Five star customer service.:) Hospitality off the charts. Family owned shop! Excellent customer service. Quick! Came here for inspection but I found out my car did not pass due to the brakes. Yikes! Not only did they immediately repair what I needed but they dealt with my personal time commitments of rushing them (so sorry!) to try to get me back to get my kids for their pediatrician appointments. The entire time they gave me updates and did not mind, so accommodating. Wow!! I really was thrilled by their customer service and I think that whatever reasonable prices they offer, just do it. Don’t bother looking elsewhere on quotes. They are good guys to work with and I have a lot of Trust in them!

Great customer service! Appreciate how they take the time to explain any recommended repairs, especially to someone unfamiliar. Unlike some chain repair/service shops, they don't recommend maintenance just because of the mileage, they do so if they see a need.

Really happy with this place. I sideswiped my car on Wednesday and didn't notice until Friday night that a tire had been damaged in the process, making it unsafe to drive on. I called about 15 minutes before closing on Friday, and they were able to recommend and order me a similar tire brand to what was on my car (the tires that came with the car are special order only and I couldn't wait a week). They were also able to install them the next day, even though the tires didn't arrive until an hour before closing and also were able to provide some recommendations for body shops to get the rest of the damage fixed. Overall, it was a really great experience and I'll definitely use them again in the future!

Overall great work and prices. During my past two inspections my car unfortunately failed. However, the speed and honesty that the mechanics and front desk staff was impressive. In one instance my passenger airbag failed inspection and was going to lead to a costly diagnosis and repair. However after paying for the first diagnosis, the mechanic was able to fix it which was a relief as the estimate for further repairs was tight for my budget. The most recent inspection a hole formed in my muffler. Right off the bat, the front desk staff presented me with the cheaper option of welding over the hole. Didn’t even mention a full replacement (I had to ask no complaints though) I come from a family business upbringing so I appreciate the hard work of a family owned business and the quality you get. Arlington Autocare meets that standard.

My family and I were traveling from PA to NC for vacation and our SUV broke down in Arlington, VA. It’s a Saturday, and everyone knows how busy garages are on Saturdays. We called AAA to tow our vehicle and after several phone calls to different garages in the area and being denied over and over, our hopes of making it to the OBX were disappearing. This shop was the only one that said bring it and we will get it in. They had to get parts from all over the place to fix the issues, but after all was said and done we are back on the road, the vehicle is running excellent, and we’re heading back down for our vacation. Thanks to this place, our vacation was not ruined and we got to visit the beautiful Arlington, VA! Highly recommend them!!

Arlington Auto Care has the absolute best service! I've used them for several years for everything from replacement of a dead battery to oil changes to inspections. Each time they've been very straightforward with pricing and have never tried to upsell me with things I don't need. Their staff is very friendly and they always complete service in a timely manner.

Honest mechanics are hard to find. I had a safety inspection done and I failed due to an out highbeam. Found out that it was just a loose ground wire and fixed it on the spot and they issued me a passed certificate. They could of failed me and taken my money and charged me to fix it. Then they could of charged me to retest. Since it only took 30 seconds to fix they did the right thing. I recommend this place for safety and emission testing.

I've dealt with numerous mechanics in the Arlington/Alexandria area. Every time I would leave feeling disappointed. This is not the case with Arlington Auto Care. Each time I've brought my car in they've been honest and upfront with what exactly is wrong, what the procedure will be and how much it'll cost. Very transparent and clear. I used this place once and have never gone another mechanic since. They're my go to.

This is my third time using Arlington Autocare, and each time they have been professional, courteous, trustworthy, efficient, unshaken, and timely. The front staff appear to have fun and enjoy their work, and it shows in their demeanor with clients. And, as it is family owned, it adds to the feeling that their diagnoses and recommendations can be trusted as if you were their own family. My most recent encounter was for an O2 sensor fix: replacement. I fully anticipated to stay for hours and hours, as I had been pre-warned (good practice) of how long this typically takes. However, when I arrived, they already had a full roster of services for other cars, and I was informed that it may taken longer than previously told. As I needed my car for work later that same day, I accepted this, and committed myself to hunker down with work while I waited for my car. I was sooooooo PLEASANTLY surprised to hear that they had completed the job in the original amount of time stated to me initially!!!!! This was so unexpected, but made my day. Plus, they gave me future driving recommendations to help me successfully avoid future issues with my vehicle. I will definitely be a repeat customer for any auto needs!

My rating would be lower if I hadn't had good experiences in the past. Today, I dropped off my car for 1) oil change, 2) wipers to be tightened or replaced, to 3) check the brakes, and to 4) get a sun visor fixed. More than 3 1/2 hours later I called to ask the status. I was told the car was ready for pick up. INTERESTING timing. When I arrived, I was given a bill for the oil change. There were other notes : Needs wipers, front brakes at 7" 32 and rear brakes at ?. Last note: Need sun visor. In more than 3 1/2 hours only an oil change had occurred. I don't live here. So I had breakfast then had been walking around and waiting for them to call. In the past, once something was checked and had a need to be fixed, I would get a call from an AAC employee telling me the status and the cost of materials and labor. I had to ask (again) for my blades to be replaced. I had ask the front desk employee to ask the mechanic what the notes about the brakes meant. Lastly, I had to ask for the cost of the sun visor replacement. I asked the employee as I was walking out, "Do you think something went wrong in the process?" The employee agreed, apologized, and said they were really busy in the back. I was grateful for her honesty in that moment. Still, my time was wasted.

If I was basing this review solely on the service I received today, they would’ve received one star. However, I’ve had my car serviced here several times and they were much more attentive and courteous. Today I brought my car in for an inspection. I knew the battery had an issue but I wasn’t completely sure. After about 30 minutes, I noticed that my car was sitting outside and was finished but no one said anything to me. They just kept helping people, answering the phone, and staring into space. Finally, I said, “Is my car ready?” Both workers answered dismissively, we’ll be with you in a moment ma’am. One giggled and ate his sandwich while the other seemed confused about why I was bothering him. I would’ve gotten my battery replaced here but I ended up going elsewhere as a result of this interaction. I’ve been helped by one of them before on more than one occasion and it shows how strong groupthink is. The one was only dismissive because his friend was. He’s always been polite and professional in the past, and it’s what saved him from being cussed out when he finally decided to check me out.

The technicians are very friendly and they have a nice seating area to wait, but they are also conveniently located next to restaurants and shopping that make the wait for your maintenance go by quickly. This is a much better shop than going to a Jiffy Lube or one of the other shops in the area.

I've been going here for about 9 years with my 03 Corvette. They have done a lot of maintenance ranging from simple oil changes to complicated things like replacing my crankshaft seal and harmonic balancer. The price is always right and the service is exceptional. No "Vette tax" here. They are the only shop I trust and they do outstanding work, truly above and beyond in my opinion. They never upsell and they don't tell you to have unnecessary repairs. They also just saved me about $2000 over another shop on my crank seal. If you have any GM v8 powered vehicle made after 1997, this is something you will eventually have to do so I say you should take it to them. They are also very good with keeping you updated on progress so I appreciate that. They also honor their warranty work as I had them do my A/C system and the compressor failed, they replaced it for free. This is an honest, highly capable shop with an outstanding staff.

Highly recommend the team here. They are highly professional, help track down parts in a timely, and have the skills to troubleshoot a host of issues. My 12 year old vehicle has been in across the country multiple times enduring Northeastern US winter's, Southeast hurricanes, and Southwest sand and heat. Coming back to the area they were able to get me VA state inspection in a single afternoon. Awesome experience!

First visit, and was happy. The reps at the front desk were very helpful and professional. I brought my car in to diagnose a problem I was having trouble pinning down. They explained how they were going to test to diagnose the problem before I left. They diagnosed the problem and explained the repairs needed when they called me back a couple hours later. They even have the service history of your car available on their website, which is a great advantage to being a customer of thiers.

The staff at Arlington Autocare are professional, friendly, honest, and timely. I was nervous about being a female and finding a car shop that I could rely on when I moved to arlington about 5 years ago. Thankfully I’ve always felt comfortable and taken care of with Arlington autocare. I’ve found among other shops in the area they also have some of the lowest prices accompanied with great customer service and transparency. I’ve had numerous oil changes, rotors, brakes, tires, even wheel axel replaced (in which they had the lowest price about of 3 places I called). Highly recommend!

My tire pressure light went off earlier this week and everything seemed to be fine, but I popped into the Arlington Auto Care to see if they had moment to confirm that nothing was wrong. They immediately took my keys and very quickly assessed my tires and let me know, to my surprise, that I had a nail in my rear right tire. They told me it would just take 20 - 30 minutes to plug my tire. Not only were they finished in less than 15 minutes but they didn’t charge me for the repair. This type of top notch care is why I am a loyal customer of Arlington Auto Care. I will never go anywhere else and am always treated with nothing less than the utmost respect. I never feel like I am being taken advantage of or pressured into doing unnecessary repairs or maintenance.

So happy with the service I received. I went in for a service on my Mercedes E Class, JP and Kristoff took care of me. I waited in the waiting room for my service, which was clean and nice... Most auto shops have horrible waiting rooms. I was told it would take an hour, and they stuck to their word, the car was ready in an hour. Overall, I am a very satisfied customer, I I would Definitely recommend this auto shop to anyone. In fact I think you guys just earned a new loyal customer :)

Those guys saved my car in a very big way. A couple of days before they took my car in, I noticed a change in the noices of my car, little did I know it was the alternator failing. A day after that, my car became a dead pile of metal sitting in the middle of the road. I called my insurance and asked for their help, and the towing guy advised to drop it at their workshop and passed me their phone number to call them the next day. I talked to one of the mechanics and told him about the issue I hade with my car. He told me to run his diagnosis first to find what's wrong with it first before he gives me a qoute. In less than an hour, he got back to me to let me know it was the alternator that caused the problem. I asked him how long will it take to get it fixed, and he said it wouldn't take more than a couple of days to get it fixed. After 2 days, I picked it up, working like a new car. I'm very glad that I had a great experience with them, and I recommend them to anyone looking to get their car fixed

I'm satisfied with his explanation and feel confident retracting my first Post. This is fair, as all of my concerns were addressed, and my earlier assessment was flawed. Great auto care served with integrity! They never try to make you get parts and/or services you don't need. The second time I went there was for the safety inspection, balancing and rotating of wheels, and replacing of brake pads and rotors. They wound up accidentally causing a hairline fracture on one of the wheel knuckles in the process. They called me to inform me of this, and had the knuckle replaced completely free of charge to me.

We have been taking our cars to this shop for over 5 years! They are as honest as they come and are very polite. Throughout the years I have had several things go out in my car. I have never felt uncomfortable taking my vehicle in as they have always been very professional to us. They tell it like it is and they have never ripped us off. After two AAA service calls and two different recommendations, I had my VW towed here with electrical problems. They checked it out and said I didn't need a new alternator (which the last AAA driver recommended), just a new battery which was significantly cheaper. Very helpful staff but without an appointment I had a long wait. Then again, busy businesses are usually good businesses.

Got my tires rotated and wheel alignment and state inspection done in less than 2 hours BMW 5 series. I am surprised as the number of bad reviews. I have been going here for 7 years and have never had a bad experience nor have any other people I know who go there. As a female, there is always a concern of being taken advantage by a mechanic. I have never felt that way at this repair shop. In fact, when I was having a number of issues with my car including a transmission problem, they referred me to another repair shop and told me to wait on doing any other work to see what happens. I have a 11 year old car so having a good, honest mechanic is a huge relief.

One of the mechanics is a personal friend I have known for almost 20 years. I never feel taken advantage of, things are always explained to me and I'm given options in case things get too expensive. UPDATE: 12/9/17 I received a call from Arlington Auto Care's Manager, Kristoff, explaining that he'd read my review and looked into the my situation, and felt as though there was a bit of negligence and lack of communication on the part of his business. He refunded me the cost of the Battery, and Solenoid Relay to make-up for this. Currently, my car is running well and has not had a starter issue since their repair. _____ I’d like to preface this by saying, I’m in no way an automotive engineer or mechanic; just a consumer who takes as good of care of his vehicle (2008 Civic -- +150k Miles) as possible. This is my second time using them. I brought my car in for service, first thing in the morning, on 12/3/17. I spoke to the attendant Will, who was very polite, and explained that the starter and solenoid in my car was dying/dead, that there was no evidence of a battery issue that I could see—and I believed it needed to be replaced. He told me they would take a look under the hood and call me in the next 45 mins to 1 hour to give me a diagnosis— this was at 9:10 AM. By 10:10 AM, I had still not received a call—giving them the benefit of the doubt, I went on with the rest of my day, as I didn’t need my car that desperately. 11 AM, still no call. At 11:51 AM, I called to check on the status of my vehicle—I had received no calls from the mechanic at this point—the attendant, Will, picks up the phone and apologizes for the not getting back to me. He explains that they’ve diagnosed my car with a faulty battery—and that they’d recommend replacing it—it would cost me right around $287.00. At this point, I was just walking off of a soccer field and not completely thinking, so without giving to much thought to it, as they are supposed to be the automotive professionals, I gave them permission to do the replacement. After getting back home, I realized that I had a just replaced my battery within the last year and a half (this raised a red flag in my mind). At 12:25 PM, I got a call from Will explaining that after replacing my battery ($215.00), they saw that my starter was still not working (as I expected), so they now believed they needed to replace my starter and solenoid relay (as told them in the beginning) ($535.00). Being that this was what I expected to be charged for in the first place—I consented to them replacing the starter and solenoid relay—with their assurance the whole thing would be completed before they closed. I got a call at 1:58 PM from Will, saying their work was done and I was free to come pick it up. I showed up at 2:15 PM, and walked in to (begrudgingly) pay my bill ($776.07) and pick up my keys. Will was at the front desk and explained that they ordered the wrong size solenoid relay—and if I wanted to have it installed, I would need to come back—but all the other work (new battery, new starter) were completed. He explained that he would call me first thing the next day (12/4/17), to let me know when I could bring it in. Will called me the next day at 1:36 PM, letting me know they had received the solenoid relay and I could come by to have it installed (I was at work at this point). I called once I was off work (4:17 PM) to see how long of a wait it would be—he responded somewhere between 1 hour to 1.5 hours before my car would be taken in. I asked him what their hours were, to see if I could take it in first thing the next day. He said they’d be open at 7:00 AM. This morning (12/5/17), I brought my car in at 7:00 AM on the dot, walked in and told the attendant what was needed. He pulled out a clear bag with my solenoid relay and explained that there were no mechanics expected to come in until 7:30 AM the absolute earliest, likely closer to 8:00 AM. Being that I had already driven here and planned on waiting (admittedly not as long as I current am). I said screw it, and here I sit—writing this review. They completed work on my vehicle at 7:57 AM, and I promptly paid (an additional $18.00) and left.

My left rear tire was losing air as I was driving to work. I stopped at Arlington Autocare to see if they could remove the leaking tire and install the spare tire so I could get to work on time. They were crowded with many people in the waiting room but Ceasar, one of their technicians, heard my plight and installed my spare and I was on my way in 20 minutes. Just left AAC for the second time in five days - got two tires replaced, a headlight, an oil change, and checked out a warning light last wednesday before heading home for the holiday. While it took all day, they were very efficient at getting all this stuff done so that my car was safe to drive to New Jersey. However, the next day (picked up the car around 7:45 the night before), I went to drive it and had all these new warning lights, and the car kept stalling when I tried to start it. Needless to say I was furious and it really threw my thanksgiving plans. Gave them a call first thing Monday morning, and Kristoff had me in within 30 minutes to get it looked at. Thankfully it was just a dirty sensor and while I still had to take another two hours off of work to get it fixed, he didn't charge me to clean it off and get it checked out. To me, that's a fantastic business practice. Even if it didn't end up being a shop error from before, I feel really confident about taking my car back there in the future and having them stand by their work. Would highly recommend.

On Friday, June 22nd, my friend and colleague received devastating news while at work that her mother had passed away. She was supposed to see her the very next day. I started a new job in Washington DC. I had been here 2 weeks when the Transmission went out of my Buick Park Avenue. I had to get a tow from the Triple A, they are listed as an approved service center. I got the car to the lot, we knew I had a problem, but not yet how serious. Set me up for an appointment to look into the matter. Quick service, quick follow up, it turns out the transmission was completely shot. They offered one of the transmission repair facilities that they use often and offered to make tow arrangemnets to get the car there. The transmission work, rebuild and installation was going to cost more the car was worth, I decided to sale the car to junk dealer. It took 5 days to work out all paperwork in Ohio and Virginia to get that accomplished. Never complained once about the car being on their lot, all of the time it took to fine, mail and register titles from one state to another. I felt sad about the Buick, it was like family, it was acar I used to do consulting all over hte Mid West and it did get here to the East Coast. The car had to dragged onto the tow truck, the transmission was that damaged; I go in the service area to pay my inspection fees, which is certainly in line with Ohio prices, much less DC Metro area prices and the Manager waved the fee. What a Blessing.

Car broke down so I had it towed to Arlington Auto Care because they had successfully fixed my AC (for a fair price) a few weeks prior. This time around they called and gave me the rundown on what needed to be done and the estimate. The quote seemed high to me so I called Cherrydale Motors to get an estimate. Cherrydale was almost $200 cheaper so I called back and relayed this information to Arlington Auto Care and they were able to match the price of Cherrydale and get the work done quickly. Only reason this is a 4 and not a 5 is because I had to do some of my own homework to get the price to what I considered fair.

Specialty shops are easier to find, but a solid "go to" shop for general auto repair can be a shot in the dark. I went through several other options before finding Arlington Auto Care. I'm an enthusiast and club-level weekend racecar driver, and prefer to only give my money to shops that can talk to me intelligently. Arlington Auto Care was able to easily give my BMW E46 M3 a solid alignment, after I got turned away elsewhere for it being "too low" (it was about 0.5" lower than stock) and wanting to discuss alignment specs with the tech. AAC made it easy. They also went above and beyond when I took my SUV off-roading and blew out two sidewalls, thanks to some ill-placed rocks. Not only could they find two of the tire I wanted (when Discount Tire and Tire Rack were on a month-long backorder), they also were willing to speak to Michelin directly about the damages. I'm deducting one star due to the quote I got for my SUV's 105k mile service. The local Land Rover indie shop is a cheaper option - presumably with more LR experience - and I found $700 for a transmission drain-and-fill to be... a bit much. That said, for most "typical" service and tire needs, I would absolutely call AAC before anyone else. All of the staff I've interacted with have been phenomenal.
