My friend bought my birthday cake from here. I had never tried anything they have made before, and I was definitely not disappointed. The icing on this cake was thiiiccc and absolutely amazing. The flavor of the cake was a little different than what I have tasted in a yellow cake before, but that is NOT a complaint. Bottom line, if you have not had anything from this place yet, you need to make that happen. You will not regret it!

Rock City Cake Company made our wedding cake and cupcakes for our wedding in October. Our wedding cake was Wedding Cake flavor and we went with fall flavors for our mini cupcakes. We had Pumpkin Spice, Caramel Apple Crumble, and Butter Pecan cupcakes. They were absolutely delicious and looked beautiful. They delivered our cake and cupcakes to the venue and were not only on-time but were early. We left our cake topper, flowers, cake stand, and cupcake trays on the table and they took care of the rest. My and my mother come to RCCC a few times a week and spend good money on great product! They are always polite and friendly. And even though we have a favorite or two, they are all great! Some items seem a little pricey, but TRUST ME when I say this....it is DEFINITELY worth every dollar!

From the outside ,it just looks like your typical building. Inside is a whole other experience. Beer, coffee , Rock venue, chill place ,rock and Roll all over! The pastries are amazing. Great and friendly staff. Reasonably priced! To many choice for just one visit.

They definitely rock!!!! The business is also kind to our community. They have agreed to be a drop off site for the Christmas Sock Drive for the homeless. Please drop off a new pair before 12/22 & I will personally deliver them to the local shelters

Fat female here Look it's been over a year since I last had anything from here and they just weren't as good as I remember. The cases didn't have nearly as many tasty treats and they were out of a lot. I used the restroom and it was out of paper towels, the toilet and sink were dirty, soap was on the counter as old and kinda dry and new soap drops, also the light switch didn't have a cover. The cookies that I bought had the same icing taste from a bakery back home so that made me question things.

I’m giving Rock City 3 stars because I went in there today with my 2 kids a first time customer and came out a little disappointed. I was hoping to get an order made for my sons bday party next week on the 8th and that’s literally 8 days away from today. The woman told me I needed to give them a 2 weeks in advance in the future and that there was no way she could make it by next week. She even told me she’s made what I was requesting before as if it was so easy but clearly not easy enough to have it done by next week. When I walked out I told both ladies to have a nice day and they said nothing back, I felt zero welcoming arms. The only thing that felt welcoming was how decorated the place was, because it is very flashy and colorful and filled with art. One of my reasons for giving them 3 stars. And of course their yummy cupcakes looking like they’re on steroids. I even purchased several cupcakes because I wanted to make the experience good for me and my children who barely ever go to Charleston anymore. I think in the future the ladies there should greet their customers more and next time don’t push away what could’ve been a future customer.

Absolutely fantastic addition to the Charleston scene. Delicious doesn't even begin to describe the quality of their baked goods. Plus they get creative with it! And the venue they house is just incredible! Nothing I love more than live music topped off with a cupcake at the end of the night. They serve alcohol but the crowd is always polite and fun. It's so nice to see a modern spin with two great purposes.

Best cupcakes ever! They are flavorful, light, airy and melt in your mouth. I originally bought 6 but went back a hour later and bought a dozen. All the flavors are delicious. The atmosphere is nice and so are the employees. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves delicious desserts.

The pastries are delicious and well made, and the employees have been friendly every time I have been in. The atmosphere is fun, and there are plenty of places to sit and hang out. The addition of the used bookstore by the entrance adds another reason for me to want to drop in for a quick visit. The concerts held here are fantastic and show a great selection of music.

I love that they are making use of a historic downtown store front. The inside is decorated with nostalgic music theme with different spaces to enjoy your treat. I would give it five stars but they are still reimagining this space. I have not got back yet but when I do I hope to see even more choices. Not your chain store experience.

Aside from the delicious and creative treats, the atmosphere that is unique and engaging, and a staff that is sweet as pie (pardon the pun!), Rock City is an enormous community contributor. They have supported other small businesses in Charleston and have single-handedly raised tens of thousands of dollars for people struggling. I can't name another business that has so thoughtfully contributed to the community in such impactful ways.

Don't let the name fool you. This may be a cake and pastry shop by day, but it's an excellent live music venue by night. It has an awesome vibe and cozy feel. The layout is pretty cool with a loft seating area and open dance floor. It a hidden gem.

Love this place wholeheartedly! It would be a 5 star, but unfortunately there is a very mean spirited young blonde girl working the counter on occasion when we visit. Have sincerely never seen a smile, and felt as though she was bothered by our being there. Customer service skills need some work!

Love the atmosphere and the goodies. Not only do they have the most mouthwatering sweets, but they also have fun themes. For instance: yesterday was wizarding Wednesday where they had snitch cookies, sorting hat and butterbeer cupcakes, and unicorn cake pops. Obviously I stopped by as soon as I heard. The store is a superb small business and an asset for the City of Charleston.

We ordered our cake with no problems.. It was delicious, I would recommend looking at there cakes for birthdays ect.. When you go on to pick up you're cake you never walk out with just a cake, there's a big case of different sweets..

Unique bakery that has a large assortment of sweet goodies. We love many of their baked goods, especially the cake balls, and brownies. We’ve had everything from chocolate covered fruit to a custom Doctor Who blue velvet cake. Everything is usually fantastic. Highly recommend stopping in early if you’re in the downtown area. Morgan and her crew are highly involved in the community and provide wonderful service.
