My truck wouldn’t start on a cold morning (-18°). I am from another state and had need to travel. I called around town and pretty much everyone told me it’d be Dec 30 at best before they could look at my truck. This was the Wednesday before Christmas. I called J&M and using the tow company they work with they got my truck in later that day and was fixed early the next afternoon. I dealt with Matt and Josh. I felt the service was superior and they were very friendly and courteous. I highly recommend this business. Paying for two batteries for my diesel and a tow the cost was less than I had expected.

Unfortunately, with a hectic life I forgot the name of the service writer. He was a pleasure to speak with. This is what happened, another mechanic did our brake pads and for a heavy price recommended alternater replacement. Had a feeling I should contact someone else. These guys at J & M are consummate professionals. I wanted a second quote but instead they found the alternator was good. As long as the staff stays they have a loyal customer.

I have been taking my vehicles to J&M for a few years, not only for routine service but repairs as well. Every single time it was a very good experience, plus the repairs were performed well. They have provided a shuttle service and assisted with tows when needed, communication was excellent, and concerns were addressed. I worked for about 9 years in the automotive industry myself and when I am spoken to what I am told is truthful and as such have earned my trust. J&M has become my first place of choice regarding repairs for situations I cannot handle at home.

I drove to Sioux Falls from Denver for a funeral, and developed an engine miss 100 miles out from SF. I have an on-board engine diagnostic device and saw the #1 cylinder wasn't firing. After calling several car repair places, including a Mercedes dealership, and being told that I would have to wait at least a week or longer, I called J&M. I talked with Matt, who knew exactly what to do. I brought my car in the following morning, and had it back by mid-afternoon after getting spark plugs and a general tuneup, and an oil change. Matt, and his colleague Josh are so friendly, intelligent, and focused. My car ran like a silver streak driving home, and you can't do any better than that! Thanks guys!!!

I reached out to J&M Transmission recently due to a 4WD service warning on my Jeep Cherokee. They were very thorough and patient in explaining me what the issue was and serviced my vehicle within promised timeline. Before reaching out to J&M transmission, I reached out to couple other service centers in Sioux Falls and they quoted super high rates. Excellent customer support and great service at reasonable price.

I had to replace my transmission. J&M quoted me a price and stuck to it. I also had them do some extra work on my vehicle they did this all in a very timely manner. Even with the extra work that they had to do the price came in about $1,500 less than a competitor. I would highly recommend them for oil changes, brakes, transmission anything that you need serviced they can do.

J&M if fantastic! I accidentally ran into a curb and thought my car was leaking something from it, I drove there very late in the day without calling or an appointment for fear of loosing oil. They put it up on the hoist and checked it out for me. They were very kind and friendly.

I would’ve rated this company a 4-5 star, I had no problems with their labor and costs of services as they were tremendous in that factor, but when I got my vehicle I had noticed a black coat of material along my headlight and fender of the drivers side.. I thought it would just come off in a car wash so I wasn’t going to complain, but it hasn’t and I was never disclosed to about what it is… please contact me at chevy impala 2006 last week Tuesday, picked up.. I am supposed to bring it back to check on a oil leak, but I want a credit, or something.. this was coated a long ways.. it scratched my fender and bumper, it won’t come off the headlight, it scratched the headlight.. I need someone to contact me, and I know the shops cameras will show it was there before, I picked it up… Buse/Nielsen Update: they fixed the issue and made it right, they are people friendly and work well with schedules

After my service, I was advised that I was just starting to have a small oil leak and to check to see if it is covered by my warranty rather then trying to scam me while I was there! I appreciated the efficient "no contact" service provided by J and M. They picked up my car during a one hour window and called when the car was ready to be returned. The inside of the car was disinfected and the kids were sanitized and placed in a plastic bag. As always, the service was terrific.

As always the J&M team were polite and curious and expedient with my vehicles' repair. What I didn't know is that they do so much more than just transmission repair... they have repaired thus far in my several vehicles.... the radiator, tire rotations, oil changes, fixed the heat in one vehicle and I know they can tackle about anything I throw at them. While doing all this they are always willing to give me a ride to my home and back again if needed and they never make me feel as though I am putting them out... its just a service I can tell they love to do as its always fun having a conversation with Mary Ellen or Jim. Was told by someone else it was a tranny problem. Brought it here for a second opinion since I disagreed. It was a rear end issue. J&M got it diagnosed right away, called me first to double check I was ok with going ahead and fixing it (as I had asked them to do in case it was something I didn't think would be worth fixing), once they got the go ahead they got the parts ordered and had it fixed in a few days. Very impressed with how quickly they were able to figure out exactly what the problem was and get the work done. I've had no issues with my truck since I got it back. They didn't overcharge me or try and add in little extra costs for this or that. They were very transparent and honest with everything. Also, honest employees. I left cash and scratch tickets in the car in the cup holder and nothing had been touched. Everyone likes to think everyone would be honest but these guys have proved they are. Next time something is wrong with either of my cars I'm giving them a call.

Honest, reliable, & straightforward. We move a lot, and finding a good mechanic every place we move is a nightmare! We were so lucky to find J&M based on good reviews and haven't regretted it once. Every issue has been addressed immediately, everyone in the shop is knowledgeable about vehicles, and there's no beating around the bush-they will tell you exactly what's wrong, why it's wrong, all your options, and they'll get it done quickly! I appreciated when I had a dealer-only repair and they sent me to the dealer for my fix without trying to scalp a little money by doing unnecessary work (that's happened to me other places), they've gone above and beyond to make sure our vehicles are road-ready and in the best repair possible, and they've even had our back on our terrible second vehicle that needs a LOT of help. If you want a mechanic who's really going to take care of you and make sure you're safe on the road, stop here. You'll seriously not regret it. Even after we leave I'll continue to send any business I can their way-a great all-around mechanic shop should be shared!

Unexpected car repairs are always stressful and I'm thrilled to say I've found my go-to auto repair shop. My ignition switch recently failed and J & M Transmission was able to get me in the same day while approaching the problem with my pocketbook in mind. Their customer service is courteous and put my mind at ease by initially giving me a guess at the price range I could expect, along with the promise to not start any extensive repairs without calling me and reviewing the "diagnosis" and solutions. We took our Passat in for preventative work. J&M replaced the clutch, replaced the alternator and belt, flushed lines, fixed a coolant leak and notified us of wear and tear on the tires. They kept us informed of prices, items that may need to be addressed and on the progress of their work. We were amazed how quick they finished up with the car! They are always fast, friendly and courteous. I've only had five star experiences there. Even when you've got to wait a little bit, they have a nice comfortable room to sit in with snacks and drinks. Once in a while the shop dog is there too. This place is highly recommended for any of your auto service needs.
