Nice walk from our hotel for fantastic donuts and breakfast sandwich. My wife really enjoyed the folded egg and cheese bun. I crushed a glazed donut and maple sea salt donut. So good. Also added Boston cream and a banana pudding donuts for later. Boston cream was excellent. Banana pudding was disappointing with almost no banana taste at all. Just a ‘meh’. I have also heard from a long time Birmingham resident the hamburgers are the best in town. That will be my next visit.

Unique flavors and tasty donuts, don't forget to try Pistachio an all time classic. Blueberry is worth trying. Carrot cake is quite unique as well. Cookies and cream was little too sweet. Hashbrowns are a must, nice and crispy treat for your cheat day.

Loaded hash browns are great. Added bacon on one and fried chicken on another, and we preferred the chicken being added! Bread pudding donut was amazing. Super filling though!

Hero Doughnuts is amazing! They always have delicious and fun flavors of donuts. They are a little pricy for a donut, but the quality is good enough to keep me coming back! I haven’t tried their other food options but they look good as all! I will be returning!

Great spot for a quick bite after walking around the park. Doughnuts are a bit pricey but they are mostly doughnuts you don’t see around much, and they all taste great! Service was really nice too.

I’ve been here a few times and throughly enjoyed the food and donuts. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and the donuts were obviously very fresh. The service has always been great but the last time we went in the manager or owner was beyond accommodating. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to grab breakfast!

This place is amazing! The breakfast buns were so delicious. Good ingredients, carefully prepared. Delicious. The hash browns are potato perfection. Handmade, tasty, crunchy and not at all greasy. Great coffee (they did it, congratulations) and donuts too.

Very good donuts with lots of frosting. They have a wide selection including maple sea salt and key lime pie. The donuts are very sugary but sometimes that's what you need. Fun fact they also serve draft beer! It's also a really cool location and the inside feels like a '50s diner. I highly recommend this establishment.

Food is always great (the breakfast sandwiches are exceptional), donuts are excellent, the staff is friendly and efficient, the aesthetic is great, and the place is always clean. I get breakfast here about once a week; it's never a disappointment, and I've somehow never gotten tired of it. Highly recommend.

Love the doughnuts, come here all the time. Although consistently I have the doughnut just in the bottom of a paper sack. Nothing else. Get two? They’re just in the bottom of the sack making a mess. Please fix this.

The service is always great. The doughnuts are always delicious. I tried the food today and I was very disappointed. The fries tasted like someone dropped the container of seasoning salt on them. The bagel with a fried egg was not cooked thoroughly ( I do not like my egg leaking)

Everything was wonderful from service to quality. Sarah , one of the servers was awesome and friendly we had a great visit with her and one of the regular customers. I was visiting from California and felt right at home. The highlight of my meal was the blackberry jam. I took a small bit home and scrapped the container for one last taste on my morning toast. I am going back just to get more jam.

I’ve been at least 20 times for the Apple Fritters which are delicious. The coffee is good, but often is not warm enough for me after the first half is drank. I’ve tried the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich which I did not care for at all, it is served with some sort of spread on it that I didn’t care for, also did not like the chewy bun that it was made with. I’ve had a few different donuts and found them kind of chewy and sort of thick and dry.

Amazing! Must check out if you’re in Birmingham! We got the kolaches, donuts, and loaded tater tots (a must!) everything was so good but the tater tots were my favorite. The service was also great! The manager (I think her name was Sarah) was fantastic and super helpful and kind. Definitely one of the high lights of our trip!

The donuts here are undeniably good, but the real star of the show is their breakfast sandwiches (or buns as they call them). One of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had in my life. Definitley worth a visit!

Everything I've had here has always been good or great. It's more of a 4.5 star place to me since I'm not crazy about the jam they put on some of the breakfast plates. All of the donuts are some the best you'll ever try so you really can't go wrong with any of them but my favorite is the Cereal Milk. I've also had the yogurt bowl and the chicken sandwich and both were amazing!

Well we did kind of arrive at 438pm. Normally the hero burger would be off the charts, but sadly to say it was over done. So it was just ok. I would definitely recommend it. Just make sure you get a double. Ranch fries were great. See ya there for lunch.

I was walking to RedCat to get coffee this morning and decided to stop in Hero and get some breakfast. I got the folded egg and cheese bun. Since I’m a UAB nurse, I showed my badge and got 20% off and that convinced me to get a strawberry jam donut too! The pepper jam and crack sauce on the sandwich were delicious! Update: they don’t do the UAB employee discount anymore so far this year, but I recently got to sit in the dining area for brunch on Saturday. It was soooo pleasant! The freshly squeezed OJ that they put in the mimosas makes all the difference. They were playing SpongeBob cartoons which felt very relaxing and nostalgic and it never got overwhelmingly busy! I would 100% become a brunch regular!
