Reviews of Forge Baking Company
TuckerBud44
Excellent large sandwiches on glorious home-baked breads. The avocado BLT on sourdough was great. Open from 7 to 5 daily, so no dinner. Not cheap but worth it.
Emily Mu
Cutest little cafe to work in. The latte was great and the avocado toast was good but drowning in olive oil. There was a little puddle left on the plate after.
Erin Madden
Love the atmosphere and customer service! Got the Pallet breakfast sandwich. Wayyyy too much pesto! Had to throw out my sandwich after two bites because it was really oily. Felt like I wasted my money. Iced coffee was also bitter and they didn’t have almond milk. Great place over all but just ask for less pesto or none at all
Jea Kim
Average pastries and coffee but awesome breakfast sandwiches. Dropped by this morning to try their croissant, cafe latte and an avocado toast. Croissant wasn't as flaky and crunchy as the ones I've tried at other cafes (Tatte etc) but more expensive. On the other hand, avocado toast was nicely seasoned and the baguette was great.
Sarah Smith
Amazing cinnamon roll. Good coffee. I love the lavender latte. All pastries and bread are made on site. And you can buy loaves. Great sandwiches. Vegan and gluten free options. A little pricey but that's cuz the staff is paid better than at most places. Also great ice cream!
Andrea Garavito
The coffee is not the best and they are always out of everything. I got a ABLT sandwich because it seemed like it was the only thing left and it was not worth the price. However, It is a cute place with nice atmosphere. Customer service is great and staff is very friendly! I have been to this coffee shop three times and it was below average every time for food and coffee. only been here in the afternoons tho maybe mornings are better.
Joe Nastri
One of my favorite places for coffee drinks, baked goods, and sandwiches. At the time of this review, Forge is well positioned for takeout orders, and some limited seating is controlled by the compliance with current times. They produce really good coffee drinks here with lots of customization options (some for upcharge). Sandwiches (breakfast or lunch) once tried quite a few, with similar customization options and all that I've tried were tasty with quality ingredients. Today was a simple Egg & Cheese (Egg, cheddar, spinach, and dijonnaise on fresh focaccia bread) Support your businesses!
Adam Adkison
The baked goods are always terrific, maple scone is my personal fav. The sandwiches are delicious. My only complaint is the coffee was a light roast only and the tea was brewed too long. They have free water for indoor use, definitely check this place out
Antoni Abella Vendrell
Great bread and fresh pastries, all is naturally leavened. The breakfast sandwich with pesto was delicious. You can see the team working the dough, which I find very cool!
Robin Yukiko
I had a delicious egg and cheese sandwich on focaccia (though sliced it tasted remarkably like sourdough, no complaints).
Creamy oatmilk latte with pretty design in the foam. It would have been nice to get a mug but they gave me a to-go cup. No big deal though.
The staff was friendly and helpful when I had trouble finding the decaf option on the self-order screen.
I really enjoyed the place!
Autumn P
tried their chocolate croissant ($5 for just one!!!!). it was okay. decent size and had 3 layers of chocolate which is nice. but the texture wasn’t super delicate (kinda crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside) and i didn’t love the chocolate flavor. would rate at 4 stars if it weren’t for that insane price.

This morning I decided to try a breakfast sandwich. I had The Pallet. Outstanding. Delicious. All fresh-prepared. Accompanied it with a cafe au lait. Ate in and had a very pleasant breakfast before catching the Red Line!
Lauren Schaffer
I really enjoyed the bacon egg and cheese (with maple butter)! The fresh baked focaccia is delish, but they were out of bagels when I was there. The pesto egg and cheese is also amazing. Only complaint is that it can be a bit loud, the building can be like an eco chamber
Jane Schwarz-Tsai
Good coffee, great breads and baked goods plus the industrial and warehouse setting makes it real cool and hip. Haven’t tried the other stuff on the menu but a lady next to us had a plate of food that looked healthy and 😋 yummy! Service is friendly and the cafe vibe is right — you get families, couples, singles, small groups ... and people sitting at the communal table make conversation with one another! One can also watch the pastry makers who are at work behind the glass window. We go there often and now we find ourselves going there more often.

This sibling of Diesel and Bloc 11 cafés is a true Somerville Yuppie's haven. Not pretentious at all, just a lot of incredibly great hearty things to eat.
The "egg and cheese" breakfast item is exactly the right amount of food for the morning, not too heavy, intensely tasty.
My favorite lunch offering is the "ABLT" (avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato) sandwich, with a stupendous spicy chipotle mayo--best on sourdough. The bacon on this is very substantial but does not dominate the taste profile. Generous avocado wedges. See photo.
Peter Salem
Great selection of lunch choices, baked goods, and coffee. Veggie Club with the tofu is very hearty, and the Cranberry Orange muffin had a delicious cream and filled with tons of berries, super soft and rich.
Jorge Garcia
It's a good place. We only had ice cream, whose availability is not well advertised, so I can't comment on bakery items. The ice cream was good; not sure it compares well with premium ice creams available in the Cambridge/Somerville.
There's too little seating available in the front, however, & the wooden patio structure from past years is now gone.
Fernando Graham
Visited this place for breakfast and their sandwichs are really good. It is in a rather ghetto building, but if you get inside it is nice. Highly recommend their bagel sandwich with salmon inside, which I forgot to take a picture.
Charlie Friedman
The savory everything monkey bread (with a side of cream cheese) is worth the 20min drive every time. Great ambiance in a large space. Reasonable prices.
Peaches
Its a little on the pricier side of cafés but it's worth it! The selection of freshly baked(in house) pastries is pretty wide and are all delicious.
The service is quick and friendly. Its very easy to order, find a seat, settle in, and then pick up your order.
The decor is on point. I love the square holed welding table in the back. The rest of the tables are fairly unique wooden tables that are a pleasure to sit at. The large windowed store front let's in plenty of sun light, but there is a back seating area of you are not into that. You can even watch the pastry 'magic' happen through their kitchen window.
Nikolina Dobreva
I thought the food was too expensive and the whole place overcrowded with bad seating, not to mention terrible (barely any) parking outside. The staff was polite but sold out of a pastry we wanted AFTER we had ordered, so they canceled our order. Mostly vegetarian options, so if you'd like something with meat, look elsewhere. My sandwich was good but not worth the $15 it cost! The coffee was decent but overall I wasn't happy with the experience.
Rebecca Osei
Super cute coffee shop and old school ice cream shop! Bakery items are made in-house and are delicious. You can watch them being baked through the glass window in the back (and see how clean the work area is!). Ice cream-wise, try the Somerville Smog. It’s Earl Gray Tea meets ice cream and it is surprisingly delicious <3 Staff is super friendly and attentive as well! Couldn’t ask for more!
Brenna Morrissey
One of my favorite places to get work done. It's so light and bright inside. The people here are great and remember my name and order which always feels nice. Coffee is great. Love the baked goods. And you CANNOT miss the ice cream bar. Such a cute little spot with fun and creative flavors. 10/10 recommend.
Carla Dipasquale
Delicious sandwiches and pastries. Everything is made in-house. Really loved the bread! They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options too.
Joe Dulock
I have come here only on the weekends which could also be the reason, but I have waited an awkwardly long time for my coffee orders.
other than that the place is dope...the space is pretty barn-store like inside.
Jose Vieitez
Their iced coffee was so refreshing. I usually have cream but it was great as is. All of their pastries are delicious. The ambience is great too. Nice staff and great place to work
Kristen Lyman
I've been here several times and enjoyed it. Like most meals around, it's overpriced but usually tasty. I had an unpleasant meal just now and will skip it from now on.
I can't stand it when places don't list All of the ingredients. In the age of allergies, make an effort even if it's all mixed in! Especially when something is suddenly a main component- how would I know that "Farro and Kale" is actually 1/3 black beans? I'd never guess that "mashed chickpea" is also artichoke, garlic, edamame and Spicy something, sweet potatoes maybe, I couldn't identify everything but that's a lot of random stuff and SPICY. At the end of my $21 meal (because I added chicken, the only unsalted boiled tastelessness to cool my mouth down), which I picked the beans out of, I took a picture. I was only going to send the bean pile to a friend when a fruit fly landed. I took a video because it was funny, but then Another landed in my drink. Time to gtfo, byyye 🤢
Too bad, it's nice to have a small free parking lot out front. Sad I never tried the ice cream because they close a bit early.
Francesc Puig-Basagoiti
The coffee is subpar (not worthy) but the croissant is fricking awesome, really really good. Crispy and buttery to perfection .
Alex Zlatkus
Light, flavorful bagels that should at least be in the conversation with Turenne and Bagelsaurus. Another bonus as they have the best inside of the three places and have a nice parking area.
Mathew Franco-Diaz
Got the bread plate with baguette and a cardamom latte, both were delicious and exactly what I was in the mood for. Also got an everything croissant and chocolate croissant to go. Will definitely be back.
Seating can be a challenge, so beware you may have to get scrappy.
Mike
Great place to grab a cup of coffee and some pastry’s. They even have a creamery that opens later in the day to get your ice-cream fix! Check it out.
Kate Voss
A longtime favorite, I used to come here early before work for a coffee with friends or to hang out on weekends. Sure it gets busy but I love the pastries and watching the bread makers in the back. It's lots of fun on a snow day when you have to trudge through to earn your coffee and scone
Susie Frasca
Great coffee, salads, and sandwiches. Service is also good: fast and kind.
Dana Hillel
Amazing coffee place with lots of fresh bread and pastries (you can actually see them make everything at the back). Nice atmosphere, lots of students.
Maud Chalons
Delicious croissants ! Sourdough bread is very nice too. Happy I discovered this place. It's beautiful and delicious and crispy when it needs to be. I will be back !!
Johan Lannek
Great coffee, fresh baked bread in a cool atmosphere, what not to love about that! 😍 …
Sammy “Sam” Odell
Good selection of goods offered at Forge. Vegan and gluten-free also.
Grant Gould
The best croissant in Greater Boston.
The cardamom latte -- their signature drink -- will have me coming back forever.
Sophia Lin
Fantastic coffee and yummy food! High ceilings and good natural light toward the front. Free wifi and lovely environment for working!
Tom Paquin
Amazing sourdough, and every single employee here is awesome. You can see the bakery in action. Want fresh baked bread in Somerville? You can’t do better.
Elaina L.
Tasty food & real espresso beverages. Excellent lattes. We tried the Macchiato also, which was delicious, it is a real macchiato, small, concentrated sipping beverage, lightly sweetened, really, really nice. (it's not the sugary, syrupy, whipped cream macchiato of other chains-way over-indulgent) it's is a truely fine & delicious beverage to be savored.
Ali D.
The ice cream shop is good, as is the bakery. Lots of seating. Can be pricey and a bit pretentious, though.
Leah Klein
Best spot for a coffee and a croissant or a breakfast sandwich. Delicious breads, vegan treats too. Fab selection of teas and they also make great salads and sandwiches. Before choosing your go to coffee and tea drink browse the menu because they have some killer chai and other drinks too.
Iavor Bojinov
This place was fantastic... But it has dropped in quality. The baked goods are also half the size they used to be.
Dave Stefanovic
Biggest flaky croissants I've found in Boston area. My SO loves their cinnamon rolls. Online ordering makes takeout a breeze
Rosanne Hu
The staff is SO nice for this
That savory monkey bread is made of crack I swear……………..
10/10 this is going on my 😍😍 list …
Carla D'avanzo
Very good bakery and pastry. Usually busy for getting a table in the weekend
Magda Mohamed
Indoor dining is open again, though there is a 30 minute limit (they're relaxed on enforcing this if it's super slow). Also, no more wifi. The food and drink is as good as ever, they take covid safety seriously, and it was so nice to sit inside one of my favorite spots again after so long.
Jodie Fernandes
My absolute fave neighborhood bakery and cafe. Excellent quality every time. I don’t ever want to move away and leave Forge behind. If you’re looking for a French patisserie/boulangerie, this isn’t it, but the bread and coffee are great, and the egg sandwich is perfection.
Emily Berlin
Good food, great pastries, okay coffee. Post pandemic they have you fill out a screen to order which is pretty confusing and time consuming. Also makes it harder to ask questions about the food /see what’s available
Clara Jennings
Grain bowl was great! Lots of seating and friendly service.
Shawn Herron
Forge is awesome, tons of space and a beautiful interior. The food and coffee were also great. An awesome place for breakfast in the somerville area
Beau Cote
Two part review:
Ice cream side - Really awesome. The sit-down style is something that seems like it died everywhere else. Other ice-cream shops just like to get you in and out (yes, they all have tables but they never seem to be clean or organized) whereas forge likes to keep you right there and engaged. You feel like you're at a diner. Love it. The server was really kind and with a previous customer ordering three pints, they were able to handle the small rush that came in like a breeze. I'll be back.
Cafe side - This review would have 5 stars but the ice coffee was not exactly great. Not bad by any means! But just nothing to write home about. For a cafe that has a good rep and great staff, I was hoping for a better ice coffee, but it tasted pretty burnt. Maybe it's a one off and if it is, I'll bump this baby back up to a 5 star!
Isabelle Raposo
Literally the best wheat bread I've ever had (on their avocado BLT). Being able to look in the kitchen window is a lot of fun!
Jane W
Forge is located in a strip mall. The quality of baked goods from Forge is high but there are a couple of minor annoyances that prevent me from going more often. First, you are not able to order from a person even if you go in person, and as a result it's hard to ask any questions about any of their items. Second, it's $5.75 for a baguette. Yes, it is a good baguette but this is the most expensive baguette I've ever purchased and I'm no stranger to fancy bakeries. The other items are interestingly more in line with what I expect nice bakery items to cost.. oh well.
Chris Holden
So good, top breakfast sandwich and great coffee
Shane Conder
Always yummy food, safe policies, yummy coffee. Would recommend and will continue returning.
The breakfast sandwiches are fresh and tasty with great bread.
Can also pick up grocery stuff currently.
Kent Shaw
A great place for coffee and pastry. When we went at 11:30, it was very crowded. We found a place to sit. Mainly because there is a lot of seating to be had.
But the scone is a great one. With more of a flour taste. Not too sweet. And the espresso drinks have great foam. I would add, though, that the portions on the pastry is just a little under what you might expect.
Jason R
I really liked my egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich. The bacon was crispy, flavorful, and thick without being overcooked. The cappuccino was delicious. Parking available. Industrial atmosphere. Plenty of indoor seating with some outdoor street seating with traffic protection. Yogurt parfait my wife and daughter had was really good and filling.
Marty Fried
My wife and I went here for a late breakfast. There were a few people in line waiting to order. They have a good selection of coffees and breakfast items so it took a few minutes to decide what to get. At that point it was our turn to order. The staff behind the counter was friendly and efficient. We had a latte and specialized coffee along with a goat cheese on focaccia and egg on a bagel. It all was well prepared and tasted great. We bussed our dishes and went on our way after a yummy breakfast.
Michael Hoffert
I've ridden my bike by this place every day and finally stopped here today. Got a very tasty cinnamon roll and a nice latte. Spacious, quiet, and has a good bike rack by the street. A little expensive, but the quality was good and I'd pay extra to not have to search for a table.
Jaimie M
The sandwiches and bakery items are really good, as are the drinks. I've asked for modifications, and they were really accommodating. The only downside are the really uncomfortable chairs and high prices. A small drink, sandwich, and 1 baked good will run you over $20. But a nice once in a while treat!
James Laurenti
Awesome sandwiches (big!), breakfast pastry, and the coffee is pretty good too. Tons of space if you want to chill and get work done. I haven't had the ice cream, but I don't doubt it's fantastic.
Jason Bertman
Food is great, but prices are a bit steep. On-site 2 hour parking is really helpful. The Hearth sandwich (bacon, egg, and cheese + maple butter on an everything bagel) is awesome, as are most of the bakery items (croissants, scones, etc.)
Catherine Madden
This place has a great vibe. I liked sitting inside and watching the kitchen prep for a week, but also their outside seating is a great way to relax and enjoy the sounds and sights of the neighborhood. Really nice place to have a coffee and read, work or relax.
Steve Pomeroy
Everything here is good. Especially their baked goods. Try one of everything!
Joshua Millner
We stood for 30 minutes for a toasted bagel with cream cheese. It's either your system where only one order is on the screen and no future orders can be processing or there needs to be instructions to stop processing online orders over people in house
Amber Black
Such a cute coffee shop, ice cream shop. They make all of their own bread and you can even watch them making bread while you eat. It's one of those Somerville gems that sneak up on you its located in a plaza with a Dollar General and across the street from a mechanic, but boy! It's great! I haven't had their ice cream yet but I love the retro style ice cream bar.
Blake Evitt
Definitely not inexpensive but the atmosphere (big, open, airy, comfortable) and the food/drink (some of the best espresso around) make it worth it. Free wifi and scattered outlets ensure that this place is busy most of the time but the wide selection of seating helps accommodate that.
And now they have ice cream- even better.
Ryan Dobbert
This is an amazing, tucked away coffee shop and ice cream parlor. I wish we'd discovered it sooner. Splurge and have the brownie sundae, waist line be damned. We tried most of the flavors on our visit, all were delicious.
My wife is in love with their scones. I enjoyed my coffee.
There is way more seating inside then you'd think looking at it from the outside.
Andy Marr
Nice place except the weird need to have a key for the bathroom
jacob j
Great atmosphere in a cool open layout with a window to watch bakers hard at work. top notch. Fresh bread, muffins, croissants etc. staff is super nice and the coffee is very good. If you’re there at the right time there is an ice cream parlor adjacent to coffee shop.
Finn Vigeland
I just adore Forge. The staff is universally friendly. Some of the best bagels I’ve had outside of my native New York. Get the egg and cheese with avocado and/or tomato in an everything bagel. Get there early on the weekends for the everything though … they sell out fast! Great spot to work if you don’t mind the buzz of music and chatting.
Jennifer Helfer
Lots of inside seating and a few outlets. Quiet! Some menu items can be made vegan, plus they have a few sweet that are vegan. Great place to get some work done or read while enjoying coffee!
Irene Lanois
Decent food, but very pricey. Paid over $35 for 2 breakfast sandwiches, a scone, oj, and a plain small coffee. I miss the English muffins they had when they first opened... The maple butter is still great though!
Ian
delicious breakfast sandwiches on focaccia bread
tasty croissants
fantastic avocado toast
they offer the occasional baking class
Tim Faustini
Excellent breakfast spot. I highly recommend the Hearth. Freshly made bread. Great coffee. It's not cheap, but it's also not overpriced. There is known to be a bit of difficulty grabbing a seat during busy hours, but it's a pretty nice spot to work during slower times.
Sean Marris
Amazing pastries. This place is on the pricier side but it's totally worth it. I'm obsessed with the maple oat scones. Their spicy turkey club is also delicious.
Derek Ng
Great sandwiches and pastries! You might even see the chefs baking in the kitchen through the window in the dining area!
Peter McCullagh
Love this place. Spacious, so it's easy to grab a seat. Great coffee here; I once had cold brew from a nitro tap which was amazing. Great baked goods and stellar egg sandwiches.
Emily Coombs
Their sourdough has become a staple in my house, but we have enjoyed many other items including amazing take-and-bake cinnamon rolls and many local grown/produced items.
Pierce Liefeld
Dear Forge,
I love your egg and cheese. I love that I can order it online and walk in on my way to work to find it ready and waiting for me. I love that you use a real, beautiful fried egg and not a pre-mixed scramble. I love your little signature addition of tomato butter. I love it best of all on an everything bagel. You're perfect. Never change.
Louis Little
Forge is a excellent coffee shop/cafe for any time of day (yay that rhymes). Delicious breads, sandwiches and coffees. Love it.
Tim Russell
Best ice cream bar in a bakery there is. Pro tip: they will mix two flavors in a single school. Best drink: get their cold brew coffee milk shake with malted vanilla. So good.
Dan Jahnke
This place is awesome! Tucked away in the corner, this is a place not to miss. They have some amazing sandwiches, where are really healthy, yet delicious. We just discovered this place, I wish we would have found it sooner. Don't be mistaken by the 'bread' name, they have some very progressively healthy options.
R. D.
Pretty good food, hidden gem
Christopher Reichert
I love Forge but the prices are very high. Having said that if you're looking for upper end quality sandwich very tasty teas and coffees in an environment that invites creativity and conversation, Forge is the place for you. The attached ice cream shop is a nice bonus if you have kids who want a quick fix.
Enrique Lozano
Great bagels, great (but expensive) bread, good staff, and excellent prepared food. Really stepped it up during covid-19. I sing their praises to everyone.
Clayton Haapala
Very nice space, food, coffee and staff
Jay Thaker
Forge is great all around! Awesome baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee. Ice cream next door is awesome too. Get a “flight” to try a bunch of scoops of different flavors.
Michael Kazin
Good coffee and assortment of baked goods. Free WiFi and plenty of room to sit and plug in a laptop. There's a large window into the bakery itself.
Parking in this stripmall is very busy at times but turnover is quite high- just avoid parking at the pharmacy who will tow you.
Paula Billups
One of those Somerville places that is a freelancer's dream. Overly hip and very overpriced, terrible sandwiches, good coffee and good baked goods. Easy to find a place to sit and work. Down side for freelancers -- chaotic and loud - staff picks of music are sometimes good, sometimes nails on a blackboard for 2 hours. You just have to take your chances. And it is a down side that it is near a dance school, so it gets inundated with noisy kids around 3pm. Also a baby-carriage haven at around 11. If you are a parent with kids you'll enjoy it. If you are actually hoping to have a place you can focus and work ..... eh.
Jason Garrabrant
Great spot to grab a sandwich or pastry. Wide open space is inviting and the food is always good. The staff and clientele are friendly. There are tables to sit and eat or meet up with people.
박지영
I love their ice cream!! So good~
Sheraz Choudhary
Forge is amazing just like it's sister cafes (Diesel and Bloc 11). I love them all!!!
The coffee and food are both top notch and excellent. You can't go wrong if you visit one of these three cafes.
Rebecca Chappelear
Good food, just a little pricey. Also they need to make their espresso beverages a lot hotter (and not so much foam--ordered a latte not a capp). Beautiful space and good vibe
Sheila Dorman
It is a big roomy place with many seats and tables. It is a little pricey though. I spent $2.00 more than usual for a cup of hot tea and a scone but it was yummy!
Tim Armstrong
Food is good, as is the coffee. I had a mocha and a breakfast sandwich on brioche, which were very good. The ice cream next door is great, too.
Zoe Morosini
Delicious variety of sandwiches and baked goods. Spacious place but it gets slammed on weekends. Attentive staff. Coffee is nothing special, unfortunately.
Lyla H
Had the egg sandwich with spinach and dijonaisse on brioche, it was all very fresh and tasted incredible. Get a sandwich and don't forget to buy some bread to take home!
Hayden Tilley
Strong, well constructed coffee combined with fresh baked goods. Forge is a staple of the local neighborhood for a reason. Would recommend.
- Hayden
Chris J
The pastries would be twice as good if they could be heated a little before serving. It's rare that a bakery would not have a way to heat things on request...consider it, it's an easy fix...
Corinne Richter
The food is good if overpriced. They are SO HECKING SLOW, though. Truly took eons to make a bacon and egg on a bagel.
Jeff Liu
Really cool atmosphere; the former-warehouse vibe doesn't feel too contrived - it's a rather functional transformation that retains elements of the former space to accommodate a bakery. There's a window into the kitchen, which lets you satisfy your voyeuristic desires of watching an unedited baking show on mute while you sip your coffee.
Jennifer Rajaseharan
Lots of seating, but you might have to wait even still. Good place to work. The food is over priced and the coffee is okay. The ice cream was alright.
Jacques Dupuis
Phenomenal sandwiches and bread. Parking is a pain in the neck most of the time, but there’s usually something within a block or two and it’s 100% worth the effort to get a bite to eat here.
Drew DiSabatino
The best bread in Boston — definitely grab a baguette if you have the chance. Delicious sandwiches, great coffee, awesome staff.
Rocephin W
I went there to get quarters, only to find some delicious treats. Their Bread was freshly baked and tender. I enjoyed them greatly. The girl who helped me was very friendly.
Jillian Rix
Forge makes great coffee and sandwiches! I love their bread plate: affordable, and allows you to try a variety of their exceptional baked goods.
Nancy J Roach
Was disappointed to not see raspberry lime Rickey on drink menu.
Aviana
Yum! My favorite items here are the croissants, they are flaky and delicious. They also make a very good iced chai, a little on the sweeter side.
Matthew Aronson
Pumpkin tea cake us delicious. Good salads. Lots of space. Friendly staff. Free wifi and plenty of plugs. Great work spot.
Mark Renouf
Upscale, trendy coffee and bakery establishment. Food is excellent, but a bit pricey. Plus: tons of room and always seating available.
Tatlıdil Onur
Relax place, good service.
Shay Curran
the ice cream is rich and creamy, and the cakes are exquisitely decorated, the coffee is top notch, and the maple oat scone is my favorite.
John Maynes
High quality goods, efficient service, and the entire staff is genuine, warm, and friendly. It’s one of those places I can always go to knowing that whatever I order, and whoever helps me, it will be perfect.
Nick Turner
This place has plentiful seating and a nice atmosphere. I tried the Hearth sandwich and the ham and cheese croissant, both were very tasty.
Najat Kessler
My kind of place. Great food, coffee, and ice cream. A fantastic big space and there is parking. One down side: it is pricy.
Neeta Kulkarni
It's a little too loud in here to get much work done, and I'm always surprised at how expensive the drinks and food is. It does have a cute outdoor space and ice cream parlor.
John Montgomery
Great breakfast sandwiches and pastries. They also offer really cool and worthwhile baking/coffee classes on the weekends.
Sean
Forge is awesome: delicious food and freshly made bread and pastries, and great drinks as well in a cool repurposed space. Only downside is that it's a little pricey.
Dru Falco
Forge is the best! Excellent coffee, cookies, and bagels. The pick up window systems works really well.
Laurie Hakes
Amazing salad, great coffee. I love that it’s a large space so there’s usually seating even when it’s packed.
J W
The pastey selection is fantastic, my only issue is the scones tend to be a little under baked or dry the four times I've bought them
Jacob Bower-Bir
Free Wi-Fi is a rare thing for Somerville coffee shops, and the atmosphere here is light and open. The food and coffee are decent but expensive.
Christopher Chang
Delicious food and drinks. They are a pricey, but the quality is good. They also have ice cream here!
Eric Haffey
Incredible food, great service, reasonable way of managing COVID. My wife and I pick up breakfast from them almost every weekend.
Bob Nelson
I didn't know about this place for quite a while and was missing out. Really tasty breakfast sandwiches, great pastries (see monkey bread) and good coffee.

Macbooks, Macbooks everywhere. Outlets are scarce and everyone is a little territorial. We were lucky to get a seat with a view into the bakery window.

I came for the intelligentsia which was good but can you guys regulate the laptop use on the weekend? It sucks waiting for a place to sit in a sea of laptops that aren't leaving anytime soon.

(Translation) Everything was satisfactory except for the lack of accessibility. First of all, there is a parking lot and it is spacious, so it is good to bring a car. Both the outside and the inside feel clean, and the inside is spacious, so there are plenty of places to sit. It's not cramped inside, so it's good to come in a group. There were a lot of people with strollers, but it was okay because the inside was spacious. Coffee seems to be using Wondureung Intelligentsia Wondureung. I ordered a cappuccino and drank it, but it was a pity that the amount was small, but the taste was good! They also sell a variety of breads, all of which look delicious. Ice cream is also sold right next to it. to
