Reviews of Pitango Bakery + Cafe
This place has the best coffee in the US. Great location. The croissants were really good. Definitely try their hazel nut cookies very light and delicious. I would definitely go back to try other menu items. I am so impressed with their hazel nut latte. That's my new favorite.
I highly recommend this place.
This is our morning coffee and croissant joint when visiting Baltimore. But it's so much more than that. Fresh baked bread, prosciutto cured on site, a variety of pastries, sandwiches, and there was even a pop up bar selling local cocktails, beer and wine last time we were there. There's usually a line but they bang out the orders quickly. Friendly and efficient. Outside seating right on the harbor.
This cafe is located at the waterfront of Fells Point. The place is part of the quaint neighborhood with cobblestone streets. Inside is roomy and comfortable. We ordered grilled cheese and caprese sandwiches. They are fresh and tasty. Chocolate cookies are really good too. Today is such a beautiful day to stroll along this beautifully paved waterfront walkway and visit this cafe.
I thoroughly enjoyed this bakery. It’s huge, the customer service is 10/10, and the food is delicious. My reasoning for the four stars is because my matcha wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. I expected for it to be a bit sweeter and it wasn’t. Outside of that, this place is really great and I enjoyed my time here.
Good Focaccia nice prosciutto goes well together! a bit pricey but it's middle of the city so I guess it's fair. The server were really nice, and helpful.
I changed my order twice (!) when realized some thing a bit to late and they were happy to accommodate my wishes.
The atmosphere is really Pleasent. I would come fore a relaxing break once again.
Cute place. The mocha has good espresso and it's not too sweet. I have eaten the chocolate croissant and the croissant with egg and both were delicious. The food all looks freshly made and looks so good.
This corner coffee shop and bakery was so cute. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside after ordering our items. The line was kind of long but moved fast. Everything was delicious. The apple coffee cake especially 😋 …
The location is great. The atmosphere is nice. We were disappointed in the food. The croissants were a little dry and crumbly. The hot chocolate was bitter. The caprese sandwich was soggy. The "cruffin" was basically just completely filled with pudding. We didn't care for it. The banana bread was good! The iced chai latte was also good. We enjoyed the walk over there from where we were staying and the staff was polite but we paid way too much for mediocre food.
Lovely cafe RIGHT on the water in fells point, outdoor seating with a great view of the harbor. The food and coffee are also very good! We had breakfast sandwiches and a muesli parfait
If I lived nearby, I would be a regular. The sandwiches here are simple but done right. I highly recommend the Speck sandwich, which is Speck Alto Adige PGI sliced fresh upon ordering, combined with avocados and straciatella cheese on fresh focaccia. So good!
Enjoyed the RED Sandwich- Prosciutto di Parma, mozzarella, avocado, tomato focaccia.
Mozzarella was creamy and flavorful, the focaccia was light and airy but with a good amount of crispness to it. Prosciutto was pretty good, not too salt, nice thin slice I personally could’ve used a pinch more!
One of the best cafe in fells point Baltimore with lovely view.. The place is quite big and you would get quite a few options to choose from for breakfast/ brunch..The best part of their sandwiches or even toasts are the bread , ciabatta bread tastes so so good.. I loved their coffee as well .. We orderd Avocado toast, rustico sandwich, macchiato, cappuccino.. Another thing you must try during winter is their hot chocolate its so so yumm.
Lovely place to have breakfast/Brunch with great quality of food. The only drawback they have it is a bit pricey.
Ordered: mozzarella sandwich & Regular Americano.
New to the area and discovered Pitango while scooting about through the city. I absolutely love it here! It's one of my favorite places to decompress by the water, have meetings or meet new people. The overall vibe is casual & chill. Any time I go the staff is pleasant and friendly. Now for the drinks & food...
DELISH!
It's also the only place I've been to that makes a turmeric-based drink. Their Turmeric Latte is hella good iced or hot. Food is freshly made...One visit I had avocado toast, another, salmon toast (see pics). Also enjoyed a breakfast sandwich on a separate visit: egg fried hard with mozzarella basil drizzle on a croissant. Everything I've had thus far is very tasty. (I'm a foodie and selective)
P.S. Whoever selects the music has great taste. Everything from ol skool hip-hop to Latin to R&B classics. A good diverse and eclectic mix.
While this location tends to be overrun with tourists, the selection, service, and quality is not lacking. This is a great place to get something delicious to snack on or a full lunch. Go for the espresso beverages but stay for the almond croissant and Italian style sandwiches on focaccia bread. You won't be disappointed.
Pretty good pastries but it is a little pricey. The area is very cool with seating right by the water in historic fells point. Other than that the pastries and coffee were good at best.
Nice spot if you get a table outside as the music is always so loud inside. The sandwiches are tasty, but the pastries are not worth the price.
Great lunch at pitango! We got the Melanzane (vegan). Focaccia was fresh ans pillowy. I could eat it everyday. Dirty chai with oat milk was delicious. Staff was very friendly.
Sandwich never comes into my mind except Pitango’s Milano
A beautiful sunny day was my first visited Pitango bakery where was clean, cozy, and comfortable cafe. You can get a high standard coffee. I must said it’s the best pastry in Baltimore city!! All look attractive and taste delicious!! I found not difficult to park during weekday morning in that area! Must back soon
Top of list croissants outside of France!! Super flaky, very light buttery taste.
The staff? Always polite, friendly, and welcoming.
If I lived here, I’d get even fatter.
Good coffee
Beautiful atmosphere & views
I didn't have the cafe food, just chocolate cookie (which is superb) and a brewed coffee. The brewed coffee didn't turn out good, must be out for a while already. It was lukewarm. So, my hubby asked if they can just add ice to it, so it's an iced coffee. I guess because he mentioned that it's also my 40th bday, they replaced the brewed coffee with a latte instead. Nice gesture and friendly atmosphere. It seemed to be not just a popular tourist place, but a local favorite. Customer service and location gained them 5 stars! We will try the cafe food next time we visit!
This was a cute little coffee shop in Fells Point. We would have liked more of a selection of pastries or cookies. There were only 3 cookies there when we were there and no pastries. Great tasting sipping chocolate. It was truly great.. smooth and thick. The hot cocoa was ok but the shipping chocolate was much better. There was a good mix of people eating brunch, working on laptops and some just stopping in.
This place is the spot to be if you want to enjoy a cup of coffee right on the water! It’s a bit pricey but well worth the money. They use real chocolate with the mocha which keeps me coming back for more. Big pastry selection and other food choices I am dying to try! Highly recommend this place!
(Cruffin + Mocha)
Staff and service are some of the most unfriendly around. Coffee and food are good, but what keeps me coming back is the atmosphere. Great place to unpack and work for a few hours.
Words can’t even begin to describe the goodness that is Pitango. They have locations all over the DMV, but the Fells Point location is my favorite by far due to their ginormous food menu! If you haven't been yet, you NEED to go because their sandwiches and pastries will blow your freaking mind. Must-tries are their cruffin - it's so good, you'll be back for more - their almond croissant, and their Red sandwich. FYI, they now sell alcohol here as well so get here STAT!
Outstanding! Everything we order here is fresh and scrumptious. The Mediterranean salad with perfectly seasoned roasted chicken, fresh complementary focaccia bread, espresso panna cotta, homemade lemonade. And that Fells Point water view... ❤️
Don't come to the harbor location if you need AC! The food is a bit pricey too, but then it is everywhere else too these days.
Otherwise this place is fantastic. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, the coffee is good, the banana bread is nut-free and delicious and, best of all, they actually really treat their employees well. I heard directly from an employee that they are well-paid, respected, and even get health insurance!! That's such a rarity in the restaurant industry and I love knowing I'm patronizing a place that doesn't expect its workers to live on poverty wages. Bravo Pitango! <3
The coffee is good, but there are a lot of birds living in this place. I wonder if they are litter trained??
Lovely coffee shop and cafe. If you haven’t tried the cruffin - do it now. Get here early though - they will sell out
Right off the harbor. Great atmosphere and the coffee has a unique, rich taste. Favorite cafe around the harbor.
A nice pleasant cafe to camp out, listening to music and people watching during hot summer.
i enjoyed the hot cafe latte and an almond croissant (they ran out of butter croissants). The coffee is good and they used real mug (not paper cup) for my cafe latte which i love. <note: i don’t like places using paper cups and plastic forks/knives (unless i order to go)>
minor complaints about the croissant: (1) they sliced my almond croissant into halves without asking me. I don’t like my croissants cut! (2) the croissant, still semi-lively, but does not taste very fresh (in my humble, but accurate opinion, i think a good croissant should be full of life and be eaten within 2 hours. this one is prob 4+ hours old. lol)
but if you are in the neighborhood, give it a try. it’s nice enough. (if you want butter croissants, the harris teeter in baltimore close to fells point actually has amazing fresh croissants for $0.99 - best deal in town for the price)
Excellent cafe and bakery, I ordered the almond croissant and it delicious and better than expected. I'm assuming the hefty price of $4.99 was because of the waterfront location.
Coffee and staff were okay. I sat outside and view of inner harbor was great. Unfortunately, it was raining that day.
Beautiful space, prompt and friendly service, good food. There are some good vegetarian options. I happened to be there when a local bluegrass group was playing, so it was lively. The bathroom could have used some attention, probably because the evening was so lively, but I was really glad that the restrooms are gender neutral. Stools along a counter looking out over the water were ideal for eating alone.
The coffee and bakery is cool and at a great location. But the WiFi completely sucks - I can’t even stream songs on Spotify. I’m at the cafe now and using my data to write this review since I can’t even load this page on my laptop or phone.
Come for cool vibes but definitely not anything requires a WiFi connection
This was a cute little bakery cafe! I had the avocado toast with pistachios, red pepper flakes, etc seasonings. It was yummy, and the avocado and pistachios balanced well with the red pepper flakes, though it was a bit strong. The iced mocha tasted great as well, though it was filled with more ice than coffee. The blueberry tartlet was also great with real blueberries in it!
The service was great with a knowledgable cashier, and let us know where to pick up our order.
Outdoor and indoor seating were plenty, and comfortable.
Love this place - while the breakfast sandwiches are pricey, they are well worth it!! Pitango uses fresh ingredients and housemade bread, which is perfect for breakfast or lunch. I love their baguettes and pain au chocolat, as well. In the wintertime, their hot chocolate was perfect - not too sweet and the perfect way to warm up!
Rustico sandwich was dope! Really good espresso too, nice views at the Baltimore location too. I will go back, I recommend you visit as well!
Stopped in for breakfast. Ordered the Prosciutto and egg on a croissant, and the avocado toast. Both were outstanding
Very limited vegan options that isn't filling. Avo toast was 1 toast + a few tbsp of mashed avocado for $11. Good coffee.
Their coffee isn't great, but quite good. Staff was friendly and their food is very good. At the front door on little clipboards there are "make your own sandwich or salad" sheets if you're not in the mood for any of their regular items. The caprese sandwich was great, wish there was a little more pepper, but all of the food tasted very fresh. Their crown jewel, however is their very scrumptious artesian bread. Watch out for high traffic hours though as it can get very crowded very quickly.
Nice location on the water and right in Fells Point. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Had the Red sandwich (very good!) and an apple/almond scone (tasty, but a little dry). If you're in the area it's definitely worth a visit.
Industrial styled waterfront bakery in historic Fells Point offers old world style goods with friendly and welcoming service.
Pitango is a lovely place that I’ve been visiting for years - great coffees, pastries, and food.
Real cute cafe simple but specialty sandwiches. I had the Mortadella bread was very fresh and the sandwich flavorful. Service was okay Sandwich was prepared father quickly food was fresh and the guy was nice. The rest of the staff was a little chilly. I didn't notice any chips but I may have missed them. Decor is very simple. I was a little dissappointed there were not more coffee flavors or specialty coffees. I will try them again
great coffee, great view great place to work with your laptop. Terrible Orange muffins.!!!!
We sat outside and it was a nice experience, but our iced coffee was priced at 7 dollars each just for it to have syrup and be made with oatmilk ($1.25 extra for a milk alternative? that’s absurd). Not so friendly price to those with milk allergies. The cruffins were nice, maple scone was very crumbly but manageable. I don’t think we’d come back here but maybe you’d have a better shot with the savory items?
The baked goods are really excellent and they have outdoor seating on the waterfront. Great place to grab a sip and a bite in the morning
Just around the corner from the playground at Thames St Park if you're looking to put together an outing with young kids
Cute little sandwich shop and bakery in the Fells Point area. It's always a little busy when I visit, which is a testament to the good food and coffee that this place provides. Most of the menu has an Italian flare and the sandwiches are a bit on the pricier side for a quick breakfast.
Definitely will go back and a must try.
Great quality Artisan Bread & Sandwiches. Chai's were on Point! Even better, they just opened up a huge section and took over more of the building so there's tons of seating with amazing light and views!
Exquisite bakery. Try the walnut cranberry bread. All baking done in the premises. Superb sandwiches are pricey but oh.... Very generous and with incredible ingredients. Coffee is superb.
Pros: great location, nice building that is good for hanging out in and doing work. The food is pretty tasty from the options that I have tried.
Cons: the flows of the ordering seems pretty disjointed. You have to wait in two separate areas for food and drinks. The wifi never works with any device and it's hard to track down the password. Why not just have a little plastic holder with on each table with the wifi password like every other coffee shop in existence? The forks and knives are in containers directly above the trash cans which struck me as very strange. The menu should be located on a chalk board or similar behind the counter that you order instead of the current location. The drinks menu is on placards glued directly on the wall and when you change the menu you tear off chunks of paint. I think if they updated the layout a bit this would be 5/5. Probably need to hire a restaurant consultant and pay them a few hundred $ to come up with solutions to these problems.
Delicious sandwiches and drinks. Nice setup inside, although a little cold. Great location in Fells Point, on the water.
The bakery bread and pastries are good, but the service is spotty. Also I would not recommend this location for TooGoodToGo orders as they have only given me the correct dollar equivalent of food 1 of 5 visits. I will not be going back, there are other more consistent bakeries in Baltimore.
Went here with my boyfriend. Saturday afternoon it was way too expensive for coffee I could get at my own home, yes it may have been fresh food but they need people to know how to make sandwiches and coffee no flavor In a 15 dollar sandwich. As well as 7 dollars for “lavender iced coffee with soy”. way too much milk. I was disappointed. I have been making coffee since I was a child though. The location was very pretty and I liked looking at the view off of fells point pier. The weather was also divine. but definitely not going back here unless I ask who made the coffee!! 🤨🤨
Service was fast food was awesome inside and outside dining is available. Was a little crowded mainly due to being lunch time but with the wait
Just a really nice vibe. Has outdoor seating near the water which makes it a very nice place to just sit and chill. Even better is that the food/bread/pastries are always fresh and tasty. The coffee is ok, not much variety with the diff flavor syrups.
So I stopped in to get a coffee and muffin while I watched the water rise during a flood. Only had cash (20s and a 5) they only accepted cards at the time. They accepted the small bills I had in exchange for my order... Wow how often to you hear that took an almost $4 short I'm impressed guys. By the way that was the best croissant muffin I've ever had. Please keep up the good work world needs people like that!
Decent coffee and food.
Great location, especially to do work in fells point. Loved sitting at the windows having a view while simultaneously doing work.
That being said, the coffee is definitely overpriced and just okay for the price.
best gelato i've had since visiting france a while back! this place is awesome! they have so many yummy flavors for whatever you're in the mood for, and the ppl running it are more than happy to let you sample which ever flavor you like to help you make your decision. great treat in a great area!
Would give six stars, if I could. We had exceptionally delicious and well-prepared focaccio sandwich, salmon toast, avocado toast, and beet salad. Service was exceptionally friendly and competent. Really lovely space, inside and out, with a good location. Wouldn't mind a slightly bigger menu, but what they do, they do well.
It was nice to catch up with a friend and to share a good time at Pitango! I had an iced tea and a tasty peach tasty friend had a lemon aid with a sweet.
Super food and super Crew. The best European bread in Baltimore and vicinity!
Decided to come here for coffee and lunch because it had outdoor seating and is on the water. Outside patio is nice but that's what you're paying for. Food is overpriced ($13 for sandwiches that come with no sides and $12 for salads). Drinks cost an extra dollar for any non-dairy milk. Didn't have any eggplant and wifi was spotty. Do not recommend.
Absolutely loved it...egg on crossiant was a delight!!!
Sour cherry almond pastry amazing, croissants good but the pricy to sandwich not fond of. Good coffee and chai latte. People very nice and it is dog fru
True European style coffee! Great service and tons of natural lighting. Only downside is it’s very overpriced...
Great location serving fresh coffee and delicious focaccia bread sandwiches.
The location is just awesome. Both coffee and dessert are good. In addition biscuit is also fluffy and tasty❤️
Come here for late breakfast. Yummy sandwiches , salads and bakery goodies. Love the service - always get you what you want, the way you want it.
Good spot to study. Plenty of seating and the coffee is really good. Didn’t have anything from the deli/bakery this trip but it looks fantastic.
Great fresh food and fast service but the location inside needs TLC inside and better cleaning. Some issues with service as well. There is no good parking near, so expect to park further and walk.
Our order wasn’t fulfilled correctly, when I brought it back no apology, not a new order, the girl took the meat out of the same carton box and put salmon instead. She also took the box in gloves ant it became greasy on the outside. I didn’t want to argue because we were in a rush.
My boyfriend lived here around this place for a couple of years ago and he knew I was never a sweet person, but he told me this is one place I have to go and have their sipping chocolate, and well I did, and I loved it.
Love this place. Prefer it over Daily Grind. Their coffee and sandwiches are delicious.
food and coffee are great!
Issue finding the parking and the air conditioning needs to be fixed, its hot.
Awesome spot great coffee, still great spot good food
Food was good but lines are long. Nice area to just sit outside and drink a cup of coffee and have a sandwich.
I came here for lunch, with the intention of ordering a sandwich. The sandwiches here are $13 which is a lot of dollars, but we're talking waterfront property in fells point, a large indoor & outdoor footprint, and an Italian sounding name.
I got the Red sandwich. I felt gross ordering a "Red" sandwich, it felt like a dystopian novel, or maybe Roald Dahl (same difference). But the sandwich was large (I ate half and later ate the other half while watching The Bad Batch with my friend Megan) and really delicious. The internal "toppings" of the sandwich were really good, excellent tomatoes (not on my sandwhich, which despite being called Red has zero tomatoes) and overall fresh and full. I never felt like I was biting into just bread, which was really delicious, a cheesy foacaccio (idk how to spell).
The outdoor space takes up the whole sidewalk, which makes accessibility issues I think. There's a fence constructed a little further down now so the whole sidewalk is kinda unusable for wheelchairs etc, but there is a sidewalk on the other side of the street, so idk if it matters. But be aware if that affects you.
Coffee was also good.
My wife and I love this place mainly for the environment and incredible coffee. Without a doubt, they have the best coffee in Fells Point serving Vigilante, they do an especially good job with their batch coffee. We go here at least once a week to have a great cup of coffee, delicious baked good, and read or get work done. It's also a great environment to meet friends and catch up.
Brilliant almond croissant and hot chocolate! Quaint location.
One of the best coffee’s I had in the recent times
Great sandwiches... issues with indoor birds
I love to come and hangout here, you could see people walking, birds flying, water running while enjoying coffee. What more do you want!?😜
Believe me you would want to experience al that😁👌🏻 …
Always fresh food and ingredients! The staff is super helpful and informative about the food. The coffee and drinks are great and the space is super roomy. If you are in Fells and looking for a great lunch or breakfast spot this is it. The outdoor seating and being right on the water is super nice to boot.
Beautiful view from the river and great place to work from
Great place if you need to do some work and have a quick bite or just for coffee. I enjoyed their Red sandwich and dirty Chai! A lady there told me that they will have more beer and wine options soon. Nice view of the water with indoor and outdoor seating.
Tasty breakfast & coffee in a beautiful setting. Waterfront seating and relaxed neighborhood vibe.
The food is delicious. The surroundings are cool. Love this place.
This is a great little coffee shop and bakery right on the water. The store is wide open with lots of windows that create a warm, inviting atmosphere. There may be a long line when you walk in, but the staff behind the counter work quickly and you'll be up front before you know it. The bread and pastries are delicious, as is the coffee. Highly recommended if you're looking for a spot to caffeinate and relax in the Fells area.
Friendly staff, great food , and chill atmosphere.
Awesome bakery in Fells Point! Love it! Friendly service! Delicious authentic artisan breads and Italian sandwiches and pastries. Excellent hot chocolate and coffee drinks!
This is a lovely place. I had an avocado sandwich that was excellent. Their basil lemonade with fresh basil leaves is to die for. The atmosphere and the view is wonderful. This is a very good corner on Fells Point.
Excellent sandwiches on excellent bread. Don't do the ala cart sandwiches, just order off the menu, you won't regret it, these people are professionals. Anything with prosciutto, but the rusticco is the platonic ideal of a sandwich
2 tiny cappuccinos and a raisin croissant =$14 plus they want you to add a tip for picking it up and taking it to your table and throwing the disposable containers in the trash.
Since we were consuming on the premises and Not wanting to create trash I asked for actual cups but was told we are serving everything to go! Why?
So I like the view and the food but not a fan of the service or the prices.
One of the best places for coffee and working. Great ambiance. Try their dirty chai latte and the fennel salad
It was nice and chilly when I visited this place. It was nice to grab a good cup of coffee. It’s busy which means the food is good. The staff was friendly and service was great. I did not eat but the coffee was great.
Great atmosphere, with ample study spaces inside (well-lit with track lighting), and scenic waterfront seating outside. The bread and pastries are incredible - they nailed the texture of French baked goods. Sandwiches and salads are fresh and healthy. The only downsides are the mediocre coffee (which is weak and acidic), and relatively high price.
Coffee gets 4 stars, caprese breakfast croissant gets 4 stars, atmosphere at our outside table gets 5 stars. Looking forward to many visits to this place over the summer and beyond!
Food was incredibly fresh and taste was spectacular! Staff was really nice, especially the cook. Loved everything. Keep in my mind this cafe is a higher in price; however, I wasn't disappointed in any way.
The best banana bread in the Baltimore area! I highly recommend it especially when it’s made fresh in the morning. Good job guys :) Ate it all 💯% …
Love the focaccia and quality prosciutto!
If you want to have a great Sunday and study a little bit, go there! Great location, great coffees and desserts. I also ordered the chicken salad and it was delicious and fresh! People there are so nice. I can’t find anything to complain about.
Yummy sandwiches and pretty good coffee. The ppl watching is perfect.
One of the great pastry and breakfast spots of Baltimore!
The food is great! Do try their fresh pastries!! Light, flavourful, artisnal.
The layout of the ordering counter is not intuitive so it takes a while to figure out where to look for the menu and then walk around to where the ordering line is, then cut through the line to pick up your order. Then look for water across the room.
All the coffee options are great. They serve it in actual cups and not in to-go cups which I actually like. I also have cheese cakes and other cakes there with the coffe. They are great too.
The view of the water front is great from the cafe.
The food is very fresh and tasty. On summer time they allow BYOB so they uncork your wine, provide glasses for a small fee, and you can order cold meats (prosciutto, ham, etc) very fresh. So you can unwind and enjoy the sunset and pretty sights at Fells Point.
A very very nice place to study, with lots of tables available for use indoors and some outdoors. Cost of coffee and pastries is average but cost of food is above average. Highly recommend it as a study spot, and wish they were open later on weekdays.
As somebody who loves and appreciates croissants, I daresay that this is my favorite place in Baltimore for a croissant. Overall, their offerings are a little bit on the pricier side and their cashiers aren't the nicest people. That said, I like the ample seating, the view of the harbor, and the copious natural light.
I love coffee, going to Starbucks is only as a last resource. The coffee at Pitango is outstanding for my taste, the cortado is delightful. If you like real coffee you can't miss this place. BTW they also have the best prosciutto you can imagine.
I was staying nearby/visiting for work, and was glad I found this place! Great morning spot with good food and beverages. There's a calm vibe, and always a spot to sit if you want to get some work done. Being next to the water is great too, and there are also a good amount of seats outside.
This place is great. It started as a bakery and everything on the menu is based on awesome fresh bread which is available with almost every item. They have beer. Wine and mimosas. It is pick up at the counter with many tables available. I highly recommend.
Baristas seemed a bit tired when they were talking to customers, but it's lovely here and the food as well
Nice setting with outdoor seating away from the hubbub of the fells point bar scene. Good dessert and sandwich options. The coffee is solid. 1 star redacted for two reasons: Few veg options or savory options for non-pork eaters (I know it's Italian, but nevertheless). Also, I wish there were more healthy options. I often go and grab just coffee because everything is dessert-level breakfast food. But I would love to have an avocado toast or egg toast option. Try the cruffin if you want an indulgent treat.
*Originally 4 star review but avocado toast is now on the menu and it is good! They have also added a caprese croissant which is a nice savory veg option. Thanks Pitango!
Perfect coffee, perfect place to enjoy Fells point!
Writing this review from the cafe. I work here almost every day because its located near the water and receives a lot of natural light. I generally have a good experience at Pitango, but today they've decided to play really loud dubstep/club music. Like that's fine of that's what you dig, but in a coffee shop/bakery? It's almost impossible to work for how loud it is and if I put on my headphones to drown it out I feel like I'm going to lose my hearing. This is something I've noticed coming here, a lack of a defined musical taste to associate with the place unlike in other local coffee shops AND a very variable music volume level. Sometimes I can use my headphones other times its really loud. I hate how unprdictable that is for someone like me who essentially lives in coffee shops and libraries.
The coffee is ok. Daily Grind is better, but Pitango is prettier. The baked goods are not vegan or gluten-free friendly. And remember patrons, Pitango is, behind the cozy aesthetics, just another corporate satellite, catering to the boring harbor-side white people with more money than taste.
All this being said. It's really really pretty in there and the staff is always helpful and friendly.
Had a lovely sunshiney waterfront lunch ... wish the mimosas were bigger!
When Bonapart's closed, we thought good croissants were gone from Baltimore forever. Luckily, Pitango leased the space and rehired some of the staff (or obtained the old recipes). Amazing croissants, beautiful space, great coffee, all with a little too much hipster attitude. But that's easy enough to look beyond.
I love their almond croissants!!
We stopped in for a pastry at the end of the day. The selection was limited at the end of the day but the scone that my wife picked out was very good.
I'm glad I discovered this place recently. One of these places you just enjoy the look of the dish pretty much the same as the taste. Amazing!
From their fresh baked goods to outrageous quick grab sandwiches this place has a lot going on. Outdoor seating to watch the boats, fancy cars, and people pull up to the Sagamore Pendry is just the icing on the cake. Did I mention the coffee? They carry Vigilante coffee roasters out of the DC area, this is a seriously good bean!
It has real good croissants and coffee. I love the atmosphere.
Nice little coffee shop/bakery. Good place to get a quick bite to eat- fresh bread for sandwiches, quiches, etc Also have coffee and chai lattes. Right on the water in Fells Point with outdoor seating for nice weather.
Favorite cafe in baltimore, right on the water, it is the perfect place to sit and drink coffee, while eating a scone and reading a book/talking to a friend. Unbelievably tasty sandwiches, coffees and pastries. 11/10 would recommend.
Very good sandwich and coffee.
Great cafe with bustling coffee shop vibe. Their focaccia sandwiches are excellent.
A very good place for coffee and bakery! Customer service outstanding!
Fresh pastry, good coffee, nice location, great place for light breakfast, great cakes as well.
I really like the contemporary vibe of this bakery and cafe, and the location is fantastic. But, while the sandwiches are good, they're not delicious enough to cost that much. I get it: It's in Fells Point by the water, and we're paying for the view. However, the bakery doesn't offer much of a collection compared to others, like Tous Les Jours or Shilla Bakery.
Very nice environment, busy but not loud. Sandwiches are really fresh and tasty. Menu items are also fresh and you have the option of building your own out of great ingredients. Not cheap, but then again, not cheap.
Fantastic place in so many ways 10/10, the best almond/raspberry/blueberry fruit tart you'll ever have 22.5/10. The only reason I'm typing this review is to personally complain about my experience today (hopefully a manager sees this review). The experience I'm referring to is of eating the newest menu item, the fig tart. What MONSTER thought the fig tart was a good idea to sell (especially for 5 dollars)! For me to eat one ever again, you'd have to fly Joe Rogan out to Baltimore and set up a "fear factor style" challenge where, if I manage to somehow eat one of the fig tarts without instantaneously vomiting, I get paid the 5 dollars. It's that level of OFFENSIVELY bad. Don't get me wrong though, the tart was delicious once I violently and aggressively ripped those figs off, but the figs just weren't meant for the tart. The weird thing is, I like figs.... but not on those tarts. The fruits that go on pitango tarts can't be chewy with the texture of a pepperoni. They have to be soft and give-way, like a ripe banana or slices of a cooked apple. For the love of god (or science, whichever you choose), remove the abominable fig tart from the menu and try something else (i.e bananas, apples, blue berries, coconut, sandpaper, bolts and screws, tire rubber; literally anything else) .......... or........... keep doing what's been working with the almond, blueberry, and raspberry tarts AND DON'T FIX IT, IF IT AIN'T BROKE.
Came for coffee during rush hour on a Saturday morning. They were organized and efficient. In case you wondered: no gluten free options, even prepackaged. At least not when I visited.
There was a bird flying around and it kept coming in and out. There was no issues with the employees, the food and drinks are good. The bathroom isn't obvious but there is one. The internet needs to be fixed. No big problems just not 5 stars.
I mostly go there because of the great view. I like to sit by the window and do work. Their sandwich and salad is really good, but I don't really like the coffee, either regulars or cafe latte is not the best I had.
One of the most amazing coffee shop in Baltimore
Excellent lemonade! My biggest complaint is they ran out of croissants, which is what a lot of the breakfast items come in. How does a bakery run out of croissants?! I'll probably return another time to try them.
Amazing bake goods..... as well great salads and sandwiches 😋👍 …
Great place to sit down and study or to grab a great lunch. The Sandwiches are a bit pricey unfortunately. on the upside, they will do wine tastings on the weekend
Nice waterfront location, with views that get about as good as Baltimore vistas can get... Excellent coffee and pastries. Highly recommended if you're in the Fell's Point area.
Great coffee, pastries and sandwiches. Get a cruffin, you won't regret it! Well, get anything there, you won't regret it!
The outdoor seating is a lovely place to take in the Fells Point scenery and do some people watching while enjoying a delicious sandwich.
Beautiful space located in a cool area of town. Coffee is strong and the sandwiches are tasty. Looks to be a good place to study as well.
The scone was awesomeee!! I loved it! The mocha too, wasn’t too sweet, the food looks delicious. Loved the place
Great food and fresh pastries. But your employees need training in customer service. A smile and being friendly with a thank you goes a long way. None of what I experienced this morning.
Got the dark chocolate with Expresso. It was pretty good. The barista was knowledgeable. The reason this place gets 4 instead of 5 stars is because it took a while for me to get service because the barista was chatting with what seemed like a frequent customer. Also, my friend and I had to clear the table before sitting, as no one working here bothered to clear or clean the space. In the south, tables are usually cleared and cleaned in between customers. I'm wondering if this is not commonly practiced in Baltimore, or if this place was short staffed. Either way I'm definitely open to trying this place again. It's far better than Zeke's.
Salmon croissant. That's the whole review
Good off the beaten path lunch spot in Fells. Croissants and other baked goods are excellent, and while it may not be the best coffee in the city, it lives up to the reputation of its sister gelato shop.
I ordered the tomato focaccio and it was very good along with a blueberry tart. The staff were very friendly. I’ll definitely be back.
Nice cafe. Good food although I would not recommend the avocado toast (peanut butter? really?). Great staff, nice view, spotty wifi.
Always top quality product and on top of that great service. They forgot one of my OrderUp items and when I called them they were very apologetic and send me a bag of goodies to make it up. Way to go, amazing recovery. Well done and THANK YOU!
Sat on the patio. Great atmosphere. Baked goods all looked very fresh. Friendly staff. Amazing coffee!!!
Decent coffee. Very crowded on weekends. Should have more vegan options
Casual cafe with good coffee & great grub. Excellent bakery items too! Great meeting place with a nice
ambiance near the water.
Great location. A bit pricey but reasonable staff. I had one issue here which was a while ago with a specific staff member. So that's the 4-start instead of 5-star.
Pitango is right down the street from our office at Marketplace at Fells Point! Anytime we need a sweet treat, this is the place to go! The fresh banana gelato is out of this world good.
The workers were nice. Very displeased with prices and quality of drink. The hot chocolate tasted like straight hot water and was overpriced for the size of the drink.
Coffee was good but nothing special. Dessert was not my favorite, dry and bland. The one good thing was service, super friendly and helpful.
Great location for working on a laptop by the water. Nice views and good prices on tasty food and drink. I spent 3 hours here and was very happy with the experience
Great local bakery serving fresh sandwiches, salads, small selection of pastries, coffee beverages. Sister location nearby that serves the best Gelato in town.
This used to be a hidden gem, with the best croissants in town.
Now it is a well known gem, with the best croissants in town.
Five stars for the service. The croissant were not up to my standards but at least edible. The place was clean, which was a plus for them.
Lovely cafe situated right on the waterfront in Fells point! They have a large selection of breads, sandwiches and desserts and their drinking chocolate is to die for!
Nice view, but pricey.
Delicious, genuine bakery & coffee shop - great location, views. Prices were a little high but consistent with the area.
Lovely place with lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. Only had a coffee but will definitely go back to try the food.
Coffee was fine, sandwiches were fine.
Good coffee, great atmosphere and the sweets are amazing but get here early because they sell out fast and everything is prepared fresh everyday.
Loved the Mocha. The latte wasn't bad but not the best I've ever had. Go check it out. Oh, the pastries were pretty good too.
One of the best views over the harbor, a lot of Hopkins crowd come here to study. The sandwiches and drinks are average.
Too expensive! I just needed change for the parking so I brought a $2.00 brownie this was one of the less expensive items on their menu besides coffee which I don't drink, but the brownie was delicious!
Really nice bakery near the water in fells point
Bought some fresh baked bread and mint lemonade which were both excellent
Great place to sit outside and have light lunch or coffee and pastry
Clean, spacious, and natural light. Coffee and baked goods, and a small but interesting menu of other items. Street parking, which will be scarce some days.
Staff was friendly and accommodating - offered to change the bread on a sandwich I was considering - the walnut, cranberry bread sealed It! Place was packed with a diverse crowd.
Best place in town to get French, European, read delicious bread and baguets.
They coffe and sandwiches are also top shelf.
thank you Guys for filing a void and surpassing expectations!
Loved the croissant and vanilla latte
I love the renovation /expansion. Makes it feel much roomier. Their almond amaretto cookies are the best I've ever had!
Good place to eat and study
Love the Cruffin so flaky and delicious iced mocha yumm. Great views very nice selection I have to get the beet salad next time for sure!!!
Love this place! Great coffee and beautiful views! Their staff is very friendly and the location/atmosphere is lovely.
Love the food and drinks but fairly annoyed with them always telling me my drink order "doesn't make sense" and suggesting another drink with more milk than I'd prefer.
One of my favorite coffee shops in town. Great place to work and a really nice view on the harbor + great patio for the summer
Delicious baked goods! Beautiful view. Pleasant staff. Coffee offerings oh so delicious! Talented baristas!
Great build your own salads. Make sure to bring your Mac book though or they may not let you in the door. But seriously, great salads.
Super friendly lady from East Shore
Good coffee and muffins! Service could be friendlier tho (cashier)
Great food. Great coffee. My daughter is having her wedding here and I am super excited about this as the venue.
Like the location on the waterfront. Ambience is good. They serve beers making it a good place for quick bite or long work and chill
Absolute rock solid old world-style bakery. Just shy of 5 stars, they seem resistant to invent new food perhaps for fear of the market adoption.
Cream filled brioche wonderful. Everything looked great. Nice bright indoor tables. Friendly staff. Would return and tell friends.
Lovely little bakery in Fells Point. Great sandwiches and pastries. They'll heat up the bread if you ask. :)
It's a great place!
Museum quality coffee. Location and views are nice
Didn't see a chess set. Kind of an essential game. They did have Cards Against Humanity tho, so +1 there
Great atmosphere and affordable, delicious sandwiches. Both of the drip coffee options were too acidic/bitter.
A very good place to get a sandwich, salad, pastry and/or coffee. The outdoor seating is nice when the weather allows.
Had the most delicious breakfast sandwich and the Cortado was crafted with expertize. Really nice place to work or just relax.
Best bakery/cafe in town! Must try their red sandwiches!
EXCEPTIONAL BAKERY! Great food, excellent service, very friendly staff and an inviting atmosphere. Danielle is AWESOME!
Great latte … great atmosphere 😋✌️ …
Closest thing to coffee I found in Baltimore
The best coffee I’ve ever had in Baltimore so far. Nice view, quite and relaxing.
Can I give it six stars? Delicious every time. Give me a mocha from here and I’ll be delighted for days.
Fresh delicious food, great handcrafted lattes and beautiful location! The raspberry tart is not to be missed.
Great ambiance and amazing food! It is rather expensive but you get what you pay for. The tomato foccacia is a must.
Quite small hotel, super convenient to Fells Point area cafes, restaurants, bars, Broadway market, etc...
Cute coffee shop with good pastries and decent coffee. The best part of this shop is the great location and the amazing view.
Tasty food and drinks. Ample indoor and outdoor seating. Seemingly only 1 highchair with broken strap though.
Some of Baltimore's best French pastries. Nice setting. A bit pricey, but reasonable.
Nice place to grab a great tasting sandwich. We ate lunch there twice of our five day stay.
It's a great place to hang out but they have great sandwich ingredients on baguettes you can't chew.
Amazing sandwiches and pastries!
There olive bread is great and there sandwiches are out of this world. I work half a block from them and go all the time.
Great location. Spacious inside. Awesome outside seating with nice view on river.
On Chesapeake Bay, water lapping, ships, cobblestones, architecture, dogs and people in motion. An excellent place to observe and recharge.
Delicious coffee! Love the view!
Best sandwich I've ever had. Custom sandwiches and salads and they hand cut all ingredients right in front of you
Enjoyed the coffee, almond tart, fresh and hot, the view was amazing.
It was okay. Pricey. But it's a touristy area.
A nice casual spot right next to the water.
Amazing food, service, and staff!! A new must every time I visit Baltimore! Thank-you!
The lattes are amazing. Fresh bread and croissants (though prices are going up and up).
Chai Latte was too milky and cookies were not fresh. Disappointed this time.
