Reviews of Bakery Four
Get ready to stand in line but not to worry because you can scroll through their Instagram photos & salivate at all the food art while waiting. I must inform you deciding what to get could be one of the most difficult choices you have ever made. I suggest you take a deep breath then just order one of everything….because yes, “it’s that good”. With each bite you will taste the high quality ingredients marry together, chewing slowing to savor this monumental food bliss, silently giving thanks for this small yet memorable gift in life.
This is the BEST bakery in Denver! They make the best croissants and sour dough in town, but truly can you can’t go wrong with any of their desserts. It’s worth the wait! Check their Instagram the night before for their full bakery good line up as they change every day.
Best bakery in Denver! First thing I’ve found that rivals the best of other major cities. Try the morning bun. The sourdough country loaf is incredible!
Finally made it to Bakery Four after wanting to try it for some time - here’s my thoughts:
Positive:
-Line looks daunting but moves pretty fast.
-Pastry/individual baked goods were great. Vanilla bean spandauer was my fave.
Areas for Improvement:
-Latte was very meh. I wouldn’t order again.
-Felt like the Country Loaf didn’t live up to the hype - crust is a bit too hard. I’ve had better fresh baked bread at other spots in Denver.
Fantastic bakery! The only downside is there was about a 20 minute wait on the weekend but it was worth it.
The breakfast sandwich was enormous and delicious for only $8. I also had a morning bun which was perfectly baked and sugary.
Sooo good! I’ve been twice now and can’t wait to go back. I LOVED the birria roll so much! If I get a chance, I’m going to go back and get at least 2 more. I’m also a huge fan of all the pastries with custard and cream in them. But really everything I’ve had so far was amazing. You can’t go wrong! Be sure to arrive early before they sell out of the popular stuff!
This place is an absolute gem. All of their pastries are delicious, and so are their breads. Didn't get a chance to try a bagel yet. Lines can get pretty long, so get ready for that. But, it's totally worth it. Very friendly staff and really fast baristas. Can't really ask for anything more.
Shawn and Alex have built a gem here. If you haven’t read about their story, go check it out. They and their team make the best baked goods and treats. The staff is incredibly friendly and their new location is awesome. Highly recommend!
Wow. One of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to, reminds me a lot of Tartine in San Francisco. Bakery four is fantastic. Be prepared to wait in line on the weekends. The only small critical thing I could say is that there were a few minor doughy spots in the pain au chocolat and morning bun. The croissant was perfect though. And everything was great. I think 98% of people probably wouldn’t notice the tiny doughy spot I saw, and it didn’t stop them from being delicious and extremely satisfying. I think you’d have to be a professional pastry chef to discern if these could get any better
I showed up at 8:30am on a Friday to find a line snaking around the corner and halfway down the block. When I got into the bakery around 9am, all the daily specials were sold-out, but I was able to snag a couple of pastries. And OHMYGOSH, is the waiting worth it! Moist, buttery, perfect balance of flavors - I’d intended to save one for the following day but ended up eating both because they were sheer perfection in pastry. I’m looking forward to this bakery being able to expand services in their new location, but I definitely recommend getting in line at 8am so you have a full selection of goodies to choose from.
This is absolutely the best bakery I've ever visited. There's a reason there's always a long wait and a line out the door! Everything was delicious, flaky, buttery. I'd gladly stand in line again.
Bakery Four is absolutely delicious and their new space is stunning, so airy and fresh! I love their weekly specials too! Always fun to try something new along with my faves. The morning bun might be my favorite of the regular lineup, but it's hard to choose as everything is so incredibly yummy (shout out to the cardamom bun, cookies and sausage roll in particular!). I love the creativity that goes into everything, especially the specials. All the flavors marry beautifully in each pastry and they're so pretty to boot. You can tell a lot of love and thought has been poured into this bakery. Will be back again and again!!
I go to Bakery four every week. There are often new surprises in addition to the amazing country loaf, baguette and assorted croissants. These croissants are among the best I have eaten in the US. The lines are long but worth the wait! Only wish each days menu were posted online. Everything is amazing. Love the croissant bread pudding.
Such a long wait in line but omg so worth it! The selection changes regularly but we tried the croissants, a danish, the lemon pepper cream cheese (to die for), spandauer, garlic bread, and baguette. I would say the croissants and baguette are a bit over baked which makes them really flaky but a bit on the hard/drier side. They look pretty and there’s lots of lamination but they’ve overdone it a little and it takes away from the “breadiness” of the pastries. Still, it’s probably one of the better bakeries in Denver. We forgot to take a pic because the pastries were devoured quickly. 😅
I woke up bright and early to head to this bakery with a huge smile on my face. The sun was out, I heard birds chirping and I just knew, today was going to be a good day. Unfortunately as I was walking towards the bakery I tripped and fell and badly sprained my ankle, I took a major tumble and was down and out for a good 5 minutes before a friendly neighborhood samaritan helped me to my feet. I tested my ankle and it seemed good enough to go. I was determined to try this bakery and limped to the entrance fighting through the pain like the warrior I am! I ordered a coffee, a chocolate croissant, a brown sugar cinnamon pop four, and a raspberry cheesecake cruffin. Absolutely phenomenal. I was blown away by these pastries and I’ll 100% be back. Afterwards I went to urgent care and got my ankle checked out. We’re all good here folks and hopefully I’ll be able to walk back into this bakery a fully healed man with a rock solid healthy ankle. I look forward to that day. 5 stars for sure. Great bakery.
I’ve been to many bakeries in the Denver area and I will say, no place compares to bakery four. The pastries are warm, super fresh, flakey and just plain delicious. They do not compromise on the quality of their ingredients (quality chocolate and the best ham for their croissants) either. The wait is always worth it so plan to have a little time when you stop by! The line usually goes by very quickly. And definitely grab a country loaf while you’re in! Since they’ve first opened, I can tell their country loaf has gotten better over time. 10/10 experience.
Delicious!! You can taste the care and quality Bakery Four puts into each and every pastry. Best croissants in the city. Only bummer is that I don't patronize BF very often because I just don't have time to wait 30+ minutes in line for breakfast pastries.
Absolutely magically incredibly delicious baked goods! So many different options to choose from, and every single pastry that I have tried has been amazing. And as amazing the different pastries are, the classic croissant is one of my personal favorites. It’s one of those melt-in-your-mouth, buttery and flakey magic croissants…
Bakery Four is hands down the best bakery I've found in the Denver area! They use high quality ingredients and are always adding new delicious pastries to their lineup. Absolutely worth the 25 minute drive it takes me to get to Tennyson Street!
I really hate waiting in lines but Bakery Four is definitely worth the hype. Everything from their savory baked goods to their sweet treats, I would highly recommend. I went around 7:45 on a Friday and waited in line for a total of 30ish minutes including waiting for the bakery to open. Parking in this area is tight so definitely consider that when visiting during peak hours as well.
I got a variety of baked goods, their country loaf, and two bagels and my recommendation would be their garlic knot and espresso brownies!
Hands down the best bakery in Denver. Yes, they’ll be a line and a bit of a wait but it’s WORTH it! Don’t skip on the bagels or marinated olives. The seasonal items are all to die for and when they have in then French onion croissant slaps! It’s literally a delicious bite of French onion soup in laminated glory.
I've had a lot of pastries in my lifetime. The Morning Bun is one of the top things I've ever eaten -- ever -- seriously -- EVER. I am not kidding and I don't think I've ever posted a food review before. It isn't just one pastry - it changes as you get into it and unroll and eat it. All the things I've eaten at Bakery 4 have been great, but the Morning Bun could inspire world peace.
I’m so lucky to have this high quality bakery in my neighborhood. I’m a long time sourdough baker and just wish I could attain the perfection of the porridge & herb loaves of bread. The pastries are exquisite and if I try to list my favorites it’s basically whatever is on the menu!
The best bakery in Denver, hands down! They make their pastries and bread in true french fashion- with a lot of buttery crispy layers! Everything i’ve tried at Bakery Four has been delicious and I love how they rotate through different flavors and types of pastries. I always look forward to stopping in as a treat!
100% worth the hype. Every single thing I’ve had here is incredible. If you’re a fan of bread and croissants, you will absolutely love it. Haven’t had the coffee here yet but I know the brand they use and it’s good stuff. This place is dangerous for a sweet tooth!
I drive 20 minutes to get Bakery Four amazing breads, pastry and more. They are amazing. I love their focus on using only the best top and healthy ingredients and their commitment to top quality ingredients, taste, and beauty. They make eating pastry worth it.
Bakery Four is one the best bakeries I’ve been to. I haven’t had a single thing I dislike here. All laminated dough pastries have incredible layers and are so flaky and buttery. The Sunday breakfast sandwiches on that brioche is also a must get!
We found Bakery Four on the last day of our vacation. What a missed opportunity!! They have the best pastries I’ve ever had and I would eat here everyday if I lived in Denver. Get here at least 15-20mins before they open to ensure you get to choose from the entire menu. Highly recommend!!!
I've lived in the Bay Area, NYC, and a few other places known for their food and Bakery 4 has the best croissant and morning bun, period. Love the coffee and other goodies as well. Can't wait to go back.
Bakery four is delicious. Lines are always long but they move quickly when you have friends in line with you! I wish they had two registers for checking folks out so the line would move just a little quicker. They collaborate with other local restaurants, which I really appreciate.
I'm actually a bit surprised the reviews are this high, although...
1. The pastries are indeed AMAZING here. No doubt some of the best I've had stateside.
2. The location is great.
3. That's all. The single file line with only one register ensures a 30-minute wait at almost all times - just silly. The coffee is mediocre and can't even be ordered to stay. They often run out of items, and you don't find out until reaching the front of the line. Sadly, they have a great space that looks unfinished - white walls, zero ambiance, evidenced by the fact that folks rarely eat in; 100 people in line with 8 empty tables. They are only open 4 days per week and only for 5 hours per day. There's no way to order ahead.
I really hope this place improves to become more well-rounded because I do love the treats! And I do wait for them in single file with my neighbors! But right now, these guys are fantastic at baking pastries and not very good at the other aspects of the business. See you in line.
An excellent bakery/eatery with a unique system to accommodate the long lines waiting to enter. Let me warn you in advance..the line up to enter starts long before the doors open. You won't be disappointed though as the selection of coffees, pastries, breads and sandwiches are delicious to the eye and even more to the taste.
I have been eating bread my whole life and I am always on a lookout for a good bakery. Bakery Four, in my opinion, makes the best country loaf in Denver and it's a place I visit on a weekly basis. They also make incredible pastries.
Nice place. While the line was long, it moved at a good speed, so I was able to reach the order counter in a decent time. The pastry selection was good too. I was very happy with the selections I made, especially the monkey bread and the vanilla bean spandauer. Be sure to get there early to ensure you have the best selection!
The baked goods are absolutely divine and the staff are phenomenal. Everyone had a smile on his/her face, and it just made our morning so pleasant. My family and I enjoyed both the savory and sweet pastries. If you’re a big fan of savory flavors, check out their garlic knot and Gruyère ham pastries.
Bakery Four is amazing. 100% worth getting up early to wait in line. I never knew I liked chocolate croissants until I had the ones from Bakery Four. They use the best chocolate!
Soooo delicious and worth the wait! I am gluten intolerant and endured the stomach cramps for some pastries. Luckily I can have sourdough bread without issue and theirs is delicious! My favorite so far has been the morning bun, layers of sugary goodness, absolutely love!
Most places with lines as long as Bakery Four are overhyped. I didn’t go there for a long time because of this and regret all the pastries I missed out on…
This place is amazing! The pastries are well-baked and buttery.
I prefer to go on Sundays so I can get their brioche sandwich with caramelized onions. The garlic bun is also delicious!
Get in line.
IMO, the best bakery in Denver. Thier pastry is buttery and rich, their chocolate chunk cookies are delectable, their sourdough bread is toothsome; All their flavors are balanced, mature, and not overly sweet. And, they're nice people! We are so lucky to have Bakery Four in the neighborhood.
Food: the best croissants I’ve had this side of Paris. The pain au jambon was truly fabulous. The garlic knot was life-changing, with the freshly baked garlic cloves in bottom. The cardamom bun is as fantastic as it sounds. Nothing disappointed.
Environment: it’s a great little place on Tennyson with a very welcoming coffee shop vibe. Since there’s always a line, it’s a little louder than average, but it’s so friendly one hardly notices.
Warning: There’s always a line because this place is so good. I came at 745 (they open at 8) and I was through the line with my ordered goods by 820.
The best bakery I've ever been to! There is always a line in the morning but it moves quickly and is well worth the wait. I will be going there at least once a month moving forward.
Best Bakery ever. Love everything! They do an amazing job and use quality ingredients and put care and quality into all their products and ingredient choices; it is an art form. And they are nice.
Bakery Four is incredible! My favorite items are the morning bun & ham/cheese croissant but you really can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Can’t wait to share them with my friends & family visiting from out of town ❤️
Bakery Four is easily my favorite bakery in Denver! The quality of their ingredients, as well as the final product, is unmatched. I wish I could have one of their morning buns every day!
Writing this after devouring what was hands down the best pastry I’ve ever had - a gingerbread cruffin! Came home with extra goodies that I can’t wait to snack on. Bakery Four should be a must visit for anyone looking for a bakery with tasty pastries and croissants.
It's always a treat to visit to Bakery Four. They are - hands down - one of our state's best bakeries! Excellent bread and pastries. Real quality craftsmanship. So grateful that they are in our neighborhood.
Food is amazing. I don’t understand the process that they have with only one payment kiosk. They’ll have five people behind the counter boxing up pastries but every patron has to wait to pay at a single tablet. It makes me think that they want the line? I i’ve also been there on 2 occasions and left the bakery only to find out that I was charged for items that didn’t end up being in the box. I ordered six bagels and got five I ordered four croissants and got one. This disconnect could also be corrected if the person that has box in your stuff is the person that you pay with
Bakery Four is outstanding! My morning favorites are the plain croissant (so flaky and buttery!) and the morning bun (sweet sunshine in your mouth – and the breads are out of this world. The line is WORTH IT!
Love this place! The pastries may be some of the best, if not the best, in Denver. I try not to go too often because I always end up purchasing more than I need.
The line is totally worth the wait
we need more stars for this little "start up" that's growing by leaps and bounds! their sourdough pastries are just out of this world....I've tried virtually all of them. Their ingredients are quality and no funky stuff. Their bread is great. I like that I can freeze the bread too and thaw it a week later to eat. The only thing they lack is better hours and more availability, which will hopefully come with growth. I'd love to see them branch out to farmers markets! or other locations....hint hint....Castle Rock.
Literally ordered a little of everything because my first trip was so good! Sausage croissant, vanilla spandauer & pop fours are awesome!! Def worth the Saturday morning line.
Simply perfect. We tried 4 items and they all were nearly perfect in every respect. Our espresso drinks were seriously on point as well. Extremely highly recommended!
Bakery Four is the most delicious bakery in Denver (and everyone knows it, hence the never ending line)! The morning bun and ham and cheese croissant are my absolute favorites but you can’t go wrong with any selections!
Best bakery in town! It’s become a weekly tradition to go and get an herb loaf, which is 100% worth however long the line is! Morning bun is a must try, along with the pop fours, but really you can’t go wrong with anything.
Unbelievably divine pastries, and best boule ever. Even our French relatives had to admit the croissant are better than many in Paris! The bread is the only thing their baby would eat while they were here;) #sogood
Bonkers good!! First off, everything has the perfect amount of salt. I hate unsalted/under salted pastries, but these were noticeably perfect! Also, nothing was overly sweet. The crème pat was so smooth and lightly sweet. The custard in the spandauer was in line with the crème pat. The dough is light and crunchy with tons of layers. The orange flavor in the morning bun is perfectly balanced. The baguette is easily the best texture I’ve gotten in Denver. If the line wasn’t quite so long, I’d be there every chance I got!
All of your baked goods dream come true! Best enjoyed by the box full. Love the new location too! Not sure anyone frowns when entering into this place, the joy is contagious!
Absolutely amazing spot, they are rediclously talented here. Tried just about everything there, we live on the otherside of town so had to make the trip worth it. Highly recommend making the effort if you are not in the area or just visiting for the weekend, it's that good. Plus the line isn't to bad moves quicker than sitting down at a table and being waiting on. Staff is super kind too!
Delicious pastries so worth the wait in line! Chocolate croissants are heavenly. I love the vanilla spandeur and husband loved the cardamom bun.
One of these days I will try their breads!
Eh. Overall just an ok experience. A line for coffee a line for pastries, kind of clever to increase the teams workflow. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing..just overall not impressed like I wanted to be. The homemade cream cheese was fantastic. The salted bagel had so much salt, I was forced to scrape it off. That flakey salt ruined a perfectly good bagel. The vanilla latte I ordered, honestly tasted burnt. I would pass on that. I do, however, love Queens coffee, so if you go grab a bag. The vanilla pastry was tasty, but not wow.
The bakery is fantastic. I live in the neighborhood and stop in weekly for a loaf of bread. It is hard to have a favorite because everything is great. The staff is also top notch.
Bakery four is delicious! I always see the line wrapped around the block while I’m working out at Alchemy365 and it is WORTH THE HYPE. The ham and cheese croissant is *chefs kiss*
Incredible. I don’t even like pastries that much and I would wait an hour to get them here. Also, amazing coffee. The vibe, the food, the drink, it’s just the bees knees.
The pasties here are worth the long line outside at 8 am and surprisingly, the line moves pretty efficiently! 10/10 would definitely recommend, the morning bun was my favorite
The most delicate, crisp shell on the chocolate center of a delicious chocolate croissant I've ever bit into! Warning! They're croissants are addictive
Best croissant of my life! I ordered classic and pain au chocolat croissants, morning bun, spandauer, and a country loaf. Everything I tried was so good, seems like you can't go wrong with anything here so I recommend trying one of everything 😊
Service was fast and friendly, and like others have mentioned there's usually a line so dress warm.
The pastries are great but the staff can be rude as hell. You will always wait at least 20 minutes. They tossed everything in a small bag and purposely skipped past the screen so we couldn’t sign up for their loyalty program
Bakery 4 is the best bakery in Denver, easily. Make sure to try their cardamom bun especially, it's out of this world.
This bakery is great. Amazing variety and good coffee to top it off. Sourdough pastries are made with care, and it can be seen
Finally, a true bakery in the Highlands. Everything at Bakery Four is sublime and the new (larger) location means they don't sell out while you are waiting in line at 9:00.
Best local bakery in Denver! Everything is beyond delicious. Totally worth the wait! 10/10 would recommend.
Best laminated pastries I've had in Denver. Worth the lines for sure. Don't sleep on their bagels either.
Best bakery in Denver metro. Very friendly staff, best bagels in Denver metro. They have a great variety.
One of the best croissants we have ever had! Worth waiting in line for. Must go before 8:30am if you want a selection.
The best baked goods I’ve ever had in my life. And I have consumed A LOT of baked goods, from all over the world. And this place still tops my list.
Every time - it’s delicious! Probs could a third register but other than that great. You need to try the specialty bread on Thursday!
So lucky to have the best bakery in Denver near me
Congratulations for baking the best croissants and the bread is heavenly
The bread and the pastries are truly excellent. It's definitely worth waiting in line for.
Last week I was traveling from Florida to Denver on a work/ leisure trip and being that I’m a Sourdough baker, I was told to visit Bakery.four in Denver at their new gorgeous location!!! Let me just say I was absolutely blown away with everything from the streamline minimalist decor, I felt as though I was in a bakery in Copenhagen! Most locals will tell you to get there early! So we arrived at around 9:15 am and waited in line for about 25 minutes! Once we got up to the display area, I ordered two of every pastry, 2 Sourdough country loaves and 4 everything bagels!!!!! Y’all, I was in complete shock, everything was absolutely sensational!!! Every pastry was perfectly proofed, baked and presented!!! I am still dreaming of those gorgeous boxes filled to the rim with incredible handmade pastries!!!!! Thank you so much Bakery.four for all the love, time and dedication you put into everything you create!! Can’t wait to come back and experience it all over again!!!! Sincerely Alexandra Allen
Wild Woman Bakery Gainesville Florida ♥️
Best pastries in Denver, and maybe even better than those I've gotten to sample in Europe! Perfect balance of butter + sweet, with impeccable texture. Always a pleasant experience and well worth the wait. They're even responsive over social media for any pressing questions you might have.
Bakery four is arguably one of the best bakeries we’ve been to in all of our good travels. The quality of ingredients are exceptional and the bakes are terrific. We will continue to go back again and again because we love it so much.
Bakery Four is the BEST bakery in Denver!! Every single bakery item I have tried has been baked to perfection and is incredibly delicious! The croissants and cruffins are my favorites, but you can't go wrong with anything you order!
Bakery Four is easily my favorite establishment in all of Denver. My partner and I live near their old location and are stoked to see them grow into their larger location.
These pastries are unreal. We've tried A LOT of their different options and everything has been amazing. We have gone a couple Fridays recently and try to get in line before 8am just to make sure we get our favorites (aka pain au jambon). It's a bit of an old habit from their previous smaller location. They're able to produce a lot more baked goods at the new spot and it's awesome to be able to stop in hours after they open and snag a treat.
Excited to see to see them continue expanding options...we have yet to stop in for a lunch sandwich but they look amazing!
Bakery Four is incredible, and if you’ve ever driven by, you’ve probably seen the line out the door. It moves surprisingly quickly, and I certainly feel like it is worth the wait. The staff is really kind and efficient.
My personal favorite items are the sausage roll and the herb boule. You cannot go wrong with the pop four or spandauer. Looking forward to trying a drink from their new coffee bar.
Bakery Four has been a fixture of my weekend routine since 2020. Their cruffins made COVID more bearable and the small little shop they had on 32ND was always a bright spot. Their new location is amazing and the pastries continue to be the best in Denver. It’s worth the hype.
I’m giving this a 4 simply because I don’t think Bakery Four is quite there yet.
The overall feel that I had was that I was waiting in a bread line that happened to serve croissants. The bakery isn’t very inviting in its feel. It is a lot of concrete and glass and hardness. Not exactly what I associate with a welcoming bakery or a place I want to hang out.
As for the baked goods, they are very good and probably among the better French baked goods places in the city right now. The bake is just at the edge of overdone as the baker seems to like to cook the edges to edge of burned. The quality of the ingredients which goes into them is obvious. The chocolate in the pain au chocolat is very good. And I loved the cardamom buns.
Worth a stop and I hope as they continue to develop they will step away from the hard concrete environment and create something less stark and more inviting which would make me feel welcome and want to come back again and again.
Completely worth the hype. You won’t find pastries like these anywhere else in Denver. I can’t recommend anything in particular because it is all so good. Friendly, efficient staff even when that morning line is down the block.
We pick up an herb loaf from here weekly. Best ever! You can't really go wrong here...their entire lineup is extremely delicious. Come early or wait until late morning. If there's a line (which there will be), it's worth it.
Bakery Four never fails to deliver the most amazing pastries. Their new location is beautiful and stocked with some other fun treats too. A must visit when in town!
If heaven is a place, this is it. The flaking, delicious pastries are insanely good and I cant get enough. Hot tip: buy extra bagels and/or morning buns and freeze them for extra at home goodness.
We got there at around 8:30am on a Thursday and we waited in line for 20 or so minutes, but it was well worth the wait. We got 4 items: croissant, jambon croissant, pain au chocolate, and a peach pistachio danish and they were all incredibly delicious.
One of the best bagels (if not the best) I've had in my life. Solid selection of pastries too! Would love some more coffee options, but I know that's soon to come.
The hardest part is not walking out with one of everything, but my favorites include all things savory, especially the pan au jambon (spelling!?). Bagels are the best in Denver, hands down. Grab some of their cream cheese while your at it. Happy to see them thriving in the new space. The line is usually long but worth the wait!
Awesome bakery, great pastries and everything is sourdough. My wife is gluten intolerant, but can handle sourdough, so it’s been a game changer to eat more traditional bread and pastries. Favorites are the morning bun and vanilla spandauer.
I recently visited Denver. Bakery 4 was in the neighborhood. I had no idea I had hit the jackpot when visiting. The bakery was unbelievably incredibly wonderful. If I return to Denver I will definitely be back
I’ve enjoyed Bakery Four since it’s tiny shop in West Highlands. Their new location is very spacious and I love all the new pastries and breads they offer!
Love this bakery! You can't go wrong trying any of the sourdough baked goods. Delicious!
We love Bakery Four! It feels like a staple of the neighborhood now, and these pastries can't be beat! Really friendly people and amazing treats! :)
Bakery Four is a weekly treat for us! We love literally everything there - their Cruffins, monkey bread, morning buns, vanilla spandauer's and strawberry pop fours (to name a few). You can't go wrong! Please bring back the birria by the way - that was such a savory delight!
I used to be a pastry cook at one of the top bakeries in the US and can say that Bakery Four's croissants are top 5 I've ever had. The kouign amann is my favorite pastry of all time and BF knocks it out of the park. Hands down one of my favorite spots in Denver and so worth the wait!
I have been going here since the very cold mornings of early 2021 when they were still on 32nd, now they are two blocks from my house and I still enjoy the top tier quality of pastries and service that they have to offer. I have always said that Denver had a disgusting void of patisseries and oh boy does Bakery Four fill it! I cannot wait to see what they do next!
BEST. BAKERY. EVER. Croissants and the Sesame Bread are my favorites. If you aren't going to Bakery Four, your truly missing out on greatness.
Opens only for 2 hours.
Need to wait in line to get in.
High chance of running out of bread before you.
I got lucky to get the last loaf of bread and some bakery goods. They were delicious. Def wait in line for it again.
SOME OF THE BEST BAGELS IN TOWN! The crisp crust and chewy center make it an easy choice but before even taking a bite you look at them and see the full topping coverage! I didn’t know that many poppyseeds or that much everything seasoning could fit on a bagel. Shawn is a master baker and he shows that practice does make perfect because he taught himself how to bake! The croissants have a flakiness that isn’t found anywhere else. Highly recommend if you couldn’t tell. Oh and he adds new creative items weekly, so that’s always something to add to your order!
This place was super yummy! Tried their chocolate chunk cookie and vanilla doughnut. Both were delicious! Can't wait to go back to try more!
We love this spot. It used to be our neighborhood secret on 32nd but they always ran out and we had a hard time getting up in time. Love that they have kept the same quality and upped capacity not too far down the road!
The pastries are delicious, extremely buttery and hold up well if reheated the next day. Iced coffee is a little weak, or is a light medium roast? Lines are like 20 min. long because there is only one register! Please add a second.
I drove 30 minutes and waited in line for 30 minutes on Saturday morning. We tried and loved the pain au chocolat, the chorizo roll, the vanilla spandauer and the everything bagel. I was impressed with the lamination and the quality of ingredients. I thought the prices were reasonable given how superb everything was. Can’t wait to return.
The best bakery I’ve been to in my time in Denver.. you won’t be disappointed. Expect to be in a queue on opening but the line dies down maybe an hour after opening?
Love love love Bakery Four. My only regret the last time was not going earlier (some of the pastries were already sold out). The baguette was perfect for at come caprese sammys
Well worth the long line. Don’t let it scare you, these baked goodies are DYNAMITE. 🔥
The employees were so dang nice and pleasant! 10/10 …
Excellent croissants! Having just come back from France I thought I would not find a good croissant fix in Denver. I was definitely wrong! These are huge, flaky and buttery. They’re not your typical soft croissant but they’re tasty and use quality ingredients you can taste. My fave are the jambon and the pain au chocolat.
Get there early since they sell out super fast.
I live in the neighborhood, so BF is hard to pass up on my walks. Always excellent and love the constantly changing and seasonal additions. Pain au Jambon is fantastic.
Bakery four is amazing. There’s no where else like it in Denver. Unique, high quality pastries. Treat yourself!
So glad that Bakery Four is part of our Tennyson neighborhood! There’s a reason there is often a line, there pastries and bread are off charts good! Especially love the breakfast jamon croissant!!!
Everything here was amazing. They were doing a pop-up at SloHi coffee. We got a chocolate croissant, maple morning bun and a couple hand pies. I highly recommend and will definitely be going back.
Excellent selection of yummy baked goods. The cookies are great and I especially like the cardamom rolls. Highly recommended!!
The bagels are soooo fresh and the morning bun is delicious. Plan to wait in line. Definitely not a quick grab and go place.
Incredible! Visited here 3 times now, and every single item I have gotten has been a 10/10.
The best croissants in Denver! They do sell out pretty quick (by ~9:30am), so make sure to get up early to jump in line — well worth it!
Love the sourdough boule special loaves they make. Incredible! Should be a identified as a whole different food group
My favorite place. Hands down. Just a simple croissant is the way to go, but you can't go wrong with anything on their menu
The most amazing pastries - the cardamom bun is to die for!! And the bread is phenomenal. Honestly everything is incredible! Can’t go wrong here and well worth waiting in line.
Very yummy pastries. Unfortunately, the line is often long. I wish they would take orders from the line to speed things up.
Love love love their kouign amanns, cardamom buns, croissants, pop fours, and cruffins! Well worth getting up early and waiting in line for!
Sunday breakfast sandwiches are great! Just wish the sandwich menu was more consistent / had options.
One of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to and the line from Thursday-Sunday is cult-esque. Worth the wait.
If there’s a line out the door, it’s still well worth the wait. Just wish they’d do baking classes because that would be awesome
Slowly working my way through their extensive menu and haven't found an offering that I didn't love. I'm currently on a 7 week streak, coming back for either a country or porridge loaf. Recently found that I may need to add their pasta to my weekly rotation as well.. Good thing I like carbs.
Everything I buy here is delicious! Highly recommend - definitely come early for the best selection of goodies!
Lovely and delicious croissants and very friendly staff. But it’s really quite frustrating to wait 30 minutes at 8am and for them to be out of two of the two items I actually wanted.
I spend roughly 23 hours a day thinking about croissants, these are the best in Denver. Hands down.
Love their coffee and pastries!! The line is so long sometimes, but so worth it.
Just wish they were open more often
Wonderful Country Bread that paired perfectly with Beef Stew and 1974 Krug Reserve CS among others. Of course I devoured a Cruffin on the way home,
Great stuff. The only place in Denver where you can get a croissant which tastes like a croissant.
Best bakery in town.
Love this place! Serious about bread and pastries. Best in town - no competition!
I have not been, but hear good things. Would be pretty cool if you allowed locals in the Berkeley/Tennyson neighborhood to shop 15 minutes before “opening” or something similar. Locals supporting locals! I live walking distance and am always shopping/eating in the neighborhood.
A pastry experience like no other, the vanilla bean is at the top of my list.... I ordered all of the pastries.... Cardamom was good.... But also holy cardamon
Great bakery. Really hope they add a separate line for coffee/espresso now that they’ve opened that side of the business. Don’t really want to wait in line 45 mins for coffee if not buying pastries
Best pastries and bread I’ve ever had. Friendly and helpful staff. The line scares some people off- it shouldn’t. Worth the wait.
Some of the best bread I’ve had in years - by far best in Denver.
So nice to have a good bakery in the Berkeley/Highlands neighborhood! Try the morning bun and croissant, and get there early because people are usually lined up!
Their morning buns are the best. Not too citrusy and the perfect texture. I look forward to their menu drop each week.
Best bakery around. Amazing croissants, bread and pastries!! Always fresh and delicious.
Better croissants than Tartine in SF. Best baked goods in Denver.
Hands down one of the best bakeries in Denver. Unique pastries & remarkable location. A bread lovers dream
Get the cruffin, regardless of flavor! Always so delicious.
Whoever doesn’t give this place 5 stars is insane! Best bakery in Denver hands down
Delicious... must try the cardamon bun! Their pastries are outstanding! Highly recommend!
The best pastry I’ve ever had!! Obsessed is an understatement :) oh and the bread is probably my favorite thing.
My favorite bakery in Denver! Love everything you make. Definitely worth the wait. Thank you!
Worth the hype, the wait! Wonderful pastry and bread, some of the best I’ve had outside of France! ❤️
Have been several times - this place is amazing! I will say I wish they did more than laminated pastries, but those are to die for so 🤷🏼♀️ …
A MUST visit bakery. Not only is the food always delicious, but they are local and SO creative when it comes to flavors.
My favorite bakery in Denver so far! Love everything I’ve tried there, especially the croissant, kouign aman, and loaves of bread.
Love this place!! Seriously the best bagels I’ve ever had and the friendliest staff!!
The sell out of most things ever day if that tells you anything... If not then maybe the line out the door everyday does. Delicious!
Have driven by many times and there was always a massive line outside. Decided to finally wait today, and it was soooo worth it. Got a handful of pastries and they are all so delicious in their own way. Wow. Would eat here every day if I could :)
Hands down best croissants I have ever had. This place now makes Sammy after 12. If your looking for the best this is the best. I have to say that I have had millions of croissants and none have made it to this level.
I want to go here but you guys really should improve your efficiency…..I don’t know if it lack of finding staff but you should have at least two people on a register checking out and two people boxing goods at all times on Sunday and saturday until you sale out. Also really wish you would open at 7AM. This doesn’t impact quality of product either (it is amazing hence long lines) but just a suggestion to add a mural wall to add some color to the space. It would be a good opportunity to bring a photo op etc and while waiting in a long line it is something to look at.
Loved everything from this bakery so much!! I keep going back for more.
Ok
I went by this bakery a few months back while I was visiting my sons .( it was closed at the time) Then today my son mentioned to me about going there while I’ll be visiting for Mothers Day . I just went on their Instagram page and feel like I already need to get in line!
Then I went to their web page a saw I could be eligible to win a 50$ gift certificate if I left a review . Being a baker and having followed many great bakeries from Tartine to Tandem
One does not necessarily have to taste to tell , I can already taste , just by seeing ! Looking so forward to seeing you guys and tasting next weekend! HAPPY Mothers Day to all Moms
Everything from Bakery Four is amazing. Especially love the bagels and loads of bread.
Great bread and pastries, but they really need a second register and probably a way to let people know what they are out or almost out of so people don't waste 30 mins in line.
(Update: thanks for the reply, I totally get it.
Also, the pain au Chocolat is amazing. Unlike most places, this one actually has plenty of chocolate in it. Really awesome. Thanks!)
First visit after waiting forever. We’ll worth the wait. Helpful staff. Scrumptious pastries- priced fairly. Looking forward to next visit.
Favorite bakery ever!!! Worth getting up early on your day off for some amazing baked goods!
Everything there is delicious. We love the cruffins, morning buns, and everything bagels!!!
The goods here are absolutely outstanding. Come right at open in the morning and they’ll still be warm.
This place’s line and rep is for real. The quality and flavor is consistently outstanding. It’s worth the wait in line. Seriously.
Tiny place, only opens a few days a week and for only 2 hours. I recommend you be there as soon as it opens because they run out of stuff by 9am.
It is TOTALLY WORTH IT!
Amazing bakery. Love the bagels and pastries. Plus super convenient location and spacious. Highly recommend!
Fantastic crusty bread. Bread like bread should be. I’ll be back.
I have been devoted to Bakery Four since last summer. Best croissants and pastries in CO!
I’ve never had anything here that wasn’t amazing. I try to buy stuff for work and it’s gone before I can get there. So good and the new location is awesome!
Some of the best baked goods in Denver, worth the wait!
Staff were very helpful in helping me choose which pastries and bread I wanted. Long line moved quickly and everything was more than worth the wait.
Amazing place for baked goods but be ready to wait in line.
Always worth the wait in line! Both the sweet and the savory pastries at Bakery Four are amazing!
There are two things I am willing to wake up for early in the morning - one is a flight to a warm and tropical destination, the other is Bakery Four. Six our of five stars. This is the best bakery in the Mountain Region, and top bakery in the country.
best bakery ever. we love everything we’ve tried and will be back again soon!
Everything I’ve tried is the best pastry I’ve ever eaten!
An absolute must visit spot on Tennyson street! Come hungry and buy enough that you won’t be sad once you’ve downed your first pastry.
great morning bun! And chill staff vibes.
Be sure to arrive early if you want a loaf of bread- they sell out!
Besides being the best Bakery in Denver that I have told at least a dozen people about as a "MUST GO TO" place that has amazing bakery culinary goodies that tantilizes the palate and whatever the Cardamom Bun is with fresh ground cardamom and Isigny butter is just top shelf culinary yumminess, I think that Bakery 4 just might make it.
Really in my top 3 bakeries I recommend to everyone in my life.
We loved the chocolate chip cookie and the cheese pastry. The next time I want to try the Croissant.
Great breads and pastries. Consistent, friendly, outstanding quality. Back soon and often.
Best pastries, long line . Worth it but expect an hour of line time
So good every single time.
Best croissants I’ve ever had. Perfectly fluffy, buttery, flavorful and flakey. Obsessed.
Best bakery ive ever seen in any part of usa.
Bakery Four is awesome! Great lattes and pastries!
The only bakery in town that I would wait in line for over an hour at 7am… simply the best.
Without a doubt the best pastries I've ever had! There's a reason you'll see a huge line forming long before 8am on weekends- do your self a favor and get there early and be prepared to wait, it'll be so worth it! I make the trip down from Fort Collins just for their croissants, there's no where else I'd want to go.
Best Bakery in Colorado!! There are not enough words to describe how incredible the pastries are at this bakery!!
This is an amazing bakery. The owner puts his heart and souls into delivering a quality product and it shows. I highly recommend the morning buns. They are light and fluffy and have amazing flavor and texture. If you get a chance this is a must try bakery!
Great atmosphere, delicious croissants and exquisite danish.
Can’t wait to try it again!
This bakery is so good! I love the morning buns.i had the orange one. It was delicious! The croissants are buttery and creamy and flakey, if that’s even possible. I also tried the bread and already have an order in for the holidays! Wonderful.customer service as well. Thank you for coming into my life!!
We have traveled the world, and we are delighted to have a world class bakery on Tennyson Street! So amazing!
Pastries and baguettes rival some of the best I had the pleasure to consume in Paris!
Probably the best croissant I’ve ever put in my mouth
Love all the baked goods. The baguette is as good as Paris.
Delicious 😋
Worth the wait.
Don't go here if you cannot wait in line for at least a half hour. …
Absolutely love Bakery Four!!! Flaky, delicious goodness!
Delicious and worth the wait! The layers on the croissant were mesmerizing.
I've enjoyed a lot of baked goods in my life and this has to be one of the best things I have ever eaten... The Croissant should literally be the picture in the dictionary - its unbelievable...like no joke - I sat there pulling each layer apart in amazement - butter in solid form - just...its worth every gluten allergy, keto diet, Colorado hyped diet plan/ workout - do yourself a favor and just break whatever you're doing and enjoy this life pleasure! The cardamom bun...don't you dare! Not even a fan of cardamom but it was religious!! Lots of places get hype purely based on lack of inventory but honestly this place is worth every bit of hype!! Y'all deserve all the success and cant wait for the new spot to open!
Love everything I have had from this little bakery! Great variety of savory and sweet.
Some of the best pastries I’ve ever had!
Unbelievable pastries! Maybe the best croissant I’ve had in Denver. Just wish they had the capacity to make more on a daily basis!
Hey Micheal Logoyda, you really gave this establishment 2 stars for a long line, ruining their 5 star rating? We’re in the middle of a pandemic and they are working to ensure the safety of their customers (and you) by abiding by social distancing protocols. Grow up Peter Pan.
Best bagels around and that's coming from a jersey boy!
These might be the best croissants I have ever had. The morning buns remind me of Tartine in S.F., and the bread reminds me of my childhood (which is amazing). If you find them at a pop-up or Farmers Market in Denver, definitely give them a try!!
Best Pastries I’ve ever had in my life!Always coming up with new creations to keep things interesting. I tell everyone about it. However, I should probably stop, so I can have more for myself. Visit if you haven’t yet. Just be sure to show up early!
Light and flaky pastries. I recommend the morning buns, regular and ham croissants.
Love this spot. Def worth worth the 30 min line on a Saturday morning.
They have a great variety and everything is delicious. Great coffee too!
The best bakery in Denver (probably Colorado). Everything is delicious!
I used to think my 2-year-old didn’t like bread. It turns out that she ONLY likes fresh bread from bakery four.
Best bakery in denver! Everything is done so perfectly well.
The pastries here are insanely good. Well worth the early rise, so so so good
Best bakery in denver - you will not be disappointed
Didn’t want to love you - but I have no choice. You had me at ‘hello croissant.’ These are stellar pastries! Can’t wait to see what else they come up with.
Amazing spot - the bread is the absolute best, the bagels are delicious, and the pastries hit the spot!
Very tasty. Get here quickly as they run out fast.
Favorite bakery in Denver. Bread and pastries are equally delicious.
Best addition to the West Highlands, an incredible local bakery with the most delicious fresh bread that can be used for breakfast, lunch or dinner, mouth watering pastries that taste like you are in Paris and pasta reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside! Bread pick ups and weekend pastries have become our weekly tradition with our daughter and most anticipated times!
Every bite was almost better than the last. You have to try this place!
The New Yorker in me refuses to stand in any line but this one. Out of this world pastries. Dominique Ansel meets that local little pastry shop in France or Italy. Fresh, decadent, mouth watering. I’ll camp out in front of this place again and again if I have to. Please bring back your passion fruit cruffin!
Outstanding bread with lovely developed crust , dark and Carmel tasting!
Bakery Four is amazing. It's always worth a stop in.
We love coming here!! It's so delicious.
DELICIOUS!! Totally worth the wait. I got there 20m before opening and there was a small line, but it got pretty long by opening! Always interested in trying new bakeries and the croissants and morning buns were great!
Airy, flaky and legit. Can’t even wait till I got a cup of coffee.
Delicious treats, warm atomosphere and kind staff. Everything made to perfection!
Well worth the wait in line. It doesn’t matter what you get, you’ll leave happy.
Amazing bakery, delicious breakfast sandwich
This bakery is next level, favorite Ham & Cheese croissant in Denver!
Best bakery in the highlands by far. The owner goes out of his way to make a truly outstanding product & the line reflects that. The most in demand pastry in denver for good reason!
So delicious and the baked goods are beautiful!

So glad they’re selling Sweet Bloom coffee beans - and now even decaf beans!

Phenomenal pastries!
Well worth the wait! Everything tastes amazing-especially love the chocolate croissant and the morning bun
Always a great selection and high quality. Never disappointed!

Unreal.
Best pastries ever!

Amazing breads and pastries, obsessed with the morning buns.
Best croissant I've ever had
Absolutely, positively deserves the hype
Everything is delicious
10/10 every time
Good bread
Fantastic!
Amazing!! Just amazing!!!
Absolutely incredible
The most buttery, perfect pastries. The cruffins and cardamom bun are out of this world. Everyone has been so nice and they have a really great system to handle the lines. We feel so lucky to be close by!
Amazing bakery. Great fresh pastries and croissants. My go to place on the weekends.
Delicious bakery. But the line is insane and they only have 1 register. Get a second register guys, please!! We love your pastries, but there IS a solution to make it less painful. Kinda feels like they want to keep the line long just for the hype...
Truly the best bakery in Denver! Everything is delicious, and the coffee is great too. Definitely partial to the Oreo cruffin :)
Enjoyed a morning pastry and a half loaf of sandwich bread. Also had an excellent mocha with Vallrona (sp?) chocolate!
The best pastries!
Best in town
I’ve got blue balls from the blueberry poptart
The best bakery in town. The Oreo cruffin is by far the most amazing thing I’ve ever eaten. The staff is also very friendly.
Came here Friday morning around 930. Line was about up the ramp and took about 30 min.
Great open space. Reasonably priced coffee. They use Califia oat milk for milk alternative.
VANILLA BEAN SPANDAUER is delicious with a nice light custard in the middle.
Cardamom bun is good but light on cardamom flavor.
One of the few bakeries that have kouign amann.
By far the best bakery in Colorado!!! Yes, I said Colorado. They’re sourdough bread worth the half an hour wait in line for.
@bakeryfour thank you for being existing
I’ve been looking for a bakery with handmade pastries since I moved here, and I found it! This place is incredible and the staff is so sweet. 👩🍳 🥐
The only thing I don’t like is that you have to wait 30+ minutes in line because there isn’t a to go system.
To management: As a marketing gal I understand keeping the hype alive but it makes me not want to visit if I have to wait so long. Us customers will happily pay an online order surcharge for convenience 💗
Overall please visit this place it’s amazing!
Bakery 4 is world class but feels like it belongs in the neighborhood. One of my absolute favorite places in the city. You should really go, please DO take my word for it.
(Translation) It's incredible. You will believe that you are in France in a magnificent bakery. The croissants are terrific. Everything they have is really delicious.
(Original)
C'est incroyable. Vous vous croirez que vous êtes en France dans une boulangerie magnifique. Les croissants sont formidables. Tout ce qu'ils ont est vraiment délicieux.
