This is the second time I have used this location and they are great. This time I had two different claims for two different issues and they agreed to do the work on both at the same time. Tanner was good about communicating the status of things and when we hits some bumps in the process they have been great at seeing through to a full resolution. they really stand by their guarantee. Tanner, Faith, and Tyler have been great to work with in the office, and the quality of the body work has been fantastic.

The repair took a little longer than expected but that was due to the holidays and ordering parts from dealers. My car is in great condition now and they even cleaned it thoroughly when finished. Although the process of getting an estimate and then an appointment for repairs was slow, I believe that's the case throughout the industry post-pandemic. Definitely not a cheap fender-bender repair but they never are anymore and I did not shop around. Schaefer AC was quite professional and up front about everything. They got it done on time (needed it for holiday travel), kept us informed on progress, and appeared to do a like-new repair job.

Schaefer was a huge help after my car was hit and I had to get some body work. They worked with the insurance company directly to get everything scheduled and then repaired my car and got it back to me in two days. While picking up my car, they allowed me to drop off my rental car with them and then they worked directly with Enterprise to get it sent back so I didn't have to do anything. Would highly recommend their services.

My 2021 Dodge Durango was repaired at Schaefer and they did a great job. My only complaint was when my vehicle was delivered it was really dirty in the back seat area. I showed this to an associate who immediately took it and had it cleaned. My issue is with a repair of over $11k, the car should be delivered spotless exterior & interior. Whoever is responsible for detailing the cars needs more training as it wasn't a good job. Other than that, great service.

This company was on State Farm's recommended list of body repair shops and I'm so grateful. They were wonderful to work with after a pretty severe (and expensive) accident. Communication was EXCELLENT (Tyler) and they finished the work on my car within their estimate and below the original budget. God willing I won't need to use them again, but I wouldn't hesitate to if the need arises. I recommend them to everyone I know who needs autobody repairs.

I got in a car accident. This place was recommended by friends and was assigned by the insurance company. They took care of everything and have a good relationship with a nearby rental car. I literally just showed up with my car and they took care of everything. I was picked up by the rental car agency and when my car was ready I just left my rental there. They kinda figured out between themselves about the duration of the rental and made sure I didn’t get charged. Then I got a call from the rental company that the car was fine. My car came back repaired and cleaner (which they didn’t have to do).

I’ve needed body work now 4 times to repair damage on my 2014 Silverado pickup. My truck has an upgraded White Pearl paint that is one of the most difficult paints to match aftermarket, you need to know what your doing! I was sick the first time I had a quarter panel repaired and painted, thinking the paint wouldn’t match when I got it back. Schaefer knocked it out of the park! My paint job was perfect… so the next 3 repairs and paint jobs have matched perfect as well. It would drive me crazy if it was obvious my truck had been repainted. They also matched my Suburban, silver gray metallic paint perfect a couple years ago which is another difficult color match. My contact, Tyler, was awesome at the Brentwood location.

The appointment took a long time and then I forgot about it and took even longer but my repair was not that significant so it was okay to wait, plus Tyler kept me posted during the whole process, the repair was nicely done and there was an accessory which did not get on time but he texted me later for me to pick it up. Plus the car was so clean!

The work quality seems good overall. My main issue were with communication and timeliness. What was originally a “6 day” job turned into 20 and the only time I got updates/information was when I called. No one ever contacted me first. There were some Extensive delays I guess due to supply chain issues which wasn’t really their fault but the process from Initial call to repairs complete was more than 5 months including a full month when the car was in their shop. I gather from talking to other people that this isn’t that uncommon these days. So my advice would be to be prepared to wait…

I went to Schaefer for a door ding, rock chip, scratch fill, and window chip fill. Getting a quote with Tyler was easy and accurate. He was very helpful in explaining how I could save some cash with paintless dent repair, which was perfect for me as my issues were cosmetic ones. Scheduling and communication was great with Tyler. I was happy with the body work. Unless you knew about it previously, you would never see the damage. The window fill was disappointing - it was through a third party and while my chips were filled, the technician (and I) had not noticed that the windshield had a hairline crack and needed to be replaced completely. Tyler did work with me to get a quote with the glass company, but even with the credit I was able to get a better windshield price elsewhere. I understand accidents happen but I wish that I could have spent the chip fill $ toward a new windshield! Nevertheless, I recommend Schaefer for friendly, professional staff and affordable service. I will return for future autobody work. Thanks!

Update from 1 star to 3 stars: Schaefer reached out after I posted this review and has paid for the repairs. Frustrating that it took so long to resolve the issue, but giving credit to them for reaching out and trying to rectify the situation. I have been to Schaefer body in Maplewood twice for repairs of my car and both times there have been significant problems with the repairs. I’ll admit they know how to make the car look good, but beyond that I’m still dealing with problems two years later. After getting into an accident and needing repairs to the frame/suspension/wheels, there was a squeaking sound from the rear wheel that began after the repair. After taking the car back to Schaefer literally 4 times for one problem, they told me it was fixed each time despite that not being the case. I eventually gave up because they were charging money for each “repair” and accepted the squeaking. It had worsened over the last 2 years and I finally took it to a Honda dealership who informed me the tire hub was bent and would be $500 to fix, something that should have been fixed at the original repair. The second time I made the mistake of taking my car here for repairing a dent in the door, the repair team forgot to hook up the electronics to the door and the window and lock system wouldn’t work. I had to plug the electronics back in myself to fix this. Schaefer is good at cosmetics, but beyond that, take your car to another place if there is any real damage.

Took my car here for storm damage that happened late summer. Overall I am very satisfied with the finished work. My service guy, Tanner Riden, was great. He really went above and beyond to make sure all issues were taken care of. There were a few spots that were missed when the car was initially returned but he took care of it with no hassle. The timeframe for the repair was a bit lengthy, but was understandable due to an influx of repairs after a bad storm. I also appreciate the fact that it was not a rush job either. Overall Im happy with the repair, and would recommend their service.

Dropped off my Honda Fit at the Maplewood MO location early in the morning. Schaefer arranged for my rental car and kept the process easy and seamless. While completing the simple paperwork I mentioned that I was paying out of pocket for the car rental. I received a special 'Schaefer autobody' rental rate with Enterprise and was informed that my car would likely be ready for pick-up in 3 days. Fast forward to 7 hours later! I received a call informing me that my car was ready. The team at Schaefer heard I was paying for my car rental because I didn't want to pass on the fees to the elderly man who hit me, so they rushed my car through and completed the job in less than a day. What a nice surprise. I hope I do not need Schaefer Autobody again but I sure do highly recommend their services. Professional, friendly and hard-working. Thank you Schaefer Maplewood.
