4.5 | I say this as a non-donut loving person, these donuts are what I’ve learned is considered a “cronut” croissant-like donuts that are flight and flaky. this “100 layer” experience is quite satisfying. I was there early in the am too and the soft freshness of these pastries are delectable. even me, a person who doesn’t really crave a donut like many, can appreciate the lightness and excellence of it. it’s also black-owned I believe, so love that. the thing that I typically don’t love about a donut [the density and it being overly sweet], is not the case here. I highly recommend you try it if you’re at Ponce.

I was at PCM and came across this gem of a bakery. Now, maybe because of the time of day, they had very select options. However, I'm pretty much a basic donuts kind of gal: old-fashioned, cake, glazed donuts, etc. So, I was okay with choosing " The Plainest" donut, which was not plain at all. The texture of their donuts reminds me of a croissnut (a hybrid of a croissant/donut). It was super thick, sweet, but not overly sweet, and the glaze was perfect! I will definitely be back to try more flavors.

I was so excited to try this place during our trip to Atlanta... But I was so disappointed. The gentleman was super nice behind the counter and recommended a few donut flavors. My friend really enjoyed her vanilla one (not pictured) but mine were just "okay". The donuts are almost croissant texture, but on a stale level.. infused with cream that was watery. We can't win them all... But I'd give this place a second shot if I visit again.

I am a lover of donuts and consider myself somewhat of an expert. I’ve had voodoo and Hertz donut, which are great. The donuts I recently had from five daughters were absolutely exquisite. Great flavors, but the differences in the dough. It’s like the texture of a raised donut mixed with the rich creaminess of a cake donut. Whatever they are doing, it works! These are next level donuts.

Well that's it. I've found it. I've tried so many donut places and this is now the top place that I will recommend. A few things 1. Donuts themselves were light and airy which made having more than one super easy. 2. Flavor combos were on point. Usually for these types of places, there are a few standouts but all of them were so good. 3. I see some reviews about prices. Don't get me wrong they are high, but they are about average for artisan style donuts and honestly they are the most worth it for that price that I've had in my experiences. Parking can be a hassle so I'd suggest making a trip to the market for other things as well but this will be a stop if I'm in the area, even if I'm not hungry haha! My doughnut was a gift and I had not heard of them so I didn't know what to expect. The croissant texture was a pleasant surprise. Since I didn't get any filling on my first bite, the lemon curd on the second bite was a pleasant surprise too. I don't typically like filled doughnuts but this was delicious and the ratio and texture won me over! They are a little pricey for a doughnut but they make a nice treat.

Absolutely delicious pastries in a somewhat hard to find location (hint, use the Ponce City Market website to load directions because this is in the first floor food hall area but tucked behind some other spots). A really good assortment of pastries that you can tell are made with a lot of care. Homemade marshmallows on top of the s’mores were a delicious touch!

We got all their monthly flavors plan on going every month this particular location gave me a little grief as it's behind other shops and not on the main walkway but it's definitely worth the find First off that maple bacon Doughnut 😩🙌🏽 great 👍🏽 👌🏽 The actual consistency of three Doughnuts like the base you can't go wrong the toppings or flavors are just basically your flavor profile But the doughnut in it self was consistently delicious staff was friendly love it definitely try did a review on September flavors on my YouTube (Just Kesha 💜) and my tik tok Juicydimples87 can't wait to see what next month's flavors are !!

Staff was super helpful! The paleo donuts are so good!! We enjoyed these donuts with a coffee from another nearby vendor. My favorite was the sea salt chocolate paleo flavor.

If you’re looking for a thick, flaky, creative donut, then check out Five Daughters. Their selection rotates fairly regularly, but they keep a few key staples throughout the year. I tried the Parent Trap (a peanut butter/Oreo mash-up) and the Old Fashioned (standard glazed), and would definitely get again. Atlanta has a lot of donut competition these days, Five Daughters is definitely a part of that conversation. A nice bonus: while their donuts are big, they have mini versions of several of their bestsellers. Good if you want just a few bites!

This place has the best cronuts ever. I got a Vanilla Cream and Summer Berry Crisp cronuts. Their texture was soft and crunchy. The cream was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to come back for more. Highly recommended!

I’ve had plenty of local doughnuts, so I may be a bit harsher here than usual. These tasted fine, but they were almost too sweet. They were also small for the price you pay. Other local shops I’ve been to have bigger doughnuts, use natural ingredients and are the same price. There are some unique flavors which is nice. The shop is tiny but clean. I’d be willing to come back and try it again in the future.

I came here on a recommendation from someone who had tagged five daughters in their Instagram story. I saved it and ended up in Atlanta a few months later and decided to stop by— I’m glad I did! I got the orange Quoissont (sp?)and my fiancé got the vanilla crème donut. Both were delicious and so fluffy! The lady at the counter was nice and we were in and out pretty quickly.

Listen!!!!!! These doughnuts were simply amazing. They were so clean and delicate. They're a cross between a doughnut and a croissant. They were soft and flaky. Everyone I tried became my favorite. I will say, the location isn't the best. You'll look over them becuase they sit all the way in the back behind several other restaurant/stations. Don't PCM until you find one.

Their selection of donuts is really big and a bunch of them are cronuts which is pretty awesome. We come from Florida so we’ve never had a cronut before and it was really good. I got the one with maple and bacon, my son got the cowboy crunch and he really enjoyed it as well as I did too. The girl that took care of us at the counter was really awesome and really friendly and really kind. It was a great experience overall. The only slightly negative thing was finding it in the Ponce market. The storefront is offset in a corner but after a few minutes we found it and we are glad that we did.

We got donuts and cookies and OMG they are so amazing. The vanilla cream is light & sweet and packed with the right amount of sweet vanilla favoring. The maple twist was so more than I aspected not your standard maple cinnamon roll. Last my favorite of them all the strawberry lemonade there are few words to sum it up and I can't say it without cussing that's how good that one is. For the adults it's like playing the piano if you understand what I mean. It hits all the favor notes. Can't wait for our next visit.

This little place is very well hidden in the market but definitely seek it out! Home of the 100 layered donut. They are delicious + insanely huge. I was not personally a fan of their frosting (the butter to sugar ratio was off, to me at least - heavy on the butter) but otherwise really great. The person that helped us was not great, definitely not friendly - as a matter of fact I'm not sure a single word was spoken during our entire order, which was a dozen+. Then again, I guess you don't go there for the service. LOL. I will say, once they are sold out - they close. In other words, go early!

Anyone who doesn't give this place 5 stars doesn't know what a good donut is. Yes, they are pricey, but once I bit into my first donut I knew why. These are the best donuts I've ever had in my entire life, and I've had a bunch of donuts from around the world! The 100 layers is so delectable and chewy and the cream filling is always a wonderful surprise in every bite. We got half a dozen for $30 and enjoyed every single donut. It's like they took Chinese Donuts and Americanized them with the best ingredients. We can't wait to come back here. Wish you guys would open up a branch in Braselton, GA!

Decided to try out Five Daughters Bakery because I saw someone on Youtube give it his recommendation. I was also looking for a cronut (croissant doughnut) in the Atlanta area so I gave Five Daughters a chance. It was just ok in my opinion too much butter and the icing was overbearing (something was off about all 4 doughnuts I tried). Im glad I gave them a chance but I will try another Cronut shop in the future.

I have been wanting to go but never had opportunities to stop by. OM G-O-S-H 😱 the place is tiny but FABULOUSLY DELICIOUS 🍩🍩 😋 I ordered the Boston Creme, Maple Glazed Pecan and big Chocolate Chip cookie on first visit. Could only eat half of Boston Creme donut true sugar rush whew. The Maple Glazed/Frosted with pecans light and flaky with a cream cheese surprise inside just unctuous. I had to come back the 2nd day and brought my friend, she got the Vegan Purist and I ordered just a regular Maple Glazed/Frosted. Unfortunately, day before was end of month and the one with the pecans was just for the month. Still no worries with the new selections available 😋. I don't live in Atlanta but make all efforts to drop through the Ponce City Market to grab a 🍩🍩🍩🥰😋

Its a good thing the beltline is connected to Ponce City market...... because this place is so good I want to come back for more, but need to go run it off. The layered donut was definitely different, but amazing tastey. I love the layers of light and fluffy, while also being dense. Just a great treat...... will be back!

Five Daughters Bakery recently opened their new location in Ponce City Market. I’ve been seeing the Instagram post about how delicious they were. Well I finally got to see for myself! They are known for their 100 layer donut. Yummm!! When I took a look at the many delicious choices, the one that was screaming for my to take home with me was the Lime Meringue. It was so cute with its toasted meringue, dusted with lime zest. Gimme! After paying and have a photo shoot, it was time to taste this 100 layers of deliciousness. Yummmmmm. That first bite was amazing! The second bite was even more amazing. I loved the lightness of the donut. I loved that the lime custard inside was not too sweet. The meringue on top was perfect! I absolutely loved everything single bite of this donut. Bravo. Five Daughters Bakery.Bravo.

Despite being tucked away in possibly the least visible corner of Ponce City Market, the donuts are works of culinary art. At this location, you might be paying for parking, and the pastries carry premium prices, but if you have a special occasion, or were going to PCM anyway, treat yourself! These donuts are fantastic, and I've yet to have one that disappoints. They have a pretty standard set (vanilla, chocolate, glazed) as well as a rotating seasonal group of flavors. Every single one I've tried is tasty. Be forewarned: these donuts do not play, and are practically a meal unto themselves. That said I often (according to my rapidly tightening shorts) make the trek to PCM, grab a donut, and then head back to Dancing Goats for a coffee to read and enjoy a little me time. A little spendy, but you're worth it.

Selection is pretty good...most donuts are $4 and up. The one worth that price is their Life by chocolate 100 layer donut. If you like chocolate, than it's perfect. Boston cream pie was nothing spectacular.....too doughy. Overall, good selection, too pricey, 100 layer donut is a must.

The only thing you will get from Five daughters Bakery, is delicious donuts. Sure you can get donuts anywhere, but you won't get a donut with a croissant texture just anywhere. You have so many donuts you can choose. These donuts seem like they are overly sweet, but looks are deceiving. These donuts are just right in every aspect. I have been following Five Daughters on Instagram for a few months now and hadn’t had a chance to travel to TN to try them. Imagine my surprise when I visited Ponce City Market for the first time and saw that I could try them during their soft opening!! These are 100 later croissant style donuts and the are as delicious as they are beautiful. The ladies working the front counter were friendly and patient while we asked about the different donuts. We tried a Triple Strawberry, Candied Peach Pecan, Maple Glaze, Vanilla Cream, Lemon Blueberry, and the Quinn. My favorite was the candied peach pecan and the maple. The Quinn just tasted like salt and butter....so basically just a croissant. They are a little pricey at 4.5 per donut but it’s a delicious splurge which I find necessary to find your favs so you can swing by and grab one or two every now and then lol. You deserve these donuts....try them ASAP. * Oh one word of caution is that these do not age well. By the next day they were dried out :( Maybe a few seconds in the microwave will freshen them back up a bit

We happened to be at Ponce City Market and came across this bakery and picked up a few donuts and a cookie to take home, and as a result, I can never again eat any of the many other sad things out in the world pretending to be donuts. This new reality I'm living in was great yesterday when I had the last one of the donuts waiting for me, but seems less appealing today, as I sit here donut-less, having determined a little earlier that the hour long drive back to Ponce City Market would prevent me from getting there before they closed. Now I wonder how long I'll be cursed to repeatedly consider making the drive to relieve this craving. What I do know, is that whenever I'm near Ponce City Market, or any of their other locations, I will be buying as many donuts as I think I can reasonably eat before they go stale.

Five Daughters is tucked away in a back corner, so it's a little hard to find if you're just walking down the main corridor of the Food Hall. We walked up and a young girl was sitting behind the counter staring attentively at her phone. We started looking at the display of doughnuts but she never acknowledged us. Finally, another couple walked up and said something to her and then she got up and walked over. They had a decent selection of doughtnuts, and I was eager to try all four of the Paleo versions, but they only had two, so I ended up with the Chocolate Raspberry and the Birthday Cake. Both were incredibly moist and tasty, but the Birthday Cake was my favorite. The Chocolate Raspberry is really rich and a little goes a long way. I also tried the "Purist" which is their take on a classic glazed doughnut. The dough is really yeasty, so I couldn't tell if it was supposed to have that texture, or if maybe it wasn't as fresh as it could have been. Regardless, prices are on the high side so be prepared. I believe we paid something like $5 per doughtnut! Overall very good, but I'm deducting one star for the employee who acted as if we were inconveniencing her!

Our favorite local donut shop! There are multiple layers inside the donut which makes it extra chewy, and the filling inside are not too overwhelming. It was slightly greasy, but they are donuts so that’s kinda expected lol We recommend their vanilla donut and chocolate donuts.

These doughnuts are especially sugary, but delicious nonetheless. A whole one gave me a headache, so be cautious if you are watching your sugar intake. Customer service can improve. It seems they have teenagers or very young employees whom lack proper training. No proper greeting, gossiping at the register, etc. Good donuts, just way too sugary for my taste. Enjoy!

I had wanted to try this place after first hearing about it opening. This past weekend, I went and got 4 donuts. I thought they were just "okay." I got the Dough Knot, Malted PB Cup, Vanilla Cream and the Quinammon Roll. I hadn't really researched the place that much before I went and upon eating the donuts, I realized that they all tasted like croissants and not like regular yeast donuts. I like croissants, but had I known that the majority of their donuts are like this, I would have ordered differently. That aside, the ones I tried were decent. My favorite was the Dough Knot, because I love cinnamon. The others weren't that special to me. The Malted PB Cup and the Vanilla Cream both had too much icing. When I first picked them up they felt very heavy and I ended up scraping off the majority of the icing. Also, I didn't really like the icing for either one and after you scrape off the icing, the actual donut itself doesn't taste that special. Overall I thought they were okay. I went back to their menu and see that they do sell regular yeast donuts, that I might try. We spent $18 on only 4 donuts, I don't think that it was worth the price. I've had better donuts at Whole Foods.

This shop sells some of the best donuts I've ever had. They have a light texture that's very pleasant to eat, and the flavors are bold and interesting. All 3 of the ones I tried were phenomenal. The really special donuts are $4.50 and the more ordinary ones are $2.75, although they're still very good and still pretty unique.

Oh! My God. These donuts here are the bomb! The coffee is even just right to compliment the donuts. Be advised if you’re looking for a sweet coffee like a Starbucks drink you’ll be disappointed. The drip coffee is complimentary to the pastry. My daughter heard of this place on the radio and suggested we take my aunt from out of town there and we are hooked! We’ve tried every flavor and they are all amazing. Fav is the raspberry one.

Let's start by me saying that I love donuts and I was very excited to try these. First, these are huge pastries. Beautifully decorated and presented. Second, I ordered two items. The maple cinnamon roll and a peanut butter chocolate donut. The cinnamon roll was wonderful. It was even better when I earned it up at home. Maybe the bakery could do that upon request? The peanut butter chocolate donut was not a hit. The overall flavor was bitter and the donut was stale. Third, I'm on the fence about the price. I've had amazing donuts for under $2. I would argue that alot of gourmet desserts are at this price point. In summary I will go back and hope to find a fresh, delicious donut next time.

the donuts are pretty but overpriced, and my entire family found them way to be way too sweet. the actual donut itself was super yummy but the cream and glazes just made it way too sugary.

Not your ordinary donut, but rather a desert pastry. I’ve tasted the 3 different ones Vanilla Cream, King Kong and Maple Glaze. They were all buttery, fluffy and the right amount sweetness. They have layers like a good croissant. I never eat the whole donut because they are a good size. Don’t fret that each donut average $5. Just save some for later.

Limited gf items. The gluteny doughnuts look amazing, with icing and powdered sugar, some even had garnishes. The gf doughnuts were the sad little plan rings in the bottom of the case. Also, the gf doughnuts were open and at the bottom where crumbs and particulates could fall on them. I also needed to tell the cashier not to put my doughnut in with my husband's regular doughnut. I'm glad they offer a sweet treat. I hope the will do more to make it more appealing, like the other doughnuts

If you get the chance to try these doughnuts, take it! My friend and I drove 2 hours just for these magical tasting pieces of heaven! I got the King Kong (which has a really tasty icing topped with bacon), and the Sea Salt and Chocolate. They were amazing.

I prefer this to that of Dominique Ansel. Theirs is a good pastry and experience, but I don't enjoy lining up every time, no flavor choice, and they were a bit oily. These 100 layer donuts were less delicate/refined, but were cheaper, and seem to have a variety of good flavors. I only had the original glace and chocolate churro, but they were solid. I've been to Dominique Ansel twice, with the most recent being a few years ago.

They were very average. The donuts themselves were good, nothing amazing, they were large and decadent. Probably too far on the sweet side for me, but that's a personal taste. They had a good flavor and texture but nothing outstanding. On a pure taste-for-taste matchup they don't stand up to revolution (nearby gourmet donut place). The price is a bit outrageous, though that seems to be the going rate for PCM. $4 (or more) for a donut is high no matter where you are and the donuts just don't shine enough for me to be willing to shill that out. The staff were friendly and nice in a location that was clean and organized. Overall I give it 3 for being generally decent donuts though too expensive.

It’s great to find a place that serves paleo treats. My wife and I both had the Chocolate Rasperry and the Chocolate chip sea salt donuts. They were dense and moist and basically like eating a slice of cake, but better. We really enjoyed it. The normal donuts were great as well. We had those at another time and I actually favored them over other local donut spots that I also love in town. It really doesn’t surprise me that people complain over the price of a donut, given (1) it’s Ponce City Market... You already know everything is expensive, Chad. (2) They’re filling enough to where you’re not trying to eat a whole box of them like you might do at Krispy Kreme. I don’t mind paying for good things and supporting a brand new business in our area.

Literally the best donut I've ever had and I've tried many . I'm a sucker for pastries! It made me mad a few times like 3x's that when I went they were out of product but was still open . I think they should start posting when they are out of pastries on social media cause it's a hassle with parking and actually walking in only to find out that they are out of everything . Don't try calling because I've never gotten anyone one on the phone. I got the King Kong (which is maple and bacon) and the Quinn it's like a croissant and a muffin that has salt sugar and SUPER BUTTERY as it should be ! AGAIN REALLY GOOD FIRST CHOICES ! The only thing is that the prices for each seems a bit overpriced and in my opinion I wish they would take it down a notch so people would get more and not feel as they are splurging on just a few donuts . I was a little hesistant about this place after reading some of the reviews. People say stuff like “it’s not even a donut....it’s too expensive....it’s stale.” I love donuts. Sometimes I go to Dunkin’ and order a half dozen for myself. I grew up eating Entaminns for breakfast every day. I am the type of person that has to win every donut argument. And I believe that this place gets a bad rap, because I LOVED it. They are heavy, sugary, dense, light, and at their best, cream-filled. Order from the top row, as I did, and you will surely not be disappointed. However, I bet the ones on the lower rows are splendid as well. Lastly, I believe this place should be viewed equally as competitive as Revolution when it comes to quality for $$ spent. There is less variety here, though.

Previous: Not what we expected. We were blown away by our first experience in Nashville, but these don’t compare.
