I've been coming here for many years and multiple vehicle stereo upgrades. This time was for the window tinting in my new/used car. Fantastic work, great prices, and the personal job you get from the owner, Pete, is superb. I will always come back to them as they are the best in town. They offer multiple car upgrades for all cars.

MW did an awesome job of replacing my obsolete factory audio with an aftermarket unit that outperforms my original unit in every way. Like others, I was leery of entrusting my vehicle to a chain franchise. I found owner Peter C. to be helpful, knowledgeable, and honest. Unlike other shops where upselling is an art, Peter listened carefully to what I wanted so he could recommend a product that would deliver - nothing more, nothing less, all at a reasonable price. The end result is a flawless installation that looks original, and an audio system that makes me want to take the long road home. Look no further than MW Autocraft for the total package in customer satisfaction!

We bought an Alpine car stereo from Mobile West almost ten years ago. Today I went in to see them because recently the touch screen totally stopped responding even though it was still all lit up and would beep when touched. At first, the salesperson said it would probably need to be replaced, but I asked him to come out and look at it first. He came and looked at it and then said, let me go get someone else. The “someone else” was the owner, Pete. So then Pete came out to the car and looked at it and very quickly gave the stereo a “hard reset” and that was all it took!!! He then VERY nicely hooked up my phone to the Bluetooth and set the current date and time for me, haha. My thanks go out to the owner of Mobile West for the awesome customer service. When this Alpine finally bites the dust, we’ll go back to them.

After being treated like an idiot at car toys, it was refreshing to have such straight forward, open, and honest treatment from the guys at Mobile West. Car toys wanted to literally charge me DOUBLE what Mobile West did, with absolutely no information on what justified such outrageous price hikes. The staff at Mobile West were friendly, honest, professional, and super helpful. My car stereo sounds great, and having done installations myself, I can tell you that their attention to detail, and quality of work, is top notch. If you take anything from these reviews, hear this: before going to some assembly-line-style franchise, it's worth giving Mobile West a visit first. The good folks at MW have worked on 2 of my vehicles on several occasions over the years and their work is second to none. Car audio is expensive to begin with, so at first, I too was tempted to go to a big name chain to try to save money but found that Mobile West is very reasonable and have the knowledge and willingness to work within a budget to suggest options that work. MW's attention to detail and quality of work exceeded my expectations—they recognize that one's vehicle is an investment and also a personal affect, so they take great care to ensure whatever they touch looks better than before. Peter is the most joyful and patient person I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with–he even loaned me his vehicle while mine was being serviced. You won't be disappointed.

I called hoping for the best. The radio in my Honda Accord wasn't working. Peter picked up the phone and invited me to stop by to have the problem diagnosed. He greeted me shortly after I drove in. The place was very busy, but I could tell that work was getting done. There was a feeling of hustle, of things getting done. Before long it was my turn. Phil uninstalled my radio, diagnosed and fixed the problem, and reinstalled it with breathtaking speed. Fifteen minutes from start to finish. And at a price I thought modest. At Mobile West you get expertise, speed, efficiency, and a commitment to serve that could not come at a fairer price. Make Mobile West your first call!

My son saved up for a MAJOR upgrade for his 2004 Saturn Vue. Peter at Mobile West got us set up with a really choice Alpine deck with apple carplay and backup camera too. I feel much safer knowing my son won't have to be playing with his phone with this upgrade. They also got it installed right away and took great care of us. It looks and sounds amazing. I purchased a used car in September and a few weeks later had Mobile West install a double din stereo and a backup camera for me. They did a fantastic job. A few weeks later it was brought to my attention that my backup lights and a rear blinker were out. I had the bulbs replaced but the lights still didn’t work. A friend told me she thought it was probably caused by Mobile West but for some reason I didn’t call them. After all, the car was used and I didn’t want to blame them. Then a few weeks later, my hazard lights were flashing on their own without the button being pushed and I couldn’t get them to turn off. Finally I called. Peter said to bring the car in right away and they’d take a look. Long story short, they found the issue was not due to a mistake on their part. Insert a bunch of electrical jargon here but it wasn’t covered by the warranty since it wasn’t their fault. However! Peter could not have taken better care of me. He said he knew when I dropped the car off I wasn’t expecting to have to pay anything so he charged me a more than fair price for the job (I was on the verge of tears expecting it to be several hundred dollars + and when he told me the amount I almost cried tears of relief). I walked away relieved that it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg and they solved all my electrical problems. Thank you Peter and everyone at Mobile West.

I have had a consistently excellent customer experience at Mobile West. I bought a high end car stereo under excellent guidance with a resultant stereo fidelity experience that I enjoy every day. In terms of service, Peter and his team have been fair and extremely helpful. They are careful to honor warranty and the technical team there is very strong. At the end of the day, I trust them. After I bought my new WRX, I decided neither the standard nor upgrade stereo would do. I first patronized a local installer, and was disappointed with the results. Looked up online reputation of Mobile West, and was impressed, I drove 120 miles round trip to have them redo my system. First rate operation. Very knowledgeable, excellent equipment selection, great advice, good prices. They will do whatever it takes to make sure the install is correct. I am an audiophile, and the owner understands and appreciates good sound. Mobile West is more than just the typical 'boom boom' custom car stereo installer. I was impressed that I saw the owner take lots of time to help customers buying much less expensive systems than mine, shows dedication to all buyers. My head unit developed a problem with the GPS after two weeks, and they replaced it with a new one, good support. highly recommended! Update: had problems again with the head unit a year after I bought it. They still completely stood behind it. This kind of customer support is almost impossible to find nowadays. Don't bother talking to anyone else, these guys are the real deal!

I went there spoke with Peter and he got me an estimate. Came in a few days later and Allen helped me was clear and accepted payment. Made appointment. Peter and Allen went above and beyond... more than just getting me a great stereo at a reasonable price, AND more than it being installed super well with no rattles and with molding that matches the line of my car interior... they let me borrow a car, for free, not once but twice without my even asking so I could keep running errands, AND they fixed the broken button on my window without even asking or mentioning it! I don't leave a ton of reviews, but it's worth mentioning how good my experience was, and that I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Peter was great. One of the most knowledgeable music guys I have met. Showed me several options after hearing what it was that I wanted. I ended up replacing my stock radio with an upgrade to complement the very nice speakers I purchased. Overall, the experience was great and I was happy with the product. The installation of the components also went very well. The guys were very careful when removing and reinstalling parts of the dash and doors to get to the speakers and radio. No scratches, dents or loose parts. The installers ket the truck a bit longer to ensure the highest quality installation. Their hard work and expertise paid off since the system sounds beautiful. I am very happy with everything.

Called for an estimate to replace my OEM receiver with a new one I had purchased (from Cruchfield with all req accessories), was given a quote, and same day appt. They completed the install at the quoted price, and although they didn't notice one speaker now wasn't working, when I informed them they reconnected that speakers wires and I was good to go. Sounds great, so no complaint here.

I purchased my boat a few years ago and after dealing with audio issues for a few summers I finally decided to get it done right. Mobil West is among the best customer service experiences I have ever had. Peter Clover and Matt are exceedingly helpful without trying to oversell you on stuff you don't need or want. I have been there three times now, and each visit leaves me more and more impressed. Yes, you may be able to find hardware cheaper on the web by a few bucks. But, what you won't get by doing that is Peter sitting in your car with you and personally tuning your head unit with crossover points, slope angles and overall system optimization. On my last visit I did an Alpine hu upgrade. Peter spent an hour in my car tuning three different listening curves which he then preset into my system. The difference was pretty much mind blowing vs just putting the pieces in the car and calling it good. Want to trade in your gear that you bought from him previously to upgrade and get a very fair trade in value? Yep, he does that too. Mobil West seems to delight in putting together the best possible system given the budget you tell them to stay within--no up-selling. I'm impressed, and a big fan of MobilWest, which is why I drive over an hour each way to their shop.

I live just a little outside of Tacoma , wa. Check around for an Alpine dealer and installer in my area, closet one was Mobile West in Portland said Alpine. So, Mobile West re-fitted my Silverado with an Alpine Navigation and stereo, backup camera and an alarm system. I came out awesome, went from tiny screen to large screen and maps you can read. It was worth the drive for the results and the price was very reasonable. After 2 yrs ,had a false alarm problem with alarm that they solved right away at no cost. Recently, Mobil West re-fitted my Rubicon with an Alpine Navigation and stereo, backup camera, another awesome job. I am glad I went to them, I got the best price , workmanship and warranty.

I have read some of the lower rated reviews and can't really understand them. I suspect there are some people you just can't make happy. I brought in my Acura MDX to have a custom stereo installed. I have loved car stereos since I was 15 years old (mid 40's now) and have been to many many shops over the years. Peter, the owner, spent close to an hour showing me different options and giving me ideas about what I could do. He answered every question I had and entertained every idea I brought up. He know music, he knows good sound, and he is great at what he does. I could not be happier with the stereo they did in my car. It's the nicest sounding system I have ever had in the 30 years I have been buying car stereos. Period. Not only does it sound great, but the install is beautiful. Kevin, the installer, did a fantastic job and also took time to talk with me and find out what was important to me in my stereo. I had them remove my 3rd row to make room for the sub box and amps. I wanted to make sure you could not tell there was a stereo in the back and they did just that. If you are passionate about beautiful clean sound, this is the place for you.

UPDATE: Just went back to Mobile West, their new location is bigger, better and has its own parking! Peter was able to reset my stereo after it stopped working out of the blue, we thought it was a blown fuse. Anyhow, he took care of it free of charge. Yay for tunes :D EARLIER: Mobile West installed an amp and it was a great experience. They had a loaner car so I was able to work and come back. They were quick with the install and now the sound is 10x better!! I notice it daily on my commutes. One thing, I really liked was how they gave different options on improving sound. Allowing me to choose the quote to fit my budget. Thanks Mobile West!

I came in with some upholstery work on my Subaru and this was a 10/10 experience for me. Peter is such a sweetheart. As a young woman I don't always get treated with respect or get taken seriously at auto shops. Peter gave me a very fair estimate (I received quotes from a few places,) and was able to schedule my service within the week. I dropped my car off after work (they are open until 6 PM which is a MAJOR selling point considering most places close at 5 PM) and Peter gave me a loaner car to use until my car was ready the next day. When I came to pick my car up I realized I forgot my debit card on my desk at work so Peter downloaded a mobile app just so I could transfer him the money I owed. Seriously - above and beyond service and my upholstery work is pristine.

I am SO glad I check reviews before getting my stereo installed. I WAS going to go to Car Toys, but after reading the reviews on Google, I went to Mobile West. I was greeting and helped really quickly. The tech that installed my speakers and stereo was really friendly and the install was super fast. I have something weird going on with my car stereo system, and based on the reviews here I got in touch with Peter and accepted his invitation to bring my car in and have him take a look. Customer service was everything people described -- friendly, knowledgeable and up front about the (reasonable) cost of pursuing it further, since it wasn't the easy and obvious fix I had hoped it would be. I didn't do it today for my own cash flow reasons, but I wasn't the least bit embarrassed about that and I'll be back soon to have it fixed -- and back again later when I'm looking for an upgrade!

My suburban’s alarm system was having problems and I called Mobile West. I explained what was goin on and they said bring it in today, anytime and we’ll fix. I pulled in around noon and noticed they had some other cars in the shop. Peter took my rig in immediately and within 10 mins I was on my way! The siren needed replacement and was under warranty so it didn’t cost me a thing. Peter couldn’t have been nicer and I could tell he truly values his customers. I’ve used MW for 20 years and wouldn’t think of calling another company.

We just bought a new Nissan Truck from a local dealer. Part of the deal required that they install a hitch and electric brakes to haul a small travel trailer. I picked up the truck this AM and they installed the brake controller right where I asked them not too. They put it right where your right leg goes to work the gas and brake pedal. To top it off, my leg brushed against it, the controller fell off. They had installed it with 2 sided sticky tape under the dash! I was mad but done dealing with the dealership. So with the controller resting on my leg I Googled auto stereo install and Mobile West popped up. I took the vehicle there and in 30 minutes they had it securely and neatly tucked under the middle of the dash. They were quick, courteous and reasonably priced.

I bought a stereo here and saved hundreds of dollars. I compared the same setup to about four different stereo stores in the area. Mobile West gave me the most for the least. I loved Peter. This guy will entertain you as he sells you his products. However, he's also very knowledgeable and willing to take time to work with you and give you the best setup for our vehicle. They set up my Ford Explorer Sport Trac with a new Alpine deck and four Hertz speakers. They put Dynamat inside my doors and hooked up my factory subwoofer. That sub came alive! And the Hertz speakers paired with the Alpine deck sound absolutely sublime. I can hear details in the music I never knew existed. Peter gave me an iPhone charging cord. He fixed my iPhone charging port for me while he sold me stuff. I was about to have it replaced so he saved me about $100 right there. He gave me a really cool pen with a screwdriver in the end. Nice! I can't say enough good things about this place. If you want service, entertainment, a wealth of accurate knowledge, and a vehicle that sounds very sweet, this is the place to go. I have used other stereo stores in the past 20 years (in the area) and this was by far the best experience.

Everyone who sees my setup would swear it was factory... until they hear it. Don't pay the big-box stores to send their employees around in corporate jets. Came to mobile west to get a hook up for my iPhone in my Honda Pilot. After talking with Peter I went with a usb hook up but had some problems with it weeks after installation. Peter had me come back in and within an hour the mobile west team installed a new set up while I relaxed on their couch upstairs. The technicians were excellent and Peters PR skills are phenomenal. You may pay a couple extra bucks here vs other places, but it's well worth the quality and reassurance that you'll get exactly what your looking for in the end.

Mobile West did a really clean, nice job on my touch screen receiver and speakers. Now my 13-year-old car has most of the features you'd want from a new car. I definitely recommend the door-dampening treatment, which provide rich loud bass without the rattle. Some day when I get a new car, I'll order it with the base stereo package and then take it to Mobile West to get it done right.

I went with Car Stereo City near Mall 205 when I had my first car stereo installed. It cost twice as much and took forever to install. Time and money are two factors to consider for car installation but when it comes to the overall quality of the sound that is the reason for all other expenditures. Mobile West installed and tuned the deck of my choice so that it sounded much better than the system I had previously installed before at much higher cost. Now I want to have the companion amp but since the deck installation was so high quality I can put it off for a while. I'll be back soon for the icing on the cake.

The service here is first class. I got a new car stereo and backup camera, they gave me a loaner car while the work was done, and my car was ready just a few hours later the same day. This is my second time buying car upgrades from them, and it has been a great experience both times.

Mobile West installed soundproofing and a bluetooth unit in our Prius. I've had both for 5 years, and they work great. The price was good, service was good, and product quality was good. It was time for a new system (because our stock audio system broke), so we went back. This experience was a little more interesting, but it worked out well. Details are below, but my summary is: The recommended system was not comparable, even though our requirements were clearly stated...in other words, it was Mobile West's mistake. The owner took care of everything...he removed the new unit, replaced it with one that was compatible. There was no charge for this additional labor. Sure, they messed up, but they fixed it right away, so we are happy customers! We communicated our needs to the owner, who recommended a car audio and bluetooth system in our price range. I also asked if they could install a dashcam (which I already owned). The price was good, and the turn around time was great. However, when a technician and I went to the car to test everything out, the unit didn't have full functionality with my phone, which uses a standard (Android) bluetooth protocol. The technician opened up the manual where it clearly stated that the system was for Iphones. In my opinion, that was a goof up because we'd stated what kind of phones we had. Anyway, the owner had another system for $100 more) that was compatible. They installed it in 2 hours, with no additional labor charges. However, I had an appointment, and couldn't pick it up on time, but the owner said he would wait around after closing time so we could pick it up. When we arrived 1/2 hour after closing time, he still took the time to walk us through pairing our phones, and showing us how the new system worked. We are very happy with the new system, and the dashcam. It would have been more convenient if they had checked the compatibility of the 1st system they installed, but everyone makes mistakes. How a business deals with this mistakes is the real test, and I think Mobile West handled it VERY well.

I highly recommend going to these guys anytime you need something audio related done to your car, big or small! I needed someone to simply disconnect my aftermarket stereo so my car could pass DEQ inspection. The dealership was going to charge me a bunch of money so I called Mobile West just to see if they would do it for less. I brought my car in and not only did they remove the stereo for free, they also put it back in for no charge after my car passed. This was seriously too nice and I will definitely be back any time I need them to do something and hopefully they will let me pay them next time! :) I also love how willing they are to explain things about audio and cars to me because I'm not so great with that stuff. I got a good lesson on why my specific VW Golf was in a small set of 3 model years that is unable to communicate with the DEQ device if a non factory stereo is installed. Thanks a bunch!

Amazing Stereo !!! I've been dealing with Mobile West for years with great results. But this time I took my car in and asked Pete to put together a complete stereo for my car and WOW ! did he ever. Head unit with car-play , Navi , HD radio and all Hertz speakers Amp and all of the other goodies. It is the best sounding stereo system that I have ever had. There was also problems with my car and Pete and all of the guys got together and found the problem and fixed it for me. I have used this business twice in the past the first time to get keyless entry installed in my car. The second was to get my aux port replaced and an interior lock button for my keyless entry I had installed prior. These people are amazing! The owner Peter takes his time with each customer and his employees are super attentive and go above and beyond! Never a bad experience here! Thankyou guys!

I've upgraded my stock stereo in about 3 stages from Mobile West and couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Quite frankly, it sounds amazing! From the first time I walked through the door, Peter and Co. we're nothing but professional and respectful. What prompted me to give a review is that there was a small oversight on their part, but when I notified them 3 weeks later the owner (Peter), was extremely quick to respond in correcting it. We had a very extensive project. Side cameras, 2 rear cameras on the travel trailer. Back up camera and sensor on back of truck. New cd/dvd deck in Trailer and truck. Their were issues with the first camera system for the travel trailer. We had to leave it several times for Mobile West to take care of the problems. They supplied a loaner car or a Uber ride to get me home. They were very attentive and courteous. The stood behind their work. They a lifetime warranty on Labor, which is why I chose to work with Peter from Mobile West. I was surprised that they really stuck with the project and the camera system is now working great.

I brought my 2004 Acura TL into the shop because the stereo stopped working and I intend to keep my car (the dealership where I have it routinely serviced told me they no longer stock parts for that year.) At first, I was surprised by the options but did choose the most expensive one offered, with high hopes. At first there was some misunderstanding (perhaps on my part) about what I wanted to achieve and what I expected. But Mobile West was patient and worked with me to assure that I ultimately got what I was hoping to achieve: great sound, easy to use, works seamlessly with my iPhone (which, by the way, I upgraded between the time I first had Mobile West install the stereo and do rewiring and now), fast, just great. I lost no capabilities and gained a ton back. While the bill (which was exactly what they told me it would be) was certainly not “cheap” (and they did provide 2 other less expensive options), I felt the service - and results - were superior. Only for the rich, apparently. They have some of the best audio gear available, no doubt. However the service and staff attitude steered me away. First time I came here a couple years ago, the service was amazing, and I reviewed it as such. I needed a new sub enclosure and the staff dropped everything and installed one on the spot for a great price, despite my not having planned for it that day. The next experience wasn't so good. I went in to specifically demo some component sets for an active front stage for my new Legacy. I had already narrowed it down to 2 or 3 sets I had been researching, one being the Morel Maximo series. They seemed to be the only shop around that had the Maximos available for demo. From the moment I stepped in in felt like It was a problem for me to be there at all. Dude eating his lunch not acknowledging me, had to walk up to the counter before he said anything. He eventually got someone else to help me and show me the demo station. Wonderful. What's going on here? First time I came in without intending to buy anything, and service was so great I spent money. Now I'm coming in with money knowing pretty much exactly what I want to buy, and I can't get decent service. I was rotated between 3 different people in 20 minutes because they apparently all had better things to do. At this point I was on the fence about buying anything due to the service. But the Maximos were exactly what I wanted and they had them. I could bring them back if there was any problem, so I decided to go for it. Told them I needed the 6.5" version, which is what I demo'd. Guy brought up a set of Maximos and started ringing me up. That's when I noticed they were the 5.25 size, not what I wanted. I informed him he grabbed the wrong size. That's when he informed me that no he didn't, they were out of the 6.5 and he was going to ring me up for the 5.25 size and some adapter brackets so they would fit. Oh, and that I wouldn't know the difference, so it was OK. So now I'm offended because they're treating me like I'm stupid. I explained I surely would know the difference; I had already done research and found the 6.5 version has better mid-bass response and plays 10hz lower than the 5.25 version, and wold better blend with my subwoofers. This was very important to me since I was not installing dedicated mid-bass speakers (yet). I explained this, and that I wasn't paying for a size I didn't want. SO, they found a returned set of 6.5 in the back, and said if I wanted those they would give me a small discount and still honor the warranty. OK, why didn't you mention that before? They looked good to me, so I went for it. (ugh.) After about two weeks my new install was complete. I had properly sound deadened the doors, filled them, made plexiglass panels to fill the access panel, ETC. After eliminating virtually all noise, there was still some noise problem with the speakers. I took the car by to see if they knew what was wrong. They listened and told me the problem was my crappy? Rockford Fosgate amplifier, and offered to show me some better amps. I declined. After taking the car home and ripping it apart, found BOTH speakers' leads were hitting the back of the speaker cones, a manufacturer's defect. I re soldered the leads and fixed the problem myself. I called and explained the problem, and told them they may want to check their other speaker sets. I felt like I was repeatedly brushed off here because I didn't come in with over a grand to spend, and wasn't given the time of day because I had wanted to do the install myself. If you wanna drop off your car and 5K and let these guys have free reign, then you will probably get better service.

I discovered too late that the my 2019 Tacoma came with the tragic train wreck that is Toyota Entune. I decided to get a stereo that I actually enjoyed using and went to Mobile West. They had one that would work and would use CarPlay so that I actually had functionality that functioned. They were efficient and friendly and sold me exactly what I wanted, then installed it - all for less than I had just wasted on that damn Entune failure. It all connects to my steering wheel buttons and now my stereo makes enough sound to actually hear it while driving with the windows down. Toyota Entune - 0 stars, Mobile West - 5 stars.

The diagnosis of my problem and installation was great. 4 to 5 starish. My problem is that I made a reservation, spoke with Peter, confirmed that it would take no more than @ hours, so we walked to Lloyd Center for lunch. Two hours later, upon our return the project hadn't been started. Peter was out, and the predictable lame excuse was we have a big project yadi yadi yaw. Well there was NO conflicting project when I made the reservation, confirmed the reservation, and presented the car on time for the work to be done. So I had to sit for another two hours.
