Seasonal Apple Hand Pie! Is a MUST HAVE!! Oh wow is it incredibly tasty! It’s an apple pie gooey filling layered inside of delicious flaky pastry dough and topped with a beautifully crisp and seasoned crumble!! We also enjoyed the signature raspberry cheesecake Danish which is nothing to joke about! It’s a party in your mouth with the tart raspberry jam complementing the creamy cheesecake dollops and the flaky pastry!! These folks know how to make a really amazing pastry dough! They’ve nailed it!!! We didn’t have to wait too long to get it- and we had a great selection (at 10:30am on a Sat).

I came here yesterday and got a morning glory muffin and an oatmeal chocolate craisin chirp cookie. The morning glory muffin was good but not as flavorful as I thought it would be. The cookie however was excellent. The staff was super nice and the inside was cute and you are able to watch everything being made. I would definitely come back to this bakery.

Great little bakery! The staff is super friendly, and everything I've had from there has been delicious. They have a great assortment of bread, pastries and desserts. The breakfast sandwiches are awesome too - homemade bagels! Don't be worried if the line is long, it moves quickly!

AMAZING scone, fresh baked bagels with cream cheese, really good coffee too. Super reasonable prices too! For an espresso on ice, oat milk latte, and 2 scones it was $16. The staff is so friendly and we will definitely be coming back. Also gave us free samples of the cookies!

Excellent bakery! So far, this is the best bread that I've had in the United States. The sourdough is vegan. There were three types this time: apricot seasme seed, wheat, and the Baltimore sourdough. The bagels are vegan, but are boiled with honey. I tried the spicy fennel bagels this go around. If you bring treats from this bakery, you'll be a hit at any party! Most things come in compostable bags. Hopefully, they'll work on getting away from single use plastics. This bakery should consider selling bread directly to other restaurants and coffee shops in Baltimore. They could elevate Baltimore dining one tasty gluten snack at a time. Treat yourself today!

I went to Ovenbird for the first time this morning and could not have had a more pleasant experience. The staff were so cheerful and friendly, not to mention knowledgeable about everything sold in the bakery. The bread itself is outstanding. Amazing spot right in the heart of little italy! We got there right before it closed looking for challah bread. They had sold out for the day but offered us day old challah, the head baker assured us it was still good and he was so right. By far the best bread id had, ever as a day old! 10/10 would recommend. Also delicious cookies and coffee. No taste dropoff between the vegan and regular cookies! Very impressive. Will definitely be back

Friendly service at this new(ish) neighborhood gem with artisan yeast breads, croissants and pastries, bagels, sweet treats, sandwiches, and light fare. Chocolate "Chirp" Cookies feature milk chocolate chips and are big enough to share (buy so delicious you'll want your own). Toothsome bagels include sesame, poppy, everything, and spicy fennel (could be the best bagel in Baltimore!). Well crafted sandwiches are also well packaged for take-away (try the ham and brie with fig jam on baguette). Varieties of hand pies (apple is outstanding), sweet and savory scones (goat cheese and green onion is a winner), and daily specialty items offers a balance of familiarity and variety for return customers. Menu posted daily on the Ovenbird Bakery's Facebook and Instagram. Drip coffee and espresso beverages offered. The chai is outstanding, but not always available. Street parking only. Perfect anytime you're feeling peckish, except when they're closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Exceptional! We picked up a mixed bag of pastries around closing to bring to a family dinner. The savory scones were a much more interesting complement to the meal than plain bread would have been, and the fruit tart and pain au chocolat were perfect for a just-sweet-enough ending. Can't wait to go back!

Superb! Very kind and humble staff, everything was so fresh and pristine. Oh and they wear masks! They care about their health as well as yours!!! I picked up a loaf of cranberry-walnut sourdough. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that this is the best sourdough I’ve ever had in my whole life. Blueberry scone was just perfect with a cup of coffee. Lovely place, definitely worth the drive from DC. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their goodies.

We found this place by chance, we traveled to Baltimore for a wedding and showed up early on a Saturday morning. Say a bunch of people in line and decided to join in. It was worth the wait, something we are not use to. Great little discovery. My daughter and me loved it!

Chocolate croissant was delectable; not too much chocolate, super flaky. Chocolate cookie: just buy one. Butternut squash sandwich with cranberry aioli changed my life. Latte simply solid. Staff super friendly and immensely helpful. You will not regret your stop here.

I go to ovenbird weekly. Their beads and baked goods are outstanding. The breads are rustic and full bodied. They have an assortment of sourdough. Wile I try to eat them quickly, they do last. After a couple of days in a PAPER bag they just need refreshing in a toaster oven. If you keep them in the plastic bag they usually put the breads, the crust loses its crunch. The focaccia is superb but only stays fresh overnight at most. But even stale, just heat it in the oven and pour tomato or pasta sauce over it. Their baked goods are uniformly outstanding quality. Their quiches are delicious, my favorite being the mushroom over the spinach. Cookies are dense and rich. The mosaic cake is crazy good and one slice is enough to put 2 people in a stupor. Not all is perfection but that is mostly my taste. The rye is too heavy and the scones, while yummy, are not very scone like. I was not a fan of the meatballs. They pull a mean cappuccino. And their bagel and lox sandwich is great. Super nice folk too!

I really liked this place before this past weekend—a real neighborhood bakery with a wholesome selection of breads and other food items and drinks, a genuinely friendly staff and full disclosure of their ingredients, plus outdoor tables. On top of this, they were also prompt and responsive when I asked if they had jumper cables for my car battery problem I had last weekend. They took care of the entire thing for me. SO MUCH FLAVOR!!! Where to start? The breakfast sandwiches and quiches are amazing. Fresh baked, super-hearty breads and some really inventive combos. Definitely try the spicy fennel bagel and the goat cheese and chive scone.

This fairly new hidden delight wil make you smile. The baked goods are absolutely delicious, nothing has disappointed me so far. I drive more than 20 minutes to go there and it is for sure worth the drive. My favorites so far are the bread pudding ( flavorful, plentiful, and the sauce is amazing), my second fave is the spinach quiche, the crust is soft and flavorful. Cannot say enough about the staff they are warm and aim to please. Recently we were served outside by Emma, she made our experience even more pleasant. Thank you Emma for your friendliness, expert advice and awesome personality. I highly recommend this wonderful addition to Little Italy.

The lemon cardamom bun is a good looking dessert and has flavor that is amazing. It was so fresh and the filling melts in your mouth. They should make them in a medium size. The bread is great also: took home a sourdough-smells and tastes like a true sourdough. Friendly and helpful staff too.

Love this bakery! The service is very warm and personable and everything they’ve come out with I’ve loved. My personal favorites are the bagels (spicy fennel and everything is the best!), the Turkish breakfast buns, and their sweets! Their menu is constantly evolving (with a few bread staples) which keeps things interesting, and everything is made in house, even their jams and veggie cream cheese!

Someone presented their bread at a gathering , unfortunately I only had a small piece but it was great. My wife’s plans to celebrate her birthday with her circle of family and friends got canceled so we turned our dining room into a Private Dining Room . Everyone in attendance raves about the bread. I made a creamy Honey and Garlic butter to accompany this wonderful creation. Absolutely will use them again for my next intimate party. Have to go back and try some pastries as well. Thanks to chef Kyle and the Ovenbird staff. Service interaction was great.

This little bakery opened mid-pandemic and are making a good go of it despite the odds against restaurants in 2020. I treat myself every Friday with a freshly baked scone or Turkish pastry (their specialty) and snag a couple of tea cookies (for the office). Their freshly baked breads are a huge hit with my family. They make the hottest latte in Baltimore which will certainly fuel me for the cold months ahead. On the weekends they do not have baguettes (the best baguette in Baltimore imho) so be sure to get there during the week for those. They also have other delights such as spicy fennel bagels, brioche with lemon curd, and other sweet bites. I am a fan of their creative offerings and excellent customer service. We are lucky enough to live around the corner from Ovenbird bakery. My husband and I both love this place! So far we have tried their baguettes (you would swear you were at a bakery in Paris) eating bread. We’ve also had their almond croissants, they are amazing! The chocolate chip cookies are soft and chewy on the inside with chunks of chocolate and crispy on the outside, again they are delicious. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!!

I don't know how, but everything they make is amazing. Try their overnight sourdough, spicy fennel bagels and for something sweet the chocolate chirp cookies. Located in Little Italy, this tiny bakery turns out delicious breads, rolls, and treats. The staff is friendly and helpful. The owner is onsite and working and the quality and consistency of the baked goods reminds me of neighborhood bakeries in Europe. Finding a place to park is only a minor inconvenience. Well worth the trip.

I spent a good portion of what was a lovely Sunday morning at Ovenbird - the service was top tier, the COVID precautions were excellent (wiping down tables multiple times, clear distance policies) and the food was EXCEPTIONAL. I've been searching for a local bakery to frequent for breads and pastries, but I found so much more at Ovenbird. The rosemary garlic bagel made into a breakfast sandwich, lox on rye, or any number of solid options will leave you planning your next trip.

The experience of a European bakery without the plane-ticket! They serve the BEST bread in Baltimore, they make AMAZING sandwiches, they DON"T BURN THEIR COFFEE, and they always have NEW ITEMS! Most importantly, they don't overcharge for their items. The bread is fresh and preservative-free, so be prepared for stale bread on Day 2. They have Turkish bakery items (borek, kisir, to name a few). The entire neighborhood shows up on the weekends, so be prepared to wait! This is such a friendly and welcoming place, that I often stop by even when I don't need anything. Supporting such a high-quality small business is wonderful.
