We found this gem in Alaska. Amazing pastries. The dough was perfect. We are from Hawaii but I think we can not find this good croissant in there. ☀️⛱ The price is reasonable. Not so crowded. Plenty of parking spaces. 🚗 The only thing I didn’t like is the athmosphere is not matching with the quality of the products. The bread beaked fresh at 11am and 4pm. 🥖 They have tables for dine-in. The staff is very friendly. 🙌

I simply love going here for a quick snack. My go to is the brown sugar boba and Alaskan chowder which is basically clam chowder with smoked salmon. It also comes with a fresh baked baguette. I definitely recommend you stopoing in for the other sweet treats they offer daily baked right in house.

Yummy pastries, Sammy’s, and chowder!! We love it here. You have to arrive at a good peak baked goods time to get the best selection. Small space so ordering out or on the go while running errands is great.

Banmis were delicious and very crispy bread! Perfect amount of spice. Baked goods were fantastic. But the most surprising thing was the bobas were the most flavorful I’ve ever had; did not taste like watered down tea that I’ve always had! Wallop of flavor, just like all there dishes. Will eat here again.

Got the Grilled Pork Banh Mi.. it is everything I want in a banh mi. Crusty and flaky packed with amazing flavor. The meat marinade is so flavorful as is the pickled veggies. Just enough fresh veggies to add a nice crunch and it has the prefect amount of heat. Will be back to try the other banh mi sandwiches!

Outstanding strawberry croissants!! Definitely stop in here when in Anchorage, they have a nice variety of pastries. A good croissant is hard to come by, crispy on the outside and light as air, and the addition of strawberry knocked this outta the park!

This was a complete shock to find European quality flaky pastry at Benji's in Anchorage Alaska (they didn't even over sweeten!) Decadent crispy flake, flavors added to highlight but not overtake, slight sweetness that still allows the pastry to shine, this is what I consider great pastry. --> Bear Claw with Frangipane and almonds (have never had one so light and flaky!) --> Raspberry Cheese Danish (taste the cheese and fresh fruit! No syrupy glaze.) --> Cinnamon Sugar Cruffin (croissant pastry formed into a swirl and baked in a muffin tin) --> Classic Croissant (saving this for breakfast) 😁 They also have an extensive drinks menu including coffees, teas, boba and juice. I had a Thai Iced-Tea with coconut milk and that too was one of the best I've ever had. Add it to your travel list!

I’m so happy to find this place before leaving Anchorage! To be able to support local stores like this is a must for everyone! And please come in early! I’m glad I did because by the time I left, line started to spiral out. I had their Nutella Monkey bread! OMG! Delish! The matcha boba was good, it was not too sweet just how I like my boba tea. I will definitely comeback here when I’m in Anchorage again! And try their coffee and guava cheese roll next time!

#DATCRUNCH We're visiting from Houston, TX and y'all I live in Chinatown, this bread is amazing - all their breads have a consistently light, crispy crunch. We tried everything on the menu and everything slaps. From the banh mi's to the chowder to the pastries to the boba drinks, you can't go wrong.

Pastries were wonderful, unfortunately they hardly had any ready upon opening, and the employee behind the counter wasn't really helpful explaining what they had to offer, especially since I told him it was my first time in and I wasn't sure what the options were (lots of specialty items). Instead of telling me what was ready he just showed me the list of options and let me order and then tell me it wasn't available, this happened 3 times in a row. Luckily what I finally got was really good. The guy that rang me up was sweet too.

I recently visited Benji's Bakery & Cafe and was blown away by their delicious pastries and sandwiches. The cruffins were some of the fluffiest and softest I've ever had and if you didn't know, that's a croissant baked in a muffin pan, they come with a squeezable flavor injector and you didn't know you needed this in your life until you bite into one. The candy striped pastries were texturally interesting and delicious. Their bahn mi sandwiches also stood out with their crisp, fresh veggies. And I can't get enough of their milktea drinks. I highly recommend stopping by Benji's for a tasty treat!

We had higher hopes. A bakery with out bread and pastries? I can understand not wanting to waist materials, but not having any dough won't get you any dough. They had as many employees as customers, but most of what we heard was "out of those and sold out of that." Oh...and the statement that "we sell out of those by 300 or 330pm daily" was made... Well if your open past 330, then shouldn't you make more?

Clean. Nice staff. Had Strawberry Lychee Boba Tea- I would ask for half syrup next time but I'm don't like things super sweet. The pork sandwich was not impressive but not bad. Tip- Make sure and ask to have your sandwich cut in half to make it easier to eat. The star of the show was the Matcha cream puff 😍 Pictures of this yummy fluff included... it is messy and about the same size as my face and super good. I would go back to try other bakery items as that seems to be where their real strength is- yum 😋

Everything is delicious! Love their croissants, sandwiches, and boba drinks. If coming here for the first time I recommend trying their pastries such as the cruffins which is a cross between a muffin and a croissant, so good!

Really nice service and the pastries are amazing. Had the strawberry, pistachio and Nutella... All were really good. Also had their pork and cha Lua which was really good too. The milk tea with boba was really sweet. There was already a line before opening but worth the wait.

I love this Bakery! Ube anything is delicious from here, my favorite is the Ube Swiss Roll yum. But the main reason I come here is for the iced tea's. I'm not a fan of Boba but theirs is homemade and from what I've heard, absolutely delicious. But I recommend the Pomegranate Iced Tea with extra popping pearls!!!!

So I came a few days after they had their grand opening. It was lunch time on a tuesday and there was a ton of people here. The store is a little cramped during busy times like that day. It reminds me of a low-tier Californian boba shop, however it's definitely the best if not one of the best boba shops in Alaska. Theres a ton of parking in the lot

We were visiting Anchorage, Alaska for the first time and we were so lucky to stop at Benji's Bakery and Cafe. Our 6 year old had seen several pictures of their delicious looking bakery goods online and we were able to make her wish come true and took her there on our last day in Alaska. We tried the tea and baked items and we love them. It was something, we had not tried before. I just wish we could have a Benji's Bakery & Cafe in our home town. Exceptional customer service.

I recently discovered this place, it is so good. It has a very modern Cali Asian vibe . Everyone that works there looks like a super model. My favorite things are the ham sandwich, matcha blast, coconut taro, and these little swirl cakes purple and strawberry flavor. The pastries are so good flaky fresh not too sweet. Come here you wont regret it.

So far I only tried the boba slush which tasted pretty good, just was a bit too sweet for me and it was pretty watery. They ran out of chowder by the time I got there so I’m planning on going back to try other items on the menu, the service was really nice!

The drinks here are great, probably my favorite for boba or milk tea in town. The service is fast and friendly and their bakery offers a selection of Filipino and other sweets. The sandwiches are hit or miss, but for their price ($9 each) they're good.

It's a great place to get boba(taro is my favorite here) and pastries that aren't too sweet. But it's only good if you do take-out, the place itself isn't suitable to stay in and enjoy the products, it's busy with very little sitting space.

I live Benji’s! It’s one of my favorite lunch spots in Anchorage. Service can be a bit slow when they are busy but it’s worth it. The pastries are unique/beautiful/high quality/delicious. The bahnmi is flavorful and on fresh bread. The bubble teas are great. Go and support this small business! There is nothing else like it in Anchorage.

I just love, love, LOVE, Benjis! I've been going for almost a year now. I had always seen the store and it took a friend's recommendation for me to go. Took a few visits to find out what drink and pastry I love the most, but eventually I found them! There are always familiar faces and kind smiles when you enter. Sometimes they'll be a little busy but they still obviously are trying their best to make sure you're taken care of. The atmosphere is chill and makes you feel comfortable. Since I'm pretty much a regular, and sometimes call in my orders, I started to get recognized. Made it all the sweeter knowing they start to remember their customers. This is one of the best places I have ever gotten serviced from, and I really recommend it.

My family adores this place. It is the best bakery in town. Everything on their menu is amazing. My mom and I went to try their CroDoughs (I think that is what they are called- a croissant combined with a donut) and I have a video of me with tears rolled down my face- it was THAT good. I know that sounds overdramatic, but I promise that it happened. I tried adding the video to this review but I couldn't unfortunately. Point is: they are fantastic and they have my business for life!

If you want to try something new outside of cupcakes zone, this is a nice pastry store. From my perspective, they are focused on puff pastry with various flavors, but also have some nice sandwiches and flavored drinks. Great place, give it a shot.

Delicious pastries and drinks. Favorite is the iced caramel macchiato with bobas! Staff is super friendly and helpful too. My one complaint is that there isn't a separate drink/food versus pastry line. Nothing worse than wanting to order quick but getting stuck behind a group of people asking about every single pastry and waiting for them to pick one.

It's a toss up... As far as the bakery goes it's one of the better ones in town, with some unique & delicious creations. But the boba teas are some of the worst I've ever had (watery, over soft boba, undissolved flavor powders). Also they open way too late in the day for a bakery (read: not for breakfast). But they're a great dessert option after having dinner at pho-natic a couple doors down.

Crowded over the weekend when we visited. Not sure if that was because of the lil car show out front or a typical Saturday morning. But the pastries we tried were MMM mmm MMM... With a tropical twist to the pastries, they gave it that little bit of flare and separated them from the rest. I missed having boba after living in upstate NY, so i had to get my favorite flavor--taro. The boba/pearls, were perfect and chewy. The taro flavor was sooo good. Mine was soy based, so not sure what the other milk bases would taste like... So many things we need to come back and try.

There milk bobas are really tasty. Roasted chicken sandwich, pork/chicken buns are good. I have yet to try any of there pastries. Gentlemen working cashier should smile more, he didn’t seem to happy to be there

This place is unreal. I went in for lunch and could not resist all the impressive looking colorful pastries, I ended up leaving with 3. The pork Banh Mi looked and tasted amazing, it was the perfect blend of fresh flavors. The signature pomegranate boba tea was freshly made in-house and was like no boba tea I have ever had before, light, refreshing and not too sweet. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful answering all my questions. The decor was upscale and modern with plenty of seating for dine in. 10/10 worth checking out!

A couple times I ordered the tropic like it’s hot, they used stale mangos for it, and one time they forgot to add sugar. When it’s made right it’s perfect, but it lacks a little consistency in the quality, and it’s making me going there less and less.

I came here with my sister just to try for drinks till I saw the pastries. I bought an almond sort of bread and Tropic it like it's hot (green tea with pineapple, hibiscus flower, mango, and orange). I thought the almond bread pastry was going to be super sweet but it exceeded my expectations and it was at a perfect sweetness! The flavor combined was outstanding! Bread is cooked well too. As for my drink, I was hit with the aroma. It was super refreshing and satisfying and it's been the perfect drink I've been looking for for the past hot summer days we've been having. I tried my sister's boba milk tea and I gotta say, it does taste the same as boba tree BUT, the drink is cold because of the amount of ice they put compared to boba tree and the after taste really put me in a great mood. I almost forgot to mention but I did also order a sandwich they called, Banh Mi. This is really popular with vietnamese, thai, and Lao people. (Probably more Asian countries but I've never been to them) the bread. Exceeded my expectations once again, its crispy on the outside when you bite into it you reach the fluffiness of the bread. The flavor I tasted from the veggies in that sandwich was fresh. The sauces combined with it was spectacular, and complimented each other. It is a small shop, but I do highly recommend this place. I'm coming back with my boyfriend next time!

I was driving down Dimond around 6pm last evening en route to another bakery/deli (which turned out to be closed) when I saw a sign for a new "bakery and cafe" next to Phonatic Vietnamese restaurant, (also owned by Benji, the owner of the Bakery) so I pulled in and parked. There was a line that went outside the door, which to me was a very good sign, and as it turned out, it was! The bakery had re-opened after it's short 2 hour (3-5pm) closing to replenish its supply, and the items were already selling fast. It seemed most of the customers were already regulars, and they gave me information about the various menu items, which were all tantalizing beautiful and clearly very fresh. I have never seen such large, full, and gorgeous croissants, in several flavors (incl peach, orange cream, plain, chocolate); as well as pistachio and cream and chocolate chip and cream pastries, sticky buns, almond sticky buns, boba, bah mi, and more. The sandwiches are delicious: the bread is light as air inside, crispy on the outside, and so fresh. Bagels were on the menu just below the ceiling, but were not being offered last evening. For drinks I bought a pomengranate, and a peach ice tea, which were delightful. There are many different drinks which I plan to try next trip. The baked items here are in my opinion the freshest, lightest, most unique, and delicious in Anchorage. And I understand the choices will continue to expand. The staff is very friendly and personable. They smile and engage with the customers. The owner, Benji, apparently saw me struggling with a big box of food items and a carrier with the iced tea, and came out to my car to help me. We then discussed at length how he developed the bakery and cafe and his desire for high quality products. It is a happy place. There are tables and chairs for in-store eating, as well as take out.

Benji's is offensively good. Cruffins are absurdly delicious and inventive. All of their pastries are bonkers sized and the kind of thing you crave towards the end of a big hike. Lived in Anchorage for years before I found out about this place. Legit banh mi sandwiches and some good boba style teas.

Saw the place advertising macchiato boba drinks on instagram and we decided to give it a try. We got the macchiato boba drink, milk tea, 3 different cruffins and a strawberry shortcake croissant thing. We were blown away by everything! Will definently be back/regulars now. The milk tea is probably the best I have had up here, could really taste the tea. I wanna try the fruity pebble cruffin, I know it will be amazing!

This place is a gem in the heart of anchorage. The fresh made bread for the banh mi is comparable to the gods' manna. I wasn't sure if waiting in the long line in the crowded restaurant would be worth it, BUT IT SO WAS. The pastries? Delicious. The teas? Delicious. The banh mi? Delicious. The customer service? Friendly. The owner came out to talk to us as we were eating and gave us a little run down of the place, told us some secrets for the bread, shared his inspiration for opening the restaurant.. it made for a really cool experience. I would have been ecstatic if that was all my visit consisted of, but I decided I wanted to get a box of pastries to-go after I inhaled my banh mi. The owner noted that I was back for more and hooked it up. He pulled out the fresh out of the oven taro buns so I could try one and I am now swimming in bliss as I devour chocolate croissant, chocolate almond coconut danish, taro buns, and lychee filled croissant. If you're not sure, just go. It's worth the hype.

Great atmosphere, reasonable prices for phenomenal food, and friendly, quick service. The Pork Bit & Cha Luna sub tastes like a spring roll, but with BBQ-like pork chunks and deli meat. The Alaskan clam chowder is bomb, the purple yam Swiss rolls is a heavenly cake and whipped cream desert. We also got the strawberry cheesecake GIANT, croissant.. soooo delish. And the Mango, coconut milk Boba Slush smoothie was the most refreshing smoothie at 24 oz. Great modern pop jams playing on the speakers and charging ports at every chair. You can't go wrong with any order here.

Great food, deserts and drinks at fair prices. Excellent location, but ufortunately the store is small for its locale. With two major traffic arties, a majorhiggway close by with an exit to a major shopping area, a bigger store would be inorder. Benji's Bakery has the best Boba in Anchorage. Anytime family visits this is one of our first stops! The food is great as well.
