YOU GOT TO CHECK OUT HERMAN'S I'VE ALWAYS HEARD! LOL 😜 SOOOOOOO......we FINALLY visited here ! after passing by here so MANY times over the YEARS ! and NOW living in the AREA, we decided to FINALLY stop by AND SEE WHAT ALL THE FUSS WAS ABOUT! it happened to be MY MOM'S FAVORITE PLACE CONSEQUENTLY ! AND She also HADN'T been here in MANY years AS WELL ! so of course, she was VERY EXCITED ! She's been talking about how she's been wanting to get to Herman's bakery now ever since we moved over here 6 months ago ! 😉 So INTO Herman's we WENT ! LOL 🤪 EVERYONE was VERY FRIENDLY and ATTENTIVE ! 😁 WE tried JUST ABOUT every dessert they make ! LOL 🤪 NOT A PLACE TO GO IF YOU'RE TRYING TO KEEP YOUR DIET IN CHECK! LMBO 😜 THE VERDICT: everybody has their OWN RECIPE ! 😉 What one person has a taste for, someone else MAY NOT ! Such as life ! THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH TRYING SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME OR JUST TRYING IT PERIOD I always say ! 😉 Overall ,I thought everything tasted pretty good 😉 I DID TRY MY PERSONAL FAVORITE ! the CHOCOLATE MERINGUE PIE !😜 UNFORTUNATELY, it was a LITTLE OVER SWEET and a LITTLE to THICK for my liking 😉 but it was STILL pretty good !😉 I'm used to the "Giant Brand" chocolate meringue, that's been my favorite so far, I like it the Best ! it's smooth ,light , creamy and delicious ! And best of all... it's not sickening sweet ! 😉 The cookies here were of course ALL GOOD ! The sugar cookies were MY FAVORITE ! 😁 I got sugar cookies ,peanut butter cookies and m&m cookies ! Had to try them all ! 😜 You wait ALL THESE YEARS to visit a place, you BETTER MAKE it WORTH THE STOP ! LOL 😜🤪😉 we spent a total of about $32 in desserts, including my MOM'S FAVORITE ,which was the strawberry shortcake ! that's her FAVORITE ! An $8 block serves 4 people adequately ! Pretty normal prices for any bakery 😉 OVERALL, it was a PRETTY GOOD experience ! I'm pretty much in the middle about everything I tasted, I prefer the Amish Market over any bakery I've ever been to, no offense to any bakery 😉 REAL, FRESH, WHOLESOME INGREDIENTS MAKE ANY RECIPE THE BEST ! 🥰 REGARDLESS, I'm sure my mom will AT LEAST be sending me up here for MORE strawberry shortcake in the VERY NEAR FUTURE LOL !🤪 she ABSOLUTELY LOVES Herman's strawberry shortcake ! My mom is old school and what mom SAYS ! GOES ! LOL 😉

I filled with nothing but gratitude with Herman’s bakery. This is por first time and I am extremely pleased. We had another bakery for our daughters sweet 15 and they canceled our order two days before the event. After googling around we found Herman’s bakery and they were extremely accommodating and empathetic they young lady who took our order was extremely sweet profesional and walked us through it all. This cake truly exceeded our expectations and more and the flavor delightful. Herman’s Bakery thank you making my daughter special day one very special with this beautiful cake.

I am originally from NJ and now live in MD. I came here today after passing by this bakery many times on my way to work. The outside decor is fairly outdated and when I went indoors the inside of the bakery was equally as outdated. It also had a weird musky smell when I first entered. I ordered a key lime pie cupcake and a strawberry shortcake cupcake. Both cupcakes were really good. I think if this location updated it's decor it was be on point. I would come back for the baked goods.

This is my childhood favorite place to go so I had to visit today during my trip from Florida. I was so happy to see so many people showing this historic establishment. I highly recommend anyone and everyone to visit to support the wonderful deserts. You will not be let down! There is plenty of parking, a very friendly and helpful staff, specials on desserts, balloons, custom make cakes and so much more.

Herman's Bakery has the freshest baked donuts, pasties, cup cakes, cookies and blueberry, cherry, Lemon meringue, peach pies etc. Herman's Bakery has been in the same neighborhood (same family) (Holabird Ave) in Dundalk since 1932. I would highly highly for fresh baked good.

Charing 48$ for strawberry shortcake when website states $37. Manager stated website was hacked 5 years ago and too busy to do a new one. They have become a scam!! A follow up to this review. I spoke with the manager Adrieene and had a nice long talk. she was very concerned with the way the young staff treated me, apologized profusely and agreed I was over charged and gave my money back. This is a great place to go it's just the younger generation today and most just don't care. Thank you again Herman's bakery for be amazing!

Was introduced to this backery by my coworker and evertime i am in maryland i just have to stop and get me a slice or whole strawberry short cake. Even though it has a lil more icing than i would like the cake itself is moist and not overly sweet. They have a ton of different pastry but i mainly go for the strawberry shortcake.

The place is going down hill. They need to clean up. Fill the shelves behind the counter with baked goods. Make it look presentable and welcoming. Throw the trash away behind the counter. Put some money back into redoing the front counter...... Very obvious things to me that are looked past. I would always recommend Herman's and wouldn't settle for less. Now It's just messy and disappointing. I feel they need to step it up quite a bit. Of course this is just my opinion and you should form your own by stopping in.

We got our 4 year old his birthday cake from here and it was absolutely amazing! It was so cute and the decorations made our son super happy and excited about his cake! It was half chocolate and half vanilla and to be honest both options were just as delicious as the other!He even took the balloons off of the cake and held them for a good hour after we had cut the cake. They ended up being decorations for his new big boy bike! Thanks so much for the awesome birthday cake for our son!!!

This is a very nice old fashioned bakery that has been around forever. They do quality work for birthday cakes and things like that, and their strawberry shortcake is the best. They are easy to find and have plenty of convenient parking. Their prices are reasonable and the service there is very good. I have always been satisfied with my purchases and my 4 year old loves this place. I definitely will be shopping there again.

Herman's Bakery gives me super fond memories of my childhood. My Daddy used to take me to get their FAMOUS strawberry shortcake. We used to go to the Eastpoint Mall location. He loved it just as much as I did. I'm happy to say that it still tastes exactly the same as it did years ago! 🤗😍😋 My Dad has since passed away but I still get that nostalgic feeling whenever I go there for my strawberry shortcake. 🍓☺ The prices are great and they have a plethora of other delicious desserts to choose from. I am happy that they've stated consistent through the years. The staff is kind and very friendly too. Kudos to you all for the care you put into your desserts. 😘😘

My 7 year olds birthday is coming very soon and he wanted to go in and look at the books to pick out a cake for his birthday. The young lady that was working was very polite and very helpful. I wanted to get an idea of how their cakes are, so I decided to buy a square of cake. The cake had no flavor and was so dry I could barely choke it down and the icing was overly sweet and bland. My son found a cake design that he likes but I don't know if I will be buying it there. I know Herman's has been around for a very long time maybe, it's time for some changes in their recipes.

Came for a lemon meringue pie, they had it and my grandmother loved it. Parking is easy, and conveniently located. Unfortunately, I asked about the sugar free cookies ingredients, the worker did not know what was in them as the are bought off site and resold. This place is amazing! Family run business with the best people!!! Came in on a busy night with my son had to wait a bit to order a cake but Adrian was so awesome. She gave my son some cake rings while we waited then even let him look at some monster truck images online with her. She printed him a monster truck photo which really made his day! Their cakes are so tasty too. Showed them a crazy cake design that we wanted and Adrian said she would over see the cake design to get it perfect. I am so impressed with Herman's!!! Hermans is a full scale bakery, puts Dunkin to shame! Awesome donuts, cakes, pastry. Real marshmellow not vanilla creme. Its a good thing i dont live close to this place because i'd be 30 pounds heavier.

I stopped in on a Sunday, Father's Day to be exact. I was going to visit my grandmother not far from there and wanted to grab her something small to acknowledge her birthday that was approaching on the 20th. I got 4 red velvet cupcakes, one balloon (which deflated moments later) and a card totaling about 16 dollars. The cupcakes were good but 16 bucks I thought for a small purchase is rather pricey. I didnt expect that coming from what had the appearance of a whole in the wall establishment and the customer service is poor. I wouldn't go back.

It was busy but very fast. Staff was super friendly. We bought dougnuts, strawberry shortcake 6in. and cupcakes , that were just made that morning. My daughter loved the cupcakes. She said the best that she had. We left and my daughter said i can't wait to share that cake of yours. I laughed and said ah I'm not sharing. I had to turn around so she could buy her own cake. My grandparents lived in Highlandtown when I was growing up and Herman's marshmallow doughnuts was always at their house. Today they taste exactly as they did when I was a little girl and brought back so many sweet memories. It was cool to share Herman's with my daughter today.

Ive been going here for over 30 years. Great and friendly staff..great prices and amazing pruducts. If youve never had their smear cake..its like cheesecake than you HAVE to try it. But be warned...its VERY addictive and beat serves chilled. Im actually writing the reveiw beacuse I just got back from there today with my mother whos been going there even longer than I have. Well they had a fresh pan os smear cake and wanted to grab 3 pieces. They are big pieces. Well the young guy was very nice..braught it out so I could choose my 3 pieces cause Im not a huge fan of the corners. Now mind you Ive been going there my whole life and as with them and any bakery..Im able to choose the slice I want..or the cupcake or tart or cookies or whatever it is Im buying they always let me and any customers choose the piece. Obviously I want the piece most enticing to myself. As anyone would. Well the manager who mind you has ALWAYS let me choose what Id like.. was in a grouchy mood and as she walked by I was telling my mother to also pick out a piece for herself so at this point I wanted to purchase a half of a tray and she overheard and stopped and told me and my mother that we cannot just pick and choose the pieces that we want to buy. Very rudely...and very unprofessional to bring your bad day and attitude out onto the customers..let alone as loyal as 2 customers as the store could have. I felt VERY disrespected and told the young guy helping us that actually were not even going to purchase the smear cake pieces now. She can just loose the sale and potentially 2 very loyal customers. I wouldnt have baught the tarts or peachcake if it wasnt already boxed by the young guy that served us. He kept apologizing as he also knew how rude it was. And also that picking what most entices you is also your right as a customer in a professional custom bakery like Hermans..as did the customer that was right before us did as well..she didn't say anything to her. I really love this place and love the products..they really are the best and last good bakery around but Im not one who likes dealing with people like her and am not sure what we will decide to do in the future regarding going back but I just wanted the owner to know cause that very bad for business. Ive never spent less than $40 per visit and go Atleast once a month so I am a very loyal customer not including the rest of my family who also grew up going there and still do. I hope this is a one time accurance. I wouldve love to be enjoying some smear cake for a snack tonight but itis what it is. Thanks. Hope the review helps.
