I found this donut shop by accident and I am glad I did. It is very clean and bright. The donuts are lined up in the case beautifully. These donuts are HUGE. There are so many different flavors and you even get to choose the creme flavor for the creme donuts. I got the maple bacon and the blueberry cake. Both were fresh, fluffy and delicious! The woman working the counter was very friendly as well. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

Best donut shop in Asheville in my opinion. I’ve tried every single flavor of donut that is available at this shop and none of them disappoint, in fact they go above and beyond in making delicious donuts! The prices are also cheap and they have coffee available as well to enjoy with your donuts. Staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel like home every time you come in!

Never in a million years did I think I'd be writing a review on doughnuts or donuts. However you spell them. This place right here..will make you think twice before you go get in line for those frozen DD donuts or those glazed Krispy Kreme ones which are still good but this place Ava's has the best I've ever had. My absolute favorite in the two times I've been is the cinnamon crumble. Yes it's messy and it gets everywhere but the softness and deliciousness of that donut is worth all the mess it makes. It has the word crumble in it..what else would you expect? It melts in your mouth and makes you want another one. My father and I went yesterday after lunch and I had to get my cinnamon crumble. This was only the second time Id been here but my first experience was so amazingly great, I'd gladly come back. I got the last two red velvet ones for my kids and my dad got hos usual sour cream. I heard how great the bear claw is so I got the last one and my dad got an apple fritter for the next day. 6 donuts with tip out the door for $12. WORTH EVERY PENNY!🤤 I let my dad try the bear claw and that is now his new favorite. He's been there so many times to always be sold out of them and he finally was able to see how amazing they are. I'd give this place more than 5 stars if possible. Its unreal how a small shop like Ava's packed between a Salsaritas and a Starbucks can change your mind about ever wanting to wait in a drive thru for a donut. Just go here and you wont be disappointed.

Ava's Donuts is THE best donut shop that I have found in this area. They are always fresh, always moist and fluffy, and always packed with flavor. I would recommend Ava's to anyone looking for a great donut at a moderate price. If you are a serial big-chain donut eater, one trip here will change that. The staff is always friendly, the facility is always clean, and they are conveniently located right next to a Starbucks for the fancy coffee people (it's me, I'm fancy coffee people).

These donuts..... Hey you, reading this, just order some donuts and stop wondering....they're awesome. Really good fluffy donuts, large pastries, and one-offs you wouldn't expect. Got the maple bac.....baco...... Okay seriously BACON! Just eat it, and sit back in your food coma and dream of bacon, awesome. The cookies and cream was good, and so was the cinnamon sugar donut. Highly recommend for anytime of the day. Reward yourself, "you deserve a donut"

Let me tell you it has been dangerous for us since this donut shop opened! If I'm ever out and about in the morning or the early part of the day I try to stop here, they are absolutely delicious. Their yeast donuts are huge, but light, soft, and airy. The cake donuts are dense, moist, and delicious. I love that they have some unusual flavors and you can also have them fill a donut with your filling of choice. My favorites are the cinnamon crumble and the apple fritters.

I am just amazed that we never knew about this place until I was advised to go purchase donuts for my neighbor's birthday. While there, I also purchased for my hubby just to let him have a taste and now he is hooked, but they are fresh and delicious. The donuts are a little pricier than normal, but they a huge and worth the price. My only advice is don't pay with a credit card as you are charged a fee and nowhere, that I could see, is it posted advising of the extra fee! However, they still get 5 stars from me. Yes, the ladies were very friendly!!

As a first caveat, this shop closes once they are out of donuts which is almost always before their posted end time. This is because their donuts are delicious. I love that they typically have a combo of yeast and cake donuts because I’m a cake donut person and my partner is a yeast donut person. Also, the times I’ve come in near the end of their day, if I pick up 6 for friends, they almost always throw in an extra donut or some spare donut holes for free, because the women who work the front desk are very sweet.

Ava's made 7 doz donuts for my wedding last weekend and everything was delicious! They included a great variety, were super easy to pre-order with, and had everything ready to pick up! Thankfully we have some leftovers to enjoy and they still taste amazing! Thank you guys so much!

I have never had donuts so big, soft and fluffy! They were delicious, the ladies behind the counter were kind and polite, and the wait was short. No idea why so many people line up for Starbucks; they should be coming next door and getting Ava's Donuts instead! I will be stopping here anytime I'm in Asheville from now on.

Okay so I apologize for the partially eaten donut, but half way through eating it I thought "I have GOT to post a review and show people how light and airy these donuts are!"...I had the maple bacon glazed donut and it was the best I've ever had. We got three donuts for 4.50 and they threw in some donut holes for good measure ☺️. Please help these guys stay in business.

Absolutely delicious donuts! We got an assorted dozen, each one was delicious. They have an option to fill your donut with various fillings. I got the "maple bacon" on a whim, and it ended up being my favorite one. I highly recommend!

Whether you’re a local or just visiting, definitely come support Ava’s! The quality of the donuts is consistently superb and they never leave me feeling weighed down like Krispy Kreme or other places. The prices are awesome and the owners are super nice. Everything I’ve tried has been great, but like others have said, the apple fritter is the freakin’ BOMB. Try it out!

I finally stopped by Ava's Donuts and I am so glad I did! I asked for a half dozen mixed donuts, and they were fluffy, airy, the flavors were very good! The donuts were perfect to enjoy with my coffee and as an afternoon snack. I'm looking forward to picking up eclairs and working my way through each tasty offering. It's a good thing sweater weather is around the corner! 😄 Support small business! The shop is clean, the employees are polite, and Ava's baked goods are so much better tasting and prices than chain stores. Highly recommend this shop!

We happened upon this place traveling home from vacation. I am so happy that we bought a dz for the road. Oh my! Pure deliciousness! I'm not a big apple fritter person, but those turned out to be my favorite! We also enjoyed that you got to pick a glazed or powdered sugar donut and then choose the filling. She filled the donuts while we watched. Every donut that we ate was just as good (often better) than the last. I would be tempted to drive 2 hrs from home to pickup more of this deliciousness. I sure hope this bakery sticks around. Go and support them. You'll be pleased that you did. We were even impressed with the price, compared to chain bakeries.

Wow. I've lived 2 minutes from this place for almost a year now and have not made it over until today. I was not disappointed and wish I had been coming for the past year. The yeast donuts are light, fluffy, and delicious. The cake donuts are more dense but still airy and fluffy. The chocolate covered Long John is filled to order (I chose regular white buttercream) and it was amazing. The two women working the counter were so friendly and even threw in a few donut holes for free with our order.. This place is a must try!

Donuts are one of my top pleasures & these did not disappoint. I tried a chocolate glazed one & I loved the ratio of icing to donut, it was perfect. I was also a big fan of the thickness of the dough. Not only did I truly enjoy the donut, but the box it came in told me I deserved it. I did deserve that donut, and so do you. We all deserve donuts. The Apple Fritters are amazing! All of then were good but the fritter was the best. Edit. I love them more today than when I first wrote this review. I highly recommend the red velvet cake donuts. I don't even like cake donuts and they are Awesome! The fritter dominates the donut case but try an apple filled bear claw. Those rank high as well. The ladies working are awesome as well! We drove over an hour- out of state to try this place. We didn’t try any fall flavors on our trip yesterday, but WOW. THIS is the donut spot. Forget Krispy Kreme. We got an assorted dozen. The cinnamon twists are to die for. The filled donuts ACTUALLY have filling in them from the first bite. The blueberry and chocolate cake are amazing. Employee was professional. Store was clean. Donuts are okay but they are 3 dollars higher than Dunkin for 1/2 dozen and they charge more for certain "bigger" donuts and the taste is good but cost more. I get it is a business trying to compete but their location is probably high rent...bad business choice... and they really don't have any better donuts than the chain or Duck donuts which is way overpriced but very good, I guess if your rich and money isn't an issue than yea they are good but I will just pay a lot less and go back to Dunkin.

We live in Biltmore Park & wanted to support our local business AVA'S DOUGHNUTS! I must say these were the best doughnuts I have ever had. The doughnuts are So Fresh & not over drowned with sugar. We live in Charlotte 2hours 30 minutes away, so I looked up the best dounuts in Asheville and Ava's come up. The pictures sold us and we were excited. Excellent donuts, Apple fritters, cinnamon buns. Prices are very reasonable and some items were so large we had left overs the next day and they still tasted great. Will be a regular stop every few days. Much better than Dunkin, Ingles, Krispy Creme or even the overpriced artisan ones from Vortex or Hole.

The cinnamon crumble donut is awesome. Not too sweet, perfect bite. Messy as all get out. The fritter, which brought me here, is solid, but the cinnamon crumble was the star. They take card, but only over $5. So bring cash if you're only getting one or two.

Fantastic donuts! The apple fritters are huge with actual apple chunks in them. The cinnamon rolls are massive, and the long johns are at least twice the size of Dunkin's version...AND you have a choice of filling. I chose blueberry and it was filled from end to end unlike other donut shops that put just a dollop in the center. Will be back as soon as my blood sugar stabilizes!

I went to Ava's after seeing people talking about it on FB. I am not a fan of DD or KK donuts. Really, I rarely eat donuts. That might change now. So light and fluffy. Such tastiness. The donut holes may have been a religious experience for me. ( don't judge) So yeah...get the donuts. Special note: the filled donuts are filled when you order them, so no soggy grossness. My tastebuds are currently erecting a shrine in honor of Ava's.

Awesome doughnuts!! Support the locals. We tried the red velvet, Oreo, maple bacon, pinecone and raspberry jelly filled chocolate frosted doughnuts. Red velvet and maple bacon were my personal favorites. They were all great, though.

These are the best donuts in WNC, and I will stand by that all day long. Particularly if you are a cake donut lover, as you should be, you need to get in there. But their yeast donuts are as good as any you'll find as well.
