I was lucky enough to try samples of different pies at Food That Rocks when Buttermilk Sky Pie had a booth there earlier this year. I was informed to sign up for the birthday club and I would receive a free mini pie and I quickly did. I received my email last month and I gladly went to go pick up the pie. There were so many pies to choose from but I decided on apple since it tasted so good the first time I tried it. Unfortunately I had a 45 minute drive home and the pie did not make it back since I immediately ate it once I got in the car. Next time I return, I will definitely pick up one then one. Don't walk, run to try their pies!

Buttermilk Sky Pie serves several different pies on a rotating basis. Pictured here is the I-40 which is more or less a pecan pie with chocolate chips and coconut flakes. So good. I've also had the coconut cream and peanut butter pie which are my personal favorites. You can order through the website which is super easy and quick. The staff is really friendly and helpful as well. I'll definitely be back.

SO GOOD!! I went here for the first time tonight and we tried the peanut butter cream pie and the apple butter pie. I also sampled the thumbprint cookies! Everything was SOOOOO delicious. My husband and I love their pies! The chocolate cream and peanut butter are our favorites, but we also love the fruit pies. It’s hard to beat their apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We love that they make the individual size pies so we can try multiple flavors each time we visit. Highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the neighborhood!

Had one of those days and needed a sweet fix. 😂 Was on my way home and stopped by this place and got us two mini cream pies, one peanut butter the other chocolate. They were packed with such care in these little black plastic holders with a little clear dome on top. Definitely carry-out friendly! The place was clean and I was welcomed right when I walked into the door.. it's the little things that matter.~ now on to the pies themselves.. I have got to say, the peanut butter pie was one of the best I've ever had and definitely solved my sugar cravings. The chocolate pie was also amazing. Not overly sweet and definitely creamy. 🙌🏻✨10/10 will definitely stop by here again and try some of their other menu items. Attached a photo of my receipt for proof since we legit devoured them when we got home. 🤣

Great service and nice shop, but the pies we got do not taste like pies. Whatever they used for the pies crust was not pie crust. It was some kind of insanely sweet cookie or something, which made everything way too sweet to eat. The coconut cream pie had some kind of rubbery cream on top that is great for presentation and travel, but not the experience that I was seeking. The coconut cream was just overwhelming sweetness, and so I was not able to discern any coconut cream flavor. This was not bad "pie," it just wasn't for me.

I had a great experience here a few days ago. I got 2 dozen thumbprint cookies and a small apple pie. Both desserts were delicious. The owner was devine and had a great personality! In fact, it's 9:37am and I am anticipating going at 10am when they open. Call me greedy- I don't care! If you're looking for amazing pies- this is your place!

Delicious mini pies available on amazing flavors including Chocolate Cream, PB Cream, Cherry, Buttermilk and my favorite Granny Apple. The miniis are perfect if you don't want a full size pie and so good! The crust is flavorful and they are perfect with whipped or ice cream of course. Great service too!

Disappointed. We gave the pies away to charity. The crust was not the traditional flaky crust but thick crust that you you can buy from the supermarket. I was expecting "Crave Pie" level of pies. I was disappointed. Moving beyond the crust, the pie filling was a bit ho hum. Overly sweet but not super sweet. This place is popular, so I had high hopes. I was looking to replace Crave pie due to the distance. This is not the place. I so wanted this to work out for us. This was my fault. I should have done a taste test before buying for the holidays.

This is a take out dessert place. Their pecan and apple pies are very good. Very nice and friendly staff with 10+ different kinds of dessert pies. The banana cream pie is a bit too sweet for our taste. And I would expect a little more creaminess for the buttermilk pie. It's in a nice neighborhood and it would be even better if they also serve Italian coffee.

I ordered the 2" and 4" pies for my wedding and could not be happier. My guests thoroughly enjoyed the pies and no one missed the cake. Great little single servings perfect for these Covid times! Highly recommend. We got the apple pie, I-40, chocolate cream, coconut cream and chewy chocolate chip. Each flavor was amazing and my guests loved being able to take them home with them. Will definitely get pies from them again.

I decided to try this place and ordered buttermilk, apple, the chocolate chip cookie one, and pecan to get a good sampling. Except for the buttermilk one, they were all tasty (stay away from the buttermilk unless you know and like it - definitely an ACQUIRED taste!). But, the crusts were not good. If the crust is mushy and grainy, to me, that's not a good pie. Three stars for the taste but won't be coming back. I like baked crusts and these guys don't have them.

Someone at work brought in a pecan pie here and it was one of the best pecan pies I've had. The crust was so buttery and flakey and spoon delicious. The only downside was the pecans weren't crunchy and instead were soft. It was my mom's birthday this weekend so I decided to order a couple of pies for her celebration. The southern custard pie had a fairly large crack in it and tasted "ok". The coconut cream pie was pretty great. The staff was incredibly polite and quick. I ordered online ahead of time. It was pricey but worth it. The parking situation outside is a bit hectic with it being a mall area. I was expecting it to smell like this heavenly bakery and just smelled like a normal strip mall store. We would definitely go back

The real deal, y'all! So many delectable options along with a special of the month, with Blueberry being the current feature. It was awesome as was their signature I-40, a twist on a chocolate pecan pie and ohhhh so decadent. For an old-time fav, the good ol' American Apple Pie is an excellent choice. Other favs include chocolate creme and peanut butter creme... I'm drooling as I type this. Gotta go get me some more pie!

Get that assortment so you can try them all! And if you eat it at home, warm it up and put that thang in the oven for about 10-20 min on 350 Then I take a little slice, get a cup of MILK, send my thanks to the lord for my pie and go in!! The people at the shop were very nice. They had a decent selection of pies. However, the pies themselves did not leave you with a memorable experience. They were okay. I tried 5 different ones. But felt they were more on the dry side and the crust was not the best. That being said it was still a fun experience and, who knows, maybe they have other pies that would taste better.

My family and I simply enjoyed every visit to Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop! We have tried almost all of the pie flavors and each one was amazing! The owner is a sweetheart and even took time out to talk with my husband and I. Everything here is homemade and when you enter the shop, the aroma reminds you of home! We are looking forward towards ordering pies for our neighbors for the holidays. A group of friends and I were visiting Atlanta for the weekend. While we were waiting to be seated for brunch across the street we decided to stop by and grab a pie to snack on. Walking in I don’t recall being greeted. We kind of just walked up to see what we they had and the cashier finally asked us what we wanted. All the pies looked good, what we didn’t know was that they were all rock hard. And I’m looking at past comments about pies being warmed up with ice cream but we were not offered that service. But the pies were indeed good after throwing them in the oven the next day. I hope to visit again with better customer service.

Not only did Buttermilk Sky have key lime pies available, but it was the best key lime pie I have ever had! The two women working when I placed my order and picked up my pies were also very friendly. I have been here three times and tried to give it an honest effort. The presentation is lovely, the customer service good, but the pies look better than they taste. They are beautiful looking, ok tasting. These pies are certainly better than your average grocery store, but in my opinion not worth the price. The mini pies are cute for a dinner party, but overall nothing crave-able.

We just finished using Buttermilk Sky Pie for our wedding on September 16, 2018. We had a destination wedding in Destin, Fl and we worked with Buttermilk Sky in advance on how to keep the pies chilled on our car ride down. We enjoy every flavor they have; however, for our wedding we choose Key Lime and Coconut. We were super pleased and they tasted delicious even 4-6 days later. Every pie is truly homemade and you can taste a huge difference between Buttermilk Sky pies and store brought brands. With it being our first time to the shop, it lacked a little of the friendly welcome feeling, with an explanation of their products/offerings from the staff. We ordered pie with ice cream and it came mixed together in a dish. It was good, definitely a different take on a la mode, but this seemed like an explanation would have been helpful or asking if we wanted it a la mode or mixed up like it came. Buttermilk Sky Pie is one of my favorite places. They're pies are delicious. I don't recommend getting a cloud 9 with a rich pie with chocolate ice cream. I love chocolate, but it gets too sweet. I haven't had anything there that I don't like.

Stopped by this pie shop because I heard a lot of great things about it. I’m more of a cobbler guy but I thought I’d check it out. To my surprise, the pies were ANAZING. I got a combination of buttermilk, granny’s apples, I-40 and lemon. All were EXCELLENT. I would highly recommend this pie shop to anyone trying to get a pie fixing.

The Truth

I have tried 2 types of pies here - the chocolate merengue and the keylime. Both were very good. The chocolate pie is a dark chocolate and not overly sweet. The key lime pie is mainly sweet with a bit of tartness. I typically enjoy my keylime with a bit more tartness to it, but it was still very good. The crusts and fillings look and taste homemade.

They catered my wedding in February and did the most fabulous job! We did four flavors of mini pies (apple, I-40, strawberry chocolate, and s'mores) and they were beautiful and DELICIOUS! Our guests still talk about them!

If I could give them 6 star for the Thumbprint cookies, I would! This is the best thumbprint cookie I've had since the German bakery closed. Everything that you would think a dream southern pie would be - creamy, buttery, and elite! If you are a fan of the Samoas Girl Scout cookies, you will LOVE 1-40 - yum overload. Seasonal, but my FAV is the chocolate pie - OMG! Also she makes an Apple Butter pie that is to die for (also seasonal). The best part (#1)are they come in MINIS - so you have jsut enough to get your pie fix without feeling overwhelmed. The second best part is Kimmie, the owner who is fun, passionate and so lovely every-time my sons and I visit! Get to this place ASAP - a win, and forever in your back pocket for all your pie cravings!!
