This place has a charming aesthetic. The staff are patient and very helpful! I had the best donut of my life here! (Blueberry cheesecake) They had 3 gluten free donuts that my friend thought were very tasty!

Best gluten free donuts I've ever had (and my gluten eating companion says they are the best donuts she's had in general). Whatever recipe they use for their icing is incredible. I also got a latte and it's very good, especially since it's 9 degrees out right now. Highly highly recommend, especially if you are staying at the Hotel Versey since it's right around the corner. Go here instead of Starbucks!

They currently have (2) two vegan options The Cinnamon Sugar Vegan Special Recipe donut and the Vegan Chocolate donut. Both are absolutely amazing and fluffy. Definitely recommend.

seriously some really good donuts. got the specialties half dozen and came out to about $20, but worth it. out of all the ones i’ve tried, please get their red velvet. honestly they were all great. pictures are the maple longhorn, buttercream bismark, lemon pistachio old fashioned, red velvet, apple cider, toffee cake. apple cider was my first apple cider donut ever and man are they good. toffee cake tastes JUST like a samoa and the maple long john wasn’t too sweet and had a rich maple flavor. buttercream bismark was loaded up with a light fluffy cream and the lemon pistachio is great for someone who wants something more refreshing, definitely a bit more lemon than pistachio but still good.

Stan donut has a various range of donuts such as raised donuts, old fashioned donuts and cake donut with diverse flavors. They even have gluten free options. They are the most diverse donut place in Chicago and you will be surprised by the diversity in donuts flavors and models. But why not 5 stars? They really need to reduce the sugar consumption in their donuts and train their staff. I have tried the following flavors so far: - Lemon Espresso: If you enjoy the combination of freshness of citrus flavor and espresso aroma you will enjoy this one! - Blueberry Cheesecake: If you like cheese danish you will enjoy this one for sure. The blueberry jam is too sweet but overall it is tasty. - Boston cream: Great! Very safe option even if you want to buy donut for someone you don’t know much ;) most of the people enjoy it. highly recommend! - Danish donut almond cream: If you cannot get enough of almond and chocolate in your life try this one - Pistachio: Don’t recommenced! This is only a green icing without pistachio :(

Your typical Stan’s Donuts, very consistent and delicious! I had to make a review of this particular location as the service I have experienced today were fantastic! There were about 3, 4 people in line for service, and the girl in the back notice the line and without anyone telling her to, she started to approach people in line and assisting us with orders while the cashier sorts out the payments. Did I mention she did all that with a genuine smile and super polite! We need more of that in this world! Good job girl! This 5 stars is for you! We were there around 4:30pm.

They have 3 type of donuts - the standards, specialties and dough boy’s best. Price range from $1.95 to $3.75 and I think for the size of donuts price is ok. Location of that shop is perfection. On the weekends however you want to get there before noon at least or you’re running into situation where assortment could be pretty slim. Biggest problem in that place is the staff and the service. Half the time I go there the staff is more interested in the conversation with their co staff rather than listening to the order . On 3 different occasion I got home only to find out that I have wrong donuts in my bag. Last time the person who took my order handed my order to cashier who then gave my order to people in front of me ? ! Good donuts, great location but service needs improvement.

Cool place! There was a wide variety of donuts on display in their glass case at the front. The lemon pistachio old fashioned and toffee crunch donuts both looked amazing, but were very very very sweet (too sweet). If they could dial back the amount of glaze that would make them better. But, the coffee was hot and fresh! I probably won’t go out of my way to come here, but it wasn’t bad!

Hands down the best tasting donuts in Chicago! Definitely try the banana filled salted caramel. The flavors here are so unique. All the donuts are soft, the fillings are creamy, and you'll never have a stale old donut to eat. These guys take pride in their product. The staff is super friendly and keeps their dining area clean all the time. I will never go back to Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy Kreme donuts ever.

The peanut butter banana pocket was absolutely amazing! We also had the pumpkin spice old-fashioned and a blueberry fritter that were equally delicious. It was very busy when we went but we were able to get in and out quickly. Staff was friendly and the place appeared to be clean which is always good to see. Thanks for the great donuts!!

Mmmmm, I love me some donuts. I prefer cream filled Bismark. They were sweet and fluffy soft. The coffee was way to bitter, I tossed it out. But you come for the donuts and they delivered... UP DATE...7-1-22... Tried a cold blended coffee since I found hot coffee to be yucky. Well, for a 12 ounce size I'm guessing about 4ounces coffee, and the rest milk@sugar syrup! It was ungodly sweet. So between sweet donut and too sweet coffee? I threw half of each of them away. I guess Dunkin is the way to go. Just right coffee, and smaller (yet ok donut). I mean, I have a "sweet tooth", but even too sugary for me.

Vegan doughnuts!!! The other day, I bought 2 vegan doughnuts for my dad, who is not vegan, and he was shocked when I told him that they were vegan because they are so good!!! I wish Stan’s would go 100% vegan ... no one would know the difference and no animals would be harmed. Please go cruelty-free, Stan’s!!! XOXO

OMG... these donuts are so yummy! Totally worth the high price that you will pay for them. The quality of the donuts are top notch! I even ordered a coffee to go with the donuts and it was brewed so well. The young lady at the counter was very helpful in picking out my donuts. I didn't stay in the location to eat my donuts but I plan on going back when it gets warm out to talk some family members that have never been.

When out of town always try and patronize local businesses. Had a choice of Starbucks or Stans donuts. Choose Stan's because of large franchises are over priced. Well my wife and I sat down and she ordered 2 coffee's at $2.89,special donut $3.99, 1 standard donut $1.99 Total price should of been 10.90. Wife came back to table and I asked are how much she said $16.80. I said for what!!!!! Did they give you the F-you donut? Lol .Had to go up and get my refund!!!

Good donuts. A bit overpriced in my opinion. $3-$4 for a donut a bit too much, but they do have flavors, that I haven't seen in other places. So if you don't mind spending ~$10 on a coffee break def try it out.

Cream filled Paczkis on Fat Tuesday! Otherwise, just pick one- you'll be happy. Especially if you pick a Biscoff or Nutella Banana Pocket. Their diner decor is bright and nostalgic. Free wifi!

The staff person was nice and friendly. The donut tasted more processed, like there was more salt added to it to preserve it. It was not fresh. I was told they no longer sold the Cinnamon Pretzel, which was my favorite. I was disappointed after craving Stan's Donut for months.

Gourmet donuts abound! Almost any donut you can imagine (or would want to imagine) can be found here. Also, get a donut milkshake, it's one of the best things I've ever eaten. Not so big on their coffee, but haven't tried much of it yet.

I had a toasted pretzel bagel with onion and chive cream cheese and it was perfect. It was my first time getting something from here but I will definitely be back. I especially live how perfectly soft the bagel was and the fact that it wad not overly salted. The aged joy of being able to have a non sweet cream cheese was just icing on the cake. The other many options also looked great but im not big on sweets and had sweet coffee from Starbucks.

Stan's Donuts is great. I originally went there because my dad was the king of donuts and his name was Stan. After having they are pistachio old fashioned donut and enjoying a nice cup of handcrafted coffee I am a fan. They do a nice job and their service is above average. The facility is very clean and a nice bright energy to say the least. Go enjoy.

Stan's is my personal favorite. Don't let the price tag fool you, these donuts are on the pricier side but they are very filling and flavorful (so one donut should satisfy). They are also among the best that I've had. The only downside is that you'll never again be able to eat a donut from Dunkin' without being a little disappointed that it's not a Stan's donut. But hey, I don't consider that to be a bad thing...

Excellent service, knowledgeable and patient. Donuts are a bit yeasty for my personal taste so I won't go that often, but the flavors do sing. The place is clean and bright, and I appreciate the free water to wash down all the sugar.

Wonderful doughnut place with excellent staff. I'm never disappointed when I go. Coffee options can be little expensive but a good buttermilk bar needs to be dipped in coffee so you bite the bullet. They've recently remodeled and the space is even larger. Plenty of seating and very clean.

Come here just about once a week, always pleased. Lots of donut and bagel options. The employees are always super friendly, and if you go enough they'll chat a bit more with you which is nice. The fancy donuts are quite expensive, but they are quite fancy and decadent. Never had coffee here, but I'm sure it's nothing worse than, say, Dunkin Donuts, i.e., it gets the job done. I do want to try the ice cream shakes and stuff one day.

We used this Stans location to cater mini donuts in for our wedding, and it was a HUGE success. At the end of the night, our dessert table was cleared with lots of happy people going home with mini bags of Stan's donuts!! The delivery was on time, and the presentation was awesome!! When we first came in, the customer service we received to pick out our flavors was amazing, and we had a great time. We highly recommend using Stan's donuts to cater your next event, or use it for a creative alternate wedding dessert choice... your guests will LOVE it! Thank you Stan's Donuts!

I decided to share my experience about the new location which is housed on Chicago Ave, one block off of Chicago Ave/North Michigan . I went to this location on Monday, June 10, 2019 around 8:30 pm . There were plenty of different types of doughnuts left to chose from, I say this because I have gone to other locations at night and the variety was limited. The place was clean, service was fast the cashier and guy behind the counter were pleasant. The doughnut I purchased were two Chocolate Cake Sprinkles and they we’re the best! Chocolate is so rich, cake was light and fluffy, nice size for the price which runs around 3.00 and something cents. Other doughnut places you go to, you are put in a position to eat the doughnuts right away because they lose their freshness quick. I was able to enjoy the second one - the next day and it was able to keep it’s freshness!!! The price of a doughnuts is pretty expensive but to enjoy every once in while is a nice treat. Plus, I am glad to have chosen and purchase a doughnut I can enjoy; tried the glazed doughnut and I am not a fan of the type of glaze they use, this can be another reason why I am not a frequent guest of this Stan Doughnut Shop. I will return and maybe try a different one or stick with the chocolate ones instead.

Stopped in for a cup of coffee and to sample a donut. My donut was crispy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. It was the perfect texture for a donut. I also got a cup of coffee that was spot on, but my friend's macchiato was a little off. It won't stop us from visiting again and trying more donuts though!

I enjoyed my quick stop at this donut place, loved the donuts and coffee are good.. the staff we’re ok, I guess they had long weekend work because of St. Patrick’s day celebration a day ago. We walk in late afternoon so the donuts rack were almost empty but I still got my favorite biscoff pocket with banana which I can’t get enough off. The washroom wasn’t as clean busy day for this shop most likely. But I enjoyed my donut and coffee!

Great donuts. Got the Nutella banana donut fresh in the morning at 7am. Delicious. Was later impressed by their gelato. They make their own. Very tasty, even though they don't have any flavors beyond vanilla and chocolate. Coffee is great. Friendly and laid back staff. Bright diner vibe.

The donuts and coffee are WOW good! I love the draft La Colombe cold brew coffee, the different stuffed pocket donuts (nutella, bananas, peanut butter, etc.)are delicious, the boston creme is my favorite, my spouse’s favorite is the apple fritter, and the vanilla and chocolate sprinkle donuts are bomb. I never had coffee out of a keg until I went to Stan’s! I LOVED IT!! The prices are a little up there $2-$4 for a donut but I guess that is the price for a premium donut!

Good donuts. They have 3 vegan options as of this review. However, they are made in the same frier, etc. as the other donuts soo..not so vegan outside of the ingredients. But other good tasting donuts nonetheless.

Was not our initial destination for breakfast, but happily ended up here anyways. A tab pricier than your average coffee chain, but worth it for the above average food. Coffee was good, got chocolate was rich and creamy, and baked goods were delicious!

There wasn't much of line when we went at 9 am on a weekend day. It's quite small on the inside too with seating for 4 tables. There's a bathroom too. I went here bc my bf raved about their donuts, and I think it's good too with nothing to complain about, but I've had better as I have developed preferences in my donut tasting journey. We tried the plain glaze yeast donut, chocolate glaze yeast donut, and blueberry old fashioned donut. I only didn't like the blueberry one bc the glaze on top was a bit too sweet for my liking but I know others don't mind and loved it. It was a mad rush to pick the donuts too bc you can't really see the donuts behind the glass pane until you're near the cash register.

I have been here several times, either to pick up donuts for home or to eat donut and coffee inside. The best thing about this location is that you can smell the donuts and coffee few blocks away! They have three separate price levels for the donuts, glazed donuts are the cheap ones, followed by old fashioned and then cream and Nutella filled donuts and so on. If you want to taste donuts that tastes better than Dunkin’ Donuts or Krispy Creme, and if you are willing to pay a little more; then this is the right place to come to.

Ugh. I love Stan's. Especially the chocolate sprinkle cake donut and their homemade old-fashioned sodas. One of the baristas used to make it perfectly. My only thing would be, last time I went and ordered one, I wanted it to be made in store but the kid behind the counter (could be new) had me just buy one from the pop cooler. That made me sad. Maybe they don't make sodas in house anymore. Either way, Stan's is a great place. Their food is very good.

Demi's service was impeccable. I stood at the mobile pick up counter for a handful of minutes. every one was so busy they didn't even address it. I finally asked the man at the register about my online order for an iced latte.... that's when Demi hopped in and saved the day. she also recommended using the Stans app for busy days, I will do that next time! Thanks Demi!

There are soooo many donuts to choose from! I wish there were labels and a menu of descriptions for all the different types would have really helped. When the staff member quickly recited the names, I couldn't remember and lost count of the number of times he had to repeat them. The cakey Chocolate Covered Donut was so unique and divine! I have never had a donut like it before. I wasn't a fan of the Vanilla Cream filled donut, the whipped cream filling was meh. Surprisingly, the hot Mocha was delicious! Glad to see Stan's stores around the city and not Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme. I can see why Stan's is the staple for donuts in Chicago. Might be back to try a new flavor!

They have a large variety of donuts, bagels, & gelato. My coffee was perfect. The staff was nice & courteous. It's small & probably hard to maneuver during busy times, but the classic Chicago hex tile, cleanliness, & kitchey decor make up for that.

I first off want to say this place was phenomenal. The young man who worked the morning of July 6th was so professional for what he endured. I was visiting from Atlanta when i stopped in. A customer a few transactions before me was out of line, complaining from what i caught as this place being over priced. I was baffled at the customer who got his name and I'm assuming manager's number. From my stance, DO NOT take this customer's complaint seriously. That was a joke. I would highly recommend this place .

I was never a fan of Donut until I tried Stan's. They have huge variety of donuts and usually run out of donuts by evening on Saturday especially during summer. Apart from donuts, I also recommend their chai latte.

Well I waited FOREVER for them to open.Big let down.Good but then it's what they do, donuts right? Trouble is they are too expensive and only use dark chocolate which I hate. What's up with that. Having said that, I guess for the money they should be better. The Wicker Park location seemed better a few years ago when I was there.

This is definitely a place you run in and out of for a sugary breakfast on the go. The coffee is pretty bad, but the donuts are good so it's like the equal and opposite equivalent of Dunkin Donuts but way more pretentious.

Even if you think the line is a little long. Get in that line! The donuts are fantastic and the staff makes their way through the line pretty fast. It takes a minute to get a coffee bar drink if it's busy but a caramel macchiato is well worth it if you've got time!

Don't bother to waste your time going here after 9am on a Friday because they will be sold out of all the normal donuts, thanks to corporate tools in Lakeview/Lincoln Park that need to impress their so-called colleagues, but who can't spend some time picking a variety. The only Stan's that keeps a reasonable stock is on Damen in Wicker Park, but that's if you have all morning to drive to the west side. And it's going to take all morning, trust me, especially after you already tried 2 locations. Consistency and reliability matter.
