Reviews of Fletcher Village Bakery and Cafe
I was in town for work today and this place came highly recommended for a quick breakfast snack. The inside had an excellent atmosphere and there was a wide variety of made fresh daily items to choose from. I ended up ordering the blackberry cream cheese danish and a small black coffee and was very impressed with the quality of everything. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be back for sure the next time I'm in Fletcher.
Love this bakery! I am a frequent indulger! The build your own breakfast sandwiches are so delicious, as well as quiches, cookies, salads, pastries, etc! I went there 4 times for breakfast in one week if that says anything!!! They source locally and every thing is always fresh. Prices are reasonable and service is efficient and welcoming.
A great place to get breakfast in the Fletcher area
This restaurant is the 3rd restaurant to grow out of the Flat Rock Village Bakery which was founded in 2001 by Scott Unfried. This is considered the Fletcher Village Bakery location. Their website states that at this location, “... we have recently added space and seating and a full lunch menu. Both locations offer our amazing artisanal pastries, coffee and espresso, and a versatile breakfast and lunch menu.” This location is about 3 miles north on Hendersonville road (25) from where it branches off Interstate 26. This restaurant is in a set of stores in an L-shaped building. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot dedicated to the stores. You enter from one side and place your order at the counter. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a display case with some of their foods. I ordered an Egg sandwich on a croissant and sat at one of the tables until my order was ready and my number was called. Seating consists of about 4 booths and 8 tables with chairs. There is a relaxed seating area. The floor is polished concrete and the tables and floor were kept clean. The prices were very reasonable (about $6 for the sandwich). The food was ready in about 10 minutes and it was very good. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience that I would recommend to my fellow travelers. Enjoy.
Excellent bakery hidden back in a small shopping center. We had exceptional an blueberry pastry and cappuccinos. They have a nice variety of pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Also greet atmosphere and friendly staff. We’ll definitely go back.
First time here and had the avocado blt on freshly made ciabatta bread and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! My parent's love the turkey avocado sandwich on fresh sourdough. Grrat place, friendly service, fresh and exceptional sandwiches. Looking forward to next time!
Super fresh ingredients, all the time. Best sandwiches, hot or cold, and delicious pastries that's aren't too sweet, but just right. My personal favorites are the veggie sandwich and the veggie melt, the wild mushroom soup and the chocolate croissants. Love this place and will keep coming back. Highly recommend.
I keep coming back here hoping it will be better, but it’s pretty disappointing overall. Coffee is average, bagels are average, service is average. The Morning Glory muffin is the best thing here. If you’re gluten free, keep on driving, there are no options for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. They are local, so I’ll try again, fingers crossed for a better experience! 🤞🏼
GREAT bread, good coffee, nice atmosphere. A really great place to grab a coffee and do some homework, or wait before a flight like I did. The staff was exceptionally nice and let me say a bit after close while I waited to check into my flight at the near by airport. 10/10 would recommend
Excellent atmosphere. Have only had coffee but great place to meet up with my friend. She loves the quice there and their homemade breads.bi will be going there Monday and will be trying their muffins. Will post another review then
Truly amazing bakery off Asheville Highway in Fletcher. I stumbled upon this place by chance and man am I happy I did. I went back three days in a row. Their coffee is declious (maybe the best in town) and their pastry selection enviable. I'm still dreaming about their fresh peach and pastry cream danish.
Usually get food rather than drink here, many times over the last year. EVERYTHING I have had has been as delicious as hoped. The quiche is particularly divine, not to mention the baked goods. Very friendly staff as well. Outdoor tables as well.
Only local cafe and bakery in town and it's amazing. The fresh bagels in the morning are amazing and they do sell out sometimes. I'm not a hipster place fan but I can get over it when the food is this good and the staff is friendly unlike what you may find in Asheville.
Food was to die for! Everything is fresh or homemade. It was really smokey in the place when we visited which was a little off putting though. And the booths are incredibly small. My husband and I aren't very large but definitely thicker and we couldn't fit in the booths. And all the tables were taken.
I just moved to the area and live about 1 mile away from this place. I want to love it and hope there are improvements, if so I'll update my review. I've been twice in 3 days to this place, and with each visit I had issues. The first was the menu pricing was lower than what I was charged. I brought it to their attention via email and they apologized and credited me for the difference on my 2nd visit. On the 2nd visit, we ordered 2 sandwiches and after waiting 30 mins I went up to the counter to find out what was up, they gave 1 of the 2 sandwiches to someone else and forgot about the other one. No big deal, but I was disappointed they didn't offer anything like a free coffee or something to make up for the issue. Now for the saving grace and why I'll be back at least 1 more time. The latte here is incredible!! Also, the food was spectacular. The Turkey Avocado sandwich on 9-grain was really quite tasty.
A nice stop for a quick breakfast. The homemade chai was excellent. Ordered a bagel sandwich that was also tasty. Order at the counter and they will bring your food out to your table. Bus your own table.
Love this cafe!! We started coming weekly for coffee and bagels and it’s so wonderful. Employees are always smiling and friendly, there’s tons of space and comfortable seating, and the baked goods are FANTASTIC
i love this place it’s so so good. anything + everything is delicious and worth the money and calories. highly recommend if you’re in the area. great place to hang out as well !
Great place to start the day. Although they were very busy and ran out of bagels, it was understandable why. Food was delicious!
Stopped in on a whim while visiting family and was wildly impressed with the food. Nobody makes veggie sandwiches like people in the Asheville/Hendersonville areaI swear. The veggie melt and veggie sandwich were both delightful, the atmosphere was quiet but bustling on a Sunday. The service was nice. Great experience all around.
You may have doubts, but don't. Definitely go and get breakfast or lunch here! Not only do they have house made goodies in the case for you to admire, they also have an expansive menu that contains delicious goodies ranging from small bites to sandwiches. The staff is friendly and prompt and do not hesitate to answer any questions you might have.
Great little bakery in Fletcher! We went here for the first time today and it was so yummy!! I had the ham and Swiss on chibatta. My partner had turkey and avocado with chips, total $22. We will definitely be back.
Great place for breakfast or lunch. We arrived around 7:30am. Staff was friendly and willing to help with suggestions. Coffee was delicious and I witnessed the care and cleaning of the cappuccino machine( just like in Italy) cleaned after every use! I will be back to this Gem of an establishment.
Likely the most authentic German/Swiss/Austrian-style bread you’ll find anywhere this side of the Atlantic.
Whenever we’re in town, Fletcher’s is always our first and last stop. Numerous loaves have been taken back to Florida by us 😅
Amazing pastries and breakfast sandwiches! Fast WiFi and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend, 10/10.
Amazing bakery! Had their croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon egg and cheese, it did not disappoint. Bacon slices were thick and hearty. The star of the show was their pecan sticky bun- SO good. Very nice service too. All of their breads look amazing, I will definitely be back.
The gluten free carrot cake they made for my wedding a few weeks ago knocked it out of the park!! Every guest was raving and I think I had four pieces- it was that amazing. Best carrot cake of my life. Thanks for making our day so special and unique for us. 🧡 …
The BEST COFFEE ever. Very smooth, not bitter. The food is fresh and local. Bagels made in house. Highly recommend!
Tasty breakfast sammich and cappuccino. Cheerful counter to table service. Everything hot and fresh. Don’t pass on the bakery items. Something for everyone here.
Get. The. Pepperoni. Croissant.
Get. The. Turkey. Avocado. Sandwich.
Some of the best sandwiches, croissants, and pastries I’ve ever had. This is the sister restaurant of flat rock bakery. You cannot go wrong.
Baked goods and breakfast sandwiches were super yummy. A service a little slow but I don’t think it’s the kind of place anyone is in a hurry.
I am on the road for work a lot and seriously hate fast food. I got the egg and cheese plus avocado which came to $7, and is definitely enough for two people. I assumed it was going to be puny and it was huge and delicious. I grabbed two cookies for my kids for afterschool and again they were huge. The service was really nice. WiFi also helpful for work.
Stopped in here for a Chai today, and the staff was friendly, signs funny, and drink delicious. Absolutely recommend Fletcher Village for a cozy, delicious drink!
I got the egg and cheese bagel with Avocado and a cold brew. Very delicious and a lot of egg which was amazing. The sourdough bread is to die for!
Everything is so fresh. This is a bacon, egg, and Swiss cheese, cheese bagel. Absolutely soooo delicious. Very friendly and very good prices for such quality food. Definitely my new spot. Also, quick and friendly service.
Amazing freshly made breakfast sandwiches, fresh counter culture coffee, and fresh baked breads and pastries!
Great little bakery. I recommend the ham and cheese croissant. But everything we have had there has been great.
I love this bakery. The daily fresh bread is excellent. I really enjoy the 3 cheese and basil. Additionally, there lunch soups and sandwiches have quality ingredients and taste amazing. I recommend this to anyone looking for there weekly bread or just want to drop I. For a quick bit for lunch.
I love coming here! The sandwiches are amazing as well as the drinks & pastries. It’s nice to have so many options. The employees are always helpful & kind even when they are super busy or short staffed. The cafe also stays open later than many others which is really convenient.
We come here a lot and maybe still will, but the last few times have been so terrible. Today we arrived a few minutes after 11:30 and were told they were not serving anything lunch yet even though their menu states 11am is the start for lunch and ending of breakfast. I am standing here still waiting on my bagel sandwich and two hot panini lunch sandwiches were served before mine (turkey cranberry paninis, so definitely a hot lunch sandwich) I’m also watching the cook prepare all the sandwiches with dirty gloves never changed in between cracking raw egg after raw egg and handling everything else. I used to love this place but the service and cleanliness have tanked. I can’t risk the contamination so I’m literally going to throw my sandwich away. Giving 3 stars in hopes our next visits will somehow redeem our past experiences.
I am a frequent patron and there are so many things I love that I never thought I could see together. For example, their cheddar and green onion scones are so yummy but not available everyday but that's okay because it's a treat when they are. Their savory tartlets are different from week to week but my favorite is the sweet potato with peppers, onions and asiago. Their speciality coffees are better than the major chain. Just an all around great place!
We were looking for a quick bite to eat before getting to the airport and I was so glad to stumble upon this place on Yelp!
My husband and I both got the bagel breakfast sandwiches with eeg, cheese, and sausage and they were absolutely delicious. The sandwich stayed together better than I expected (I typically avoid bagel sandwiches because they can be so messy) and it didn't start to fall apart until the end. The sandwiches were also very hearty - honestly I could have been fine with a half!
We also got cookies for later: oatmeal raisin and peanut butter chocolate chip. Both were rich in flavor and had excellent textures (not too chewy, not too soft). We are definitely looking forward to revisiting and trying even more off of their menu.
Delicious fresh baked bread and goodies. Sandwiches are unique and tastey!
Great bread, service is variable-sometimes good and sometimes not. Beautiful desserts!
Lovely establishment, lovely employees. The cupcakes were delicious and stunning. Plan to make this a regular haunt when we move.
Absolutely amazing! I truly believe that the coffee is the best that I have ever gotten, and I am a truck driver so I know about coffee. Quite literally better than the most famous coffee merchant, "SB."
Stopped in here after flying in from out of town… got some coffee and some grub. Gotta say it was all great!
I ordered for pick up - Avocado Toast. I was there exactly when they said to pick up, and my food was cold (I had eggs on it) the bread was really tough and it was way too salty. I'd suggest you go order there and wait if you want it warm, and tell them to go easy on the Sea Salt (which is on pretty much everything on the menu). -
As an update they did call me and apologize and refund my breakfast - so I give them credit for that. I tried again this morning with a different order and it was better but still not what I would have expected. I got the nut butter toast... simple. . I think maybe they toast the bread in some kind of industrial kitchen toaster that's perhaps a microwave? The toast still was tough and the bottom didn't seem toasted at all... so good for them for the excellent service and for caring about their customers. I'm adding a star for that, but there is still something lacking in the execution. I think the baked goods in the case looked really good, and if I go back, I'll just get something from there. The scones looked good. These are clearly good people - and maybe everyone else likes how they make the toast... it's certainly possible it's just me.
Food was good.
The staff had all of my attention though. IUKWIM
If you are looking for great food, then come here. They have the best Homemade Bread and other food in Asheville and definitely deserve all the love they can get!
I visit here often and always have a good experience. Staff is always nice, helpful and prompt. I like that they still have a coffee customer card and they have great coffee. Their food is delicious, my fave is their avocado toast with a fried egg. Desserts and bread are yummy. I just took home some of those homemade hummus too.
Great bread, good coffee, sweet and savory pastries, plus good selection of sandwiches with serious attention to quality ingredients and a solid
commitment to local sources! You can order ahead leastwise last time I tried I could and if you are attached to getting a specific type of bread it is advisable
I ordered the Avocado BLT and was blown away! First off it is huge, twice as big as I expected. Second it had an entire sheet of bacon that was bigger the bread in all directions. Everything else was fresh and well balanced.
Their oatmeal raisin cookies are rounded on top (not flat) which made me a little skeptical but they are hard on the outside and a little gooey in the middle in a way I have never experienced before. You must try one (or three). The ginger cookies have the perfect amount (a lot!) of spice.
I won’t get it to it but the scones are worth an entirely separate review. I don’t even like scones but I tried my wife’s blueberry one and it was so good I wished I ordered one.
I went at 10am and they were out of bread. I totally understand why. This place is worth waking up early for.
This place is a must! I had a delicious breakfast and a hard time deciding on which of the delicious looking items to take home with me. The staff was so friendly, the design of the space is warm and cozy. And service was quick even at a busy time of day.
Great pastries & friendly service. Thank you!
Excellent breads, even the day-old loaves & scones were wonderful. Coffee was rich and flavorful, and the egg/cheese biscuit was to-die-for! Made to order, and really quick. I love this little place. Their Sister bakery/pizzeria in Flat Rock always puts a smile on my face with their lovingly made food and shady outdoor tables. Very family friendly.
A little pricey, but very good quality. Amazing breakfast sandwiches and good coffee. Will definitely be going back to try other things.
The best bakery in all of the surrounding Asheville area. I like to go here two or three times a week just to drink the coffee. If you bring your own cup, it's only $2.40 versus $3.50 or more for the coffee if you get it using their cup. This coffee is so amazing. The treats are really good too. Funny story about this location, there were two other bakeries that trying to make it in the same exact location, each one after another, each going about one or two years before closing. These guys have a great name, have opened, and even expanded into the adjacent room. Now you have a great location, ample room to sit down, and all kinds of delicious pastries and treats to eat. Good times.
Delicious breakfast sandwich and coffee with casual pleasant seating area.
The coffee is decent, but the food is what keeps me coming back. I stop here almost every weekend to buy bread and fresh croissants. They always have something new to try!
They were out of croissants and bagels when I tried to order a vegetarian sandwich, but they accommodated with ciabatta bread-WHICH WAS THE FRESHEST BREAD I'VE EVER TASTED. I also had the breve coffee with oatmilk...wow. Wow, wow, and again, wow. Excellent service as well.
Died & went to Heaven with that Turkey Sandwich with Avocado Crème on delicious fresh bread. Most definitely will be back! I’m drooling….🥰❤️❤️ …
This place is Exceptional. It should be at the center of downtown Asheville. It’s in a small corner in south Fletcher. Very Rarely am I excited to go back and try everything one the menu. The place was also Immaculate.
Absolutely wonderful sandwiches. Seems a little steep at first, but the quality of the food makes it worth it everytime. Plus, you can order quickly and pay using Google services.
The coffee was wonderful! But, there are absolutely no options for gluten free food, which is a bit disappointing in today’s day and age.
Well...
I think I caught them on a rough Saturday morning.
I walked in at 10:11am and finally got my warm quiche (it was cold at first serving) and my raspberry oat bar at 10:38am.
27 minutes to wait for baked goods which are already baked and only need 10 mins in the oven, is obviously far too long.
So, why 3 stars and not 1?
There was an 8 member family which came in right in front of me and the staff was working to fill their order. I think they ordered 3 items each. So 24 items.
Also, nice people. Eternally patient people run the counter.
This was not a problem which cannot be solved by some strong front management. Maybe the owner or actual manager was out for the morning.
Yes. It was the epitome of inefficiency in action.
However, nice people, descent food and a small town atmosphere was worth it.
Just don’t be in a hurry if you go into the Village Bakery on a weekend morning...I guess.
Great coffee lox plate sandwich and pastries are divine
We love this place! Food is homemade, mostly organic and delicious!! My picky 8 year old son always asks me to go here! Definitely recommend to any and everyone.
Best coffee! But ridiculously expensive now. A crossoint, with an egg, cheese and sausage with coffee was almost $14!! Not cool.
Good food and coffee. Quiet for a good conversation
Had breakfast here for the 1st time, lox on sourdough, add egg, it was gooood, love the goat cream cheese added a nice tart flavor, and the pickled onion. Love all their bake goods. Yum, will return
Nice service and VERY good bakery items. I was in the mood for something baked, and this was awesome! I'll also admit I was VERY happy they had a vegan option. The almond cookies. They were called something else, but I forget.
Not quite what I was hoping for a $7 latte & bagel.
My "for here" beverage came out in a disposable cup which was only 3/4 full. The latte was watery and the foam felt machine produced (instead of that creamy glory that is a proper latte). Cream cheese costs the same as the bagel itself...
That said, the staff was prompt and the cream cheese volume sufficient, if obnoxiously priced. The bagel was yummy, too.
Divine! Best Americano 1/2caf heavy whip I’ve had on this extended trip! No Stevia needed. Just good coffee & cream. The bakery looks divine! All my favs. Sadly I’m grain free but wow is it tempting!
Absolutely the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. The ham and cheddar bagel was perfection. Manager was so wonderful and made sure every part of our order was perfect.
Friendly staff and a unique assortment of delicious baked goods. I love the spinach and feta croissant. They serve breakfast and lunch and offer a great space for a quick meet up with friends or coworkers.
I have been a customer here for over 2 years and have always found the pastries and sandwiches superb. I have taken boxes of their pastries, sweet and savory to work and my coworkers love them as well
I had not visited. And a little while for being so busy, but they now have. Eateries section. F a pretty good assortment of things to order to eat. The section to eat. A natural look very comforting. And comfortable. It is beautiful., so you can eat in or take out. Bakery has. Various. Sweets to eat breads are available too. The confections are not real sweet.
They have a nice selection of breads. The bread arrives in the 11-11:30am range, so get there early!
Great food and service. All fresh so get there early for all the options
I don't know much about Fletcher, but I do think that alligators are neat animals and I did have coffee while on a date at that place... The coffee was good, the ppl were friendly, the date went well I think, but unfortunately no alligators... 5 stars! 🐊 …
This place is so yummy! I got the Apple Tarte and the Peanut Butter Quinoa. OMG! the best! Trust me the PB Quinoa sounds like it wouldn't be good, but it looks & taste like a brownie! The Apple Tarte was crispy & fresh! Fresh apples with a buttery crispy crust! The Chx salad on a bed of lettuce with lemon vinaigrette dressing is yummy. The service is awesome! You'll love this place. My new go to!
What a sweet little gem tucked away in a small plaza in Fletcher! Excellent savory fare, delectable pastries, organic coffee and teas and a nice variety of artisanal breads from Flat Rock Bakery. Try the cream cheese brownies or the pecan bars - better than mom used to make!
Solid local bakery. Huge fan of the almond croissants. Good coffee drinks and friendly service.
Phenomenal custom ordered cakes. My favorite is carrot cake which is not overly sweet.
Local fruit tarts, pies, pastries, bagels, bread, cookies, sandwiches, coffee bar...
The staff are professional, knowledgeable and happy to help answer questions/make suggestions.
Delicious! Had the turkey sandwich with pesto mayo. Very flavorful with hearty amounts of turkey and cheese. Also, love the coconut macaroon with a chocolate underbelly
Neat, clean bakery and coffee venue, great prices, friendly employees. We had stopped at a well known bakery just up the road and was overwhelmed at their high prices. Glad we drove a couple of miles and stopped here, well worth it!! Will be back
The pastries we had were delicious. The coffee was good too.
Excellent coffee. Wonderful staff. Bakery items & salads worth going for.
The customer took me for lunch and was simply fantastic. I have revisited the next day. Planned to go lunch when I visit fletcher again.
Amazing! The pastries are the best I have had outside of New York! The coffee is great too!
The pastries are delicious, the coffee is nice and bold, the foods are amazing. Would recommend them highly. Plus the staff is so friendly!
Epic croissant egg sandwiches (huge), killer baked goods and top notch coffee. Will come again.
Decent bakery, food was tasty and staff was very friendly. They were out of several items and sandwich bread choices early lunchtime.
I visited fletcher village bakery while visiting Asheville and I have to say it is spectacular! The food is delicious and made in a timely manner, and the customer service is impeccable!
I had the tuna melt panini. It was great. They have expanded since I was there and have a full sit down restaurant area. They have baked goods, bread, soup, sandwiches and coffee. Great place!
Comfortable space and many delicious options. Love that they carry oatmilk.
Great food, fabulous bakery. A little outdoor seating.
The best breakfast/lunch sandwiches in town!
Great food and desserts!! My kids love when I take them there for a treat. Friendly staff and cozy.
I love their pizza and enjoy eating outside. My only complaint is that they are pricey.
Staff was not real attentive....you have to tell one person your order and then repeat it to the cashier...bread was great sandwich was ok... desserts are excellent
It was my 1st time here with a small group from church . It was a bit of a wait for our food But it was well worth the wait it was all handmade fresh and delicious
One of the best in town. I love their almond croissant, which seems to be little dry but close to real French croissant. I love it.
I love this place for breakfast and lunch, quality is good, service is friendly, and the food is delicious, way better than the chains. Support local!
Always a treat.
Fresh. Tasty. Great breakfast sanwiches and treats. Nice fresh lunch sandwiches.
Superb baked goods!!! I 💘 love their scones! They also offer some very good gluten free options! …

Great baked goods and the best hot tea I've ever had. I'll certainly be back for the tea.
Fabulous pastries and bread. Friendly staff. Nice seating area.

Great baked goods, bad customer service. Can't even get a 'thank you' here.
Wonderful food, but very overpriced and the staff always seems to be very inconvenienced by the fact that I'm ordering.
Received gift cards for the bakery. Tried them out. Everything was absolutely delicious!
Seriously the best turkey avocado sandwich I’ve ever had!
Great avocado toast. Nice folks. Comfortable cafe.
I had a rasperry scone and it was delicious! Not very warm at all though
Love the ambiance, food and drink selections and friendly helpful staff. Felt immediately at home in this space.
Solid breakfast place. Bit of a wait for how slow it was but worth it!
Everything you could want from a nice bakery. Better hours than most too.

1st time there. Tables are dirty and the coffee was out. Food was good. 1st impressions was not that geat.
This is such a wonderful little cafe. The sandwiches are delicious with generous, fresh ingredients. Their bread is delicious and their gooey chocolate chip cookies are some of the best I've had.
Our new favorite bakery and espresso spot! We are always welcomed with smiles and love. The food is great and the bread is amazing!!!!!
