies (which were more like oatmeal cream pies), and a blueberry danish. Everything was incredibly delicious. I would go there again for a treat any time. We can’t wait to go back and try the soft serve. Next year, I’ll be sure to order her a cake ahead of time.

I was a first time customer and decided to order a carrot cake for my partner for his 32nd birthday. The women on the phone was very kind and pleasant on the phone. I ordered a carrot cake, I have tried many carrot cakes and in the past have tried many vegan cream cheeses that taste very similar to real cream cheese. This frosting tasted like confectionary sugar and was not good and there was a ton of it. The cake itself was great it was moist and dense in a good way. If I knew the frosting was going to be this sweet, I would not have ordered it. The cream cheese frosting on a carrot cake is a defying moment for a carrot cake. I bet other cakes would have been more of our taste, so it was kind of a bummer. Considering I had to tip a mandatory 20 percent on the cake or any purchase this also was a miss, the small cake itself was 46 dollars. The soft serve I also ordered was hands down the best soft serve and the waffle cone was perfection. Overall: Before purchasing a cake make sure you are going to love it. Buy a slice of cake or a cupcake that is the same flavor, therefore you know for sure it is the one. Not sure if I will order again, unfortunately.

So happy to have found Make Believe Bakery. We were surprising a friend after working out at the park for her birthday. I was looking for gluten free and had seen a few other places closer to where we were meeting but each of them closed by 3 or 4pm. I opted to try Traders Joe's and the line was wrapped around the building. I had seen Make Believe Bakery when I was searching and it was a little bit further away from City Park but it was open until 7pm. They also offer an option to call before 6pm and reserve ready made cupcakes. I rushed over after work and the staff was so kind over the phone and when I arrived. I chose the mini cupcakes in lemon(GF) and mint chocolate along with a funfetti cupcake (normal size, GF) for the birthday girl. Everyone LOVED them! The mini cupcakes were the perfect size and the flavor was phenomenal. One friend who doesn't like chocolate, tried the mint chocolate and said it was delicious. Worth the trip and the price didn't break the bank either! Highly recommend. So good!

We had our wedding cake made by Make, Believe Bakery this June. Although I didn't need a tasting to know I wanted to have them make a cutting cake and cupcakes for us, our tasting last year was superb. We met with a baker and tried four different jumbo flavors to figure out which ones we liked the most. We decided to make our cutting cake vanilla with vanilla filling and espresso cream for the frosting; we also had this as one of the cupcake options as well as their gluten-free soy-free funfetti and a chocolate cupcake with a strawberry mousse filling and vanilla buttercream. I just about died of happiness eating my cake. Make, Believe has the BEST vegan cake (their other baked goods--and soft serve--are amazing as well). They also delivered our cake/cupcakes to the venue for us. Working with Make, Believe was easy and delicious!

This little jem supplies the yummy bakery items at City O' City. Great selection of gluten free and vegan cookies, cupcakes, etc. I stopped by recently to grab snacks for an upcoming flight and almost ate the whole cookie on the walk home. Highly recommend the Walnut chocolate mint cookies, they have a name, I think they're called scout cookies. Should considering rebranding to heavenly grasshoppers. Only drawback is that i recall the hours aren't super convenient which usually makes me frequency City O', no complaints there!

I think I buy at least 2 of everything when I visit bc they have the gf stuff too! I mean, let's be real... Who's walking out of the Bakery with less than $50 worth of the BEST VGF treats money can buy. It ain't me. Take all my money! Update. We stop here every time we come into Denver. We never leave without at least a dozen cookies)
