Whats not to love? A wide selection of authentic sweet and savory buns available at a very affordable price. I got the pork bun, the pastry was fluffy and light, while the pork was sweet and tender. A perfect combo!

This is the best bakery ever!! Everything is so fresh and so much thought and attention to detail is put in to the basked goods. My roommate and I treat ourselves to morning light any chance we get, we have tried 5 of the tea flavors and probably 10 different pastries. We have been so impressed time and time again. The cashier is so knowledgable and friendly he helped us decide what we should try and was so kind. I can't recommend Morning Light highly enough. (bonus, ask for the punch card for a free bubble tea every 10th time). A few of our favorites are the taro bun, pineapple bun, mango mochi, and green tea swiss roll, as well as the taro tea, and the messy bubble milk tea. Morning Light is an absolute gem of a bakery to have here in Vermont. They are so friendly, the food is so good, and their drinks are delicious. Regardless of how long it’s been in-between visits they always remember my name and some of my regular ordered items. There are times when they slip extra bakery items in my bag, which is not at all expected or necessary, but shows how generous and kind they are as a business. I’m so grateful they exist here in Vermont! Everything is good here but some of my favorites: pineapple bun, hot dog bun, spicy pork belly bao, classic bubble milk tea (with mango popping bubbles), mango pudding, and any of their speciality cakes!

This is a small family shop run by amazingly kind and talented people! Everything you try here is delicious. They have sweet treats, savory goodies, and the best bubble tea in Vermont. All savy Winooski locals have a Morning Light loyalty stamp card floating around in their wallet. And for a good reason!! Morning Light is highly worth the stop every time.

This is a very good Asian bakery. Better quality than any I've been to in any K-town or Chinatown in any city. The sweet pastries aren't overly sweet, the mochi is amazing and the service is super friendly. Can't say enough good things about this bakery!

These folks went above and beyond for me. They bent over backwards to make sure I got the passionfruit cheesecake I wanted in time for a very special event. The dessert was a hit, and the person of honor (a cheesecake connoisseur) said it was the best he had ever had. Went in for buns and boba. Buns were so good we went back for seconds. Highly recommend ham and cheese. Cashier was very kind and joyful. I'm typically hesitant with giving 5 stars and this place easily deserves one.

I’ve been to this place 3 times, and every time I’ve walked in I am greeted with smiles, patience and gratitude. The people are extremely friendly and helpful, especially if you are new. The place smells great and the prices are also extremely reasonable as well. I would definitely recommend a visit.

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about this place! Their food and drinks are all delicous, and very reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and fast, and in all the many times I have been here they have never once made a mistake with my order. My only "complaint" is that they sometimes run out of things if you get there too close to closing, but I almost see that as a positive because it's a result of their food always being fresh (and good to know that they arent wasting food!)

The buns are legit and remind me of the ones you would find in Chinatown’s. Picture is the cocktail (coconut) and roast pork buns. I also got a don tot (egg custard). The don tot could have used more filling and less crust. The filling also was a bit more on the creamier side texture wise. My only concern with this place is location, as there isn’t really any parking options. I suppose you could park across the street at winooski beverage and walk over.

Staff are very friendly, great pastries! I highly recommend the wife cake if you're not looking for something too sweet. It has winter melon in it, which is like a thick piece of jelly kind of thing. It's considered more like a veggies, but it's a little bit on the sweet side. I think the passion fruit tea could have used a little bit of sugar, but it's probably best to be healthy without it 😊

In my opinion, Morning Light has best bubble tea and buns around, and if you haven’t tried buns before, you’ve gotta try these!! They’re super tasty with really delicious fillings and these perfect soft exteriors. I travel past the other bubble tea places just to come here. Also, their customer service is fantastic and it’s a really cute place to sit down or go for a walk. Side bonus- looking for something nice to do? Pick up a bubble tea and bun here and go for a walk along the winooski river walk or the natural area right down the block : )

After a few visits I have to say this place exceeds expectations. Their buns are incredibly fluffy, delicious, and filling. Their drinks are all flavorful and satisfying. I reccomend stopping in on a weekend for their bubble waffles. Easily the best way to cap off a sunday brunch.

Excellent service, have almost tried every bun and can recommend them all except the hotdog bun (but I'm not really a fan of hotdogs). Would strongly recommend the Belly Boa and an iced coffee with bubbles. This is exactly the kind of business that makes this town a better place.

Morning Light is the best bakery. They are so friendly, everything is fresh and delicious. The red bean buns, pineapple buns, and pork buns are amazing, but there are so many other delicious items on the menu as well. And did I mention boba?! The bubble tea is so good.

Super nice people! My fiance and I tried a bunch of buns (my favorite was the curry chicken and the pork floss scallions), mochi, green tea swiss cake, and Hong Kong milk tea. Everything was great and I especially loved the tea. The bun fillings were delicious, but also the bun itself. It was chewy and soft.

First time visiting VT, I ordered a strawberry sponge cake, pineapple bun, curry chicken bun, coconut bun, coconut bun, and ham & cheese bun from this bakery. All of the items were very delicious and more than reasonably priced for the quality. I especially loved how the strawberry cake wasn't feverishly sweet, just the perfect amount. The man who answers the phone and the window at the store was nice and made ordering everything easy. If you're visiting VT, try some treats from here!!

Be still my heart!!! Subtle and wonderful tastes and textures. A generous serving of perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked melt-in-your-mouth pork belly in a soft, freshly steamed bao bun with cucumber, lettuce and cilantro--all super duper fresh. The freshest sesame red bean rice ball I've ever had, and a delightful unsweetened (on request) coconut bubble tea. All served up in 2 minutes by exquisitely sweet folks

Absolutely amazing and refreshing teas! My favorite is the strawberry milk tea with the strawberry popping Bubba! Their roasted pork buns are amazing! They are a lot like Bao buns, just like the Chinatown area in my hometown! The customer service is also always amazing! I'm really busy and go there for a midday pick me up and I know I'll always be greeted with a smile!

Awesome little bakery! We are so lucky to have this family owned bakery in Vermont. I love the buns, cakes and mochi. My favorite sweet buns are pineapple, coconut and taro. I could eat one every week! The young man that works the counter is so polite and helpful it is always a pleasure to go there. If you are worried about going out for food in the pandemic, you can call ahead and place your order. They have a pass through window at their door so you don't have to go inside. You can tell they really care about their customers.

Not only was the food incredible, but the service was above and beyond. I had parked far away and asked them to hold my things and I'd bring my car closer. I was almost to my car and heard someone yell behind me. The son of the family had brought my stuff to me, no jacket, in 25 degree weather so I didn't have to make another trip!! I will be a regular now! All of the sweet buns I had tried were delicious (red bean, coconut, pineapple, cream). The egg tarts are AMAZING! I also tried the pork belly and pork/vegetable bao. SO GOOD!! Prices are beyond reasonable. Spend your money there and support this family!

A MUST visit for tourists and locals alike! Far beyond a quick pop-up Boba shop, Morning Light has the trifecta of what it takes to be a fantastic business down perfectly: 1. Great location! Just off the Winooski Circle and by the water, there’s plenty of beautiful spaces to wander with your cup of tea and warm bun! 2. Great food/drink! There’s a ton of variety for bubble teas, their buns are out of this world (go RUN to buy a Pork floss bun and a Coconut bun right now!!!), and they have a ton of delicious sweets like their Green Tea Swiss Rolls! 3. Great Service! To say the people who work there are amazing is the understatement of the century. Incredibly kind, patient, and generous! THIS is exactly the kind of local business you love to see because the people behind the counter really care about those in their community!

Absolutely love this place, and I’m so glad there are always people outside waiting on food/drinks, so they’re doing lots of business! The service is exceptionally polite and prompt. The food is really good, and honestly pretty big for the price! Considering they’re local, and a small business, I go here instead of any of the coffee chains whenever they’re open, because there stuff realy is that good! I would like to recommend HOT taro milk tea to anyone with a sweet tooth, it’ll hit the spot when it gets too cold for ice drinks! Plus it’s an absolutely dazzling shade of purple. A wife cake goes perfectly with it.

This bakery has been on my radar for awhile but I hadn't had the chance to visit till recently. I had been avoiding it a bit because finding the parking situation overwhelmed me a bit. There are 15 minute convenience spots right next door to the bakery which is great. We first tried a variety of the buns and they are all so delicious! The person working at the window was so very patient with us while we figured out which ones to try. They were all so amazing but our favorites were the pineapple and the taro buns. We got some boba tea as well and while the messy tea (new to us) was a bit too sweet for our tastes, the classic milk tea was wonderful. Since the first visit, we have been back weekly and are quickly becoming reliant on having strawberry and mango mochi once a week. The egg tarts are phenomenal as well! For Easter, we picked up a Mango Crepe Cake and I am not a super fan of mango but I would happily eat only Mango Crepe Cake for the rest of my life if I could. Today we got a swiss roll cake and it was so soft and perfectly sweet. I can't speak highly enough of this bakery and their customer service. There is such a variety of things to try and all of them have been winners so far. Can't wait to keep working down the menu!

I love this place. The staff are very friendly, and helpful. They have a wide variety of buns. The taro, and red bean buns are my favorite. Their bubble tea is great, and you can ask for less sweetener if regular bubble tea is too sweet for you. They also have three 15 minute free parking close by for a quick stop in.

So good, and such sweet people! I was visiting my cousins for the weekend and we ordered takeout from here for lunch. As soon as we walked in, the guy at the checkout counter, Ken, remembered my cousin and the last time he’d been in: “I haven’t seen you since before the New Year, Happy New Year! So good to see you!” I got the milk tea, and on my cousins’ suggestion, the no sugar option — the base has sugar in it so it was still sweet. It had an earl grey tea taste to it. We also got the pork belly bao, a friggin’ revelation: chunks of marinated pork belly that fall apart in your mouth, crunchy cucumber and lettuce, in a steamed pillowy taco-shaped bun. And for dessert, the wife cake, a pastry stuffed with some soft, mochi-like paste.

Everything is delicious here! We were hungry and got the egg tart, curry bao, char siu bao, meat and veggie bao, pineapple bao and boba! Some of the best we have ever had. The pineapple bao had pineapple chunks and sugar as a filling which was really good. Milk tea drink was really good as well and pearls were fresh. Egg tarts were flaky and sweet. Would have taken some pictures but the food was gone so fast! Hands down better baos than what I’ve had in NYC, SF, or SD.

Awesome place to walk in and grab a bite to eat. Pretty good variety of buns. Everything I've tried is great. My favorites are the pork bun, pork floss, and the egg tart. Nice that they are open before work starts. Seems like a great option to treat co-workers in the morning. Bring in a box of buns and make some new friends.

Morning light bakery’s char siu/bbq pork buns are the best I’ve ever ever had in the US, in all my four years as an international student who always looks for them. Their pineapple bun is so well-made and delicious too, and I wish I had more time in Vermont to try more items. No one should miss this!

Delicious start for the day. Their strawberry mochi is amazing. Taro root bun is also really good. A lil disappointed with the pineapple bun, it only had one small chunk of pineapple in it and a lil bland. The texture of the cream and bun were still good though. 😻 …

I just discovered this shop this morning when I had a bubble tea craving. The drinks and pastries (both sweet and savory) all are phenomenally delicious. We specifically got the pineapple bun, coconut bun, egg tarts, pork belly bao, mango bubble tea, and taro bubble tea with mango popping bubbles. 😋🤤Can’t wait to try their beautiful cakes next time. The people who run the shop are just the nicest. ☺️ will definitely be coming back frequently. Pork belly bao is not pictured because my partner ate it before I could take a pic. 🤣
