I have been a customer for five years. These guys are old school and they are very, very good. On a few occasions they have told me to wait for service when most businesses will try to just get you in and tell you the sky is falling. Recently the dealership told me I needed brakes front and rear. Chris and his mechanics said I only needed front brakes, that's called honesty and integrity. While there they figured out what was causing a slight shimmy in the steering wheel. Their prices are always on the lower side for estimate, you can't go wrong with them. I can't recommend them enough!!!

Auto shops make me nervous. Go in for something simple, next your being sold on what you'll need today or you'll be in an accident tomorrow. But I went in for brakes, oil change, and wiper blades. Guy tells me my brakes are good for now. Where somewhere else would simply change the brakes for a quick buck. I appreciate their honesty, courtesy, and professionalism. I would recommend to anyone, and plan on coming back for the brakes when necessary.

If you are looking for honest, quality work at fair and honest prices, look no further. I can’t tell you the number of times they told me “you don’t need that” service or “you already had that done”. Chris and the crew have kept my 16 year old (280k) car running well and saved me plenty of money. Not once have I left there feeling misled or taken advantage of and other shops could stand to take a lesson from Certified Automotive in customer service and quality work. I’d give them a well-deserved “10 star” rating, if I could. Stop wasting time searching for a shop you can trust and afford and make the call.

Great service and trustworthy staff. Twice I have requested services and they told me I didn’t need them yet, or explained a less expensive alternative that produced the same results. I’m not accustomed to garages actively trying to save me money, and because of that and that I have never had one single complaint of a repair they have done, I won’t take my vehicles anywhere else. In top of that, they treat you like a human being. They don’t talk down to you, and appreciate your business. They have treated my family well for quite some time. It’s great to have peace of mind when it comes to auto repair.

The prices I was quoted at the dealership to fix my car were extremely high. A friend highly recommended that I give Certified Automotive a call. I spoke with Rob there who was friendly & extremely helpful! They arranged to have my car towed around noon & had it repaired that afternoon; for a much more reasonable price! After my Great experience with them, I will Definitely be using them for any future car repairs I have. My permenant go to place for my cars. Had several issues with my GF's Ford Edge. Diagnostics for ABS / Traction lights. Replace front right axel. Replace broken body linkage and replace rear wheel bearings. Gave the ok for repairs at 1:30 PM and was picking the car up at 3:45 PM with all work completed with professionalism. Chris Jr was super friendly, informative and knowledgeable of the work to be completed and all at a very fair price. Thank You guy's and will see our business in the future !

I have been a loyal customer of Chris & Chucks for half my life ! My dad trusted them with all our household vehicles and we referred anyone who needed a trustworthy mechanic. To this day, I trust no one but Certified and their crew to handle my vehicle maintenance needs. They really do treat me and my family like a part of their family. They have never steered me wrong nor have I ever felt taken advantage of as a woman, as I do not have a clue about cars except how to put it in gear and drive it ! I am always on a budget and I love that they are always honest as to what maintenance my car needs and what can wait, so that I have time to plan my finances for the bigger services. Chris, Matt and the staff mechanics extraordinaire at Certified Automotive Inc., are the best automotive facility in DELAWARE and in my mind the best in the nation! They provide not only exceptional service and expertise , but a safe, non intimidating, welcoming atmosphere for us women who have limited automotive knowledge and rely on the honesty of those we entrust our vehicle to. I started bringing my car to them and then suggested my mother bring her older vehicle inherited from my grandmother that had numerous wiring and repair issues from previous botched work. My 60 + yr old mother loves going to the shop, knowing they will give her the best option available, prolong the life of the vehicle, give her suggestions to decrease the need for repairs and will work on her vehicle without judgement and are relentless in locating the problem to ensure the safety and comfort of those riding in the vehicles. Chris, Matt and the staff never inflate their labor costs or the price of parts needed. They try to keep costs to a minimum if at all possible and they will work with you about the priority of the repairs if unexpected costs do arise. We have never experienced a quality company like Certified Automotive and we will continue to bring our vehicles, and encourage co-workers, friends, and family to also experience the magic once you walk through those doors. Chuck and Chris are the best auto mechanics in the state. I had a battery leak which did incredible destruction to my vans wires. Chuck and Chris explained the costs and spent several days fixing the van. After the work was done my bill was about $700.00 and I didn't have all the money just yet and they let me take my van and come back and paid them when I had it. Great guys and you can trust them.

I needed to get work done on my car and needed something convenient to where I work. I found Certified Automotive via a Google search and took my car there today. I could not have been more pleased with my experience from the time I called to schedule, to drop off and pickup these guys are doing it right. As soon as I walked in to drop off my vehicle I was greeted pleasantly as opposed to so many other automotive locations where the "office" is not given a 2nd thought. Shortly after drop off I heard from the mechanic who went over what they found and even explained why I didn't need some of the work I thought was due for my vehicle at this time rather than billing me for unnecessary work. The bill was quite reasonable and the car was ready quickly, not much more I could have asked for. If you are looking for a mechanic in the area do yourself a favor and give them a chance, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Couldn't have possibly been better. I had an emergency situation with a damaged and leaking brake-line. Even though they were very busy they squeezed me in. I had only been to Certified Automotive once before and that experience was very good also. I took my vehicle in for work and i put a bad review up because i thought something was done wrong but when the establishment contacted me i did not give them a chance to make it right and i was wrong for that, long story short i bought a new car and brought it into them for work because my family lives by this establishment. We talked about the review and i was wrong so the company fixed my car a 2003 ford taurus and it runs like it is brand new. Not only did they still fix my car and help me out after i gave them a bad review but they even gave me a discount and helped me out financially where they could. Certified Automotive is the best place for car repairs, both minor and major and regular maintenance too. I've been going to them now for almost 7 years and won't go anywhere else. Besides being true professionals, they are very honest with you. I once thought I had to have my steering rack replaced, and I told them this. But, they were able to do some minor work on the steering rack to the tune of $68.00 and the car has been fine. A steering rack is a very expensive repair/replacement! They work on my company car as well as my personal cars and its always been a very good experience. I trust them to give me an honest assessment of the work that has to be done. I cannot say the same about the dealership I used to go to. Certified has obviously learned what capitalism means......the best survive because the market determines the winners. Certified is a winner.

Traveling from Boston to DC, the transmission on my minivan died. Chris and his team installed a re-manufactured transmission with a 3 year warranty for a reasonable price -- I shopped around. First class service, and a pleasure to do business with.
