Reviews of A Pie Stop

All of the baked goods I’ve tried from them have all been so delicious, the crust is so flaky and buttery and everything has such good flavor. The staff is always so nice and caring. I’d recommend trying an Alisa’s signature pie if you haven’t! The savory pies are one of my favorites as well.

The old man Steve is very courteous and hard working. I love every pie and here and I highly recommend the chicken pot pies. I like to mix my crust all together in the pot pie. 😉 be sure to get there early because they sell out fast. Thank you …

I went for a single treat, and there's many to choose from. I got a millionaire shortbread bar and it was exceptional! I've had pie in the past and also have great memories of that. I'm so happy this local place survived the pandemic.

I can't really rate it as I wasn't able to purchase anything. Went in looking for cinnamon rolls. Was told I have to order them ahead and there's a minimum order size of 12! Wish I'd known that before driving over there. Hopefully this will help someone else to know that.

I had some friends in from out of town and one of them had a craving for blueberry pie. We had been eating berries on the trails all week and he wanted to experience Alaskan blueberries in pie form. The pie from this shop did not disappoint.
Not only was the pie delightful but the lady helping us was so friendly. She informed me that if I wanted a cream pie to just giver her 45min and she would have it ready for pick up. She even said that she can custom make the cream pie!!! For example, a chocolate, peanut butter, banana pie. MIND BLOWN!!! Great little place. Hidden gem!

Uhm these pies a delicious. I was worried that the pot pies that they sell two days a week wouldn’t be good because some sweet folks can’t make savory things but it was amazing.
Small pies were 11$ each. We got pumpkin and key lime. Loved them both. I would have added a tad more spices but that’s cause I am a spice-a-holic.
My fam loved it

This place looked like a small shop from the outside... but inside it's a cozy, inviting place, with comfortable seats and yellow walls- very warm and inviting! I had the strawberry rhubarb pie, the perfect combination of sweet and tangy! Highly recommended!

Yesterday my sister and I called in a pickup order for a coconut custard pie and got it only 15 mins before closing. (Sorry!) however the owner was very nice and accommodating to our last minute craving and was very nice at pick up.
I didn’t even get a picture of the pie because between me, my sister, and my husband, the pie was gone before the thought even crossed my mind. It was so good!!
We didn’t stay to eat, but the atmosphere in the store seemed very friendly and gave that feeling of a friendly small town shop that I’ve missed since leaving my home town. I’ll definitely be bringing my family every time they visit from now on.

This place is a gem! I have had their lunch specials and all of them are so hearty/delicious.
Their pasties are my favorite. They have changed a lot in the years that they have been open (for the good).
I had a not so great pie once (years ago) and the crust they got now are definitely not from the same butter :)
If you haven’t visited, do. If you had a bad exp., try again.
Call to see if they have pasties (they are on certain days)

A Pie Stop is locally owned, they bake fresh each day, everything is unbelievably tasty...so why am I alone here? The rent is $4000 a month, doesn’t include utilities, that’s a lot of pies. Time for everyone to become a customer at this grandfather/granddaughter operation. Steve bought the bakery for Alisa when she graduated from the Anchorage School District’s King Career Center Culinary School a few years ago. Steve said he knew Alisa was passionate about baking since she was 4 and helped he and his wife when they ran the Chokecherry Inn in Fairbanks. She was also a regular at UAA’s summer Culinary Camp program. All her training amply readied her for this business venture. A Pie Stop rotates 27 varieties of pies, savory/cream/fruit, 6 days a week and offer local tea and coffee from Indigo and Caffe D’arte. Everything here is made with love and the aroma alone is worth the trip. They donate often to school auctions and nonprofit events and the great word of mouth about this place is spreading. But after four years building the business under the current ownership, with Steve pretty much volunteering, they would appreciate your patronage!

We stop at Korean restaurants and my husband want to have a piece of Coconut cream pie but the small one. They didn't have one on shelf, so we got the fresh one in 10 mins!!! I just think they are so nice to doing that for us.

This isn't just a pie stop, this is THE pie stop. There were some pies there. They were delicious! Absolutely amazing. There was no cake because cake is gross. All hail pie and rejoice!

This place is amazing. Thursdays are Mexican pot pie day. I can't tell you how good these are. I dream of them. And the triple berry pie oh lord there are none better. If you are in the mood for pie come here. You won't be disappointed.

Really kind owner and amazing pies! I originally bought two small pies and after tasting one in the car I turned around and bought two more. The owner was lovely to chat with and I will definitely be back for more pies in the future.

We were visiting from the Midwest and in search of the best pie in Alaska. These folks have the best pies ever. We bought three small pies - blubarb (blueberry and rhubarb), triple berry (raspberry, blueberry and blackberry) and a key lime (rare find in Alaska). They were all delicious and the crust was to die for. The sprinkle of sugar on the top of the berry pies was especially enticing. I could eat these pies every day. The owner/dough maker was so sweet and helpful. Now back in Indiana and wish I had a warm piece of his pie. The crust was fantastic. Judy G.

These pies are amazing. Never been the biggest pie person but when I saw a store fully devoted to pie I figured I had to at least give it a shot. OMG!!! I cannot even begin to explain how this pie is so perfect. I consumed it in one day. No regrets. And then I literally thought about it everyday until I finally went back. I tried triple berry and strawberry rhubarb. Absolutely phenomenal. Perfect flaky crust and fresh delicious fruit filling. 100% recommend

I purchased a cherry and strawberry-rhubarb pie this evening and they were both AMAZING! The crust was flaky and the filling was perfectly balanced and not cloyingly sweet. They were so helpful and patient as I came in just prior to closing. What a great pie shop, I’ll be returning soon for another cherry pie!

Last year right before everything shut down for Covid I traveled from Colorado to visit my sister and we got pies from Pie Stop. OMG best pie I've ever had, best crust, all around wonderful. Now I'm trying to figure out how my sister can mail me some pies. Cannot find equal quality in Colorado Springs!

Best pie I've had in Anchorage! (Though Simon and Seaforts has a killer key lime). Bought a triple berry pie and it's the first time I've enjoyed the crust as much as the filing. Yes, they're expensive unless you consider that it's a dessert for 6-8 people. The shop itself isn't fancy but clean and service was quick. I plan on trying some of their other flavors.

I regularly get pies here for my office. The pies are delicious!
My only complaint would be that today when I made my order in the to go window and politely asked the gentleman to repeat the last pie he named he told me I needed to pay attention. I thought that was uncalled for. There is a lot of road noise. My car was turned off. I was paying attention. He needs to speak at a volume that someone outside in their car can hear.

My family came in on a Saturday and was utterly impressed by the delicious pies and friendly service! We were warmly welcomed by Christian, a kind and outgoing server. We shared a seafood pot pie, which was enchanting. I'd never had a pot pie with seafood rather than meat - this one made me an instant fan! Crab, shrimp, and salmon nestled with creamy rice and peas, all in one of the best buttery, flaky crusts I've had in a while. A savory sensation! We had to get a mini dessert pie to take home, and settled on triple berry. Even the excellence of our lunch didn't fully prepare me for the delight of what I would experience: this heavenly baked good blew me away. Berry pie is one of my all time favorite foods on earth, and I've had some dang good slices in my day. A Pie Stop's ranks right up there with the best of 'em. I'm already dreaming about coming back!

Best pies I’ve ever had in my life!

We picked up a coconut cream pie and a key lime pie for Thanksgiving. The coconut cream was good and the key lime was fantastic!!! We've had their apple and cherry pies previously. Very flaky crust and tasty pie fillings.
Corrina Chang
Best key lime pie!! The crust is crisp and delicious. I am not from Anchorage and from a big city. This pie shop is unique and has a good energy. I came here twice while I was in town bc the pies are tasty. I love supporting small businesses bc they help the community thrive!! Love love love and I highly highly recommend!!!!

Delicious! Visiting from the lower 48 and a Pie Stop has the best strawberry rhubarb pie I’ve ever had. Thanks so much!
Sarah Burtner
The peach pie was absolutely gorgeous and had the best filling I've ever tasted! Unfortunately, our family was very disappointed in the gluten-free crust. It was bland, tough, and nothing like the tender, crusty ones I make at home with butter and a GF flour blend. We live very close by and would love to patronize your shop regularly. Let us know if you offer other GF options!
Allison Wheatley
Yummy pies! Savory and sweet. Get there early to get your favorite, or come later and discover a new one. If you really love pie, ask Steve for their Signature special. You won't be disappointed.
Joshua Erspamer
Great food. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Recommended.

The pies are fantastic and there's a decent variety. I've only been a walk-in and usually towards the end of the day, but what they have available is always great.
Jeffrey Stamerjohn
Great pies! Banana Cream is my favorite, although you need to call and order it before you get there.
Lisa Rosano
The chicken pot pie is divine. Pie Stop is a no fuss diner that serves up stunning sweet and savory pies. A good pie takes talent.
Chad Sherwood
What a pleasant place! The older gentleman behind the counter made me feel like family, we chatted for a while and just had a good time. I would highly recommend stopping in and trying some pie and enjoying the vibe!

I called from Batesville Indiana and with in minutes I connected with Dawn. I wasn't looking to order pies but within minutes of our conversation I knew the Pie Company would fit my request. My youngest son birthday was March 11th. Because he can't come home like years past for his birthday I was calling different bakiers to find someone that would be willing to take my precious son something for his birthday. Without hesitation Dawn was that person. She went above and beyond and delivered 2 beautiful apple pies my son veery favorite, with a ballon that said happy birthday and sent me pictures. I am so pleased and grateful for what she did for me and my son. Not only will I call again when I come to Alaska this summer to visit; I am coming to buy pies and meet wonderful Dawn. Also, my boy said he wasn't sharing his pies and was taking them home. He loved the pies and I am sure they will be visiting the Pie Company.
One happy mama all the way all the way from Indiana. Thank You and God Bless You Dawn

Not only are the pies amazing, but they were ready 6hrs early--oops sorry for coming early, but we got a piece in before lunch!!
Grant Hartwig
Great pies. They are pricey but you get what you pay for. I would definitely buy this for a gift or to bring to a party. $27 a pie is steep for me but the pies are worth it.

"I'm here for the pie." I ate in. It was good. I wish it was served on a dish instead of a Styrofoam bowl. But seriously? Homey slices of pie and hot drinks from a drive through window? Yeah, I'll be back.
Creta Bloxom
Excellent pie. My husband bought cherry pie for my birthday and it was so good. Pretty and delicious
Jennifer Alger
Had a strawberry pie from there... it was delicious! Way better than Fred Meyers or Carrs. Their crusts is amazing.

My Fiancee and I have been trying to come in for a while now and were pleasantly surprised at the clean neat appearance and the wide selection of deserts. The prices were incredible and the food was amazing. Five stars for sure!!!

I just walked in for an espresso. Hands down excellent! Very friendly people.
Autumn Beatty
The pie is out of this world! The service, however, is terrible! I don’t appreciate being treated like an imposition! Will probably not come here again because of the way we were treated.
Scott Smith
I've only done the savory pie which I loved but also I appreciate how they are taking covid seriously! Will go again.
Lee Jones
I love rhubarb pie and this is as good as my grandmother's...never thought I would say that about any pie, let alone rhubarb.
