They also gave me explicit instructions for how to proceed to ensure that I passed my vehicle inspection. I highly recommend their service and will come back again.

I called ahead of time to inquire about price quotes and I was actually advised on how to save the most money - a singularly positive experience I never expected to have! As a young woman who is not super knowledgeable about cars, I constantly worry about getting upcharged by auto service folks. I can assure you that will NOT happen at Auto Tech Service. I couldn't be happier with my experience and they will be my go-to for auto service in DC. My friend recommended Auto Tech for an oil change. They went above and beyond checking my brakes, etc. They are real matter-of-fact and upfront about the costs. They warned about my brakes but didn't try to convince me I needed to do it then and they were right. Several months later, I brought my car back for new brake pads. Once again, they weren't trying to oversell. You can't make an appt which can be a bummer but first come first served often means work gets done faster. I don't wanna recommended because I don't wanna wait longer but they are fantastic 🤫😉

I came here based on the excellent reviews and was not disappointed. I was welcomed in the office immediately. While the work (front suspension bushing replacements) had been promised for the same day, a part supply issue led to a delay. These things happen. The shop communicated with me immediately and promised it would be handled as a priority the following day as soon as the correct parts arrived. The next day I was called even earlier than anticipated and was able to pick my truck up right from their lot. They gave honest advice regarding a repair I'll need before too long and their pricing was totally reasonable. Excellent customer service. Prompt service. Reasonable price.

These guys were awesome - they went above and beyond for a new customer. Very fair prices and really great service. I brought my car in on a Saturday with an A/C issue and they called me an hour later with the issue diagnosed. They called me at 9:00 on Monday after having called around to a few auto shops to try to get me the part cheaper. They knew I wanted the car back on Friday morning, if at all possible, and sent someone to get the part from the dealership when it arrived on Wednesday - they finished Wednesday afternoon and had the car ready for pickup. It was awesome, and I’m super grateful for their help!

One hundred percent the nicest, most honest, affordable mechanics I’ve seen. I bought an older car that needed more work than anticipated and am a first-time owner. They’ve walked me through repairs I’ve needed and talked me out of ones I don’t. I live in New York but try to save my fixes for when I’m here because I trust them so much. Just keep track of their hours. Best to come in the early morning and remember they close at noon on Saturday.

These guys are the best. Fast, affordable, and honest about the repairs your car ACTUALLY needs. Took my car in with a repair I was told I needed by Midas and told me that my car didn't even need it. Ended up getting my brakes done with them anyways. Nice waiting room, every other customer in there seemed equally as content and relieved with their quality of service as I was. Will be back!

Been coming to them for a couple of years. Always easy to work with. They are a family run business who are not looking to rip you off. They moved to the Trinidad/Ivy City area recently and now have a huge nicely appointed waiting room with Krups coffee, TV AC and WiFi. New location also has 3 bays so they can move you along faster. I can’t recommend them enough!

I had a long trip with driving in past 2 weeks during Christmas, but an urgent issue found on the way from NYC to Washington DC, my car made very loud noises when driving, I thought it maybe brakes issue. When I stopped at Washington DC for 2 nights, I thought I had to get it fixed because I still have a thousand mile ahead to destination. I randomly searched on web and saw many positive feedback on this repair shop Auto Tech Service. As it's close to my hotel, I just tried to walk in for asking help in early morning 12/23, then I'm very lucky to get immediate service action for brakes and rotors replacement. The owner Luis is very nice and helpful, very professional technical services, reasonable price, on time service delivery, just took a few hours to get brakes/rotors fixed. Much appreciate for your great and professional service, and you help me drive safely in rest of my trip. Highly recommend Auto Tech Service to anyone if have any car issues.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee was having a lot of issues when switching gears, so I brought it into Auto Tech Service to get it checked out. I dropped the car off in the morning, and I received a call just a few hours later that they had diagnosed the problem. They talked me through the issue, and how much it was going to cost. They ordered the parts, and had my car ready the next day! They were super nice, professional, and fast. I totally recommend these guys.

Incredibly honest and reasonably priced. They'll tell you the best way to address an issue, estimates are always accurate, work is done quickly within 24 hrs for most repairs. I've had them work on both my Bimmer and Mazda, no problems. They moved recently from kalorama to mt Olivet and now have much more space and parking for vehicles.

Amazing garage and Very Kind manager, excellent service! I had a big worry Saturday with a flashing light coming up on my car. At noon (right when the garage was closing) I pulled in to see some help for my car. Luis took the time to check, add up few quarts of oil and told me to go and told me to come back later this coming week to pay!! I have not met anyone so kind and nice in the USA as he is. The trust is something that is missing now a days, but I trust Luis and his garage. First he made sure I was safe to drive my car, within a minute he found out what the problem was. If you are worried about being taken advantage of by mechanics or auto dealers, Auto Tech is the place to get your car fixed. They never try to upset you and always give you a choice if there is one. I have an older car and they had to several parts yards to find the part. Saved me a lot of money.

I’m so glad I found this repair shop (thanks literally everyone for the great reviews!) It can be hard to find a place that is trustworthy and reasonably priced, especially as a woman showing up alone with a car problem. They have been so nice and taken care of my car’s problems (for me it was AC related in the peak summer heat!) and when they found out the part that was broken was no longer being made, they went out of their way to continue ordering and trying after market pieces. They even bent over backwards to fit me in and provide temporary fixes along the way so I didn’t have to suffer with 96+ degree temperatures and no AC. They do get busy most days so if you’re able to drop off your car I recommend it! Otherwise if you’re stuck waiting like me, they have a small waiting area and WiFi.

Another mechanic said I needed a bunch of work but I took the car to auto tech for a second opinion. It would have been so easy for them to agree and make money (I don't know any better!) but they were so honest and let me know that I didn't actually need anything, and very kindly took a peek and let me know that without even charging me. What a breath of fresh air this mechanic shop is! I came in to have my little Miata serviced for brakes after I stored her for a year during the pandemic. I made no appointment but was immediately tended to by the owner, Luis. No wait despite them clearly being busy. Luis immediately checked all four of my brakes and informed me that my pads were still in good condition but my rotors were completely rusted over. He let me know that I had self-cleaning rotors that will clean themselves as long as I drive the car. He said the rust accumulation usually happens with cars that aren’t driven alot. He was spot on with his analysis and suggested I try driving her a bit to see if the screeching noise went away (it did!) and he even gave me a quote if I still wanted to replace the brake system later on. He could’ve easily suggested hundreds of dollars of work but instead he was super honest and suggested a free alternative and did not charge me for his time. Integrity like this is rare to find and I will be coming back to Auto Tech for any services I need in the future. Great guys here!

So I brought my Honda Fit in here with a list of issues, and a couple of hours later they called me back with a complete breakdown of options and costs. They even got a part expedited over night and everything I chose to fix fixed inside of 24 hours for completely fair pricing. I will definitely go back to them if I need work done, and I've recommended them to family and friends. Excellent and completely professional work done, all down to how clean they left things. I'm amazed to still be able to find a business like this.

Extremely satisfied, the mechanic couldn’t duplicate the problem I was having with my car. He said that he needed to know for sure before attempting to do any work. He had my car for two days noticed that my air conditioner needed to be recharged and topped off. He called and told me what the cost would be and did that work. When I came to pick my car up I was told that I wasn’t going to be charged for anything. I really appreciate their honesty and that they didn’t try to guess what the problem was and charge me for work that I probably didn’t need. Also they didn’t try to sell me on a bunch of stuff, that will make taking my car back when/if the issue returns a lot better. This was my first time at this shop, it was recommended by a friend who has been going there for 5 years. They have a new customer. The last honest repair shop in DC/MD.

Fantastic AND honest!! I brought my car here for a second opinion after getting crazy quotes and fixes from my dealer. For the first repair, they found the real issue (not the solution of replacing my brake's computer system), turns out it had to do with my axle. The second time, the dealer said I needed a part that AutoTech told me didn't really exist. That time AutoTech said my car was fine and gave me back the keys (no charge). I'm impressed with their honesty and how they take the time to find the solution. I'm a loyal customer now!

Have been a customer for at least 3 years. The most honest and efficient mechanics in the area. I first came to them with a list of suggested repairs from the dealer (totaling more than $1500). They looked at my car and said some of the repairs weren't necessary, and I believe my total was around $700. Brought my car in once because I thought the brakes were having issues. They looked at it and drove it around, found no issues, and no charge to me for diagnostics or anything. Was disappointed they moved to Ivy City as it's not convenient for me, but worth the trip. The courtesy ride to the metro was icing on the cake. You won't be sorry for picking these guys.

I called in the afternoon on the day before Thanksgiving about an issue with my battery. They said “come on in” and fixed my car immediately. The employees are super friendly and helpful. They explained things to me in a way I could understand. They even brought me into the garage to show me what was happening and what they were going to do. Wheel alignment for my Toyota Corolla 2014. They are fast I arrived by 8am I was out by 9am of course this can change depending each situation and day, they are busy but they take the time to serve you the best way possible. One thing I like and notice is that they really test if the alignment is right in my case, before giving the car back to you. About the price they charge an average price.They test your car to make sure it is right. The place looks clean, well organized inclusive. They are polite and professional; they make you feel welcome. Very honest place bilingual English y Español. I'm new to the area and am not living here full-time as of yet. This place was recommended on the Brookland neighborhood mailing list by someone so I brought my truck to them when I had an issue that needed to be addressed. They did a great job at a reasonable price. I have been back a few times when I've been in town for some more issues and they've taken good care of me every time. I'll be stopping by again tomorrow morning since my truck is making a serious grinding noise and I don;t feel comfortable driving it without getting it checked out first. One of the great things for me is that it's walking distance (about 30 minutes) from me. I have nothing but good things to say about the shop and the owners.

I came in unscheduled because my car wouldn’t start ( I had to jump it two times in a week). He said he may have to keep it overnight, which was fine with me, and as I was about to call an Uber he said they will give me a ride to the metro. It was great and so convenient! My husband and I have recently had our vehicles serviced at ATS in the past few months and each time, the staff delivered prompt and quality service. Today, my husband's vehicle failed inspection due to a loosened fender (we believed was recently caused at a body shop that was supposed to repair another issue). He then decided to bring it to ATS where he explained the issue to service tech Miguel, who promptly put the vehicle on the lift to inspect it. In what seemed like no time, Miguel fixed the issue after which, the vehicle passed inspection. Whether by phone or in person, Miguel and his team are alway courtesy - and ready to delivery quality service.

Just an INCREDIBLE place -- last week, my wife got a repair order for a tail light being out. We took it in to Auto Tech later that day, and they changed the tail light without charging my wife a cent. Then, to top it off, today, I had a nail in one of my tires. For the second time in a week, I went to Auto Tech, and even though they were about to close, they squeezed me in and patched the tire. Having taken my vehicle and my work vehicle there many times, they are completely honest and generous and will not rip you off.

Editing this today because these guys really are the best. Went in this morning expecting a hefty bill but they diagnosed the problem with the fuel injection system and fixed it for $15. These guys are great mechanics. Honest and reliable and fast. Their new location makes visiting them much easier since you don't have to queue up first thing in the morning to secure a spot. They are still very busy so you should call ahead to make sure they can get to you. They offer a shuttle to the NOMA Metro so you can drop off in the morning and pick up at lunch.

I just got my syntheyic oil change at Auto Tech service and was extremely satisfied. I dropped my car off early Saturday morning and I saw they had a waiting area with free wifi. I took a 4 block walk to MOMs Organic market and did some shopping and had some of their free coffee and waited there at their seated dining area. I got the call that my car was ready and I quickly walked back over. The customer service was excellent. They checked my car over and checked all the fluids. I used to work at Lee's auto service for 10 years before he closed down the shop so I know good service and people when I see it. Best mechanic shop in DC hands down. It was previously located at 2328 Ontario Rd NW. but it has now moved to this new location. They are the prime example of how a mechanic should be- honest, trustworthy, respectful, knowledgeable. Miguel has been nothing but great! I took my car for an oil change at the Honda dealership (in DT Silver Spring) per my usual. They told me that oil was slowly seeping around the oil drain bolt. I thought it was interesting since I never saw or smelled oil leaking from my car. I asked them to fix it and they said they couldn't until the next day but I would be fine given the extent of the leak. I was unsettled, but went home. The next morning, there was a puddle of oil beside my car and an obvious oil smell. I emailed them and called and got no response. I had my car towed to Auto Tech (based on a friend's recommendation). Miguel patched me up and has since fixed the issue. I'm sad to be moving! Check them out! Family owned business with kind-hearted people.

Really honest and trustworthy (I barely know what a car is). Told me what I needed and what I could get but didn’t really need. And they fixed a bunch of things free of charge, and even gave me a new key ring because mine had broken. Amazing service.

When I lived in DC these guys were my go to for oil changes and repairs. They used to be on Ontario St in Adams Morgan. They are very honest and reliable, and for fair prices. No ripping off clueless customers. They give repair recommendations but don't pressure you into getting them. I'd argue the best mechanics in DC work here.

What a relief--quick, caring, and honest. They righted the "other guys'" wrongs straight away and walked me through my options to pass my emissions test. While the "OTHER GUYS" charged me $95 just to run the diagnostic, then charged me $144 for a $5 cheap gas cap that didn't fix the problem, THESE guys ran a free diagnostic in 15 minutes while I sat there and then fixed the gas cap and a few other things that day. Oh and they drove me to the metro. I think I found my mechanic!!

Same folks who used to be over in Adams Morgan but have moved to this new/upgraded location. Honest mechanics who do great work. Oil change will run you around 35$ including labor. Have yet to find a better/more affordable mechanic in the city in 6+ years of being here and wouldn't take my car anywhere else.
